Captain Magnum x GN mer-reader
They were playing Disney music at work today so have a Little Mermaid esk Captain Magnum x reader thing
“I’m gonna beat you guys!” Meryler said as you, Mark, and the Gongoozler swam towards a sunken ship
“Say’s you,” Mark said, gaining on his friend
You and Gongoozler were more than content to go at a leisurely pace. That was until Mark and Meryler were about to reach the ship and Gongoozler shot out between the two, making it to the ship before either.
“And the winner is me!” Gongoozler cheered raising his fists in victory
“Boo” both Mark and Meryler jeered as you joined the group
“Come on guys” You said “I obviously won here”
“Sure,” Mark said, breaking open a hole in the side of the ship so you all could swim through it “let’s go”
“Why’re we doin’ this again?” Meryler asked as you all began looking around “this is just a bunch of human junk”
“All I’m seeing is a bunch of free stuff,” You said, opening up a chest finding nothing
“What the hell’re we supposed to do with this?” Mark asked holding up an old tobacco pipe
“I dunno” You shrugged, moving over to literally rip open some rotting desk drawers “what about this?” you pulled out a letter opener
“Ok,” Meryler said “that’s pretty cool”
“Right!”
“What about this?” Gongoozler asked, holding up a pummel horse
“No,” the three of you said at the same time
“Too bad,” Gongoozler said, holding it closer to him “I’m keeping it”
“You guys think Amy will like this?” Mark asked holding up a porcelain statue that had its arm broken off
“Yeah,” Meryler said as the sound of music reached you and your friends “what’s that?”
Looking up all four of you saw a large ship floating by above you through a large hole in the ceiling.
“How much you wanna bet the boat sinks?” Gongoozler asked looking at his friends “y/n?”
The three of them looked around for you but, you were gone; already swimming up to the boat.
“Y/n!” Mark called out
Swimming up to the surface you looked up at the ship in amazement, watching as the people on board celebrated, what you weren’t sure, but you wanted to know. Swimming up to the side of the ship you climbed up the side until you were at the top, peeking in at the camaraderie of the crewmates. Then you saw him, towering above them all was, who you presumed to be, the captain.
“Twas quite the haul today, Cap’in,” one of the crewmates said, raising a mug in the air
“It was,” Magnum said
“Y/N?” Mark yelled, using the clicks and squeaks that made up the mermaid language so that if the pirates did hear them they would think it was just a pod of dolphins
“What?” You asked not looking away from Magnum
“What do you see?” Mark asked
“A bunch of pirates,” You said, looking down at them, “one of them’s really handsome”
“Are you talking about that really tall and hairy guy?” Meryler asked
“Yes”
“That’s a tall man right there,” Gongoozler said, astounded that he could clearly see the captain from where he was in the water
“Yeah,” You said as the wind started picking up
“We should probably head back now,” Meryler said, taking note of how the sky was starting to darken with the threat of a storm and it was no fun to swim in a storming sea
“You guys go on I’ll catch up with you”
“Alright” Mark sighed, he and Meryler diving into the water
“Be careful” Meryler said
“No one will find you if you’re too deep into the sea,” Gongoozler said, inhuman, before diving under the water as well
Rolling your eyes you waved your friends off before turning back to watch the captain when you noticed that he was now looking in your direction. You froze unsure if he saw you or not. The two of you looked at each other for a bit before Magnum started walking over to where you were hiding.
“Looks like storms pickin’ up cap’in,” the first mate said getting Magnum's attention away from you
“It appears so,” Magnum said looking up at the sky “set sail for the nearest island. We’ll settle in there till it blows over”
As Magnum was talking to his first mate, you took the opportunity to jump into the ocean, swimming as fast as you could hoping that you’d be able to catch up to your friends.
A couple of weeks had passed since you’d last seen Magnum and his crew; despite having only seen him for a few minutes you found yourself thinking about him more than once, wondering if you’d ever see him again and if he was safe at sea. Occasionally, Mark and Meryler would tease you about falling for a human, but it was all in good fun especially since a lot of your fellow mer-folk seemed to be throwing themselves at you in an attempt to win your affections. Despite the teasing they seemed to be supportive of you, especially Gongoozler, who came swimming up to you in a tizzy one day, demanding that you follow him. He gave you absolutely no explanation for what he was doing as he lead you back towards the sunken ship you’d been exploring when you first saw the captain, taking you past it to an island. From where you were in the water you could see that a familiar ship was anchored near it.
“How long have they been here for?” You asked
“They docked today,” Gongoozler said as the two of you swam up to a gathering of rocks so you could watch them
Apparently, this was the island they’d found shelter from the storm on and Magnum had decided to take claim of it as a home base for him and his crewmates. The rocks you and Gongoozler had chosen to hide in were the perfect distance away to be able to hear what the pirates were saying while still being far enough away that you would be able to remain hidden if they were to look out to the sea, or so you thought. Magnum had spotted you.
He’d been on the lookout for you the moment he brought his crew back to the island wondering if what he’d seen that night was real or if he’d just been seeing things. He knew better than to let the crew know and cause a panic, or make it obvious to you that he knew you were there, but he couldn’t stop himself from marveling at your beautiful and/or handsome face. Despite knowing that he and his crew were being watched Magnum decided to give his crew a bit of a break and stay on the island for a few days, giving you ample opportunity to work out your crush by watching the captain but it didn’t work; your affections only grew.
After they left you’d stop by the island a few times every month to see if they’d come back, but they didn’t for at least five months. One day as you and Mark were out for a swim together a storm started forming so the two of you decided to wait it out on your rocks by the island. While the two of you waited it out Mark spotted Magnum's ship a few miles out from the rocks, barely managing to stay afloat in the raging waters as they tried to get to their island.
“Hey, Y/N,” Mark said over the wind “isn’t that the ship?”
“Huh?” You asked, climbing up the rocks so you could see over them “yeah, that’s him”
“Looks like they’re having some troubles,” Mark said as a bolt of lightning struck the sails of the ship causing them to catch fire
The two of you watched in horror, at least on your end, as the fire spread and the crew jumped into the waves, many of them getting pulled under, while Magnum cut the ropes that held the rowboats so that anyone who wasn’t pulled under had a chance. Once all of the boats were in the water Magnum was about to join the rest of his crew when the banister that held the sails cracked and bashed him in the back of the head sending his unconscious body into the water. Gasping you swam as fast as you could through the debris and bodies to the quickly sinking pirate captain. Grabbing hold of his arm you took him back to the surface, planning on taking him to his island when you realized that you wouldn’t be able to keep him above the water on your own.
“Mark” You screamed over the wind, flapping your tail as hard as you could “Mark. I need some help here!”
“Coming” Mark screamed back diving into the water so he could swim to you
Grabbing hold of Magnum’s other arm he helped you swim him to the island, the both of you exhausted by the time you reached the beach. Thankfully, the storm was starting to die down so you weren’t being pelted by rain and wind as you rested, the sun also started to shine on Magnum’s face, causing him to slowly start waking up. He’d heard many tales of mermaids so he kept still, just barely cracking his eyes open so he could see what was happening around him.
“I think he’s dead?” Mark asked, in human, before you slapped him on the shoulder “ow!”
“He’s not dead” You hissed
“Fine” Mark said turning to go back in the water “I’m gonna go back now”
“Thank you,” You said, brushing the wet hair out of his face, before caressing his cheek “please don’t be dead” you rested your ear against Magnum’s chest, listening for his heartbeat “is that it?”
Straightening up you were planning on petting his hair again when you noticed the captain was awake and looking at you. The two of you sat there looking at each other, neither moving until a wave hit your tail were you brought back to reality; realizing that you needed to leave immediately but Magnum grabbed your wrist before you could get too far.
“Why would ye save me?” Magnum asked, eyeing you suspiciously as all of the tales he’d heard of mermaids were about them leading sailors to their deaths
“I,” You said a light blush covering your cheeks
“You’re the one that’s been watching me and me men aren’t ye?”
“Yeah,” You said a bit sheepishly
“You know,” Magnum said, letting go of your wrist “ye be a lot more beautiful and/or handsome up close”
“Oh” You squeaked, heart, fluttering in your chest
“Captain” one of the crew that had managed to make it to the island called out walking along the beach “anyone”
“I have to go,” You said crawling to the water as quickly as you could, hoping that the crew member didn’t see you
“Captain,” The crew member said running up to Magnum “was there just someone here with you?”
“No,” Magnum said, looking out to the sea “there wasn’t”
“Are ye sure? I could’ve sworn...”
“No one was here” Magnum almost yelled, spotting you peaking out from behind your rocks “no one at all”
“Well, the few others that survived are all gathered on the beach a few meters in that direction”
“Right,” Magnum said getting to his feet “you keep searching for any more survivors and I’ll go meet up with the others”
“Yes, captain”
Doing as he was told the pirate went to search for other survivors while Magnum waved you off before going to find the rest of his crew. Unfortunately for them, there weren’t that many rations left on the island and there was no way they would be able to get anywhere on the rowboat. So you brought them fish and kelp to help them survive while they waited for another ship to find the island. It didn’t take long since you decided to help as well, leading a ship to the island with your siren song, with the help of Gongoozler and his song; drawing the crew onto the land by yourself. Once the civilian crew was on land Magnum helped you hide before his own crew showed up to overthrow and take the ship for their own. It didn’t take long before the pirates were packing up and loading what little they were able to salvage from their ship onto the new one. Magnum was the only one on the island that remained, telling his crew that he was doing a final sweep of the island to make sure everything was in order, but really he was waiting for you.
“Y/N?” Magnum asked, walking into the water deep enough that you would still be partially submerged
“Hey, Magnum,” You said popping out of the water
“I wanted to thank ye for all your help,” Magnum said, kneeling down so he was closer to you
“You’re welcome,” You said
There was a long moment where the two of you were just looking at each other.
“I think your friends are watching us,” Magnum said
You turned around and saw Mark, Gongoozler, and Meryler looking at you, though not for long because when they noticed that you saw them they were diving under the water.
“I should probably go now,” You said “I’ll see you around”
“Aye,” Magnum said watching you vanish into the water “I’ll be waiting”

Thunderstorms
Tumblr media
Captain Magnum x gn!reader
ask: Don't really know how this works I haven't been on here long enough but uh- if your still taking requests for Markipliers egos and stuff could you do a Captain Magnum x reader who has a huge phobia of thunderstorms and Magnum notices while there's a thunderstorm going on and comforts them :')?
