I’m thinking about the fact that sometimes reader sleeps with the silly family, like they just sleep over. Does Jake just place her on top of him and the kids just sprawl over her? (Look definitely got his tail wrapped around one of her limbs cause that’s his umma) is neytiri like laying on jakes outstretched arm with her hand on reader back while she’s sprawled out on her belly with her head in jakes chest(he places his hand on her ass. Pervert) like now I’m curious what the sleeping arrangements are cause I don’t know if the whole family still sleep in that large canapy when the kids got older or if it was when they were still little
i love this idea shgkshg
i think Omaticaya families probably all sleep together in a shared kelku home high in the trees when their children are young, like we see in the beginning of the second film! As the kids grow older, it's custom to expand the home further to give them more space.
so early on, when the kids are young, they definitely all sleep in one big pile. Jake has reader pulled on top of his chest (both because he likes her close and because he doesn't want any of the kids to accidentally roll on her in their sleep), and neytiri is curled into his side with her slender hand resting against your back.
lo'ak definitely tries to shuffle as close as possible to you, his tail wrapped around wherever he can reach. he loves holding your hand, too! it relaxes him when he feels your hands, so similar to his, pressed together. neteyam curls up against neytiri, but he likes to worm his little face in between you and jake sometimes, just because he likes to feel close to everyone all at once. kiri prefers her own space, and often squirms away from the pile of limbs to sleep on her own a couple of feet away. when she does sleep in the family pile, she sprawls just as badly as Jake does, her limbs all akimbo as she flops across her family
as the kids get older, that kind of communal sleep arrangement becomes a thing of the past. the kids become teenagers and need their own space - and their parents are grateful for the space, too! but that doesn't mean that you don't miss the familiar comfort of your little sleepovers with the family. as time goes on, when you stay over in the Sully family home you end up sprawled across jake and neytiri exclusively, occasionally joined by tuk
it doesn't even really occur to you that your little sleepovers are growing more and more intimate as the kids start sleeping in their own little areas! you've always slept with your friends like this, after all!

NAPOLEONE

not to encourage bad behaviour but more of you should try being drunk. life is so beautiful when you are drunk. i saw a throuple argue on a train and im crying about the beauty of relationships and how ill never have that but im so happy they do. i have to wait 30 mins for my train to the airport sans cigarette sans toilet break and im crying about how instant gratification isnt real gratification and the waiting is what makes it special. my friend sent me a picture of a canape she fashioned to look like a foot because i hate feet and im staying with her soon on said canape with the caption 'canapied' and im crying because shes so funny and i love her so much and i cant wait to see her again. be drunk maybe. the world is more beautiful that way. life is beautiful. you are beautiful.

