Cendre, to Detail, while lying facedown on his bunk, regretting everything: And then I called him buir.
Fox, to Thorn, while trying not to sound too emotional: And then he called me buir!

Okay it’s time to scream talk about my OC Cendre! He’s one out of a few blond clones the Kaminoans created using Rex’s DNA, hoping they’d be as efficient as the captain. Cendre gets his name from how lighter his hair is compared to other vode.
With his appearance, there is no hiding who his template is, and so he grows with the suffocating pressure of becoming as good, if not better, as the captain of the 501st, which definitely fucks him up.  After he’s done training on Kamino, Cendre is assigned to the Coruscant Guard and is dying to finally prove himself.
The thing is, it happens after the tragedy of Fives’ death, and the Guard is still recovering from the aftermath. Rex has barely talked to Fox ever since, not because he resents him, but simply because he can’t look at him and not think of Fives. He keeps his distance so he won’t break into tears in front of his brother, but of course Fox misinterprets it and firmly believes his vod’ika hates him for what he’s done.
Naturally, the commander is anything but prepared to deal with a shiny who’s basically a mini copy of Rex. Cendre, like every other rookie, looks at Fox with barely hidden admiration in his eyes, and it only reminds Fox of how Rex behaved around him on Kamino, before everything went wrong. It’s too much for him to handle, and the only solution he finds is to straight up avoid the kid and let the other commanders look after him.
Cendre catches quickly on how Fox treats him differently, not that it’s hard to notice when the other shinies get so attached to the commander that they start following him around like ducklings and calling him things like “ori’vod” and “buir”.
Being left out hurts, but his Trainers on Kamino always pushed him more than the other cadets, so Cendre assumes Fox is doing the same. That he’ll have to prove his worth first if he wants the commander of the Guard to acknowledge him. To show that he’s capable, he tries to get intel on a criminal organization that lies rampant in the lower levels of Coruscant. Alone.
As expected of an inexperienced shiny, he underestimates the danger and things turn sour. He is captured by the men he was spying on and they decide to torture him to send a message to the Guard not to mess with their business again.
Other shinies report that he’s missing and Fox manages to find where he’s been taken, but he’s already been hurt by the time the commander rescues him. When Fox unties him, Cendre is a bleeding, crying mess, unable to stand on his own. But worst of all, he is terrified that all his brothers will now hate him, beginning with Fox himself, because he didn’t live up to their expectations, and how can they keep caring about him when he’s nothing but a failure? When he’s nothing like CT-7567, although it’s supposed to be his whole purpose?
He blabbers about it out loud, begging Fox to please forgive him, and the more he talks, the more the commander realizes how much he screwed up by ignoring the shiny and not catching up earlier on how badly the Kaminoans messed him up, all because of his own issues. And he tells Cendre, apologizes for it too, and promises him that it’s okay, that he’s not Rex and that he doesn’t have to be. That he’s allowed to be his own person.
It's the first time anyone tells Cendre he can be himself, that it’s enough, and so he just breaks down even harder, sobbing loudly in Fox’s arms. The commander holds him tight and only lets go of him once the medics arrive.
Despite their best efforts and many bacta patches, that episode leaves Cendre with a few visible scars. Even though they are linked with bad memories, he doesn’t mind them that much, because they make him look unique. Different from the clone he was created after. He also decides to let his hair grow by a few inches and have fun testing different dyes on it with the help of his vode. All so that when he looks at a mirror, he doesn’t see captain Rex of the 501st, but himself.
Fox wholeheartedly accepts him as his little brother, and makes sure to stop him whenever Cendre is being an overachiever idiot, which happens way too often for his taste. In turn, Cendre doesn’t hide how much the older vod means to him and doesn’t hesitate to ask him for guidance. Older members of the guard might tease him a little about how he has started following Fox around too, but he doesn’t mind. Not when his commander has done so much for him.
A few shinies, those who participated in Cendre’s rescue and almost thought their vod lost when they found him covered in blood, coddle him through his recovery, whether he wants it or not, and stick around afterward. With time, they end up meaning so much to him that Cendre would rather give up his own life than let any harm come to them. They make the best of team during missions, but most of all, when they look at Cendre, they don’t expect him to be someone else.
The life in the Guard is a harsh one, the scars on his skin are there to prove it, but Cendre knows his family will always be here for him, and he’ll be there for them.
(I won’t expand on it here, because my main goal with this post was to focus on Cendre, but obviously Rex and Fox get to talk and reconcile at some point because I want them to be happy. Also, order 66? I don’t know her. Palps dies like he should and Cendre gets to kick his dead body as payback for hurting Fox.)

