Heyooo! Thanks for the delightful prompt. I'm sorry it's sat in my inbox for ages. How would you feel about some Cullbastian? With the added spice of my sorry ass Inquisitor William Trevelyan getting his heart stomped on?

Nobody had expected The Prince of Starkhaven to come in person upon the acceptance of his offer of aid. Least of all Cullen.

Surely the word of his involvement had reached Sebastian's ears; Josephine knew the man to keep well informed of all the movers in Southern politics.

The very same Josephine had insisted upon his attendance of this formal dinner. Bad etiquette for the commander to skip negotiating matters pertaining to forces.

So here he sits, in his scratchy formals, eating food that tastes like ash. Laughing at jokes that don't quite register. Ignoring William's insistent hand creeping up his thigh.

Sebastian, on the opposite side of the table, radiates warmth and confidence. Lips stretched in a wide smile, revealing perfect teeth. Precise in his words, meeting Josephine toe to toe.

"Why don't we get out of here?" William whispers into his ear when no-one's looking.

Cullen's stomach coils — his eyes squeeze shut.

It's not that he doesn't love William. He does.

But had there ever been a real chance... Had life gone differently, had the circumstances not been stacked against them...

"Commander, are you feeling all right?"

Cullen snaps from his thoughts. It's Cassandra who speaks, but he finds Sebastian gazing at him with concern, a hint of regret in his eyes. And as always, his heart skips a beat.

"Quite fine."

William squeezes his hand, smiling charmingly at Sebastian: "The Commander has caught a flu, but he is too proud and hardworking to admit it."

Cullen plays along, and the dinner continues in much the same manner. Laughs are had, plans are made, input is offered and requested, and maps are marked. Signatures signed.

At last, their plates are empty and beds call — Cullen follows William out of the dining hall. Only to be caught by Sebastian.

"A word, Commander?"

William lifts a brow, but seems to read the room. He shoots Cullen a private smile and bids Sebastian goodnight, then turns on his heels and leaves.

Silence stretches as Cullen's colleagues vacate the room, each eager to rest. It's only once they're alone that Sebastian speaks.

"I shouldn't have come here," he starts quietly. "I didn't realise you were..."

Cullen says nothing, biting on the inside of his cheeks.

"...spoken for."

His eyes close at the words. "Am I to understand you came here for me?"

Sebastian shuffles on his feet, looking away. Before he speaks, he clears his throat and nods. "I thought... hm... that now would be a good time. To be together."

A sad smile curls Cullen's lips. His throat constricts, strangling his voice unusable. He does the only thing he can; pulls Sebastian against himself. Wraps his arms around him.

"It should have been you," he whispers, a mountain of regret falling upon him. Truer words he's never spoken. It's always been him. It will always be him.

Sebastian nods into his shoulder, ever understanding. Holding on tight, as if making every moment count.

"I never thought..." Cullen trails off, shaking his head. "No, I didn't believe you'd still feel something for me, after all this time. And William... well, William is a force of nature."

"You should be with him." Sebastian pulls out of the embrace slowly and regretfully, swallowing. There's a sheen in his eyes that probably mirrors Cullen's own. "He needs you."

They stand there in the light of the torches, their eyes speaking in the wordless language perfected so long ago in empty corridors and Chantry halls. Everything that was, and what could have been hanging between them.

"What if I need you?" Cullen asks at last, his voice softer than a whisper.

Sebastian takes his hand, holding it between his own. A spark of hope in his eyes.

"Then come to me after all of this is through. Come to me as a free man."

Cullen sighs, squeezing Sebastian's hand. He's waited for years, and he'll wait for as many more that's needed. But when Sebastian turns to leave, Cullen's heart has never been heavier; the world could end tomorrow.

This could be the last time they meet.

Chapter 16: The Crimson Council

After long months of planning, the delegation to address the growing problem of red lyrium finally takes place. But for all her meticulous planning, there's one thing Theresa hasn't accounted for.

Several voices rise at once, some concurring and some dissenting, and already Theresa sees things getting horribly sidetracked. She raps loudly on the table with one of her paperweights, waiting for enough of the din to quiet down before shooting Varric a pleading glance. He quickly clears his throat and raises both hands in a conciliatory gesture. “Let’s keep this on task, shall we? Our first and biggest problem is that we’ve all found ways to deal with it on a smaller scale, but those methods are either temporary, ineffective, or impractical on the scale we’re talking about. And to stop this, we’ve got to think big. Continent-big.” Feynriel crosses his arms and gives a thoughtful frown. “For the sake of argument, what happens if we do nothing? Nature is incredibly adaptable – isn’t there any chance that things will work themselves out?” Everyone grows still, looking to Theresa and Varric, who share another grave look. “No,” Theresa says flatly. “There’s no chance. I’ve seen firsthand the damage it will do if left unchecked. It will eat the world.” Feynriel eyes her warily. “Figuratively?” “Literally.” The note of silence that follows is chilling. But at least now, everyone understands the stakes.

He heard a cry, a scream of anguish before he saw who it was, but deep down he knew, in his soul he already knew. He had been making his way to your house to check up on you when he heard that cry and it broke something within him. How could someone who had sworn that they loved and cared for you, someone as brilliant and talented as Y/N, his best friend, be left heartbroken after her family had already abandoned her. As soon as you appeared in the window your heart broke further, seeing Y/N in a heap on the floor, a broken mess had you feeling guilty for not being here sooner.

