chlonette prompt: "surprise me".

Me: Hmm, what could be a good prompt that is decided upon my indecisive ass. *looks at the prompt again* Ah yes, let's take this literally lol.

This is the chlonette request by @goldenfoxtrotx ! Sorry this took a while. I was planning to just make it short and fluffy but my mind had other plans xD. Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy!

Surprise Me

"Surprise me."

Chloe must have misheard her, except Ladybug wasn't the type to kid around (well, usually). The heroine looked like she'd rather be anywhere but here in this conversation which made the blonde slightly sober up. She cleared her throat, and smiled "O-of course! I'm Chloe Bourgeois after all! I'd prepare us the fanciest date Paris' superhero will ever be on."

Date.

Marinette groaned as she face-planted on her bed, Tikki hovering over her sympathetically. The recent akuma definitely did not come close to the ones that almost had them but this, this was testing both her patience and sanity.

"It'll be alright, Marinette," Tikki said, hoping to soothe her distraught bearer, "Maybe Chloe on a date isn't so bad."

"I don't know, Tiki," Marinette rolled on her back, staring at the ceiling contemplating leaving Paris for the next few weeks, "I only agreed because she saved me from that akuma's hit. It's...only right. As payback."

"You could have said no," Tikki said, "I'm sure she wouldn't have pushed you to say yes."

Marinette frowned. The blonde's attitude was spoiled and rotten she doubts she would have taken it gracefully. She glanced at the clock; 9:45 pm. An early bed time it is. Perhaps this was all just a big nightmare she hasn't woken up to. Yeah.

"As for the next pair, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Chloe Bourgeois."

Scratch it. This was fucking doomsday. The class went silent as they nervously look between the two students. Clearly, the substitute teacher was not aware of the unspoken rule: do not put Marinette and Chloe in one place within ten meters.

Marinette gritted her teeth as she waited for the blonde to tell the teacher that this was ridiculous and demanded to switch partners.

Except it didn't come.

Chloe merely looked up from her tablet with a bored look, took a quick glance at Marinette and scoffed but otherwise didn't object, "Fine. Just make sure you won't drag me with your clumsiness, Dupain-Cheng."

What the fuck?

And that's how they found themselves seated next to each other to work on the class assignment. Marinette was too stunned to reply and so were the other students. The class moved in a sort of daze before forgetting about the ordeal and focusing on their own task.

Surprisingly - Marinette is starting to think this was a shape shifting akuma that took Chloe's place - the two managed to finish the project with minimal insults (well, as minimal as it can be with Chloe) and was now left in a slightly awkward silence. Close was busy tapping on her table while Marinette fidgeted in her seat. After a few moments passed, Chloe let out a sigh and turned her attention to the fidgeting girl, "What is it, Dupain-Cheng? We've already finished the stupid project."

Marinette looked at the blonde in slight disbelief, "Uhm, n-nothing."

"Clearly." Sarcasm.

"It's just," Marinette hesitated, suddenly enjoying the awkward silence just seconds ago, "You're usually pretty vocal on how you'd rather stain your favorite shirt than work with me." Chloe smirked, "And I still do, however, I'm quite preoccupied so I have no time for that. I got a date."

Marinette paled. Shit. Right, the date. She almost forgot.

Chloe didn't seem to notice her change of expression (or she intentionally ignored it) and continued, "I've got a date with Ladybug and I want everything to be perfect!"

"I see," Marinette replied, "And how do you plan on impressing Ladybug with a date?" Okay, maybe it was a bit rude to ask the person who had ask her alter ego on a date but who could blame her? Given their history, she's a bit wary of what 'perfect' means to the blonde.

"Well, since you're dying to know," Chloe smirked as she flicked her hair, "I've already reserved the whole floor of daddy's hotel just for us for one night. I've had the chef make us the most delicious meals and I picked out the cutest outfit money could buy."

It took everything in Marinette's will to not groan and sigh right there on the spot. Of course, Chloe would choose the fancy route. She was bloody rich and spoiled.

"Uhuh," Marinette replied unimpressed, "I'm sure Ladybug would be so impressed with that, Chloe."

Instead of her usual snide remark, Chloe's smirk wavered, "Of course she'll be impressed. W-why wouldn't she be?"

Marinette's eyed widened as the atmosphere changed. Shit, she probably struck a nerve there. She opened her mouth to apologize but Chloe already beat her to it, "Besides, if Ladybug doesn't end up liking it, then who cares. She just agreed after I pushed her out of the akuma's beam."

Okay, she's definitely struck a nerve.

"Chloe - "

"Save it, Dupain-Cheng."

The cold night breeze tickled her skin. Ladybug spotted the grand hotel just a few buildings away and sighed. She still felt a bit guilty after what happened with Chloe in class and made a mental note to try to apologize tomorrow. Squaring her shoulders, she jumped as she held out her yoyo, swinging under the Parisian night.

She landed on the blonde's balcony and just a few seconds after, the blonde got out to greet her. She was...

Marinette's eyebrows rose in surprise.

...dress in a cute floral sundress and flat shoes. Her usual ponytail was replaced with her hair cascading down her back. Chloe had curls? And wow, she was this pretty?

She must've been staring for a minute because the blonde was blushing and looking down at her feet and Marinette mentally slapped herself.

"Ladybug!" Chloe said, horrified, "why did you slap yourself?!" So much for slapping mentally.

Ladybug just smiled, hoping the blush of embarrassment on her cheek was not evident, "The cold was getting to me. Had to warm up my face somehow." Liar.

Chloe didn't seem to buy it but didn't pry, "O-okay. Uhm, this is for you by the way." The blonde held out a box that she had apparently hid behind her. Marinette was surprised (again, seriously what is it with today and surprises) as she took the box carefully. Curiosity got the best of her as she unwrapped the perfectly wrapped packaged and pulled out an - oh.

It was a red scarf with polka dots. Just like a ladybug.

"I know you and Chat Noir patrol the city at night. The temperature is cold when it's nearing midnight so I thought..." Chloe was different. Really. Was this the real Chloe or Chloe 2.0?

She was still processing everything that the blonde seemed to take her silence as rejection. "But if you don't want it, it's fine with me. I could just- "

"I like it," her voice sounded a bit breathless. Maybe it was the chilly air, or the fact she jumped through buildings to get here or maybe, it was because Chloe was looking at her as she hung on to every word Marinette said. It was slightly...nice. "Thank you, Chloe."

That seemed to snap the blonde from the trance as she blushed again. Gosh, the Chloe Bourgeois was actually shy? Who would have thought.

"Ah, y-yes. It's no problem. Small thing." She looked behind her then back to Ladybug, "Shall we go inside now?"

Wow.

Yeah. Wow. When Chloe had told her she made sure the whole floor was reserved just of the two of them, she thought it meant the blonde threw a ridiculous party that only they could enjoy. But it wasn't. She didn't expect this. She didn't expect the small table at the center of Chloe's hotel room. Or the flowers. Or the fact she made sure the Paparazzi couldn't see Ladybug land and come inside ("I value your privacy," she said when she ushered her inside). This was....not what she had expected.

She felt even more guilty now.

She was also not expecting to... slightly enjoy the date. Okay, maybe she did enjoy the date more than she liked to admit. But who could blame her? She wasn't expecting to be served hot and comforting meals instead of the usual meals served with these fancy dates.

"I didn't know what you liked and I didn't want you to feel as if this was just some cheap date you could have at any restaurant," Chloe said as she took a sip of her soup, "I wanted it to be different."

Good Lord, this night turned a fucking 180. Marinette could only stare and stutter out a 'thank you' before they finished their meals.

After the meal, they decided to go back to the balcony where they did (tried) to stargaze.

"That one looks like a butterfly," Marinette pointed out. She was slightly alarmed at how comfortable she is with Chloe tonight. Chloe looked at where she was pointing and grinned, "Reminds me of Dupain-Cheng's pigtails."

Marinette's looked at her quizzically, making Chloe blush, "It's not like that! I mean, I don't even like her," huh, "I mean..."

Oh. "Yes?" She hoped her voice didn't sound too eager.

"She's fine, I guess," Chloe grumbled but there was a thoughtful expression on her face, "She's still the goody two shoes I met when I was still young but... she's grown a spine lately which I'm...glad for her. That girls needs to learn how to say no."

Oh.

"Oh." Was all she could say. This day really is full of surprises.

The two of them stay silent for a bit before hesitantly getting back to their previous conversation. The two fell into easy talking after, as the quiet night bled on.

Finally, it was time for Ladybug to leave. She lingered by the railings as she contemplated what to say.

"I had a wonderful- "

"I'm so sorry it wasn't the best - "

The two of them looked at each and blushed, looking away. "You go first," Marinette said. Chloe shook her head, "No. You go first."

Sighing but smiling a small smile, Ladybug turned to her companion, "I had a wonderful night. Thank you for inviting me."

Chloe smiled.

Holy shit. I think I'm gay.

This wasn't her usual snarky smirk or grin she threw at anyone who crossed her paths or who was named Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It was a real, swear to God, genuine smile.

It almost made Marinette slip off the railing.

"Thank you...," she replied, "I thought you'd hate it."

"Why would I?"

"Just...a remark from a classmate of mine. I mean, I deserve to be treated that way because I bullied her for years but..."

"But?"

Chloe sighed as she looked away, "But I think I should apologize. Time to be less of a bitch. For me and Papa."

They say third time's the charm but what the actual fuck? Damn. This must be an akuma's work or she'd definitely hit her head way too much she started hallucinating.

"I know she won't forgive me," Chloe's voice brought her back from her musings, "But I'd like to try, at least. "

Marinette couldn't help herself, "What makes you think she won't? This Marinette person seems nice. As you said, she's a 'goody two shoes.'"

Chloe smiled a small smile, "It's fine. I'm a brat either way, I almost lost Adrien and Sabrina and I- " Clothed hands grabbed her face as she met fierce, blue eyes staring at her.

"You will be forgiven. Maybe not by everyone but I'm sure some people would give you a second chance. It's up to you how you're gonna use that second chance."

"Ladybug..." It's only after Chloe said her name breathlessly did she realize how close their faces actually are. She did something she was sure was not awkward.

She let out a squeak and almost fell to her death if if wasn't for her yoyo.

"OkayIseehaveagoodnight! I'msureMarinette would be willing to give you asecondchance."

Then she literally ran form the conversation. Great. Reali slick, Ladybug.

Marinette looked like she was being personally targeted by Hawk Moth (which, technically, isn't far from the truth) as she tried to act as normal as possible in school. Hopefully, Chloe was too sleepy to be here. Hopefully, Chloe was too shocked to be here. Hopefully, Chloe was too busy to be here after last night - oh shit, last night! She left without saying goodbye. Fuck fuck fuck.

"Marinette."

"I'm sorry. Goodnight!"

Chloe looked just as surprised as she was. Marinette groaned. Well, another reason for Chloe to tease her.

"Right..... anyways," the blonde said, her foot tapping nervously, "I was wondering..."

Marinette raised a brow.

"If you wanted to get coffee with me and...chat."

Oh.

"Oh." Damn.

Chloe snorted, her usual snarkiness back but Marinette could have sworn she saw a small smile flash just for a second, "Don't get too excited. I just wanted to...talk about a few things." Few things, sure.

Marinette cracked a smile of her own. Maybe...Chloe would keep to her promise. "Sure, tell me the details later."

The blonde's brows furrowed, "What? Just pick where you want to go, Dupain-Cheng."

Marinette smirked, "You're the one who invited me, Bourgeois."

"Ugh," Chloe rolled her eyes, "You're a pain in the ass. I can't believe I'm doing this. Fine. What do you want?"

Maybe it was the multiple surprises being dropped on her like a bomb, maybe it was the absurdity of the whole situation overall, or maybe she still feels a tiny bit... something, about the almost kiss last night.

"Surprise me."

