Wait holdup what’s this about Howdy’s shop burning down and nearly taking him with it?? (talking about human au)

oh yeah lmfao it caught fire

it wasn't like... foul play or anything. in my mind it was some sort of electrical failure or bizarre accident. like a lightning strike! actually wait i like that lightning strike idea bc then it could be Raining for this very dramatic scene and i do love me some rain juxtaposing fire <3

and Howdy would've been fine! he got all of his employees and customers out of the building, including himself. he handed them off to Barnaby & Wally, who had been swinging by for dinner with fantastic timing (the fire department was just then arriving). then, like an idiot, Howdy went right back inside the Very On Fire building!

bc, ok, he lives in his store. specifically, above it. the ground floor is the store, then there's a staircase going up to an apartment. and naturally, Howdy was not gonna abandon all of his / the store's legal documents (also his coupon stash) to burn.

so in his mind he was like "yeah ill just pop in, grab these very important files, and then get out. easy!". babe, you're giving Barnaby & Wally a heart attack. that's what you're doing. dumbass (affectionate)

but yeah he's in there, in the burning building, smoke everywhere. meanwhile outside firefighters (and Wally) have to physically hold Barnaby back from going in after Howdy, even though a few more firefighters already went in to find him. its all very dramatic! blah blah blah the front door becomes unusable, blah blah blah the apartment windows explode due to thermal stress & also bc i want them to, etc etc

long story short the firefighters get Howdy out through the back, and mostly unscathed at that! ofc smoke inhalation is a thing, he's got some minor cuts and burns, but it's really not that bad! lucky bastard! he gets taken to the hospital to get treated & make sure he's fine, and he is.

naturally he stays with Barnaby & Wally for a while. he doesn't have a say in the matter lol he was planning on getting a motel room or somethin, but Barnaby picked him up from the hospital, took him home, and went "alright the guest room is ready for you we can go shopping tomorrow for anything you need, you live here now". good thing Howdy rescued his coupons!

the fire damage to the building is, thankfully, mostly cosmetic. it takes a while to clean & fix it, but Howdy has great friends and a wonderful community to help out! everyone chips in, some fundraisers happen, Wally sells some Darling™️ Exclusives™️, etc. long story short they get the store back up & running, and with some new bells and whistles to go with it!

#the scene is Very Vivid in my head #i had to sneak some action drama in there somewhere!!!!#what better than a building fire!! what can i say! im a sucker for the #'character watches person they love run straight into danger & is unable to follow them'#'and so is forced to watch in terror unsure if the loved one will make it out alive'#trope!!! its damn good!!! ill never tire of it!!!#the rain glittering in the firelight! the red-blue of emergency lights! glass raining down! wet pavement & black smoke!#its about The Visuals!!#i think my favorite part of the Brain Scene is when they get howdy out & he's like. half collapsed on the curb w/ an oxygen mask #and barnaby is Hovering! very freaked out but also immensely relieved! as soon as he learns theyre taking howdy to the hospital #he sprints to his car to go follow the ambulance!!#(in my mind julie eddie and sally had shown up & wally stayed with them to answer questions / keep an eye on things)#but yeah! drama Babey!!!#rambles from the bog #wh modern human au #i feel so bad for howdy lmfao #like... that store is his Everything and it got crispied. so did his home. and pretty much all his possessions #i also feel very bad for barnaby! he has a bad year bc of Two Incidents!#barnaby 'if one more person i love winds up injured in the hospital im going to Lose It' b. beagle #barnaby: well that whole fire thing was a disaster but we're all okay <3 with any luck there'll be no more hospital visits <3 #wally: im about to end this mans whole career-#ough and the arc of howdy living with them for a bit.... ougggghhhh #bc he & barns are in that 'our mutual feelings are unspoken but we both Know' inbetween state #its like a trial run for their future lmfao #except. a depressed trial run. bc howdy is very fucking upset about losing his Home & Possessions #a piece of the world he'd carved out for himself that was His and no one else's #he has a period of pushing through with an 'everything is fine i can work w this' pained grin and emotional avoidance #until obviously he hits a wall and Crashes. depressy spaghetti time!#he'll be fine but he doesn't feel like it for a while <3 good thing he's got awesome friends to keep him afloat <3

yeah rewatching 77 and ashton's insane chaos could be seen from a mile out from us (but probably less so from the cast). he spent a whole episode talking about how they should forgive stupid and dangerous choices and how he had to step up to protect them all and all but told fearne what he was gonna do. but being in the moment and not expecting it to happen, of course the cast didn't plan for that. but gotta love taliesin. knows how to bring the drama and the chaos and the consequences. big risk big reward babey!

