BnHA Chapter 311: Hand Gun

Previously on BnHA: Horikoshi was all “thinkin’ about dropping in some woke analogies of the very real and very presently relevant issue of racial profiling idk what do you guys think” and then shrugged and did it without waiting for an answer, and ngl it was a bit sudden, but I’m here for it. All Might was all “DEKU YOU NEED TO EAT” and Deku was all “OKAY” and took his hero bento and went to go stand dramatically on a tower in the rain whilst having some highly anticipated Vestige flashbacks. OFA II was all, “sup, I guess I’m not Kacchan... OR AM I,” and ngl I think he is?? Alternate universes anybody?? Hello??? But anyway, so OFA the First a.k.a. Yoichi was all “remember that time you guys rescued me from my evil brother and Two took my hand and we Had A Moment?”, and Two and Three were all “ahh yeah good times”, and it was very nice and very, very gay. The chapter ended with it being very unclear if Two and Three have actually lent their power to Deku yet or not lmao. Y’all need to get your shit together dudes.

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “what if I gave a random bad guy a fucking tommy gun that shoots nails” and jesus christ calm down son. The Hawksquad, a.k.a. SQUAWK as per @hotchocolatier, are all “time to drive aimlessly around town acting like Deku has a restraining order on us because that’s literally the best plan to combat the League we could come up with,” and I have no further comment. Hawks is all “idk about you guys but I want to know more about AFO and Tomura’s whole deal” and I can’t remember the last time I identified so strongly with one of these characters. All Might is all, “[EXPLODES???]”, and the chapter ends with that mysterious hot girl from the Tartarus breakout being all “HELLO I CAN TURN INTO A GUN AND I LITERALLY DON’T GIVE A FUCK” and (1) WOW, and (2) IT’S TRUE, SHE CAN, AND SHE REALLY DOESN’T. GODDAMN.

(ETA: so this wholly escaped my notice on the first go, and also has nothing to do with the chapter itself, but I only just realized that this chapter was scanlated by a new group, TCB Scans. they actually did a very good job, and I’m curious if they’ve found a new RAW provider, because the quality this week is actually crazy good in comparison to what we’ve been dealing with for the past few months. I’m gonna have to get caught up on what exactly happened here lol.)

Hey, I hope you are doing good this was a thing that was wondering me so there are lot of bts future spouse /soulmate/twinflame videos being made on youtube and honestly everyone is being psychic like it has become a shitshow and what was previously just for curiosity fun and entertainment are becoming extremely emotionally invested in the topic especially for maknae line soulmate it would be interesting if the can do a tarot reading or your spiritual experience why is the future spouse saga turning ugly and does universe what us to know something through it !? Because it's becoming pretty crazy right now

Okay so I believe that yes, the spiritual part has a lot to do behind this occurrence, but I also think its roots lay on psicosocial matters and honestly I could go on for days about this but I’ll try to restrict it to a few points that you’ve mentioned

Why all of a sudden everyone seems to be tarot readers/astrologers/psychic?

The capitalism behind celebrities and how does that play a part in what is going on?

Are these people accurate at all?

How does energy shifting play a part in this?

Is the soulmate journey even something a third person would be able to note?

But first a Disclaimer: this opinion/rant is based on my experience with spirituality, I am obviously a mere mortal, so I do not hold the absolute truth. Spirituality is a constant learning process and it is open to discussion and interpretation of each person. I am also now a proud sociologist graduate that specialises in a lot of the stuff that has to do with what anon is asking, I’m a social behaviouralist applied to the entertainment industry as well but I’ll also provide my resources in the end.

A/N: Some of you might not yet be ready to read all of this, if I see ANY of you trying to start beef with me, even after the disclaimer, I'm gonna block you. If you want to talk more about it or want to discuss it further, DO SO OFF ANON. ISTG you’ve been warned, I’ve been working on this for the longest time, it even has resources to back all of it up! I’m so glad anon asked, I’m done being diplomatic on this topic (I know people that usually ask stuff are so respectful and i love you guys for it, this note is for those people that regularly jump on my asks to stir things up)

You guys are in for a whole academic article if you decide to read this

SO FUN AND EXCITINGGGG Let us start with behavioural economics as our base to understand the whole phenomenon, it's such a broad and kinda complex concept (especially since I’m trying to extrapolate it to this particular scenario) so let me do my best. It has a lot to do with trend following, although at least to me, it's unclear how exactly this content came to be (soulmate readings, channeling messages, etc) I am guessing it had something to do with an intersectionality between the general spirituality boom that we’ve met with during the pandemic and some person that just as any other marketable opportunity, saw a bridge between fandom life and this spiritual life (both prominent trends in the last two years or so) and honestly, it worked perfectly, whatever their initial intentions were, they threw out a new “product” and it kind of sold itself, two different trends coming together… turned into a behavioural game theory where if you played the part that allows your content to be consumed, you’ll get rewarded for it. In more simple words, tarot meets fandoms (alternatively, tarot meets BTS) is great as it is! but the fan behaviour (which we’ll talk about in a bit) positions the most private parts of the celebrities’ lives to be much more interesting than things that we are already able to see (personal experience, love readings do so much better than idk career readings and it all comes down to behavioural trends of perceiving ‘love’ as something very intimate)

