Alrighty, it’s 2 in the morning and I’m in the mood to (over)share. I’ve been working on a Chainsaw Man playlist for the past few weeks and have been considering what sounds I think fit each character. u know what. the worst part about chapter 137 and 138 of csm is the fact that yoshida set this whole thing up. what the fuck is he doing. what is the plan u fucking zest fest. did he really try to get denji laid and after that get him beat up. for what. is some anti-chainsaw man organization involved in this or did yoshida do this for shits and giggles. something is wrong with him. u were supposed to be better. i hope denji murders that girl btw.

He's gentle

I think he wants to be, most of the time, even when his world wasn't made to embrace gentleness at all.

Whenever I listen to "touch tank" I can't help but think of Aki. I know, it is that kind of sappy love song that doesn't leave you alone once it has reached your ears somehow. It only gets worse when you have someone to think about as the melody runs free in your headphones during your way home.

On my way home, Aki's usually in my mind.

I don't know if I find it endearing or embarrassing the way a fictional man makes me feel so many things, but I accept the feelings at the end of the day because there's no place for rejection when it comes to him. Such a sensitive character couldn't make me feel any other way.

At first I thought it was an intimate thing, maybe one of those connections your brain makes because of very specific moments in your lifetime. My life is all about tangled connections, it didn't freak me out. That week Chainsaw Man's 4th chapter came out and we were all falling deeper because of Aki's morning routine. He seemed calm and collected, comforting and, well, gentle. The word 'gentle' fitted him nicely, as if you could find a picture of him after searching for the meaning in the dictionary.

I have this (really) average hobby of making playlists about whatever situation or person comes across my mind. My favorite season, hypothetical scenarios I would love to be involved in, my most beloved kpop boys and, of course, the characters I obsess over without even realizing. I had to make one for Aki after the touch tank discovery and I was extremely excited by my new personal assignment.

Before making the playlist I wanted to feel closer to the character since I read the manga last autumn, so I searched for my favorite Hayakawa moments on it, even the ones who still manage to break my heart after all this time. My association was not as out of place as I believed at first glance.

Blue shirt out the laundry, an empty living room, one cup of black coffee every morning. He's so used to loneliness and the silence usually accompanying it. When he's out of work and all the violence it carries with, his manners are filled with peace and quiet. One would think he doesn't now about being caring, about being gentle when his life has bring an unbearable amount of pain for his hands to take, for his eyes to witness. But he knows about it to the core, he manged to after all.

Of course, there's sorrow and rage covering his gaze from time to time. He also likes to make the world remember about his unshakable hatred for demons at any given opportunity. But were his bare hands the ones to risk his whole being to save one of those heartless creatures he reserves his merciless for, and were his eyes the ones to shed tears for the happiness of the two loud devils he ended up loving like family.

Aki's gentle when he wants to be, so I think he wants to, even in a city that doesn't allow gentleness at all, even for people who never seemed to hear about the word before.