The story of how Cendre adopted his monkey-lizard Snatcher
One day, as the Coruscant Guard is dismantling some smuggler’s hideout, Cendre comes across a severely neglected Kowakian monkey-lizard, that’s being kept in a tiny cage and was obviously hurt by his previous owners. The way the creature has been treated inevitably reminds him of his own trauma when he got captured and tortured by criminals, and he can’t physically get himself to abandon him there, so he just sneaks it into the Guard’s barracks.
The commanders all learn about it quite quickly, because hiding an animal and not have it make noise is near impossible, but they all decide to turn a blind eye on it; after what Cendre has been through, they all have a soft spot for him, and it’s not like his pet is harming anyone.
At first, the other troopers are rather wary of the monkey-lizard, mostly because its species isn’t exactly the cutest one compared to, let’s say, tooka kittens. The one Cendre picked up looks particularly ugly because of how it was abused, but starts gaining pretty orange, green and blue colors as he nurses it back to health. (I’m going with the Clone Wars version of monkey-lizards here, where they’re clearly inspired by parrots, so I’m basing that one on a sun conure).
Once it’s fully healed, it starts bringing small items back to Cendre, ranging from food to jewelry. Everyone at the Coruscant Guard is pretty sure it stole some, if not all of it, but they don’t have proof and no one asks back for what it took. Not that they complain, because Cendre shares his pet’s findings with all his vode, and they get to enjoy things they never could have gotten their hands on otherwise, so the monkey-lizard rapidly becomes very popular among the Guard.
So, nothing worrying there, at least until the monkey-lizard brings back a lightsaber, which causes quite the commotion. The shinies all take a look at the artefact, and collectively decide the best course of action is to activate it and pretend to be Jedi.  Fox has to rush in and take the lightsaber away before anyone loses a limb.
A very-exhausted looking Marshall Commander and a sheepish Jedi show up at the Guard’s barracks not long after. “I think you might have something of his.” Cody announces while pointing at Obi-Wan. Fox is very stiff and nervous, because he knows a Jedi could easily have him and his men reconditioned for what happened. Cendre is doing even worse, because he feels responsible for the whole mess and never meant to endanger his vode.
Obi-Wan can sense their distress through the force, and he is quick to reassure them that it’s fine, none of them are getting in trouble. To which Cody off-handedly adds they never would have gotten into this situation in the first place if a certain General was more mindful of his lightsaber.
The Coruscant Guards are all taken aback and absolutely baffled that a clone can talk back to a Jedi and not be reprimanded, especially since many senators would have vode punished for way less. Fox gives back the lightsaber, relieved that Cendre won’t get in trouble, and closely monitors everything the monkey-lizard brings back from then on.
Meanwhile, Cody and Obi-Wan pick up on the Corries’ frightened behavior, and they start getting suspicious as to what is going on with the Guard, for them to all act so on edge.
After the lightsaber incident, Cendre’s monkey-lizard gets officially named Snatcher by the whole Guard.
Snatcher also gets jealous of the Guard’s massiffs, because of how Cendre will often give them treats. They have an on-going feud, with Detail’s massiff being the one Snatcher pesters the most. This has resulted in the monkey-lizard almost losing the tip of his tail to its sharp teeth more than once.

