RAMEN BULLETS | Min Yoongi | Drabble | Requested by Anon.
Plot: Yoongi had been good at avoiding conversations regarding commitment because of his career. Until his career forces him to face his own reality. Pairing: Gang Leader!Yoongi x OC (Name: Kiku) Genre: Mafia Type: Drabble Rating: M Word Count: 1.7k Warnings: gun violence, blood, murder, gang war Author’s Note: new drabble, friends! hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Kiku prided in being a patient person especially when it came to slower moving relationships. Even she felt the anxious rush when boyfriends wanted too much within a small time period. She would never force the same pressures on someone else and Yoongi was someone special to her. Kiku had met Yoongi in a warehouse rave, enticed by his captivating rasped voice and dark eyes that seemed to hold all your secrets in them.
In the dimly lit place, Kiku couldn't help but be drawn to Yoongi's magnetic presence. He moved through the crowd effortlessly, his every step seemingly choreographed to the pulsating beat of the music yet he didn’t have to dance. It was strange how much Kiku was swayed by him.
Yoongi was reserved but attentive. Playful but always understood when to be serious. It was a tantalising combination. One problem was that he liked his relationships slow. Not just slow but nearly stagnant and steady. Which would’ve been fine but Kiku realised that they had been together for two years now with little to no conversation about what they wanted with one another. Kiku couldn't help but feel a sense of restlessness and uncertainty despite her struggle to be patient.
Yoongi reassured her with small gestures. He kissed her, doted on her and made her feel happy and secure. Just not sure. Kiku often feel into moments of worry everyday that at one point, a text will come that Yoongi wanted to leave her, that he would never come over again or worse she would see her with someone else. Silly worries, she knew. But they lingered and when they lingered, they grew stronger and perhaps a little hurtful.
Today, she felt a little better. Yoongi had invited her to a small ramen restaurant in the tiny streets of Seoul amongst the clusters of other hotpot and snack stalls.
The dingy neon lights of the city streets reflected the nervous beacon of Kiku's excitement and slightly anxiety, shimmering in her mind as she battled the dual emotions. She wore her favourite cotton dress, a deep green kimono with yellow flowers, her hair down.
Yoongi was already there, wearing a printed shirt, silver brackets and rings gleaming on his hand, his black hair long to the nape of his neck and a little wavy. He conversed with what looked to be the owner. The tone seemed serious until he turned to see Kiku at the entrance. A smile formed on his face.
Her heart soothed as she locked eyes with Yoongi, his smile sending a wave of comfort and warmth through her body. It was those small things that kept her going but a sensible part of her knew she had to start asking questions.
“I’ve ordered already, he doesn’t like menus.” Yoongi gestured, softly touching the small of her back and letting her sit at one of the tables rested against the wall.
Kiku felt a sense of familiarity as she sank into the plush seat, her body tingling from Yoongi's gentle touch. Memories of all their dates seemed to rush as if things had ended but Kiku liked what she had. But no. The talk had to happen.
The harsh greenish light from the restaurant painted them a murky colour, making it discomforting her strangely familiar. She mustered the courage to speak. "Yoongi, we need to talk," Kiku said, trying to match the confidence in her voice with the determination in her heart. But he watched her so closely, so intently. What if she sounded ungrateful?
What if her words shattered the delicate balance they had created? It was nice. He was good to her, loving.
“What is it?” Yoongi said.
Kiku took a deep breath, steadying herself. "I've been thinking a lot lately," she began, her voice wavering slightly. “We’ve been together for a while, right?”
“Yeah?” Yoongi replied, his brows furrowing in concern.
“And it’s been amazing but I was wondering…what the intentions are.” Kiku cleared her throat, shifting uncomfortably as she brushed her dress.
Yoongi's expression softened, concern mingling with a hint of uncertainty. “Intentions? Are you…not happy with this?”
Kiku shook her head frantically, reaching out and gently holding his hand. "No, no, that's not what I meant," she said, squeezing his hand and sneaking a finger under his bracelet.
