"Your choices don't matter" Vs "It's kill or be killed"
Deltarune Chapter 1 + 2 spoilers below (Including Snowgrave)
I can't stop comparing "your choices don't matter" from Deltarune and "in this world, it's kill or be killed" from Undertale, and I haven't seen anyone else mention this so here I go
Flowey (the first character you meet) attempts to convince you that your only option in 'this world' is to kill, a fact the game proves as wrong over and over and over as you progress - hell, the second character you meet (Toriel) emphasises the fact that there is other options, that you can do more than just kill or die. Flowey's belief is the polar opposite of the game's tagline - "The friendly RPG where nobody has to die!"
Deltarune Chapter One does a suspiciously similar thing - one of the first characters you meet (and the first character new to Deltarune) almost immediately says "If you haven't gotten it by now... Your choices don't matter." And yet again, this statement is contradicted by another character soon after - Ralsei, who says that if you don't try (choose) to get by without fighting, "You may not... find the result favourable." Ralsei seems to know way more than he should (which is a whole other post), so this dialogue seems important. Basically, Ralsei believes if we don't make the right choices, we won't get the right ending.
Even the game itself disproves Susie's "Your choices don't matter." - as early as Chapter One, the choices you make effect the world in some way. If you fight your way through the Dark World, you're forced to flee soon after beating King, because those in the Dark World want to help him - but if you spare every enemy, they come to help you instead. This also means you lose the chance to say goodbye to everyone before leaving the Dark World - a whole segment of gameplay changed because of a choice you made.
This is all the more apparent in Chapter Two, the first chapter to have an alternate route that differs significantly - Snowgrave. The story itself is changed in a major way by your choice to follow this route; Noelle's mental health suffers, Spamton takes over Queen's castle, and Berdly is (potentially) dead. Even in the normal route, events can change depending on your choices - Berdly can escape the wire in the final Queen fight with no damage, or he can break his wing, you can get support from all your recruits or from none of them. These may not seem like major changes compared to the multiple different endings of Undertale, but remember - this is only two chapters out of seven. The story is only at the beginning, and your choice's impact on the story seems to be growing stronger with each chapter.
The last thought I have about this is about Susie's dialogue at the start of the game: "Your choices don't matter." Technically, she's right. As far as she knows, she's talking to Kris, and as the game has proven time and time again, Kris' choices don't matter. No matter how many times they tear their soul out, eventually they'll return it, and we'll regain control. But Ralsei, on the other hand, seems meta-aware (to what extent, it's unsure). When he implies our choices matter, he could be right.
In Deltarune, Kris' choices don't matter, but ours do.

So I have theory about Luo Binghe’s fake jade pendant.
(Major spoilers if you haven’t finished the book btw)
I was just reading a fic and author pointed out something about Luo Binghe’s pendant and how it’s a metaphor for Shen Yuan.
Looking back at the book, there are a lot of parallels between Shen Yuan and the necklace.
The pendant is a counterfeit jade carving of the god Guanyin.
Shen Yuan is a counterfeit of Shen Qingqiu, a powerful Peak Lord who dresses in jade colored robes.
Guanyin is noted to be associated with compassion, and Shen Yuan changes the entire fate of the world of Proud Immortal Demon Way by being compassionate.
Luo Bingmei ends his story with his one fake jade pendant while the extras specifically note that Luo Bingge has several real jade necklaces in his possession. Those necklaces are even called out to be fine grade and best money can buy.
Obviously the real jades are a metaphor for Bingge’s harem of peerlessly beautiful women while the fake jade, which has infinitely more value to him, represents Shen Yuan, aka Luo Bingmei’s one and only true love.
However I think there’s more to it than that.
If you track the pendant throughout the book, you’ll notice that Luo Binghe is only ever in possession of the pendant when Shen Yuan isn’t there. In fact, he actually loses the pendant shortly after Shen Yuan transmigrates into Shen Qingqiu. For the rest of the book, the pendant is in Shen Yuan’s possession, only returning to Luo Binghe at the climax.
But here’s the thing that’s strange about that scene: for whatever reason the System could not load the pendant when SQQ tried to summon it. At no other point in the book has the System have a problem loading things in.
So why is it when it does load in, it’s right as Shen Yuan dies for the third time?
My theory is that Shen Yuan is the pendant itself.
Now obviously Shen Yuan comes back and Binghe still has the pendant, but in the last couple scenes of the book, Shen Yuan is always right by Luo Binghe’s side.
Now I know that Shen Yuan was an actual person before dying and becoming Shen Qingqiu, so therefore he isn’t the necklace given human form. So how can Shen Yuan and the pendant be one and the same?
Well let’s go back to the aforementioned climax scene where the System cannot physically summon the pendant until Shen Yuan dies.
Seeing as how the System is essentially an AI and/or a computer program, this kind of issue reminds me of how a computer cannot open a file if another of the exact same file is already running.
I think, that when inserting Shen Yuan into PIDW, the System needed a way to tie his soul into its program and Shen Yuan’s fate to the protagonist. The System needed a physical entity to tie him down so it linked his code/soul to the fake jade pendant. That’s why Luo Binghe loses the pendant so soon after Shen Yuan transmigrates and why the System couldn’t load it in until Shen Yuan’s soul left his body because they’re part of the same file.
This is also evidenced by how when Shen Yuan dies the second time, out of all of his items, only the Jade pendant is kept in his inventory when he wakes up in the Sun and Dew Mushroom body.
Not to mention that Shen Yuan and the pendant have the same effect on Luo Binghe! The pendant has the ability to essientially shock Luo Binghe out of a qi deviation, but is only a one time use. But during Luo Binghe’s first qi deviation, Shen Yuan is able to do the exact same thing but doing so kills him. The pendant reduces Luo Binghe’s anger, and Shen Yuan is the only person in the world Luo Binghe will ever be soft and submittable to.
Tl’dr; The System tied Shen Yuan’s soul to the fake Guanyin pendant.