Some more rambling about my OC Cendre, this time involving his first meeting with Rex
( You can find Cendre’s backstory here )
Eventually, Cendre meets Rex. He’s heard so much about the captain that finally seeing him feels almost unreal. It fills him with anxiety, because all of a sudden, he’s reminded of how hard he tried to be like this man. He barely dares talk to him, not knowing how he would cope if the soldier he admired for so long deemed him a disappointment.
Unbeknownst to Cendre, Rex is in a “My General is meeting with his secret spouse again and I have to cover up for them” kind of predicament. So? when this trooper from the Coruscant Guard he’s never seen before politely greets him, he answers in the most awkward manner, because he’s the worst at being inconspicuous.
Needless to say, Cendre is completely taken aback, because Rex sounds nothing like the confident, flawless soldier he pictured him to be all this time. His insecurities are quickly forgotten as he realizes that he is the one making the great captain of the 501st uncomfortable, which sounds so absurd he can barely fathom it.
They don’t speak for long, because Cendre can tell Rex is nervous and he doesn’t mean to intrude or cross any boundaries.  Still, he can’t get out of his head how the captain acted… well, like an average trooper, and not like some unreachable war hero, contrary to what Cendre expected him to be. And with that, he slowly starts realizing that the objectives the Kaminoans set for him have always been unreachable, because even captain Rex himself isn’t as perfect as they persuaded Cendre he was.
The moment the rest of the Guard learn of his short meeting with Rex, they all get worried, because they know how far Cendre pushed himself in the past while trying to follow in his footsteps. Fox knows his batchmate to be kind to younger clones and that he wouldn’t say anything to intentionally harm him, but he still fears how Cendre might react to his presence. It’s a relief when he finally finds the kid and he doesn’t seem distressed, just slightly confused. However, he sure is taken aback when Cendre suddenly blurts out “Captain Rex isn’t as special as people say.”. It’s said with such blunt honesty that the commander is laughing before he can stop himself, because that sure isn’t how people usually talk about his little brother. Cendre and him end up both giggling about it.
Later down the line (and after he’s reconciled with his siblings), Fox uses it to tease his vod’ika during one of their regular reunions with Cody, Wolffe and Bly. It leaves Rex absolutely mortified.

Time to meet my OC Murmur, Cendre’s batchmate!
Once out of Kamino, Murmur integrates the 501st. He’s named that way for being a soft-spoken, very polite vod. (Obi-Wan meets him once during a joint mission with the 212th and is impressed by his manners, to the point where he asks Anakin “Are you really sure he’s one of yours?”) For a while, he also struggled getting heard by his siblings during training simulation for not shouting loud enough over the sound of blaster shots.
Cendre always acted as the ori’vod of their batch, convinced he had to be the strong one among his siblings because of how the Kaminoans pushed him to be a troop leader like Rex. Therefore, Murmur used to rely on him for help, and so he struggles a bit to find his place within his new battalion without his brother to guide him. Without Cendre, he falls back into his bad habit of often being too quiet.
He also can’t help but get sad whenever his captain’s around, because Rex inevitably reminds him of Cendre. Rex notices this behavior and ends up asking Murmur what’s wrong, fearing he’s done something that upset the shiny without realizing. To which Murmur apologizes, telling the captain that he’s just getting nostalgic because Rex looks so much like the batchmate he was separated from.
Rex becomes understandably confused, because, you know, vode all look the same, until Murmur clarifies: “You’re his template, sir. My ori’vod was created after you, and so he shares your hair color.”. As you might expect, the Kaminoans didn’t deem necessary to warn Rex they were using his DNA to make clones of him, so he goes through quite the internal crisis, which only gets worse when Anakin overhears their conversation and goes: “Holy Force Rex, does that mean you’re a father?” (This happens around the time Anakin learns about Padmé’s pregnancy, so yup, someone’s projecting. Also, Rex doesn’t remember his actual first meeting with Cendre, because he was too focused on covering up for Anakin at the time.)
The concept of biological fatherhood is something foreign to the vode, so Rex struggles to comprehend it, and Murmur feels a bit guilty for bringing up the topic since it seems to be making his captain uncomfortable. Still, Anakin is adamant that Rex should meet his “son” and well, there’s no stopping that man when he has his mind set on something, so off to the Coruscant Guard they go.
Once there, Fox refuses categorically to leave Cendre alone with them, because he’s spent too long helping him accept himself for them to wake up his old insecurities and ruin everything. Cendre quickly mimics the “tired retail worker having to deal with an annoying customer” attitude Fox adopts when dealing with Anakin, and the moment he sees this, Rex just chuckles, stops worrying about this whole “being a father thing” and tells his General to drop it, because “Sorry to disappoint you, sir, but that one definitely isn’t mine.” He does tease Fox about becoming such a buir, though.
Meanwhile, Murmur is just happy because he gets to visit his batchmate and see how cherished he is by the rest of the Guard. His new scars worry him a bit, but he can see how his ori’vod is acting happier than he ever has on Kamino. He’s especially reassured after meeting Detail, who also seizes the occasion to bribe Murmur so he’ll tell him all the embarrassing stories about Cendre’s cadet days.