I made a fan blog and started writing WWE fanfiction with my best friend in high school (which is why my ao3 username is ringsiderage and attempted eloquence is just a pseud lol) and yeah!! It’s got violence, it’s got drama, it’s got sexy people, it’s got complex storylines and character development and it’s fun! I spent a couple years actually training to be a wrestler and I’ve been lowkey yearning to pick that up again but I do value the structural integrity of my brain in the long run…….but yah that’s wrestling babey

If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in? i’d love to write the movie about his love story with his wife maria. i KNOW it. like i know exactly how it happens and there’s drama and twists and turns and LOVE. but since i most likely won’t get to write it into a movie, i do hope someday to write it as a fic and get it up on ao3. but yeah it would be a great movie. the poor street artist and the wild girl from the aristocracy. tale as old as time (wait a minute 🤔😉)

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character? SO MANYYYYYY but one i’m rather fond of is that he loves to cook/bake. i think he’s always had a knack for it and would often help his mother in the kitchen when he was a child. cooking is definitely one of his love languages and he absolutely loved making things for maria, both when they were courting and after they were married. i mentioned this here but when maria was pregnant she had very bad insomnia and also very wild cravings, but she didn’t know how to cook at All (she grew up with servants) so she always woke maurice in the middle of the night craving the silliest concoction of foods. maurice was so sleepy but he’d always make it for her <3 and of course he loved getting to share this love with belle. i always imagine belle being his little sous-chef when he’s preparing meals in their kitchen. it’s some of his fondest memories in that cottage :”)

What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot? well an easy one is 🎨 because he is, of course, an artist🤌 when i think of him i also think of gears and clockwork, since he’s introduced making a music box. i also think of his little glasses that he wears when he’s working on intricate details of his art pieces. OH AND HIS HAT! i’m not sure what symbol he would use. i think he likes floral patterns a lot though, and they appear in a lot of his art without him trying.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like? !!!!!!!!!! i sure do write for this character!!! here’s my series of him with maria and here’s my series when belle is a little kiddo and they’re in villeneuve :3 anyway, hm.

i think maybe my favorite thing to do is show all the ways he loves. like it’s so clear how deeply maurice loves. he’d go to the ends of the earth for his daughter, and he still clearly longs for maria all these years later. maurice is the type of man that, if you’re one of his people, you will forever be secure in that knowledge. you won’t ever NOT feel his gentle, but powerful love. i really love exploring his relationship with maria because of this, it breaks my heart but gosh it’s so sweet in the moment!!! i also love exploring his grief after losing her, whilst having to raise belle on his own. even in the midst of his devastation, his love for his family always shines through 🥺

i don’t really know how to answer the second part. what’s something i don’t like about writing him? nothing really. i mean i don’t love writing him so SAD but that’s LIFE, BABEY! and i do actually enjoy exploring the angst haha. but no i can’t think of anything really. i don’t think i’d write for him if i didn’t like writing him, lmao.

time to make that ramble post about my "greek heroes reincarnated as magical girls" idea. i was gonna make this neat and nicely typed out but fuuuuck that takes so many spoons

the basic set up of the story is that Athena tracks down the reincarnations of a couple of Greece's great heroes and slaps on them magical girl powers to take care of her foes for her. you know as you do.

the heroes in question (subject to change but this is what i got right now) are Odysseus, Achilles, Theseus, Perseus and Heracles (he's pulling a sixth range kinda deal. and is not actually reincarnated or anything cuz he's a god and shit. he's just pulling some shapeshifting to join in. as you do)

how much anyone remembers their original life varies. Odysseus remembers everything mostly because Athena shoved a whole time of memories in to his head. Achilles half remembers things. Theseus remembers enough to be mad that he's the team babey. Perseus remembers jack shit.

