Arcane criticism?

Arcane is very tightly written, but there are a few contrivances or conveniences that impact the story.

In Episode 2, how Marcus finds the group is pure happenstance. Rather than a systematic sweep, it just so happens someone gets thrown through the window of their hideout, revealing them.

In Episode 5, Vi leaves Caitlyn to find Sevika. Caitlyn is preoccupied when Vi leaves. The brothel owner has zero reason to believe Caitlyn is friends with Vi or to tell her where Vi went. Caitlyn has no understanding of the Undercity's layout.

So Caitlyn appearing to save Vi is an issue because she shouldn't have been able to find them. The fix for this would be to have, as Vi leaves, Caitlyn catches her out of the corner of her eye. This would imply she left immediately and followed Vi.

In Episode 7, Jinx waiting on the bridge to see Vi and Caitlyn's goodbye is contrived. There are multiple bridges in/out of the city and she picked the one they used.

Caitlyn probably shouldn't have survived the bridge explosions, given her proximity to them.

The boy killed in the Shimmer raid being a Chembaron's son doesn't make much sense, given how he looks and his apparent role in the factory.

Arcane isn't perfect. But it is absolutely top tier. Despite the relatively minor flaws, it does a lot well with a lot of different moving parts.

What is it like where you live? How does it compare to where you grew up if it differs?

"My current apartment is pretty small. I rent the room above a coffee shop, so it usually smells pretty nice. I think most would find it too small, but I think it suits me well. Shelves add a nice bit of vertical storage space, even if I need to use a stool to reach sometimes."

"I do miss my old cottage back home. I put a lot into upgrading it, especially the kitchen. There was a full workshop and storage in the basement, a cozy study, a little garden out front where I grew herbs and reagents...but looking back, there were several rooms that I never used or were under furnished. It was just too much space for me. I keep trying to explain that to Miss Caitlyn, who gave me a room in her mansion. I could fit my entire apartment in those rooms."

"My old cottage was technically a magic space, bonded to me, so I could relocate it. I've been toying with the idea of folding it into my apartment somehow. But I couldn't decide on a layout."

Bc Finch has the unbeatable talent of making my brain come up with the most stupidly niche AU ideas: urban explorers AU.

Caitlyn is an urban explorer who has a yt channer where she uploads all the videos of her sneaking into abandoned buildings where she really really shouldn't go in. Her identity is almost completely kept a secret, for obvious reasons, if not for the few times she actually speaks in the videos. The only person who knows about this is Jayce, who always covers for her and if anyone asks, she was with him during one of her little trips.

They meet one day while Caitlyn is walking around an abandoned warehouse and Vi is running from the cops and decides that's a pretty good hiding spot. The first thing she sees of Cait is a gun pointing at her face (bc say what you will about our Cupcake but gun safety doesn't seem super high on her priority list).

Well after the meet cute of the century Caitlyn decides to help Vi hide bc she likes to learn the layout of places she's going to visit so she knows a lot of little nooks and crannies of the warehouse. They end up spending a few hours hidden together there to make sure the coast is clear, and in those two hours Vi has the sneaking sensation that she knows Caitlyn from somewhere.

Coincidence coincidence, Vi actually follows Caitlyn’s channel and recognizes her voice. Cait panicks. They come to the agreement that neither says a peep about the other.

They end up exchanging numbers and Vi is all "I owe you one so if you ever need anything, you know" and Caitlyn takes her up on that offer a few weeks later while she's planning to enter an abandoned hospital and having a second person with her would make everything a lot easier.

Bam. Urban explorer partners.

Caitlyn hummed softly and smiled at Miss T. "Always a pleasure to have you at the mansion. Come, sit," Caitlyn said, and waved her hand. "Don't mind the others, it become a bit more active around here since Panda's taken up other muses," Just at that sound, Ahri raced across the ground, chasing after the protector cat named Freya, who meowed in excitement at the playmate.

"As for your question, I think it's a nice theme. she's always preferred the more minimalistic themes, just enough to have links and visual pictures. From my point of view, it's very concise and to the point, and you can find all the information needed. No need to fancy it up anymore then it is, I think it looks really good," Caitlyn glanced over toward the others. "Anyone else have an opinion?"

Vi was digging into a hamburger and simply gave a thumbs up. "Et's Ate!" Vi muttered in mid-bite of her food and Caitlyn shook her head in amusement at Vi. Mel appeared to be settled on the couch, flipping a page on her book. "She managed to add in some gold, without it clashing with the purple and blue aesthetic, plus she even got a teal color in there," Mel hummed as she flipped to another page and kept on reading.

