From the minute Gwydion arrived in Arvore, he was enamoured with you.

Seeing you for the first time in the throne room was certainly an experience.

He was not someone that experienced attraction much, especially this intense.

As King he didn’t entertain those sorts of feelings as he didn’t want them to interfere with his duty to his people.

But here you were. You were unlike anything or anyone he’d ever seen before.

During his stay there, he would always try and find ways to spend time with you and see you. He’d even go on walks through the garden hoping to spot you there.

Gwydion has the unique ability to feed needs, so overtime he was able to sense and feel your needs.

And your needs and desires where not for him, but one of the other ambassadors.

He knew this. The entire time he knew this.

But that didn’t stop him from falling for you.

He knew it would only lead to his own pain in the end, but that didn’t matter.

Gwydion had never thought he’d feel this. He had heard his entire life about the intense love people can have for each other. For in his culture, they believed in star-mates. And at first he had though you were his.

Another practice he had grown up with was an old practice. It was a ritual that involved sharing your magic with someone you shared a bond with.

After your joint encounter with the dark magic, he had been toying with the idea of asking you to undergo the ritual with him. He saw your potential and wanted nothing more than to share his magic, and that bond with you.

But, he saw how the two of you got along. He could feel how much you cared for and needed each other.

He couldn’t ruin that, no matter how much he felt for you.

He vows to be your ally and friend, and to be there for you whenever you need it.

After your coronation, he goes back home.

It takes him a while to open his heart up but, eventually he does….thanks to you.

You had shown him what it could feel like to truly love another person like that, and even though he couldn’t be with you it didn’t mean that he could never feel that again.

Loving you taught him pain and love, and that is something he thanks you greatly for.

He won’t lose his love for you, but he eventually finds peace and moves on.

Will probably not tell you about how he loved you, unless you ask.

BACKGROUND.

Eli always knew he was meant to be the high lord, even if he knew he would never get it. His father was only high lord a few years before his sudden death. He and his siblings were taken in by his father's second in command, a strong man with a wise and sweet heart. Eli grew to detest him.

When he was old enough to start acting out, he did. His temper grew shorter and he started to really take note of the world around him. He started to speak less and it started to concern a lot of people... He used to be a talkative, happy kid.

At the same time, his mother started to become depressed over the death of his father. He and his siblings tried to keep their mother happy as long as they could but the only thing she held onto was that one day, she could see his father again.

Although, as he got older - his mother started to get happier again and that was because of the new high lord, his fathers second in command.

By the time he was a teenager, the two of them had remarried and Eli's anger and resentment continued to build. He almost refused to talk to either of them for years, just as he started to plot his revenge and his first step was to take out the heir.

Growing up, he and Richard's son were the best of friends, one day he thought they would be like their fathers. When Eli realized that his friend would be the heir and not him, the young fae took matters into his own hands. It was labelled an accident, of course, Eli was devastated about it. There was a funeral and a period of mourning.

Years later, Eli took his second more important plan into action. He had worked hard to get close with the new lord, as well as reconnecting with his mother. He was the next in line, of course.

When the lord mysteriously died, Eli managed everything. He played the role of the devoted son so well and he was rewarded. The new high lord of spring was crowned.

He has always and still, keeps his siblings at an arms length but now that he has been the lord a while, things are starting to become trickier. Eli's way of ruling was harsh and he only sought out more power. He was starting to become what he always wanted, though. To him, that was the greatest reward... Even if he had no one to share it with along the way.

