OC Mundane Tag Game
thanks for tagging me, @accidental-spice !!
Rules: Pick an OC you'd like to talk about and answer the questions for them! Then tag ten people, or as many as you can. 'Underdeveloped character I adopted' is fine, too! Absolutely no pressure to play, though
Also, if some of it can't apply to your OCs, just answer what would be the answer-- like if they're in a historical setting, they likely can't watch movies, but what is a movie they'd like?
(Also, most people have many ocs, so feel free to retag people and answer as many times as you get tagged! Or get really wild and just answer for as many ocs as you'd like! :D)
Questions:
1. What is their favorite movie? hmmm ok I’m picking Daesha! I think The Princess and the Frog would be a beloved of hers, as she’d really connect with Tiana! She’d love Mulan, too. She’d also rly like Legally Blonde!
2. What is their favorite season?
She’s an autumn person, I think! It just has her Vibes! She’d really enjoy watching the leaves change, and her caf cantina’s cozy vibes are even more immaculate in autumn!
3. What do they find annoying?
Men.
Just kidding lol. She would definitely make that joke and not mean it…usually. Homegirl has some Stuff to work through in that area. Anyways, she’s annoyed by anyone who messes up her cantina’s vibe. And everything about Twi’lek stereotypes infuriates her. But when it comes to domestic, everyday annoyances…I think she gets frustrated when people pick apart movies. She’s like “it’s my day off I took off w o r k to enjoy this so LET ME ENJOY IT”
4. How would they like to spend their Christmas or equivalent holiday?
She just celebrated Life Day with her parents for a long time, which was really intimate and enough for her. She and her parents are very close, and they’re super proud of her! Daesha loves welcoming people into her caf cantina, but she’s a bit of an introvert when she’s off work, and she’s quite the workaholic. So she doesn’t make a lot of effort socially, besides the customers who eventually become friends and family to her. One in particular…but that’s another story.
5. Do they play an instrument? If so, what? How good are they at it?
Nah, but Daesha does love listening to music! She’s got one headphone in most of the time and gives the BEST music recommendations!
6. What’s their favorite meal to eat?
Daesha’s breakfast is caf, so that one lol!
7. Do they have a favorite video game or board game?
OOH Daesha would play a lot of board/card games with her parents!! I think she’d love Monopoly lol and the card game Spades! She’s very competitive, but in a fun way. When she was a kid she was more fiery about it lol but she’s usually more chill now. Usually. Unless you get her really worked up. Also she’s secretly a gamer on her off days and story video games make her cry like nothing else, especially Undertale
8. Do they celebrate their birthday?
Her parents make her celebrate lol. and they leaked her birthday to her customers so they all join in and every year they bring decorations as soon as the store opens and hang them everywhere and buy way too much caf as a present for Daesha haha
9. What’s their bedtime routine?
she used to SUCK at self-care, but now she’s got a fire skincare routine lol. she always makes a to-do list for the next day before she goes to bed in her super organized planner! she’s an early riser, so she doesn’t stay up super late—unless it’s the night before an off-day, in which case she g a m e s so hard and then falls into bed. also occasionally she gets stuck in the hypnosis that is Brooklyn Nine-Nine and binges too many episodes. she only once in a blue moon, tho. also yes her favorite character is Rosa, closely followed by Amy
10. What’s an OC (or canon character) they like to spend time around? What do they tend to do together?
She and Hera VIBE. they connect for so many reasons and on so many levels! throughout the Rebellion, they don’t rly get to see each other, but afterwards, they reconnect, and they FaceTime/holocall or whatever about once a week! it’s therapeutic for the both of them, and they very occasionally meet up and Daesha makes her caf and they talk for hours. also Daesha loves Jacen so much she thinks he’s the cutest thing and sometimes when Hera’s out doing General Things and no one in the Ghost Crew is available she drops him off on Keothon and he hangs out with Aunt Day for a while and she lets him help out in the caf cantina! he loves being a mini barista and the customers adore him!
tagging @jessicas-pi @musewrangler @locitapurplepink @anileahvictoria and anyone else who wants to play!

