After doing a little bit of research (comparing the two different dvd boxes and playing with settings), it seems like the reason the better (extended) version of Muppet Christmas Carol isn't widely available compared to the lesser (theatrical cut) version is because it seems that the song cut is only available in full screen. There doesn't seem to be a wide-screen version of the extended cut available. So that's likely why the easiest to watch version is the theatrical cut, because Wide screen has become the default format.
And that's also likely why I didn't know there WAS a theatrical cut until after we lost and replaced the disk. The DVD we had was so old it only had full screen as an option, and the full screen version is the extended version of the movie.
Anyways, this is all just an educated guess. I didn't google the actual reason I just presume this based on what the boxes say, personal experience, and the fact that on the DVD that allows you to choose, full screen is the extended cut and wide screen is the theatrical cut.
#simon says#yeah so on my old ass dvd case it says that the runtime is 89 minutes and it is only a full screen movie#but on my parent's recent blu-ray it is a 86 minute movie and only available in widescreen#and the replacement disk we got after we mysteriously lost the old ass dvd allows you to choose#so wide screen is theatrical and full screen is extended#and most releases of it are the theatrical version because wide-screen is the default now#and I haven't seen a full screen version of the cut scene#so it's very likely that full screen releases got the song and they marketed it as a special treat#and once everything became wide screen they just stopped doing that#once again I did not fact check this I just looked at 3 dvds and used my personal knowledge of this movie#also I still dont know how we lost our first dvd#that was probably the first and only time we ever lost a disk and we tore up the house looking for it#couldn't find it so we just got a replacement and put it in the old case because we like the old case more#i remember being SO upset because that had never happened before and the one time it did was with fucking MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL??#it wasn't like. Bolt or some other movie we don't care much about it was fucking Muppet Christmas Carol#that dvd was probably almost as old as I was#that dvd was probably the first dvd release of the muppet christmas carol#at least we still have the case and the little paper slide in with the scene selection#I wish movies still did those#i miss the little papers with the scene selection or special little art or information about bonus features#like they still have the spot where you would put one but they dont make them anymore :(

How do I plot a romance story?
Most advice and plot structures I have found seem to be focused on quest-type stories. Do you have any advice or templates that are mpre easily applicable to romance stories? Do I need to include another major plotline?
Basic Romance Structure
Like most stories, there are different theories and methods about structure, and you can find these by Googling "romance story structure." However, let me walk you through a basic romance structure to show you the differences and similarities with the kind of structure you'd use for something like a quest story or an adventure story.
Introduction/Normal World - Like most stories, romance stories usually open with a peek at the protagonist's "normal world" as a means of introducing who they are and what their life is like. And, as with other stories, this also introduces us to the both characters' internal conflicts. In romance, rather than resolving the internal conflict with growth in relation to the story events, the internal conflict will be resolved via change/growth in relation to the romance. [Example: Sandi is a florist with a four-year-old daughter, navigating single parenthood after her husband filed for divorce and ran away to chase a dream.]
The "Meet Cute" - This is essentially the inciting incident... the moment the two characters meet for the first time, or the first time in a long time. All in one moment, we see how undeniably right they are for each other, but due to their individual internal internal conflicts, they're butting heads big time.
[Example: Sandi meets Brent, the new flower supplier who is adorable, sweet to Sandi's daughter, but infuriatingly inept at doing things the way she likes them.]
Forced Proximity - After the "meet cute," something will inevitably force them to spend time together. They get partnered together on the same job, stuck together in the same place, keep coincidentally bumping into each other... whatever. All that matters is that they're forced to get to know each other despite their head butting.
[Example: they get roped into working together on the town's rose festival.]
Resistance/Rejection - Now that they're forced to interact for whatever reason, they're going to spend a lot of time resisting their mutual interest/desire for one another due to whatever obstacles exist, like being from warring factions or one being in the middle of a divorce. But despite this resistance, we can see the sparks flying between them, even if they can't or don't want to admit it.
[Example: Sandi wants to focus on running her business and raising her daughter; Brent just got out of a long relationship and isn't ready for romance.]
Waning Resistance/Giving Love a Chance - Eventually there's a breakthrough... the obstacle gives way... they have a really fun time hanging out at the Christmas market and almost kiss... they move past the misunderstanding between them... or maybe they just slowly get over their issues and start to fall in love. Either way, they decide to give the relationship a go.
[Example: as they get to know each other and bond through working on the rose festival, they can't deny how compatible they are and an unexpected first kiss gives Brent the courage to ask Sandi out on a date, to which she agrees.]
Three Steps Forward, Two Steps Back - This is essentially the first date, then another one, then another one... though it doesn't have to be actual dates. It just needs to be some interactive scenes when they're in relationship mode. Each of these interactions will deepen their feelings for one another while at the same time raising new obstacles or re-raising the old ones.
[Example: the first date goes well except that Sandi is preoccupied with the fact that her daughter is staying with a new sitter. The second date goes okay, except Brent is in a bad mood after his ex came to town to pick up the last of her things. Then they pull an all-nighter to make some final preparations for the upcoming rose festival, which leads to a philosophical conversation about the future, wherein Sandi says she sees herself getting remarried one day and having another kid or two, and Brent says he can't ever see himself getting married or being a father.]
This Isn't Going to Work - This is the midpoint crisis... the "all is lost" moment where one or both put on brakes and say, "I can't do this," citing whatever obstacle/s that now stand in the way of their happiness. Sometimes this follows their biggest act of intimacy yet, whether that's simply their first kiss or going all the way. It could even be the first declaration of love, being introduced to family, or some other important early relationship milestone. But then it all falls apart... maybe because one or more of the obstacles become too much, a fear-based retreat, or some other external force
[Example: the rose festival has arrived... Sandi is there with her daughter and parents, Brent is there with his mom and sister. Everyone meets, Brent continues to be great with Sandi's daughter... it's obvious Brent and Sandi belong together. But then Sandi's wayward not-yet-officially-ex-husband shows up and wants to get back together. Although she's ambivalent, seeing him interact with their daughter and her parents makes her realize giving him another chance is what's best for their daughter. Meanwhile, Brent witnesses this from far away, thinks, "I'm not good enough for a family like that," and he and Sandi go their separate ways.]