“Ramen,” the owner said and placed the comforting steaming ramen bowls in front of them.
She took a deep breath, gathering herself before continuing. “I really care about you but we haven’t talked on what this is exactly.”
“I told you we were taking it slow,” Yoongi defended, gentle but there was a small finality to it that pricked her.
“It’s been two years. I know labels aren’t important but I’d like to know what the commitment is here.” Kiku kept a hold on his hand even though he saw distress spread across his face.
“Kiku, this is kind of a bad time to mention all this stuff.” Yoongi let out nervous laughter and Kiku noticed a crack beneath the firm and loving demeanour he had. He looked discomforted by her declarations.
She had patience. She knew she had patience but her resolve was breaking. The blurry future and security of this relationship made her uneasy and a little dizzy. “You’ve been really good to me and I’ve done my best to be good for you. But if this isn’t something you actually want—“
Yoongis eyes flickered to the side for a split second, widening in shock before he yanked onto her arm and pulled her close. Dragging the table to the side as gunshots thundered against it. Scalding pains touched her hand and Yoongis palm as the ramen splashed to the ground. Still better than a gun wound to the back of her head.
“Are you hurt?” Yoongi asked in a whisper.
Kiku shook her head. “What’s happening?”
“A fucking asshole,” Yoongi grunted. “Stay close to me.”
Kiku shifted closer to him, placing a hand on his back. Another round of gunshots deafened her, leaving a remnant of ringing in her ears.
Yoongi reached behind him and pulled out a gun, hiding between his back and the hem of his pants. A click sound. Then silence. In a swift flash of motion, Yoongi shot three rounds, reaching back again and pulling Kiku towards the cashier counter.
Another round of bullets burst her ears but she stifled a scream, adrenaline both making her tremble and incredibly calm at the same time. Kiku saw the owner prepare a shotgun.
“You said this place was neutral,” Yoongi rasped to the owner.
“Not anymore clearly,” the owner said with a frustrated sigh. “Get inside the kitchen.” He gestured. “There’s a gun under the second sink. Keep it.” He spoke directly to Kiku.
“She’s not part of this,” Yoongi said in a serious tone Kiku rarely heard.
“If you don’t want her to die, give her the damn gun.”
Yoongis jaw tightened before the owner got to his feet and started shooting. With a grunt, Yoongi grabbed onto Kiku’s arm and rushed through the curtains into the harshly lit kitchen.
Kiku took a deep breath to soothe herself, eyes gazing towards the steel tables and counters glinting against the greenish lights. She stopped at the second sink, freshly cleaned for the night. Opening the cupboard, she moved her hand around and felt the weapon taped to the top. She pulled it off, her heart racing even faster.
“What’re you doing?” Yoongi asked, reloading the gun with more bullets. “You don’t need to do that.”
“He said it’ll keep me safe,” Kiku said as Yoongi rushed closer.
Yoongi sighed, looking more and more uncomfortable at the sight of her holding a gun. “Look, this is really dangerous. If they see you shooting them, they’ll remember you.”
“Who’s they?” Kiku asked.
The curtains pushed open but it wasn’t the owner. A man with tattoos on his neck and a cut on his nose pointed a gun right towards the back of Yoongi’s head.
Panicked, Kiku raised the gun and pulled the trigger before Yoongi noticed. Blood splattered from the skin of the man’s neck, staining the wall behind him as he fell to the ground. Eyes widened, her hands began to tremble, chest rising and falling yet the panic transformed. A sweet sense of adrenaline passed through her. It wasn’t all pleasurable but it wasn’t all bad either.
“Hey,” Yoongi inched closer, gently cupping her cheek to meet his gaze and not the man with his jugular splattered over the kitchen corner. “Baby. . .you okay?” He muttered softly.
Kiku nodded, a small smile forming at the corners of her lips. “I’m good. Are you okay? Did you get shot?”