What would you think if Re-verse Chloe really was trying to do better, but Emo Marinette still thinks of Chloe as an annoying bully because Chloe goes about it the wrong way? What if Re-verse Chloe constantly stalked Emo Marinette in order to look for opportunities to right her wrongs, and sometimes, if she thinks it's the last resort, instead of waiting for luck to come to her, she stages catastrophes so she can be seen to be helping Emo Marinette?

That could be a fun riff on things. There are lots of angles to take as long as it's not just the same stalemate we have in canon.

My own take on things: Audrey is one of The Supreme's minions. She's 'Bee-all' and this is out and Known.

Audrey is still the garbage mom, turned up to 11 because now she's not critiquing the famous, she *is* the famous.

Chloé still desperately wants her mother's love and attention and so apes her (worse) mother even more. We are talking big hats, bobbed hair, pants suits, and all the obnoxious tyrany.

It doesn't work and it visibly doesn't work. Audrey is around a lot so Chloé gets shot down relentlessly no matter what she does.

Emonette, having reformed, will go back to her universe with the proper frame of reference to do the single most powerful act a reformed villain can: reform another villain.

Emonette gets it, you see. She took the pain she felt and passed it on to others to make herself feel less weak and alone. So she *knows* this is the same thing Chloé is doing. She's seen it happen. She actually *relished* seeing Chloé shot down, it was the only payback she could ever get.

Now, emonette just wants the cycle of pain to end, for everyone.

So we can have emonette's own brand of though but direct intervention mirroring what was dine for her.

This keeps personalities close and allows the lesson of the special to be applied forward, both good narrative arcs.

Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 18 Emotion

(So this is completely far ahead in the order and I will likely revisit this when I am able to see it in order. But if this doesnt deter you from reading this review. Spoilers below)

-Andre is here. And is like "Wait, no drama this time?" Then is happy. I am still mad at you andre, but you are a mood

-I really hoped he was planning on leaving

-Wait a minute, they going right into it? Like no drama? Marinette and adrien about to kiss? NO WEIRDNESS? What is this?

-AND RIGHT ON CUE, interuption

-"Was that weird that he left tikki." "Bitch you both weird af"

-WAIT! THEY CONFESSED ALREADY! FUCKING FUCK GLOOB! I WHY WOULD YOU... I... SHIT BALLS DICK HOLE. FUCKING FUCK

-Okay, I am calm. But apparently they havent kissed officially yet

-So Marinette decided to back off on the scheduling thing which is why she doesnt know. Good for her

-Kagami fighting with her mom with kendo swords and then lila shows up...

-Lila... what are you up too. Also Kagami and Adrien are getting introduced as king and queen at this ball which is awkward af because they arent together

-Still has feelings... Oh.... oh no.

-"You arent a precious stone, you're just a stone!' ROASTED. Kagami roasting bitches by the open fire

-No kagami, you SHOULD mean to hurt her

-What the heck, Zoe out here blasting these parties. Good on her.

-Zoe being a good friend here and helping Marinette work stuff out and then giving her a means of getting into the ball.

-So the masks are the way to get in. Also Ali is there. Neat

-Nathalie being passive aggressive is fun

-Lila got denied!

-Kagami laughing over Marinette and adrien being together and having fun. She gets some joy out of that.

-Tikki growing so tired of Marinette's Bulls***

-Good thing those Mask dont have pictures of the person they actually look like.

-Why was adrien stunned at Kagami's ring... Unless... THATS NOT ADRIEN

-Amelie is here and Felix is missing?! Well that confirms my theory

-GET HIS ASS AMELIE

-He didnt invite her to the ball, what the f*** gabe

-"There is always a choice." damn Amelie. Putting Nathalie on blast

-How did she get that dress on so fast. Also Marinette is slaying it.

-They really just copy and pasted that one girl in the background like 5 times

-Chloé just took Marinette because she thinks she's a rich girl. Oh no

-Marinette saying her underling's name was Chloé which is funny to me. Girl shot her insult

-Kagami saying adrien is being the brave assertive guy she always wanted him to be, but Adrien (who I know isnt adrien) is being flirty af. That is Felix, 100%.

-I am like 99% sure Kagami is a sentimonster now

-Adrien/Felix really out here slinging massive dick energy. Like kagami is smitten but cant help but feel its off

-Marinette... thats not Adrien! OH NO

-Gabriel heard the name Marinette and IMMEDIATELY knew s*** was going wrong

-Marinette was precious and I cant help but think, Aww she doesnt

-Wait... IS it adrien? No it cant be something is off. He isnt adrien

-Wow these are lame rich kids

-THERE IT IS! I KNEW IT WAS FELIX

-Where is Adrien?! Also did Chloe just JUMP HER! OMG

-OH SHIT HE JUST TRANSFORMED. Also its dope af

-Wait did he just summon a moon? DID HE JUST GIVE HIMSELF THE POWER OF THANOS!?

-And Chloé is gone. Felix is MVP

-Argos, thats such a cool name

-Gabriel is gone! Felix you lovable little bastard. You are great. Keep it up

-Kagami looks so devastated. BABY GIRL

-Felix cares about his cousin, thats cute

-HE JUST DROPPED MARINETTE IN THE TRASH!

-Marinette wants payback! FOR STRIKEBACK

-OMG! HE GOT A MUSICAL NUMBER! FELIX GOING FULL DISNEY VILLAIN

-OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH UNIRONICALLY

-Felix just embracing it. I feel so much joy (10/10)

-Felix also says NO COPS

-Ladybug really letting Felix have it. Go girl!

-Felix just kicked her into a building.

-Wow... so the Peacock miraculous makes him super strong too? wtf

-Felix trying to make a better world with no masters or slaves.

-Tell me youre a sentimonster, without saying you are a sentimonster

-Felix really thought this out. So bascially saying he will thanos the world.

-Ladybug looking for a solution with... NOTHING?!

-Omg there is no solution. OMG THERE IS NO LUCKY CHARM

-Oh.... I get it hehehe

-Ladybug called his bluff.

-Yo... empty paris. Dark

-KAGAMI!

-Wait... Adrien? Did he ... oh he made the sentimonster earlier and snapped adrien first! thats how... OMG

-So he made the moon earlier in a ring. And they did all this to save adrien

-He planned this for weeks. DAMN so he hid it in the fake ring. Smart

-Its kind of funny that Kagami is just swinging at him like crazy, and Felix has been acting like a little kid thinking he did good. I feel kind of sad man

-You can be happy without your father adrien. But everything else you said is true

-Felix realizes he done goofed. Its sad he went from evil to adorable. Baby boy.

-Marinette's plan worked. Because Felix wasnt a true villain. Nice

-So Polygami coming back anyone? BRING ON THE THRUPPLE! -"My friend... My sister." Yea Felix is 100% a sentimonster

-Yo... can i give Felix a hug. He needs a hug

-Oh so now you can make ice cream for the 3 of them. Sure Andre. You bastard

-The ring... Gabriel... you son of a ....

-And apparently Lila knows he's monarch apparently?!

So I am missing a LOT of what happened. Thankfully it seems like i can piece together a few things.

Adrien, Kagami and Felix are like 99% likely to be Sentimonsters.

Yep... so thats a thing

I think I will rate this a 8/10.

I may not like all the revelations that happened. But Felix stole the show and I loved every scene he was in.

The spotlight followed as he bend down on a knee holding out his freehand for me to take wanting to pull me up with him. "Y/n L/n, would you do a duet with me?"

Everyone in the crowd has their eyes on me. Bending my head down I felt my cheeks are on fire. Luke keeps his freehand out waiting for me. Chloe shoved me forward where I glared back at her. Slowly lifting my hand up I placed my hands in his. He set his microphone down on the stage grabbing my other hand pulling me up onto the stage with him. The crowd started cheering again as I felt my hair fell in front of my eyes. Luke grabbed my right hand in his picking up the microphone from the stage with his other. My heart is beating out of my chest with the spotlight directly on the two of us. "Luke...I can't do this...it's too scary." I shutter out wrapping my arms around myself avoiding his gaze. He closes the distance where our chests are almost touching then lifting my chin up so I'd look him in the eye. "Just keep your eyes on me. We've got this. You've got this baby. Just focus on me, please." He gives me the puppy dog eyes before I take the second microphone from his hands sighing heavily.

"What you doin' in this place?" He started squeezing my hand where I sing under my breath. "Well, I could probably ask you the same thing." He squeezes my hand again when I started looking towards the crowd. "Another round, girl, what you think?" Sucking in a breath I focused back on him. "If you're buying, well, you know I'll drink, some, make it 707." He removes his freehand from mine counting out three fingers when we got to duet part we had practiced earlier. "And we'll go. Shot, for shot, for shot. 'Til we forgot what we came here to forget. Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop. A night we won't regret. So put your drink down, throw your camera up. Flip it around and snap a payback picture." I raise my freehand in the air singing. "I'll send it to my ex." He smiled pointing to himself. "I'll send it to my ex." We both got closer to each other singing in unison. "And send them both a text Saying. "We ain't going home alone tonight". Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go. Home alone tonight."

"Slow country from a cover band." He throws his hands up in the air. "I got you covered if you don't know how to dance. But if you want we could grab a cab." I smile doing a few spins in front of him. "Girl, we got all night, I got a bottomless tab so let's go..." We both turned facing each other striding up microphones almost hitting each other. "Shot, for shot, for shot. 'Til we forgot what we came here to forget. Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop. A night we won't regret. So put your drink down, throw your camera up. Flip it around and snap a payback picture." Luke crossed his arms over his chest leaning against me. "I'll send it to my ex." I giggled even though I picture Caroline when he sings. "I'll send it to my ex." Holding my microphone to his mouth he does the same to me. "And send them both a text saying. "We ain't going home alone tonight". Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go. Home alone tonight."

Twirling around on the stage my hair flies around with Luke smiling at me actually dancing around. "It feels too good to let it end right here. I ain't going home alone tonight." He tugged my wrist pulling me against his chest. "So, let's not let it end, let it end right here." He brushes his nose against mine. "Girl, you're going home with me, let's go." I smirked and we both spun away from each other hearing the crowd roaring like crazy. "Shot, for shot, for shot. 'Til we forgot what we came here to forget. Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop. A night we won't regret. Put your drink down, throw your camera up. Flip it around and snap a payback picture." Luke reached out twirling me underneath his arm with the biggest grin I had ever seen. "I'll send it to my ex." Chloe was cheering with the boys on the front row. "I'll send it to my ex."

The next thing that happens is I am lifted off the ground with him dropping his microphone spinning us around the whole stage for the big finish. "And send them both a text saying. "We ain't going home alone tonight". Home alone tonight!" Luke twirled me once finally sitting me back on my feet arms still wrapped my waist. I try catching my breath throwing my arms around his neck hugging him. We break the hug seeing the entire stadium is up clapping and chanting our names. Luke squeezes me against him when I layed my head on his chest. "Thank you Texas. And thank you Y/n for singing with me tonight." He finished gazing down to me lovingly. The lights went dark where we were backstage trying to catch our breath. Luke removed his hat as I ran a hand through my hair not believing that I just did that. That he made it where I had to sing in front of a bunch of people. "I'm sleeping on the couch tonight aren't I?" He asked being able to read my body language. Crossing my arms over my chest I raised my hand slapping his arm harshly then leaning up on my toes kissing his cheek smiling. "One is for terrifying the hell out of me. The other is because I had fun singing with you Lukey." He rubbed his arm for a second then wrapped his arms around my waist kissing me softly. "I promise next concert I'll give you a heads up on singing...but everywhere else you'll just have to get used to suprises darlin'." He smirks where I kissed him longly.

Marinette ended up becoming the first akuma after the gum incident as Butterfly!Alya's way of trying to help her new friend get justice against her bully. Naturally, Akuma!Marinette went after Chloe and Adrien and got some long overdue payback on the former.