On Second Thought... - This is the moment when something happens that makes one or both characters realize they belong together... that the obstacles aren't real or don't matter... [Example: Brent finds a drawing Sandi's daughter made of the three of them together that makes him realize he really is worthy of their love. And Sandi sees that her husband hasn't changed, that he's still focused on chasing dreams that aren't what's best for their daughter... or herself, for that matter. ]
The Moment of Declaration - This is where the one character finds the other, or they find each other, and one or both declare their love and commitment to the other, despite whatever obstacles there may be. This is the run through the airport to catch the other before they fly away to a new life. It's the objection at the wedding before the other can go forward with the less-than-ideal marriage. It's the boombox on the shoulders, the kiss in the rain, the "I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on" declaration in a foggy field at sunrise. [Example: Brent hears from a friend that Sandi's husband left again. He goes to the last night of the rose festival, finds Sandi, and tells her he wants all of it... her, the daughter, her quirky parents, the flower shop, marriage, more kids... he is ready to take on the world with her, and she couldn't be happier.]
The Happily Ever After or "HEA" - This is the story's denouement, where we flash forward a few days, weeks, or more and see the happy ending. This is the jump ahead a few months to see the happy couple living their lives together, the one year leap ahead to the wedding, or a leap ahead to a moment even further down the road when the couple is firmly established in their HEA.
[Example: two years later, Sandi and Brent have been married almost a year, and are at the rose festival with the now six-year-old and their newborn twins, Sandi's parents, and Brent's mom and sister, one big happy family.]
Now... like I said, there are a variety of different structure templates for romance as there are for other genre stories. Don't feel like you have to pick one, and if you do, don't feel like you have to stick to it exactly. Story structure is just a guideline to help make sure you hit the important points to help the story unfold.
Happy writing!

⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ SANTA DOESN'T KNOW YOU LIKE I DO — DAZAI OSAMU ₊˚⊹ ᰔ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𐙚₊ CW(s): f! reader, exes to lovers, angst to fluff/comfort, christmas/holiday setting, he still calls you pet names like baby, love, and sweetheart
𐙚₊˚⊹ SYNOPSIS: underneath the twinkling christmas lights, you and osamu embrace the promise of a love rekindled
𐙚₊ NOW PLAYING: santa doesn't know you like i do by sabrina carpenter && new years day by taylor swift ᝰ.ᐟ
Tumblr media
in the heart of yokohama, where the winter winds whispered secrets and the city adorned itself in festive lights, you find yourself wandering around in a deep sigh, clutching yourself with your coat adorning you.
the city exuded warmth, and the scent of roasted chestnuts, gingerbread, and an open fire from christmas markets and stores mingled with the laughter of children and adults enjoying the holidays.
as you strolled through the festive scene, you couldn't escape the echoes of your shared past with dazai.
you then stop in front of a familiar bar which was decorated with bright christmas lights and wreaths, and at that moment, you find yourself lost in a sea of memories, reminiscing about the shared moments with osamu, before the inevitable drift that led to your breakup.
among those recollections, two particular scenes painted themselves vividly in your mind, haunting yet bittersweet.
one memory that lingered like a gentle melody was the night you and osamu ventured into the same dimly lit bar, saying that you two deserve a treat.
the air hummed with the soulful tunes of saxophones and pianos as you two nestled into a corner booth. the ambient glow cast a warm aura, reflecting in dazai's brown sugar eyes as you and him clinked glasses of your high-ball whiskeys, toasting to the beauty of the night.
your laughter resonated with the rhythm of the music, creating a symphony of shared joy. osamu, with his enigmatic smile, leaned in to whisper secrets that only you could understand amidst the jazz-infused atmosphere.
it was a night where time seemed to suspend, and your connection deepened through the language of music, laughter, and stories which lead to a shared kiss that became your first.
another memory that tugged at the corners of your heart was the night you spent at osamu's apartment. the air was thick with familiarity as you found solace in the haven he had crafted, even if it was quite empty and rather mininalist, considering how he didn't have much.
either way, you and osamu talked about everything and nothing, the conversation weaving effortlessly between trivialities and profound truths—some even about his day at work, how annoying working on reports was. you even find yourself dancing with him around his kitchen in the middle of the night.
as that night unfolded, osamu's clothes became a comforting embrace, wrapping you in the scent of familiarity. wearing his oversized shirt, you found a sense of closeness, a tangible reminder of the intimacy you once shared.
the cityscape outside his window faded into the background as you and him reveled in the simplicity of being together in his futon, you in his warm embrace, head tucked beneath his chin as you lay on his chest, and he hummed a peacefully melody with his fingers running through your hair to lull you.
the quiet hum of his apartment became a sanctuary in those stolen hours, and even he thought it became a place he could call home when it was previously simply a scarcely filled space, and now it felt more than that. that is, until the fall arrived.
it was a night where the barriers between you and him melted away, leaving only the echoes of whispered confessions of "i love yous" and sweet nothings, along with the soft rustle of borrowed clothes.
now, you stand alone with the weight of these memories, you couldn't help but wonder if those moments were fragments of a love that had slipped through your fingers.
the bar and the borrowed clothes became artifacts of a time when you and osamu reveled in the magic of each other's company, a magic that time, circumstances, and perhaps your own choices had dimmed.
and still, you held onto those memories, recognizing them as delicate fragments of a past that was, in its own way, a testament to the beauty of what you two once had.
the air was crisp, and the city bustled with the festive energy of the holiday season, and you were about to turn away from the bar only to walk and bump into a familiar figure.
there, in the midst of the bustling crowd, stood dazai, and time seemed to freeze for an instant as your eyes met his ever same, warm brown sugar eyes, and the weight of unspoken words lingered in the air—a moment suspended in the delicate dance between past and present.
"osamu," you murmur softly, the name escaping your lips almost as a reflex. his gaze, once distant, softened with a recognition that mirrored your own.
a tentative smile played on his lips, a silent acknowledgment of the shared history that bounds you both, "hey, fancy meeting you here," he remarks, his voice carrying the hint of a memory you both couldn't escape.
as the crowd flowed around you and dazai, you find yourself standing in a pocket of stillness, a space where the weight of your past lingered.