Incorrect Quotes: The Time Travel AU With The Padawans edition
Derra: I keep a picture of all of us in my wallet. Whenever I face difficulties, I take it out and stare at the picture. Ezra, Sabine, Dae: Awwww- Derra: And I tell myself "If I can deal with these idiots, then I can deal with anything." Ezra, Sabine, Dae: Oh. --- Derra: If I can't cause tiny bits of chaos every day, I think my body will shut down.  --- Dae: What, I can’t be in a bad mood? It’s like people think, “Oh, Daesha is such a nice girl, Daesha is so happy-go-lucky! Daesha can’t be in a bad mood!” Well, you know what? Daesha CAN be in a bad mood. And right now, Daesha IS be in a bad mood. ---
Derra: Why do I always tell people we’re cool? We’re so very uncool. --- Ezra: Oh gosh I wish I got more sleep I only got six hours! Dae: Six? I only got three! Sabine: You guys got sleep? Derra, comes stumbling out of her room and grabs a jug of caf before saying: What year is it?? --- Sabine: Your smile? It makes my day. Ezra: Your happiness? I live for that. Derra: A room? Get one. Dae: Hotel? Trivago. --- Ezra: Small creatures are much more vicious because they have a smaller body to bottle up all their emotions. Derra: Ridiculous. Give me some examples. Sabine: Wasps? Dae: Terriers? Ezra: Dae. --- Derra: Am I a boy? Am I a girl? It doesn't matter. I'm a Sith, and I'm going to burn your house down. --- Derra: Anything else? Sabine: Yeah. Stay away from me! Derra: Alright. See you in the room we share. --- Dae: Wake me up- Ezra: Before you go go Sabine: When September ends Derra: WAKE ME UP INSIDE --- Ezra, to Kanan: The girls have been acting really weird lately. Do you know what's going on? *flashback to Dae talking to Kanan* Dae: I'm trying to set him up with Derra, obviously! They're Darkness and Light, two sides of the same coin. It's romantic! *flashback to Sabine talking to Kanan* Sabine: Derriphan said that she thinks Dae and Ezra like each other, and they're my two best friends, so of course I'm encouraging them to get together! *flashback to Derra talking to Kanan* Derra: Pff. I've never seen two people with less chemistry than Dae and Ez. But I don't want to cause suffering to draw power from, so I'm substituting teenage angst. I give Sabine six months maximum before she realizes her feelings and implodes with jealousy. *flashbacks end* Kanan: Kanan: ...all is as the Force wills. Ezra: That's not an answer. --- Derra: I am darkness. I am power. I am your worst nightmare. I could kill a man in more ways than you can imagine. I am the night. I am fury, I am a weapon, I am- Dae: A doll. Sabine: A cinnamon roll. Ezra: A sweetheart. Derra: Derra: ...stop it. --- Ezra and Dae: *making loud, shouty gorilla sounds at each other* Ahsoka: Hera, exasperatedly: Guys, Fulcrum is here. --- Dae: I'm willing to bet that some day I'll die from an animal I try to make friends with. Ezra: OMG SAME!!!! --- Dae: This family doesn't split up to do sensible, constructive things. It comes together to do awesome, stupid things. --- Ezra: Why aren't there friendship pick up lines? Pick up lines to make friends like- Ezra, to Dae: Hey, that's a cute outfit. You know where it would look better? On nobody else, because you're a beautiful individual. Derra, to Sabine: Be my friend or I'll set your entire family on fire. Zeb, watching: There are two types of people. --- Dae, to Derra: Excuse us for being gushy, but this has to be said. You are not a loser. --- *the Squad at Space Disneyland, in the teacups* Sabine and Derra: *spinning a little and talking* Ezra and Dae: *flying past them, spinning as fast as they can, screaming* --- Derra: Truth or dare? Dae: Dare. Derra: I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the room. Dae: Hey Ezra? Ezra, confused: Yeah? Dae: Can you