not totally sure WHO/WHAT the team is all fighting but it's probably people out to ruin Athena's shit which she can't have going on.

two of those people out to ruin Athena's shit is Ares and Artemis but we learn later on that they actually have a damn good reason for this but we don't have time to unpack all that.

the structure of this story is largely a mix of cool fights and slice of life funnies until the drama kicks in. as is normal.

and aaaa- yeah.

questionable quality summary of svern

heehee silly guy with problems

almost every mannerism he expresses is fabricated

his emotional experience is severely stunted and if he's not faking expression then he mostly just. doesn't express anything at All

the latter is an inbuilt feature, the former is a mechanism he developed to Fit In & Mask (which he does very well)

people still think he is a weirdo because he likes to act in ways that go against common sense, but now it's intentional so he enjoys it

absurdly smart and naturally gifted. bsders understand what I mean by this, normal people underestimate my intended scope

severely stunted emotional experience + very smart and good at things which he mostly doesn't value + people finding him strange & offputting, him finding people strange & stupid

= bored always, quickly achieves disillusionment and cynicism and struggles generally to find any value in life. therefore, nihilism

his paternal grandfather has the same issues as him and encouraged him to a) learn to act to deceive ppl (he didn't see why he should bother at first, because Why Should He Have To. seems like a them problem) and b) fake it til you make it (follow even the smallest impulse or thought no matter whether it's "real" in order to make life tolerable. search out whatever gives you some kind of feeling, real or fabricated, no matter how fleeting or temporary

besides being generally alienated and aware that people thought he was weird and creepy, which was annoying but mostly meh, babey svern was also bullied by an older cousin who is tentatively named luke but who I mostly just call The Asshole Cousin. this was not a single motivating factor for anything but did contribute as you expect and provided a source of ongoing drama growing up

for the next parts to make sense, I need to explain that he is (originally) a POKEMON OC, particularly with influence and inspiration from POKEMON RANGER SHADOWS OF ALMIA

not-so-babey svern (preteens and up) started taking advantage of the fact that he owned a ditto which could shapeshift into a copy of him and started running off looking for Excitement while his ditto covered for him. he hated his home life bc even after he started acting "normal" and people were less overtly weird about him he was resentful about the fact this was necessary :) and also he thought most of the people he was around were stupid anyways

girl your emotional walls are high and impenetrable and you trust nobody

also forgot to mention that he was a rich kid. this is kind of important for the general idea of his child/home environment oops

another very random pointless detail he really likes bugs

anyway fast forward to when he's a young adult and he goes to a certain region to study and because he's still bored as fuck he joins the local criminal organisation for funsies. under a fake identity ofc.

if you didn't realise already, "svern" is also not his legal name nor is his usual appearance how he looks as his """"real""""" identity

oh yeah he's also really good at parkour and he likes playing around with dressing in different clothes and dressing up and trying different hair and all kinds of things. wait what was I talking about

um. he joined this criminal organisation and ended up coming into contact with a Weird Fucking Rock that tldr is basically formed by a huge amount of accumulated negative emotions and which for some reason canonically has made a guy so obsessed with it that he dedicated his teenage son to it and changed his son's name in honour of it and spoke. very reverentially about it

The Rock is Weird and Causes Problems. the whole story of the game happens mostly because this rock is Weird and Causes Problems and has Effects on ppl. its name is the Shadow Crystal

anyway svern met the shadow crystal and also got obsessed with it because of the way the thing works. Hi Miss Em ! I just want to say that I read the new chapter and honestly I have never felt more frustrated with someone in a fic than now, like Viserys just pushed all of my buttons and installed a new rage in me I never knew I had. I truly resonate with Daemon's line and what a beautiful line to describe the whole feeling for half of the fic-

I honestly felt that pain when a parent/brother doesn't understand what your going through but somehow manages to listen and understand to everyone else.