"what are you doing out here? looking for presents, dear?" dazai strikes a conversation, but you can tell he seemed to be trying to hold himself back. you can tell he was very much ecstatic to see you again despite before.
"no, i was just going for a walk," you respond, rubbing your arm as you blink softly at him.
"just going for a walk this holiday, huh?" he narrows his eyes, a small chuckle escaping his breath, and his gaze soon draws towards the bar where you two would go for a drink, dine, and date.
like a canvas of unread stories, his eyes then hold, a mix of emotions, "funny how memories have a way of catching up with us," he replies, his gaze tracing the invisible threads that connected your past to this chance encounter.
"you know, sometimes, i do wonder if our memories are trying to tell us something," dazai muses, his words resonating with a quiet introspection as you two stood there, grappling with the unspoken question of what these chance encounters meant.
dazai's eyes, once filled with the mischievous sparkle that characterized him, now furrows in a subtle frown as he observed your quiet and somewhat awkward demeanor. the cheerful and festive background chatter of the city around you seemed to fade, leaving only the palpable tension between you and him.
"so," dazai began, a playful lilt in his voice as if attempting to break the uneasy silence, "you've become the epitome of quiet contemplation, i see. is this a new tactic to throw off my deductive skills?" his words were accompanied by a teasing smile, a familiar attempt to coax you into banter.
however, your response remained trapped in the awkwardness that seemed to have enveloped you. reminiscing memories had resurrected emotions that you struggled to articulate, and the weight of unspoken words hung in the air.
his playful demeanor faded slightly, replaced by a genuine concern mirrored in the subtle downturn of his lips. "heh, you're usually more... animated," he mutters, his gaze searching for clues in the quietness that now defined you.
"i guess i've changed, dazai," you mumble, attempting to offer an explanation for the unspoken shift in your dynamic. the words, however, felt inadequate, like leaves carried away by the wind before they could settle.
dazai's eyebrows knit together in a mild frustration, especially when you no longer address him as such, "change, my love, is a curious thing. but this quiet version of you doesn't quite suit the narrative i had in mind," he teases, yet the tease carried an undercurrent of genuine curiosity.
as he continued to speak, the air between you two seemed to thicken with unspoken tension. his attempts at light banter fell against the backdrop of my quiet contemplation, creating a dissonance that neither of you anticipated.
a sigh escapes him, a subtle acknowledgment of the unforeseen awkwardness, "i thought we could maybe reminisce and laugh about old times, but it seems like i've stumbled upon a different scene altogether," his frown deepening.
in that moment, the vulnerability beneath dazai's usual charm became apparent. the frown on his face reflected not just confusion but a genuine longing for the familiarity, the connection that once flowed effortlessly between the two of you.
"hey, since we're already in front of the bar we used to frequent, do you mind sharing a drink with me tonight?" he asked, his tone carrying a mix of nostalgia and vulnerability.
your eyes widen a bit in shock. you know you shouldn't, but it just feels so right to say,
"no, i don't mind at all."
Tumblr media
memories of laughter, music, and stolen glances resurfaced, painting a vivid scene against the backdrop of the night in the bar of cozy glow of christmas lights and laughter and merriment, yet the weight of those moments hanging in the air.
dazai's gaze became more introspective, his words chosen with care as the two of you sat together by the bar on the cushioned stools with your usual high-ball whiskeys.
"you know, i've been doing a lot of thinking lately, about us and everything that happened," he starts quietly after taking a sip from his drink, "there are words left unsaid, and i think it's time to address them."
as dazai spoke, a rare sincerity colored his voice, unraveling the layers of complexity that often shrouded his emotions, and the night now became a stage for a conversation that held the potential for healing.
"i suppose so," you say back quietly as you swirl your drink around, holding it by the rim and making the ice cube clink against the glass.
you turn to look at dazai, and you see him a take a deep breath as he places his hands in the pocket of his sandy brown coat.
"i want to say sorry," dazai continues, his eyes searching yours for a reaction, "sorry for the moments i let slip away, for the words i said and didn't say, and for the distance that grew between us, and i never meant for it to end like that.."
the rare vulnerability in his admission hung in the air, a bridge between the past and the present. the ambiance of the bar now stood witness to a moment of genuine confession.
"and i miss you," dazai confesses, his gaze never leaving yours, and you can hear the sincerity in his voice, "i miss the laughter, the shared silences, and the way you understood the chaos within me, and if i can be completely honest, i still love you."
the weight of those words settled in the air, carrying with them the echoes of a love that had weathered storms and yet lingered in the recesses of the past. the quietness between you two even seemed to amplify the significance of the moment, as if the universe itself conspired to create a space for the honesty that had long been overdue.
your heart, a mosaic of emotions, responded to his words, caught between the scars of the past and the possibility of a future rewritten.
you, too, couldn't deny the resonance between you and him, "i guess, christmas has a way of making even the coldest hearts nostalgic," you say in a quiet giggle, your gaze meeting his.
the chilly night seemed to warm however.
"i'm sorry too. i'm sorry for giving up on us," you sigh, taking sip of your drink for liquid courage as the unspoken words became spoken now, "i just, it felt like there was no other way, and that this is for the best for us, osamu."
"you called me osamu again," a smile now tugs on his lips, his eyes lighting up with hope.
"oh, shut up," a smile, too, breaks on your face but you sigh softly once more as you look at him once more, "but i mean every word, osamu."
"i know you do, sweetheart," dazai says with a nod before he raises his glass to you.
"yeah," you hum softly as your raise the glass in return to his, toasting to him.
Tumblr media
amidst the snowflakes and the soft glow of christmas lights outside, dazai and you find yourselves in the midst of an unexpected reunion, the chilly air echoed with warm memories, and beneath the twinkling stars.
this festive season really had a peculiar way of unraveling emotions, and as you crossed paths with dazai and it was evident that the connection between you two was more than a mere coincidence.
after a heartfelt conversation of unspoken words between you two with a few drinks at the bar, dazai offered to take you back to your place since it was quite late despite the holidays.
however, in a quiet corner just near your place, away from the laughter and merriment, dazai's eyes met yours as he walked right by your side.