While she was ultimately defeated and restored to normal by the heroes, Chloe threw a massive fit about the whole thing and since they didn't fully know how akumatizations worked at the time, Marinette was removed from the school for "the safety of the student body (aka Chloe)". After the next few akumas targeted Chloe as well, the facts about how akumas work did come out but by that point, it wasn't like the school could just rescind its previous decision and offer to let Marinette come back, especially as Chloe was still a point of issue over it and was still very much furious over the incident to the point she wanted to ignore Marinette's existence.

As for Adrien, he's felt bad since the incident, as he hadn't been able to apologize before Marinette left and he knows that the first akuma happened because of him. It didn't help that a lot of the students know that Marinette was only akumatized because of him and Chloe in the first place, so he wasn't able to make friends with his classmates like he had in the previous timeline.

On top of that, Gabriel was not happy about his son being attacked by a monster when he ran away from home to try to go to public school without his permission. Contrary to canon, Gabriel refused to let him go to school, which was a downer for Adrien.

It's not all bad, though.

On the plus side, Marinette happily settled in at her new school. While there were still bullies and problem students, Marinette wasn't targeted or isolated nearly as badly without Chloe there and even made new friends. Including a new transfer student from Japan named Kagami. They get juice together often, Kagami will model her creations, and Marinette will cheer Kagami on at her fencing tournaments.

But some things still happen the same, like the hat contest. Only since Gabriel no longer has trust for Francois Dupont due to the attack and continuing attacks particularly against the Mayor's daughter, he has the hat contest at a different school which Marinette wins.

This gives Adrien a chance to interact with her again, but she is understandably not happy to see him.

Fortunately, he does still do fencing and meets Kagami, who decides she would like her fencing rival and her good friend to be friends and helps to mediate a conversation between the two in which he apologizes for the gum incident and not being upfront with her and she apologizes for turning into a monster and trying to attack him.

They get ice cream and hang out together after fencing practices.

Much to current Alya's frustration.

At least, that's the current plan.

This Doesn’t Mean We’re Friends - Ch. 1

Okay, first chapter down, a ton more to go, I hope you like it! Lmk what you think! and always tell me if there’s anything I can improve or change to make the story or my writing better!!

Chloe was shocked at how easily these people, her classmates, had believed Lila's lies. Even Alya, who was supposedly baker girl's bff, and a reporter for that matter. But one by one, Chloe had watched as her classmates had been drawn into the easily fact checked web of lies. The only ones who seemed to know any different were Chloe herself, Adrien and Dupain-Cheng.

She had never particularly liked the girl, but she was aghast at how easily the other girl's friends had cast her aside, and honestly felt sorry for her. She was even blown away at how even after everything, Dupain-Cheng had stood up to the liar.

Adrien, on the other hand, she was not impressed with. She didn’t even realize that he knew better than to believe Rossi until she had tried to get him to dump Lila when they started dating. He had said something about keeping Lila happy so she didn’t try to take it out on others or become akumatized. Even though they had been friends for years - Adrien being one of the only people who she had ever genuinely liked, and that had genuinely liked her - she had lost almost all of her respect for him in the two minutes it took for him to explain what he had been telling Dupain-Cheng.

Really, that whole high road crap was ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. She wasn’t quite sure how the baker girl hadn’t snapped yet. That’s probably why she had spoken up when Lila and Alya were taunting the bluenette one morning.

Chloe arrived to class early, as usual. The only other people there were Max and Nathaniel. Soon, the rest of the class began to trickle in. When Lila and Adrien walked in the door, everyone but Marinette was present, talking amongst themselves or catching up on schoolwork or snacking before class started.

Once Rossi entered, however, all eyes were on her, looking to the girl to begin their day with more absurd stories of her exciting travels. Chloe stopped listening and ended up pulling her phone out and scrolling through social media. When Dupain-Cheng walked through the door, however, she silently tuned back in, waiting to hear what Lila or Alya might say to the girl now that she was here.

After finding out what Adrien had been telling the girl for the last two months, she realized that she was just as bad as he was if she was letting Lila bully the baker girl without support. But she didn't know what to do about it. She doubted Dupain-Cheng would just accept her as an ally after everything Chloe had done to her, even as forgiving as she was.

Currently, though, the class was talking about that miserable gala her parents were hosting in a few weeks. She had to go and entertain ridiculous people all night, and she was not looking forward to it. Especially now that Adrien stupidly let Lila tag along with him. "I bet Marinette wishes she could be as good as you Lila and go to the gala." Alya smirked. That girl was really getting on Chloe's nerves lately.

When she looked over at Dupain-Cheng, she saw that the girl looked both resentful at Alya, but also maybe a little jealous of Lila? Of course, Chloe thought. She was an aspiring designer, of course she'd want to go to the gala. If only she realized how boring and formal it is.

Chloe desperately wished that she wasn't just going to be talking to her parents' friends out of politeness or chatting up potential business partners out of duty. "Do you want to go to the gala with me, Marinette?" She said loudly enough for the whole class to hear. She had only half thought through her plan, but she knew she wanted the whole class to know about it. She did feel bad about putting Dupain-Cheng on the spot like that, but she was pretty sure she'd say yes anyways. She caught the designer's stunned expression and winked at her, trying to clue her into her intention.

It sufficed, seeing as the girl smiled deviously and said, "I would be honored miss Bourgeois."

Lila looked like she was about to explode, Adrien looked worried, and Chloe looked pleased with herself for putting those expressions on their faces. The rest of the class was a mix of indignation and anger. "She shouldn't get to go, she's a bully-" "Of course, the two brats are going together, it's like they were made to be friends." "She can't just invite her like that, she doesn't own all of Paris." "Why does she get to go? It's so hard to get in!" The chorus of complaints was stifled by Chloe.

"I do just get to invite her if I want, because my parents are hosting it, and it's being thrown at the Grand Paris. And since I was going, and I needed a plus one, my mom will be thrilled that her favorite young designer will be in attendance."

The class looked at her in shock, annoyance, and anger. The designer looked... grateful? But also a little surprised. Chloe couldn't blame her for that, but right as Dupain-Cheng opened her mouth to speak, Ms. Boustier walked in and began class.

Marinette ran to catch up with Chloe after class. She stood next to Chloe at their lockers, which had been next to each other’s all year. At the start of the year, Marinette thought that it had been payback for some terrible thing she had done in her past life that she had ended up next to Chloe, but now, she thought that it just might turn out to be convenient.

"I-" she hesitated, choosing her words carefully. She decided to go for sweet and simple. "Thank you."

Chloe scoffed. "I didn't do it for you, my mom wanted to invite you anyways, and I wasn't going with anyone." Marinette might have been hallucinating but she thought she might have caught the faintest glimpse of a smile on Chloe's face.

"But that doesn't mean you needed to invite me. So thank you."

"This doesn't mean we're friends. I just wanted to see Rossi's face when I said you were going." Chloe snapped her locker shut and walked away briskly, leaving Marinette to smile to herself.

Miraculous World AU

FUCK THE SCHEDULE AND THE A/B/O, WE’RE BACK ON OUR CHLOLIX DEMAND

an au where Alix gets the ladybug miraculous and Chloe gets the cat miraculous but with twist;

Because its also an Au where the miraculous exist in this 3d online fantasy MMORPG with action-oriented combat in an alternate universe modeled after modern society right now. With country servers and custom avatars who are gifted with a superpower, emitter, transformation or mutant; everyone gets one on random when they first come on.

You can choose to be civilian, where you focus on hospitals, food etcetera; helping both npc’s and players or a Hero, where you fight mobs, defeat bosses to level up.

But, in the start, around the beta age before it starting picking up popularity; There was this lil bit of lore about a custom item that you can get after completing random quests,

The miraculi; a magical jewerlly that an old man that blends in with the background will give you after a lil chore. He would ask questions and depending on how you’d answer after completing his lil quest, you’d be given one that would fit you.

The only reason people ignored him is bc he didn’t give much XP and a jewerlly was simply a cosmetic item back then.

(Alix accepted the quest with Chloe bc Alix wanted to give her the jewerlly as a gift. The fact that it had powers was a bonus)

Now, onto our main characters.

Alix is a popular streamer who plays this game professionally. Who goes by the name Neferti (After alot of Chloe whining to make their name match) before she got big time and is known as the only Ladybug Holder.

Chloe’s username is Anubis after getting the cat miraculous(only holder) and was even gonna name herself to Queen C before that get kicked to the ground bc Alix wanted cool names. Luckily, she managed to get some payback by naming herself Anubis (just bc she knew that Alix knew a lot about Egypt lore for some reason, she also legit thought that Anubis was a cat)

But the thing is, Anubis and Neferti?? They married for the extra xp back when they were kids. Until Chloe had to move and got so busy that she forgot to log on.

So.. after years of no contact; it’d be shocking when during a usual stream, a notif would pop up on the screen that’d make throw both the chat and Alix into a frenzy.

Blacklisted

"Blacklisted…" Marinette whispered her face blank as she stared at Chloe's worried face. "Adrien and Lila had Gabriel blacklist me." Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes as she choked back sobs, she covered her face with her hands. Chloe moved quickly pulling her shaking friend into her arms. "What am I going to do Chloe? Fashion was my future-and-and they ruined it for me. Four years of college all for nothing." Marinette sobbed into Chloe's shoulder as both girls sank to the ground.

"I don't know Marinette, I really don't know." Chloe said quietly she pulled back and pulled a handkerchief out of her bag. She brushed it across Marinette's cheeks wiping away the tears. "My mother confronted him and he refused to unblacklist you. It ended in a screaming match and mother declaring that Bourgeois would never associate with them again. Mother has been trying to counter the blacklist but Agreste has gotten too far already Mari." Marinette sniffled nodding as Tikki and Pollen flew over to their holders tentatively, the other Kwami remained near Pollen's little mansion.

"There is nothing that can be done? There has to be something!" Tikki said with anger clear in her voice. Marinette gave her a sad smile holding out her hand for Tikki to sit in it. Pollen landed in Chloe's open hand curling her arms around Chloe's thumb.

"No Tikki there is nothing we can do. We just have to move on." Marinette said they could all hear the anguish in her voice. She took a deep breath stopping herself from crying. "Plagg," she called softly , causing the Kwami to fly over. "normally I wouldn't allow this, but I think Gabriel has a streak of bad luck coming don't you?" Plagg was silent before her let out a loud cackle flying around Marinette's head.

"Oh kid, you're my favorite Ladybug for sure! What do you say Tikki, want to take away his creativity?" Tikki frowned part of her wanted to join in, but part of her pointed out that she should be the better person. "Come on Sugar Cube, I know you want to get payback for your chosen." Plagg said softly, smirking more when Tikki sighed and nodded.

"But only once." She said looking at him with her own glare.

"It's funny," Audrey commented during dinner, she looked up with a smirk. "ever since Gabriel made the mistake of blacklisting you six months ago his designs have really dropped." She let out a laugh before taking a sip of her wine. "On top of that he has not only lost workers, but I heard there is a scandal going on with his son and the model of his!" Chloe snorted at that shaking her head, she took a bite of her steak. She glanced over at Marinette sending her a gentle smile, Marinette returned it before turning back to Audrey. "Mari dear, have you decided on what you want to do? I told you once I have absolutely no problem with you remaining here. On top of that I am more than willing to help you sell your designs under the acronym MDC like you've been doing with Jagged." Marinette glanced down at her food before looking up with a small smile.

"I am going to keep designing for Jagged and Clara. However I will not for others

, no, I have other plans now. Audrey you like my food, pastries, and weird drinks, yes?" Audrey glanced at Chloe in confusion before nodding.

"Yes I find it pretty amazing that you can make pastries from all over the world. Your apple pie is my favorite, although it is the reason that I have to work out so much." The comment caused the two young women to burst into soft laughter. "What does this have to do with anything?" Marinette smiled and placed her elbows on the table resting her chin on one hand. She smirked slightly thinking over her plan.

