To all the people who have been supporting GEM,

It was announced that GEM will dissolve in March of this year. To announce something like this so suddenly, knowing it would make you all sad, I’m so incredibly sorry. I am so sorry. Since winter started, various events unfolded and caused a lot of confusion for everyone. I feel really sorry about that too. For me, GEM is my entire youth. I became a member of GEM in my first year of high school. In my second year, I moved to Tokyo. Now I’m a 3rd year student in college. When I hear the word “dissolution” and think back on what I’ve done so far, it’s been so much with GEM.

Days that were so fun I couldn’t stop laughing. Days when I felt so grateful to have these experiences. Days I was so happy I just wanted to jump with joy. Days I felt that I wasn’t good enough. Days when bad things just kept happening and I cried out of frustration. Days when I felt crushed by worries. Writing it out like this made me think about all of the really difficult times from the past 5 years. I’m desperately holding back tears just writing this sentence... ah.... Writing it out really moved me, I realized that my dream has never been just my dream only. When there were happy things, we were happy together. When there were painful things, we felt the pain together. Because everyone was so encouraging, we came this far. This I know for sure.

There are so many people in this world. I think the fact that we were able to meet is a miracle. Of course, I’m not only talking about the members who are from different places and of different ages, I’m also talking about the GEMILY, the staff, other idols, the media. The real treasure of my life is all of the people I’ve met as a member of GEM. I’m grateful we were able to meet. I think each member of the GEMILY is experiencing different feelings right now. But there is one last thing I want to say:

I’m also upset. So upset I can hardly bear it. Because I have a dream, and I’m still in the middle of that dream. I understand that life is full of unpredictable events. Even though I know this, I still feel so frustrated. But there is also the part of me that thinks nothing is meaningless. Regrets that will not disappear become power.

I’ve very grateful for everything I was able to experience in these past 5 years. I’ve never told you this before, but when I was announced as a starting member of GEM, there was time when I didn’t think I could do it. I couldn’t sing or dance well. Now, 5 years later, after doing so many performances with the members, and being supported by the GEMILY, I really love doing both. When I was in elementary school, I thought “I will never do a job with singing and dancing!” I wonder what my elementary school self would think if she saw me now? She would probably be surprised, right?

I really don’t know what will happen next. I think I’m an idol who wants to always make people smile. That’s why making you all so sad makes me feel so miserable. I’m sorry we couldn’t fulfill our Budokan dream. We really wanted to do one last live, and all of the members begged to hold one. The venue has since been prepared. I’m thankful to the staff. 3.25. YAMANO HALL. Even though it’s sad to say that it’s the last... it really is the last. I’ll be happy if you come and see us. Please let me show you all of my gratitude.

Nana, Kako, and I went to Nakano Sun Plaza to watch a LinQ live show. Over the course of 3 hours, the members really conveyed their feelings to the audience. It was great! Really amazing! For the encore they performed “For You” and the three of us danced. I love that song! LinQ, thanks for showing us a fun time ☺︎