"what is it?" you ask, looking up at him.
a subtle smirk plays on his lips as he pauses his tracks, and so do you, "you know, santa doesn't know you like i do."
it was a statement layered with memories of shared secrets and intimate moments.
as you exchanged glances, the familiarity of your history danced between you two, like a delicate snowfall. you genuinely smile nonetheless at his words, "maybe we've been on the naughty list for too long," you teased, a hint of nostalgia in your voice.
dazai took a step closer, his hand reaching for yours, "and santa may not understand us, but perhaps we can rewrite our story," he suggests, his gaze holding a sincerity that transcended the mask of indifference he often wore, "yeah?"
surrounded by the symphony of the season, you can't help but feel a little emotional as a genuine smile tugs on your lips as you nod and whisper, "yeah."
the clock struck midnight, time reaches its crescendo, and the world around you both seemed to pause in reverence to the magic of christmas, and just like that, coincidentally beneath the mistletoe that was hanging on the street light, his arms wrap around you and pulls you to him.
dazai's lips then meets yours in a kiss that spoke in volumes—a reunion of past and present, a bridge between shared memories and the promise of a love rediscovered.
as you two pull away, breathless, the quiet acknowledgment between you two lingered in the cold air of christmas eve. snow falls as he leans in again, and dazai holds you in his embrace like he always does.
"merry christmas, my sweet girl. i love you," dazai softly whispers in your ear before planting a kiss on your cheek this time around.

Mistletoe Magic
Tumblr media
Gif by @lovelynikol16
Christian Pulisic x reader
You find yourself caught under the mistletoe with Christian.
Wordcount: 1500+
Requested: No
Warnings: Swearing
You wander up to the door of the house marked by the address Christian sent you earlier. Adjusting your hair slightly and taking a deep breath, you knock on the door and wait for someone to answer.
"Hey you, I'm glad you could make it," Christian engulfs you in a hug, placing a light kiss to your cheek. He accepts the beer and small bag of snacks you brought as a thank you for the invitation.
"Thank you for inviting me," you smile at him as you remove your coat and hang it in the small closet in the entryway of his house.
"I would've invited you to stay if I had known you were going to be in Milan," he narrows his eyes at you.
"It was kind of a last minute change of plans, and I didn't want to impose," you offer him a smile.
"You're never imposing, you know you're always welcome to stay anytime, y/n," he says as he leads you into the kitchen, you noticing the traditional Christmas decor scattered around.
Your job as a travel blogger means that you hop around quite a bit. You'd stayed with Christian several times in London since it was a good starting out point for many of your adventures, but you haven't visited him in Italy until now.
"So what brings you to Italy for the holidays?" he asks, pouring you a glass of wine while he opens a beer.
"I'm writing something on Christmas markets," you shrug at him, "I wasn't supposed to come here actually, but needed to make some alterations due to a few things, so here I am."
"Well, you know I'm always glad to see you," he smiles, a genuine smile.
Your friendship with Christian started several years ago, right after his move to Chelsea. You both happened to be at the same event one evening in London and found a small bit of comfort in having someone from "home" close by.
You often spent time with him when he was home during the summers, blocking off a week or so from your travels to be able to visit him. You had become friends with several of his friends and things were just easy between you.
You both took a bit of heat for the natural flirtation that seemed to flow back and forth, but never had it gone beyond that. You were friends with him, not someone he grew up with, but someone who had earned his trust over a period of time and vice versa.
"I think you invited me here early because you wanted someone to do the dirty work for you," you chuckle as you arrange various platters of food for the twenty or so guests he had invited over for a small holiday gathering.
"We might have time for some actual dirty work," he quips at you as he glances at the time on his watch.
"Aww, the Italian model scene not to your taste?" you grin as you chunk an grape at him which he somehow manages to catch in his mouth.
"Honestly, I haven't had much time for all that," he shrugs, "been trying to get settled in here and really trying to stay focused right now."
"Well, you seem to be settling in just fine," you smile softly at him as you finish the last tray.
He turns on some Christmas music and grabs your hand and twirls you around a couple of times, both of you laughing as you dance and sing along.
As the other guests start to arrive, Christian introduces you to some of his new teammates as well as their significant others. You also greet his former Chelsea teammates you had met previously as well as his international teammates, a couple of them having made the trip from Turin for the party.
"It's good to see you," Weston grins as he gives you a warm hug.
"Yeah, you too, Wes," you roll your eyes at the mischevious look on his face.
"He made a move yet?" he nods towards Christian who keeps glancing over to you, curious as to what his friend could possibly be saying that has you looking slightly flustered.
"What? No! He would never, you know we aren't like that, at all," you shake your head.
"You sure? I mean, I've never seen two people flirt as relentlessly as you guys do and never take it any further," he narrows his eyes at you.
"Well, that's just how we are, harmless flirtation, that's it," you offer him a beer.
"You spending the holidays here with him though?" he continues pressing you.
"I'm in Milan, writing for my blog, he didn't even know I was here until he saw my story yesterday. I have my own hotel, so no, I'm not 'spending the holidays with him'," you use air quotes to mimic his previous statement.
"That's a shame, I'm sure he'd love unwrapping you as a gift on Christmas morning," he chuckles as you swat at him.
You continue chatting with people as the night carries on, engaging in a few drinking games and you and Christian carrying on your usual flirtatious banter.
You head to the bathroom and when you return, everyone has moved from the kitchen and dining area over to the living room to continue playing party games.
Christian is leaning in the doorway between his living room and kitchen, looking at his phone when you approach him and wrap your arms around his waist and tuck yourself under his arm as he naturally moves to drape it over your shoulder.
"This has been a good party, Chris," you smile up at him, "I've had fun getting to know everyone and catching up with some of the others."
"It has been fun, hasn't it?" he smiles back at you, "I hope Wes hasn't given you too much grief."
"Oh, I can handle him, you don't have to worry about that," you shake your head.
"Oh, I know, if anyone can take him down a notch or two, it's you," he chuckles.
"Hey, you two," you hear Wes shout over everyone, "look up," he grins.