After watching the show I finally understood who had attempted the murder of Babey and her babies. But to see that in this chapter and him being so smug about it pissed me off as well as Alicent's and Otto's highass ( sorry for my language but then again this is a Daemon series we're talking about )

Now I just want Babey and Daemon to leave and never comeback to these assholes, truly terrible people. I want Babey to get her Kepus , her good brother Laenor's and finally her elder sister's comfort, she needs to be wrapped in a blanket and given all the love in the world !

I'm thinking why don't we unleash Ulla, Daemon, Athfiezar together on King's landing, like let them just go mayhem on the whole place for poor babey. I'm also very happy that Blood and Cheese were introduced in this chapter ! This is going to be very exciting !

Hey, 🧇! Aaah, I’m so glad you enjoyed! How are you? I hope you’re doing well!

Yeah, Vissie T was a giant wad of dicks in this chapter. From a third-party stance, I do kinda get his inaction; he’s not just Babey’s dad, but the King of an entire continent. He can’t just arrest a dude based on the aggro say-so of his nutjob brother, let alone a member of his own governmental hierarchy. It’d send a really bad message to the Realm as a whole if he were to act without due diligence.

That being said, he is committing the very same mistakes Jaehaerys did; in continually upholding the Realm, he’s simultaneously ignoring or outright rejecting the needs of his own family. He’s caught between a rock and a hard place, unfortunately for him. As a Daemon stan, I hate his guts; as an objective party, I kinda get how he reacts in this chapter. It’s disappointing, but there is just more at stake than an 18-year-old girl’s feelings. Daemon has only very circumstantial proof; it might be enough for him to go on, but not the ruler of a nation.

LARYS IS A FREAK AND I STAND BY THAT. But yeah, I wanted him to be as creepy and inflammatory as possible so that Daemon would have an excuse to beat his head in. Luckily, Daemon’s doing his problem-solving and has got some very iconic peeps in to deal with the guy, haha!

Daemon and Babey and Daeron are getting the hell outta there, home to Dragonstone! She’s lost a bunch of support, but she’ll be gaining some too - that’s a part of growing up, I suppose. We realise how flawed our parents are, we cut out the people who aren’t good for us, and we reinvent our circle of peers. Babey’s pregnancy has disrupted the uneasy peace that has existed in the family - with each opposing side believing they have the political advantage - because what had just been a marriage is now an alliance bearing legitimate heirs for the Blacks side. Thus, the Greens are lashing out in panic, ergo the whole King’s Landing drama. Rhae’s gonna realise that her petty resentments are meaningless in the face of the larger threat, and we’ll get some sis reunion action soon! Yay for Babey reworking her circle. And I totally LOLed at the idea of Daemon, Ulla and Athfiezar taking down the capital - those chaos demons would vibe with that, haha.

i was going to ask whether you thought the newsreader would be worth watching for someone outside australia or is a lot of it based around plots you'd need australian cultural context for, but now i know anna torv and sam reid are in it i don't care because babey im putting on my alf stewart hat and getting to work

I know they are in other big things but yeah please watch The Newsreader. It is about Australia in the mid 1980s so you will hear stories that, if you aren't Aussie, are extremely foreign to you. But I recommend, regardless of whatever else you want to see the leads in, please watch The Newsreader at home and Google anything that's particularly confusing to you. It's one of the best Aussie dramas I've ever watched, if not THE best, and I want as many people to watch it as possible.

I absolutely loved loved LOVED this episode :DDDD. Dude, the ANGST 😭😭❤️❤️❤️👀!!! The drama, the searching, the referring to people as fiance 🥰🥰 (what I just love it okay xD), even Owen's storyline!! Especially the shortness of it XDD - no offense Owen. But I mean, we definitely got way more of the other one, as we should lol. I am glad there was another plot though, just because it would feel a little weird having an entire episode pretty much just following TK around. That makes it sound casual but yk xD. Also, it gives us time to stress lol, and makes it feel like more time has passed. Basically I just think it was needed for the flow :). Plus at least if Owen had to be not being there for his son, he wasn't stealing the spotlight XD. Anyway lol, absolutely amazing episode, just, stellar 😍😍.

Gasping shock from the promo and everything else and also just gasping in ~drama~ and like a billion things and all the feelings at once lol. I am not okay xdd.