A/N: I wrote this during a thunderstorm so I could keep track of my movements when I got scared. That is my official excuse for how long this took. I missed Magnum so much. Nothing but respect for my Captain. I’ve been into pirates recently because of Our Flag Means Death streaming season 1 now on HBO Max. Also, my writing teacher has assigned us to write everyday but she never said what so expect extremely short bullshit posted more often. Maybe on Ao3. I don’t use tumblr anymore lmao.
Word Count: 1.5k
Warnings: Uh. Destiny 2 reference. Battleblock Theatre reference. Mention of. genitalia. yep. Fear of thunder.
--
In hindsight, you probably should have mentioned the extreme fear of thunder before you joined a pirate crew. On the sea. Where storms… happen. And they happen frequently. And strongly. And loudly.
You had no idea how they could do that. Stand out there. With the wind whipping the sails and waves throwing the boat the rain stinging their skin and the lightning striking anything it found and the fucking noise. The boom of the thunder. The explosions deep in the sky, a threat from the gods telling you mortals that you could die at any moment. It was fucking angry. Like Poseidon invited you to Olympus for dinner and you slapped him in the face.
Not that the crew cared. The crew was fucking joyous. The crew… the crew was fucking dancing, goddammit. You couldn’t tell them now. You couldn’t. It’d be the death of any respect they might’ve had for you. You were pretty sure you heard Magnum's booming voice yelling "COME ON! GIMME ALL YE GOT! YE DON'T HAVE THA BALLS".
You couldn't tell them now. You couldn’t.
The door swung open, cracking the wall, and making you flinch. Magnum waltzed in with a laugh that reminded you of Lord Shaxx to a degree.
"Hoo, the waters be wild tonight, eh, mate?" He stomped into the room, hands on his hips. He looked around, but you weren't sitting in the room. His smile fell. "Mate? Where are ya?"
"In here." You called from the wall. A hole in the wall, moreso. A hide hole. Behind the mirror. It came with the ship, or so you were told.
He bounded over and opened the mirror, leaning his head to the side to see. You were sitting on the floor, knees to your chest. He frowned.
"What're ye doin', child?" He asked. You shrugged in response. "Couldja get outta there?"
You shook your head.
"Why not?"
You shrugged.
"Alright then." He closed the mirror and you thought that was the last of it. At least until you heard the distinct sound of wood cracking and breaking and splintering, making you hit the deck for fear that the storm had just gotten that strong.
You looked up once it stopped to see Magnum holding the mirror. The one attached to the wall. That was no longer attached to the wall. It was basically a door, honestly.
"... hi." He said. You blinked at him.
"Hi, Cap." You sighed.
He looked around your cabin a moment before deciding to just set the mirror against the nearest wall. He then shuffled into the hide hole, needing to duck down quite a bit, and plopped down next to you with his legs resting high up on the wall.
"... what's tha matter?" He asked, softer than you were used to from him.
"There's no matter. Nothing's the matter. I'm fine." You rambled, avoiding his gaze. Your eyes flicked back to him, where he sat squinting at you, scrutinizing.
"Don't lie to me. I can see it in your eyes." He waved a finger at you. You looked back at him and tilted your head.
"Really?" You raised your eyebrows.
"No, but ya just admitted ya lied, so mission accomplished." He laughed. You scoffed.
"Oh, you're an asshole." You shook your head, but had a smile on your face.
"Oi! I may be an ass, but I am no asshole, y'understand?" He teased.
"10-4, good buddy." You nodded and stared at the wall in front of you.
"... what's tha matter?" He asked again.
"That mirror was stronger than I thought it'd be." You brought the conversation in a completely different direction. Magnum looked back at the new hole in the wall. He then looked at you, suspicious.
"Fuckin' strong for some glass and wood." He agreed nonetheless.
"I thought it'd shatter, but she's still intact. Fuckin… fuckin strong-ass storm, but she's intact… she's alright… for now…"
Alright, maybe not completely different a direction.
"... what's tha matter?" He repeated for the third and final time.
"Nothing. I'm fine." You shook your head.
"You said." He quirked an eyebrow.
"Then why're you asking?"
"Cause I don't believe you."
"... right. Ok." You took a deep, calming breath, reminding yourself that your captain wasn't shallow. Well, actually, he was shallow. Extremely so. But he liked you. He was your friend. Maybe a little more, though you weren't sure whether it was further in the platonic direction or veered into romantic. You exhaled and turned to your captain. "Magnum."
"Hm?" He hummed his acknowledgement, giving you the softest eyes you've ever seen from him.
"You like me, right?" You started. He squinted at you once more.
"... mm-hm?" He hummed, already not knowing where this conversation was headed.
"And you respect me?" You continued.
"Yeah…?" He snickered, bringing his hands up and dropping them back on his thighs.
"And that won't change right?" You begged.
"Not unless ya give me reason to. Where're ya goin' with this, mate?" He crossed his arms and shifted so that he was facing you a little more. His eyebrows were furrowed and he looked confused and worried. You didn't like it.
"... Magnum, I have… a confession." You turned to face him fully. He looked you up and down, trying to investigate your body language.
"... go on." He raised an eyebrow again.
"I'm afraid of thunder." You blurted out. For a moment, neither of you said anything. That continued for about 3 more moments.
"... and?" He said, eventually.
"What?" You asked.
"Is that it?" He started to laugh.
"Wh-yeah." He sighed and clapped a strong hand on your shoulder, making you wince.
"Mate, we all have fears."
"Yeah, but mine's… dumb…" You mumbled. You tucked your knees into your chest and turned away from him.
"... I'm afraid of something." He murmured after a few seconds. You snapped your head up to look at him.
"What is it?"
"... rats." He sighed. You barked out a laugh. He gaped at you, incredulous. "Oi!"
"I'm sorry I just… remembered elephants and… yeah. It-yeah. You're just so big, it seems so silly." You rambled, still giggling.
"I'm trying to comfort you on your fear, and you're over there laughing at mine!" He scolded.
"I'm not, I get it! You're just… why would they be ascolded. To you, specifically?"
"Are ya serious! Y'ever heard of the plague?"
"Vaguely aware of it."
"Nasty, nasty business."
"You afraid of mice?"
"Nah, mice're cute."
"Well, that's presumptuous. Mice can spread disease."
"So yer afraid of thunder." He cut off the debate once he knew you'd made a reasonable point. You rolled your eyes.
"Yeah. The only good thing about a storm is the rain. And rainbows."
"It's just water. And light."
"It's pretty. But I'm hiding here. From the storm."
"Mm. A'right. I'll wait too then." He stated. You frowned.
"Oh, you don't have to. Go enjoy the storm. Don't mind me." You waved your hand towards the door. He matched your frown.
"Well, no. I can't leave ya alone. What kinda cap'n doessat make me?" He scoffed.
"You like the storm." You pointed out.
"There'll be other storms." He countered.
"You can't be with me for all of them."
"I can be with ya for this one." You tried to stare him down. He stared back. You soon got very, very uncomfortable and looked away with a tsk.
"... fine." You acquiesced. He smiled apparently pleased with himself.
You both sat there as the storm raged on. You flinched and covered your ears at any particularly loud BOOM, and Magnum flinched at your flinching. Whenever he thought you were being a little dramatic, he thought back to when a rat had gotten onto the ship and he screamed like a 5 year old girl he accidentally frightened once. That shut the thought down as quick as it popped up. He squeezed your shoulder when you whimpered and rubbed your back when you curled in on yourself.
Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore. He looked at your shaking figure and it made him feel so… what, sad? He hadn't felt sad since '04. So he made a decision.
He grabbed you by your upper arms and dragged you towards him, putting you in his lap. Your back was against his chest and he wrapped his arms around your middle.
"Mags?" Your voice cracked when you tried to ask what was happening.
"Try to go to sleep." He instructed. Another loud boom made you flinch hard.
"I can't…" you whispered. He sighed and rested his chin on your head.
"... dream of quiet places. Light wind and sprinkles of rain on a sunny day. Maybe a rainbow, if you'd want. Birds and worms and koi fish. All the dumb shit ya like. I'll bring ya to land soon and you can enjoy the quiet. Just… deal with it for now." He squeezed your middle. You closed your eyes and took a few deep breaths, the vibrations from his chest soothing you a bit.
He moved his hands to gently cup your ears. The sound it made calmed you a little. He slowly opened them again and flattened his palms to try and protect your ears from any further noise.
"Night, Mags…" You muttered.
"Night, mate." He rumbled back, not knowing if you could hear him or not.
It stormed through the night, and he made sure to wake you up to see the rainbow that appeared on the horizon. You stared at the rainbow, unaware that he had chosen to stare at you instead.

Big Papi Magnum Hours!! Gimme some headcanons! UwU
Captain Magnum headcanons comin’ right up!!
- Captain Magnum is old. He is even old enough to be your father’s, er, “legal guardian”.
- His forehead is covered in bruises from bumping into things because of how tall he is.
- Isn’t ashamed to let his eyes keep studying you from behind the wheel and you are busy addressing the once dancing hempen. He studies the small features of yours or even habits you have that no one seems to pick up on, except him.
- Unabashedly calls you ‘poppet’ instead of your actual name. “It’s, er, so ye know yer place amongst these flea ridden drunken seadogs.”
- Loves to bark out orders at you, even if they are mundane things so that he may see you get upset that you can’t do anything or talk back.
- Absolutely adores hearing his name on your lips. And because you are his first mate, he gets to hear it 24/7.
- His sense of humor is very lowbrow, so much that sometimes you mistake it as an absolutely vile type of flirting in which he has communicated multiple times that you’ll definintely know when he’s flirting with ya. That doesn’t help the nevers at all.
- Praises you for doing even the most mundane tasks in front of the whole crew. “To keep ye humble ‘n all” a he had put it.
- He sometimes just rests his hand on your shoulder, and keeping it there, forgetting sometimes that it is even there at all so that he finds himself absentmindedly drumming his fingers against you while in deep contemplation.
- Only once after you have been invited into his private quarters do you get to see a whole different side of him.
- This is the only time and place you will ever hear him use your actual name as well, inside his private quarters with nothing but the rich orange of the candlelight and the sound of scratching on parchment as well as the rocking waves are the things accompanying the two of you.
- He is a lot more reserved and stoic, peaceful almost as he is tending to his written work behind his desk.