The two of you look up simultaneously, before your eyes widen and meet with Christian's.
"Fuck, I forgot I put that there," he stares at you, suddenly unsure of what he should do.
"Well, I'm pretty sure it's bad luck if you are caught under the mistletoe and don't kiss, so..." you trail off.
"Yeah, I think so too, and I mean, we don't want bad luck following us around do we?" his eyes flick from your eyes down to your lips and back to your eyes.
"But we don't have to, if you don't want to, y/n, I don't want to force you into anything," he looks at you sincerely.
"It's just a kiss under the mistletoe, Christian," you smile softly at him as you move your hands around the back of his neck and inch closer to him.
"It's probably full of nargles, anyways," you grin as he closes the distance and you hear him chuckle under his breath.
"You sure?" he asks one more time, his lips mere millimeters from yours.
You nod and close your eyes, pressing your fingers into the back of his neck and encouraging him to close the gap.
His lips brush against yours softly and timidly, before he slides his hand up to cup your jaw and pull you into him a bit further. You kiss him back, slightly surprised at the immediate butterflies that erupt in your stomach.
The kiss lasts a few more moments before you both pull away and smile shyly at one another.
"About damn time," Wes whistles at you.
It suddenly hits you what just happened, Christian kissed you, albeit somewhat forced by holiday superstition, but he still kissed you, and you kissed him. And you didn't expect to like it as much as you did.
You quickly rush down the hallway and into the first room you find, shutting the door behind you, needing a few minutes to get a grip on everything.
You lean with your back against the door as you take a few deep breaths, closing your eyes and calming yourself before you get too overwhelmed.
You hear a soft knock at the door, "y/n, are you in there," you hear Christian ask quietly.
You turn and open the door, letting him in before quickly closing it behind him.
"Are you ok?" he looks at you, his eyes full of concern, as he moves to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Yes, no, I don't know," you sigh, leaning into his touch as he cups his hand along your jaw.
"It wasn't supposed to feel like that when you kissed me," you breathe out, "I wasn't supposed to feel anything, it was supposed to be a kiss between friends under the mistletoe, no big deal."
"It wasn't supposed to feel like what?" he asks quietly. "Wasn't supposed to feel like butterflies and fireworks and like your insides were suddenly on fire?"
You look up at him, curious to know if he was telling you he'd had the same unexpected reaction.
"Because, that's what I felt a few minutes ago, and I'm kind of hoping you felt it too," he says leaning his forehead against yours.
"Yes, I felt it too," you close your eyes.
"Want to see if that was just a one time thing?" he whispers against your lips, smiling when you pull him closer to you and connect your lips back to his.
This kiss is different from the first, it's not shy nor timid, it is full of certainty and desire. He kisses you like you are the oxygen he needs to breathe. He runs his tongue along the seam of your lips, silently asking for entrance, and moans softly into your mouth when you allow his tongue to press against yours.
You can't deny he's a good kisser as you sink further into one another, tangling your fingers into the hairs at the nape of his neck, and damn it, he knows what he's doing with his tongue. You have to stop your thoughts from running away with themselves as the two of you allow your hands to roam over one another's bodies, gripping each other as closely as you can.
You pull away from one another breathless and dizzy, a grin spreading on both of your faces.
"Definitely not a one time thing," he chuckles pecking you on the lips again.
"No, I don't think so either," you shake your head.
"So what now?" you ask him, realizing this has just changed everything between you.
"Now, I think we have to go back to the party," he sighs, "but I want you to stay later so we can talk."
"Ok," you nod.
"Would you consider staying the night?" he grins cheekily at you.
"I might, but don't get too far ahead of yourself," you grin back at him.
"No, no, that's not what I meant. I mean I would like for you to stay, and talk, and keep kissing me like that, but we don't have to do anything else until we figure things out," he says quietly, placing another delicate kiss to your lips.
"I think I can handle that," you lean your head against his chest, listening to the way his heart is pounding.
"Ok, so let's figure out a polite way to kick everyone out," he chuckles kissing you one more time before opening the door and ushering you back towards the other guests.

aot characters and their favourite christmas activities
ft. levi, erwin, armin, eren, mikasa
cw: modern au, fluff
levi- christmas markets
he loves them and they’re probably one of the best ways to get into the festive mood. When it comes to the holidays, his favourite thing to do is drive around the towns and stop by at different christmas markets. It’s kinda like a little date as well, and you’ll spend hours walking along the stalls with him picking up every piece of decoration that catches your eye, tasting wine and getting customised gingerbread houses.
The highlight of the trip is always that one homemade tea leaf stand you visit every year. That’s where levi will be tasting every sample they offer, getting absorbed into the history behind the tea and all sorts of fancy stuff. By the end of the day the entire back row of his car is loaded with souvenirs from the christmas markets, along with a couple boxes of unique tea leaves. His favourite is the orange cinnamon blend- every night the citrusy, sweet scent wafts around the living room as he enjoys it while watching tv with you.
erwin- knitting matching ugly sweaters
ok look i have this headcanon that erwin loves to knit and crochet. It’s one of his love languages, making those cute little yarn octopi and whales that you can turn into keychains and all. But when it’s christmas time he goes full focus mode, spending days knitting ugly christmas sweaters for both of you to wear. Every year erwin does a different colour theme. Last year was red and neon green, this year you both agreed on dark green and white.
He likes knitting while you lie with him on the couch, your head resting on his abdomen as you cuddle his legs while he’s creating his sweaters. It’s also easy for him to gauge your size since you’re right there and he can just slap the material on your back. Hange always teases him for being all cute and sappy, putting in effort to make matching goofy outfits but he doesn’t mind. All that matters is that you’re warm and cozy.
armin- cookie baking
What better way to spend the christmas season together than to have a cookie date? Armin invites you over every year so you can bake with him. He’s got everything covered, basic ingredients, bowls, sprinkles, icing and toppings. It’s really therapeutic and peaceful, hanging out with him as you bake all sorts of flavoured cookies. He’s great in the kitchen and knows every recipe like the back of his hand- he can just eyeball the ingredients and they always turn out perfect.