Yaypril Day 29 - Pets, with my Coruscant Guard OCs, Cendre and Detail
Detail can’t find Raindrop, and it’s starting to worry him. Usually, his massiff never stays far from him and doesn’t wander off alone, unless she notices something really enticing to her. And when it happens, she barks so loudly to express her joy that the whole Coruscant Guard is made aware of her location. But not today.
Detail frowns; he’d better find her before it’s time for them to train. The last thing he wants is to have to explain to sergeant Hound that he kriffing lost his massiff. So, he decides to begin his search from where he last remembers seeing her.
Thankfully for him, he doesn’t have to venture far into the barracks to finally spot Raindrop, busy being petted by Cendre as she chews on something she just took from the other trooper’s hand. While Detail can’t deny that it’s a pretty adorable scene, it’s also not something he can turn a blind eye on.
“Are you giving her treats again?” He inquires.
Cendre jumps in surprise at hearing his voice, startled.
“I… Well… No?”
Detail rolls his eyes. His friend is so bad at lying, he couldn’t come up with something believable to save his life.
“I thought I told you to stop. She needs to be kept on a strict diet to be fit for duty.” He reminds him.
“But she looked so hungry!”
“What have I told you about her ability to make puppy eyes even after she’s been fed?”  Detail reminds him, crossing his arms.
“I know.” Cendre sighs. “Sorry, I won’t do it again.”
He sounds so defeated that Detail immediately regrets scolding his friend. It almost convinces him to backtrack, but someone has to be the voice of reason here, even if he hates doing it.
“Listen, I’m not saying that to make you feel bad. But if Raindrop gains too much weight and becomes less efficient during missions, I might be declared unfit to look after her. I just don’t want her to be taken away.”
It’s the first time he opens up about that fear of his, and Cendre’s expression immediately softens. The Coruscant Guards have very little, and they’re always under the threat of losing even that if they mess up. It’s something they’re both painfully aware of.
“Oh, I didn’t realize. I won’t give her anything again without your permission, is that okay?”
“Yeah, thank you.”
Cendre’s understanding lifts a weight off of Detail’s chest, one he didn’t even realize was there prior to it disappearing. The gentle tone his friend is using, though it is clearly awkward and unpracticed, leaves him a bit baffled, because he’s usually the one looking for ways to reassure Cendre, not the other way around.
However, he doesn’t have time to reflect on it, not when Raindrop starts nudging his legs, eager for attention. With an amused sigh, he crouches down and starts scratching the top of her head.
“The good news is, you can pet her as much as you want. Just don’t get surprised if she decides to pester you all the time after that.”
Cendre laughs at that, before he starts giving Raindrop scritches too. The massiff rewards him by licking him across the face, and Detail can’t help but chuckle at the face Cendre makes when it happens.
Yeah, the last thing he wants is to lose this.

Thinking about troopers from the 501st on leave walking across Cendre when he’s on patrol, and telling him “Oh wow, you look so much like our captain!”, meaning it as a compliment because the whole battalion loves Rex, and Detail going all “The next one who calls him that is gonna catch these hands!” because he hates seeing his vod getting all self-conscious over it.

Random information about Cendre:  After he lets it grow out, he just has the fluffiest hair of the Guard. The commanders all end up ruffling it affectionately at one point or another. Cendre pretends to barely like it because he wants to seem tough, but he isn’t fooling anyone, especially when he gets slightly teary-eyed whenever they call him vod’ika.

Some more rambling about my Coruscant Guards OCs Cendre and Detail, this time featuring Grizzer:
When Cendre got missing, Fox managed to find where his captors were holding him prisoner by having the massiffs of the Guard track his smell. After seeing the part they played in rescuing his vod, Detail asked to be trained at working with them, and so was put under the mentorship of Hound. He also made it his mission to show other shinies his age, who often were frightened by the creatures, that despite their loud barking and sharp teeth, deep down the massiffs were just big puppies. He often has to scold Cendre though, because his brother won’t stop sneaking treats to Grizzer, even when the massiff is on duty and shouldn’t be disturbed. Cendre always looks sorry when he gets caught, but keeps doing it anyway, because he just can’t resist the big eyes Grizzer makes when he’s begging for food.