But seriously for quite a while while (yes that's on purpose) I was catching up on my liveblogging I was like having shortness of breath man xD I was literally losing it lol

I still am but I'm gonna work on this for a little bit and then go eat dinner and take a break lol xdd. I do want to get it all done now but my hands and my brain (from having to word so much, and I don't mean that in a grammatically correct way, I just mean words man xD) are tired lol. Like I'm not out of words quite but I just feel like taking a break lol, since I was freaking out the whole time, during the episode (and typing for most of it), and I've been catching up for the past hour lol. So that's two hours of freaking out, trying to get everything, and stressing lol xD. So, I'mma do some of this (I actually already did and came back to add that I was unsteady since I meant to lol, I decided to say it here when it happened xD), and then come back later lol. I just need to destress for a bit I think, no matter how much I'd love to finish it now while my feelings are fresh XD. I need energy for the rest of the things I have to do tonight lol. But, I will be coming back :).

Now, onto the individual parts lol.

So xD. I think I'm just gonna do like, the 126, Grace, Owen (including O'Brien), and then of course Tarlos ft. Gabriel XDD. Alright, let's get into it lol.

The 126!! My babeys 🥰🥰🥰🥰. I loved them so much :'DDD. We didn't get to see much of them, but at least we got that entire scene with TK in the beginning 🥰🥰🥰. We got to see their siblingism lol, in the teasing aspect of that xD, but we also saw them supporting TK, which was really nice :'DD. Even a splash of Nanteo, lol xD! Plus of course Nancy and TK siblingism specifically 🥰🥰🥰. Anyway, we didn't see much of them, and I do miss them, but I loved this storyline (including in the past few episodes) so I'll allow it lol <333. And continuing on, despite the fact that we didn't see them much this episode, they were amazing :DD. I love them all with my whole heart 🥰🥰🥰. Oh and Judd I miss you 😭😭😭❤️🥰 XD. Luckily he will be coming back to us next week lol <333. Anyway, in short, I love them <3333.

Grace!! We love our girl 🥰🥰. She was amazing finding all the stuff on Carlos :D. Especially considering it was illegal xD. At first at least, but I assume it was still illegal later lol. Anyway, she was awesome as always 🥰🥰. Plus her comforting TK 😭😭❤️🥰 >>>. Like, that little "I'm sorry baby" or something similar 😭🥺❤️. Ik that's something she says, "baby" I mean, but it just :'))) she loves him your honor <333. Anyway yeah, her 😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️😍❤️. I love her <3333.

Owen! Owennn. My mannn. SIR. ANSWER YOUR PHONE WHEN YOUR SON CALLS!!! Okay like I know he was dealing with terrorism and the FBI and everything and I get that, and genuinely it is a good excuse lol, but I'm still mad xD. Still, it'll make for angst down the line :D. Anyway, besides that lol, I did actually really enjoy Owen's storyline today :)). I mentioned to someone earlier today how I was laughing a lot last week despite it being about a kidnapping, but that I'd probably be laughing less at this one (and that it was also a kidnapping lol). And I mean, I was, but I was still laughing lol xD. Besides panicked laughing basically at myself lol. Mostly going "I'M FINE :))))" with a bit of laughing xD. But my point is lol, Owen's storyline provided some laughs XD. Bc I mean, he provides some great jokes xD. Also, while I was definitely way more exciting for the other storyline's scenes, I still enjoyed Owen's :). Like I said earlier, it was necessary for the flow.

Anyway, YESS! I'm glad O'Brien isn't actually one of them - I don't think they'll pull another twist on us, so I think it'll stay this way lol. And even though it was funny sometimes, I'm glad we're done with the under-coverness. In and out and in and out - it's just simpler now. Now, I genuinely thought (or maybe I just hoped, but I think I thought lol) that they would be suspecting O'Brien and not Owen, but then that guy kept on talking lol. And honestly, c'mon Owen, the one time you don't wanna fight? But nah xD, it was the smart thing to do lol. I'm also glad that we're (or Owen is at least) getting along a bit better with O'Brien. It's not like we (why am I saying we lol) were necessarily on bad terms, but Owen and him were finding things in common, and honestly they've kinda been through it xD. I think he'll be useful in the future :). And I really do hope they find his nephew - and that he's not the bomb maker. But I wouldn't exactly be surprised if he is, you know? I mean, maybe I will be in the heat of the moment, depending on how much it was hinted at, but still. It would suck (like :( not >:/), but it would be interesting 👀.