Now, this is where we’ll begin to talk about capitalism as a whole, even in non-monetary systems like social media, where it takes more of a rewarding system via likes, views, reblogs, etc. The whole principle of us living in such a system is being aspirational, we see others profiting off of something, we might want to reach out and do the same so we can profit ourselves, which honestly, I think is what happened with the whole BTS soulmate readings boom, they get a lot of attention, and as a basic market law, as demand goes up and a few people that initially did these readings are no longer capable to satisfy the need of the people wanting to know all the tea, there are market opportunities for other people to do the same thing and increase the offer, although since this whole theory is behavioural, it is very context-dependant, which ends up not following the principle of the consumers being rational about how much and what content they consume, they just sort of consume all of it, regardless of whether the content creator is qualified to offer such content or not, which ultimately only adds onto a never ending cycle of more people claiming they are tarot readers/astrologers/psychics and fear nothing because this is the internet, you don't really have to enter any qualifications to be able to create content, whether someone is reliable in internet terms is basically all about how many likes they’ve got (which is why I always tell you guys to please consume content responsible).

When it comes to accuracy- I guess that’s the hardest part of all, we can’t just have pointers that would automatically tells us if someone’s craft is valid or not, since everyone’s craft is different all craft is valid to a certain extent (you can easily find scammers of course but that’s another story) what we can have are personal standards and deciding what content to consume or whose content to consume, but that’s entirely a personal decision and since so many people are invested in it- it seems really hard that these “market tendencies” might change any time soon. On that same note of accuracy, I really feel the need to talk about a major occurrence I’ve come across in this whole soulmate scene, minors. Now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a minor and approaching spirituality (I was very much a minor when I started) but there’s a huge difference between just playing around and deciding to create content for the whole world to have access to. Of course I’m aware not all tarot readers in the BTS fandom are minors, and ARMY is very diverse and even if they were only minors it would be wrong to invalidate them, but we can’t ignore the statistics of it when touching this particular topic, according to 2020 data, 50,31% of ARMY are below 18 years old, and 42,59% are between 18-29 but why is this important? because the exact historical and economic moment we are living in mainly impacts these two age groups, thus making all 92,90% of ARMY a potential target to consuming or falling in a behavioural game theory of creating this content without them necessarily being qualified for it. But hey, why do you keep talking about the importance of being qualified? Glad you asked, creating spiritual content all comes down to one amazing term: accountability.

And this will explore two main phases of it, one applicable for that 50,31% that could potentially be drawn to create spiritual content and other for the 42,59% that could potentially be dragged to creating that content without much spiritual knowledge. For the first one, it has a lot to do with cognitive aspects, young people tend to do stuff without much further thought about how their actions impact other people, which, as they should, they are kids, they shouldn’t have to worry too much about emotional responsibility as us adults do, furthermore, they are in life stages where they can’t really comprehend many abstract concepts that we later learn in life, and spirituality is one of those concepts, so they tend to just have fun with it with no regards on how their content might impact other minors (this is where the whole feeding a false scenario that is potentially delusional in exchange of more views, likes comes into play) on a more spiritual level, they also aren’t able to comprehend the boundaries of the celebrities they’re reading for, us readers have to always be careful about the information we give out since it is not ours to give. As for the second group, some of this is still applicable since theorists consider a full cognitive maturity until 23 years of age, but since it is very intersectional itself, i would found it more to a spiritual responsibility, since they are young adults, and if they haven’t been spiritually guided as kids, they’re most probably eager to learn and just awakening yet to some of them the drive to this spirituality is content creation instead of inner work, so they get their hands on a tarot deck, might kind of read a few things, call it a day and start reading for BTS (note: not all of them, I’m aware)

As for the maknae line being the most sought out people with this content, I guess it kinda makes sense now that I’ve said all of the information above, maknae line is closest to the age group of 92,90% of ARMY, so they instantly become more marketable to this content creation and the whole Game Theory that we are seeing. With all that being said, and just adding a note coming from my own spiritual experience, soulmates in any form are a difficult topic for a third person to prode, which is why I, personally, tend to not touch that topic, love is one hell of a concept, especially since we all have different conceptions of love and interpersonal relationships. I do know for a fact that there’s only so far we can go in terms of fated connections, like with astrology, but even then, we would have to know their birth times exactly (so we can check for any indicator or a soulmate connection), and/or compare BTS with the rest of the world’s population in order to accurately tell if someone has a soulmate synastry/overlay/composite with them. Also, soulmate journeys are intimate and we are all just fans, what right do we even have to look for things that do not and will never belong to us?

This is why I’m always telling you guys to PLEASE consume content responsibly! Really! Us content consumers also have our part to play that can help us get more accurate, more drama-free content

but no okay the show kept saying that the first ones were basically - etheria's first settlers or whatever the hell right?? something along those lines? am I remembering this correctly? that's why the etherian's CALL them the first ones? (I mean but Prime did too didnt he now that I think about it. I'm not sure why he would though, the context for why the etherian's would use the term and why he'd use the term are different?) ugh whatever, like I said I gotta go back and comb through but I wanna say that the implication was that the first ones were the...First Ones to be on etheria. which is like....??

Mm... it’s a bit unclear, but Mara speaks in a way that highly implies that there are native Etherians already on Etheria when the First Ones arrive. One of them being Razz.

I doubt that Etherians really know much about their own history; their records seem sporadic to me, so they may or may not know that the First Ones weren’t actually the first sapients on the planet.

