This well crafted lamp has entrancingly organic shapes and a warm, welcoming glow. 

Creatures that see it must succeed a DC15 Will save or stare at it continuously, as with the spell Lock Gaze. Every 10 minutes a staring creature gets another save with a cumulative +1 bonus to break the enchantment. Creatures who succeed their save do not need to make it again for another 24 hours. A creature gets an additional save when jostled or disturbed by an outside force, such as an enemy’s attack or the aid of an ally. 

Additionally the lamp may sometimes choose a mature being with intelligence 3 or higher who is either romantically available or unfaithful to their current spouse as their “seduced”, as a permanent Charm Monster. The creature gets a DC18 Will save to avoid this effect, and, once a day, may gain an additional save at a -2 penalty when an ally explains to them that the lamp is merely a very nice lamp and not a person. This effect can not be dispelled by Dispel Magic but can be broken by Break Enchantment.

The seduced perceives the lamp to be of great romantic value and attempts to woo it, slowly going through the motions of “meeting”, “asking out”, “dating”, and even trying to “marry” the lamp if the enchantment is not broken. If the lamp is moved or taken by another, the seduced will often go to great lengths to “rescue” the lamp, treating it as though their spouse or a particularly attractive person had been abducted. Similarly, when another person is seduced by the lamp, they may act as the cunning and cruel kidnapper who steals it and tries to make it their love. 

The lamp, when turned on, also emits light like a torch. 

Our good friend @itsatechreel uploaded a video last week theorizing why we never see Steve and Joe's parents, or even hear them mentioned. And I really must say that his theory is a lot more plausible than MatPat's Blue's Clues theory.

An Idea I Had

(disclaimer, this is not meant to be a 'women have all the better things' rant, this is just some thoughts I had.)

Okay, I was rewatching some videos about how characters can be positive masculine or feminine characters, how traditionally masculine characters can be kind, and traditionally feminine characters be strong, and it reminded me of the last Film Theory video matpat made, discussing how there aren't that many positive male leads in children's cartoons (insert the usual explanation that I think it's great how many positive female characters like luz noceda and Anne bounchoy exist now, and an ask to accept that I am not qualified to go into the complicated gender history of the animated medium, this is merely an idea I had) and it got me thinking, about a synopsis for a show.

In the first episode we would be introduced to an unlikeable protagonist, brattish, rude, immature. However, in some scenario I have not yet decided, he decides he wants to turn his life around. Maybe an older brother or other such idol who he once thought of as similar to him gives him a talking to. He decides it would be best to turn his life around, although he hasn't the slightest idea how to do so. Unfortunately, it is exactly this time it is revealed he is a chosen one, being teleported to a fantasy world and given magical powers. He now needs to decide whether to take the easy way out or solve the problems around him through understanding and conversation. With the occasional bit of self defense, manticores don't really care about positive self image.

i have encountered a very funny problem. it is nigh on impossible to look up essays and papers about the 1968 sergio leone spaghetti western film the good, the bad and the ugly because academics across all fields cannot resist subtitling their papers “the good, the bad and the ugly”.

good morning medina high school. im matthew patrick. i come here today with a very special invitation. now, the juniors and seniors know that prom is coming up in a few short weeks, and those with date are quickly making arrangements for hair appointments, finding tuxedos and dresses, buying tickets, and so on. however, ive noticed that those without dates have resided themselves to the fact that they wont be attending this years dance. this troubles me. now, the prom is a once in a lifetime oppor- well, twice in a lifetime opportunity at medina high school, that should not be passed up. and those that miss this opportunity will be forever left wondering "what if?" but im here today to tell you to live without regrets, especially you seniors. just because you dont have a date or just because you dont wanna spend hundreds of dollars on clothing, should not prevent you from going to this milestone of your life. for those of you that feel uncomfortable going alone, i invite you to come with me. im getting a group of friends together to go just as that. friends. a way to offer a variety of dance partners and to enjoy the evening without any emotional commitments. it will be a fun-filled night full of friendship and dancing. now, whether its with me, or with someone else, or with a group of friends, or just by yourself, i urge you to attend today. just- introduce yourself to me, even if i dont know you. its a great way to meet new people. and, y'know, i'd be honored to meet you myself. and, even if we collect enough money, the money we save on corsages and boutonnieres can be spent going to a limousine for all of us. it'd be a great night, i promise you. allow me in conclusion to urge you to go to the prom one final time. and to end on this note, will you go to prom with me, medina?