move? I'm trying to get to the mirror. Ezra, deadpan: How very humble of you. Sabine: No, no. She's right. --- Sabine: Kriff. I give up. I admit the facts. Dae and Ezra are definitely a couple. Derra: Mm and why do you say that? Sabine: You saw her yesterday, Derra! She was wearing his shirt! Derra: And the day before that she was wearing Hera's spare overalls. Day before that she used Kanan's visor as a sleep mask. Do you know why I'm wearing booty shorts right now, Sabine? Because she took all my pants. Every single pair. And now I have to wear pink sparkly booty shorts because I have no more pants. Derra: Daesha isn't a girlfriend. She's a clothes thief. --- Derra: Someone will die... Dae: Of fun! --- Ezra: I just want someone to take me out. Dae: On a date? Derra: With a sniper gun? Sabine: Both if you're not a coward. --- Zeb: It's locked. You got a lock pick? Ezra: Yeah- Derra: *kicks in the door*

Black Spire Lightsaber Tournament, Day 1: Non force sensitives
Semifinal B: Armitage Hux (Arkanis) Vs. Daesha Sivron (Black Spire Outskirts)
Tumblr media
The Twi'lek was a well-to-do merchant, wealthy enough to afford a lightsaber, and enthusiast enough to actually put effort into her training, training provided by expensive instructors.
To the contrary Armitage was... actually he was richer, better educated and better connected than Daesha, but had spent the last few months climbing mountains, hiding in the woods and doing the dishes in a landspeeder factory.
Only now it dawned to Armitage that he’d have to do a lot of re-adjusting to re-integrate into polite society. At the moment, though, something else was more important and so the esteemed officer fought not like a knight, but as dirty as a back alley thug (the way he preferred to win his battles anyway).
Tumblr media
Armitage: "Understand that I couldn't lose this match."
Tumblr media
Armitage: "Rose won hers before me, so if I won mine, too, we'd be together in the finale! What we now are."
Rose: *squees*
Tumblr media
Finn: "Say, do you feel like we're missing out, because OUR dates never are about electroshocks and bloodshed?"
Poe: "I'll start to worry when they start building another Death Star together."

The top of the Voidhound’s criminal empire (sans my BH their Underboss)
Thinking of calling Temeli “Daesha” (female ruler or queen in twi’leki) as the boss of the organization. Let her have a title similar to Don Corleone’s “Godfather.” Haven’t found a twi’leki or huttese word for “Advisor” as a replacement for “Consigliere” but that would end up being Lynora’s title. Just fun to have Tem’s twi’lek heritage influence the titles of her criminal empire.
Ship Captain’s and those in leadership roles would be called “Anoon” (commander, warrior chief). And minor members without any leadership roles would then be called Gida (female warrior) or Chee (male warrior) to replace the mafia “soldier” title.

Elements: Tales of The Arcanes | Detailing - Season 1 |
Girlie's, gays, he's and they's, ive prepared the first portion of detailing for my story.
Note: This document relays information of the plot, setting, cast and more. However, any major details on character growth will be handled on a separate post.
Synopsis -
Season 1 is a story about a group of teenagers who are transported into the world or rather worlds of magic after a strange sorcerer hijacks them through a portal intended for their parents. discovering hidden abilities which they must use against witches, monsters and foes, they must reveal the buried truth of their origins and find a way to get back to their parents. Magic mayhem, Enchanted Academies and realms of magical beings, the Arcanes have a brand new adventure to go on.
Plot -
Note: Spoiler warning! This is an in depth description of the Plot of season 1.