“Navy then,” Templeton accepted the correction gracefully, testing the draw on his pipe. Satisfied, he stood up to light the pipe at the fireplace. “Whichever it is, they seem intent to stretch your neck so avoiding the British in general is likely your best decision right now.” Grabbing a spill from the jar he kept on the mantle, something in Theo’s words struck Templeton’s ears oddly. Turning toward the other man, he tilted his head. “The riots in Boston? You mean the Massacre?” His brows pulled together. That had been roughly eight years ago, and was widely considered the flashpoint for the whole sorry mess the continent was in now. He had been in his twenties then—twenty-four if his math was correct (which he slightly doubted)—and the four of them had been on the run from the British for nearly two years at that point. That was the very reason they had all agreed to stay away from Boston, or any other large city with a strong British presence. None of them were eager to be returned to their prison ship for the miserable trip to London for their court martial. The very thought of taking a sea voyage made Templeton’s stomach churn. It was bad enough at fifteen when the army booted him out to the Colonies. After finally landing on North America’s shores, haggard and borderline-emancipated, Templeton swore he would rather die then make the return voyage to England. Now, as fate would have it, if he did try to return to that blasted island, he likely would die. Better to just try his luck here, and throw his lot somewhat in with the Continentals. “If that’s the event you’re referring too, I’m surprised you were old enough then to influence anyone.” He finally stooped to poke his spill into the fire. “I was only twenty-four myself, and I doubt anyone would have been willing to listen to a word I said about it, even if I had been willing to try.” Lighting his pipe gave Templeton an opportunity to study his guest. Theo did not look too much older than himself, but looks could be deceiving. And if he had been an officer eight years earlier, he might have had the needed clout to try to sway people in one direction or the other, however unsuccessful his attempts had been. Still, it did add an interesting note to the conversation. Tucking the fact away in the back of his mind, Templeton flicked the butt of the spill into the fire, and slowly exhaled a mouthful of smoke. Theo had drifted away from the conversation, staring at the table as if the wood would produce some valuable insight that, so far, had eluded him. After a few minutes, he seemed to give up and returned his attention to his host. Templeton could not help laughing when Theo pointed out that the city was not welcoming to the British. “That’s their own fault, you know.” He pointed out. “Most of the Continental supporters fled to York with the Congress, or scattered around the countryside. When General Howe marched in, mostly all that was left were Tories and people who didn’t pick a side. Since they’ve taken over, they’ve succeeded in alienating all but their richest supporters. Hardly surprising though—somewhere between the soldiers terrorizing the local population without punishment, and the officers burning through the resources to host lavish parties and tedious stage shows, the average citizen is getting rather tired of His Majesty’s presence.” He shook his head. Though he was no supporter of the Crown, Templeton knew the situation did not need to deteriorate so quickly. If the officers had just taken more responsibility for the rank and file, or if they had put some more thought to how their entertainments would look to a tired, hungry populace, then they might still be more tolerated. Though Theo had hoped his tidbit would satisfy Templeton’s curiosity, he likely underestimated just how much the younger man had. The news that Theo grew up in the city made Templeton perk his ears. “Anyone here you should look out for then? Anyone who might remember you… for good or for ill? I know at least one of the Watch’s constables is a local man—you might do well to avoid him if you can, in case he should recognize you.”

The Kaiser murdered Theodosia's mother, the Fire Queen, when Theo was only six. He took Theo's country and kept her prisoner, crowning her Ash Princess--a pet to toy with and humiliate for ten long years. That era has ended. The Kaiser thought his prisoner weak and defenseless. He didn't realize that a sharp mind is the deadliest weapon.

Theo no longer wears a crown of ashes. She has taken back her rightful title, and a hostage--Prinz Soren. But her people remain enslaved under the Kaiser's rule, and now she is thousands of miles away from them and her throne.

To get them back, she will need an army. Only, securing an army means she must trust her aunt, the dreaded pirate Dragonsbane. And according to Dragonsbane, an army can only be produced if Theo takes a husband. Something an Astrean Queen has never done.

It is of fantasy genre, magic, adventure, revenge and romance (it has a love triangle). It is a dystopia. It features the four elements, water, air, earth and fire. There are also characters from the LGBTQ+ community.

It has good development of each character, they fit together very well. The plot is unpredictable and that's great because you don't know what you're going to find in the next chapter.

This is a beautiful saga, I loved it and suffered like a damned. Gripping from beginning to end and incidentally very cruel, too much so. It's beautiful, it's well worth reading. Even though I don't agree very much with the ending, it entertained me a lot and is one of my best reads of the year.

My various biographies for my original Fictif characters

I was inspired by a post where someone was asking for inspiration for their own OC for FTLOG. I make my OCs original depending on the book. While their appearence/background may change, they're always a cis man with a muscular, thicc build. Here's a bit about them, since I don't have the time to give them SUPER detailed backgrounds (especially since I may end up contradicting canon). Sadly I am not an artist, so these are only descriptions!

