Can we send asks to the cats? If so
Jaggedtail, why did you say that about Rosehipkit? That's a cynical way to think, that she just won't get better. Don't you have any faith in Wildfirecry?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oops sad again. Anyway…

Don’t worry he got got. Wildfirecry was not gonna let that slide.

Yesterday Odesa said goodbye to Ketty the dog, killed by a russian cluster missile on April 29th.
Many dogs were present at the farewell ceremony for Ketty, including dogs who work in Ukrainian Emergency Services. This farewell was to honor the memory of all animals who became victims of this horrible unjust war.

I love how unbelievably fucked up pretty much all baby birds look. Horrid squirming naked things. Delightfully muppet-like. These are just two of the many charming possibilities. Come with me. Take my hand. We will explore it all together.

STORIES FROM THE OUTLANDS: SURVIVE

Here is a cautionary tale. With spring coming people are going to be hatching chicks for the first time and i need to impart some wisdom since some hatching guides may not mention it.
After your chicks hatch, DO NOT REMOVE THEM INTILL THEY ARE FULLY DRY! Chicks can stay in the incubator for up to 48 hours, if your new to hatching chicks there is no reason for you to remove a baby before it is fully dry. If you remove them and place them in a brooder where the temperature is under a 100 degrees Fahrenheit they will die. Naturally a broody hens tempature is around 107, this is the natural temp that chicks hatch, dry off, and keep warm with and with mechanical incubators we try to emulate that as close as possible. Removing wet chicks to a brooder in the open air will cause their temperature plummet then they will start to crash and die.
Below is a sad example of what i am talking about. These chicks were hatched this morning and removed to soon to a brooder that was reading in the low 90s with a heat source coming from above- nowhere near warm enough for the wet and exhuasted babies to survive. Sadly they all passed away due to this mistake.

These chicks were still wet and completely exhuasted from hatching so their poor little bodies couldnt handle being moved to such a cold brooder.

I honestly think we've reached absolute Pit Social Media when the images of deceased infants get meme-ed around because "lololol IT looks so stupid IT looks so fake IT is obviously a doll haha let's have some fun here hahaha". And they know dead bodies only from how they're made to look in movies OR maybe open-casket funerals where a mortician worked their ass off for the family to have a pretty corpse to say their goodbyes to.
I. Honestly.
I can't even wrap my mind around how devoid of humanity some people are. All of this has really opened my eyes about the people around me.
Tell them - and they don't even know what death looks like - that a real human person in distress is "actually an actor/a prop/a doll" and they're meme-ing the shit out of anh atrocity.
That's how corpses become internet fun memes. A big party for everyone. Because we're upholding CiViLiSaTiOn here and sHoWiNg ThEm TeRroRiStS.
As a kid, I was stupid enough to ask myself, how could anyone stand by when the Holocaust happen.
Now I know the people around us wouldn't only stand by, they would cheerfully join in AND make socmed memes about it. Because "hahaha those aren't real people, it's all a big movie stage - and if they were real, they'd DESERVE it".
I can't go back to seeing people like I did before.

my beloved Kater Klaus is gone
Tumblr media
After over a month of vet visits, different medications and various blood and other tests to try to figure out why he wasn’t eating and why he was anemic we finally found out he had a tumor in his heart. Today, two days later, we had to let him go so he wouldn’t hurt anymore. He died at home in my arms, thanks to our amazing vet who arranged everything.
He was a wonderful cat and I already miss him so much
Please hug your pets from me

This is Strider! He’s a “wolf ambassador” from the nonprofit organization Apex Protection Project’s sanctuary in Acton, CA. He was rushed to the emergency room yesterday and is currently undergoing a plasma transfusion to stabilize him before he goes to another hospital for overnight care. Apex needs to raise $10,000 (a cost that is steadily rising!) to cover his medical needs.
Strider first came to Apex with a broken skull when his owner tried to kill him. He’s a beautiful and incredible example of perseverance and survival and a reminder of all that apex predators—and biodiversity in general—do for our planet! It’s up to us to help them! Please donate to Apex Protection Project on their website or their Instagram and help save Strider!