2 weeks before the beginning of the school year, Ayden, Daesha, Sarai, Kyshon, Pasi and Ishaun are sent through a portal created by a dark sorcerer while attending a  party. Transported to the Magic Dimension, on the Realm Aether, They seek out Merope for safe haven at her academy for young magi (Magic users) Pleia. While attending classes these young teens discover sides of themselves they didn't know existed but as time progresses passing a class becomes the least of their worries. The same sorcerer, Atlas is revealed to be the king of the realm Astral and is desperate to capture the teens at any cost. Using an ancient curse, Atlas calls upon 3 eldredge witches to possess 3 teens from earth. These witches are sent to Pleia with the intention of spying on and manipulating everyone. If Atlas gets his hands on the teens, he can bargain for their parents and use their magic to open a gate to oblivion.
Introduction: The introduction begins in nymphwood, having the first two episodes taking place around Sarai’s Sweet 16. We’ll get a small glimpse into everyone’s home life and their personalities and interests while exploring everyones interpersonal relationships and dynamics.
Rising Action: This would be the act of the Arcanes being taken through the portal into the magic dimension. This would continue through their Pleia shenanigans throughout the school and as they discover their magical powers and learn to harness them.
Conflict: The introduction of the hex’s acts as the first sign of conflict as they manipulate ishaun into desiring to help Atlas. Along with this the Arcanes must actively go about searching for a way to return to their parents on Earth.
Climax: Simply the act of the Arcanes stealing the Tome Of Ego from Atlas and Atlas kidnapping Ishaun in order to do an exchange. Bonus: Their parents make it to Aether and reunite with them.
Falling Action: The Arcanes leave the Astral Palace and save Ishaun after he destroys the Tome Of Ego.  Conclusion: The Arcanes make the decision to stay in the magic dimension to deal with the threat of Atlas.
Story Arcs -
Note: there aren't really any real major arcs acknowledged in season 1 so these are more like headcanons arc titles.
Arc 1 “Welcome To Pleia”
Episodes | 3 - 8
Arc 2 “Hexed”
Episodes | 12 - 16
Arc 3 “Follies of the lunar festival”
Episodes | 24 - 26
“Filler” Episodes:
Note: Filler episodes will be handled with a mix of slice of life and character driven stories to subtly allow character growth and future plot points.
Setting(s) -
Nymph Wood: a little town located in New Jersey (nj), Nymph Wood is the home of the main characters. Named for its myths of creatures of the same name, Nymph wood is a cozy little town with thick forests and an abundance of wildlife.
Pleia Collage: one of the crown jewels of the magic dimension, Pleia is a magic focused secondary school. Located on the realm of Aether, Pleia is an enchanted place for young magi to develop their abilities to the fullest and become guardians of their realms and keepers of ancient magic’s.
Grand Magie City “Magi City”: A bustling city center to Aether, Magi City is filled with life and adventure. With a mixed aesthetic of fantasy and high tech its diverse and reflects the nature of its inhabitants. People of all races, cultures are welcome to come visit or create a life for themselves.
Faragonda Grove “Pixie village”: Located deep within the enchanted forest surrounding Pleia lays the Pixie Village. Filled with the small fairy like creatures, students of Pleia are permitted to go to the grove to study and spend time with their bonded pixie.

Writer Asks!
Tumblr media
How long have you been writing? Academically and professionally? For a long time. Back when I was in school, I could usually turn out a 3-5 page paper the night before it was due and get a B+ / A- on it. In my profession, writing is actually part of my job. I like it, but it can get monotonous. A lot of the stuff I write will probably be written by a computer in a few years. If you mean creatively, then its been off and on for most of my life. When i'm engaged in an activity that motivates me, I can write quite a bit. When I started playing RPGs, many of the games allowed players to submit Literaries covering what their character was doing during "down times" and so on. That was a big thing. I planned to GM an RPG of my own once, and filled a notebook with notes on stories, NPCs, setting and so on. Sadly, my group broke up before I could run it. Its still in a drawer someplace. When I started writing SWTOR fanfic, it was the first real creative writing I had done in a while. And it… felt good. Like i hadn't used those muscles in years.
What's your favorite genre to write? Probably Fluff, followed by Angst.