Anyway, I'm a bit dreading the storyline of that person targeting Owen because of Owen being the center of attention, but also, I'm excited for it :). Especially since, even if they're not directly targeted for being related (not literally in all except TK's case) to Owen, the others will be affected by it too :). I'm assuming that's where the clip we've seen in promos of Owen warning people comes from, that whole plotline coming up. But, anyway, I'm excited :). And yes, these paragraphs are kind of short, because I ain't interested in having a repeat of last week lol. Anyway, lastly, I am glad Owen answered the first time TK called, and he did resist the FBI for a minute to talk to him a bit longer :). It still sucks he had to rush off, but I'm glad he was at least there for TK a little bit <3. I'm totally (as long as I have the motivation, and who knows if I'll finish it but I will definitely try lol) writing a fic about him listening to messages TK left him and losing it (not totally). Well, let's say being distressed lol. Anyway, despite all I've said about Owen here lol, I loved him <33.

Now. Finally :). TK and Carlos. A A A H H H H H H H H H H H!!! 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰😍😍💔💔❤️❤️❤️😭😭❤️❤️🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️. Okay, I'm good lol. Kind of xD. Anyway, I'll try and at least make this longer than Owen's - on principle lol -, but I don't have quite as much to say since I said a lot more about Tarlos in the moment than I did Owen lol. I'm trying to make my reviews a little shorter by not including quite so much of what I said in the liveblogs, more of my thoughts that I didn't put down (usually the more thought out ones lol), so it's a little easier for me to do them :). Motivation just be that way sometimes lol! Anyway :D. My boyyssss 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. But also. My boyyssss 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. XD. Anyway, I thought they were AMAZING this episode. And, just a quick note - UGH, the ACTING!!!!! SO. AMAZING. Thank you Ronen and Rafa 😭😭❤️ :) :D.

Anyway, this episode was DEFINITELY an angsty one - obviously - but it was so, so good :D. For them, I mean - it was in general but this ain't about that right now lol. Seeing all their emotions, really strong ones obviously, was just heartbreaking 😭. And, I was only just thinking about this, but they kind of paralleled each other. Obviously they're having similar feelings (like fear lol), but in different ways, because of their different sides of the equation. Plus, we haven't seen TK's anger in a while - besides the slight anger/the frustration with Iris -, and it was fuuun :DDD >:)). Anyway, just seeing how TK's emotions redirected into the anger, and Carlos's were forced to go into logical thinking. It was rough 😭. And also, that scene of Carlos seeing TK on the doorbell monitor? Wow, why don't you break my heart with a hammer already :'). Or that meat tenderizer Trudie used to smash carlos's phone :'D. Anyway XD.

TK obviously went through it this episode, but I mean. Carlos is the main focus of going through it here XD. They were both suffering and I'm totally vibing with the double angst but right now let's talk about Carlos since he was literally kidnapped, drugged, and almost killed lol. Also during the liveblog I was mostly just screaming, so I'm gonna differentiate some of my emotions here XD. Now, when Carlos was quiet (not quite submissive) or drugged it was awful, but whenever he was fighting back it was just viscerally uncomfortable. In a really good acting and such kinda way lol. Especially earlier on in the episode - by the time we was fighting Darryl at the end I was consumed even more by other things, one of which being "YES YES YES GOOOO CARLOS, SLAYYYY GO OFF, BEAT HIM!!!!" XD. But anyway, the entire time it was just so heartbreaking 😭😭❤️💔🥺. And Carlos saying that Gwyn's love passed through him because he had no idea how he could love TK that much? I just. Wow. I think he'd probably actually thought that before lol, not just coming up with it for Trudie's benefit, but even if he did, DANG. That is some powerful stuff xdd 😭😭. Also heartwrenching and heartwarming lol xD. Just emotional in general.