- Captain Magnum is quite philosophical during these down times as well.
- “Y/N, do you sometimes wonder why yer here, in the middle of the ocean, tryin’ to make a name of yer own? What’s the true meanin’ behind it all do ye think?” It seems like he’s genuinely asking for your advice!
- Somtimes gets drunk off his butt and, he’s the crying type. He is just so sappy and keeps on asking you in between drinking his rum questions of validation.
- “I’m an excelle- *hiccup* nt cap’n, right y/n? ‘Course I am! Why wouldn’t I be?”“……Right….?””Oh, what’s that Blackbearded f…. fella got on me, eh? I’m the tallest ‘n mos’ feared cap’n out there!””A-and you love me, don’t ya, poppet? I love ya, want ye to know that f’course.”
- Is quite the affectionate man as well too, drunk or not. He loves having you close and somehow making physical contact with him at all times. Reminds him that you stayed there and truly care for him.
(Ask if you want the nsfw headcanons.)

In All My Dreams I Drown
*This has been sitting inside my Doc’s for awhile so... Here you go! This is a Captain Magnum x Reader
*A little angst but a fluffy ending!
Tumblr media
The ship swayed on a dark blue night. The lanterns casted shadows around the ship as the crew got ready to end the day. (Y/N) leaned against the railing as she peered up to the sky, the stars were shining bright tonight.
(Y/N) heard loud steps as she continued to look at the sky.
“They’re beautiful tonight.”
“Aye.”
(Y/N) sighed as she looked to Magnum, staring at her with a bit of concern.
“Is there something I can help you with Captain?”
“Ye 'aven’t slept in many days, (Y/N).”
She looked back to the sky as she shook her head.
“I’ll sleep when we reach shore,” she chuckled, “and pray we get there soon.”
“(Y/N), the crew be worried about yer 'ealth. If you’re not in jolly shape, what jolly o' pirate be ye?”
“Still a good one Captain.” (Y/N) snapped back. She ducked her head and mumbled an apology.
Magnum was about to say something when one of the crew came up to tell him everything was fine and the crew were heading to bed. (Y/N) turned to head down before being held back by Magnum.
“(Y/N)-”
“I’ll be fine Captain. I’ll sleep tonight, don’t worry about me.”
Magnum’s hold let up as (Y/N) continued down the stairs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sky flashed as the curtains ran between my legs as I ran out of the Captain’s room. Running down to find the crew, I stood in horror as the bodies of the crew floated around.
‘We’re sinking! Everyone is dead! We’re sinking! I have to get out of here!’
I ran up to the deck as the ship was thrashed to and fro. The waves were to big, the lighting was to bright, the thunder was to loud.
‘I have to find Magnum! Where’s the Captain? Where is he? Why am I alone? Help! Someone HELP!’
‘(Y/N)!’
“Captain? Where is he?
‘(Y/N)!’
‘I can’t see anything. Please someone help me! Captain, help me please.’
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“(Y/N)!”
Magnum pulled (Y/N) back from the edge of the boat. (Y/N) fell into him as he held her to him.
“What, what happened?”
“I was about to ask ye that there lass? Why was ye about to jump off the side o' the ship?”
“I,” (Y/N) looked up at Magnum with tears in her eyes, “I was having a dream.”
“If you’re about to jump off a boat an' don’t remember what 'appened, that’s a nightmare.”
(Y/N) started to sob as Magnum held her. He tried to comfort her by humming a sea shanty. It calmed her down a bit.
“Come on (Y/N). You’ll sleep with me tonight.”
“Captain, can we just sit and talk for awhile?”
“Aye, we can.”
The captain’s cabin was nice. (Y/N) has been there a few times but it was still a sight to behold.
Magnum’s cabin was lit by lanterns hung from the ceiling and wall, a few candles on his desk. There were a few paintings from his adventures hanging on the wall. Chests and other things the crew stole lying around.
“Here lass,” Magnum moved a few maps off of his bed to make room. “Ye can sit 'ere if ye want.”
They nodded as she slowly sat down. Magnum walked to his desk and set the items down before turning to her.
“Do ye, do ye want to talk about it?”
“I,” she looked away.
“I’ve been having the same nightmare for a while now. I always wake up in your cabin and run out trying to find the crew. But when I go down stairs everyone is dead. All of them are just floating in the water as the ship is sinking. I run up to the deck to try and find you but there’s a storm. Everything seems to be too much. And I can never find you. I-I-”
Magnum pulls (Y/N) into a hug as she starts crying.
“I’ll always be 'ere (Y/N).”
“But Captain-”
“Always, (Y/N). Please trust me on this.”
She pulled away from Magnum and nodded her head. He smiles at them before looking away and sighing.
“So this here be why ye 'aven’t slept.”
“Yeah, I-I didn’t want to bother everyone but I guess it got out of hand.”
“Will ye sleep 'ere? If I was to watch o'er ye?”
“I,” (Y/N) smiled, “I think it would be better if I had someone to cuddle up with.”
Magnum smiled as he got ready for bed. (Y/N) laid down in the bed and snuggled up to Magnum when he joined her. He held her close to him as sleep gently washed over the two.

Day 1
Captain Magnum stands tall at the helm of his ship as they pull in to dock. “Arcadia you say.” He leans to the side, speaking to his first mate. They nod, looking down at the map in their hands. “Lads and Ladies.” He eyes up some of his female crew mates. “We be making port and stock up, we leave at night fall.” He explains, getting nods of agreement from his crew.
They dock and in a flash the crew was off, taking in the new place that they had made dock. Magnum and his first mate are the last to leave the ship, making their way in to the town. No one dared to stare at the tall pirate captain as he strides to the market place. Today wasn’t an overly busy day so it was easy for him to navigate through.
For you though? A slow day is never good for business. You stand behind the counter of your stall, taking note of stock after you sent out an order of apples to a kind old lady. To say you were intrigued by the tall captain was an understatement. You could see him from across the market place, laughing with another pirate who you could guess to be his first mate.
Soon enough the pair came to your stall as you clean off the counter top. “Afternoon lass.” The taller one asks, no doubt a captain from his attire. You look up and flash him a smile that has his heart melting a bit. “I be Captain Magnum, this is me first mate.” He gestures to the pirate beside him.
You nod, laying the rag over your shoulder. “Afternoon, I’m Y/n.” You greet, tilting your head to the side. “Can I interest you in anything? Ship restock perhaps?” You gesture around to the goods you have shelved and on display. Different fruits were in baskets, jars of jam and spices were on shelves, and a table holds different baked goods you had made yourself.
The first mate wastes no time in taking a look at the goods, making Magnum roll his eyes a bit. He himself takes a moment to look you over before offering you a smile and making an order for the ship. It was right there that he was hooked on you. Everything about you had him curious, had him under a spell. He made the decision as he and his first mate walked away that he was going to see you again.
5 Months
Every month or so the ship comes in and makes port at the town to stock up. Every time he’s made sure to go and see you at your stall in the market place. “I’m starting to think that you’re just here for the sweets.” You laugh a bit as he pays for one of your sweetest pastries. It was a bit of a secret that he had a rather big sweet tooth. Any chance like this was one he was willing to take to get his hands on sweets.
Captain Magnum smiles, shaking his head. “That’s part of it lass.” He didn’t want to admit how smitten with you he is. He can’t find himself telling you how in the past few months that he hasn’t been in town he’s been thinking about you. You were just so sweet you were almost unreal to him.
You gasp, catching his attention from his thoughts. “I got you something before you head back to the ship.” You insist, disappearing behind the counter for a moment. Captain Magnum tilts his head in curiosity as you appear again, setting a basket on the counter top. “It’s not much but I thought you’d like it, took a while to make but.” You trail off, watching him look at the assortment of baked goods in the basket.
He smiles, meeting your eyes. “I don’t know what to say. Thank you.” You brush it off, turning so he can’t see the red tint that over comes your face. “I’ll see you next time Y/n.”
When you turn back he’s already off and heading back to the ship. “Bye Captain.” You smile, watching him disappear.
That same night out on the sea, Captain Magnum sits in his cabin, looking through the basket sitting on his table. A single bottle sits at the bottom of the basket, a note rolled up in side. How cliche, he thought with a smile. Opening the bottle he slip the paper out of the bottle.
Dearest Captain Magnum,
I look forward to your next visit, I must admit that in the short time that I’ve come to know you I count the days. Next time you come why don’t we get a drink? I think it would be quite nice what about you?
With love Y/n
13 Months
The crew’s tired of it already, tired of his mood, of his attitude. They’re tired of being lost on adventures. So what better to do than sacrifice the first mate to get him to man up. “Yes?” Captain Magnum calls out when a knock comes to his cabin door. “Enter.” The doors opens and in steps his first mate, swatting the hand of another crew mate who pushed him in. “What is it?” Magnum questions form his table where he writes a letter to Y/n.
The first mate takes in a deep breath, striding over to the table. “Captain.” He starts, straightening up. “The crew and I think you need to stop at Arcadia for a few days.” He says confidently, making the Captain raise an eyebrow to him. “You’re a mess captain, you need that woman.”
Captain Magnum leans back in his chair, running a hand over his beard. “Mayhaps you’re right.” He smiles at the thought of spending more than a day with you. Come day break and they make doc at the town. He was at your stall long before you were even out there.
You give him a smile though you were utterly confused by his presence. “I didn’t think you were coming back yet.” You admit, crossing your arms. Captain Magnum chuckles, adjusting his hat nervously.
“Me crew brought up some news to me and I thought I should act on it. Hows about we go get a drink las?”
You smile, looking him in the eye before nodding. “A drink sounds nice.”

Quick question: Which villain/hero is which character? I've just started to read your AU (It's flipping amazing BTW), but sometimes I keep forgetting who is who 'cause of the secret identities and all. 😅
I’m glad you like it pal, and no problem: (real name; super power)
Tell me if I forgot anybody. Other villains and heroes will be added if they appear in the story. Sorry this is so long,
Things to note: Jack and Mark are Jackieboy Man and Silver Shepherd because it seemed weird to not make them superheroes. All the Sides used to be Thomas before he was broken apart. I want to add in Lixian, Gabe, and Mika but don’t know how to yet and I don’t want to throw them in haphazardly because they deserve better than that.