Heir to Love and Lies

Cyrus Yehia--a mestizo man of Colombian, Egyptian, and Spanish descent. I picture him with black hair, a nice tan that gets deeper during his time in Columbian, and hazel eyes. I imagine him as being very self-conscious due to not having been in Colombia for years and now having to be there without his abuela. He's a skilled acrobat, and frequently uses it to observe those he's suspicious of. Being of a religious background, he has an affinity with Padre Joya--but that doesn't make him turn a blind eye to suspicious activity. He has a rocky relationship with the three LIs, but admires Val's genuine commitment to her job, Chava's protective nature, and Sergio's cleverness.

Last Legacy

Capricorn Visser--actually his name is Riven, but he was talking about his zodiac sign when he was brought to the world. He's a caucasian man with blonde hair and green eyes, and usually dresses in green or pink (imagine if Barbie and your favorite male lead in a video game had a son). While he's drawn to Saaros, Florian, and Escell, he eventually (thanks to canon) becomes attatched to our LIs. Personality-wise, his self-esteem sucks despite his looks and intellect, and generally bonds with Anissa and Felix due to them being less wild than Sage--but he's still very drawn to him.

Roadkill

Sterling Alenko--In my world, he has a dream of being a screenwriter, and this helps him to bond with Poe. He's also an African-Aborignee-American man known for his cool, stylish fashion that noteably distinguishes him from the casual dress the rest of the LIs wear (though his clothes are still functional). At the end of the show, he wears a romper and tea shades with a bucket hat. He's quite exciteable and thirsts for inspiration, making him somewhat manipulative with people in order to get information. Though downplays his phenomenal skills as an artist due to being indecisive as a child and his parents pressuring him to stay focused on something. He kinda has an existential crisis when finding out supernatural creatures exist and keeps garlic and silver with him at all times (though being the cool guy he is, makes it look fashionable and doesn't arouse any suspicions). I think he tries to undercut Poe's snarkiness and prevent Howie from being objectified when he gets to Hollywood, and recently Tess has taught him how to write songs! Out of laziness, I use the same OC for Snow Falling in Love (unless I change it last minute).

Courting the Crown

Avarice Kahale--Ignoring our father's design, I made him an PI-inspired character, explaining the culture as the consequence of colonialism (probably Italian-inspired). He dresses in blues, blacks, and silvers, largely due to still being in his grieving process and still kinda mourning. This distracts him from seeing certain warning signs that occur throughout the story. He's hesitant of Theo's advances given his past, as well as initially being shocked at Maeve's feelings for him. Gwydion's magical world and Rian's mystery makes him drawn to them in particular. There is an instance where Rian seduces him and drugs him to bring him back to Cetros, but when he changes his mind, it makes Avarice jump to his defense whenever anyone speaks ill of him. Before his mourning period, he was very Shikamaru Nara: very smart, but very lazy.

Two Against the World

Florence Chisholm--originally I was gonna name him Florian, but I think Nicky would enjoy the nod to Italy (he's actually of partial Italian descent), which also inspires him to use his grandfather's surname, Angelico. He's an auburn-haired, grey-eyed young man who's the son of lawyers and his fast-talking nature draws Nicky to him. While not into crime like Nicky, he's very charismatic, cheeky, and optimistic like he is, and matches Nicky's passion.

Catch me in Miami

Arthur Yakushi-Silva--called Arturo by Miguel, his father is an Brazilian immigrant, while his mother is of Japanese heritage (she was born in Brazil, though), he's a quick swimmer and runner, making him a good partner for Miguel. While hesitant of Miguel's criminal activity, his charm and family does eventually convince Arthur to helo get Miguel out of the game, and this sometimes brings out a darker side to his typically bubbly personality.

Hollywoodland

Rudolph Midthunder--A Native American man who I headcanon as going on to being a successful actor (though he occasionally has to get rid of his iconic glasses). He's big on not ruffling feathers, but has developed a passive-aggressive personality as a result of keeping his head down. He originally attempted to pursue a relationship with Liam and Billy, but when he realized how important he was to Celia, he discovered how much he loved her.