I decided to start coming up with helmet designs for my clone trooper OCs, so here’s the first one!
Cendre’s Helmet (You can find his backstory Here)
Tumblr media
Now, for the explanation:
The red lines represent the two major face scars he got from being tortured, along with the stitches needed to close the wounds. While that event was pretty traumatic for Cendre, it was also the starting point for him to realize he could be his own person and didn’t have to constantly push himself to meet the unreachable goals the Kaminoans set up for him. The scars are also proof of his individuality, they make him look different from all other vode, including Rex, and so they hold a pretty big meaning to Cendre. They make it easier to see himself, and not his template, whenever he looks at his reflection in a mirror, which explains why he decided to paint them on his helmet.
I kept the rest of his helmet pretty simple otherwise, and close to the ones average background Corries have, to show how much Cendre wishes to fit within the Coruscant Guard, first because he feels like he has to prove himself, then because he considers it his family.
(P.S. Please note that I’m in no way an artist, I just made these using tracing paper and stills from the clone wars, so don’t hope for much from me drawing-wise. I just felt compelled to do these because I can’t get my ocs out of my mind, and felt like they deserved some cool helmets of their own!)

Introducing my new OC: Clone Trooper Detail
This is a continuation of this post. You’d want to read that one first for better comprehension.
Detail is a shiny who entered the Coruscant Guard around the same time as Cendre. He got his name because he tends to notice and point out little things that others might not pay attention to. He’s on the calmer side and not nearly as impulsive as Cendre, but he’ll often get distracted and lose focus because something caught his attention. More than once, he’s given Fox headaches by accidentally bumping into senators while on patrol duty because he got sidetracked by something he found interesting.
During his training as a cadet, the Kaminoans considered having Detail decommissioned because of his difficulties to concentrate. With efforts and the constant help of his batchmates, he managed to pass their tests and be spared, but the fate he barely escaped still haunts him. It made him untrusting of natborns and incredibly loyal towards the vode, feeling like he has to repay his brothers back for saving him.
Detail is the one who first warned commander Fox that Cendre was missing when he got kidnapped by a criminal organization. Without him, the rest of the Guard might not have been able to rescue him before it was too late. Despite being a young shiny, Detail helped take down the outlaws because they couldn’t afford to wait for more experienced troopers to join them.
As a result, he got to see firsthand how badly they hurt Cendre and grew protective of his brother from this moment on. When his vod was recovering from his injuries, Detail often sneaked in the medbay to keep him company, even when the medics tried to shoo him away. They soon became inseparable, especially after Cendre learned the part Detail played in saving him.

For the ask game: 💚, 🌌 and/or ⚙, for OC(s) of your choice. Vor entye.
Thank you so much for the ask! I’ve decided to do this with all three of my Corries OCs, so here you go!
Asks List
💚 GREEN HEART - what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?
Cendre – Hugs, definitely. He’ll rarely be the one to initiate it, because his trainers on Kamino used to berate him for showing any kind of physical affection, but this boy is touch-starved and the moment someone holds him, he just melts into it.
Detail — Petting/Playing with his massif when they’re off duty. Also, receiving gifts from his brothers, because the vode don’t have a lot of personal possessions, and so it always means a lot to him and warms his heart when they decide to give him something.
Model — His brothers praising his skills as a medic. He’s a people pleaser, always seeking the approval of his vode. He so he won’t seem too obnoxious, but he’ll always be beaming with joy when receiving one.
🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?
Cendre — My inspiration for him was the fandom theory of the Kaminoans making clones using Rex’s DNA. The first thing I decided about him was that he would enter the Coruscant Guard and meet Commander Fox not long after Fives’ death, for obvious angst purposes.
Detail — The inspiration behind him was mostly to give Cendre a best friend his age, I guess. To be honest, Detail kind of popped into existence when I was coming up with Cendre’s story. The first thing I decided about him was that he would be the one to notice Cendre was missing at the time of his kidnapping.
Model — What inspired me to create him was simply to have a Coruscant Guard Medic OC, who would be there to patch up his injured brothers. The first thing I decided about him is that he actually didn’t plan to become a medic at first, but ended up changing his mind.
⚙️ GEAR - what are your ocs thoughts on science & art? which do they give more importance to? how much value do they place on each?
Cendre — He’s more sensible to art, because of how it helps clones express their individuality and personality. It starts playing an even bigger part in his life after he learns tattooing. He does know a bit of science, most of it related to maintaining/repairing weapons, and he values it for how it can save his brother’s lives.
Detail — He enjoys everything creative, although he claims to not be much of an artist himself, but he actually put great care in painting his armor and is actually quite good at hair-cutting and hair-dying because of how he helped Cendre experiment with his appearance. Detail doesn’t have the best opinion of science, because he associates it with the Kaminoan scientists who almost had him decommissioned. It doesn’t stop him from having some technical skills he picked up during his training, but the concept of science at large isn’t one that appeals to him.
Model — Art is important for him, just like for every other vode, and the paintings on his armor prove it, but Model is a man of science first and foremost. He’s seen how medical knowledge can save brothers who would otherwise be lost and it’s what matters the most to him. He’s always eager to learn more and to seek advice from more experienced medics.