*Heroes: (aka the Coalition of Heroes which include some of the Iplier’s, most of the Septics, and half of the Sides)
-The Silver Shepherd (it’s Mark Fischbach; super strength, flight, invulnerability)
-Jackieboy Man (Seán McLoughlin; super speed, X-ray vision, keen hearing, super agility)
-Detective Abe Lauer (Detective Abe; unwillingly and occasionally displaced in time, unable to die)
-Dr. Edward Iplier and Dr. Henrik von Schneeplestein (the don’t have a secret identity; cynicism, medical knowledge)
-Marvin the Magnificent (this is his secret identity because he doesn’t go by his real name; magic, alchemist)
-Bro Average (Chase Brody, immaculate accuracy)
-J.J (Jameson Jackson; time manipulation)
-Gatling (Bob Muyskens; summons impenetrable barriers)
-The Drowned Man (Wade Barnes; hydrokinesis)
-UFO (Amy Nelson; flight)
-Blank (Ethan Nestor; aura dampening, invisibility)
-Robbie the Zombie (Robert Gravesly; zombie, super strength, undead)
-Captain Morality (Patton Sanders; emotional manipulation)
-Logic (Logan Sanders; super intelligence)
-Prince Creativity (Roman Sanders; object summoning, powers based in creativity)
-Anxiety (Virgil Sanders; fear manipulation, manifestation of fears)
-Nate (Nathan Sharp; bard, he strengths and deplores people with music, turning reality into a music video)
-Bing (doesn’t use a secret identity; AI unit, super intelligence, nanites)
-Oliver (Google Yellow; AI unit, super intelligence, nanites, humanity)
-The Host (formerly Arthur Isaacs, the Author; realty manipulation through narration)
-King of the Squirrels (Kaylor Kingston; animal telepathy)
-Explosion Boy (Eric Derekson; explosions from his fingertips)
-Yellow Tape (Randall Voorhees)
-Captain Magnum (doesn’t use a secret identify; he’s a 10ft tall pirate)
*Allies:
-Mayor Damien Mood (Dark, yes he finds their trust hilarious)
-Yancy Times (doesn’t use a secret identity, doesn’t want to be a bad guy; manipulating people when he sings)
-the Jims (RJ, CJ, all of them work for both sides; crazy hive mind)
-The DA (Y/N; is the viewer)
*Villains:
-Dark (Damien and Celine Doom, the Entity; void aura, magic, undying)
-Wilford Warfstache (William J. Barnum, other identities; manipulation of the meta, void manipulation, plot armor)
-Anti (glitch demon; dominion over electronics, void manipulation)
-Mare (music demon; sound manipulation)
-Google (doesn’t use an alias; AI unit, super intelligence, nanites)
-Deceit (Janus Sanders; illusions, magic, living lie detector)
-The Duke (Remus Sanders; object summoning, powers based in creativity)
-Orange (too lazy to use an alias; tbd when Thomas announces him)
-Ed Edgar (does not use a real alias; no known superpowers)

Destress (Anti x Reader x Mare)
Request: reader lives and works at the ipliers, but with the surge of new egos they get a bit overwhelming, so they go hang out with their favorite egos to destress(AKA Anti and Mare) from @bee-wrecker
//First time writing poly so please be gentle.
You loved working for the Ipliers usually. They were all wonderful to you. Wilford often snuck you all kinds of sweets from around the world, though you never could figure out how exactly he did so. The Jims always tried to include you and you had learned how to understand and speak their special language. Bim was kind and made sure you were nearby when he filmed his shows since you “had a calming aura” and Google never minded giving you information you needed. The others kept you from interacting with Ed much and you had tea with Host often. Work was hardly work... unless there were new egos.
Mark just had to go and make A Heist With Markiplier. It was amazing, yes, but it caused a lot of work for you. Dark’s attention was taken with the new surge of affection from the fanbase so that left you with little help in processing, touring, orienting, and settling three new egos. There was the prisoner Yancy, adventurer Illinois, and pirate Captain Magnum. Three new egos on your own was a bit overwhelming and Wilford must have noticed you struggling.
“(Y/N) why don’t you take a bit of a break. You deserve it. Darkimoo won’t ever know. He’s too busy lately to anyway. Go relax and I’ll take care of the new kids. It’ll be fine.” Wilford said, giving you a smile. He cared for you as though you were an Iplier yourself.
You hurried to text Anti and Mare in your groupchat and they agreed to meet you at your place. By the time you arrived, there was your favorite food ready as well as Netflix queued up and ready to go.
“Who do I have to kill?” Anti asked. You laughed and shook your head.
“No one. I just want to relax a bit. Markiplier made a series with three new egos and things have been crazy. That’s all.”
“Dark’s not helping? Usually he’s the responsible one. Like Phantom is for us Battles”
“He’s been a bit caught up in it too. He got a new look and more in the series so the fanbase has been going nuts for him too.”
Mare nodded in understanding before pulling you gently onto his lap on the couch. Anti grabbed the food and sat by you two.
“Oi! Don’t hog the gal.” He huffed with a rare pout. Mare pouted back but relented.
You spent the rest of the day being doted on by a glitchy demon and a siren with Netflix and take out. All in all, worth the craziness of three new egos. As you nodded off, cuddled by two of your favorite people, you felt two pairs of lips kiss the top of your head and heard whispered affection but the exact words were lost on your dozing mind. All you knew is that you were safe and loved.

Hugs From The Captain!
---
“Good job, matey!” Magnum yells out when you drop a large sack of coins on the ground. You breathe heavily and your arms are shaking, but by God you carried that shit onto the ship. In the middle of a gunfight, no less!
You don't respond, preferring to hit the deck as bullets continue to fly. You cover your ears with your hands and squeeze your eyes shut tight. No matter how long you'd be on this ship, you were sure you'd never get used to this part. You don't know how long you were on the floor, but when you looked again, two other crewmates were on the floor as well and it was silent. You scramble to your feet and look around, sighing when you notice the other ship sailing away.
"Good job, Y/N!" One of your mates says loudly, still on their stomach on the floor. Ah, yes. Gunshots. Ringing in the ears. Love it.
“Thank--!” You’re cut off with a squeak as Magnum squeezes you in a giant bear hug.
“Aw, you’re doin’ fantastic! That was wonderful! I never thought I’d have such a great first mate!” He turns to another crewmate. “...no offense”
“Some taken…” he sighs and rests his cheek in his hand.
"Mag-" you can't finish before you wheeze a breath out, and the captain takes that as a sign he should put you down. He does, holding your shoulders as you sway, and brushes you off a bit.
"Apologies… I get a bit excited," he flushes.
"You're-" you clear your throat, "you're fine."
"Anywho, let's all celebrate tonight! I have some o' that fancy whiskey in me cabin!" He suggests.
"Fancy?" You croak.
"Ya know. Fancy! The bottle actually has a label on it!"
"Right… uh, sure. We can do that. Ok."
"Fantastic!" He reaches out for another hug but freezes when you flinch away. He plays it off by grabbing a rope and telling the crew what to do.
You sigh in relief. You love the guy, you do, but goddamn he is strong. Sometimes a hug is a bit too forceful. You were sure he's cracked a rib before.
You stand next to him, waiting for him to let you know what you can do, but he just smiles and sets a hand on your head.
"Ye were wonderful today. Yer arms must be tired. Ye should go rest," He explains.
"What? No, I'm fine!" You put your hands on your hips. He squints at your arms, and you look down and notice they're shaking. You let them drop.
"Mm. Go rest," he instructs and you cross your arms before sulking away to your room.
--
You lay on your bed completely still. You'd been in this position for the past 4 hours. It had gotten dark and you were sure you missed dinner.
Ok, fine, your arms hurt before.
But now you couldn't feel your body at all. Everything was completely numb. Maybe carrying a giant bag of gold coins that was nearly the same size as you wasn't the best idea.
You hear the door creak and your heartbeat speeds up but you literally do not move a single muscle.
"Mate? Y'alright?" Magnum asks. You groan in response. That was supposed to be a "yeah". He walks over to your bed and you manage to move your neck a bit to look up at him.
"I have a feelin' yer bein' dramatic." He chuckles, a deep sound that echoes through your room.
"How dare you," You whisper, your throat hoarse.
"It can't be that bad."
"Not everyone is a seven foot tall mass of muscle."
"There's a bit I'm pudge in here too, don't worry."
"Whatever."
"We're celebratin'. Ye wanna come or are ye gonna lay here for another 6 hours?"
So it was 6, not 4.
"Magnum, boss, cap, mate, I don't think I can fucking move, much less dance with you people." Because whenever there's drinking, there will be dancing. You've been here long enough to know that is a fact.
"Here, I have an idea."
"Wha--" He lifts you up like you weigh nothing and you feel your face heat up a bit. He pulls you into a bone crushing hug. Literally. You hear and feel your back crack in several places. He drops you onto your feet and, again, you sway a bit, and again, he steadies you. You stretch your limbs, sighing.
"Uh… thanks. Still don't think I can dance, though..." You scuff the floor with the toe of your boot.
"Eh, thas alright. Ye can sing, can't ye? Ye know a few shanties?" He asks.
"... a few…" You say with a smile.
"Good! I'm sure they'll love to hear ye," He gently sets a hand on your shoulder. He sets it gently on purpose. You know because he was about to slam it down with a force that would probably dislocate your shoulder, but stopped a few centimeters away and made sure to let it down soft.
"Mm. We going now?" You pat the hand on your shoulder.
"If ye want."
"Bet. Let's go."
--
After an hour or so, you had exhausted your voice and all the shanties you knew. Magnum was right, the other crewmates were very excited to hear you sing. They even chanted beforehand. As soon as they recognized the songs they joined in they joined in. They started dancing after a while, too.
You're sitting by a light in the corner, sipping your drink. They're having a lot of fun, and you can't help but smile. You feel… safety. Comfort. Affection. Love.
You love these people. This is your family. This is a group of people who you might have never known if your life had gone just a bit differently. You thanked whatever being is out there in the universe for giving you this… family. This feeling of pure joy.
You hear loud creaking towards you as Magnum approaches. You tilt your head back to look up at him behind you.
"Oi. Ye alright?" He inquires in a voice much quieter than you're used to.
"Yeah, I'm good," You say, matching his volume.
"Ye were actin' like we were goin' ta haveta saw yer arms off," He teases.
"I thought you were!" You defend jokingly.
"I'da been the one to do it."
