coming to you with more of my hcs today it's what happens when you've been recognized as a purgatory leader! it's not good ! cw for mild body horror mention and also eyes :3

as it states on the ref sheet, the eye shit. Hurts. like a lot it's mostly bad at the beginning, then ebbs out to a kind of mild, unending headache i'd like to think that it's to put a damper on the teams by physically hindering their leaders AND constantly reminding all of them that the "world" has their eyes on them. aside from the glowing on the eyes, certain accents on extremities will also glow! for instance, on phil's injured wing, some of his feathers are lined with red light, and on etoiles' leaf-tail-thing, the ends of the veins on his leaves will shine green also, to expand on the pupil-less members: pupil shape can vary BUT if you've been corrupted by the code, like etoiles, then your pupils take on the 1s and 0s of the binary designs ! personally i think that every blink can change the order of the 1s and 0s and even spell out a message but that's just a headcanon. a rainy headcanon /ref AND ! when leadership is stripped away whenever the teams finally leave purgatory (or a leader is forcefully removed from power...) the eye branding will fade BUUUUT they will leave scars + glow under extreme stress! effects on eyes will fade completely and phantom pains will sometimes crop up around branding ah, purgatory event my beloved (please let them go home to their kids i'm not gonna make it if these islanders don't get a happy ending)

I'll do wholesome facts first:

~ Sun will visit shelters to spend time with the cats. He will even help out with adoption events to make sure they go to loving homes.

~Sun and Moon will babysit for parents who need someone to watch their kids. Those are hilarious and interesting adventures on their own.

~Sun's cheeks are buttons. When pressed at the same time, his rays spin.

~There is an annual fair that happens in town. Sun and Moon help fund it and provide entertainment for kids, reliving some of their daycare days. They will act as clowns.

~I've mentioned this before, but the boys will often help around with charity work, acting as good Samaritans.

~Sun owns lots of sweaters, some he owns multiple pairs of because they're his favorites.

~Moon still has his music box. He will play music to calm and comfort an upset child.

Disturbing facts under the cut:

~Sun has an extremely morbid curiosity, and will often act on those thoughts. He sometimes gets carried away and needs Moon to pull him out of it, otherwise he will...indulge.

~Sun and Moon will sometimes make games out of their torture sessions with Rulebreakers. Games sometimes lead to sibling banter, and often express their frustration on the Rulebreaker.

~Sun has once stabbed a Rulebreaker with one of his own rays. Repeatedly.

~Both Sun and Moon have broken, torn and bitten off fingers of Rulebreakers. Their bite force is strong enough to do so.

~Sun and Moon's mouths can open. Nobody knows, except for Rulebreakers.

~Moon has a great many knives at his disposal and will use them for various uses. Flaying, slicing, stabbing, etc.

~Sun and Moon have practiced body anatomy on cadavers, learning where to cause damage without immediately killing their targets. Example, they know where the main arteries are, so when they slice or stab, the target doesn't immediately bleed to death.

We got to thinking of how Irkens have essentially traded their natural bodies to become fused to technology. Metal and wires and boundless knowledge. In the presence of The Control Brains, what are humans but meat, blood, and bone? Even more so...what are we but our central nervous system? All that we are is harbored in a three pound organ floating in liquid within our skulls. For such a pitiful creature of flesh, is it not impressive to fend off an Invader all alone? But would the creature ever yearn to be something more? In turn, he offers all that he is.

Again, not my fav, the struggle is real yall, but I can't not put it out here. I spent far more time and effort on those Hamato patterns than I want to admit to.

Anyway, my plan for the Ronin AU is kinda like Dororo, with a modern, domestic strike to it. I just want to explore the world of the Apocalypse with these two wandering around.

Writing Update: Splatterpunk Novel

I'm co-writing a splatterpunk horrormance with @arndtezra and we're on 80K, with the epilogue written and only 3 scenes of the climax left to go.

I made a temporary cover for it: this is NOT the final one, but we may go with a similar vibe! Unsure yet.

Premise: An eldritch snuff film star who believes murder is performance art falls for a sado-masochistic devolving hitman working for her gangster uncle, despite their relationship being out-of-bounds.