Ghosted

Emrys Hye-kyo--a young man and Jesse's crush. Known for his business-chic fashion, no one would've guessed they would've ended up together. Being very reasonable, he's quick to be scared off by Jesse's ghost and solving the mystery, but as his feelings for Jesse grow, he realizes he needs to solve the mystery for both of their pieces of mind.

Monster Manor

Noah Rhineheart--an experienced ghosthunter/investigator who's actually never had relationships before. Known for his distinctive green hair and grey eyes, the residents of the manor at first assume he's a new arrival. He's a quiet listener to Casamir and Rainier's troubles, which makes him worry that they don't really like him for him, so he adapts to make their relationship more equal and conversational in order for their feelings to bloom.

Into the Mist

Galilei--a young elf who falls for Fin. Hmm, there seems to be something missing. Dorian should finish the story to find out more.

Isle of Enchantment

Aeris Tyrian--a young black man yearning for adventure. Due to having several brothers, he bonds with Rogue over trying to find his sister. He is originally intimidated by Serena, but eventually warms up with her following their adventure together. His interest in fair tales makes him jump between awe and eagerness to caution and skepticism, so it was certainly a growing experience.

“When I grow up, I want to be a fire fighter. That and a rock star. I’m going to have my own band.”

Theo resumed holding court in the play area as soon as he’d seen his father leave. He knew some of the kids from school, but a few of them attended the fancy school his father had attended years ago and were unfamiliar to him. Once the other kids had seen what magic he was capable of, Theo was immediately showered with attention, which was still a new experience for him.

“I want to be a violinist,” one of the sisters replied. “I take lessons now and I really like it.”

“You know Dad wants us all to be witches when we grow up,” the dark haired girl said. “You don’t go to witch school now, but you know he wants you to transfer someday.”

“The demon queen probably wants me to work for her someday,” Theo sympathized. “I’ll have to fit her in around the fire fighting. I really like fires.”

“I don’t think that fire fighters are supposed to like fires,” the red haired sister pointed out. “They want to put them out.”

“I’m going to head back to the castle. Keep an eye on the kids,” Abe called out, stepping into the car Maura had sent for him. “I need a proper nap and to sign some forms for the crown to release the money we need to book a caterer for the wedding. Make sure that Theo doesn’t burn the place down while I’m gone.”

“Well, if it isn’t my arranged husband. I’ve been looking for you.”

Roman turned around, curious to see who was comfortable enough to make a joke like that in the presence of Ulyssa.

“I’m sorry, I can’t remember your name,” he said diplomatically. “Did we go to school together?”

The man laughed and shoved Roman playfully.

“Your grandfather tried to marry you off to me a long time ago,” he explained. “My sister regrettably declined the offer, though I bet she would have reconsidered if she knew that you’d grow up to be this handsome.”

Roman blushed at the compliment, suddenly glad that Abe had gone back to the castle.

“Ah, the straight prince,” he replied, trying to project an image that was friendly, but unavailable. “It’s been awhile. We had math class together, right?”

“Well, I may have learned some things about myself in college that challenged the idea that I was straight,” he confessed. “And yeah, we had math together. It’s Ben. Ben Siew. Prince Ben Siew in fact, despite my sister abdicating the throne to Claudia. It’s a useless title with no money or land to back it up, but it’s higher than a duke, if you ever feel like trading up your current title.”

I think my grandfather is spinning in his mausoleum to hear a pick up line like that. All of these rich, titled people want me, and I only want Abe. The prince Grandpa wanted me to marry is all but throwing himself at me, and I’m turning him down. If he were still alive, I’d bet that he’d help Grandma kill another Abe just to get him out of the picture.

“I’m engaged, actually,” Roman replied, displaying the ring on his finger proudly. “I’m marrying Theo’s father and we’re having another kid, so I’m afraid that I’m going to have to decline your offer.”

Ben smiled, a response that Roman hadn’t been prepared for.

“Yeah, I heard. Well, if you ever break up, or you two ever want to hang out, I’m easy to get in contact with. But I imagine you’d hook up with Claudia over me anyway. You don’t look like you’re engaged when she’s around.”

