this morning i forgot that boruto was a real show and got whiplash when i saw a post talking about it. i was like “woah the naruto sequel that my friend and i made up is really popular huh.” i have never watched boruto but i have passing knowledge of some events. and my friend created the masterpiece which is their version of the boruto divorce arc in which sakura gets one of sasuke’s sharingan eyes in the divorce and ino is hokage. kakashi is a lawyer.

First impression

ok well first impression i saw him in a gifset like early 2019 maybe?? made from one of the trailers and i was like that character design is fun! i did not yet know who he was <3 but like first time i actually watched promare i just LOVED him. and it has not changed! i expected lio to be my favorite from trailers bc vaguely kurapika vibes and that was like, the 2 weeks in september 2019 that promare was KICKING on tumblr so everyone was comparing him to kurapika. ANYWAY THIS ISNT ABOUT LIO I LOVED GALO A LOT FROM THE 1ST TIME I WATCHED IT

Impression now

my love has only grown <3 like i generally have a character in something that i zero in on and decide is my favorite but galo is like literally my favorite character ever i adore him. hes a great character! still underrated (though lio deserves all the love he gets <3) i could talk about him for hours and i mean. technically i have if you count how much time ive spent writing about promare.

oh man what to even pick. i love when he gives a powerpoint presentation in the middle of a fight

someday im gonna write the anthrocon medic galo x fursuiter lio who passes out from heat exhaustion au

i think most of my opinions about galo are unpopular opinions. that hes not stupid? thats a big one

him and lio :) that everything about the movie is set up to constantly remind you they are gay and falling in love is a fantastic experience i will never get over

im pretty sure i liked him a lot from the beginning but i dont remember very well? he was def one of my fave chars when i was an fma blog bc i wrote a lot of meta about him and had him as my icon lol. hes the only character i think looks ok w that hairstyle. the bangs? not sure what that part of the hair is called

oh man i dont know.. that 03 ed is a good character? 03 ed and BH ed both start from the manga and BH stays on track w the manga mostly but 03 ed deviates a lot and i dont agree w ppl saying that that makes him a ‘worse’ character than manga/BH ed inherently. taking his character in a dif direction subtly at first but making that gap wider the further the story goes to ultimately get to a dif place is cool! i like that 03 really did its own thing i respect that. i like that 03 ed rly did start out at the same place but his experiences were different than manga ed so he had to make different choices and his character changed from that.

also he shouldve stayed short but thats probably not. unpopular idk

I got fern paragon in ur quiz‼

nice! as promised, here are a few more details about fern:

fern is a literal angel

she works in the plane of the afterlife as, essentially, a ‘social worker’ for demons and ghosts with unjudged souls

her official job title is ‘protectorate’

she could probably also be considered a ‘guardian angel’ because, from time to time, she does have to check in on people who are still living - including her parents, who outlived her

fern controls a pocket dimension; it resembles the house she lived in with her parents from 1969 (when she was 12) to 1981 - it was a 1930s midwestern farm house where they kept a few different animals (namely flemish giant rabbits) and grew strawberries

fern was a big farm kid! she participated in stuff like 4H and raised her rabbits well

her parents were rose and arthur paragon; her mother was a high school science teacher and her father was a political science professor who both retired when fern was about 12 years old to move away from the east coast. they settled in the midwest and homeschooled fern

fern still had a lot of conventional/public school friends - she had a group of friends who were known to be quite outcast but she would join them on friday nights to go to their schools’ respective football games during the fall season

she often feels like she’s become a totally different person since the event of her death; originally, the afterlife as a location really freaked her out? but after being offered the protectorate job by an angel (who ranked above her in the hierarchy) she came to rethink a lot of the things she used to believe in her lifetime

her middle name is daphne :)

hmm probably more complex poses, backgrounds, and things that require straight lines (i have a really shaky hand and have a tendency to make messy lines and prefer rounded edges; even though there is the line making tool, i’m way too impatient to use it lol)

these goals overlap between general art goals and digital art specific goals! i’m trying to diversify my expressions, designs, and compositions! also trying to use more complementary color palettes and vary my brushes & coloring techniques

somewhat! i’ve been trying to challenge myself more lately with more complex backgrounds and compositions, and it has been fun to see the results of my efforts, but also i’m lazy a lot of the time so i don’t overdo it! when i do too much to challenge myself, i get frustrated and give up really easily

popular anime you didn’t like: i could state the obvious ones i despise but truthfully the ones i really hate i’ve steered clear from and never watched in the first place (hetal*a, snk). i didn’t like kill la kill that much :/ and i unfortunately watched the entire thing lmao. my brother tried to get me to watch bnha but after episode 2 i stopped because i hated it so much lmfao... idk if seven deadly sins is popular but i didn’t like that one either. i started watching it bc one of my favorite coworkers said she liked it but i didn’t really see the appeal & i hated the sexism vehemently 🥴

anime that should get more attention from others: the tatami galaxy!!!!

anime that made you cry & when: hhh does it count if it’s a movie? bc the very first time was when the local black box theater in my area screened the spirited away dub. i was like 5 years old and i went to it with my cousins and remembered crying when chihiro remembered haku’s real name all the way through to the end credits & i didn’t stop crying until we were at the donut shop on our way home jfkdjfjfj .....i know i definitely cried a few times when i watched fruits basket for the first time (and again when i watched the reboot but i blame half of those tears on my post-op hormones lmao) when momiji told tohru about his mom and when tohru confronted kyo in his monster-form. there’s also the girl who leapt through time which made em sob uncontrollably. the entire last 20 minutes of the girl who leapt through time and summer wars wreck me like none other. naruto made me cry when they k*lled off haku... and UGH and the tatami galaxy, made me cry but for happy reasons!! that whole final episode was like a massive cathartic happy-cry session for me wtf.,
