Unsolved Cold Cases: Shocking Historical Crimes
In today’s episode we look at 2 shocking historical crimes of their day – one which remains unsolved and the other which becomes resolved 41 years later. In 1843, Harriet Monckton, a pious and steady young lady of 23, is found dead in the church privy.  Her body is saturated with prussic acid – more than 30 times the amount needed to kill - but there is no vial found near her, thereby ruling out possible suicide. In 1919, attractive newly married 25 year old Mamie Stuart lives in a secluded cottage in Wales with her increasingly erratic husband.  Mamie tells their landlady her thoughts of leaving to go to see her family.  Mamie then simply vanishes.  Her violently tempered husband is found to be now residing with his first wife.  With no body, no charges can be brought against anyone.  But, 41 years later her body is found! These two unsolved cold cases are today’s episode of Wicked Wednesdays.
Hosted by Robin Coles.

Jennifer Odom: The Beginning Of The End.
ON A CHILLY afternoon in rural Florida, a young girl steps off of her school bus & begins the walk home. She would only get a few yards before vanishing…THE STORY IS eerily familiar BUT it’s NOT about Jennifer Odom. This story takes place a full year before the world would hear about Jenny. This IS the horrific story of 17-year-old Carolyn Murray of Springhill, Florida. A CREATURE OF HABIT SHE…

Joseph Hedley “Joe the Quilter”
This is my first of many blog posts to come regarding unsolved crime cases here in the United Kingdom and hopefully later worldwide unsolved crime cases. This one is about the local Northumberland quilter, known worldwide by his nickname of Joe the Quilter. Joseph Hedley was found brutally murdered in his own home some days after his wife passing away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Known for his double-quilting patterns, Joe was a pioneer of quilting and stitching, known for his patterns here in the United Kingdom and in the United States of America as well.
Tumblr media
Not long after his passing, his stuff from his home were sold at an auction house in Hexham, Northumberland, UK, and the traces of a potential murderer go amidst. Since then, the case is regarded as a cold case, at least until new evidence emerges.
Since 2021, during the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Beamish Museum, an open-air life working museum, opens up some new attractions including a full scale replica of the house of Joseph Hedley in the Pockerley Farm area.
I’ll update this blog post once new or potential case information comes alight. Until then readers, please subscribe and read more amazing posts!

Who is Jeffrey Paul Premo ( Suspect revealed in 1998 murder ) Wiki, Bio, Age, Crime, Arrest, Incident details, Investigations and More Facts

Jeffrey Paul Premo Biography                                        Jeffrey Paul Premo Wiki
Police arrested a suspect in the 1998 murder of a Washington state teenager this week, completing the more than two-decade-long investigation using DNA testing.
Jeffrey Paul Premo, 52, was arrested Monday and charged with the murder of Jennifer Brinkman, 19, according to Marysville Police Department and jail records. Premo was being held in the Snohomish County Jail on $250,000 bond for first-degree murder. Brinkman was found dead in her bedroom after her father and girlfriend returned from vacation on March 21, 1998. She had been struck in the neck with an ax recovered from the scene. Although investigators found DNA on the weapon, outdated technology prevented them from finding a match. The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab said the suspected killer's genetic material was eventually matched to DNA found on the axe. "Solving this case has been a top priority for the Marysville Police Department for more than 24 years," Police Commissioner Erik Scairpon said Tuesday. “We never gave it up or put it on the shelf. He has been under continued investigation in the belief that one day we may achieve some degree of closure for the family and justice for Jennifer." Brinkman, who was reportedly very sociable, met his killer during a telephone conversation. Early investigators found a letter the suspect had written to Brinkman before his death, which indicated that the couple had met. Premo denied knowing her during his first interview with the police. After his arrest, police said, Premo invoked his constitutional rights and police did not disclose the motive for the crime. "It's one of those things where it never leaves your thought process because it remains unresolved," Commander Robb Lamoureux said at a news conference on Tuesday. Lamoureux was Brinkman's first homicide detective and still conducts investigations with the Marysville PD. “Just yesterday when we made the arrest and I was sitting at home thinking about it, it really hit me that we have a conclusion on this and can finally put it on a shelf and conclude not only for us as investigators, the people involved. , but also for the family and the community,” he continued. While Brinkman's father died in 2013, police were able to inform his mother of the turn of the case. "She was extremely emotional," Lamoureux said. "I think it was an overwhelming feeling for her to finally have an answer." The Marysville Police Department did not respond to The Post's request for comment on Wednesday. Jennifer Brinkman's murder is one of many cold cases now supported by advanced DNA technology. Earlier this month, police in Fairfax County, Virginia announced that genetic testing had identified two Maryland brothers as the rapists who assaulted a 21-year-old woman in a mall parking lot in 1988 . George Thomas, Jr., 61, was arrested at a train station in Maryland on November 21. Her brother, Gregory Allen Thomas, died in 2009. "In this case, justice will be delayed, but justice will not be denied," Chief Kevin Davis said at the time. Read the full article

“I discovered a plausible myth, a trove of red herrings, and, finally, what appeared to be the truth.”
Who killed the Fudge King? For our sister publication The Atavist Magazine, Tom Donaghy investigated—and possibly solved—a decades-old cold case about the murder of Harry Anglemyer, the beloved owner of a fudge shop empire.

im about to have such a potent opportunity to disappear into the woods forever it itches
#i wonder how long it would take anyone to figure it out lol#youre welcome future coldcase vloggers#but for the record if i do mysteriously vanish no its not because of my job#must be said because thats the easiest explanation people come up with yeah it would be convenient right#if i could just get a new job and suddenly everything in my life will be fixed and all of the other blatant issues clearly coming from other#sources will cease to exist#also therapy and meds will do the same thing. i might as well walk up to a stranger and ask them to snap their fingers and cure me#just as long as the hand i turn to for help points in another direction technically im being ‘helped’ right#life is just a fight and you have to keep fighting for yourself and others and hope one day someone is going to fight for you#and when people dont fight for you when you need them to it becomes clear that you dont even need to fight. it would be easier to lose#you already upset them by not fighting for yourself and instead of fighting for you now theyre fighting againt you. do you really want to#fight harder. do you really want to fight people you love. no one wants that#ive been so emotionally destroyed these past years and idk if i will ever recover or find worth in myself again#and if i got a new job tomorrow at the most comfortable high paying company in the world with a one day work week and unlimited pto#i would still feel worthless because of the experiences ive had and the way everyobe has brushed over them as if i cant feel emotion#i have been carrying so much hurt#now im going home to say goodbye to the remains of a stranger who wouldve disowned me had we ever spoken on even ground#but sure i will enjoy my trip