Do you ever collaborate with others? @chaosandwonder was kind enough to lend me her lovely Jedi Consular for my "The Only Ones Who Can" piece. Likewise, @taraum let me borrow Daesha Ven for "A Hero’s Reward". More recently, @raven-of-domain-kwaad have been writing stories with her OCs in my Adas Legacy story. So that's going well!
Thank you for the asks @commander-krios !

ok so that ask game got me thinking and I went to see if Makenna could dig up her concept art for the Derra And Dae Cause Problems On Purpose AU. Turns out she did the art AFTER I came up with the AU, not before. Memory fails yet again XD
And not only did she find the art, she reminded me of even more of the AU that i'd forgotten about! That's under the cut. and will probably make some of the art make more sense. 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stuff I'd forgotten:
Derra's Sith Master was a Cathar OC i'd made and I came up with a very emotional scene just before the girls got put into stasis of Derra saying good-bye to her master, illustrated above. (thanks kenna!)
Daesha loves to hurl shakespeare-esque insults at her enemies.
Derra gets into existential debates/philosophical yelling matches with Ezra's Sith holocron post-Malachor.
The Unrequited Love Squardrangle
(allow me to explain)
The Unrequited Love Squardrangle was what makenna started calling the interpersonal relationships between the four teenagers on the Ghost in Seasons 1-2. Because Daesha is extremely pretty and Derra is ridiculously buff and Sabine is, well, Sabine, and poor ezra is Having Multiple Problems Right Now. Which turns into a running gag sort of thing in the background, in that Sabine, Derra, and Dae all have different plans on how this should end.
Daesha is trying to be a supportive sister to Derra--by playing matchmaker with her and Ezra. She just thinks the whole thing would be poetic, ok?? Sith + Jedi?? (Daesha is a hopeless romantic.) Derra is NOT a hopeless romantic and is also very not interested in Ezra, which Sabine knows. Sabine decides that if she can set up Dae and Ezra, then they can finally have peace and quiet. Derra agrees to help Sabine with her plan, then immediately starts plotting against her to invoke the Matchmaker Crush trope. Because, Unsithly-Sith that she is, Derra thrives off chaos and drama, and what is more chaotic and dramatic than teenage jealousy?
By season 3, the matchmaking has mostly died out. mostly. i mean we all saw s3e7 and believe me derra saw it too ahem. scuse me. don't know where that came from.
Dae loves romance novels. She says up really late reading them. She also stays up late talking with Sabine, which is a pain in Derra's sithly butt because she's an early riser and they all share a room. Dae has a hammock.
After Vader showed up and started following Daesha around in hopes of learning The Secrets Of The Jedi, Derra made a sign that said "It has been __ days since Vader's last dark side moment."
The number has never gotten above the single digits.
Redemption is a slow process.

The Pieces in Front of Us.
The sub-terranean apartment Dinek and Silais'fenn lived and raised their children in was small. The costumes and dresses that Silais wore in her weekly performances at the Coronet Theatre exploded into the main living areas of the two-bedroom flat. Though windowless, the bright grow lights filled nooks around the kitchen where Rylothian orchids in pots that were painted ages ago by the hands of children. It may have been a comfortable apartment for a family of four, had the Fenn's not been collectors of anything that captured their interest. The walls were covered in holo-images of Twi'lek art, mixed in with snapshots of each of the Fenn's at a younger age. Shelves overflowing with datadisks lined the wall and even found themselves onto the artifact shelves. It was an apartment filled with music, in the background, somewhere, an opera from Onderon, in a language so archaic none of them could understand it played. It was home, obviously so the closer they got to the door of it, the more relieved Daesha seemed to become. There was no need to knock, her fingers knew the code by heart and the Fenn's had no reason to worry, even deep in the heart of Coronet. She entered without a thought, inviting Ade to join her as they walked through the entry hall lined with shelves of various replicas of cultural artefacts intermixed with ancestral artefacts. In the living room, sat Dinek, a pleasant, gentile Tukian of a deep green tone. When he heard the steps, he stood to greet them. Three cups of tea already sitting out on the table surrounded by artfully designed chairs that Silais spent far too many credits on.