And now some on TK! Then a bit of Tarlos and then some less emotional plot stuff lol. Anyway, ANGRY TKKKK :DDD!! XDD But besides that, seeing the subtleties in his fear - the constant bouncing, the way he always looked like he was about to cry. Just, UGH 😭😭😭, so good. And I'm sure this experience will definitely mess him up - don't even get me started on how much this'll have traumatized Carlos - xd. Honestly if we don't get a lot of it in canon, I'm excited for the fics that explore Carlos and TK's trauma from this more :). Probably more stuff of dealing with it/having it brought or rise up than deep dives but those too lol. Even if we get a lot in canon xD. Anyway, lol. It was just heartbreaking to see TK unravelling throughout the episode; in scenes like him talking with Gabriel he's clearly trying to keep it together, but by the time we get to investigating he's really losing it. Just, UGH, so good :'DDD 😭🥰❤️😍.

Now that last scene - well, the last two actually, I'll include the ambulance/after scene lol. TK having to do chest compressions and save Carlos (well, hold onto him for a little :') ) was just 😭😭😭. And seeing Carlos try to focus on TK when he was still awake? UGH, 😭😭😭😭 so good. And AAGHHHH 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️. It was such an amazing scene but MAN did it hurt xd. Especially Carlos jumping away from them when he woke up 💔💔 <33. And after that, the conversation about holding onto his life :'DDD? And how TK HAS HIS LIFE 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️🥰🥰. Y'all it's over close it down it was all worth it for this xD. They're just so adorable and in love :')). Also, YESSS THE "ARE YOU GONNA RIDE WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND?" PARALLELLLLLLL!!! WHOOOO 🥰🥰😍😍😭🥳🥳🥳🥳😭. WE DESERVE IT XDDD. I will say again that it would've been even better (than 100% amazing) if it has been fiancé this time lol. Anyway xD. Oh and yeah I loved how much they said fiancé this time :'). Anybody <33. I just love acknowledgments of people's relationships okay :'DDD. But especially Tarlos being fiancés ;'))))). Idk why winky just because :D.

Anyway, plot wise I absolutely loved Tarlos in this episode. It was super interesting and obviously VERY tense, and the kidnapping (kidnappers, backstory, reason for it, etc) was actually very interesting. Not that I necessarily expected it not to be, but I didn't really think about it much lol. Also, I don't think any of us expected TK at the door xD 😭. Anyway, I also thought Trudie seemed in character the whole time with what we knew of her - she wasn't evil, and she believed in love (especially that of a mother and a son), so she let Carlos out. But she loved her son more than anything, so she protected him from Carlos. That's just the one example but yeah I thought it was really interesting, and really good :D. Also, TK working with Gabriel this episode? Obviously >>>>. As we all expected lol xD.

Now, for a quick look at next episode and after that: I hope we'll see Carlos next episode, and hear about his recovery and all that, but I think we'll see TK mention it but not actually see Carlos. I think it would be difficult to just have in one scene - like I said earlier, it's an important thing, too much to just put in a throwaway (not throwaway but I mean not one of the main plots of the episode) scene. I just think it would feel unnatural, but I don't know that we'll get a whole storyline on it next episode. And while I would absolutely love that, it makes sense. And it's been way too long since we've truly seen the others and they deserve some screen time :D. So, yeah, I think it'll get mentioned, and then in the next episode we see Carlos in/a few episodes from now we'll see some of the aftermath of this episode. See, I wouldn't be surprised at, say, a Carlos returning to work storyline in an episode (as in the one after this next one) or two, and having to deal with/explore some of the trauma through that. I mean the plot, but Carlos also having to deal with it lol. And obviously if something like that does happen we better have amazing support from TK <3. Anyway, I just hope (I know they will :'D) they support each other and love each other (not really a hope it's a fact lol), and they'll get through this :'D. Anyway, long story short, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH YOUR HONOR 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰😍😍🥰🥰🥰!!! Yeah, I love them <3.

