The Mountain Goats - The Coroner's Gambit
(thanks to @thatshitkrejci for some great inspo and also advice!!! had a really fun time w/this experiment)
[ID: A digital collage, featuring a number of items inspired by the album The Coroner's Gambit by The Mountain Goats against a floral background. The grim reaper stands strongly in the foreground, casting a physical shadow over the rest of the collage. At his feet is the line "Do You Know How Badly I Wanted To?"]

So I’ve been joking for a while about how Inko manages to afford all of Izuku’s AM merch
But I decided to nerd out and look closer, and I’m pretty sure the only expensive piece Izuku owns is the poster he got from Sir
You might think his dorm looks absolutely stacked
but that’s only because it’s a very small room and he brought every piece he owns
If you look in his old room it’s all the same posters
so he’s owned it all for at least a few years, he’s been working up to this for god knows how many years, just to be the proud owner of 5 posters so basic even he would put tape on them
All of his figures are less than 50$
One of which he’s had since he was a child
And it doesn’t look like the other unidentified figures are anything special either(except maybe AM in his yellow suit)
Izuku only has generic fanboy shit, like maybe one of the posters is a custom but I honestly I don’t think he owns a single special anything
The dead guy poster is 100% the coolest thing he has, no wonder he’s so reverent about it 💀
As for fits this is all we’ve really seen is
So yeah Inko isn’t dropping stacks on merch, I’m pretty sure those sweaters were a 2 for 1 deal because they’re almost identical 💀

I've started to build a bookmark file of jobsearch sites to check regularly, and part of that is looking around at employers local to Chicago. On a whim I went to the careers site of one of the larger corporations headquartered here, and while I was poking around to see what kind of requirements they have for what kind of jobs, I came across the worst tabletop campaign ever:
We’re looking for a data product expert who’s also the ultimate puzzle/dungeon master. Your quest: work with a group of diverse stakeholders to discover key problems to solve and drive consensus, adoption of data standards. The treasure? A faster, more resilient and reliable data system...
That's terrible and funny all on its own, but it gets even better when you know what Large Evil Chicago Corporation I was looking at:
McDonald's.

isn't it weird how if you get up at 7 or 8, do your work all day, then have free time and go to bed at 11 that's absolutely fine
but if i said i get up at 10, do fun stuff in the morning then work in the evening and go to bed late, i could be called lazy, nevermind that i'm getting just as much or MORE work done as i would in a traditional work day

this one goes out to the other like, two or so nonprofit/adjacent folks in the fandom, but: presuming the Jedi are a nonprofit and also like, accept donations, what the hell does their development department look like. do they have Jedi major gifts officers, or are all Jedi also part of the dev department. do they have Jedi stewardship plans. is there a section of the shadows who are like, Intel officers For Missions but also sometimes prospect research, like, today they're hunting down info for a raid on a Hutt slave trading outpost, tomorrow it's a gala brief for master Getshella Dosh before zie goes to the naboo summit dinner?
also, what does their acceptable gifts policy look like. how much did they have to fuckin scramble when war broke out and suddenly surprise you can't take donations from zxy planets, I know we're 2/3rds through a century long major gift pledge from Serreno but we have to kill that right fucking now.

Mind you the CIA have admitted their involvement in the occupation of Palestine is also due to the patroleum resources in the Middle East that they didn’t want the Soviet Union (socialist opposition to the Capitalist hegemony) getting their hands on.
The Western (primarily United States) involvement here is just another example of Red Scare, the Capitalist regime’s attempt to suppress Socialist development, and to force the Arab world into submission to the Western hegemony. The risk of the most oil rich region of the world— the Middle East— falling into socialist and eventual communist hands is scary to the Capitalist…
Here’s the full CIA document if you’d want a read:
We’re gonna keep a copy of that incase it goes down.

original thief series basso & garrett :)
ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels
there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.
anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

i feel like part of this is another lesson in parasocial relationships. we in fact do not know the people we watch sometimes multiple times a week on our little screens or even the people we pay to see at live shows