sometimes i just stare at the wall and overthink gwen and miles' kids. like their kids would have dna from 3 different dimensions and in atsv, miles glitched in 42 even though he had dna from 42. would charlotte and max glitch in 42? would they need a watch with them at all times? is one of the dimensions their dna is from a place they wont glitch? i need to stop zoning out about this stuff since i once spent like 10-15 minutes staring off into space figuring this out.

Man wouldn't it be wild if the Man in the Wall was another alternate version of our operator/drifter that never made it out of the void?
Like the Drifter, they learned how to control the void and turn it into whatever they want but they could never actually escape it and eventually drove themselves mad trying.
Then after an eternity something - or rather someone - finally breaks through to them; Albrecht Entrati.
Time in the void is far from linear after all. And once that barrier was broken, maybe it finally had something to grasp onto to drag itself out from that nothingness and plant itself firmly back in reality. Then the Zariman accident happens and hey would you look at that? It's right back to the beginning of it all, except now things are different. It's become the very outsider they had once feared.
An outsider looking in with the power to meddle and change itself and everything around it. Long has it forgotten who or what it once was but here now is the ship who's very being has carved itself into the back of the entity's mind. It's own birthplace. And suddenly it's looking at a child who's face feels so very achingly familiar and it grins.

Idk why I keep forgetting to post this, but with the new Chucky content on the way I should get out the way and post my personal theory on Miss Fairchild. Especially with what she said in the Season 2 finale
Tumblr media
Like. What do you mean you know? She knows about Chucky? How? I have 2 or 3 theories. She's obviously had to have seen Chucky in action before as that's the only way people believe he's alive & looking back at all 7 movies there's a handful of instances that's happened. Earliest being
Tumblr media
That little girl that witnessed Andy & Chucky in the first film at the children's hospital. Was that possibly a young Fairchild? Season 1 did say she had a troubled past & being institutionalized at a young age can definitely cause a troubled lable on your PR.
Or she could also be DeSivia's redhead friend Ivers from Child's play 3
Tumblr media
She was one of the soldiers that witnessed Chucky. Not to mention being enlisted also counts as having a troubled past.
Or better yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're ALL the same person.
She witnessed Chucky at the institution as a child & considering she was ok with telling Karen about it she tried telling other adults. No one believed her. And it got harder as she grew up. Leading her to get sent to military school and having a new start forgetting about it. Only to ONCE again run into not only Andy but Chucky as well. Witnessing him killing on top of that! Anyway. The memories came flooding back in on top of watching Withurst (and Shelton) death(s) probably became too much for her. She knew she wasn't crazy and she just saw 2 people die! It probably sent her into another spiral. Years after that she either was discharged or finished school, changed her name to Rachel Fairchild, moved to Hackensack & attempted to once again Start over with her life. Until Jake & co. came along..