“I’d disagree with that,” Roman said as politely as he could. “Her Majesty and I are just friends, nothing more. She’s invited to my wedding too, just like my other ex, Ulyssa. I appreciate the offer though.”

“What game are you playing, Bellamy?”

Ulyssa glanced over her shoulder, trying to look disinterested in the conversation Roman was having with an extremely interested foreign prince. She was still trying to distance herself from the annoying man still rambling on about some religious based program for kids he was running, but she had the distinct impression that her previous wish for Roman drama had been granted.

That’s that jerk Maura dated for awhile. He’s got to be sniffing around Roman as some kind of payback for me stealing his girlfriend. Which, I mean, isn’t even true. Maura chose me all on her own. But why else would he be interested in Roman? The man never shuts up about Abe, and the few times he does, he’s talking about Adrian. He’s got four kids and he’s nothing special in bed, why is everyone obsessed with him? Is it a demonic thing? It has to be a demonic thing.

“Excuse me,” she said quickly and bolted her way towards Roman.

When I asked for drama, I didn’t mean this.

“Our band is going to be amazing!” Theo gushed, as he sat down to play a very expensive looking piano.

His group of followers seemed just as excited as he was to hear him play. The only problem was that he didn’t know how to play anything.  Ulyssa dragged Roman by the wrist into another room before the stunned prince could even respond.

“Look, Bellamy,” she hissed. “I’m not going to stand here and watch you get taken in by an asshole with a fancy title. I know you’re smarter than that. For once could you just think without your dick?”

“I was just minding my own business!” Roman protested, crossing his arms defensively. “It’s not like I’m going home with him. We were just talking! You’re paranoid over nothing.”

“No, you’re losing your focus,” she replied. “You’re getting complacent, which is a dangerous thing to do. Your father was murdered. Your son nearly combusted with magical potential and has the leader of the demons watching him intently. You are getting married in a ceremony endorsed by the queen of this country when a small minority of people think you had something to do with Adrian’s mysterious death. You’re smarter than this. The Roman who saw his mother do terrible things to the people he loves is smarter than this.”

Roman was silent for what felt like an eternity to Ulyssa. She never knew if the old cocky Roman would emerge and bicker with her, or if she’d see the devastated mess he’d become in the wake of Adrian’s death and Abe’s betrayal. It was always difficult to guess what emotion would win out when Roman was in crisis. At least if he tried running away, she could easily use magic to follow him, but he wasn’t likely to run when Theo was here playing with the other children.

“You’re right,” he sighed, allowing Ulyssa to reconsider her next words. “I’m too focused on Abe and the kids to think about schemes against me. I should be thinking about the danger that seems to follow me around. I haven’t bothered reviewing my security footage for this week and I could always buy-”

“Let’s not get too crazy,” Ulyssa interrupted quickly. If she allowed Roman to spiral with worry, she’d be getting angry messages from Abe for weeks. “Just think twice about penniless princes who want to immediately run to bed with an engaged father, okay? I’m sure that there’s no demonic plot he’s following, so don’t even consider that possibility. Just think about Jolanda back home.”

“Jolanda?”

“If you can picture her pitching something similar to you, maybe don’t trust what the person’s saying. It’s not always some grand scheme cooked up by Dorhack or your mother. There are a lot of shitty people out there.”

Roman pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed again.

“I’m going to go hang out with Abe, if you don’t mind watching Theo and making sure that he’s not breaking an expensive piano. I just...I just need a break from this.”

Is it too soon for me to diagnose Nix Hydra with “Can’t make short characteritis?”

So I was looking at Miguel’s wiki bio coz I wanted to see if anyone had updated it since the final chapter dropped, so I could have a little look at what happened it the other ending. And while I was there, his bio said he was 5’11. Now I scrolled through EVERY one of the fictif posts on Insta to find the official bio, I found one but it says nothing about his height, nor can I find reference to it anywhere else. So it probably was mentioned in an Q&A or something. But that got me thinking about nix hydra and character heights. Now I am very aware that there are multiple different teams of writers and artists who all design their characters differently. But saying that, there are a few contradictions regarding height.