"You see they derailed my dream just a bit, yes, but I have two loyal customers so I'm not completely stuck. I am not a one trick pony, I have a lot of talents." The mother and daughter were silent both confused, causing Marinette to laugh softly. "I was raised in a bakery, and my Great Uncle is a world renowned chef. I think a restaurant is in my future." Audrey smirked as she held her wine glass up.

"You see Mari, this is why you're one of my favorites, you never let anything keep you down. You'll have my backing and my husband's as well. With Chloe's help we are going to make your restaurant a hit." She shared a smile with her daughter knowing that Marinette's restaurant would be a hit when it opened. "Just one question Mari, what is the theme?" Marinette smirked looking over at Chloe with a twinkle in her eye.

"It's going to be subtlety themed around Paris's heros. Ladybug, Lynx(Felix), Viperion, Ryuko, Queen Bee and current Honeywell. Each hero will have their own signature dish. That is their personal favorite, Ladybug's is macaroons with her famous spotted design. Lynx's is Soupe à l'oignon, and so on. Desserts will be specially designed after their hero., While meals will be served on dishes resembling their costumes."

“Well, you know you’ll have my full backing. Once you pick the perfect location I will have construction workers on the site, and once they’re done interior decorators to listen to your every input! On top of that I will make sure to talk up your restaurant to every business partner I have.” Audrey declared gently dabbing around her mouth with a napkin. She placed the napkin down before standing up; she made her way to Chloe grabbing her daughter's face and kissing her forehead gently, before doing the same to Marinette. “Now it is time for me to retire to bed. Don’t stay up too late girls!” She waved walking to the door nodding when Butler Jean opened the door for her. “Much appreciate Jean.” She gave him a rare smile, one which he returned with his own. Chloe and Marinette shared a look giggling softly together as Jean closed the door behind Audrey.

“Well, Dupain-Cheng, shall we retire as well?” Chloe said mimicking her mother’s voice. Marinette snorted covering her face with her napkins as Butler Jean gave Chloe a stern look struggling to hide his own smile.

“It’s beautiful.” Audrey said in awe taking in her once protegees restaurant. The outside of the store was simple yet elegant. Cream bricks with black accents, the two large windows were slightly tinted and had the name written in elegant cursive. ‘Miraculous’ The outside sitting area was gated off with a station for the host that provided shade on particularly hot days. It was divided into different sections, for certain Parisian heroes. Ladybug, Lynx, Viperion, Ryuko, and Honeywell. Each section was styled after their hero, Marinette and the interior designers had managed to make it so the colors didn’t clash. Instead they gave off a look of abstract beauty. In the middle of the outside area sat one table that had a sign stating it was permanently reserved for the original Queen Bee. The table made Chloe shine with happiness that only doubled once she realized that there was also a table inside reserved just for her. The inside was much the same except in the middle of the restaurant their was another table for Chloe. There was a window that took up much of the back wall, displaying the kitchen where ten chefs were divided in two, each learning their heroes menu together. There were two hallways on either side, the right had the bathrooms and the left had five private rooms. Each styled after their hero. "I must say, I was unsure that you'd be able to fit their colors together. However, you and the interior designers pulled it off flawlessly. May I see the menus?" Marinette smirked a twinkle in her eye as she held up five menus.

"Five menus for each hero. Which one would you like to see? The waiters and waitresses are instructed to request what hero's menu they would like to eat from. Each has eight different meals, five deserts, one specialty drink, and specialty salad, the only thing they have in common is drinks. side salads and soups. Two waiters and two chefs for each hero, more will be added if needed. The chefs have their own spaces together in the kitchen." Marinette surveyed the restaurant, a smile taking over her face as she took in her finished product. Butler Jean walked up placing a hand on her shoulder, his gentle smile already present.

"If I may break character for just a second, I must say and I'm sure Mistress Bourgeois and Mistress Chloe agree, I am quite proud of you Miss Marinette. You've truly outdone yourself." Chloe nodded and came up hugging Marinette's arm smiling at her as Marinette started to tear up. The tears didn't fall until Audrey placed her hand on the back of Marinette's head, a rare smile on her face.

"Thank you for everything." She whispered softly, smiling brightly at them.

"Don't bemused, it's just the news! Nadja Chamack back again! Good afternoon Paris! New in Paris today, I'm sure you have all heard of the hit restaurant Miraculous that only opened a week ago! Well Paris, I have the inside scoop for you today! I was invited by the owner of the restaurant just last night! Now I am sure you are all wondering! Nadja, how did you get a direct invitation?! I was shocked too! Only to discover the owner of the restaurant was my goddaughter Marinette Dupain-Cheng! Marinette is twenty-three years old and now owns one of the most popular restaurants in Paris! Let me tell you! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and styled after our heroes, you all know Ladybug is my personal favorite. So Marinette set up a private room for my daughter and me. She has five private rooms, all designated with a specific hero, so obviously my room was Ladybug's! I must say the restaurant is truly one of a kind! Marinette has out done herself, and its not just me saying that. Jagged Stone, Audrey Bourgeois, Clara Nightingale, and even some famous actors and musicians have all gone to Miraculous this past week. Each one had raving reviews, so much so that many celebrities and even some heroes are coming to Paris just to eat there. Pictures on Jagged's and Clara's Instagrams show them posing with a bright eyed Marinette, in one of the private rooms together! I think Paris agrees with me when I say this, congratulations Marinette, and I must say this to my goddaughter, I'm so proud of you Marinette. Now it’s time for sports-" Lila paused the tv glaring at is as she stared at the picture of Marinette between Jagged and Clara. She screamed throwing the remote at the wall, causing Adrien to tense up in their share kitchen. He sighed glaring down at his coffee only sparing a glance at the tv as he stirred.

'When will she stop causing problems, I seriously thought she was more mature than this. But no she just has to keep thrusting herself into the spotlight knowing it'll piss Lila off.' He shook his head turning to watch his fiance finish her tantrum, as a smirk covered her face, a plan clearly forming. Only briefly did he wonder what the new lie was going to be this time. 'I am surprised she didn't just give up when we ruin her dream. Lila and father thought for sure that would break her.' He glanced down at his right hand where the ring use to rest anger growing in his chest. 'She deserves it, if she had just kept her mouth shut things would be different. No, she had to tell Ladybug everything when she discovered my identity. If it wasn't for her I'd still be Chat Noir, things would be different. I'd be with the love of my life and out of my father's control. This is all her fault, she deserves to be ruined.' Lila turned to him with a predatory smirk, her eyes glinting in the light as she walked up to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck leaning against him standing on her toes as she lifted one leg into the air. She bit her lip before kissing him and pulling back their lips barely touching as they stared into each others eyes.

" We're going to get reservations at her crappy little restaurant, and we are going to destroy it and her name for good." Adrien smiled and placed his mug down wrapping his arms around her waist. He pulled her closer kissing her deeply before pulling back

"I'll have Nathalie set them up for us under my name. Now go get dressed, we have a photoshoot at 5." He let Lila go picking up his phone and texting Nathalie as Lila went to the shared room in their penthouse. He picked his coffee back up and starred at the picture of Marinette on the tv a smirk crossing his face.

Two days later however they were all furious when the reservations were denied under all their names. They were only given reservations after using a fake name. When the day came they were dressed to impress and arrived in a limo. Lila smirked before letting her mask fall into place, as paparazzi turned to them and started taking pictures. She wrapped her arms around Adrien's arm giggling and waving at them until they reached the door only to be stopped by two guards and a hostess who was looking down at her book. "Name?"

"We are under Anthony Stewart." Adrien said smiling charmingly. The host ran her finger down the book till she came to the name. She nodded and looked up glancing at them before turning to the guards only to turn back surprised.

"I apologize we do have a Anthony Stewart down for reservations but you are not him." Adrien smiled nodding to her glancing at Lila.

"Yes, you see my assistant set up the reservation for us under his name." The hostess gave them a tight smile before nodding politely.

"Yes we do allow that to be done here. Unfortunately I am still not allowed to let you in." She said holding back a smirk at their shocked faces as the cameras began to take even more pictures.

"What do you mean you're not allowing us in?!" Lila said anger displayed clearly on her face.

"I'm truly sorry, here Maya let me take over while you take care of our other guests." Marinette said as she stepped out of the restaurant. She hair was pulled into an elegant up do, still wearing her signature black earrings. However she had a simple pairing of silver glasses on and was wearing a pink pencil skirt a white ruffled top and a black blazer. Her nails were a soft pink matching her toes as she wore black open toed heels. Both Adrien and Lila saw the glint in her eye even though she was smiling politely at them. "I really hoped you would all take the hint when reservations under your name were all rejected. You see I refuse to allow petty drama cause problems for my restaurant, and I'm afraid that you two bring drama with you where ever you go. However I can see my hint was not noticed so I'll tell you myself. Lila Rossi, Adrien Agreste, you two and your families are banned from setting foot into my restaurant. So sorry, but after you two repeatedly bullied me, spread lies about me and tried to ruin my future, I simply couldn't find it in myself to allow you in. Now please leave, your blocking other customers." Marinette turned and began to walk back into the restaurant until Adrien grabbed her arm dragging her back roughly.

"Now listen here Marinette!" He started until Marinette turned to him no fear in her eyes as she drew her free arm back and decked him. Adrien released her arm falling backwards holding his nose in pain, Marinette falling to the ground holding her arm gingerly.

"How dare you!?!" Lila snapped dropping down and wrapping her arms around Adrien's shoulders protectively, glaring at Marinette attempting to play the victims. "Thats it! We are sueing you for everything you have, I can't believe you just assaulted Adrien!" She smirked as she watched an officer get out of her car and advance on them. "Officer! Officer please arrest her! She just assaulted my fiance!" Lila cried out as tears began to fall.

"I'm afraid I'll be taking Mr. Agreste into custody instead Miss Rossi. I was here the entire time and I watched him grab Miss Dupain-Cheng roughly. He assaulted her and she defended herself." Sabrina said staring down at the two as Lila looked up at her in shock. Another officer pulled up with his lights on and stepped out of the car. "Raincomprix, an ambulance is on the way to fix his nose before I take him in. Please make sure to get the photographers names, emails and numbers so that we can get pictures and possibly videos. Then take Miss Dupain-Cheng statement along with pictures of her and her arm, I'll take his pictures. After that get witness statements." Sabrina nodded before pulling out her notebook and walking over to the paparazzi. A few minutes later an ambulance pulled up and took care of Adrien before he was escorted to the back of the police car. Lila stood watching in shock, her mind running a mile a minute, she was quick to flee the scene once she realized pictures were still being taken.

The next day they were all over the news and everyone was on Marinette's side. Videos and pictures were all over social media and Gabriel's lawyers told him that there was no way they could save Adrien from being guilty unless they took a plea bargain. Adrien would admit his guilt and instead of jail time he had to pay Marinette a settlement and was given a restraining order to not come within fifty feet of her for five years. Gabriel's brand took a great hit and for a while Lila and Adrien couldn't step outside with out receiving glares or being refused business. Their reputations were dearly hurt and it didn't look like they'd ever be fixed. While Marinette was higher than ever everyone viewing her as a strong and amazing person after she didn't let his attack hold her back. This drove them crazy but they knew they couldn't do anything, Lila however decided that Hawkmoth just needed to target Marinette. Unluckily for them, it was that targeting that gave away Gabriel's identity to Ladybug and the Miraculous team.