And Prime doesn’t really call them the First Ones; he simply acknowledges that that is what Adora and the Etherians call them. I don’t recall him calling them anything specific.

bc then when it comes to the whole, heart of etheria thing, and the runestones, and all of that? and then the princesses? I'm honestly just so confused as to how it all is supposed to fit together. bc then uh where did the five royal families come from to begin with? were the runestones there from the start? were those five families magically connected with those runestones from the start or were they only connected and whatnot after the first ones were all like "hey so uh, if you synch up to this rock you can do cooler magic" but then if etheria was already being ruled by several different courts of elemental royalty or wtf ever, then they couldnt really call themselves the first ones. but Also it's just (and I think you've addressed that the showrunners seem So Much More Interested in telling the catradora gf drama angst saga then fleshing out their world building lmao) it's kinda just like... why do all of these families only have one child? why do each of the princesses of power not have a sibling? like what if - considering mooooost of them seem to be orphans lol - one of them trips down the stairs and smacks their head on the floor and dies?? I guess uhhh, now your kingdom doesn't have a ruler??

So, my understanding of the runestones is that they were devices created by the First Ones in order to enhance and better control the magic of those naturally in tune with certain elemental aspects of the planet. I don’t think this is explicitly stated in canon, but I assume as much by extrapolating from the purpose of She-Ra’s sword. As we learn over the course of the show, the First Ones did not create She-Ra, but they did create the sword. She-Ra is an Etherian entity, some form of planetary guardian or what-have-you, and the First Ones created the runestone sword in order to control that entity and incorporate it into the Heart of Etheria. I would assume that the other runestones serve a similar purpose.

Now, as far as our current Etherians not knowing this: this is a fairly common sci-fi trope. The idea of the original purpose of something (usually some form of advanced tech) being lost as information is lost to the ages is often used to facilitate protagonists not immediately knowing what a thing is for. Like... oh, if you’ve ever read the Dragonriders of Pern series. That’s a good example: Earth colonists land on a planet, find it inhospitable, genetically engineer empathetic dragons to help fight the threat, and... well, people live there for generations, forget their origins, regress technologically, and just assume that there have always been dragons on Pern.

As far as single child Princesses and whatnot: likely a by-product of the show already having a million characters, and siblings not being needed for the plot! I mean, the show already had enough to deal with; no need to add more fluff.

and yeah it's a kids show but it doesnt ;__; none of the any of it makes sense to me.

what is the Heart of Etheria even supposed to Do again??? like we know it's a superweapon that channels magic and like, Mara trapped etheria in despondos 1000 years ago so my soft theory is that the first ones were maybe using it as a last ditch effort against Prime? I mean is the sword just.... gps coordinated to fire at prime regardless of where he is in the universe or whatever?? bc I mean at that point is prime on etheria's doorstep?? I don't! I dont understaaaand.

Well, since it never fires, we cannot know for certain, but Death Star-style planetary destroyer seems logical.

I do like the headcanon that it was actually a last ditch effort to defeat Prime, especially since we now know that the First Ones fought him and apparently lost!

This is an interesting concept to me because, while their colonization of Etheria is widely regarded as Bad, because colonialism is Bad, the idea that they did it in order to try to save their own lives, and potentially the lives of others in the universe, makes the situation far more morally grey than it might initially appear. Yes, their colonization harmed the Etherians, but might it have been worth it, if they had succeeded and killed Prime a thousand years ago? Would that have prevented the genocides he committed on other worlds? Would sacrificing Etheria have been worth it if, say, a thousand other inhabited planets had been spared as a result? Not a set of questions the show asks, but meaningful ones, in my opinion.

why does Prime want it? like is he not under the impression that messing with it is gonna like... pretty much blow up everything within a big ass huge af radius? he said something or other about purifying the universe and starting over or some nonsense like that but??? like you'd be dead too my guy. you might be egotistical and narcissistic and vain af but I dont think he's that stupid as to think he's somehow immune to giant fricken explosions.

Oh, I think he has some idea of how to survive it. He can body hop. He is, in some sense of the word, eternal because of that. If She-Ra hadn’t stepped in, he likely would have succeeded in continuing his existence. The way he speaks, one may even infer that this sort of thing has happened before.

But, hard to say! Thankfully, we don’t have to find out c:

Going off @hethrewmyheartinthecut and @deadendtracks posts about Lizzie, I wanted to explore the topic of sex work in of itself in Peaky Blinders, and specifically Tommy and Lizzie’s relationship to Lizzie’s sex work, and how the show has Tommy be unhesitant to utilize women *as* sex workers when a job requires it and acknowledge sex work as a part of the world they live in, a part of both the dirty underworld and the poverty of Small Heath, while also having him look down on sex work itself outside of its immediate utility to him (as a client or as part of his plans).

It’s unclear in season 1 if Tommy hadn’t needed to mend things with the Lees by offering up John’s hand in marriage if Tommy wouldn’t have deliberately inserted himself into John’s plan to marry Lizzie by propositioning her and catching her out when she agrees to it, after she said “the past is the past” and that she didn’t want to lose John. But it’s also clear that the fact that she *was* a sex worker, even if she intended to stop (and someone who Tommy himself had slept with in that context) prejudiced Tommy, and Arthur and Polly, against her as prospective bride to John. That the fact that Lizzie agreed to sleep with Tommy one last time for money means she doesn’t “really” love John, because if a woman loved a man, she wouldn’t continue having sex for money, even if that’s how she’s been earning her livelihood all this time and presumably had no other options available, even though Lizzie’s decision is both practical and desperate - it’s practical because in what universe do you turn down eight pounds when you’re poor as dirt and it’s desperate because Lizzie isn’t thinking about the future per se where she’ll be married to John and financially secure, she’s thinking about here and now and she needs to eat now, and so she continues to see other customers, “to keep the wolf from the door”.