Setting: Brighton, England (with flashbacks/refs to Chicago, IL, USA)

Structure: Dual POV, his/hers, following/subverting a romance novel format. The male POV is in US English, the female POV is in British English.

MCs: Bisexual allo(?) guy (USA), greyromantic allosexual/hypersexual het-ish girl (UK). Both are villains.

Side Characters: Gay [British] guy running the tech side of the snuff film business in "love" triangle with MCs (love is a loose term here); eldritch gangster and his family of abominations; snuff film producer; runaway sister of male MC; rescue cat belonging to female MC.

Background Characters: Eldritch family members; detective ex-boyfriend of male MC [Chicago-based]; ex-boss of male MC in Chicago; various people the female MC sleeps with/kills; wife of runaway sister and best friend of runaway sister.

Warnings/Content Notes: Extreme horror scenes including a lot of gore, graphic violence inc castration, strong/graphic language (obviously), stalking, abuse of privacy, toxic familial and romantic relationships, incestuous sibling, homicidal rescue cat (who doesn't die and is not hurt at all), devolving character arcs ("I can make him worse <3"), coerced acid trip in a church leading to blasphemous use of the Eucharist, religious trauma, homophobic family & related trauma in a US context, kinky sex and masturbation scenes inc knife play and erotic asphyxiation, dub con, no redemption arcs, body horror.

Chapter 1: Arrival (Phone Dave Rewrite)

(Do not expect updates to be this frequent I’m just really into this RN)

“Hello there future Freddy’s employe- owner-“ Jack skips through the tape, nothing useful, since when was his first Boss a spokesperson anyway?

He puts in another tape, getting started. “Corporate gave me a very long script about the importance of phone guys, but I’m not reading it. If you hope to run any kind of successful business you’ll need a phone guy. We have a vast catalogue with varying prices ranging from Free, to $500k, which is my price. We do taxes, frame employees, run the entire place when you aren’t around, and some of us don’t even know who we are and haven’t been able to recover our memories yet. So if you want to run a business at all, get a phone while they’re still in stock. Put the next tape in to-“ Jack shuts off the tape and opens up the company website, going to the phone guy page.

Out of stock the tape had said… the reality was anything but, even with how many had left the company there were thousands of phones. And since they marked their own prices, accounting for experience, of which most had quite a bit, $500k wasn’t THAT crazy anymore.

Just to check if the tape was true Jack checks the page for the phone on the tape. “Steven Stevenson.” That’s… a name. $1500k Inflation huh. The tape was kind of old.

Jack has a grand total of $12.50 after buying the restaurant, $12.50 he planned on spending on weed. He clicked on a tab for cheap phones, $700 was the lowest amount. Still way too much. He sighs, almost ready to give up when he sees there is a free tab.

The free phones were apparently sold separately to the standard paid variety, with their own tab.

This was perfect! He could just get as many free phones as he wants! Foolproof!

He clicks on the free tab to see exactly one phone. He is now highly concerned. He had assumed the free ones were defective but only one… were they cursed or something?

Jack, being as high as he is and this unlearning the fear of death, clicks on the page. “Model number 51_02.” No name. This was looking great wasn’t it?

As there was no profile picture aside from a poorly taken photo of what looks like a purple finger covering half the lense with a purple and white phone in the background, Jack moves on to the info.

“51_02 has yet to remember anything, and despite company knowledge of his name, this information has been redacted from files. Phone is marketed as free despite having worked at over 2000 locations before the business model shift that granted phones basic human rights, this was done at his own request. Frequently used to open locations with a fierce loyalty to the company and seeming enjoyment of his job allowing him to be great for new locations, however this phone also behaved in a rather unsettling manner that drove off customers after the first few months at every location. A good phone to start but a horrible one longterm.”

Jack leans back in his chair, exasperated. If this phone is like this he’d be terrible for Jack. He opened the location to lure Dave back and get more weed money. This phone sounded obnoxious and the lack of any elaboration on what exactly he does that drives away customers was… well… suspicious. Jack didn’t overly CARE about the location he just wanted it open long enough Dave would take notice, but a phone that’s got nothing but AI and love for the company?

Jack decides to keep trying to find out more, maybe this phone could help him.

Medical records… no other phone had these… great.