For example: in Last Legacy, Elowen (5’7), is described as being “imposingly tall’. Maeve (5’7) in Courting The Crown, who is the same height, is described by Rian as being “small”. Now I get that could be because Rian is tall? But that being said, 5’7 isn’t THAT tall nor is it short.

And there are times where character height doesn’t add up to the way they’re being described. Take Miguel for example, from what I remember he’s made out to be on the higher end of tall…..but he’s only 5’11? Which 5’11 in most places around the world is considered for men as average. The same goes for Jesse. He’s described as being TALL but he’s 5’10 which isn’t that tall either.

Now I get that I’m probably reading too much into this but, there is just something about the height system for these characters that bug me. A large majority of them fall into the above average height for their respective demographics. And yes, it’s not uncommon to have a lot of tall people, but when the majority of your characters fall at the same heights, especially your main characters, it gets to a point where it looks as though you can’t make short characters.

And some characters are taller than they actually feel like. Rian is apparently 6’1….he doesn’t give that vibe. I would’ve put him at around 5’9, same with Theo. Now characters like Saaros & Gwydion? Their tall heights kinda fit when you look at Elfin and Fae lore. And with Sage, Rime, Anisa, ect I guess their tall heights make sense cause they’re Ilephta and we don’t know much about Ilephta’s at all. Though Tulsi is on the shorter end. So idk?

But there is a part of me that looks at these characters, keeping in mind how toxic nix hydra has been with other stereotypes, and can’t help but think how much they’re stereotyping here too.

Nadia is depicted as dominant (which I have my own thoughts on) and her character is tall. You look at Saaros and Vidas, both nb but still very masculine in their appearance…their both tall. Same with the other nb characters. Felix has been stereotyped a certain way too, and he’s the shortest male. You look at all men and the majority of them are TALL. Like heaps tall. And even the women are more on the taller end of the scale. And that’s not even touching on the majority of the side characters. Because looking at just The Arcana, all of those characters seems heaps tall too, besides Mazelinka, Khamgalai & Volta.

I just wish we got more actual range you know? Not just with heights but in general. While there is diversity amongst the characters, I feel like they still write and design characters similarly. Especially as they are a company that’s always going on about diversity.

But anyways, just a few thoughts I had. Like I said, I’m probably reading too much into it or have grabbed the wrong end of the stick. In which case if I have, feel free to gently let me know. This is entirely just my own view on the matter.

Though looking at the way nix hydra goes with height especially when it doesn’t match descriptions….I wonder how tall Tinker Bell is? Coz Bille described them as being tiny, but they also think 5’7 is short and tall at the same time. I’m really interested to see what the writers view as tiny.

Edit: Mainly my point is, I think nix hydra has a problem with how they do heights. Now I do not know the inner workings of the company, so I don’t know how they do things. Each writer probably has their own views on heights and how they relate to one another. But I think that the writers and artists need to all get on the same page with it. And when I look at the character designs (including their personalities ect) and their heights I can’t help but see how they could be stereotyping their characters in a toxic kinda way….again. And if this was just this one thing on its own, it wouldn’t really mean much, but when you look at everything regarding nix hydra and their handling/designing of characters? It doesn’t look that great. It just really bugs me. I would really like to have a few more shorter characters (specifically main characters) that are just short without also having other toxic stereotypes attached.

history

vaelyx led an uneventful childhood, spending most of it as a thorn in his two older siblings’ sides. as the youngest of the set of three, vaelyx was often following in the footsteps of the other two, learning from their failings so that he remained a golden child to their parents. if vaella was caught sneaking a tart and scolded, vaelyx made sure he repeated it without the ability to get caught. 

when he was ten years old, vaelenora was born and suddenly he was no longer the endearing youngest child of their parents. he resented the younger sister for the first few years of her life, going to great lengths to avoid holding her or being alone with her. this did not shift till he was in his teenage years, sister now old enough to look at him like a hero from the novels. 

in the year before his eighteenth, vaelyx began travelling around the realm in the name of diplomatic visits for his newly crowned eldest sister, helping to spread her favor throughout the regions and forge stronger alliances for the crown. 

it was during these several years of travel that vaelyx met his first betrothal, a love match that he had arranged for himself, believing that it would make a stronger alliance for the kingdom as the woman was a heir to a minor house. however, when vaelyx sent for her to join him in king’s landing to introduce her to his sister and brother, her ship sank in a storm and vaelyx mourned greatly for her, and what could have been.