None of which the show presents as “understandable” or “the other side of things” - the viewer has to do the work to understand Lizzie’s actions because even as the show allows Lizzie to yell at Tommy afterward for what he did, the show nevertheless affirms that, after John found out the truth and was upset over it, that Tommy was right to do it, and that Lizzie wouldn’t have been a good match for John.

In season 2, he continues to see Lizzie and pay for her services until he offers her a job as his secretary and tells her she can stop all the other work too “this time, no exceptions” - deliberately calling back to the last time she was going to stop seeing clients but accepted his proposition, but also identifying himself as the “no exceptions”. A command he has Lizzie break the moment he needs her to distract Field Marshall Russ to carry out the assassination. Again, the show lets Lizzie be angry and bitter that Tommy is reverting her back into a sex worker when she didn’t want to, but, as you said, never implicates Tommy as having done the wrong thing for using Lizzie to kill the field marshal and putting her in harm’s way such that she was beaten and almost raped, and as @marsza and @hethrewmyheartinthecut have said, the show doesn’t give Lizzie the space to reckon with the aftermath of it all the way it did with Polly.

(With Grace at least, Tommy went back for her - he dared to upset his plan to woo Kimber and and get him to agree to do business with him to rescue Grace from his clutches. But then again, he was falling in love with her, and Tommy was never in love with Lizzie.)

Tommy’s aversion to sex work as a profession (apart from when he’s utilizing the service himself) is IMO largely in the context of respectability and moving up - Lizzie was an unsuitable wife for John both because she continued to see clients and because the fact that she was a sex worker to begin with would have made their marriage a laughingstock. (Tommy, Polly, and Arthur’s first reaction to John’s announcement is to snicker uncontrollably.) And when she becomes Tommy’s secretary, he orders her to stop his sex work because she won’t need to anymore, the implication that she’ll be earning enough money and she’ll be working a respectable job. And she does become a woman of (relative) class with a high position in the company come seasons 3 and 4, to the point that Tommy pulls a “not like the other girls” on her when she tells him that nice girls aren’t sex workers and he says “you were”. It’s also why in season 5 when Mosley threatens Tommy with Lizzie’s past and propositions her, Tommy tells her she may know him from “before you became who you are” - Lizzie has elevated in status alongside Tommy such that her past is as a sex worker really is that now - the past. The past has finally become the past. And it’s also part of why in that moment Tommy tells Lizzie he’ll kill Mosley if he lays a hand on her, because Mosley is threatening to make her past become the present again.

(That moment in season 5 when Tommy tells Lizzie he still pays for her in his head is IMO not so much an instance of his specific hangups with sex work and more him lashing out in general, since in that scene she’s threatened to leave and reminded him that she now has almost as much power as he does over the house, the finances, and the kids by virtue of being his wife, and so Tommy, feeling threatened, attempts to undercut her. (This scene also includes Tommy’s crack at Lizzie that she couldn’t spell in the letter she wrote to him, which still makes no goddamn sense - she was his *secretary*, for years, presumably she was a decent speller after all that time??? Maybe that was meant to be another indication of Tommy’s poor mental health, but idk it didn’t make sense to me.))

It’s also season 5 where IMO the show finally allows Lizzie to use her past as a sex worker as a fact, as a part of who she is and was, without being a source of shame, and in some ways as a source of power - specifically in episode 3 in which Lizzie tells Tommy she’s decided not to file for a divorce, that since he says he still pays for her in his head, she’ll treat their marriage as the transaction it is - she gets financial safety and security and privilege, as well as sex with Tommy, he gets (from her perspective) whatever it is he gets out of his marriage to Lizzie - power? control? familiarity? a mother for his kids? Regardless, if Lizzie is still Tommy’s sex worker, then he will have to pay a price (that he doesn’t fuck anyone in the house or soon after being with the kids and he lets her into his head sometime). Everything is for sale. She is always for sale. By season 5, she may have become respectable, she may no longer fuck men for shillings, but she’s decided to once again make Tommy pay for the privilege of having her in his life.

I’m not sure how to wrap this up, but suffice to say, the show doesn’t do right by Lizzie as a sex worker in seasons 1 and 2 and Tommy doesn’t do right by her in that context pretty much all the time - even when Tommy develops IMO a genuine fondness for Lizzie, he still uses her on an emotional level without reciprocating or minding the feelings she has for him. The show falls down in that it fails to write Lizzie as a sex worker outside of being specifically Tommy’s sex worker, and so every bit of her sex work in seasons 1 and 2 is processed through Tommy’s POV, which is in turns uncomplimentary or pragmatic without much care for the consequences to Lizzie. Again, season 5 is the only season where we see her relating to her sex work through her own lens and not Tommy’s.

Ozmafia Thoughts

I posted a whole thing on my main but now that I’m using this blog for all things otome, I figured I would try to organize my thoughts because i have so many thoughts.

This is not spoiler free! But I try to label some of the major spoilers.

