➪ CASUAL DRESS CODE: refers to clothing that is informal and comfortable, yet clean and professional. It’s best to go with nicer casual wear and avoid the baggier items you wear around the house.

Shorts (depending on occasion and climate)

Plain T-shirt (no slogans), polo shirt, turtleneck

Casual button-down blouse

➪ DRESSY CASUAL: A dressy casual dress code is a versatile balance between formal and casual. This is the ideal choice for networking (or socializing) after work, fundraisers, or dinner at a nice restaurant.

i like the balance i've struck of having distinct personal style while still coming off as "professional". and some of that is facilitated by the leeway granted by a nonprofit environment, as opposed to, say, finance. and some of that has been hardwired by a father who would comment on wrinkles in your clothes the second he saw you.

staff got a email from our boss today about dress code & apparently someone inquired about the county's dress code policy and i'm so scared because i wonder if it was about me...

some of the TOS uniforms do seem like they're made out of particularly uncomfortable fabrics but they still instill in me a sense of jealousy bc they are at their core simple tshirts that count as 'work appropriate'