A few months later it was breaking news when the Miraculous team brought in Gabriel, Natalie, and Lila and exposed them as Hawkmoth and Mayura, and that Lila was working with them. Adrien was spared after Ladybug revealed that he was Chat Noir. Everyone was ecstatic, parties were thrown and statues of the heros were placed in different parts of the city. It was shortly after that it was revealed that Gabriel blacklisted many people and allowed his designers to steal work in the hopes that they'd get others akumatized. Marinette was ecstatic that her name in fashion was cleared but she told the press she wasn't planning on going back into fashion. That only a few people would receive her designs, and they would only be those that Clara or Jagged recommended. It was a few months later that Gordon Ramsey visited her restaurant everyone was expecting Ramsey to find something to tear apart and were extremely surprised when he made a tweet praising Marinette's meals and her chefs talents. It actually spurred a friendship between the two and soon Gordon was added to the list of people that received her designs. After this everyone was going to Marinette's restaurant, they had reservations book 6 months out. Every day there is new pictures of celebrities at the restaurant Marinette was the new name in restaurants and cooking. She even agreed to star on some cooking shows. Her favorite guest spot was on Nailed it. The show was themed after heroes Jacques Torres made cupcakes specialized after America's heros, while Marinette made a five tier cake, each tier representing a different Parisian hero. Marinette lost it when she saw the cupcakes for Batman and Robin she couldn't stop laughing and immediately took pictures. Marinette and Jacques held multiple conversations in French, both struggling not to laugh as Nicole made faces at them. When Marinette pulled out the money gun she flicked her head done and a pair of Eiffel Tower shaped glasses covered her face. She looked at Nicole seriously and nodded before saying she was ready to complete the mission. This cause Nicole to burst into laughter. After the winner was announced Marinette made another announcement, all three contestants and their family had an all expenses paid trip to Paris and a free meal at her restaurant Miraculous. It was shortly after that, that Marinette began to open more restaurants starting in each heroes city. Twenty-five percent of their earnings went to either the heros in question or a charity that they picked. Marinette's restaurants got popular quickly and soon she was named the youngest billionaire and only twenty-five years old. Everyone was shocked when majority of her money was put towards charity and thar she began different foundations to help others. She even began programs to pay for peoples schooling in university and colleges. Soon she was invited to charity events all over the world, from the Maria Stark Foundation to the Martha Wayne charity Gala. When she is twenty-six Marinette moves out of Audrey's penthouse and travels between different homes until settling down into a penthouse in New York. Audrey and Chloe both follow her over Audrey simply returning and establishing New York as her base of operations once again.

Payback

Hey everyone! I’ve been writing this new story for the past couple of days, and am planning to take a break for a while after this. My husband and I are expecting our first child next week and will be focusing on her. For that reason, I decided to give the class some sugar, as we all need some goodness in the world. I’ll be back when things settle down, but until then, Warm-Fuzzies and please enjoy!

It was just an average conversation. Alya was sitting at her desk before class with Lila since Marinette was late again. It was very pleasant until the italian girl said something… wrong.

“After I saved Jagged’s kitten from being run over by the plane and he wrote that song about me, we kept in touch.” Lila tittered away, without a care. “He ended up mentioning how he wanted a pair of special glasses for his tour, so I made him those Eiffel Tower glasses that he loves so much. Next thing I know, he’s bragging about me to all his friends and they’re all asking me to make things for them too. I ended up making a website and going by the alias MDC. Isn’t that amazing?”

Alya hadn’t had a chance to answer as Marinette came rushing into the room a second before the bell rang and Mme. Bustier began her lesson. Although whatever the teacher was saying was practically ignored by the majority of the class that had heard Lila’s claim.

Because they knew.

They had been there when Marinette had made those glasses for Jagged Stone for the work experience day at Chloe’s family hotel. They knew that Marinette went by the acronym MDC for the initials of her name. Max, Rose, Juleka, Mylene, Kim, and Alya had all helped Marinette set up her website and model her designs a couple months ago, while Lila had been traveling…

She’s a LIAR!! They all thought at once.

During the next break, Alya quickly set up a group chat with everyone but Lila and Marinette.

FoxyJournalist: You all heard that, right? She’s lying about being MDC, but that’s Marinette!

DJTurtle: So not cool, doesn’t she know that we were there? Is this some kind of joke?

MightIllustrator: Don’t think so, she’s still bragging about it back here.

GothicBeauty: @DJTurtle Agreed, not cool.

Rocker’n’Pink: I can’t believe it! I just emailed Prince Ali to see if he knows her, because if Lila’s lying about this…

By the time class started again, everyone had agreed to meet up after school. The hard part, as it turned out, was shaking the liar, who practically latched onto their group and wouldn’t let them be. It was Mylene you finally came up with an idea, mentioning that they were going to the homeless shelter to help feed people and clean the facility. Lila suddenly remembered that she already had plans and couldn’t come help them, before turning to walk home.

Once she was out of earshot, Alix turned to the other girl with a smirk. “Good going, how’d you know that’d work?”

Mylene shrugged. “I was thinking earlier about all the times she talked about charity work but always made excuses to not come with us when we were doing it. I figured she’d do it this time too, and I was right.”

An hour later the entire class; sans Marinette, Lila, and Adrien, who was at a photoshoot, were gathered in the Cesaire apartment. Everyone had their phones or tablets out, looking up everything that Lila had told them since coming to school. And what they found was anything but comforting.

Connection to Jagged Stone due to saving a kitten: lies, according to articles about his one and only pet for the past 17 years, Fang the crocodile.

Connection to Prince Ali via Go-Green charities: lies, according to Prince Ali himself when he responded to Rose’s email, plus he didn’t do green charities, instead focusing on children’s charities.

Secretly dating Adrien: lies, confirmed when Adrien called Nino back during a break and let it slip that Lila was only his friend and that she made him uncomfortable at times because of how clingy she was.

Every single thing they looked up about Lila turned out to be a lie. And although they couldn’t prove it themselves, that likely meant that all of the diseases and injuries that she’d claimed to have were probably fake too. Meaning that they had been buying her lunch and giving her money for charities, and the money was probably going straight into the liar’s pocket.

“By my calculations, when including all the lunches and food we bought for her, money we donated for charities she wasn’t involved in, and tickets for events she attended with us; Lila Rossi has scammed close to €1,000 from our class. All of which we are not likely to get back from her.” Max groused as he typed away on his tablet.

Alix scoffed. “At least all we lost was some money and a bit of our dignity. I’m pretty sure Marinette went through a lot more than us. Heck, that liar tried to convince me last week that Marinette ruined her homework and said ‘if only she understood what it was like for someone to do that to her’ like she was trying to get me to destroy Marinette’s homework as revenge. I didn’t do it, but I let her copy my homework so she wouldn’t lose any points.”

Juleka’s pale complexion went stark white. “She kept telling me how Marinette was only friends with me so she could get close to Luka and make Adrien jealous, and that I was really trusting to let someone like that near my family.”

“When my headphones broke, she told me that she’d seen Marinette messing with them earlier,” Nino told them, his voice laced with guilt as he remembered giving his oldest friend the cold shoulder for days after that.

Alya’s head dropped into her hands as she struggled to hold back tears. “That liar almost had me convinced that Mari was nothing but a jealous bitch who was out to get rid of her since they both had a crush on Adrien. I can’t believe how close I came to buying that bull.”

“And then there’s the expulsion,” Rose added, her voice quivering. “She was accused of stealing, assault, and cheating on that mock exam. Even though Marinette was reinstated, that kind of stuff doesn’t just disappear from someone’s record. What if that keeps her from being accepted into lycee?”

Everyone went pale at that. Although most turned red in the face a moment later from rage for their friend.

“We can’t let her get away with this!” Kim growled as he began pacing the room.

“But is there anything we can really do?” Mylene asked with tears in her eyes.

When the blonde heiress chuckled, sitting off to the side of the room, everyone turned to glare at her, but she wasn’t phased by their looks. “And this is exactly why I decided to come here. None of you have any idea how to deal with someone like Rossi. I, however, have dealt with those types of people multiple times.” The glares ceased, realizing that Chloe was probably right.

“One of the best ways to get back at her, would be to use her own lies against her. Do it in a way that the only way out of it is to admit that she’s a liar. And while we do that, we completely tear down the empire that fake HBIC is trying to build, maybe get her expelled like she tried to do to Dupain-Cheng.”

The class stared at her in surprise, not expecting the former hero to actually be useful in this situation. But what she said…

Alya shook her head in surprise. “I never thought I’d say this, but it sounds like you’re the best option. Please, tell us your plan.”

The smirk Chloe gave them, almost made them feel sorry for what was about to happen to the liar.

The following morning when Lila came to class, she saw everyone fawning over something on their phones or tablets. Curious, she stepped next to Alya and looked over her shoulder to find that she was looking at the MDC website.

She smirked for a second before plastering an appreciative, yet shy grin on her face. “I see you found my website, what do you think of my designs?”

“Gurl, they are gorgeous! I can’t believe you made such intricate clothes and accessories!” Alya gushed as she continued looking through the pictures until she stopped on a design that she had modeled for Marinette, although, like all the other photos, her face wasn’t shown. “And this one here! It’s like a total dedication to Rena Rouge. Make no mistake, Ladybug will always be my favorite, but Rena’s power is really awesome too.”

“I’m glad you like it!” Lila smiled, she was about to go into describing how she was inspired by the design when Alya asked her something surprising.

“Do you think I can have it? Pretty please?”

Lila came up short, not having expected this. “Well, you can just order it from my website-” she began saying, only to stop when Alya’s expression dropped.

“I don’t understand. You always say that if we need anything to just ask you, and you have this dress listed as in stock on your website, it would be nothing for you to just give it to me, right?”

“I-um-”

“And you even told Marinette the other day that if she were a real friend, she wouldn’t mind giving us free pastries whenever we ask, right?”

“R-right! I’m just surprised that you would be so interested in one of my designs. I’ll bring it in tomorrow!”

“Thanks gurl, you're the best.” Alya gushed before giving Lila a hug that actually kind of hurt.

Hurrying back to her seat, Lila resisted the urge to curse as she got onto the MDC website to order and overnight the dress to her apartment. Luckily, the mail normally arrived before she left for school. And doing this would help her convince everyone she was the designer MDC.

Lila’s newest lie about being MDC wasn’t going as planned. Sure, she got a lot of praise and people wearing her designs, but it was costing her. Every time she brought in an item that she’d had to buy and overnight to her apartment to give to one of her classmates, another would practically demand another item that was listed as available on the MDC website. A hat for Alix, a hoodie for Kim, a shirt for Max, a dress for Rose, it went on and on. And when she tried to say that she couldn’t, they would say how Marinette would never do such a thing and then start to question what she told them. This left her no choice but to buy everything they wanted herself and give to them.

Sure, it made her lie all the more believable since she was able to deliver the items they asked for, but it was beginning to clear out her savings. At the rate she was going, she was probably MDC’s best customer.

Then came the day when the MDC website began offering custom orders. Alya asked Marinette for a couple sheets of paper from her sketchbook and a pencil before handing it to Lila. “Gurl, I’ve been wanting you to do something custom for me for weeks, but I wasn’t going to ask since you didn’t have it listed on your website and I didn’t want to take advantage of you. But now, I can tell you exactly what I want and I can even record your process for my blog! Isn’t that awesome?”

Lila gripped the pencil until it nearly snapped. She could barely draw stick figures and she was pretty sure Maribrat knew that, not missing the smirk that the goody-two-shoes was sending her direction. “I would but, oww! My arthritis has been acting up all day and I can barely hold a pencil.” She whimpered pathetically as gingerly gripped her left wrist.

“But that shouldn’t be a problem,” Max spoke up smiling kindly at her. “After all, it’s your left wrist that has arthritis and you’re right handed.”

Shut up, you stupid nerd! She thought, struggling to keep the scowl from her face. “You’re right, but I’m not sure if I’ll have enough time to draw something out before class starts.”

“But, Jagged Stone and Clara Nightingale have commented on your website how you are really good at doing fast concept drawing for your designs. So, it shouldn’t take you too long to come up with something to start with.” Rose commented, her high voice grating on the liar’s nerves.