Caramia

Caramia is the don of the oz family, and it’s his duty to protect his territory, the people who live in his territory, and to sign papers for stuff? Man’s is always signing papers for mafia reasons :) I knew from the start that he would be my favourite. I just love a guy who’s nice. Call me basic, but I just love a man who wants me to be happy and takes cares of me? I love feeling like someone cares about me! He’s also a great cook, and who doesn’t love delicious food? Idk how to explain how I feel about caramia, I liked his personality but I didn’t love his story? I really felt like there was some distance between Caramia and Fuka, like he was in a whole nother world from her. Which you do get to chose whether she’s happy he’s in charge or like she feels lonely. I did however really liked his transfer routes. I did the axel to caramia transfer first, and I felt like it wasnt clear that they slept together, but after I did caramia to axel and I got hit with that axel CG! Anyways, I liked the transfer routes.

Kyrie

I knew I would hate this guy so much. I’m just not interested in a guy who’s a fucking tease. Like he openly admits that he likes it when you’re upset. Like I do not want that TYVM. I found him kinda tolerable in his transfer routes however, probably because he does have to try and make Fuka happy in order to get Fuka to break up with her boyfriend. He really said break up with your bf i’m bored! Also I felt it was kinda weird that he was paying for Fuka’s br*th*l visits. I think its kinda weird that he introduced her to it, and was like encouraging it. ESPECIALLY*** (major super duper spoiler here what will be censored lol) if he thought she was *****

I saw some people argue that he might not actually love fuka, but I think that one transfer route ending, kinda shows that he really does love her IYKYK. but i’m so sus about that ending where he becomes a dumbass, i really think this bitch is faking it! I do not believe him for a second!

Axel

I quite like Axel. I personally don’t mind when a guy is at this level of over protectiveness. Plus as I have mentioned, i just love it when a cold guy is soft for you. I absolutely adore that shit (like when he ask Fuka to treat him as an equal and drop the honorifics? that shit gets me T_T) He also gets extremely jealous very easily, which becomes an area of conflict for him and Fuka and it is up to you whether you wanna forgive him or move onto another guy. Personally, I would forgive him. I would talk to him about it! But I could understand being in your first relationship and not being able to handle your emotions. I think Axel is quite sweet, and he just wants the best for fuka, which is cute.

Scarlet

IDK how I feel about Scarlet, specifically the part where he straight up states he’s a minor! Like what’s up with that? Why couldn’t he be older? However, I did really enjoy his route. It’s super cute and slow burn-y and nothing romantic actually happens probably because he is a minor. Scarlet is kind, resourceful, caring lol. We always love a guy who’s trying his best to keep the peace among everyone, while still providing for his family.

His route also has a bit of plot. It shows what hamelin was like prior to a specific event that you learn about in robin hood. I dont have a specific order that I think this game should be played but it might be interesting to maybe play scarlet’s route after robin hood.

Caesar

As I’ve said before, I don’t mind a man who’s trynna kill me. Idk what’s up with that LOL. Well maybe I like how you can see them change from wanting to kill you to not...wanting to kill you. One thing I remember liking about Caesar was that he usually called you a woman, as opposed to a girl. Which made me feel a lot better, will elaborate more on that later. I think even though he stayed harsh to her the whole time, I liked how you could see he was slowly falling/becoming whipped for fuka. Like the comedy of him wearing that dumb cloak so y’all could watch the stars together. Or like him working at Soh’s restaurant because he had to earn the money, and not just take Soh’s money. Like I loved that! Plus the ending where he isn’t accepted but he keeps pulling dumb stunts just to see you is v cute lol.

Soh

Idk how to talk about Soh without major spoilers. Soh is so sweet. I like how he’s always striking up conversations with Fuka in all the routes, which is probably good for her, considering almost everyone else is pretty wary of her existence. I honestly liked his route and I guess that's all I can say.

*big spoilers* I know most people don’t like Soh, cause he’s the reason for all things bad LOL. Yes he’s using/deceiving Fuka the whole time, but its not like he drugged Fuka or kept Fuka captive lol. Like most of the time he’s trying to keep her safe, and trynna make her happy, even if its probably so he could gain her trust or something. I also feel like his route was kinda him giving up his grand plan, and wanting to run away and be happy with Fuka, which obviously doesnt happen. Idk i liked that he ultimately treated her right.

Pashet

What’s up with otome games giving you a girl option but not the option to actually romance the girl? Her route was fine, and the friendship that builds between Fuka and her is fine. Sorry that’s a little salty lol. I actually thought this route was really cute. I have my reservations about Fuka being in romantic relationships, so it actually was kinda nice to see her make an actual friend without catching feels. Female friendships are absolutely underrated and I’m glad Fuka was actually able to make a friend who is looking out for her best interest.

Hamelin

I usually try not to use kiss cgs but this is the only couple cg and I like using couple cgs. So sorry if this is spoiler-y to you. But how do I feel about Hamelin... you know what I very much liked him. His route is so short and it’s kinda a secret ending. In that sense his route is a little unsatisfying. It’s kinda unclear how Fuka could love him in that short amount of time... but she does. Hamelin is hard to describe because he’s so different in all the other routes. He’s kinda the main villain in most of the routes, aside from his own. You get to see a little bit more of his personality in Scarlet’s route. I genuinely think he is a good guy, and was trying his best! That’s all you can really ask of anyone right?