Il Palio dell'Assunta (+ live link)
As mentioned in the Ferragosto's post (here), The Roman Emperor Augusto created this celebration to enjoy also through horses races. The Palio dell'Assunta (the prize for the race on the day of Our Lady of the Assumption), is an example of that habit that is still going on nowadays.
To be honest, there are two Palii dell'Assunta: - one is held on August 15th in Fermo, and it's the oldest historical reenactment of what used to be (based on written sources). It is also called the "Cavalcata dell'Assunta" (ride of Our Lady of the Assumption's Day), to differentiate it from the most famous Palio, and through it the city confirms its devotion to its Patron Saint the Virgin Mary. In this ride, each Contrada (district) of Fermo is represented by a horse and a jockey. The winner gets a very precious piece of fabric that is generally exposed somewhere important [more historical and collateral facts here and here]
-the other one is held in Siena every August 16th, and it's often broadcasted live on TV as well from the main square Piazza del Campo. It's basically a merry-go-round that jockers run (3 turns) on their horse. Here too each horse and jocker represent a Contrada of Siena, usually it's only 10 out of the existing 17 (chosen each year through a rotation mechanism). A "cavallo scosso" = a horse without its jocker -he fell-, can win a race = "carriera", and make its Contrada win). There are sources that state that since 1200, it's been held a horse race in Siena. Before the race, there's a parade in which take part all the citizens and city's representations, and the Contrade walk wearing their own signs and colours. Before the race, the jockers receive the "nerbo" (a crop made of an ox tendon) and go near the starting point = the "mossa". Now the "mossiere" (the judge, basically) gives the permission to the jockers to reach their position inside the "canapi" (two cords that helps the first 9 horses stay in line). The "cavallo di rincorsa" (the run-up horse, the last one), decides when the race can start by entering the "canapi". Ofc the jockers can ask others' help and the run-up horse usually enters when the main rivals are in a bad position at the canapi (and therefore it may take a lot of time before the actual race begins; the mossiere also needs to approve the race start; in some occasions it can be postponed to the following day). To be honest, Siena helds another Palio each July 2nd to celebrate the Madonna di Provenzano (the Visitation day, according on the old liturgical calendar). The amount of people and attention given to this celebration is always pretty huge, it brings lot of tourists and not just them in town (the preparation though, lasts the whole year but the closest 4 days are the biggest ones). There have been ofc critics because of the occasional cruelty of the race itself and accidents that occurred, not just to horses. [more history here and here; to watch it live, look on La7 since 4:45 PM (GMT+2) on August 16th -you probably don't even need an Italian vpn]

The hawk screams in the canapy of the oak. Below him, the cardinals flutter in fear and anger, calling sharp, staccato warnings.
God sent the rain and a moment of coolness. I baked the cookies and bacon, spreading homey delight with scent of relief.
Beauty is home, there to see if we only look up and take a deep breath.

This was a case of love at first site. Seungcheol was out on a stroll when he saw you sitting on a park bench. He knew he had to say something. He looked around and saw a man selling flowers out of a cart. He bought a single rose, writing his number on the tag. Mustering up the courage, he made his way over to you and the rest was history.
Seungcheol is in love with every aspect of you and your relationship. How you share the same humor and have dozens of inside jokes, how intelligent you are, how he can always depend and relay on you, the trust you two share in eachother, everything. Seungcheol loves taking you on weekly date nights, and monthly fancy dates.
On the weekly nights, he loves finding new and fun things to try with you. So far, you've done everything from brushing up on languages at the library to paint by numbers, pottery, and dance classes. On the monthly dates, he's taking you into the city to a nice restraunt. Seungcheol loves dressing nice and getting to hype you and your outfit of the night. After dinner, you like to take a walk downtown and admire the setting. There's string lantern lights hanging between the buildings, creating a sort of canapy. Pole lights are decorated with fake vines and different flowers and shrubbery line the road. It's like it's out of a story.
Seungcheol knows that he can always put his full trust in you, and you can do the same with him. You two know how to always have fun and plan the best trips with friends. You two have a gag also of buying matching shirts of the most ugly one you can find whenever you visit a new place, but he always makes sure to get a photo booth shot of you two to remember your time together.
♡♡
I hope you still see this anon! Again, I'm sorry for the delay. I don't have an excuse I just need to set reminders to get on here more I think. Anyways!! I made it a little extra delulu for fun and to hopefully make it up a little 😘 I hope you have a blessed year full of fun ♡

( beth ) woah! was that LINCOLN walking down main street? i heard they’re not actually from ivy cove but come from THE 100. they’re 31 and live in CORDOVA GROVE but watch out because they can be QUESTIONING + RESTRAINED but are actually CONCISE + BRAVE. despite them HAVING memories, you’ll always think of STRONG PROTECTIVE ARMS WRAPPED AROUND THE ONE HE LOVES, THE FIRST GLOW OF SUNLIGHT PEAKING THROUGH THE CANAPY TREES, ALWAYS QUESTIONING THINGS, A VISION OF PEACE BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE, NOT QUITE BELONGING TO EITHER CLAN when imagining them. / ricky whittle, he/him