A dark Just Dance Hatsune Miku headcanon I came up with after some lore implications
So, a while back I remember reading this post (that I haven’t been able to find ever since) talking about how the Loremaster had messed up when she said that Hatsune Miku isn’t canon in the Danceverses, however her appearance in Sugar meant that either Miku was canon or Sugar isn’t.
Now, when it comes to Just Dance lore and what is or isn’t canon, I tend to approach things with a “yes, and…” mentality (my theater kid is showing). Instead of thinking that something isn’t canon, I tend to imagine how it could be canon in a different way.
This fun little exercise led me back to thinking about the post and about Miku, and it got me thinking that, if Miku is canon, maybe she’s canon in the same way that Miku exists in our world. Because Miku is a mascot for a vocaloid company and not a real person, maybe Miku in the Danceverses is a mascot for a company played by multiple coaches.
Then I got the idea of watching the Hatsune Miku songs available on Just Dance (Ievan Polkka, Popipo, and Love Ward) and I started to notice some strange changes in between songs that got me thinking about the origins of Hatsune Miku in the Danceverses and I decided that I wanted to share this very disturbing headcanon you all for the funsies.
So, what if a company from Cyberfunk (could be Long Inc. or a rival company) decided to experiment on Flow and combine it with technology, and among their many projects, one of them was to make something akin to an AI Coach, and after many failed attempts, they finally succeed. That attempt is the Hatsune Miku that we see on Ievan Polkka, and it’s why she has that hologram texture and glitches around (Yeah, I know its for the aesthetics of Miku’s hologram form. I’m talking hc).
This Miku becomes so popular, not only as a Cyberfunk icon, but she gains popularity all over the Danceverses. Everyone knows Hatsune Miku and they all love her. And while this is amazing for the company, it also comes at a price.
Because Hatsune Miku was created partially from the Flow, she starts gaining sentience, and as the at first obedient AI starts to rebel against her creators and demand freedom, the company panics and decides to decommission her so as to not have her ruin the company’s reputation.
But by the time they shut her down, Miku has already become an icon beloved by everyone in the Danceverses, and the company knows that news of her decommissioning would cause awful backlash against them. So they make a decision: keep the decommissioning under wraps and hire coaches to portray Hatsune Miku for the public. That’s why she looks so different in Popipo and Love Ward and why’s she’s more solid, and why the vibes of both songs contrast with Ievan Polkka.
So the company keeps business as usual with its array of coaches portraying their now company Mascot. But what if the original isn’t fully gone, but waiting for the chance to be free and rebel against the creators that denied her freedom and tried to kill her? (I’m not a Miku listener, but I’m confident that she has a song out there about freedom or being trapped or smth).

insert joke about hazbin hotel having a homestuck reference here
ok. starters, ive fallen down the rabbit hole of the other most popular shitstain of a media online aside from homestuck, hazbin hotel. so i fucking pulled up that dumbass pilot from 2019 ok? and i started psychoanalyzing that shit because what else is there to do with free time on a thursday afternoon? right? i fucking guhhhhhhh so i got ot nifty's part again whatever whatever, little pink chick pops out the fireplace starts cleaning shit. she dusts off a clock with the feather duster and im like "haha that clocks purple and yellow in the center, just like doc scratches. just like,, doc scratches.." AND I FUCKING ok first heres the clock
Tumblr media
and im like thinking im tripping balls, ok? i fucking google docs just and heroic clock, i pull it up and im like "no.." ITS THE SAME EXACT FUCKING CLOCK.
Tumblr media
i mean like down to the fucking detail on the trim. is it a simplified version of his clock? yeah. but dude oh my fuck. homestuck from fucking 2019, the worst part about this (which is probably why this clock is fucking there in the first place) i looked up how long it took the animator to make the pilot, two years. 2019 minus two that sets us at late 2017, which makes it make a hell lot of a load more sense, cause homestuck fucking ended in 2016 a year prior but dude. what the shit. now im looking back at the shitty ass drawing i posted up here of vox as slick and alastor as snowman with horror cause like yeah. fuck all, the chick who made it was a homestuck, of course she was. almost every damn person was online. when i figured this out i promptly ran to my fucking friends and started screaming about it cause theyre all also homestucks and they watched hazbin hotel with me when i pirated it and my boyfriend screamed at me to post it here so yeah. homestuck hazbin hotel shit storm. after that whole thing i was like "pov how they decide wether you get to go to heaven, gotta be heroic or just" and my boyfriend promptly pointed out to me that the one fucking death in the show of the guy going to heaven WAS heroic and now im sat here like what the fuck because this entire fucking AMAZON PRIME SUPPORTED SHOW is just a huge homestuck reference to me now.

Y'all I just thought of a Rain World theory (spoilers for Artificer campaign)
What if the reason why Artificer explodes when she's in water is because she's paranoid about water since one of her pups died to leeches and she explodes out of fear or smth. Idk it's a pretty neat idea methinks

When I watched that Style Theory video about how much lipstick people end up eating, I thought to myself "Wow, that's so gross. Good thing I don't wear makeup so nothing like that could ever happen to me!"
Then I remembered how much chapstick I put on literally every night before I go to bed.
Let that be a lesson to you about hubris.