*slight spoiler* I’m so sad he didn’t get a redemption? You find out why he did the things that he did, and he just... doesn’t get anything? He like doesn't even appear? Just gone into the abyss. I wish Fuka and him could have gotten a happier ending, since their ending isn’t really... happy

Dr Crow

I do not like Robin Hood. Isn’t Robin Hood about stealing from the rich? Like... why is this man treating everyone the same? Why is this man even apart of the upper class? Okay to keep this brief and spoiler free lol. Dr. Crow here is the town’s doctor. He treats everyone the same regardless of what family they are from. In his eyes you are his patient and his goal is to heal you. He’s quite elegant and seems really dependable and then he hits you with some REDACTED

*spoiler & TW for drugging* Fuck this guy. I think what’s worse is that he did not have to drug fuka, she would have gone along with whatever he wanted probably. I’m guessing he did it so she would be in deep sleep. But still, ew gross. How you gonna love your wife and do that. This man is out for revenge and I dont like it.

Manboy/Dorian/Alfani

I barely like Manboy. Honestly I never heard of Dorian Gray before playing this so I was v confused (and if you heard of it then you probably will be more prepared than I was). I actually played this route really early on because i thought it might be funny. It is in fact not at all funny and I was not okay after finishing it. I am a little glad I got it out of the way though, if I left this for like last I would have been v upset and it probably would have ruined the game for me lol. I do kinda wanna replay the route now that I know about Dorian but idk.. i still hate this route so idk if I really will.

If you don’t know anything like me, this is the br*thel route. Manboy works there more as like a receptionist? Dorian Gray is the ringleader, and there’s Alfani who’s the male escort. Feel free to wikipedia Dorian Gray before trying this route. Not to spoil the story but TW you also get drugged in this route too.

Overall Thoughts

I feel lukewarm about ozmafia. In one aspect I like how each route was different and how the different endings actually like split off. I also enjoyed how there wasn’t necessarily a good ending and a bad ending, they were just different endings. Obviously in some routes, one ending is better than the other, and also in others neither endings are great lol. I also quite enjoyed the transfer routes, it felt different, innovative, like ozmafia really tried something there! And the replay ability, the game adds extra scenes that provide more insight towards what the love interest is thinking, which makes replaying to get the other endings very enjoyable. There also an extra scene before each ending, so you could also replay the same ending too. I really went into ozmafia with like zero expectations, and i was both surprised and underwhelmed? I dont think thats the right word.

*MAJOR SPOILERS* There’s this really great video essay called born sexy yesterday, that really explains why I felt slightly uneasy about the whole story. If you think about it Fuka has amnesia, she’s mentally a child but here she in engaging in adult activities with grown ass men ._. and I know I said I liked the transfer routes, but that was before I found out that Fuka is literally a 10 year old in an “adult” body. LIKE WHEN I SAW DOROTHY I WAS LIKE WHO TF LET THIS INFANT READ DORIAN GRAY? Anyways the fact that dorothy is literally like 10 years old, did not sit well with me. Yknow this story is about wizard of oz, so I did have a feeling Fuka was dorthy, BUT WHEN ISAW HER SPRITE, girl i had to look up dorthy’s age and apparently shes somewhere between 8 and 12. So, throughout the game it was a bit uncomfortable because I did feel like Fuka was mentally a child but I kinda justified it as well she lost her memories, so she’s a blank slate like a child, maybe she’ll mature up with memories but uhhh, that’s just not going to happen.

So there are my thoughts. I thought Ozmafia was really different from other otome games because of how each character got their own story, and the transfer routes felt so innovative, as well as adding the extra scenes in the second playthrough! But there’s some bad born sexy yesterday vibes that make me not okay with it. I would recommend the game though. There’s so much content, it took me like a week to finish it all. Plus the art is quite nice.

Thank you for the question. Took a while to answer. This is a really complex one and my computer keeps freezing or remotely updating when I’m about halfway through composing an explanation, so I have to start over. I’m backing up this one ffs.

So...first of all, you haven’t missed anything. It hasn’t been explained. I just said there were a lot of reasons and they unavoidably have a complicated one-sided relationship.

It’s mostly for emotional reasons that they’re focused on Damian. They have logical ones for wanting to plan their approach carefully if they have the option, and they are somewhat leery of him in terms of personal direct violence, but their kneejerk aversion to the point of steering away from a potential safe harbor/backup because they’re trying to put off a difficult confrontation is all interpersonal anxiety.

Nuhum (9) and Chihaarum (4) were banking on fleeing to Batman’s doorstep in high distress to get them in the door, because Talia liked to call Bruce sentimental and they figured even weirdo clone children can play on that, if they’re running from assassins. (Haftum thought this was a dumb idea. The others’ opinions of it varied.) But once they’d linked up with Tim, even those two admitted that the gain of having strategy help from someone who actually knew the parties involved was a better bet than ‘looking pathetic and hoping.’

As far as wanting to avoid Damian particularly...they’re his spares. One of their functions in existing at all has always been in case he needed emergency organ transplants.

In canon Talia replaced a bunch of his squishy organs and his spine on separate occasions before we found out she’d gotten into cloning him; it’s comic book medicine so the speedy recovery/lack of need for anti-rejection treatment doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but in context the meaning seems pretty clear.

There was more than one clone made, and at least one had been taken to pieces before Damian knew there were any at all.

The septuplets have an exaggerated expectation of Damian’s influence with Batman, but also he’s just been this figure in their lives as long as they can remember. He looms.