“No, thanks to you.” Yoongi smiled, thumb and index finger holding her chin before gently taking the gun from her and placing it on the table. Sweat formed beads at the edges of his hairline, skin glistened slightly and his forehead wrinkled.
The owner pushed through the curtain with a loud sigh and made a noise when he saw the man. “Jesus, not in my kitchen.” He kicked away the man’s leg. “This gang war of yours needs to end soon. I need customers.” He cursed, wiping the blood splatters from his cheek and walking away.
“Gang war,” Kiku said as her stomach began to calm. “You’re in a gang.”
Yoongi sighed, placing his own gun onto the table. “I wanted to keep you away from it but things have gotten worse lately.” He ran his fingers through his hair, black hair shining as he leaned at the edge of the table. “It’s why I didn’t want to. . .I couldn’t move forward with this because it meant you getting dragged into this mess every day.”
Kiku couldn’t help but smile as her heart swelled in relief. “Do you want to be with me or not?” She stood in front of him, playing with one of his shirt buttons.
Yoongi’s eyes flickered from her eyes down to her lips. “I want you.”
“Then I’ll just need to get better at using a gun,” Kiku said, tracing her hand from his chest to his shoulders, wrapping her arms around them.
Yoongi chuckled, holding onto her waist. “Looked like you were pretty good at it already.”
“So we can make this a bit more official?” Kiku tilted her head.
Yoongi nodded, nose brushing hers before he kissed her. “I’m all yours.”

Bahamas Double Meal
The soft breeze that hits the white cotton curtains, flowing in the room shining some daylight. Sol gets hit with the bright sun, squinting his eyes and yawning. Leaning up, his muscular biceps and soft toned pecs in his plaid boxers stretching. Next to him his boyfriend Izzy, laying with his cheetah print top and pant set, sleeping softly. Sol smiled laying on top of him, giving his neck some kisses making Izzy squirm underneath him waking up.
"Sol, Jesus you couldn't wake me up properly?" Izzy asked annoyed, rubbing his eyes to show his dark chocolate color. Sol smirked, giving Izzy a soft kiss getting up.
"And where would the fun in that be? Now get up, we got to enjoy the rest of our vacation!" Sol cheered, running to the bathroom with clothes in hand. Izzy rolled his eyes getting up himself and looking through his suitcase. The both of them were on an anniversary trip to the Bahamas for a week. The first day they enjoyed the spa and massages that was provided, the cuisines that were made to their delight, and some shopping in stores they have never thought of enjoying.
Today was the day of the beach, Sol coming out of the bathroom with his white tropical swim shorts, with a matching top that was left open too show off his toned body. Izzy staring too long, Sol pec bounced to have Izzy's eyes hungrily dart to them, making him roll his eyes blushing at being teased.
"Don't worry, there's enough of me to go around~" Sol purred, Izzy turning around and changing in front of him. Izzy's smaller frame putting on his tight rose shorts with a white-lace kimono, topping it off with a black and rose ascot, tying it around his neck. Sol hugged Izzy from behind, kissing his neck softly, getting a small giggle from him.
"Alright, let's go to the beach!" Sol cheered, grabbing Izzy's hand and their packed belongings for this day, running off out of the room to walk to the beach.
Seeing the huge crowd tanning on beach chairs, playing volleyball in different areas, children playing with sand, swimming in the oceans, and many of those with pets throwing toys for them to chase. Both of them looked for a spot to sit, seeing an empty area with a beach umbrella placed near the front of the ocean. Izzy walked too it (more like speed-walked) to claim the spot. Sol following behind dragging the cooler. Laying their towels on the chairs, Sol opened up a water bottle drinking it quickly.
"Sol, can you close the umbrella, I just want to tan for a few minutes." Izzy asked him, Sol nodded, getting up and closing the umbrella, getting a thank you in return. Sol took off his shirt and placed it on the chair.