She was trying to think of another excuse when Chloe began laughing. “You can all stop the act, I think we’ve played it out long enough.”

To Lila’s surprise, the majority of the class nodded before their eager, friendly faces turned to scowls and angry glares as they looked in her direction. Unsure of what else to do, she started faking tears as she looked around the room. “Why are all of you looking at me like that? I haven’t done anything wrong. Did Marinette say something? You know-”

“Cut the crap, Lila! We did our research weeks ago and figured out you’re nothing but a lying bag of nothing.” Chloe cut her off as she stood from her desk and smiled cruelly at the girl. “You really messed up when you started claiming you were the MDC, the rising star of fashion. Everyone in class knows that’s Marinette.”

Unable to help herself, Lila’s head whipped around in shock to glare at the french-asian girl, sitting shocked, but a little smug at her desk. “Is that what Marinette said? She’s lying!”

Alya scoffed this time. “You know, there may have been a point when we might have believed you, but not this time. We were all there when Mari gave those glasses to Jagged Stone and then had her design his album cover. Max and I helped her set up the MDC website. And Rose, Juleka, Mylene, Kim, Max, and I were the ones that modeled the designs posted on her website.”

Lila glared at her. She knew when the jig was up, and there was no point in wasting her energy on her worthless classmates anymore. Still, she couldn’t help but be angry at them. “Well, you all better have the money to pay me back for all the stuff I bought you! Or else I’ll get all of you in trouble with Mme. Bustier and M. Damocles. If you can’t tell, from the time I got Maribrat expelled, I’ve got them both wrapped around my finger.”

“Actually, you can consider all this repaying us.” Max grinned that annoying, calculating grin at her. “Everything you bought was equal to or of similar value to all the lunches we bought you, tickets for events that we covered, or money we donated to your supposed charities, which I’m 96.8% sure was actually your own bank account.”

She growled at that, about to let out a tirade at all of them when Chloe laughed again, gaining her attention again. “Well, all that was to pay back the class, but you’re still not even with Dupain-Cheng or me. I’m sick of seeing your ugly face and hair-don’t in here every day and decided to do something about it. So, I had Daddy get a hold of the Italian Embassy for a meeting the other day. Imagine how surprised and angry they were when the ambassador’s assistant started talking about how incopitant Ladybug and Chat Noir are, since they couldn’t defeat the akuma that had forced her daughter’s school to close for months.”

Lila’s tan skin paled quickly as her head whipped around the room, looking for an escape, but Ivan and Kim were guarding the door.

“The woman was even more surprised after mentioning which school it was and Daddy told her how it was my school. Then I mentioned a girl that had been out of school for the time the assistant had mentioned, and that she claimed to be in the kingdom of Achu via Embassy funds. The Ambassador wasn’t too happy about what he was hearing and cut the meeting short. Although I did hear her mention that she was planning to speak with the principal and her daughter’s teacher. Speaking of, I wonder why Mme. Bustier is so late for class?

Seconds later, the door Ivan and Kim had been guarding burst open, revealing a very angry Damocles, Mme. Bustier, and a woman that had a strong resemblance to Lila. Without a single word, the woman stomped forward, grabbed Lila by the arm, and began dragging her out of the room. Lila tried to pull free as she pleaded for her mother to listen, but the woman didn’t say a single word as the door closed behind them, leaving a very upset Mme. Bustier standing at the front of the room.

The news quickly spread around school before lunch how Lila had done, and was likely to be expelled for truancy, bullying, lying to the staff, and trying to get Marinette expelled. If that hadn’t been bad enough, an akuma had come fluttering into the courtyard just as the two Rossi’s had been leaving. Lila had pushed her mother away in an effort to catch the akuma, only for a yo-yo to smack her hand to catch it, snapping two of the liar’s fingers in the process.

Seeing that, M. Damocles had no choice but to call the police while Ladybug and Chat Noir stood guard over Lila, with Alya recording everything from the moment she’d seen the akuma entering the courtyard. Lila screamed and raged as the police handcuffed her and took her away. Ladybug recommended using a facility outside of Paris, as they had witnessed her willingly going after an akuma.

The class never saw Lila again, although they did hear that she had been deported back to Italy and was dropped in a high security prison’s deepest, darkest hole to be forgotten by the world after being convicted for aiding a terrorist. Granted, none of them had expected that when they had set out to get even with Lila, but after seeing her willingly go after an akuma for revenge, they were glad she was gone.

The class had also profusely apologized to Marinette for not believing her, as well as keeping her in the dark about their plan to expose Lila. Marinette accepted their apology, but admitted that she had been starting to figure it out after Lila kept ordering from her website and her classmates ended up with the ordered items. Then, when she had mentioned her theory to Adrien, he’d shown her the group chat and admitted that the class had planned a way to confront and expose Lila. So, she decided to trust her friends and let their plan play out, using the money Lila had spent to buy more supplies and make matching ‘thank you’ gifts for her friends.

And that’s it! I hope you all enjoyed this bit of class sugar. With all the salt out there, I really needed something sweet and this seemed like a good way to do it!

Oooh I have an interesting prompt if anyone wants to take it! This is inspired from Home Alone movies.

Since Lila likes to take things from Marinette that made her paranoid now in the shows since that incident with that Fake Necklace in her locker.

Maybe a good payback would work for Marinette to set up traps in her house and in her locker in case if Lila tries to sneak into the bakery or at the back of the bakery. Maybe she can also set up traps in classrooms when Lila entered the room but she has to blend in order to see the traps works.

While Nino, Chloe, and Kim seem to know that Marinette gets paranoid and set traps so they warn a few of their classmates (minus Lila & Alya) to be careful around Marinette she tends to set traps if someone tries to steal her stuffs from her house or in her locker.

One perfect show to humiliate Lila but with a hidden video camera that is broadcasting on live television for everyone to see what Lila Rossi really is. But also making her mother pissed off whats going on as her co-workers point things out to her what her daughter has done. This hidden video camera was installed with some help by Max but with the kwamis planting the camera as it angle to where Lila stands in.

If you want to add Alya in it just to spice things cause of her Ladyblog as she became a tabloid. Go for it!

It Started With One

Many thanks to @maribatshipper who gave me the prompt. It sounded amazing and I just had to write it. I really hope I did it justice. I'm also terribly sorry about the very long wait (school was killing me this semester and I had to deal with constant projects, unavailable teammates, and stress).

Back to the prompt. Why stop at just Adrien and Marinette? Why not bring in some love to a few others, too? I’ve been wanting to write a story with a few others like Chloe (who frankly deserves a better character development than canon is giving us) and this is the perfect chance. Clark is the main POV though.

TL; DR: Clark pulls a Batman and ends up adopting a team of Parisian superheroes.

Basic disclaimer: Creative liberties were definitely taken. And this is somewhat of a crack writing.

Clark Kent just wanted a nice and relaxing summer vacation in Paris to bond with his son. He expected things would be rocky with Conner considering their less than stellar beginning, but he was making up for that now. He never expected akumas —and Rao, was that a giant baby? And here he thought Gotham was fucking crazy.

Anyway, he never expected akumas and the teen superheroes running around and saving the day.

They were just kids. Sure the Teen Titans were kids too (it's literally in their name), but they had the Justice League to help them out. These Parisian superheroes had no one from what he could tell.

It was unacceptable.

So no one can blame him if Superman suddenly makes an appearance here and asks what’s going on. Or if he helps Chat Noir and Ladybug and give them advice. Or if he brings Superboy along so he can make more friends (socialization is good for kids, right?)

But by Rao, he can finally understand why there are so many Robins flying around Gotham.

Because there were more teen superheroes here than he thought. And not a single one of them had mentors. So he ends up mentoring them and looking after their well-being.

And

stop.

For the record, Clark Kent was a simple man. He was married to the most amazing woman and was a father of two. He spends most of his days as a news reporter and some as the most invincible man on Earth.

He was taking Conner on a trip to Paris. Lois said that he needed to bond with the kid (especially after their not so great beginning) and a road trip sounded perfect so he let Conner pick the place. He was surprised at his choice but made sure to be supportive of it. Lois will make him sleep on the couch if he didn’t otherwise.

Little did he know, that a certain bird and speedster were conspiring with Superboy to make him ask ridiculous things of Superman as payback for being such an asshole and to see if the man would deliver. So far, he has. And they wanted to see just how far they could take it.

So one plane ride over with, and they were now in an entirely new country.

Clark prepared for a lot of things here. He had some suggestions from Lois on what would be good bonding activities to do. But when he arrived, never would he have expected that he would end up leaving with more kids than he came here with.

He first met Adrien and Marinette (ahem, Chat Noir and Ladybug) during an akuma attack.

He and Conner had spent the morning just sightseeing and seeing what Paris had to offer. After lunch, the kid wanted to Skype his friends so he left him alone at the hotel while he went to go get some pastries and cookies from a nearby bakery that he heard people claim is the best thing ever.

When there were sounds of people screaming and running away. And when he looked up and saw why, he was frozen in incredulous shock and surprise.

The enemy was a man in a ridiculous suit flying on top of a flock of pigeons. Pigeons. And that man was saying how he was going to steal jewelry from kids.

Ok.

What the fuck?

He has been through some weird shit in the past few years —he was a literal alien and his best friend dresses up as a bat at night. Not to mention that Conner was a clone made from the DNA of both himself and Lex Luthor. It doesn’t get any weirder than sharing a child with your enemy.

Yet, somehow this flying pigeon man tops all of that.

He was taken out of his stupor when a kid seemingly fell from the sky and slammed into him. Of course, he immediately caught him but what the actual fuck?

He looked about 16 or so with blonde hair and green eyes. His eyes and nose was a little red but he didn’t seem injured.

“Are you okay?”

“Uh, yeah. I’m, um, fine. Cool as a cucumber I swear.” The kid stammered as he stood up, using the nearby brick wall as support.

Clark didn’t believe him for a second. “Are you sure? You don’t look so well.”

He waved his concerns away. “Uh, it’s nothing.” —an abrupt sneeze— “I’m just allergic to feathers.”

Huh.

Something normal for once. Thank Rao.

But apparently the universe didn’t like normal because in the next second, a petite girl in a red and black spotted spandex suit came careening in the alley with a —yo-yo? How does that even support her weight?

Because sure. Why not?

“Adrien! I saw you fall. Are you alright?”

“Uh, yeah.” The kid darted a glance at him. “I’m fine. Thanks for watching out for me, Ladybug.” He placed extra emphasis on the name.

Do they know each other? Was it a Superman and Lois Lane kind of situation here?

Ladybug was startled to realize he was there. She shot him a wide-eyed look in surprise. “You’re that Daily Planet reporter, right? Clark Kent?”

Well, that isn’t good. A hero needs to be aware of their surroundings at all time. He should give her some tips later on right after asking her just what was up with the Pigeon Man.

Superman meets Chat Noir and Ladybug that night while they were on patrol. He knows that this kind of looks weird (what business does Superman have being in Paris?) but how else was he going to talk to them?

Ladybug got his identity in 2 seconds flat.

“You’re the reporter that we bumped into earlier today.”

Well, shit.

Batman is going to come after him for letting his secret identity slip. Not that the man had any room to talk. Tim Drake, anyone?

Wait. So a grown ass man was parading around in a butterfly suit and these kids (16-17 year olds, still in high school children) were the only thing stopping Mr. Butterfly?

Does Paris have an insane fascination with animals or something?

Can you hear the sheer incredulous of this whole situation? It sounded ridiculous and something out of a kids’ cartoon if he wasn’t seeing this right now for himself.

“Why haven’t you contacted the Justice League?”

Ladybug just gave him a pointed look. “We tried. They said to stop playing a prank and to only contact the JL when there was a real emergency.”

He took a deep breath. Well, good news is that he has some poor fool to send Batman after. And Bruce always enjoys a good terrorizing fest.