His favourite part is decorating the cookies. Armin loves spending quality time with you alone like this, chatting about anything while you help each other spread icing and dump loads of sprinkles. The real fun starts when one of you splats icing on the other, and by the time the cookies are done being decorated the both of you are covered in basically everything too lol
eren- gingerbread house competitions
Eren buys those HUGE sets like the family sized ones- but one for each of you. According to him, the bigger the better. (ykyk) Oh yeah he likes doing those timelapses as well for fun to send to armin and mikasa once you’re done. Even though he says it’s just a friendly game, it turns into a whole chaotic scene when you’re in the middle of piping icing on the roof and his entire house collapses and cracks lmaoo he’d be so pissed
Then he starts blaming it on the gingerbread quality and pleads with you to let him do yours together instead. He’d be super sweet though, standing behind you with his arms round your waist while you’re putting the jellies around it. He’d be diligently handing you more fruit drops cuz you don’t trust him with your house after what happened. In the end he eats like everything and leaves you the door and one panel of the roof.
mikasa- building snowmen
she’s such a sweetheart. Loves building snowmen representing you and her in the yard, and wraps her scarf on one of them.
“that one’s you.” she points to the one with the scarf.
“shouldn’t that be you?”
“no, my snowman gave your snowman the scarf so yours can keep warm.” she wraps an arm around you and you reach up to kiss her cheek, already blushing from the cold. After that you continue making all sorts of snowmen for the others, stacking them together in a row along the fence so you can admire them every time you go out.
Before you head back into the house she stops in front of the two snowmen closer to each other, crouches down and draws a little heart on the ground. She smiles in satisfaction, because now they’re complete.

This was supposed to be a Christmas Eve post, but here we are.....!
In my mind, Gotham has a bustling Christmas market set up in that huge town square area in "Batman Returns" (it's where Shrek gives his speech that Penguin crashes, if you want to know what scene I'm referring to). Similar to the market set ups that New York has, but also German Christmas markets because I absolutely adore them.
That said, the dorks go together, and Jo does his best to keep track of both Jervis and Ed, but given Ed would be constantly investigating every stall and Jervis would be so enveloped in the atmosphere....Jo has his work cut out for him.
And without realizing, Jervis is suddenly gone, having let go of Jo's hand at some point. To be fair, Jo would have noticed if Ed weren't so distracting. They have a plan in case this kind of thing ever happens though, so their meeting spot is at a Christian nativity scene at the base of the massive Christmas tree.

Simon used to love Christmas that led to hate that led to love once more.
A/N: Merry Christmas you guys!!! ❤️💚Here is the angsty family fluff you all love 🖤 And I KNOW i’m on a Sleeping At Last kick BUT some of things just match alright? 😭
“Takes violent things, angry things…and makes them kind.”
Warnings: angst, mentions of childhood trauma, violance, blood, fluff, dad!simon, soft!simon, husband!simon
simon x reader guide
simon x reader family
“Ya ever think we will have a normal Christmas Tommy?” Simon whispered as Simon gathered the make shift tiny ornaments and tiny lights.
Tommy pulled a small tree that he stole from the closets market. Simon saw that all the other kids were having these lights and decorations in their homes. They talked about it all at school. However, their house didn’t. So when Simon told Tommy about it, of course Tommy told Simon to secretly make things. So when Santa sees that they made them they would get presents.
In the Riley home Christmas was never a thing while dad was around. Only one year that it happened and only year that it happened. Never was it jolly or good. Dad would drink and drink while Simon and Tommy would open presents while be yelled at saying; “You don’t deserve ‘em.” “Ya both been naughty.” “Remember who truly bought ‘em toys.”
It wasn’t until now that Simon liked Christmas. Tommy would make sure that there would be something related to it. Always in secret. “One day but this is our little fun Christmas. They other kids don’t make theirs.”
Simon shot his eyes up at his brother. “Really?”
“Yep,” He placed the tree in the middle of them in the small closet. They both wrapped the tiny thing wire with the lights on around the tree. “They might have bigger things but this is way better Si.”
Both of them took turns on the little paper or plastic ornaments. Laughing at some that Simon drew or what Tommy bunched up. “Ready?” Tommy whispered, Simon nodded waiting oh so patiently. Tommy plugged the small lights in and a tiny white glow came from the tree.
Simon started at the lights, always he loved how they would glow. “Wow.” He whispered and looked at Tommy.
Tommy smiled as he watched Simon hand over a small present to Joseph. With their dad gone they were able to be open with Christmas. Their mom mentioning that it was time to have a good Christmas. Joseph gasped in excitement to have the new train set that he wanted.
Tommy looked at Simon who shrugged as the little kid ran to hug him. The night was smooth and nice as they all gathered around to eat dinner. “Uncle Simon what’s your favorite thing about Christmas?” Joseph asked smiling has he stuffed his face with a roll.
Simon smiled and looked over at the tree lights. “The lights, all of ‘em.”
“Lights,” Joseph asked looking at the tree “Why?”
Simon looked at Tommy and smiled. “They’r pretty is all, huh Tommy?”
Tommy laughed as he shook his head. “Always brother.”
Simon’s heart raced not in excitement for the holiday as in fear. He remembered what the bastard said about his family and he had to get to them before it was too late. His car parked in front of the home with the red and green lights on the roof. Snow on the ground. The chill running down his spine with the cool air hitting him.
He shoved the door open, seeing the lights around the house. Some decorations scattered. Something was wrong, house lights were off and things were a miss. Simon shakily sighed as he walked into the horror.
Simon knelt beside his family, the blood staining his jeans. The door left open as the snowy breeze passes through. It was darkness besides the lights the illuminated the room. Showed the bloody scene of his family.
Simon couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, he looked at the lights and glared. He had to disappear, burned everything to the ground including the lights that he loved so dear. Leaving it all behind.
You knew Simon hated Christmas so you would make sure to have a good evening with nothing around related to it. Even though Simon would tell you it was fine to have decorations and everything. Your agreed to have one thing in the house related to Christmas and it was lights.
One light wrapping the room against the wall. That was it. Simon would avoid it as much as he could. He hated lights. He hated Christmas. Anytime he saw them he saw Tommy. A haunted memory for him to live over and over again. He never told you until 2 years into the relationship of why he hated Christmas.