"Hey, I'm going to go for a quick swim." Sol reminded, Izzy giving a thumbs up and placing himself to lay on his stomach, taking his kimono off too get the heat on his back. Sol runs off in the sand to the shallow waters, the small waves touching above his ankles, making him shiver with delight of the cold water. He was about to walk closer to swim till he heard Izzy turning around.
"Jesus watch the hell you are going you prick!" Izzy yelled holding his head wincing at a couple surfers who ran with their surfboards in hand, cockily laughing and jokingly saying sorry. Sol got out of the ocean and sprinted too him, passing by the surfers earlier.
"Izzy let me see, is it bad?" Sol asked trying to get him to move his hands out of the way. Izzy slowly moving his hands down to see a small scratch and redness on his head.
"Is it bad?" Izzy asked, Sol shook his head, getting a cold water bottle and having him hold it on his head. Izzy wincing from the coldness. Sol looked at the ocean and gritted his teeth, getting up.
"Keep on tanning, I will be right back." Sol stated, Izzy nodding his head and laying down with the water on his head, putting his sunglasses on to cover his eyes from the sun. Sol sprinted to the ocean diving in swimming further towards the deep end of the water. Hearing laughter, he saw the surfers from earlier together waiting for the next wave. They both were far from shore, and even far from anyone else, making this a lot easier than he thought. Sol gave them a death glare, swimming underwater towards them. He swam closer, pushing both of the surfers into each other falling off their surfboards. Grabbing the first surfer that fell, unhinging his jaw and swallowing their head. The first surfer thrashing as he was being swallowed, the second surfer keeping his head above water looking for his friend. Ducking his head underneath just to see his friend having half of his body in Sol's mouth. The surfer swimming trying to tug his friend out. Sol grabbed the other surfer dudes hands and kept it locked onto the first ones hips, taking a big gulp, swallowing both hips and the hands, keeping the second surfer in place. The surfer duo thrashed as Sol kept swallowing, finishing up the first surfer dude and getting up too the second one's head. His toned abs now expanding immensely in the cool water, a face imprint was seen above his bellybutton making the surfer friend scream underwater as his friends fate is sealed. Sol grabbing the head and forcing him into his mouth, his belly slowly squirming with his first meal. Sol swallowing up to the friends butt, he swam up to the top of the water, the friends thrashing legs being slurped down burping loudly. Sol swam too shore, his belly squirming violently each stroke.
"Man, you guys are heavy." Sol commented, patting his belly as he makes it to the shallow end. Getting out of the ocean, people were staring and whispering amongst each other, Sol smiling widely as he winks at the bystanders near him. He walks too Izzy, lifting his belly up and letting go, his belly hitting Izzy's legs, making him scream lightly. Before he could get yelled out he stares at his boyfriends belly.
"Sol what did you do?" Izzy asked curiously concerned. Sol smirked rubbing his belly, joking around by tapping his chin.
"I might have gotten a double meal of surfer dudes from earlier.~" He teased, wiggling his eyebrows. Izzy rolled his eyes, staring at the engorged belly, giving it a small rub, Sol purred from the touch.
"Next time, give me a heads up that you are going to hunt." Izzy stated, Sol nodded sitting down in the sand in front of Izzy, letting him rub his belly as it thrashes around. Both of them enjoying the rest of the day at the beach.

本日のお出かけ着物。綿麻の着物に先日と同じくアリスの小瓶を締める。画廊を経営するオジサマに、ポール・スミス的なモダンな帯と褒められる…お世辞お世辞。でも嬉しい。
It's my kimono coordination for today's meeting. I wear printed kimono made by half cotton and half ramie, and obi named *the vial of Alice* as same as the day before. One of my acquaintances who's running a gallery palavered me as this obi is modern like Paul Smith's. That's too much, but thank you!

📣𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐁
AKA: garb, garb-adjacent, I have no time to sew
Pennsic 50 is nearing, and you are frantic trying to get everything together in time, including a wardrobe.
Don’t drive yourself nuts. Cheat.
