I know my experience is not universal, but I biked 5+ miles to do my errands today and I genuinely think we'd be much happier as a human collective if we increased residential density and switched to largely alternative modes of transportation.

Basically, I took a bowl of cereal upstairs to nom on before I carried the bowl downstairs and placed it on the kitchen counter. Like 10 minutes later while I was doing my own thing I suddenly remembered eating cereal upstairs but completely forgot about bringing the bowl downstairs so I just looked around my room like "what the fuck? Where bowl?" For a solid few seconds (maybe even a minute) before realizing that it was probably downstairs. Took me even longer (an extra minute) to realize how the bowl ended up downstairs.

my traditional dances course is like a medium walking distance away from my building and while thats not a problem on its own, it starts pretty late in the night and ends around midnight which means i have to walk alone for like 15 minutes in the dark through mostly empty streets and while at first i was unfazed by it im starting to get kind of paranoid and honestly im thinking of even dropping the course bc i cant handle the anxiety it gives me.and i dont know if im just being overdramatic bc this is a pretty peaceful and not "dangerous" city and ive never been in any kind of trouble before so i dont know why im so scared.maybe its my moms anxiety rubbing off on me but honestly the walk home today was absolutely nerve wracking i kept looking behind me all the time and when i got home i was sweating even tho its cold as shit idk.am i overreacting?

Memorial Ceremony for a Cabbie

Reese Lawhon was killed on the job on April 9th, 2023. In Portland it's customary to memorialize our drivers with a ceremony and a Taxi Cab Procession through the streets of Portland.

Reese was an artist and a musician who made his living by driving cab. In so many ways he epitomized with due grace, the artist who strives for his work while making a living in a Taxi.

Reese was one of us.
