Today is special.

Today is the 10th year of consecutive, daily drawing posts that I've made to this tumblr.

I started back on January 17th 2014 with a drawing of Sora, so I drew Sora again today, ten years later.

I never did actually make it a habit of drawing Sora each time January 17th rolled around, only ever drawing Sora again to specifically commemorate the date back in 2022, haha.

When I started this routine ten years ago, I used to get so angry and frustrated when my art didn't look the way I wanted: I'd berate myself if my lines weren't clean, if a pose wasn't working out, or if my art didn't look perfect to me at the time. By forcing myself to draw and post something each day, regardless of how it looked when I finished, it made me come start to learn and accept that nothing has to look perfect - if you keep trying, keep trying new things, and drawing, then improving is an inevitability.

Fast-forwarding to today, and well, I don't care so much about clean lines, haha. My current preferred method of color is also a messy one. Even in this latest drawing of Sora, I'm now noticing that the lower part of the Kingdom Key's hand guard should be wider and the straps on Sora's gloves should be blue rather than black, but...

Well, that's fine, haha. I'll get those bits right the next time I try drawing him.

I don't know if anyone out there reading this needs to hear it, but if you want to draw, you can do it: Anyone can draw and get better at drawing. You just need to keep drawing.

i feel like dds keeps getting pushed back even though i do want to play it the problem is that the like. 1 hour of the devil summoner game i played did engage the enjoyer cortex of my brain quite a bit

the holds are backed up at the library on my book club's next read and i couldnt find it in any of my local used places so i ordered it used online and it's shipped out with no tracking and a latest estimated arrival date of two days before the meeting. place your bets!

I really hate it when you get these messages where people essentially run down, in like two sentences, 5-6 different ways in which they're disenfranchised and in dire need of financial aid, and when you go to their blog, they like... made that blog all of two hours ago.

They just reblogged some stuff, seemingly at random, to seem legitimate (5 different, popular fandoms that have nothing to do with you and 6 different forms of activism within an hour of each other, erratic and misleading tagging if any, their pinned is their only original post), and then copy/pasted their message from their pinned post that, below that text, features a very clear donation page, and number amounts in big, bold letters so that they're definitely the first thing you see if you go to their page.

Like this sounds incredibly specific, but it's literally like the third time this has happened to me, and... bots are probably not this sophisticated. No, I'm like 85% sure that's a person running some grift.

Which, such an insidious fucking scam, but even just the fact that upon simply glancing at the blog and scrolling down a little, the timestamps were the thing that eventually tipped me off is pretty scary.

But then they're back on teh farm when there's a writer swap like nothing happened.

Is this the thing with Steel, where they just didn't say (asterisk see whichever comic that explains why this happened). Or did the writer just genuinely forget? Or did i imagine the diner thing?