War garb tends to be very forgiving, considering that groups other than the SCA attend, the weather is notoriously fickle, and you need to stretch what you pack to potentially over two weeks. We *all* cheat. We all include clothing that is not period, but doesn’t scream mundane.
• stick to woven fabrics.
• for your own comfort and sanity, stick to natural fibers. Linen, linen-cotton, thin wool perform best. Cotton works pretty well. Silk, it first has to be real silk, and the type of weight and weave will make a difference how it performs. Ramie, viscose, and rayon will soak up sweat and humidity like a sponge and bring it along with you for the day. Synthetics will look wrong, trap sweat against your body, retain odors; they might be cheap but they really aren’t worth it. Leather looks cool, but it is heavy; save it for accessories and, y’know, armor. Performance fabrics: reserved for your jog around the lake at 6am.
• Stick to simple shapes. Shift dresses, caftans, draw-string waist pants, solid peasant blouses, full skirts all can be tucked in with your garb. Choose colors that compliment your garb for optimal flexibility.
• Look for garments without obvious closures (buttons, zippers), visible pockets, ruffles, modern trim. Lace is difficult, as are prints. Avoid highlighter/neon colors. Sequins and glitter should be avoided; although there were period versions of such bling, modern decoration is made of plastic and looks it. Glass shisha mirrors may be an option if you must sparkle.
• Ethnic clothing, such as tribal dance wear, is usually accepted. You can usually get away with modern ethnic garments, such as kimono and sarees at larger Wars like Pennsic, but wear a real natural fiber one (thrift one?). Real embroidery is good; printed decoration is not.
• Don’t wear Halloween costumes. It will look like a Halloween costume. Most are horrible quality.
• Basic leather belts, plain linen or cotton hankies, nice basic veils, a good straw hat, a period bag, a simple basket, plain shoes/boots/sandals all uplift your outfit.
Some examples of cheater garb below:

Shop: amzn.to/3CvVHp3 I’d order a size up for a roomier fit.

As a shift, or bath house babe!darker colors can be worn over a longer dress.
Shop amzn.to/3CcLQ7f
Tumblr media
Wear over or under a skirt. Comes in a few colors, mix & match. Side seam pockets are okay. Buy: amzn.to/3NcViO6

August 2023 | Dressing gown based on yukata
I wrote a while ago that I want to post more finished objects here, now that I'm trying to repair my relationship with dressmaking. It's thirty-five degrees Celsius over here and I'm having either covid or a really bad cold, so forgive me if my logic is twisted in places.
------------------~~~~~--------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a dressing gown heavily inspired/pretty much based on a yukata (a lighter kimono which you wear in the summer, especially to the summer festivals). I've wanted a kimono/yukata for so long, but practicality-wise I was also in need of a dressing gown less warm than my fluffy towel one, and when I saw this fabric I had the idea to make a dressing gown that's basically a yukata but with mods because a) it was a Western fabric, b) I wouldn't be wearing it the traditional way.
I hope it's fine and not culture appropriation...and to be able to defend that, I have watched documentaries on the making of yukata in Kyoto and also examined carefully two websites containing detailed info on how to make an actual yukata. Any changes I made should hopefully be a conscious decision, and this project can be a test run for when I can afford an actual kimono roll of fabric and an occasion to wear it!
That's my reasoning. Now let's move on to the fabric...
Guthrie & Ghani floral stencil print in #navy. 20%linen+80% viscose. I would NOT recommend this fabric for dressmaking unless it's for a rough outer garment. The fabric was very scratchy with linen bits, and I had to manually pull out the prickly bits as well as tumble wash it twice. I don't think it's intended for dressmaking...but I was so excited and realised it too late lol.
To help reduce the scratchiness, the shoulder lining was a cotton/silk blend. I think a thin but sturdy cotton would be a great choice but I didn't have that; I just had a lot of sheer cotton/silk blend leftover from other projects.