"Woulda given me a cup of beer and said 'it's basically an anaesthetic'."
"Well, of ye drink enough…" you both chuckle. You look down at your drink and swish it around in your cup a little. You can feel him staring at you and it starts to make you uncomfortable.
"What is it?" You snap a bit on accident. He frowns. "Sorry…"
"Ye sure yer alright?" You groan loudly in annoyance.
"Yes! I am absolutely sure, 100%--"
"Tell me and I'll buy ye a treat next time we get to shore." You both stare at each other for a moment. Your arms are in midair since you were cut off from your dramatics. He had an eyebrow raised and was looking at you suspiciously. You drop your hands onto the table.
"I feel useless." You say bluntly.
"Wha? Why? Did someone say somethin'? I'll shoot them out o' me cannon right now!" Magnum panics.
"See, this is why I didn't want to tell you!" You sigh and fall back in your chair.
"Wha d' ye mean?" He furrows his eyebrows.
"There's no… nobody said anything, I just… I got a bag. One bag!"
"Aye! An' that was very--"
"Mags, they each got at least two. Some even had three. You got seven. Plus a chest."
"Ok, so we're a little… little stronger than ye, what about it?"
"I'm not… useful to you! I'm not as strong, I'm not good in a gunfight, I can barely talk my way out of anything--"
"Ye talked John out of his potatoes."
"I thought his name was Jack?"
"Eh, he-he never corrects anyone. I called him James the other day and nothin'."
"Huh. But that doesn't count. I know him."
"Ye are useful, and even if ye weren't, yer a valuable… valuable? Yea, valuable member of this crew. I haven't seen 'em dance this much in months. I haven't smiled this much in months. Ye are a very important part of me ship. Crew. Me crew."
"...Mags, are you drunk?"
"Not the point. Wha I'm sayin' is we love ye and now we're attached and ye can never leave."
"Ah, I see. C'mon. Bedtime," You stood up and walked over to Magnum, putting a gentle hand on his arm. He squints at it.
"No," He looks up at you.
"Mags…" You warn.
"No," He crosses his arms and leans back.
"Magnum," You cross your arms. Is he really doing this right now?
"Call me captain," He smiles brightly.
"...I'm not doing that," You can't help but smile back.
"Please?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Why do you want me to?"
"I like it."
"Ok, Mr. authority complex."
"Stop psychoal… psychoan… psy--"
"Psychoanalyzing."
"Yeah that."
"Only if you get to bed."
"...bah."
"Bah, yourself. Stand up."
"I'm a lil tipsy, it's fine." He says, swaying a little. You put your hand back on his arm and he stares at it as you lead him to his cabin.
"You'll thank me in the morning when everyone has a pounding hangover and you just have a headache." You pat his arm.
"Mm. Mate?" He asks, still staring at your hand.
"Yeah, Mags?" You open his door and let him walk in. He looks at you standing in the doorway with this… weirdly soft look on his face.
"...I love ye." He whispers. Ok, that was way too quiet and a very uncharacteristic thing to say.
"Love you too. You're drunk." You repeat.
"I know. I still love ye."
"Thank you. Go to sleep."
"Cuddle?"
"No, you smell like whiskey."
"Please?"
"No. Love you. Go to sleep."
"G'night."
"Night."
--
"Morning, everyone." You smile over your cup at the tired and annoyed faces that walk through the door. Some mumble a "good morning" back, some only give you a wave, some straight up ignore you. Magnum walks in, visibly doing better than the others, and makes his way to you.
"Uh…" He scratches his beard.
"Hm. Let me guess…" you tap your chin with a finger and raise your eyebrows.
"...thank you." He sighs.
"Called it," You tilt your seat back and put your feet on the table.
"Yeah, yeah…" He grumbles.
“Sleep well?” You sip your drink.
“Eh… yeah…” He says after a couple seconds.
“That’s a hesitation I hear,” You raise an eyebrow.
“Mm… dream was a… a little bad…” He sits in a chair across from you.
“Bad? Bad how?” You tilt your head, and the look he gives you isn’t a very good one.
“Eh, jus’… jus’… mm…”
“Don’t wanna talk?”
“Not… really…”
“Ok. Coffee?”
"Aye." You stand up and get another cup of coffee with a little bit of sugar and some whiskey and hand it to him.
"... sugar 'n whiskey…" he says, surprised for some reason.
"Yeah. You like it that way, right?" You ask, worried you'd gotten it wrong.
"Aye, aye I do…"
"...is something wrong?"
"...no. Nothin'."
"You… sure?"
"Aye."
"Ok… I'm gonna… go see if the others want anything." He nods as you walk away.
That was. Very weird.
You shake your head and walked up to John. James. Whatever.
"Mornin'... Joseph." You say experimentally.
"Mornin', Y/N." He smiles. So, he just answers to anything. Great.
"Need anything? Coffee? Food? Drugs?"
"Why would we need drugs?" Another mate asks.
"For your hangovers, duh." You clap your hand on Jim's (Jake's?) shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll spike your drinks." They all thank you at different energy levels as you leave to get their individual cups of coffee. You feel someone staring at you and turn to see Magnum gazing at you from his seat. He clears his throat and turns away once you see him. You sigh and distribute the cups among the crewmembers. One of them stares at you as you hand them a cup.
"What?" You ask defensively.
"He's in love with you." She comments.
"Yeah, I know…" you sigh and sit down at her table.
"You know? What do you mean you know?!"
"I mean, I know!"
"Do you like him back?"
"That's a difficult question."
"What does that mean?"
"It means I love him a lot but he's a greedy bastard with an authority complex and he hugs way too hard."
"The hugs are not that bad." You give her a look. "Ok, yeah, they are."
"Uh-huh."
"You could… teach him how to hug and see where that gets you?"
"I think I'd hurt his feelings if I suggested that."
"Then just… hug him!"
"What? No!" You whisper-shout to get your point across but also make sure Magnum doesn't hear you.
"Why not?!" She whisper-shouts back.
"That's… weird! I don't give hugs! Hugs are not a thing I give! I get hugs I do not give them!" You both stare at each other for a minute.
"You're touch starved," she raises an eyebrow.
"No shit, so is he."
"One hug! That's it!"
"I refuse."
"I'm sure it'll make him happy!" You pause, thinking about it. He did seem a little upset when you flinched at him. You glared at the pirate and she gave you a shit-eating grin back. She knew what she was doing. Fuck.
"One hug." You hold up your finger to emphasize the point.
"That's all I ask." You point at her and stand up from your seat. You walk over to Magnum. He looks up at you, eyes widening for a moment.
"First mate." He nods.
"Captain," You nod back, "Can we talk?"
"...uh."
"Just real quick? Somewhere private?"
"Uhhhh."
"Magnum."
"Ok. Yea, we can… do that." You nod and began walking towards his cabin. After a couple steps you realize he's not following you and turn around. There he is, sitting at his table.
"Mags?"
"Hm? Oh! Comin'."
He makes his way over to you and enters his cabin. You enter afterwards, shutting the door behind you. You look at him, this 7-and-a-half foot giant of a man, fidgeting. Nervous. You squint at him. How are you gonna go about this?
"You hug too hard." You state. He frowns and drops his hands to his sides.
"Oh…" He says, sounding disappointed. Fuck hurting his feelings, he was gonna hurt your organs, goddamn.
"You need… you gotta be softer. More-More gentle. Like… like, uh…"
"I'm not sure I can--"
"Here, lemme-just…" you shuffle over to him and wrap your arms around his torso. You feel him tense up under your touch. You lay your cheek on him and just squeeze your arms a little. You can't reach all the way around, but it seems to be working pretty well for what you can do. His arms are just frozen in the air, and he keeps moving them just a little, like he wants to hug you back but can't. You inhale a little and smell gunpowder, wood, and coffee. It's a comforting smell, mostly because it's just his, and you can't help but squeeze a little tighter and nuzzle into him. His breath hitches and his heartbeat speeds up. You grin.
You're fucking with him. Not on purpose, but it's happening.
You finally pull away after a few minutes, giving one final squeeze to his midsection before finally stepping back. You look up at him, an innocent smile on your face. He just stares down at you, a blush on his face. His eyes are a little foggy, and you start to get a little worried. Maybe that was… too much, too fast.
"Mags? You okay?" You whispered. He seems to snap out of whatever trance he's in at that because he sucks in a breath and drops his arms.
"Aye! I'm alright! I'm going to uh… go now!" He announces loudly and stomps out of his cabin.
You chuckle as you watch him walk robotically over to the front of the ship, almost tripping over himself and yelling at anyone who laughed. You sigh, shaking your head and sitting on his bed.
You'd wait until he told you about his feelings. You'd wait until he was ready. You could do that... You could do that.
You look out the door again, seeing the crew all working, and him just standing at the wheel. He has a dopey, crooked smile on his face and his hands keep twitching like he can't contain himself. He catches your eye and looks at you. You stick your tongue out and scrunch up your face. He smiles wider and it looks like he chuckles. He looks away, embarrassed. You smile again before standing up and leaving his cabin, planning to ask what you can help with.
Hugs are good enough for now.

Requested by Anon - Reader is a Navy Captain who helped bring the guys back home. She and Rick had a connection, but nothing ever happened. One day she shows up in Hawaii, and meet him by accident. I know it’s too long for a request, but maybe? Characters – Rick x reader, Magnum, TC, Nuzo Word Count – 724
Crossing the dirt ground you moved with your team, moving quietly you managed to take down the men surrounding the building before they realised, they had been infiltrated. You had surrounded the building and them team was communicating. ‘Go ahead.’ You told them, you watched as Finn put the charge on the door before moving out the way, you turned your head as she door popped off and you filed in, two men behind you as you crouched down in front of them, placing your gun behind you. They looked at you with squinted eyes, you reached for your torch light as the others did as well. The light shining down on them showed the skinny and tired looking men. ‘Time to get you guys home.’ You said, before standing up. You reached you hand out and the one you had known as Wright, took your hand and stood up whilst the other two were pulled up as well. You looked at you men who nodded. ‘On me.’ You said, switching off the torches and turned around, holding your gun as well. You left the building, signalling to the men that were waiting and watching as you lead the group towards the helicopter that was hidden. You stood to the side when you reached it, motioning for the men to get in, and the others moved around getting into their seats before you got into the front passenger seat. You held on as the chopper rose and the houses became smaller. ‘It’s a pleasure to have you back with us.’ You said, they looked at you and nodded. ‘It’s an hour flight out before we land at base, snacks are in the tub, make yourselves at home.’ You told them, motioning to the tub, before you leaned forward. ‘Alpha one, this is ground team one.’ You said into the mic, looking at the land that was moving fast underneath you. ‘Do you have the packages?’ The voice came through, you looked at the men again and nodded. ‘Yes we do, sir.’ You said, rolling your shoulders. ‘Well done Captain.’ You nodded, as the boys looked at each other before taking a bite of the sandwich.