He had a slow, easy smile as he rose to his feet to embrace his daughter, and then be introduced to her company. His lekku and smirk spoke clearly to his amusement - and amusement that seemed to truly get under Daesha's skin as her reception was a bit more weary. "I made you tea." Dinek stated simply and motioned for them to sit down, "I heard you were here, Teeubo called my office when you landed, don't worry... he was at the starport and say the both of you, commed me being the mother Gurreck she is... Ryloth Communication Network." He says with a wink.
"I didn't see her at the Starport," Daesha remarked and easily slide onto the couch as she had done a million times before, but this one was different. That much was clear from the perplexed look on her face and the somewhat disapproving look she gave to her father as she righted herself. "She changed the couch, could you have at least talked her into a different colour?" The look Dinek gave Daesha in return was flat and spoke just as clearly as any words. "I had one of my feelings." He smirked and picked up the cup of tea, "I thought so." "Mm." He took a sip of tea, "First, tell me of your vacation." "It's all related, Dad, we instigated the events to put me in this position and that's when the dreams began," She started to explain.
"The dreams maybe, but you've always had my intuition. It's what made and makes you so talented at what you do."
"Yes, but I've never been to Ryloth, yet that's where I'm dreaming of. Almost every night since I went to Talus I dream of coming across massive caverns in the various caves systems but there's nothing in them."
"Isn't there?" He asked with a smirk, "Remember, we are not named for some colours on a chart, we are named after the very aspects of our world, the tears of Kikka'lekki are only representative to the spiritual aspects of the elements we were built upon and cannot live without."
"The Sesk'mahvus cave system interlinks the caverns for a reason, each of the caverns is representative to the clans and how we are connected to Her just as everything in this Galaxy is. And what are we as a people? We are fire, water, earth... we are the spirit, and the hope that inspiration brings, these aren't things for someone to embody."
Dinek's soft smile remained through the various transitions of Daesha's gaze on him as she followed what he was telling her. When she leaned back against the couch and simply sat there - slightly dumbfounded, his smile grew and he looked back to Ademu, "Had I known you would be coming too, I would've informed Silais, my wife."
He motioned to the various racks of costumes that filled the spaces between the shelving of the flat, "Not that she needs to add anything, but she can always think of something. My father always told me that no joy but joy in the eyes comes from loving a Tyrian." He chuckled and shrugged, "A lack of space certainly comes from loving one, but I have had sixty rotations of joy with her."
Ade listened to the explanation that Dinek gave on his theory of the interconnectedness of the people via the Temple cave system. It was certainly a poetic interpretation. The last time Ade had been anywhere near the Temple Caste's holdings, it had been for a far less spiritual reason. Not to bring attention to himself, Ade reached for the cup of tea, cradling it in his hands as Dinek motioned around the small apartment. There was an.. overwhelming amount of costumes and clothing in the living space. It made even Daesha's own show room appear almost comically barren by comparison.
"Your father was a wise man. I appreciate the sage advice, seeing as his grand-daughter may have embodied her mother's love of fashion." He said with a small chuckle. It was the closest he'd come to admitting his... fondness for Daesha's being. "And I'm sure another visit could be arranged if she has a need for something that I could provide." Ade kept his eyes making contact with Dinek when he was spoken to, but couldn't help but occasionally take in Daesha's distracted and sometimes awestruck expressions. Almost as if seeing the woman completely devoid of a barb or cheeky retort was something he didn't want to miss.
She remained quiet as they spoke, pulling her legs up to cross in front of her and cradling her mug of tea in her lap. It was the copper liquid of the spice tea that drew her attention. "We have no statues to her." "No." "No paintings." "No." "No icons." "No." "Yet, she has a name." "Do all things need to be physical to exist?" Dinek pointedly looked at his daughter whose expression fell into a well-trained placid calm mask she so naturally slipped on when her disbelief was too much. "I know a Kiva in the Outer Rim it would interest you to speak with, before you go remind me to give you the information to contact her, yes?" She nodded. Dinek watched his daughter's face with curiosity. The familiar resemblance as they studied people was clear, she was every bit her father's daughter. His smile turned to one loving joy and there was a bit of mischief in his eyes when he nodded towards her, glancing to Ademu. "Watch this." He whispered.