Hi, hello there! Thank you for stopping by and thank you for asking a question. I'm still in disbelief that I've been noticed by anyone, so this means a lot to me. Just again thank you and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, if you celebrate. Just again, thank you.

6. Who creates and enforces laws in your country? What is the punishment for breaking the law?

Theoretically, the monarch could create laws but at this point in history to avoid causing a revolution and losing everything, they do not. So, that leaves the creation of laws in the hands of the houses of Parliament and the Prime Minister. Once they've argued everything to death, it's then given to the sovereign who signs it and is given the official seal and then it becomes a law. While the ruling monarch, isn't "technically" creating the laws, they do have the ability to see all drafted laws before even members of parliament do. This is called the King's Consent and with this unspoken ability, the monarch and their heir can see all drafted laws and have the ability to make any "quiet" requests for changes they see fit when it suits their best interest. So while the monarch isn't suppose to meddle in the affairs of parliament, they can if they so choose to without upsetting anyone.

So all laws are enforced by the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary system, which has existed in some shape or form for the better part of a 1000 years. So it's more confusing then it necessarily should be but in the United Kingdom of Great Briton and Ériu everything is so steeped in tradition that there really isn't a want to make more concise changes. At one point, the monarch could make judgements on their own but that was done away with in the 16th century, so no more beheadings of the monarch's political enemies. So now all punishments and judgements are delivered by the court system. On a more ground level there's is law enforcement who's job is to catch those that break the law and bring cases against them to the various court systems.

Traditionally, the only title that's unique to Great Briton and Ériu is the title of Prince of Cymru, that is exclusively reserved and used by the heir apparent. Throughout it's entire history, it was exclusively given to the monarch's "male" heirs. In the cases where the heir was a female, it was more common to use Crown Princess. Hamish wanting to support and legitimize Theo's claim as the heir apparent made her the first investiture Princess of Cymru in the title's long history. The only other really special title is that of Princess Royal which came to exist because of King James I wanting to give his eldest daughter a special distinction above her other siblings. So now it's common practice that the reigning monarch gives the title to their eldest daughter and she keeps the title until her passing. The current holder of the title Princess Royal is Laoisa, Hamish's younger sister. She received the title after her great aunt Sibyl passed when she was around thirteen and several years into her father's reign.

11. How are members of your royal family expected to dress? Are they allowed to choose their own outfits for engagements and official events?

In a word, boring. Members of the royal family are expected to dress in a very modest and put together way. Nothing that could be considered distasteful or offensive. It's generally the Queen is the one who sets the fashion trends for the rest of the family. While Isobel was alive, she was considered incredibly fashionable and a little daring during her tenure and since her passing, the family look towards the Queen Mother Alibhe for the tone and style they should be dressing in. So everything is more sensible and demure once again. I do believe though as Theo steps more into her role as Princess of Cymru, I do believe there will be a changing of the guard and the other members of the family will look towards her for inspiration. While the palace will say there's no official document outlining the dos and don'ts of how to dress there are guidelines everyone follows. So while they're able to chose their own wardrobe, they are still expected to follow the guidelines that have long since been established.

Like when doing engagements through out the commonwealth it's best to wear designers that represent the region, thus giving brands a boost. When taking on engagements overseas, it's recommend to wear brands from the country they're visiting to show appreciation for the country and it's local artisans and as a sign of respect to the foreign dignitaries they're visiting.

Generally, illegitimate children are considered to be private citizens and generally wouldn't be eligible to receive titles. I think there's been a push in recent generations to try and remove the stigma that's often attach to illegitimate children because it can be a very othering situation. Theoretically, there's nothing stopping any illegitimate child from attempting to sue the royal family for recognition and the right to be granted a title. At this point, it's a theory because there's never been an instance of this happening.