‘Watch it.’ You said, the man bumping into you. You let out a scoff as he turned and apologised looking at you, you recognised him, but you shook your head as you turned back. ‘Captain Y/L/N.’ The man said, you turned to him and raised an eyebrow. ‘Yes, how can I help you?’ You asked, he stood tall in front of you. ‘I’m Rick Wright. You saved me and my team.’ He told you, your eyes narrowed before you smiled and nodded. ‘Yeah.’ You said, he was healthier now and had bulked up. ‘How are you doing?’ You asked him, he scoffed before reaching up and rubbing the back of his neck. ‘Better than I was then.’ He replied, you nodded. ‘What brings you to Hawaii?’ He asked you, you shrugged your shoulders. ‘Decided that I wanted to see the world as a tourist and not a Navy Captain.’ You told him, he nodded. ‘You on a break then?’ Rick asked you, you shook your head. ‘No, finished up my service just a little over a year ago.’ You told him, as you moved aside from a pedestrian that was walking past you. ‘Are you doing anything just now?’ he asked you, you shook your head. ‘No.’ You told him. ‘Why don’t you come to my bar then?’ He offered, your eyes widened. ‘You own a bar?’ You asked shocked, he smiled widely. ‘Yeah, the team and I all retired here.’ He said. ‘Everyone’s here?’ You asked, he nodded. ‘Yeah, I own a bar, Magnum is a private investigator, TC owns a tour company and Nuzo has family.’ He told you, you smiled widely glad that they were all living their lives with each other. ‘Wait, you guys are the base for Robin Masters books, aren’t you?’ You asked him, his face dropped before nodding. ‘You’re a fan?’ He asked you, you shrugged your shoulders. ‘I’ve read some of them.’ You told him, you had both started walking as you continued the conversation, as you asked him where you were in the books and how they had been coping and where you had visited so far.

Sea of Lost Love: Pt. 2
park jihoon x oc
g: fluff, angst
summary: you used to visit your grandma who lived by the sea in her beach home when you were younger, and you finally returned after several years of not going. not only did you long for the gentle breeze of the sea, but your heart also became excited to see that special friend who has also longed for your return
a/n: okaaay so i lost the og file of the 2nd part and had to rewrite this today, so yes there will be a 3rd and last part which will be posted by the weekend aye
The weather was becoming a little bit more cooling rather than overly hot, even though the sun shone brightly than usual. Jihoon was about to finish his sandcastle right next to yours, and you were already done a while before. You looked at him becoming even more serious on finishing his so-called masterpiece, making you laugh whenever his face became stern as ever. You rolled your eyes as you stood up and walked around him and his sandcastle, crossing your arms while pursing your lips, nodding every now and then as you ‘examined’ his sandcastle as if you were a keen observant of art
“How is my magnum opus, Madame?” he smirked and shook his head sarcastically
“Hmm, not feeling it.” you joked, looking away
“Gosh, you don’t know art when you see one!” he gasped as he stood up, holding his toy shovel while pointing it at you
“I have no intentions of buying your art for my gallery.” you smirked, still looking away. You took a few steps and accidentally hit a part of his sandcastle, which caused it to have a small area damaged
“Hey! You need to pay for that!” he opened his mouth into an ‘o’ shape in shock, putting his hands on his hips
“Oops.” you widened your eyes as you looked at what you just did
“Come here, you.” Jihoon marched his way to you, not until you ran off away first and he chased you, making you giggle because it seemed like you both were just little kids again being all playful and not caring about the world around
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” you yelled while laughing, Jihoon grinning as he tried to catch you
“The damage has been done! Your apology is no more accepted!” he yelled back while chasing you
After a while, you suddenly felt your stamina weaken and slowly stopped running. Jihoon was able to swiftly catch you into a backhug, where he carried you a bit and swayed you around, pants and giggles coming from your mouth as tried to squirm out of his embrace
“Put me down!” you squealed
“Say the magic word?” Jihoon said as he kept spinning you
“Please!” you laughed, and he finally put you down and suddenly laid on the sand with his arms open wide, as if he was a starfish sunbathing. You shook your head and chuckled while laying down next to him, resting on his arm before he pulled you in closer and put your head by his chest as he closed his eyes
“It’s sad to think that we’re not kids anymore.” you sighed, trying to look at the clouds that were moving away from the sun
“We can always be kids when we want to.” he said without moving
“I’m still wondering if there are really sharks around here.” you puffed your cheeks and blew a raspberry, making Jihoon laugh as he opened his eyes and looked at you
“You’re telling me we’re not kids anymore but you still think like one?” he teased
“Stop it! I shouldn’t have watched ‘Jaws’ last week.” you playfully his chest
“There aren’t any sharks, so don’t you fret.” he smiled and closed his eyes again, and you moved a bit closer to him as you close your eyes as well
“ I’ll protect you.” he muttered, and you raised your head to look at him. He only opened one of his eyes to glance at you secretly, but he saw you already looking back at him so he closed it back as if nothing happened
“I saw that.” you gave a smug as you sat up and crossed your arms
“Saw what?” he smiled, putting his arms behind his head for support
“Jihoooooon.” you poked his side, making him whimper and laugh
“Don’t poke my sides!” he grinned as he opened his eyes
“Come on, my grandma’s gonna look for me. And I got sand in my hair.” you stood up, wiping sand off of your clothes, but Jihoon didn’t budge
“Stand up, lazy boy.” you crossed your arms again as you looked at Jihoon, who only looked at you and smiled
“Do you want sand on your face?” you smirked
“No!” Jihoon shrieked and immediately stood up, both of you ending up laughing and walking away as he offered to bring you back to your home
-
Your grandma looked at you as you smiled and looked at your plate while moving your fork around your food, making her smile as well as she realized you were daydreaming yet again
“Looks like you had fun with Jihoon?” she smiled as she fed herself a bit of the meal for dinner
“Yeah. I did.” you grinned and slowly looked at her
“Y/n, you’re blooming.” she teased
“Grandma, you have no idea.” you chuckled
“Oh? Tell me, has Jihoon courted you?” she rested her elbow on the table as he put her hand on her cheek
“Grandma!” you giggled
“You’re not children anymore. You are at an age where you need to experience puppy love.” she smiled sweetly as she reached out and held your hand
“I… don’t know yet, grandma. He’s a very nice and thoughtful person. I’m just not sure if I’m ready to fall in love yet.” you pursed your lips in indecision
“You have not had a boyfriend before?” your grandma raised a brow
“No, grandma. I just haven’t felt anything for anyone yet.”
“Well, what about Jihoon?” she asked
“Not sure.” you shrugged, making her smirk as she stood up and grabbed her plate to put it in the sink
“Let me tell you about the time I met your grandfather here by the sea.” she said as she sat next to you, making you turn a bit to her to properly listen
“Your grandfather was a captain of a cruise ship. He came here, all the way from a different town, because there was a cruise ship stop from another beach a few kilometers away. He didn’t want to stay there since he said it was too crowded, so he visited the beach here, which is more private and quiet.” she continued,
“I saw him one morning, by the bedrocks at the other side of the beach, throwing a few stones as he just brought a small picnic basket and continued admiring the sea. I kept looking at him from afar, thinking he lived nearby. I walked up to him, but he suddenly became scared because he thought I was going to scold him for trespassing. I assured him that visiting the beach was fine, as long as he does not bring a big group over. So that day, we talked, ate a bit, and talked more, until the sun had set and we had to part.” she sighed, looking at the frame of her and your grandfather at the other side of the room
“What happened after, grandma?” you asked attentively
“Because he had to go back to work the next day, he asked if we could meet at dawn again. So I accepted, sneaking out without the consent of my parents. Once I successfully got out, I ran towards the bedrocks again and saw him, in his uniform. Mind you, he looked dashing in his outfit.” she chuckled, and you couldn’t help but get excited to hear the rest of the story
“So, he told me he enjoyed every bit of the time we spent together and that he will come back, every three months. He promised that he will meet me every 18th of the month, exactly 9am at the bedrocks, bringing a picnic basket of food he personally prepares as we just spend time chatting while looking at the sea in front of us. Next thing we knew, after the 3rd meeting, we fell in love.” your grandmother couldn’t help but smile widely as she turned to look at you
“How did your parents handle the whole situation?” you looked at her worriedly
“Ah, it was hard.” she sighed, pouting a bit before she continued
“They wanted me to marry someone who was from the area, but no other man ever caught my heart and made it flutter the way your grandfather ever did. I fought for him, even though my parents were very against him.” your grandmother suddenly sniffed a bit, and you rubbed her shoulder lightly to calm her down
“So he sacrificed his dream of becoming a captain to stay here with me and finally find a well-paying job. Eventually, because of his loyalty and respect towards my parents, and them seeing that he truly loved me and never let me go, we got married and became blessed with five children, including your mom.” she giggled, putting a few strands of your hair behind your ear
“You are a perfect reflection of what your mother looked like when she was your age.” she gushed, making you look down in bashfulness
“Thank you.” you nodded and looked at her again, then slowly turned your head to look at the wedding photo of your grandparents that was hung by the kitchen
“Do you miss grandpa?” you asked, slowly turning your head again to look at her
“All the time. I think of him every night before I sleep, knowing that he’s watching over me, and all of us in the family.” she nodded
“But why did grandpa give up on his dream? Couldn’t he have just become a captain again someplace else after you both got married?”
“He did not want to leave me all alone, y/n.” she caressed your hair a few times again
“And he believed true love is worth sacrificing for.”