The contrasting colour facing (which is not traditional): from a scrap fabric basket of a shop, a cotton/viscose blend. It was a twill weave with that typical smooth powdery finish you get with viscose twill.
Notes/Mods:
130cm on CB instead of the traditional 160cm. A yukata is quite long (equals your height) because you wear it with a triple fold at the waist, called an ohashori. This fold allows the wearer to adjust the length of the yukata i.e. where the hem hits. Since I'm not doing the ohashori, I don't need the extra length.
My fabric would actually only allow an 110cm CB if I were to cut the front and back in one piece (as is traditional), because I had only 2.2m of it. It was not cut on grain, but also there had probably been a bad shrinkage. 110cm was way too short for me. To maintain the flow of the pattern on the back, I decided to add fabric pieces directly to the bottom of the front, because there were more things going on in the front so the pattern was disrupted anyways. This way, the front and back were still largely cut in one big rectangle, which is more recyclable.
There are not separate front strips (okumi) on my gown. Usually there would be, and there would actually be some shaping for the upper body achieved through this seam between the okumi and the front body. I omitted them because a) I wouldn't have enough fabric to match patterns if I had cut them separately, and b) I wanted to reduce weight as much as possible because this fabric was so heavy.
Perhaps most importantly I omitted kise. A kise is when you press open a seam, you don't press it entirely open, but leave about 0.2mm of fabric folding over the seam so that the seam is hidden. This technique is used throughout a yukata. I suppose that this helps protect the seam, since it's easier to reinforce a kise than a seam when it's worn. I omitted this again because of the fabric. Too heavy and bulky.
Since I used a Western fabric, this means I had to use different seaming methods than the traditional ones, because traditionally almost the entire yukata/kimono would be have selvage edges at seams. I could not just anchor down the seam allowance; I had to hide the raw edges neatly.
The shaping of the collar is traditional, but the construction was me. Usually you would use a long strip that's double the width of the finished collar, and fold it. I'm not sure if it's traditionally accepted to have the outer fabric and the lining of the collar cut separately. You would also need a collar reinforcement, which I omitted.
Tumblr media
Traditionally you don't cut away any excess fabric on the front (on each side you would have two rectangular pieces of fabrics, the front body and the okumi). You just encase the excess as seam allowance in the collar. This way the fabric remains very recyclable and you can also adjust the collar for another wearer. I think this is truly a great idea, but I had to do some trimmings again to reduce bulk and weight.
Contrast colour for facing. I am pretty sure this should not be happening, because a yukata is supposed to be simple and summer-y. My mind was so dominated by the Orientalist paintings of G. H. Breitner which was a shame but the kimonos themselves were so pretty. Since I'm wearing it just for my pleasure, I added a bit of flare.
Tumblr media
Normally, when I deal with raw edges, I whip-stitch with a tiny mark on the right side. This time I tried to do a blind stitch that leaves a tiny mark on the right side and no stitch marks on the wrong side. It is easier than I thought it would be (after lots of practice) and I might be converted.
Tumblr media
In two or three places I just could not do a two-fold hem, so I smoothed out the fabric and did a little bit of overcasting.
Tumblr media
I had tried the latest way of doing bar tacks and I didn't like it, so I stuck to my usual method.
Tumblr media
Just a wide belt for now~I don't think I'll ever make an obi for it, but if this pattern is ever done on silk, I might just make a lined kimono with an obi!

The Caltagirone majolica with a "calligraphic-naturalistic" decoration in deep fuchsia proposed on a suggestive and candid white base is the inspiration for Simona Russello Firetto and Noelia Ramirez for their visit to Castello Ducale Colonna: a beautiful choice of style.
Simona wore silk charmeuse blouse with kimono sleeves: a fresh, practical but also extremely chic garment that gives Simona a feminine, refined and classy look.
Noelia wore cotton poplin crop top with Bardot neckline and midi skirt in silk charmeuse. A combination made by Noelia that is extremely fashionable and which instills in her great femininity, appeal but also elegance thanks to the refined print.