“Oh Y/N, my sweet Y/N” you say as you make your way to her side and she throws herself into your lap. You knew that since her parents had abandoned her and she had begun living with her aunt and uncle she wanted nothing but love, they wanted to be touched, to be loved, to be missed. Was that too much to ask? You think it wasn’t, you cared so deeply for her, but she had already lost so much you couldn’t make a promise to her now when everyone else had left and so you just sat with her, a hand running through her hair as you made a promise to yourself instead. I’m here.

Masterlist

I'm new-ish to writing (i used to write fanfiction when i was like 13. i'm 18 now soo..) but I really wanna do it again.

So this is a list of characters/fandoms I write for as well as some rules for asks. Some things may be missing from this list so if you dont see something on this list, feel free to ask. :))

I will add a prompt list to this blog soon but again feel free to request other scenarious. Do add as much detail as you want to a request and please ALWAYS have at least some sort of prompt, as i'm really not good with coming up with storys on my own yet.

I’ll probably ink + color this later, but for now I just wanted to get this AU idea out there. A Mass Effect Andromeda x Dragon Age AU, because of course.

Marian Hawke:

Having come to Andromeda with her younger siblings in hopes of starting a new life after their parents died, Marian was initially a part of the Nexus’s security team. She was trained as a powerful biotic as well as a skilled medic. After the Andromeda Initiative proved incompetent (at least, in her eyes), she grabbed her siblings and joined the other exiles on Kadara Port.

The Hawke family soon established themselves as a trio of talented mercenaries and smugglers, and found more success on their own than they ever would’ve had they stayed with the Initiative.

At least, that’s what Marian figured. Her view on the Initiative begins to change when she crosses paths with the human Pathfinder…

Sebastian Vael:

As the grandson of one of the first humans to go through a mass relay and explore beyond their solar system, Sebastian always dreamed of following in his grandfather’s footsteps. Following a troubled youth, he got back on track with his dream when he joined the Alliance and rose through the ranks, eventually earning the coveted N7 designation and the praise of his superiors. His military career drew the attention of an Andromeda Initiative recruiter, who came to him with the opportunity of a lifetime.

Sebastian eagerly accepted her proposal, though many raised an eyebrow at such a young man being named Pathfinder. He was determined to prove his worth, and to many, he earned that respect as he rose to every challenge Andromeda threw at him.

Still, there are many who continue to scoff at his youth, and yet more disagree with his decisions. It doesn’t help that there’s a rumor flying about that claims Sebastian has become romantically involved with the infamous exile and smuggler, Marian Hawke.

Hildegarde Trevelyan:

Hildegarde’s entire family joined the Initiative, and she wound up getting swept along with them. That isn’t to say she doesn’t believe in the Initiative’s mission, but she was hesitant at the prospect of never returning to her home galaxy.

Her anxiety was calmed somewhat when she learned that a childhood friend of hers was going to be their Pathfinder, and that he’d asked for her specifically due to her background as a xenoanthropologist — someone who studies other alien cultures would surely be an asset in a new, uncharted galaxy. And because she’s a trained biotic, she was put on Sebastian’s ground team.

Hildegarde flourishes in the new galaxy, finding a confidence and sense of self-worth that had eluded her back in the Milky Way. And it’s with this newfound confidence that she decides a pursue a relationship with Cullen, a Nexus militia fighter who joined their team after their arrival.

Cullen Rutherford:

A model Alliance soldier, Cullen opted to join the Andromeda Initiative after he became enamored with the idea of pioneering a new era of space exploration. However, while that’s partially true, the main reason he joined the Initiative was for a new beginning; a mission gone horribly wrong back in the Milky Way left him the sole survivor of his unit, and he was traumatized as a result. While he was eventually declared fit for duty, he found it difficult to focus when nearly everything reminded him of those awful days.

Going to Andromeda got him away from those reminders, while still giving him the chance to do something good. He joined the Nexus’s security division, briefly met Marian while there, and fought on the Initiative’s side during the rebellion, though his faith in the Initiative had begun to waver.

With the arrival of the human Pathfinder and an ark, however, he found a renewed sense of purpose, asking to be placed on the Pathfinder’s crew. Sebastian welcomed him to the team, and Cullen found himself growing unexpectedly close to their resident xenoanthropologist, Hildegarde.

Chapter 15: An Enchanted Prince

Kirkwall welcomes the arrival of the Prince of Starkhaven… and his enchanting companion.

“No one appreciates the necessity of cooperation more than I,” Vivienne begins in silk-swaddled tones, “but before cooperation, there must first be trust.” Her eyes find Theresa’s, sharp and elegant as a stiletto hidden inside a sleeve. The challenge is made. Theresa dabs her mouth with her napkin before rising to meet it, bracing herself against the fresh wave of nausea the motion summons. “You are quite right,” she says, directing her focus, not at Vivienne, but at Sebastian. “Trust has been broken, and I would like to make amends.” She reaches inside her robes to pull forth a small, slender package, and slides it across the polished wood. Sebastian catches it with the reflexes of a skilled warrior, unwrapping it to reveal a leatherbound journal, worn slightly at the corners and lightly splattered with dark stains, but otherwise intact. “That was stolen from your private quarters,” she continues. “Stolen by agents under my orders.”