They ran because Talia had finally started coming to terms with his defection enough to start talking about selecting one of them to train up as a new heir/possibly his destined nemesis on her bad days; one of her hesitations was over whether defeating the other copies would actually prove the survivor was good enough to put up against the Real One(tm).

They know how he was brought up; they know almost nothing about Batman or why Damian chose to stay with him, and they’re cynical enough about Ra’s managerial approach to think it wouldn’t take much to make for a better offer than remaining an Heir of the House of al Ghul. So no, they don’t know he won’t try to kill them to assert his existence and/or supremacy, and they know he’s far more dangerous than they are, one for one.

This ‘verse assumes the League of Deadly Assassins is, primarily, a cult, and that like most cults a lot of the energy applied internally goes to making sure the members are primarily dependent on the organization, its norms, and its leader, for emotional validation etc. Damian and his clones all need support to deprogram, especially since they don’t have any pre-cult sense of reality to go back to; they however as mentioned in an earlier ask have very different needs, because Damian didn’t have brothers.

The cloneboys’ indoctrination went badly in large part because of their unclear status within the League. They got a blend of the lessons and ideology intended for the elites and that meant for the disposable foot soldiers, and the inconsistencies there, combined with having one another for support and reality checks (because a tendency to not see them as separate individuals meant a certain sloppiness about keeping them emotionally isolated from one another) allowed them a more realistic view of the League than Damian had even a few years older than they are. But they are still little kids, and it’s all they’ve known.

So Damian is just...an enormous figure for them. It’s like...idk...if Luke had known Anakin Skywalker was still alive and had gone bad, except Obi-Wan was 500% more a dick, and talked about Anakin around him constantly and sometimes called him by Anakin’s name by mistake. Probably it was a mistake. Who knows.

Except with somehow massively more identity issues involved, and Batman in place of the Emperor, leading to much more nuanced conversations because Bruce is just a more complex figure than Darth Sidious, especially from the respective perspectives of Talia and Obi-Wan.

And if Darth Maul kept popping in and out and annoying Obi-Wan by distracting, er, I guess Owen Lars, who is now Ra’s al Ghul, what have I done.

(Maul is Tim. Analogy-Luke has never seen Maul, but he has been complained to about him. Talia doesn’t actually have nearly Obi-Wan’s Maul issues with Tim. Should he be Dooku? Somehow not dead? And then...Dick is represented by Maul I guess? And...Jason is Ventress??? This has gotten way too complicated. In irrelevant directions. Please ignore this entire parenthetical.)

Also Leia is there. Leia represents Haftum. He gets a whole Skywalker twin to himself because he’s just so consistently pissed off.

Regardless of how badly I tormented it, I think that analogy did a much better job than any of the essays I previously attempted to convey their perspective with, so I’m letting it stand.

Except of course Damian isn’t their father, but they don’t know if he’d be willing to see them as brothers either, and they’re not all sure they want him to.

Meeting Damian is just a really alarming prospect for a lot of reasons, and they’d rather a) have time to plot how it goes and b) give as little impression of weakness to him as they can. So they would really rather not have him come to their rescue just now, if at all avoidable. Tim offered them options.

Although in reality saving them would probably have helped to put them in 13-year-old Damian’s relative good books, because one of the more heroic aspects of his character s a proprietary sort of protectiveness over small creatures he has chosen to defend. But they have no way of knowing that.

On Impeachment

I just been doin a lil readin. Very little. Because like so many others I had lost patience with Pelosi. But i do think shes being careful. So imma summarize to best of my ability for those who dont wanna do the research:

The Russia Investigation is not the end all be all. There are several investigations on and around potus. Blumenthal et al v Trump (Blu as i'll refer to it) is one importantly relevant one to pay attention to. The purview of each case will inevitably differ despite any relation to one another. The purview will affect what sort of evidence is relevant and can be accessed.

The russia investigation purview may not have been broad enough to prove trump committed a crime despite resulting in several other indictments and guilty pleas of people around trump. The focus for the russia investigation was more on the conspiracy of foreign interference with the 2016 election. There may be some proof of obstruction of justice by potus but it may be insufficient especially since many of the aides he tried to influence simply refused to fall in step. Id also like to note obstruction of justice only results in a fine or about 5yrs jail time. Personally I want more than that, something he cant buy his way out of and something his base wont find so easy to shrug off.

A conspiracy conviction requires proof that (a) the conspirators did indeed conspire to commit the crime, and (b) the crime was committed by an individual involved in the conspiracy. Proof of which individual it was is usually not necessary.

Blu is a seperate ongoing investigation as to whether potus violated the Emoluments Clause (essentially prevents bribery of people in office by requiring approval by congress for any gifts from foreign parties), so the focus is much more potus central than the russia investigation. It's also going to help prove that a crime was committed with more quantifiable and/or tangible proof via his finances.

Normally presidents premtively hand over their taxes to be reviewed. While it is not a requirement, it is a show of "i have nothing to hide". Trump is the first to have not done it (I'm sure hes so proud to be first at something) despite many in the general public and within congress asking for him to. Folks have not had access to review his records,... until now...

Just last month (june 18th i think the decision was made) a district court judge finally ruled to give access for prosecutors to investigate potus business records. This gives them 3 months to dive in an see what they find.

Ongoing investigations remain tight lipped ideally so that no evidence can be ruled invalid and the ensure due process is being followed so that an appeal would be much more difficult if not impossible. There may be evidence found already but they cant just run to the papers with it. idk if they will take the whole 3 months. but this was also why so much of the mueller report was redacted was due to ongoing investigations like Blu.

