I’m gonna make an updated version of the cosplay given that I wanted a few more accessories than I managed to make before this (I went to a comic con, the poncho was totally a con crunch 🤭).

Rat with a cowboy hat on my shoulder (also crocheted)

Probably a cleaner interior for my poncho lol

Maybe a black shirt, but I do like the contrast the white shirt gives. Thoughts on that?

OKAY TIME FOR DRAGONCON SUPER CRUNCHY WEEKEND!!

by which i mean, i will attempt to get 3 cosplays to a mostly done state with an interruption tonight for a performance that my friend helped write that we bought tickets for a month ago.

the goals!

fully finished meryl tristamp which means getting logos on her jacket ✔ and finally finishing up her shirt.

mostly finished simple barbie cosplay (hoping the earrings come in on time next week) aka make a little bandana ✔ to match my magenta capris and find some new wedge sandals ✔��� since the ones i own are falling apart.

wearable imogen critical role cosplay, though probably missing some details like her vest. mostly this means finishing up her dress which needs the front opening hemmed ✔️, sleeve cuffs ✔, the last bit of lace finished ✔️ , and closures sewn on ✔. i got stuck in lace hell this week and it gave me a massive crick in my neck sewing it all on. XP oh and also maybe making her shorts but i also have stand in shorts that work.

p.s. i’m also doing laundry ✔ and need to take something back to target 🙃 ✔, but i am almost done with the laundry at least

Con crunch has begun. I'm about halfway through the first leg on my smuggler's pants with adding Corellian bloodstripes. I also have to finish Mum's Jedi (which shouldn't take TOO long, I just have to redo her inner tunic sleeves and make her belt pouches). And then I also have all the regularly scheduled adulting that I need to do, too.

Oooh man... all on top of taking care of farm animals (collecting eggs, feeding/watering them, working the horse/donkey/mini pony) and a terror two year old.... it's a lot.

Also my husband is gonna be Human!Adam so we'll have some guitarspear/guardrock cosplay pics for y'all! 💜

I'm also tempted to bring one of the baby ducks to the con one day while dressed as Lucifer....should I???

No WBWWC until I'm back from PAX. I'm sorry. I waited until the deadline to cram myself into a con crunch and now I have five days to make an entire Charlotte Emily cosplay (and of course, because I am unable to stop making things, I'm making a 2-and-a-half-foot-tall Puppet plush to go with it.) I'm already almost done, but I need to dedicate all my remaining braincells to this.

(Also, the next few chapters are... difficult. I don't want to portray autism poorly, especially since Charlie's place on the spectrum is the same as mine in this AU, and it would be weird if I couldn't accurately represent my own experience, but like. It's the 80s. They don't know as much as we do now, and the whole thing is from William's POV and he isn't the greatest when it comes to understanding neurodivergency, even though he is neurodivergent here. I don't want it to seem like I'm making William ableist or ignorant, especially since he's meant to be autistic-coded in this fic, but I don't want him to use a modern vocabulary to discuss neurodivergency and autism because it could seem like an anachronism. So, we're editing the crap out of this when we should be making a plushie. Plus, Henry is single and there isn't a lot of info available to him, so he's just winging it when it comes to raising Charlie and that's going to be talked about a lot, but there's also a certain incident coming up that's like. I don't like it.)

Some Commander Shepard progress because I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! All that’s left at this point is weathering the chest piece, making the thigh straps, gluing some attachments, and redoing the toe cap of one of the boots that I accidentally obliterated haha. (The boot armour is not glued/complete in the leg pic!)

I have 18 days left to build Mordred from Fate...the only things i have left to build is the rest of the chestplate and the hip things.....we shall see if i can get this done

So I'm going to a Doctor Who Convention this weekend and I not only just found out that I was selected as a panelist for two panels (I signed up because my mom suggested it and I, like a fool, listened) (I am actually excited though, don't worry) but also that they are going to be showing The Star Beast when it comes out. I should've expected this but I was keeping my hopes low so I wouldn't be too disappointed if it didn't happen.

On a funnier note I am panicking because one of my cosplays is almost impossible to sit down in chairs while wearing it so I'm going to have to strategically pick out which costume I wear on which day because of this.

Today's quick experiment: Can I manage a decent approximation of Xie Lian's hair for a last-minute cosplay without buying a wig? Apparently the answer is yes.

Of course, this is assuming I can come up with something resembling hanfu in the next five days... 😅😅😅

Liz is borrowing my Hakuryuu wig to be Legato this weekend, which is some sort of continuation of using my John Egbert wig as the base for their Judal wig.... I think??? It's something, that's for sure XD

Saw some friends, caught up with someone who recognized me from when I used to cosplay Eridan.... very Homestuck friendly con in the year 2023 ;D like I got Homestuck fanmerch from multiple artists and tbh?