“51_02 has a variety of strange medical issues. He seems to have some kind of rare skin condition causing a scaly off-colour appearance, it seems to not be causing him any physical harm but it is deeply unpleasant to look at. His skin has a number of surgical scars of unknown origin. Due to unfortunately being taller than the height cap the machine removed parts of his anatomy to fit, this resulted in fragile bones, severe muscle atrophy, and some parts of his skeletal structure such as the ribs being oversized.”

The text is followed immediately by a few images, the first showing him without a suit to show the body structure issues… wooo boy were there more than were mentioned. An unusually extended neck buckling under the weight of the phone, a seeming lack of any volume in the midsection, phones do tend to be skinny, losing some fat reserves, but it looks like he was free of any organs, and what looks to be claws poking out of his finger tips. His whole body is swathed in medical gauze and bandages seemingly only there to hide his skin.

Jack sighs in pity for the phone and nearly scrolls past the second picture, but manages to notice it just in time.

His blood runs cold… er than it normally is.

The image is of the phone standing awkwardly wearing no shirt with all the bandages and gauze missing from his body, revealing somewhat scaly bright purple skin.

Everything seems to fall into place in Jack’s constantly drugged mind. Well… some things. “Dave…” he mutters. “That’s where you went…” the man says, running his hand over the screen and then. Scrolling up to hit “add to cart”.

…

It only took a day for Dave to be delivered, a company guarantee. Jack hadn’t slept that night. He cried a lot. But he didn’t sleep.

What else do you do when you hear your boyfriend from the 80s who you thought abandoned you in Vegas turned out to have been transformed into a deformed phone guy who still was trapped under the AI even today and apparently liked the company now?

Dave was delivered in a box, a common practice back in the day. Jack drags the heavy box inside and opens it, before he even finishes the phone pops his head out. Metal. Shockingly well kept, as if repainted frequently.

“Hello? Hello? Hello? My name is Scott Cawthon I’ll be your new manager how can I help you today?” The phone says, Jack almost falls over hearing the Scott voice coming from his old “friend” from the 80s.

Jack gives the phone an uncomfortable smile. He remembers Dave being MUCH taller than him, now the height difference is minimal.

He reaches up and puts his hand on the phone’s shoulder. “Uhhh… hi sir? Are you ok?”

Jack starts crying and hugs the phone.

The phone guy responds awkwardly. “W-wow this place is a dump. I’ll get right to work cleaning it up.” He wedges Jack off himself and goes to get a broom without saying another word.

In the OG they just opened her up and didn't touch any of her vital organs. They just investigated the acid organ and closed her up.

The new design is PURELY cartoon logic.

Oh THIS is a fun one >:D

Leo: He would ABSOLUTELY be out for blood. Very torturous death, he'd make sure the whole world knew they suffered GREATLY before they died. An unrecognizable body by the end. Days on end of torture. With pictures to match. He'd show the brother that was hurt, too. To help them feel better :] if they had any friends, family, coworkers, etc. They'd be finding pieces of the body in their goddamn COFFEE for weeks (hyperbole but still)

Mikey: similar to Leo, but probably much less intentional. He'd hang them with wire, set the house on fire, etc etc. He'd leave their body in the street with, like, 'pig' and stuff carved into them. If not getting them in the Nexus and making sure they're mauled to death in front of the entire yokai world. To help the brother, he would just sit and hug with them until he knew they were OK (then pretend that that never happened and it was NOT emotionally vulnerable just then)

Donnie: similar to Leo, at least in the torture bit! He would, like, turn them into the walrus from Tusk 2014 (be VERY cautious looking it up, it's very upsetting and disturbing body horror. Just know it is very. Nasty). He would probably melt them in acid so there wasn't a trace of them left, maybe keep a jaw bone or vertebrae to gift to the hurt brother. They'd make sure they recovered well and probably let them watch movies/TV on his phone to be nice.

Raph: crush them into a paste with his bare hands. Leave them to suffocate on their own blood in the street. Sit with his brother and keep them company. Maybe let them snuggle with Cuddles if they were REALLY REALLY hurt.

April: ruin their life with blackmail and stuff. It it was a yokai, where she has less access to that info, a bit of good old violence never hurt. A curbstomping, nail bat maiming, etc etc.