✋ for Cendre, the new love of my life please ❤❤
Thanks so much for asking about him! Cendre sure needs all the comfort he can get. And to put it in context, this takes place the day right after his kidnapping, after the medics of the Guard tended to him.
✋ - A hand carding gently through their hair
Cendre groans as he wakes up. His whole body feels numb and heavy. Images flash through his mind; of a dark warehouse; of men clad in black clothes; of their taunting; of the sharp blades they used to…
“Hey, you awake?”
The familiar voice of a vod anchors him to the here and now. He might be hurt and confused, but his brothers will always be a synonym of safety. He’s in medbay, he realizes, laying on one of the largest beds there. Bacta patches are plastered all over him, and there’s an IV attached to his arm.
The vod staying by his bedside is wearing a white armor, not yet harboring the colors of the Guard. So, another shiny, just like him. Something tells Cendre he should remember his name, that he’s somehow important, but his mind is too hazy for him to put his finger on it. He attempts to speak, but only a few gargled sounds get out.
“It’s okay, don’t try to talk. The medic said you’d be out of it for a while. Commander Fox wanted to watch over you, but an important meeting with the Chancellor came up and he didn’t really have a choice, you know, duty and all, so he asked me to stay and warn you. I’m Detail, by the way. I was there when… Well… When Commander Fox found you.”
That’s right. Cendre got kidnapped, and then commander Fox saved him, he remembers it all now, just like he recalls how he cried in his superior’s arms. How he feared his vode would abandon him for not being strong enough. But commander Fox consoled him, brought him back to the barracks, the medics of the Guard patched him up, and now Detail is rambling to reassure him and fill the silence, so he won’t feel alone.
Tears start gathering in his eyes, because his brothers have shown they still care, that they’ll always be there for him, despite all his crack and his failures. Detail mistakes his reaction for distress and carefully runs his fingers through his short hair in a slow, soothing motion. Cendre’s forehead must be sweaty with fever, but the other shiny keeps on comforting him regardless.
“Shh, it’s okay, everything’s going to be fine. If anyone tries to harm you again, I’ll blast them first, I promise.”
Detail sounds so fierce it’s obvious he means every word. Cendre isn’t used to physical affection, but the touch is calming, so he doesn’t shy away from it. Combined with the painkillers, it lulls him back into sleep, and Cendre doesn’t fight against the drowsiness. He has no reason to, when he trusts his vode to look after him.