"Her carrd page is similar. Pretty straightforward but elegant. I like to think I have a little influence in that department," Caitlyn chuckled. "I do hope you can navigate both well,"

okay, so I am going to try and use the queue to the best of my ability to help with the layout of posting drafts. I'm thinking 2 a day, and then I will post ask as I feel or insta-reply if something is really tickling my fancy. I'm hoping this might help me better manage things as right now, I have 20 drafts in my drafts and 40 ask XD which I have no plans to drop anything XD

Currently, I have completely 10 drafts which are in queue, however I think I'm going to wait a day and see if I can do some more drafts before letting the queue run with posting that!

This Eddie set. The only reason it is my least fav is because I hate how it looks. I made it when I had a very bad flare up and was in a lot of pain, but I really wanted to make something. Looking back I wish the coloring was better and not that simple.

Oh man. @arthurpendragonns @meliorn and @anya-chalotra are maybe my biggest gif making inspirations. I love their gifs and they inspire me to keep trying out new styles with layouts and colors. Huge fan of their gifs I hope they know how amazing they are <3

9.) What/who inspired you to start making gifs

At the time super colorful and saturated gifs were popular and I loved them. I really wanted to learn how to do it! So I got PS CC for Christmas and learned how! At the time I made only bandom gifs so really what I listened to was my inspo. Thanks 2013 Tumblr!

June most popular — star wars + anakin/darth progression: ofc this is the edit with the most notes overall. hellsite pls never change lol favorite(s) — 1) doctor who + weeping angels: not sure what it about me and making my edits as complicated as possible because it becomes a whole mental marathon, with just me and my phone but im proud of this one; 2) vice versa + series trailer: ive repeated this sentiment in other posts so i wont go into it again here, but this edit will also be so special for me

July most popular — star wars + princess leia: hi, miss you space mom favorite(s) — vice versa ep3 + caitlyn siehl: i think of all the episodic edits, there’s only a fair few that doesn’t carry the flipped/mirrored text effect; all this to say that i am very happy how this one turned out, out of all the versions of the effects (PLUS this quote still makes me teary eyed in hindsight, ugh baby boi i KNOW what youre capable of I KNOW)

What? Who said I was copying them? I gave them credit saying that I got inspired by their layout and if they have a problem with me doing that to let me know and I will change it. And I did go to camp Lmao where you their? Cause are you trying to say I’m lying? And all of my stories that I have out are my original ideas (I’m literally going to school for film writing 😭) and if I make a story based off something like a movie or game or anime I put that in the bio like for my Caitlyn x Kakguri fic. And if I base it off a fic I read ofc I would credit the person who wrote that.

☾ * ── 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐄 wandered onto a crime scene that she needed untouched. Even a slight change in a scene could disrupt her process and take away vital clues that she needed. This killer had come unannounced, with no indication until a week ago. The first kill had been at a noble house, and now, this second one was in an alleyway. Yet it was expertly decorated like a painting, displayed with great effort to appear artistic in the most cruel vile way possible. So to find someone trampling upon her scene instantly set off warning bells in Caitlyn's head as the rifle was aimed true at the culprit. She didn't know if he was friend or foe, and she preferred to assume foe until otherwise known.

"What are you doing?" Caitlyn demanded, a growl against her lips. A warning, he stomped into her territory and she narrowed her eyes against him. His bold display of pressing his forehead against the barrel of her gun only made her narrow her eyes more, the feathers against her shoulders ruffled in aggravation as she placed her finger on the trigger. She would pull if he gave any indication to attack. Her sniper rifle was not meant for close firing but she would not hesitate to do so to protect herself.

"Jhin?" A name she hadn't heard but she listened to his words. Ocean-blue hues watched Zed, his bodily reactions, and the shift of his eyes. No lie. Slowly she pulled her rifle back holding it upward for a few more seconds before lowering it. "I know they don't, they easily stomp around my crime scene, just like you are now," She placed her gun upon her back though she did not take her eyes off of the man before her. "Did you touch or mess with anything?" She demanded, as she already started to take in the scene. The way the blood splattered upon the floor and the wall, the position of the woman and her layout, the way her body displayed like a twisted masterpiece of the crime scene. This Jhin wasn't even trying to hide, he had a grandiose display showing off the gruesome brutality of his murder.

She grabbed her notebook, flicked it open, and grabbed a pen so she could start to write down everything she noticed; even with an eidatic memory she preferred to have it all on paper.