Overall, I absolutely loved this episode. I adored it :D. It was so, so amazing, and once it's been a little longer I'll probably rewatch it - I don't rewatch full episodes a lot, and usually if I watch clips it's not angsty ones, but it can be. Anyway, for example, I haven't re-watched any episode this season yet, but I think I may rewatch this one this week. If I can clam down enough lol XD. I'm still tense just thinking about it, writing this. Plus from something else I was watching, but that's besides the point lol. Anyway, obviously I loved the kidnapped plot this episode, but I really enjoyed Owen's too :). Especially since it'll apparently play into the angst we see for TK and Owen in the future :D. Which, I'm glad was directly addressed (well, seen by us lol, addressed by the show, not characters) this episode. Usually it's tiny things or things we just assume, and I imagine some of which will be brought up in that future storyline, but today we saw TK outwardly bothered by it :). Very interesting! Not confusing though, it definitely makes sense lol. Anyway! I loved seeing a bit of the 126 - the scene they were in was great lol -, though it was odd to see TK mostly doing this on his own. He wasn't, but he also wasn't interacting much with the others. This episode felt like it was literally following TK, Carlos, and Owen. Luckily for the episode Carlos didn't move much lol. . . . sorry lol XD. Anyway (also yes the period and then separate ellipse was on purpose lol), it was really cool :D. Just odd how, maybe because he wasn't at work, we didn't see any of the team's reactions to everything going on. Certainly interesting. Also, I live in FEAR of the next episode 😳👀. I think the ending of the promo there is a red herring, an in the moment kind of association - I don't think it's Marjan leaving, I think it's probably Owen or O'Brien, maybe one of the other gang members. Also I doubt Marjan will really leave, or at least not for long (if it lasts for multiple episodes I'll die <3), but I am still very much in fear :'D. TK looks way too at peace in that last shot (or one of the last shots anyway) for Marjan to be leaving though xD. But yeah, it looks super interesting and I'm excited to see that big fire, and why everything that happens happens :D. Anyway! Back to this episode lol :). Grace was also amazing, I'm interested to see where Owen's storyline is going since while it closed a chapter, it's the only storyline from this episode that's actively continuing (we're sure to see aftereffects of the other one), I'm so glad Carlos is okay :'D, and all in all I just thought it was a super great episode :DD. Very emotional 😭😭, super dramatic, and had some comedy bits xD. I LOVED it 🥰🥰🥰😍❤️❤️.

Okeydoke. CM 16x09 "Memento Mori". What delights and disappointments do you have in store for me...

Spoilers etc etc etc under the cut.

I've been rewatching season 3. It feels like such a different show. I think the impact of the shake up of producers and cast that happened in season 5/6 cannot be overestimated. And of course with this new season they've actively tried to make it a different iteration. But yeah...the creative vision or whatever shifted a lot over its original run.

Anyway.....back to the matter at hand...

For the record, I think Emily made a calculated risk/decision to send PG into the field with the rest. Perhaps thinking she would be uniquely situated to convince/keep Tyler out of the way. Meta-wise, it was necessary to then place JJ/Will and Luke/Garcia in the same frame on the jet. I'm sure that was no accident.

Thinking about Luke compared with Derek. Derek would have pushed back on a statement like that from PG. Luke, bless him, does not push back because he's got more at stake emotionally / is wounded by it. But a statement like that from PG needs pushback, especially if you're trying to redefine the relationship.

I quite enjoyed this episode. I liked the directing, though I would have preferred the flashbacks in color. There were some really nice shots in there. A lot of backstory snippets. I wanna know more about Tara. What prompted her to go to Al-Anon, years after her marriage broke up? Does that have anything to do with the toning down/disappearance of her swagger? As for Garvez - I don't feel the same level of upset over how this has played out, but I think we're headed toward a reveal of Luke's deeper feelings and some kind of reckoning. And while it's not necessarily *fun* to watch Garcia make these choices, I am not convinced this was a completely bad decision storytelling-wise. I know, I'm in the minority there. Let her fuck up! Let her be unlikable, selfish, blind. I guess what would disappoint me the most is if there's no turn in this story, no real consequences or accountability. We'll see.

Favorite scene hands down was the angsty grocery shopping. What can I say, it gave me life.