-
You laid on the bed while staring at your phone, looking at a photo you took of Jihoon working on his sandcastle. You smiled at how serious he looked, thinking he was somewhat very precise on how he wanted the sandcastle to look like. Your phone suddenly vibrated and showed a notification for a text message from Jihoon, startling you and accidentally dropping your phone on your face in the process
“Ack!” you whined, covering your mouth in case your grandma heard, so you stayed still for a short while and finally breathed properly again as you let out a deep breath and opened your phone to read Jihoon’s message
“Hey, I have to help mom on cooking tomorrow the whole day for the party, so let’s just meet at night? I heard it’s Luau themed, so wear something Hawaiian inspired I suppose? Your grandma knows where the party will be if you’re wondering. Good night! :)”
You smiled widely at his text, replying him immediately before you decided to sleep
“Got it. See you tomorrow. Good night!”
You contemplated on whether you were gonna put an emoji or not, so it took a while for you to send your text. You looked at your phone for a while and decided to not put an emoji, so you sent it immediately and put your phone away to sleep. You closed your eyes and tried to sleep, but you felt like you sounded mean on the text since you didn’t put an emoji.
You sighed and grabbed your phone again to send an emoji, but you thought he might get the wrong idea if you suddenly sent him a smiley. You copied your previous text again, and this time, closed it with a smiley emoji as well. But instead of clicking the smiley emoji, you accidentally pressed a heart emoji and didn’t realize it until you finally sent it. You widened your eyes and gasped, putting your phone away in horror and embarrassment and covered yourself with your blanket, forcing yourself to sleep into the night while hoping Jihoon had already fallen asleep.
-
Your grandma was helpful enough to pick out a cute dress for you, where she found a halter dress a friend gave to her but she couldn’t wear it. She thought her body wasn’t formed enough for the dress, so she passed it on to you.
It was a halter dress that had a tie dye design mixed of yellow and orange, long enough to reach just below your knees. You looked at the mirror and examined yourself, your grandma smiling at you as she walked to stand behind you. She put her hands on your shoulders, gathering your hair as she swiped it to your back, revealing your bare shoulders
“My beautiful granddaughter.” she smiled warmly
“This would go well with my new necklace.” you said as you grabbed the necklace at the side table nearby, your grandmother grabbing it to put it on you as you looked at her from the mirror
“The necklace… where did you get it?” she asked
“Jihoon gave it to me, grandma.” you grinned
“I see. It’s beautiful, just like you.” she gushed
“We need to go now, the party is about to start soon.” she said as she walked away, grabbing her small purse by the door and walked out of the room
“Okay. You can do this, y/n.” you took a couple of deep breaths and slowly walked out of the room as well, turning off the lights as you went out and followed your grandma out of the house
-
“So when are we gonna see y/n, Jihoon?” one of Jihoon’s friends, Jinyoung, asked as he drank a glass of pineapple juice
“Any minute now.” he tapped his foot as he looked at his watch
“Jihoon, where is y/n and her grandmother?” Jihoon’s grandma walked over to him as she covered herself with her shawl
“They’re on their way, grams.” he smiled as he hugged her
“Jihoon, they’re here!” your mom called, making Jihoon turn his back as he saw you and your grandma walk towards the part of the beach where the party was held
He suddenly felt the world stop the moment he saw you walk closer, looking around the area of the party as the lights shone beautifully over your sunkissed skin, your long, dark hair flowing through the breeze as you put a few strands behind your ear. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of you, and his friend just stood next to him and patted him on the shoulder, nodding in approval
“She’s lovely, Jihoon.” Jinyoung smiled as he looked at his friend and then to you
“I know.” Jihoon gave a satisfied grin, eyes still glistening at the sight of you
“Oy, Park Jihoon!” you giggled and suddenly ran towards him and gave him a hug, Jihoon’s eyes enlarged from your sudden contact
“Y/n, you came.” he gave a light chuckle as he pulled away from the hug, holding both of your hands. You just raised your brows and grinned at him, making his heartbeat suddenly go faster as he looked into your eyes
“Ahem.” Jinyoung cleared his throat as he stood at the side, making you look at him with a smile
“Oh, right. Y/n, this is Jinyoung. He’s my closest bud from school.” Jihoon looked at Jinyoung and then to you as he introduced both of you
“Nice to meet you.” you grabbed Jinyoung’s hand for a handshake
“Same. Jihoon has talked about you quite a lot.” Jinyoung smiled
“Really? Since when?” you tilted your head in curiosity
“You have no idea. He talks about you almost everyd-“
“Jinyoung! You need to help with the kebabs remember?” Jihoon grinned awkwardly as he looked at Jinyoung
“Oh, right! I’m sorry our intro had to be cut short, I’ll see you around!” Jinyoung waved as he ran off, and you waved back as you looked at Jihoon
“Why did you scare him off like that?” you furrowed your brows and pouted
“He needed to help with the grilling.” Jihoon shrugged and laughed, and he looked at the necklace he gave you. You noticed him stare at the necklace, and you pinched his cheek out of gratitude
“It really fits well with my outfit for tonight. It’s beautiful.” you held on to the necklace and looked at the pendant
“So are you.” Jihoon blurted out, surprising you
“What?” you looked at him, smiling with one of your brows raised
“I mean so are you… hungry?” he smiled awkwardly as he looked at the food stalls nearby
“Oh, there’s grandma.” you chuckled as you grabbed Jihoon’s hand and dragged him to where your grandma was. To his surprise, your grandma was at the stall of his mom’s, and you looked at you grandma in glee as she saw you and Jihoon arrive
“Y/n, this is Jihoon’s grandmother, and his mother.” your grandma smiled sweetly as she introduced you
“Y/n! My, my! You’ve grown so beautifully!” Jihoon’s mother walked out of the stall and went over to you, cupping your face and then slightly brushing your hair
“Hello, Mrs. Park. Really nice to see you again after all these years.” you bowed a bit and grinned
“You look wonderful tonight, y/n.” Jihoon’s grandma walked over to you as she complimented you
“Thank you.” you bowed in respect and then looked to Jihoon
“Please, have some kebabs first and some pineapple juice! The dance party is about to start soon.” Jihoon’s mom said as she walked away to grab some food by the stall
“Good, I’m starving.” Jihoon said as he playfully rubbed his stomach
-
The rest of the night was spent with you, Jihoon, and everyone else eating. You heard so many stories of how Jihoon was like at school. You learned he was actually really good at dancing and joined a lot of competitions, winning first prize on some as well. Even Jinyoung joked that Jihoon once crossdressed as a girl just to win, but he was actually pranked into it for a yearbook photo
“It was the worst!” Jihoon facepalmed, making everyone, including you, laugh at his embarrassment
“Plus, the photo went viral for a short while. Not because he crossdressed, but because he was prettier than most girls in school too!” Jinyoung laughed so hard, he almost fell from the bench he was sitting on
“Grow out your hair. Let’s see who’s prettier between both of us.” you looked at Jihoon and ruffled his hair, and he just pouted in reply
“Looks like the dance party has started since a lot of people are at the circle now. Jihoon, why don’t you and y/n go and have a little fun over there? Even the kids are enjoying the night.” Jihoon’s mom said as she looked at Jihoon
“Let’s go?” Jihoon smiled as he offered his hand to you
“Alright. Jinyoung?” you turned to look at Jinyoung as you grabbed Jihoon’s hand
“You guys go ahead, I’ve got eating to do.” Jinyoung grinned
“Suit yourself.” you smiled as you and Jihoon both ran towards the circle, where fun Hawaiian music was played where it excited both you and Jihoon
You and Jihoon just danced the night away, often dancing around the kids who went up to you and him. You couldn’t help but smile at how much you enjoyed the night just releasing off stress and not caring much about the world again, because you got to spend time with Jihoon again and it definitely made you the happiest. He couldn’t help but look at you become all smiley and enjoying every bit of the time he was able to spend it with you, and he didn’t want this to end
After a fun and long time from dancing, Jihoon grabbed you out of the crowd and you both walked over to the way to the small garden nearby. You couldn’t help but giggle and poke Jihoon on the side, and he just ruffled your hair as he pulled you to his side and rested your head on his shoulder as you both walked to a small garden surrounded by palm trees, also near the seashore of someone else’s home. You sat on one of the huge rocks facing the sea, and Jihoon just walked around the flowers nearby and spotted a small, white gardenia. He decided to pick one and walked over to you, sitting on the rock next to you as he put it on your hair, resting the stem on top of your ear and brushing a few strands of hair to cover it and show the flower beautifully put on your ear
“What flower is this?” you asked, touching the petals a bit
“Gardenia. Symbolizes purity and sweetness.” Jihoon smiled, feeling himself blush a bit
“That’s nice.” you giggled
“Also means that if someone gives you a gardenia, they think you’re lovely.” he confessed, making you look down in shyness as you felt your cheeks heat up
“Please don’t leave.” Jihoon moved a bit to sit right next to you and you looked at him with an apologetic expression
“I don’t want to. But I have to.” you sighed deeply and looked to the sea. Jihoon just slowly nodded and looked down, slowly putting your head on his shoulder and slowly brushing your hair on the side. He knew he couldn’t stop you from leaving, so he just wanted to enjoy every bit of time he gets to spend time with you
-
Your grandma and her friends were having fun while chatting and drinking some juice, reminiscing the times where the place were only consisting of them and their families until many people have also moved within the area to experience a more relaxed home away from the hustling and bustling of the city
“Why don’t you let y/n stay over with you?” Jihoon’s grandma said as she drank her juice
“It’ll take time for her parents to consider. You know how they are workaholics and they also want their children to be close to them all the time.” your grandma said as she chuckled
“Think about it. She can stay with you, but she will attend the same school as Jihoon at the city just 30 minutes away from here.” Jihoon’s grandma suggested
“Like I said, her parents would have to think about her future as well.” your grandma nodded
“Mother?” someone suddenly called from the back, making your grandma enlarge her eyes as she slowly turned to see your mom and dad arrive
“What? What are you both doing here?” your grandma asked, almost shaken
“We came a night earlier since we got off work early today. When we arrived we were worried on where you both were, so good thing we asked Mr. Han next door. Also, where is y/n?” your mother asked as she looked around, trying to look for you
“She’s with friends.” your grandma said, trying to hide her worry because she knew you were with Jihoon
“Ah, so she made friends? That’s great.” your mother nodded and smiled
After a while, you and Jihoon decided to go back to where the party area was. You looped your arms around with Jihoon’s and joked around, laughing at all the memories you both randomly remembered while walking towards the stalls. Your grandma saw you from afar and tried to grab your attention, but your mom saw you and Jihoon walk towards the area and suddenly felt defied. You didn’t realize your parents ever arrived either and you didn’t get any idea of them ever coming that night, until your mom couldn’t help but get angry and walk her way to you and Jihoon. You turned your head to see your mom march her way with a very irritated expression and stopped right in front of you, making you and Jihoon look at her in shock as you both also stopped from walking
“Get in the car. Right now.” your mother said sternly, staring at you with anger in her eyes
“But mom, it’s my last night and I want to spend more time with friends I made here.” you said as you pulled away from Jihoon’s grip
“Friends? Or a friend?” your mom looked at Jihoon, who was beginning to feel afraid of what might happen to you
“Mom-“
“ No. You know better than talking back to your own mother. Let’s go.” your mom grabbed your arm harshly and pulled you away, forcing you to follow her back into the car
“Mom, please you don’t understand!” you pleaded, but she turned and swiftly slapped you right on the side of your face, making you turn and look at the side as the flower Jihoon put on your ear fell to the sand. You were in shock, tears suddenly falling from your eyes as you put your hand on the area where it hurt the most on your cheek. Jihoon witnessed what had happened and froze in shock
“I have never felt so disrespected. We’re leaving tomorrow morning.” your mom said as she turned away again and walked towards your grandmother
“We’ll talk about this at home.” your mom looked at your grandma and then walked over to your dad
“Start the car.” she said as she went to where the car was parked, your dad following right after
You felt afraid to look elsewhere because of the pain and embarrassment of what had happened. You couldn’t even turn to look at Jihoon, but he went out of his way and immediately ran to you and pulled you into a hug, putting your head on his chest. You couldn’t help but weep in pain, both from your own mother’s slap and her feeling of betrayal from you. Jihoon tried to calm you down, but it didn’t work at all. Your grandma slowly walked towards you and Jihoon and hugged you at the side
“Y/n, I’m so sorry, but we have to go.” your grandma said as she tried to fight back her tears
“I don’t want to go…” you finally turned to look at her, and she felt her heart break into pieces the moment she saw you with tears on your eyes and your cheek red from your mother’s hit
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you…” your grandmother said as she pulled you in for a hug
“Grandma I don’t wanna go” you sobbed into her arms
“We need to. I’m really sorry.” she slowly walked away with you and with her arm on your shoulder, and you turned to look at Jihoon who couldn’t bear to see you cry nor get hurt
“Y/n…” he faintly called
“I’m sorry…” you said in a whisper as you looked at him, then slowly turned to walk away in shame from the people who had witnessed everything that had happened. You and your grandma immediately got into the car and went inside, and you just kept your head down as you couldn’t raise it out of humiliation. Eventually, you all left the area and you felt as if you left your heart too.