Your heart broke as you held him and cried. Not for yourself no for the fact that someone would do that to him to the people he loved. “I wan’ to try to but…” Simon stopped looking away, he never was good with complicated emotions. He didn’t want you to stop your traditions with your family.
“It never ruined my Christmas spirit. Always celebrated somewhere else. And that’s okay.” You whispered grabbing his hand.
Simon frowned and looked away. “Neat year I’ll go to your family’s party yeah?”
You nodded as you picked his hand up to kiss his knuckles. The year went by and he kept his promise. While driving there you noticed the way his hand was shaking on your leg. Tapping your thigh. “We can turn around. Say I have the runs.” You joked gently grabbing his hand.
Simon chuckled. “No darling, I promised.”
It was a bit overwhelming for him at first. Your parents hugging him and seeing all the decorations almost put him on a spiral. Until your niece ran up. “Ya here! Uncle Simon will you help me with the gingerbread contest!”
It not only took you by surprise but him. He nodded as he looked back at you with the little girl guiding him to the table. That year their house was the best. Simon made sure that this house would be the only cool one than all the other ones. He took it personally to help your niece.
After that he came every year, slowly you saw happiness form around him. He would help bring a tree into your home. Decorate with you. Piece by piece you saw the man that hated Christmas learn to love it. Even when you became pregnant he made sure that the house would have Christmas.
Your children loved Christmas have the tradition of making small Christmas trees having them in their own rooms. Help decorate the big one in the house. One night Simon and you finally were able to go to bed after setting up that Santa came. He heard a small noise that shot him up.
Thinking it was someone in the home that wasn’t suppose to be there. He stumbled with his three girls. Millie looked as gasped as she sat in front of the tree, followed by Allison, who had Tessa in her arms. “Tessa, you have to be quiet.” Allison whispered as she cooed little loud.
“Dad wakes up he might think we are stealing,” Millie giggled and Millie too as they looked up at the tree. “Should we take our stockings?”
“That would be stealing,” the girls gasped as they turned to see Simon. They all looked at each other but Tessa who was signaling to be picked up. “What are ya all doin’ up?”
“Just seeing if we can catch Santa.” Millie commented looking over at the cookies.
Millie knew of Santa but promised she would play along until the other two knew about him. Simon and you appreciated it as it was important to you two. “I see, did he?”
As Simon picked Tessa up, Allison popped up and grabbed the plate of cookies. “Yes daddy look!”
Simon smiled and looked around. “Ya think he still here?”
Millie chuckled and looked down at Allison. “No he took the bite out of the cookie.” She said placing it back on the small table. “Can we see what we got?”
“Well that would have to wait until tomorrow pretty sure mum wants to see too.” Simon said lowering his hand to Allison.
“Wait, I want to look at the lights longer.” Millie said going to sit back down.
Simon nodded and Millie followed as they both sat down. The girls and Simon sat in front of the tree looking at the lights in the tree. “Daddy lights are my favorite, I really liked the color ones that we went to last time.”
“Same especially the white lights that were shaped as a deer.” Millie comment looking at Simon.
Simon looked at both of them and back at the tree. “The deer was my favorite too, even all the colors that were around.”
“Ohhh like the rainbow bridge!” Millie giggled.
Simon nodded and laughed a bit holding Tessa tighter. “Yeah the rainbow bridge.”
They sat there for a few more minutes before Simon looked at Allison who was falling asleep on his shoulder. He looked at Millie. “Will you carry Tess and I can grab Alls.”
Millie nodded as she gently grabbed the baby. Simon grabbed Allison and carried her bridal style holding her head close to his chest. Millie went to Tessa’s room and Simon went into Allison’s. Before they both went into their rooms Millie turned to him.
“Thank you dad for Christmas.” Millie said smiling at him.
Simon could feel his heart swell with so much love and pride. Simon used to be afraid of Christmas to love to hate to now love again. All because of this family. His family. Simon was so happy that he was able to give the girls a proper Christmas, that was filled with joy. It could still be something to mourn but he always now has something to be comforted with.
Simon smiled as placed a kiss on her head. “Ya welcome princess.”

Hi author it's me again, hehehe, anyways can I request for a scenario where the manager agreed to a date with Oliver Aiku after he begged her and it was caught by the paparazzi but due to the incidents with itoshi sae the boys didn't react that much to it, until when they asked her about it on a video call and she accidentally said how she enjoyed the date Oliver took her to? thank you so much and I really love your writing
Author: Here it is! It's not really the best thing I came up with, but it was the only thing I could really think of😅 thanks for the request🩷

"Don't you look cute for our date today?" Oliver teased, putting a lot of emphasis on the word 'date', grinning as (Y/n) finally arrived at Shibuya's main station. The girl blushed as she looked down at her clothes, which she will admit were a little bit too much for how she usually dresses, but it was Isabella's fault! She didn't let her leave the house till she got dressed up properly. Thankfully none of the dresses Isabella wanted to dress her in were suitable for Tokyo's winter weather. The girl shook her head and looked back at Oliver, who had a smirk on his face and held his hand out for her.
"Shall we?"
"Fine...let's get this done with." (Y/n) sighed and took his hand. Oliver chuckled as he led her through the crowd.
"You act like it's a chore."
"Well, I am on this date because you wouldn't stop asking for a week."
The girl rolled her eyes as Oliver shook his head.
"Technicalities."
What (Y/n) said was true, Oliver was by the end of last week basically on the floor asking her to go to the Christmas market in Roppongi. The scene caused a lot of attention from the staff, so in order to not get more embarrassed she agreed. So this si why she found herself here, in the Shibuya station waiting for their designated ride.
'Why is he insistent on holding my hand? It's not like I will run away.' (Y/n) thought as the boy held her hand tightly, she then looked up at his face, surprised to see how red his cheeks were.
'Maybe he is just cold.' The girl rolled her eyes, remembering how Isabella kept on telling her how red cheeks are always a sign of some sort of affection being present.
'Yeah right... he will probably move on with the next girl he sees as soon as this date is over.' (Y/n) felt a wave of sadness hit her as she thought of that, but she knew she shouldn't feel like that. It's Oliver Aiku after all. Soon the subway arrived and the two walked inside. Oliver sent (Y/n) a few glances here and there, his face heating more up than it already did.