On cue, though too lost in her own thoughts to have caught her father's comment, Daesha leaned over to set her cup of tea back down and rose from the couch. She stood there for a moment, her eyes squinted in thought before she headed into the small kitchen and climbed easily onto the counter top to reach a box on the top of the cabinets there before she returned to her place on the couch.
"Your sister's actual birthday." He told gently, a mere reminder.
With the code entered, the box opened easily. Daesha carefully removed the Kalikori that was inside and pushed the box aside to lay the ancestral artefact against her legs to study it more carefully.
Dinek also moved, to secure the door with an extra data lock and turning up the volume on the music as he passed the holo-player on his way back to the living room. "I have always maintained that we're all connected in our ways. Our histories will sometimes repeat, and we come across recurring characters with different names, and different faces, but the same soul. This is the dynamic of the Galaxy that I teach, that the Goddess represents."
"There was a Twi'lek playwright your mother loves... I can't recall his name, but he had a theory that in the story of our lives, there are only three main players and it's through our spirit we are connected them. I'm sure his theory was influenced by the Council of Kivas, but ah..."
He leaned forward once he settled into his chair again to take the Kalikori from Daesha to hold between his hands. The clan name engraved into it was the name of a long dead Alderaanian family, 'Korinth'.
"You won't find the answers to your own situation in the past, and your heritage is certainly not the reason for your dreams, but there is a precedent in those names."
"You're Sesk'mahvus?" Daesha was puzzled as she looked at her father and he simply laughed, nodding.
"I am."
"Is there a reason you never told us?"
"It wasn't important. I was a teacher on Ryloth, I'm a teacher here on Corellia and we left Ryloth to be free of the system. What do the talents your mother and I possess mean when we would have to sell one of our children to ensure we could raise a family in the first place? That's no religious system, Daesha, you know that." He continued speaking, both his lekku and hands moving with his words. A true professor. "You're not discovering any grand truth here other than putting together the pieces of what you know already. Am I surprised that you started to dream with the time you had? Busy, busy, busy. You run around like your mother. Do you know where she is right now?"
He rolls his eyes, "Doaba Guefal for some festival for the Imperial Arts. It's far too monochromatic for me."
"She said she'd take the weekend off, now look what she's missed?" He scoffed and leaned forward motioning to Daesha. "When is water the most clear?" He asked plainly.
The look she gave to her father was one only a daughter could give to her father. "...when it's still."
"You've always had my intuition, nothing you say here is surprising to me. You're a Korinth spirit in a Fenn body and you are tied to that story as well. Explore it as you learn to be still." Dinek set the Kalikori on the table and sighed sadly, "One day we will have it on display again. Did you hide the Fenn Kalikori like I told you?"
Daesha nodded.
"Good. Now tell me, how's your sister? We haven't gotten a message from her in far too long."
On the subject of Ilar, Daesha took a long, deep breath and relaxed onto the couch, crossing her legs in front of her again. She went into detail without sharing specifics about the trouble Ilar was causing with her firework shows around Talus and the last time they had seen each other, they had argued that Daesha wasn't doing more. Dinek listened, his expression growing grave as her news continued. He didn't dare interrupt, news of his eldest child was rare and exceedingly hard to come by the longer the war progressed.
"If they arrest her..."
She shook her head to interrupt her father, "They won't. There will be no proper funeral. They are cruel." Her lekku shifted over her shoulders to twist and spiral in the silent communication of their people.
Now it was Dinek that took a deep breath and nodded. he understood, and it was a path they had both long accepted Ilar had chosen to walk. After a sip of tea to wash away the distasteful conversation, "Let's go to Nonnu's. I'm hungry and I would appreciate the lightheartedness of a conversation held in the open."