Jihoon couldn’t take seeing you like this and saw the flower he gave you earlier. He picked it up and looked at it, feeling his heart sink into the ocean out of the pain that you had been taken away from him so harshly. His other hand suddenly bawled into a fist as he walked to where you supposedly were, until Jinyoung stopped him by grabbing his arm
“Let me go, Jinyoung.” Jihoon looked at his friend in fury
“Jihoon, please. It’s already bad enough that a lot of people witnessed what happened. Don’t try to make a scene here.” Jinyoung whispered as he looked at Jihoon, then turned to the other people who were still looking at him
“Show’s over! Go home!” Jinyoung yelled in annoyance to shoo people away
“Sweetie, head on home first. I’ll clean up the stall right now and follow.” Jihoon’s mom said as she walked over to Jihoon, putting her hands on his arms. But Jihoon suddenly felt a clutch inside of him and suddenly made him feel so hurt, he couldn’t look at his mom properly
“It’s not your fault.” Jinyoung assured
“I just… She was… She…” Jihoon couldn’t finish his speech, and suddenly pushed his mother’s and Jinyoung’s grips away from him and walked away, struggling with his emotions
“Jihoon!” his mom called him worriedly, but Jihoon didn’t listen
“Mrs. Park, he needs time alone. I’ll follow him.” Jinyoung said as she turned Jihoon’s mom to the other side to make sure she wasn’t too worried
Jihoon couldn’t get a grip on what he felt, cursing under his breath as he walked back to where the small garden was. He put his hands on his face and then gripped on his hair out of anger, because not only did he feel like he ruined his chance of confessing to you, but he also felt he lost you at the worst timing. He looked at the sea as the waves crashed into the shore, thinking as if it was his heart being smashed over and over again until he couldn’t feel it anymore. He couldn’t do anything but shout out, often your name at times until slowly, he started to lose his breath from all the energy he let out from yelling
Because he knew it was hopeless.

Flight Risk I
Note: This is a thing that’s been in my head for a while, and I thought I’d put it down on paper. I don’t know what it’ll turn into, but for now, I hope you enjoy it.
Reid x Reader Part I: In which a profiler meets a pilot.
Tumblr media
( Series Masterlist ) ( Next )
He’s surprised to see a stranger by the jet. He’s arrived early for their flight, figuring he can while away the time with a book. It’s common to run into either of their pilots in the hangar, their faces are fairly familiar. From time to time Reid sees them sitting on a bench near the plane. One man with bright red hair, the other with deep tan skin and a no-nonsense expression. This person is a completely new face. It’s a young woman, and she’s wearing the uniform of a pilot – white shirt, black tie. Three gold stripes on her shoulder epaulets indicate she’s a first officer, as do the cuffs of her blazer, carefully folded at her side.
There is a book in her hands and upon closer inspection he can see it’s Peter Pan. Something about amuses him, and he smiles. At that moment, she looks up, and after a brief moment of wide-eyed surprise, she offers him a small smile, setting JM Barrie’s magnum opus aside and standing to greet him.
“Hi there! You’re a little early, aren’t you? Hotch said it was wheels up at noon, we’ve still got forty minutes.”
How does she know Hotch? “I’m sorry,” he says. “Are you one of the pilots? I’ve never seen you before.”
She nods. “Yeah, well Martin’s wife just had their third baby, so he’s decided to find a job that will keep him closer to home. You BAU agents are always jet-setting off somewhere at the drop of a hat.”
“Martin?” Reid asks. It’s surely one of the men he’s noticed before, and he feels a twinge of guilt and embarrassment at not knowing their names. After all, these men have been flying them around the country for nearly a decade.
“The one with red hair,” she clarifies. “The serious one is Arthur Dobson, he’s the captain. Anyways, Martin left and I’ve known Arthur for a while. My previous posting wasn’t always steady, and he helped get me an interview for this one, so here I am! Oh,” she adds, a mere afterthought. “I’m Y/F/N Y/L/N.” It’s really nice to meet you.”
“Dr. Spencer Reid,” he says.
Y/N starts to stick out her hand, then pulls it back quickly. “Oh my gosh, I’m sorry, you don’t shake hands, do you? Arthur mentioned that. Sorry.” He wonders what else Arthur has mentioned about the team. It occurs to him that he’s interacted with the pilots only a handful of times, and yet they remember something like that. How much do they overhear on the jet? How much do they know?
It’s so easy, in the back, to forget that there are two other people on the plane. Two other people who live by crazy schedules, whose lives are controlled by the activities of serial offenders around the globe. These figures always in the background, keeping the minibar stocked, making sure the coffee maker works, getting them home after a rough case no matter how early or late it is.
Suddenly they have faces, suddenly they have names.
Reid has always been terrible at small talk, but as the only two people in the hangar, he feels obligated to keep talking. “So, this is your first time with us? How long have you been flying?”
“Oh, since I could first think happy thoughts.” He tilts his head, caught off-guard, and she blushes. “It’s, um, it’s a quote from Pete-”
“I know where it’s from,” he cuts in, not meaning to sound as pretentious as it comes out. He tries to backtrack. “I just thought I was the only one who made jokes like that.” Dumb literary puns and references, jokes that nobody else ever seems to laugh at.
Y/N visibly relaxes, glad that he gets it. “Not at all. I take every opportunity to do that. But to answer your question, I got my first pilot’s license when I was 17. I’ve been flying with my ATPL for about four years now. This is my first flight with the BAU, but not to worry, this isn’t my first time flying a G550, and Arthur has already shown me around Geff.”
“Jeff?” he repeats. Is there some third person he didn’t know?
“G-E-F-F,” she says. “Or rather, G-F-F. That’s what Martin dubbed the jet. G55, G-F-F. Geff.”
“Geff.” So their jet has a name too, apparently. He thinks it’s the sort of thing that Garcia would be happy to know.
“Geff,” she repeats. “So tell me, Doctor, what brings you out here so early?”
“I like to have a few minutes to sit and read before the case begins,” he explains. “Once we board the plane, we don’t have much time to ourselves. I try to fill my head with things I actually enjoy, knowing what I’ll be doing for the next few days.”
“Don’t you have anyone to say goodbye to first?”
He clears his throat, awkwardly. “Uh, not really, no.” Which is why he tends to come straight here.
The expression on her face changes, but it’s not quite the pity he expected. It’s closer to sympathy. Understanding. “I see. Then I suppose we’re alike. It’s just me and my cat. And a roommate. Like you said, it’s a good time to get some reading done. What did you bring?”
He withdraws a copy of Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine, wishing he’d brought something more relatable. But she inspects the cover carefully, smiling.
“I loved Fahrenheit 451, but I’ve never read his other stuff. Would you recommend it?”
“Well, the writing in this one is definitely beautiful, and the metaphor he uses for childhood nostalgia are so fitting,” he says, “but if you’re going to start delving into Bradbury, I’d have recommend The Illustrated Man. It’s one of my favorites.”
“Duly noted.” Her eyes shine and he can’t help but wonder why it is that he’s forgotten the pilots are people too. The plane doesn’t fly itself, after all. Now, he’s afraid he’ll be all too keenly aware of the fact that there are two people mere feet from them, traveling with them on their journeys. An irreplaceable part of the team that manages to stay invisible. Still outsiders, despite shared experiences.
“Y/L/N!” A man’s voice calls out, and Captain Arthur Dobson stands by the plane, cap tucked under the side of his arm, waiting.
“Coming, sir!” she calls. With an apologetic smile, she turns to him. “We have to go prep for the flight. But it’s nice to meet you, Doctor. I’m sure I’ll be seeing you around.” Swiftly, she grabs her hat from the bench and puts it on before running over to the jet.
Alone again, he sits down on the bench and withdraws his book from his bag. He reads the same passage about dreams three times because he can see her and the captain moving about inside the plane. And for some reason, he hopes she’s right.