True to form, after that enlightening talk about akumas, magical jewelry, and the sheer ridiculousness a grown ass man can get up to, Clark gave them some tips and his personal number if they ever need help again.

He felt guilty that the JL denied these kids help they so desperately needed. They were supposed to be better than that.

His guilt did not in fact correspond in any way to him bringing Conner to the Dupain-Cheng bakery the next day. He just heard good reviews about the place and wanted to get check it out. And Lois loves French pastries so he could get her some as a souvenir.

Adrien and Conner immediately hit it off when they realized they were both gay bois with a (subjectively) amazing fashion sense. Conner was actually giving him fashion tips.

Clark kept quiet at that last part because his son making friends was more important than him corrupting another pure soul into thinking his 90s thing was in right now.

Marinette simply laughed at him but gave him a free cookie on the house. Apparently, she really enjoys reading his wife’s articles which is how she came to know about him, the husband. He was happy to answer any questions she had about superheroes and journalism.

Clark met Nino and Alya next when they had a date at the bakery the next day. They called themselves Carapace and Rena Rouge.

Alya was also a major fan of his wife seeing as she was an inspiring journalist too. He praised her on her blog about Paris’ heroes and even offered a few tips.

It was a good day. He got to eat amazing cookies and brag about how amazing Lois is.

Conner got to induct yet another unlucky fellow into his 90s clothing line. The girls laughed when they saw Nino in black sunglasses and a leather jacket.

But he cringed on the inside because this was his child doing this but he sucked it up because Conner was having a great time. And Lois will literally raise hell if he got in the way of that.

He internally died when Conner started flirting with Nino (How in Rao’s name does Tim put up with him?).

But it was fine because a few moments later, Adrien threw a cake in Conner’s face and said he wasn’t allowed to hit on his best friend.

There was something wrong with him. Why in Rao’s name does he keep helping these kids and giving them advice and being there for them?

He can finally understand how Dick came to be and Barbara and Jason and Tim and Cass and Stephanie and Damian and Duke and —

Conner didn’t share the same opinion and took delight in his suffering.

“It’s not that funny.”

Conner stopped laughing to shoot him an incredulous look. “The fuck it ain’t. Wait ‘til Tim hears about this.”

He was beyond happy that his new friends were child superheroes like he was. Superboy immediately hit it off with Ladybug and flirted with Chat Noir all in the same breath.

Clark should’ve read more parenting books on what to expect during the teenage years. Or maybe it was just a Kon-el thing.

He met Luka, Kagami, and Chloe last. They turned out to be Viperion, Ryuko, and Honeycomb (since Queen Bee was out of the picture).

You’d think at this point, he would be used to the superheroes popping up. But no, he was still surprised to see a child in a colorful costume.

Because why not? It’s not like Paris had a better idea to deal with Mr. Butterfly than just send more children after a grown ass man.

Because why would they when Ladybug and Chat Noir were doing such a good job?

Yeah, he gave them a few fighting tips and made sure he can be reached with his phone.

Batman got to scare a good amount of people for thinking letting kids save the city without any adult help was a good idea.

Gabriel Agreste soon got arrested. But honestly, that was the last thing on Clark’s mind because he had a sad boi with the name of Adrien Agreste to comfort.

Since he was spending a lot of time with the Parisian superheroes, he learned a lot about them.

Luka could probably be a meta with how he knows the music of people’s hearts. Clark would get Bruce to test him if he didn’t know how the bat was with potential test subjects.

Chloe used to be a giant bully but cooled down considerably after the whole Queen Bee fiasco.

Alya and Nino were the first of the group to start dating.

Luka and Kagami were dating.

Marinette and Chloe were also dating.

And Adrien is a sad lonely single gay boi. The single part was very important Adrien says because he was the only one in this friend group without a lover and a cat just wants some love.

“I’m sure you’ll find someone of your own soon.” Clark patted the boy’s arm in a semblance of comfort. “You’re an amazing guy, and anyone would be lucky to have you.”

He was just repeating what some parenting books said. He never had to deal with this problem. His children just fell in love with Robins.

So probably against common sense, the Parisian superheroes (mainly Adrien and Marinette) expressed interest in coming to America for a week long trip. Alya was fangirling over the thought of spending time with her idol. Chloe offered to pay for all of their tickets. He had to put his foot down for that because she was a child (seriously where were the adults who were supposed to be responsible for them?) and it just didn’t feel right so he paid for them.

It was fine. Bruce always put extra money in his bank account when he thinks he wouldn’t notice because he was an awkward and emotionally stunted billionaire who showed care through actions.

Anyway, another plane ride down and it was time to introduce the French kids to Jon and Lois.

And just like he imagined, he regretted everything.

No, he didn’t.

Lois is completely amused at his sudden bundle of kids that appeared in their doorway. She laughed and simply said, “Fatherhood looks good on you, honey.”

Clearly, she wasn’t any help as she ushered everyone in their nice suburban home (he had to tell Bruce multiple times that he was perfectly fine with his three bedroom house and he did not need a freaking mansion) before talking fashion and girl power with the girls.

He loves his wife dearly, but seriously? What happened to being partners in crime? Where were their wedding vows?

Just like with Conner, Adrien immediately hit it off with Jon who was just as stoked to be friends with another teen superhero.

He has housed the Bats a few times for holidays or extended family dinners (their sons were dating; they were totally in-laws), but it has never felt as crowded or rambunctious as it did that night.

There were so many kids here.

What the fuck has his life come to?

So the kids (and since when did he lump the Parisians with his own children? It was probably when it started becoming a mouthful to think of them separately) want to visit the Watchtower as a little family trip. He wanted to say no, because he just knows that is just a train wreck waiting to happen. Yeah, he knows how devious these kids can be. And Bruce’s horde have taught him just what kind of crazy chaotic shenanigans children can come up with.

But apparently, he is not immune to 8 pairs of puppy dog eyes. Conner was too busy laughing at his suffering once again to contribute.

He ended up saying yes.

Guess he can tell Bruce that he has another weakness for his file.

And even though he knew he will probably (most likely) regret this, their clear happiness made him smile and his heart warm.

Yeah. He is definitely going to regret this.

It was an ordinary Saturday with no world crisis or anything like that when he brought all of them to the JL headquarters. The kids were in their superhero uniforms (well, Conner and Jon just wore a t-shirt with the S symbol) and visibly vibrating with excitement.

Understandably, when they arrived, they garnered a lot of attention from the other heroes. Clark ignored them and led his little ducklings in a row to the main conference room where he knew most of the other founders were. The first stop in the first-and-will-never-happen-again Superman’s Watchtower tour.

Barry immediately speeded over when he noticed all the tiny colorful newcomers. “Heya Supes. Who you got with you there?”

Before he could answer, Chat Noir, butted in —that little imp— with a faux innocent smile.

“We’re his kids.”

And the world lost its collective shit.

Well after that delightful intro, it wasn’t long before the shock wore off and his teammates wanted to get to know his kids (They were apparently his now. This was a thing that was happening).

Marinette was absolutely fascinated by the Bats (mostly it was to criticize their uniforms’ designs). Marinette and Conner were chatting with Tim and Dick. Jon and Damian were together. Adrien was talking to Billy. Chloe, Alya, and Kagami were talking to Diana (Wonder Woman was an icon). And Luka and Nino were talking to Barry and Hal.

Clark was not ashamed to admit that he just dumped the kids on the others (he was not getting in the way of whatever trouble they are no doubt concocting; he has some self-preservation skills) and went straight to where Bruce was standing in the back of the room. He can just feel the smug smile radiating from the man. What a bastard.

“Don’t even say a thing.”

“Say what?” Batman stared at him with a raised eyebrow. “I see you changed your stance on child heroes.”

“Now look here. It was not my fault. It just kind of happened.”

“Oh really?" He said sarcastically, tone dry as the desert.

“Yeah. You think I was planning on pulling a Bruce Wayne while on vacation?”

Clark was immune to the infamous Bat-glare thrown his way.

He became a dad five-times-over practically overnight. He was allowed to be dramatic. He doesn't know how to handle kids. Bruce was the most prepared guy he ever knew, and he couldn't even handle kids.

“You got it easy. It’s only 9 kids.”

Oh my Rao.

“Bruce, you’re my best friend, but please don’t make this out to be a competition. I literally cannot handle anymore kids.”

“You know, that’s what I thought at first when I got Dick. It’s always starts with just one.”

Clark can just feel sweat building up, the increasing fear that he would be in charge with even more tiny squishy kids.

Oh dear Rao. What the hell has he gotten himself into? And you know what the absolute worst part is?

He doesn’t regret a single thing.

Why Lila is Marinette’s Own Fault || Miraculous Why?

(Before I begin, note that this is my opinion over the topic and am no way am bashing anyone’s love for the ship and/or character. I respect who and what you like, therefore expect the same courtesy. However, if this is something you cannot handle, please click the back button as this will be a heavily discussed topic. No flames allowed. Other than that, enjoy.)

So usually in the story, there’s always one or two mean girls who is out to get the main character for some kind of superior reasons to justify. And there’s no reason as to why they act this way just for the sake of being mean.

Like the Ashleys from “Recess”, who tend to pick on kids just for the fun of it sometimes or cause they’re popular.

Same can go for Libby from “Sabrina The Teenage Witch” who was out to get something for what she wants or just to be superior to the other kids in school.

For Miraculous, we already have that kind of character, Chloe Bourgeois, who is the daddy’s girl of the Mayor to get what she wants. And until we had some small character development in season two (which season 3 took it away!!), we had no reason feeling sorry for her and she was just for the convenient plot in the social life for Marinette in the series.

And then… there’s Lila.

Before I get into hand in this, let me note that Lila is not a good person at all in the show. She’s a liar, a manipulator and will do whatever she can to get what she wants. She breaks into homes, steals and molests pretty models. She’s been pretty shown to be just selfish without consequences and unless we get a background story of why she acts this way, she has no excuse. Especially when she teams up with hawkdaddy to now have permission to invade and spy on Adrien whenever she wants? Fuck that.

So in Volpina, Lila is introduced as this pathological liar to get attention in season one. She obviously goes for Adrien cause he’s the famous model after all. Reasonable considering as the new person looking for attention, you seek out the most popular/famous person in the school. That would Adrien.

Though considering with her connections, it would’ve been smarter to try and impress Marinette instead if Lila did her research before she came into the scene. But of course, new person so she wouldn’t know, but whatever.

And we can see Lila easily just says things just to get Adrien’s approval and such.

And so, Marinette follows them around (stalking? really?) because Tikki points out Lila has the book Adrien took from his father’s vault and threw it in the trash.

Now the SMART thing to do would’ve been to see how Adrien would handle the situation and wait for him to leave, if to acknowledge Adrien has a mind of his own and knows when to walk away (which he does). Or at the very least, try to distract them as Marinette while Tikki retrieved the book.

But… no. You transform into Ladybug to lash out at a girl PUBLICALLY, for anyone including Adrien to hear, just to embarrass her and call her out on her lying because she… “hates liars”.

Marinette, you fucking lie ALL the time! Most of those times to Adrien! And I’m not just talking about when in regard to being Ladybug, you hypocritical- (groans)

I can list plenty of episodes: Gamer, Aninmaestro, Ikari Gozen and hell, even Reverser counts! If she hadn’t lied about Marc’s book, Nathaniel wouldn’t have torn it! (sighs)

And before you all start jumping at me saying Lila got what she deserves, I only agree partially. Ladybug, as a public figure and heroine, practically the face of Paris, acted irrationally lashing out at a bystander because of lies which were or were not believable. Lila was broadcasting a post or making the news, she was trying (poorly) to impress a boy. Ladybug gave Lila the Regina George treatment.

Yeah, so you caused an akumatized situation and Lila hates your guts. Hell, I would hate you too. That’s like a celebrity jumping at an innocent bystander when they’re whispering to their friend about a rumor that only the two of them were talking about. You can’t jump to try and stop them and should just let it dispel on its own. At that point, Lila had no real power but you just influenced her.