This is likely why Pelosi has not called for impeachment inquiry - there are already various investigations ongoing that could result in proof that would make pursuit of impeachment that much easier.

Bear in mind that things have changed since prior impeachment inquiries. Until recent years subpoena power was not innate to committee chairs, but it is now for many including judiciary committee so they have been able to proceed with more with fewer hurdles to that investigation. So where as before they would have had to file an impeachment inquiry to gain these powers, now filing an inquiry is not as pertinent so early on.

Even if impeachment were pursued there are yet more obstacles, primarily convincing 2/3 of the senate required to remove the president. because some may be protecting trump despite knowing of any crimes he has committed, its that much more important to find evidence that is quantifiably undeniable, because in the end their reputation is on the line and the general public will know when they go to vote. Business statements could be practically receipts for crimes committed. Granted it wont be as simple as finding a check with the memo: "payoff for election interference", thus the 3 months to review the records in critical detail.

Besides all this, even if potus is impeached and removed then pence would be next in line UNLESS he is impeached as well and personally i have not looked into him but it is important to remember as it may play a part in the investigations as well.

Lastly, remember that impeachment is not the same as indictment. Impeachment would simply serve to remove potus from office. Why? Because a sitting president cannot be indicted. So they must be removed first. Then a process to indict them would begin. If his term ends before there is any impeachment proceedings, then he could be indicted, assuming there is sufficient evidence found and presented.

I think that pretty well covers many of the ins and outs of what's going on and that it isn't as simple as some may think. Pelosi did say people yelling for impeachment gives them leverage, though im unclear as to how. Regardless i imagine it would be frustrating to know what you're doing but to have a plethora of amateurs nipping at your ankles insisting they know better or claiming that Pelosi has ulterior motives.

yep it is indeed unit white’s doha! he didn’t debut with boys24’s final group bc he asked fans to not vote for him to be in the final group (and fans respected his wishes and didn’t vote for him). a good number of the other boys did so too… there was also jinseok (another member) who withdrew from the finals: he participated to the very last of the concerts, but chose to not do their finals back in august (and thus was not eligible for voting).

also yes yg is so inconsistent and unclear with his criterias… it’s honestly infuriating. ahh i see… isn’t f5 indeed p high for guys btw? (ngl i’m no good at this rip) the baritone, was it habit/havit? he threw me off guard tbh, such a cute child with a deep voice… he goes pretty low in his individual audition clip but idk if it’s already in a baritone’s supported range?

wow…boys24 must have been really tough for the boys ? if they asked fans not to vote for them?? im glad fans respected his decision though!!

he honestly to me doesnt seem to know what he’s doing like i dont understand why he’d drop woojinyoung to b class because of a mic difficulty that he had zero ability to control? what woojinyoung COULD control was how he reacted to that and he reacted with professionalism and kept dancing despite that and thats the kind of behavior u look for in idols? but no? lkasjd there was a member of myteen who didnt get in and before they aired the episode i was like ‘i bet that member got dropped bc he threatens ygs ideas of masculinity’ AND BOY WAS I RIGHT (i hated that i was though bc the guy is talented he literally didn’t pass bc he has fluidity and flexibility in his movement). like he’s consistent about being narrow minded but thats about it

i’m not actually too sure but i think f5s in head voice is definitely doable for tenors; i wouldn’t consider it to be like super high like in terms of vocal range. it would be a tricky note to support i think. however, tenors trying to mix f5s, oh boy thats another story (f5s are pretty high for tenors to mix most cant do it with proper support. everytime i hear a tenor hitting a f5 with an attempted mix i pray for them)

idk how to romanize his name or what the profile says but yeah thats him! (his name doesnt sound like that in korean though alksdj the struggles of romanization). tbh i watched the its ok performance half awake the first time so the only thing i noticed was ‘wow this guys a baritone and he has a nice voice’ when i rewatched it i was like :O he’s a smol?! omg 1thek uploaded like a legit nice camera version of it?? again wondering if im being biased bc i can see him straining…but u can strain and support so i’ll just give him the benefit of the doubt….but now im worried he’s not a baritone and im just making him into one watch him be a tenor with a great lower register…but like everything about him is convincing me that hes a baritone laskj. his audition video (the ‘30′ second one i assume?) he doesn’t go too low (only f4)! and, if i’ve interpreted correctly, voice type really isnt determined by your vocal range, but rather by where your passagio are! if im hearing correctly, i think his 30 second video is a good indication of where one of his passagio is! idk what note but i think at around b3/c4, and like its this passagio that kind of determines voice type. but now that 30 second video has got me a bit confused bc im not quite sure if he has a nice mix…his btob performance goes a bit higher than that and he sounds more relaxed there? oh waittttt language definitely has a huge factor…i think if hes not comfortable with english we can’t really tell much about his actual vocal technique from that video (i still think though we can determine his passagio fro it). have u seen their adore u cover from the company? he sings an f4 and it sounds nice…? like maybe supported…? maybe im just being biased bc i like the tone of his voice IDK MAN I WISH I KNEW MORE ABOUT VOCAL PEDAGOGY :( i really want to say definitive stuff about this lakjdf im so worried im hyping a vocalist who isnt doing all the things i say he does (regardless he has a super pretty voice so even if he doesnt do all these things i say he does i’ll still hype him bc he def got the potential and talent to)
