Insert 4-year degree, any degree , and receive six figure job.

I've been told multiple times that any 4 year degree can be used to get a six figure job, by people envious of my English degree. When I hold them to it and insist on knowing where these jobs are, at best I get an obviously misunderstood Buck-ee's sign that doesn't even mention college.

So, anyone know where I can exchange an English degree for a six figure job?

Learning Blender

After I graduated with my Associate and didn't have a portfolio, or any possible way to qualify for internships, I went into a hellaaaa depresso espresso state.

This lead me to not finishing any of my 3D goals last year.

My school maya license ran out 6 months ago.

But here I am, thanks to a beautiful game called Spirit City: Lofi Sessions-

for the first time, finally getting to the halfpoint of the Blender Donut Tutorial.

i'm planning to still follow along to learn more about geo nodes but honestly I don't really care to finish this one. I'd rather make something different. If I get really into it, I'll share what I do with this first project, but I'm planning to get to work on an animation I'd like to redo.

My plan is to completely redo it, reusing whatever objs I can, but I wouldn't be surprised if I have to remake everything because of Maya being dumb.

I also want to make it 1080p and animated to be in sync with the song more. I was able to edit it last time to make it fit the snippet that I used, but I'd like it to be properly synced.

fuck you mean i gotta take a gajillion other classes that have NOTHING to do with my degree? and the fact that these classes are the ones that i have trouble with and tank my GPA, which may prevent me from getting into grad school?

if i could focus solely on my degree, i'd be fine right now! hell, i'd be better than fine, half my problems would be out the window!

i failed 2 classes this semester and NEITHER of those had anything to do with my degree, but they may be the cause of me potentially losing my financial aid and being forced to take a student loan.

i don’t wanna go to college. i don’t wanna spend my life always working towards that false promise of a good salary. money is not my goal. money is not going to determine my success. my success will be based off of my level of content. i don’t want to be a the mercy of a boss or industry. i want to amplify and share the experiences of others. i want to find and belong to a people. i want to record local theatre productions, music festivals, and parades. publish articles and protest. connect people. build communities make shit better even just a little bit.

i want the odd jobs. i’ll record weddings and make commercials for small businesses. i want to own myself and make my own choices. do something not for the purpose of making money or looking good to an employer, but for my own enjoyment.

and yeah i won’t make much money. that’s fine. i’ve been poor. i’ll be poor again. i’ll make it work. i always do. id much rather be proud and in control of the work i do and how i spend my time than miserable with a bit more money and less time.

Indeed employers need to stop messaging me like “Hey, we saw you have a college degree. We think you’ll be a great fit to work at Jimmy John’s” or I’m going to lose my mind.

im currently on spring break and my uni is seriously screwing those of us left on campus for the week. theyre closing the dining hall for the week (which i paid 2000 for) so i wont have the access to food i paid for. theyre doing construction on the roads in front of the residence halls, forcibly removing the cars belonging to the people still on campus that are left in the parking spaces. they are turning off the cold water campus wide, which means no air conditioning in ANY building (yes, they explicitly stated that would affect the dorms). and after all of that, they just yesterday announced that there would be uninformed/unscheduled power, steam/hot water, and communications outages would occur without notice or notification over the break (because of the construction, theyre replacing the plumbing and the wiring underground (presumably)). and on top of that- "staff may need to enter your room without notice to perform needed inspections/repairs."

my dorm room is my bedroom. there is no other form of privacy from other people aside from the door that connects to the rest of the hall. my hall has a shared bathroom- people dont have their own personal one.

im paying way more than i should to be treated like shit all for some piece of paper. thinking about switching to strictly online and not coming back because this is awful.

my green flag is that i upload every single homework, lab, and exam question on quizlet for every class i take for free. bc i support cheating academically.

need henry cavill as sherlock holmes to barge into my class, saying 'don't be ridiculous' to my teachers and get me out of this stupid college

Can I just say how STUPID "elite" and "prestigious" colleges are?? You have to break your back in every academic area, even ones that have NOTHING to do what interests you, and then pay thousands of dollars??? People who scoff on community or state colleges are the most privileged assholes, how disgusting it is to say some colleges arent "good enough", when youre lucky enough to go to a college no matter your background is such a privelaged sooo many people would die for their children to have. College is college. Everyone should be able to get an education, all these requirements are stupid and privileged, especially because SOME PEOPLE JUST ARENT GOOD AT EVERYTHING???? Take your stupid elitist views and shove it up your ass. Just because someone doesnt have a 4.999999999 gpa and a millionaire extracurriculars doesnt mean theyre less than. Maybe they just have responsibilities? Maybe they struggle in some areas, maybe their homelife is bad, maybe they work to help their family? It doesnt mean theyre stupid or not good for a stuffy college some white man made with a million tests and hoops of fire to ensure that only rich white elit assholes with around the clock tutors get in, because ultimately its not about learning right, its about the money, its always been about the money. God forbid someone wants to learn and improve their life even if they're not a genius.
