Here me out:
Wish was the ultimate movie that Disney has ever made. Perfectly perfect to what anyone would have ever asked for when they say they want it all connected.
It embodies everything about itself.
We all wanted a Disney movie that had all the Disney movies linked....
The point of the movie is be careful what you wish for.
The movie warned us about itself.
This was an amazing movie.
It gave us what we all had been asking for.
Magnifico even said some wishes are too vague to grant. They can be dangerous.
Well everyone was it worth it?

Song of Ice and Fire thoughts: People who didn't read the books might be confused by this because I just don't think the show really brought it home. Sure they leaned on how bad the red wedding was, but honestly the books were so much better at the build up for why everyone didn't think it could happen after rob and co. Were so careful about accepting and abiding by it.
So we are given three chances to see the law of hospitality. Cat explains it even better to rob before the twins. "As soon as you are welcomed eat or drink. If he doesn't offer it ask for it." Once you accept their hospitality or are given it you will be safe. Mance explains it to Jon in his tent "you've eaten from my table, you are protected under hospitality. I swear no harm will come to you here."
Leading up to the red wedding we are given so many crumbs of this unspoken law and even afterward Bran learns about the Rat king who suffered from the gods wrath after not abiding by it.
What I will reference most is the three main examples that were smashed together to show how it works and how astonishing it was for them to be followed by ones you wouldn't expect and broken by ones who you'd hope wouldn't.
1) the freys welcoming rob and co. to the wedding at the twins
2) mance welcoming Jon to his tent after Jon is captured
3) Dannys deal with the slavers (trade agreements for unsullied)
We are given three distinct outcomes
1) red wedding
2) Jon is guaranteed safety
3) Danny does what she can but ultimately teaches a lesson
Some view 3 as just as bad as 1 because they are both instances of trust breaking and going against your word. In this land this unspoken hospitality law is pretty much one of the worst things you can do because it just leaves one side defenseless and doesn't give them a fair chance at their life.
2 teaches us it's not about who you are sat with when your guest takes your offerings it is your job to keep them safe and your job to do them no harm because it was you who offered the good graces.
1 is just a bloodbath everyone agrees it was wrong. No matter how you spin it Frey's were in the bad and their time is coming. I am 100% in agreement that the Freys are going to have some form of massive punishment for this. The world is not happy it happened and it's going to be such a perfect comeuppance.
3 is so much more complex, you're dealing with a situation where your guest is actively against you and is actively working against you and is passively seeking out your doom and actively exploiting you.
I think 3 is there to not only teach us that the hospitality is both ways but to also show how Danny thinks. For her part she was absolutely hospitable but her children were going to do what they very well wanted and were going to protect their mother. Her hands were tied theirs were not. She needed to be better than the slavers and I think she accomplished her part splendidly. Was it Danny's job to see their safety? Sure she did too, she did all she was able and was awesome. It's honestly so smart of her for what she did everywhere and continues to do. Book Danny is the bamf and makes me seriously despise the show for butchering her legacy and her ending.