'She is so beautiful... the most beautiful girl I ever saw. I still can't believe she agreed on the date. This is such a great day!' Oliver smiled as (Y/n) looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Everything alright?"
"Perfect, actually."
'Oooh! So pretty! And it smells great too!' (Y/n) thought as she looked at the various food stands, souvenir shops, games, decorations and so much more. Oliver looked down at her and felt his heart stop for a moment, the genuine excitement in her eyes and the smile on her face really made it difficult for him to breath.
'Adorable! I think I fell in love!'
"S-should we go and look at the decorations? There are even designated spots where you can take pictures." Oliver said nervously, gripping tightly on her hand.
"Sure! But, you can let go of my hand."
"Huh? Why?" Oliver asked in panic as they walked through the market.
"You know... you don't have to try hard. I know that tomorrow you will forget about the date and move on. So don't try hard-"
"Wait? Yoh think I am not sincere with my intentions?" Oliver stopped in his tracks, causing (Y/n) to stop too and look at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Oliver, let's be honest with this. With the type of history you have, you can't expect me to-"
"I know, but... but I am honest with my intentions here. It might sound as a cliché romcom movie, but you are the first girl I have genuine interest in and..." Oliver took a deep breath and pulled (Y/n) to the less bossier part of the road. The girl looked at him with slightly narrowed eyes, noticing some frustration and embarrassment on his face as he spoke next.
"I... I am willing to prove it to you. You don't have to believe me right this instant or even in a year if you don't feel like it, but when I said that I like you, that was sincere." (Y/n)'s eyes widened at the honesty in his words as she kept quiet. Oliver grew more nervous and flustered at the silence and felt like dying at the moment.
'Maybe I should have said something else, but around her I can't form anything more coherent!'
"I... alright." (Y/n) spoke up as Oliver looked up from his feet to face a equally flustered girl.
"What?"
"I... I will believe you this one. If you say you are honest with your feelings, then I will believe you and give you a chance to prove it. Just... please if you change your mind, tell me-"
"Thank you!" Oliver grinned, now holding both his hands gently in his.
"I swear I will make it all worth it." (Y/n) felt her face heat up even more at the look he was giving her and how he was holding her hands.
"So, should we see the decorations now? I know the perfect spot for you to take pictures!" Oliver suggested and (Y/n) nodded her head. They resumed walking with the football player still holding her hand.
'This feels nice.' Oliver thought and for a moment felt at peace, but then he felt her grip back onto his hand. Excitement took over his body and he held back a grin as he looked down at (Y/n), who was avoiding his gaze.
'Blissful!'
The day went on as normally as it could, with the duo enjoying the attractions the market had to offer. All the decorations, games, food and so much more tired them both out and they were now sitting in a nearby café, eating lunch and drinking some hot beverages. (Y/n), much to her surprise enjoyed the day, Oliver was being kind and acting like a real gentleman. She was kind of happy for agreeing on the date.
'This is so embarrassing.' (Y/n) gulped as she remembered a small item in her purse.
"Here." Oliver said as he put a bag filled with candy in front of her.
"Hm? What is this for?"
"You said your nephew likes Christmas candy a lot, so I got these."
"Y-you remembered me say that?" (Y/n) asked in shock, she only mentioned it once to Chigiri... and even that was 2 weeks ago.
'How did he remember it... I didn't even know he heard it with the distance back then.'
"You would be surprised how much I remember when it comes to you." Oliver winked, causing (Y/n) to get even more flustered.
'He is so...' She bit back the inside of her cheek as her heart started to beat faster.
The next day (Y/n) was still in a trance from the date. She had conflicting emotions as Isabella showed her the picture someone took of her and Oliver as they were on their way to the café. (Y/n) had to use up all her mental strength to stop her brother from chasing after Oliver. Thankfully her dad wasn't home that morning so she had one less person to deal with.
'This is unbearable... just like that time when people caught Sae-san and I in Spain... tho that was more embarrassing.' (Y/n) facepalmed as she walked back into her room, ignoring her brother's complains and Isabella's gushing over how Oliver and her look good.
"He is too old for her, Isabella!"
"He is 19!"
"...you sure?"
"Don't be mean!"
Sighing, (Y/n) picked up her phone as she heard it ring.
"Hello, Reo?" (Y/n) asked as her phone showed his and Nagi's faces.
"(Y/n), when is your break over?" Nagi asked as the purple-haired boy shushed him.
"Ha? Next week, actually. How is it going in the building? Are you all listening to the substitute manager?" She asked, raising her eyebrow as the two nodded their heads.
"Yeah, don't worry about the old man. We are under Ego-san's surveillance after all." Nagi said nonchalantly.
"We saw that picture someone took of you and Aiku, must suck to have been caught like that off guard." Reo commented, thinking it was a mistake or the situation was taken out of context.
"What were you even doing in Roppongi to meet him there?"
"Ah that? We were out on a date." (Y/n) shrugged her shoulders asbthe line grew quiet and (Y/n) saw their faces pale.
"You..you went willingly on a date..."
"With Oliver Aiku?!" Reo and Nagi asked and (Y/n) heard something crash on the other side.
"What?!" Bachira's voice was heard.
"Yeah, he kept on asking me out last week so I just agreed. Although, I don't really regret it."
"What?!" Nagi asked as Reo's jaw just kept on opening wider.
"Yeah... it was quite fun. I hope he asks again-"
"(Y/n)! We need to talk about you dating anyone! What's Oliver's address? I just want to talk to him." Her brother said from the other side and the girl blushed in embarrassment.
"Sorry you two, see you in a week!" She said quickly and ended the call, ignoring all the protests from the duo.
"What now? (Y/n) can't be falling for Aiku of all people." Nagi cringed as Reo held Bachira back.
"We need to talk with the others. Bachira, can you calm down? Killing him isn't a solution!"
"You are right. It's not a solution, it's the only solution! Let me go!"
Nagi facepalmed, but was tempted to tell Reo to let Bachira go.
'It's just a murder charge, anyways.'