Ohhh can I have 💧🌟🌹for Cendre please? I love your ocs so much already but Cendre really touched home 😂 Plus I love all the corrie guard content I read so please tell me EVERYTHING 😂❤
Aaaaah I'm so happy you love him! Also it's a good thing that you want to know everything, because this is gonna get long, I have many things to say about Cendre 😅
💧- What is this oc most passionate about?
When he’s fresh out of Kamino, it’s stuff like strategy or how to fight wielding two blasters, which he has learned all about, because that’s what his Trainers always expected him to be good at. After Fox makes him realize he’s more than just a copy of Rex, it quickly changes. Cendre will get passionate about all the things that allow him to express his own identity: armor painting, hair dyes, unusual weapons, you name it. One day, he sees another member of the Guard looking down, and, after chatting with him, discovers that he’s disappointed because he wanted to get a tattoo, like so many clones of the GAR have, but artists on Coruscant were way too expensive for him. After hearing the same kind of story from many of his brothers, Cendre decided to take it upon himself to learn how to make tattoos, because there’s nothing he understands more than wanting to express one’s identity. It took him a while and harassing a few older vode during their leave, but he eventually became the go-to tattoo artist of the Guard. Obviously, he became most passionate about his craft, especially since it’s something he could use to make his brothers happy too.
🌟- Is this oc good at expressing themself through words or do they have to use other means?
Let me tell you, this boy is the worst at communicating. He believes he has to prove himself through acts rather than words, but pushes it way too far. He has a lot of repressed feelings, because he didn’t allow himself to show the slightest weakness for the longest time. It becomes a bit easier for him to express himself through words after his kidnapping and everything that ensued, mostly because Fox and Detail made sure to keep an eye on him and to walk him through it. Still, acts of service stay his main way of showing he cares. He’ll be the first to offer to replace another vode for their shift if they look exhausted, to have a cup of caf ready for Fox when his ori’vod comes back from an unpleasant meeting with the Chancellor or to look out for trinkets he knows one of his brothers to be collecting. He’s good at using military terms and sign codes though, because, again, that was ingrained into him.
🌹- What's this oc's biggest fear?
Being rejected because he’s not good enough. Cendre is absolutely terrified of not living up to Rex’s name and becoming useless in the eyes of his brothers. Being expected by the Kaminoans to walk in the captain’s footsteps messed him up badly, and he’ll often push himself too far because of it. Again, he becomes better at dealing with this fear after realizing he can be his own person, and that he doesn’t have to be the best of the best all the time, but there are still times when he needs to be reassured by his vode that they won’t abandon him. Detail is usually the first to notice when he falls down that spiral and to pull him into a bear hug to show Cendre he’s not getting rid of him any time soon. Fox is never far, keeping an eye on him, ready to intervene if needed, but happy and relieved to see Cendre forming friendships with other shinies.
Thank you so much for the ask, I had the greatest time writing about him 💗

Thank you for asking about them!
Asks List
⏳ HOURGLASS - are they usually late or on-time?
Cendre – To him, it’s important to be on time, and so he’s always early by at least ten minutes. On the rare times when he’s late, even if it’s only by one minute, he’ll get anxious about how he’s messed up. This stems from how his trainers on Kamino used to accept nothing but perfection from him.
Detail – He tends to be late, not because he means to, but simply because he’ll get distracted by something and lose track of time. His brothers are all aware of this and always make sure to keep an eye on him when he has to go to an important meeting so he won’t get in trouble.
Model – He makes efforts to be on time, but healing an injured member of the Guard will always come before whatever obligations he might have. A few times, he’s showed up to meetings still covered in blood because he didn’t have time to wash his armor.
🌩️ LIGHTNING - are they scared of lightning?
Cendre – No, he doesn’t mind lightning at all. It was common weather on Kamino so it doesn’t bother him.
Detail – Lightning makes him uneasy, but mostly because it reminds him of Kamino, and of how he always lived with the fear of being decommissioned during his training. Being around his brothers of the Guard is usually enough for him to relax, even during a lightning storm.
Model – Oh, he sure is scared of it, because he has seen and tended to the lightning scars of his commanders. While he doesn’t know exactly where they’re coming from because they refuse to tell him, he knows for a fact being struck by lightning is a very real possibility for members of the Guard, and is well aware of what damage it can cause.
💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon
Cendre – When he was kidnapped and tortured, his captors messed up his right knee. Despite the medics’ best effort to heal him after he got rescued, it still aches from time to time, especially if he puts too much strain on it. He doesn’t mention it to his brothers outside of the medics because he doesn’t want to seem weak. Detail ultimately finds out about it, but he doesn’t bring the subject up unless it’s absolutely necessary because he knows it makes Cendre uncomfortable.
Detail – His oldest batchmate dies on the frontlines, and Detail learns the news right before he has to go on Senate patrol. He can’t avoid his duty, not without putting himself or his brothers of the Guard in danger too, so he forces himself to carry on despite feeling devastated inside. He silently cries under his helmet during his whole shift, and has to wait for it to end to finally breakdown in the arms of his brothers.
Model – He often has nightmares of his commanders dying in his arms because he wasn’t good enough to save them. Afterward, he won’t feel at peace until he’s checked on them.