And… oh boy did things get worse because of this.

Look season 3 was trash (except for moments in certain episodes) and I feel talking about the infamous ‘Chameleon’ physically hurts me but… yeah gotta point out a few things. The whole episode was unrealistic, and it was an obvious ploy to be sympathetic to Marinette with Lila back… but… you’re not fooling me.

So, Lila is still on her lying game, being able to fool the students and the staff?! Okay if you believe a student has so many disabilities without any paperwork proof, you can actually get fired for that for fraud. As someone who worked with education before, that’s just pure incompetence.

So yeah, Marinette comes to school seeing the seats changes to accommodate Lila and upright begins to plot to discredit her for her lies. UM… what happened to trying to start over with Lila after failing to do so the first time?

Oh, that’s right. She gets that way (at least partly) because Lila is sitting next to Adrien. I can understand if it was because they rearranged the seating without her say so but let’s face it. Lila sitting next to Adrien was her real trigger.

So since Marinette failed to acknowledge her mistake the first time, she spends all day trying to prove Lila is lying and in return the class is angry at her. Alya even comes to point out that Marinette is jealous of Lila.

And you know what? Alya is right.

Alya knows at least what Marinette is capable of doing so when it comes to Adrien and how far she’s willing to go. Remember that Alya is the one who encouraged her to break into his locker and steal his phone. So of course, she’s worried Marinette is gonna do something to the new girl.

I don’t blame Alya for doing one of the most competent things in the show: Warning Marinette to NOT go off the handle without proof and not make herself look bad in the process.

And because Marinette failed to do so… she made Lila her enemy AGAIN. It was bad enough you had her as your enemy as Ladybug, but now you get to deal with twice the drama!

Your own fucking fault, Marinette.

Also, the advice Adrien gave? I don’t blame for him for it and neither should you. Yes, his advice is not perfect, but with the options he has on his plate, its hard to do something otherwise.

For every encounter Adrien has had with Lila, it ended up with her being akumatized or a disaster no matter how he tried to handle her. We didn’t get to see how he would resolve in Volpina because of Ladybug’s intervention, but he would try at least in Chameleon and try to get her to see she didn’t need to lie and actually tried to befriend her. At this point, Lila was already triggered by Ladybug and Marinette so she just might have to take Adrien by force instead.

At that point, Adrien just wants to stay away and which he was trying to tell Marinette don’t interact with Lila or confront her cause there’s no way to do so at this point. Maybe he was trying to tell her to wait until her rumors got discredited, but he didn’t say it clear enough for her to understand.

And keep in mind, Adrien is a sheltered child with little to zero social skills taught to him by Nathalie and Gabriel. Hell, we don’t know how his childhood was really like even with Emelie around either and Adrien seems more like the pacifist unless he needs to absolutely step in. And he did by cleaning up Marinette’s mess in ‘Ladybug’. So now he’s gotta suffer being around Lila more because of Marinette making Lila her enemy.

But once again, this is bad writing as the writers of the show obviously forgot what it’s like to live in reality. In the real world, Lila would be immediately discredited without any proof the moment she came back. Not to mention, some of the class have their own connections and have more braincells proven in the previous episodes. Google search and such. A 5-year-old wouldn’t believe these lies in these times. Hey, I believe that because I once had a kid in kindergarten during my time as an afterschool art teacher look at one of my books I illustrated before and said they liked the ‘graphics’.

Kids are fucking smarter nowadays than you think.

The only reason anyone would believe Lila’s lies is if she’s magically influenced with some kind of ‘silver tongue’ spell or something and honestly? It looks like that’s the reason.

I dunno if Thomas Astruc or Zag is trying to insult the kids/adults or insult themselves to say Paris people aren’t that smart. If it’s the latter, you should see what you are doing because I don’t want to believe that because that’s disrespectful.

I know it seems I’m trying to stand up for Lila this portion, but I’m just looking things in a more realistic and logical way. Did Lila take things too far? Yes, waaaayyy too far and should be arrested for it since she works for Hawkmoth. But it could’ve been handled better and that makes Marinette at fault too.

Part of me wonders if she’s done this before because in Zombiezou, she also causes Chloe to ruin her gift for Ms. bustier. If Marinette didn’t antagonize Chloe in the locker in front of the class, maybe she wouldn’t have done anything. Again, I’m not saying Chloe was justified, but if that was the reason, yeah I can see her doing it for payback.

So to all those fics where I’m supposed to be ‘Boo-hoo’ for Marinette because of what Lila did? Fuck you guys because you need to dig deeper into the story to see both sides and not just make it a pity party where Marinette is the innocent victim.

It’s called “Cause and Effect”.

And considering she made Lila her enemy, Marinette is gonna get effected enough because that’s how karma works.

We at least know that Luka now appears in a later episode, but this could easily be worded as “Luka can be retconned away from being Marinette’s love interest and everyone will act like he and Marinette aren’t that close or never made soft eyes at each other.”

Except I wouldn’t count on Lukanette being retconned because that would stop the show from being allowed to make Marinette feel bad and guilty and possibly cause another akuma over it, plus possibly Luka “rejecting” his feelings for her and thus making her feel worse that he sees her in a lesser light.

Or she will have an interest in Marinette, since it seems they are going to be close friends, only for Marinette to put her in the friend zone, and she gets akumatized. People will blame Marinette for giving false hopes to the girl, even though, she never acted different than how a friend would act.

All girls exist to comment/have an opinion on the love square, obviously, and they’re antagonists/villains if they have a negative opinion on it.

Marinette woke up to her alarm. Her sleep schedule was returning somewhat normal and she wasn’t running on pure caffeine.

Good morning, Marinette!

Another good morning, Tikki.

I’m glad you are getting some rest if not complete.

Marinette chuckled awkwardly remember how not too long ago she had fallen in the horrible schedule and was running on fumes. Just thinking about how her life balanced with the addition of just one person in her life, made her sigh in delight.

Marinette! Kaylan is here!

Feeling warm inside, she had a really good feeling about today. Like something good and big was going to happen.

Pup we did that without ladybug’s consent. You know that right.

The wolf Kwami was nervous. She and her chosen did something behind ladybug’s back and she wasn’t able to shake the feeling that something might turn out wrong. Her pup was bolder that she thought.

We’ll discuss it today. Don’t worry.

Her answer was short and to the point like always. Nova sighed before nibbling on the jerky while sinking in her pocket. Marinette skipped out and greeted her like always and offered her chocolate chip cookies she loved while giggling her squirrel like stuffed face.

Just as they were near the class, a high pitched scream made them stop. Marinette looked a little scared but Kaylan looked away while hiding a smile with another cookie.

The first thing they noticed was glitter. Lots of glitter. And some of it was still settling down. The second think was glittered covered face and familiar sausage hair. And the third thing was a white box right in front of her.

Both girls couldn’t help but choke before laughing trying to cover it but their trembling shoulders were so obvious. Alya looked at Italian with wide eyes before glaring at the two ostracized girls of the class.

That’s it! You two are going too far! I’ll report it to principle!

Jeez. What else do you know anyway except for complaining?

Kaylan smirked while looking at the Italian liar.

Liking the new looks Lila.

This time there were actual tears in her eyes.

I’ll tell the principle!

On what proof? Have you seen Kaylan putting the box on Lila’s table? It’s not possible that she did it before you all came since she picked me up from bakery before we came here.

Marinette pointed out making Kaylan snicker. She had a slighted doubt over the statement how it was not Kaylan and a strong urge to believe that it was definitely her doing.

Like hell she will say that. Payback’s a bitch.

Now, now, Marinette. Kaylan smoothly interjected. You know how they are, they just simply love to point us out over every problem they face. Like we have the time of life to just create problems in their lives.

Another sinker passed her lips before they made way towards their seats. Marinette watched as Lila ran out of the class, probably to get rid of the glitter.

Told ya! Kaylan whispered so only Marinette heard her. I know how to retaliate. Beside it’s a cheap glitter…………. The one that sticks longer than normal.

Marinette hid her face as she giggled, to see misfortune falling on Lila was simply too good.

Just as bell rang, signaling the end of the boring lecture, everyone ran out to get lunch. Taking the hand of the designer, Kaylan ran out of the school to get to the bakery, looking more excited than the girl herself.

Slow down, Kaylan!

No way! Luka and Kagami needs to hear this!

A loud laugh slip past her lips. Only she know how much she was holding back in front of the class.

Soon enough they saw their friends in front of the bakery and waved. Just like she thought, Kagami had a big smirk on her face enjoying the story while Luka smiled at their collective happiness.

The lunch ended and they waved at each other promising to get together at patrol. Just as the pair sat in their seats someone stopped in front of them. Kaylan looked at the blonde girl who fidget nervously not seeing how shocked Marinette looked. Giving out a poor excuse, she left them. It was luck that there was no one else in the class yet.

Chloe looked up in determination and put an envelope in front of her. Marinette raised an eyebrow but before she could say anything, Chloe stopped her.

Look, Du- I mean Marinette. I don’t have enough courage to repeat myself but I wanted to say it to you first and foremost. I’m sorry.

Chloe bowed her head a little making Marinette jump.

I was rude to you, I bullied you and I destroyed so many things. I’m sorry. You probably won’t forgive me and you shouldn’t, like ……….. I was so horrible to you. You have always so nice to me…..

A few tears spilled out of her eyes making Marinette stand in shock but Chloe didn’t raised her head.

I kept thinking after miracle queen I started thinking often and when ladybug took my miraculous away I realized how much of a brat I was. Then Lila came and I lost Sabrina. I knew we both had been the friends with benefits but still it hurts when I was all alone.

Wiping her tears she looked up, seeing Marinette in tears, she grits her teeth. She didn’t deserve it. She didn’t deserve her tears for her.

When you helped me connect my mother I was so happy. Now that I’m seeing the therapist and they ask me to recount my memories, I just realized you never gave up on me, with all the banter and my tantrum you still didn’t give up on me. So I decided that I would prove to everyone that I will be someone better. So when the future me looks back, I would be proud of me even if I don’t have much to offer.

A loud explosion sounded but before they can move, Kaylan stumbled in the classroom, looking at the crying pair she sighed. She gave a thumbs up with a deadpan.

Please drown in your sorrows, I made sure you had more than enough time.

With that she strutted out closing the door. The pair looked at the door before at each other and a choked giggle left their lips. The tension that was heavy on their shoulder, was gone.

Wiping her tears, Chloe looked at the envelope.

I……. want to pay you for all the things that I had destroyed. Including your time and effort. It won’t be much but still…….

Taking a shaky breath, she looked at Marinette one more time.

I want ladybug to be proud of me. And I want to be proud of myself as well. I was jealous when all you had was your own achievement and all I had was earned by throwing tantrum. So from now on, I will have everything through my efforts.

She looked like she wanted to say anything but all she did was wipe her tears and turn to leave.

You know……… Marinette smiled widely making her turn back. …..I always thought you were a pure softy under all that threatening attitude…….and I know ladybug would be proud of you.

Looking at the designer she felt another wave of tears coming.

And I forgive you Chloe. At the very least you realized your mistake and apologized. Some people didn’t even do that.

You’re ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

Chloe said before hugging the bluenette. She cried soaking her shoulder.

To think her therapist was right about her.

“All you have to do is apologize sincerely. With what you think is right. Considering what you told me about this girl, I say she is very much likely to forgive you. Beside, I’m sure there is no way she didn’t noticed your behaviors. Even if it is unconsciously, she would have noticed how you already changed.”

A familiar figure sat in front of her. A soft smile looked like she descended from heaven. The name board with a bold name, “Dr. Fox”.

Looking at the homely interior of the office, she pondered before sighing.

“I’ll see about that.”

Smiling, the doctor let her think in quite, before her eyes flashed.
