obsessively detailed DNIs and lack of good faith reading of strangers' words and discussing the rights to exclude xyz for being too weird for your (public) space and this person reblogged a post from a person who follows a person who follows a person who's suspect and righteous anger over any and every misstep of performance and waiting to catch people out and complete lack of trust and...
are you guys... happy?
do you have people around you that form a community? people who aren't carbon copies of yourself or online yes men? do you know people who aren't your age/gender/race/ethnicity/body/brain/don't have the same financial background, educational story, etc?
not all of these all at once all at the same time, but do you go outside your head, is what I mean?
do you remember that other people are people? have you had the opportunity to train yourself to have grace for the fact that everyone has faults and blindspots and perspectives that come from a life led differently, and that to hear and take in those differences make you richer, more understanding, less shut off?
are you able to discuss things while understanding that there is a middle ground? do you think anger and despair are the only emotions worth accessing in order to be a "good" person?
do you have people around you that aren't like you?
are you happy?

Give Love a Chance || Original Post
the other day @ladykailitha posted something that just sparked so much joy, i decided i absolutely had to expand upon and write a full story abt it. idk how fast i’ll work on this, as my main focus currently is on the big bang fic, but i wanted to post a prologue/teaser of sorts. (side note: i am definitely stealing piratefishmama’s layout, shhh)

Steve wasn’t sure how he had gotten here, to be honest. Well, he did, but he didn’t know it would actually get this far. He would like to place the blame on either Dustin or Robin—or both, both was good, too. The point was, Steve was completely faultless in it.
When Steve got home earlier, after a long day at work, he had checked the mail, as he usually does. He saw a letter addressed to him, which, to be fair, makes sense, seeing as it was in his mailbox, but it was the sender that had surprised him. It had been several weeks—at least—since Robin and Dustin had cornered him and forced him to fill out an application to be a bachelor on Give Love a Chance, and he had honestly forgotten about it. He had only agreed to submit an application to the show because he had been so sure that he wasn’t going to make the cut. Who would want to watch a dumb reality love gameshow with Steve as the bachelor? A middle school guidance counselor with a five year old daughter?
Steve had still held that opinion even as he opened the envelope and pulled out the contents. The confidence in his thoughts only waned when he began to read the letter, his eyes had slowly widened and his mouth fell open. He reached for his cell, instinctually calling Robin as he reread the contents of the letter.
“Y’ello?”
“Did you seriously just answer with—nevermind. Robin tell me why the fuck I’m staring at a letter telling me I was chosen to be on Give Love a Chance?” He asked, pacing the length of his kitchen.
“Oh my God!” Robin shouted from his phone, causing Steve to wince and adjust his hearing aid. “Why do you sound upset? This is what you agreed to! This is why we sent in the application in the first place! This is great news!”
“Robin, you and I both know that I only agreed because I thought nothing would come of it.” Steve said flatly, checking the time on the stove. He still had twenty or so minutes before he needed to leave to grab Matilda from preschool. “I’m going to tell them I changed my mind.”
“Absolutely not! I’ll never forgive you. Dustin will never forgive you.”
“What? Am I supposed to just do the show?”
“Yes!” Robin said enthusiastically. Steve let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“What am I going to do with Mattie, huh? I can’t just take her with me, she has school!”
“Dustin already told you that he and Will would take her in!”
“‘Take her in’? Rob, she isn’t a stray cat. She’s a whole tiny human.” Steve said with heavy exasperation. “He may have said that, but that doesn’t mean he will say the same thing now! There’s a difference between us joking about me getting accepted and the reality of taking care of a four year old!” Steve walked to the kitchen sink, filled himself a glass of tap water and set it to the side.
“So, we ask them again! I’m sure they’ll agree! You know they’ve been wanting to adopt! You can think of this as practice for them!”
Steve stared blankly out of the window above his kitchen sink, then groaned loudly and tipped his head back to glare at the ceiling.
“I don’t think I can leave her for the month—or more—it’ll take to film.” Steve admitted with a frown. He could immediately feel Robin’s shift in demeanor with the soft sigh she let out.
“Oh, dingus. You’ll be okay. We can video call her everyday while we're gone.” Robin said softly, trying to soothe him. “I think you should give it a go. You deserve to give love a chance.”
Steve let out a loud groan, which dissolved into a soft laugh. “You did not just say that.”
“I did.”
“That was so bad.”
“I know. But it’s true!”
“You’ll be with me?”
“Every step of the way.”
“..Fine.”

Here are those flavor text lines I've been mentioning in every SotConlang post since the dawn of time! Finally! These were more of a "chip at it when there's downtime" project, since they're fairly short and simpler compared to than Null Composure. I'm very proud of them, as this is the culmination of several months of background work and my first completed translation project! *throws confetti*
side note: on Ishtar Collective, some items say "transl. from Eliksni" and others say "trans. from Eliksni". i definitely didn't only just find that out when I was close to being done w the original lines i found..... anyway idk what the reason for the difference is (probably diff ppl wrote the flavor texts) but now you all know if you want to go look these up yourselves. I made them all say "transl." for consistency here.

Since you are posting all this link click musical content, do you have a weibo account? When you're looking for the content, do you use the app or the website? Cause I don't have an account and I've been looking through it on the browser but I only really find a few posts, meanwhile you seem to have an entire mine 😂 I wonder if there's really a difference or if there's something else I'm unaware of...

No, I don't have a weibo account. I use a website (computer is more optimal for managing files). As for the rest I may have some tips ✨
1. Basic navigating tips (I've learnt it like a lab monkey, by pushing buttons, idk chinese): #音乐剧时光代理人# is the tag for LC musical. 2 last tabs on a left matter the most. The play button is tab with videos, first filter (the orange one) is for most popular, the other is for most recent.
The one below play button, a photo, is for pictures. They show from the most recent ones and I think you can scroll through them freely.
*For more convenient browsing and a chance to find extra photos that weren't properly tagged I recommend visiting profiles that posted the pics.
*second tab, the speech bubble one, is for discussion I think, it's sometimes useful for audience reviews etc.
2. If you don't have an acc weibo limits your access to older videos (message belows tells you to sign in to see more)
So I visit this tab just to check if anything interesting happened in the most recent play.
3. Bilibili doesn't seem to limit your access to older content, so for browsing videos use the #音乐剧时光代理人# on Bilibili. You can google translate the website to figure out the layout options, then go back to chinese ver (you must view original ver for clips to show up) and explore from there.
*Tbh I don't keep up with the videos much bc it's all the encore from different days. If anything big happens I learn about it from the photos, then look for the clips from that particular performance.
4. Check @接着奏乐接着舞Musicals (official profile of the musical's company). They post summary clips and photos from the play as well as cast announcements.
5. Check the actors' weibo accounts. A post where I tag and link to all of main trio actors. THIS IS IMPORTANT (my secret of having 200+ pics of LG & CXS actors). I'll use Cai Qi's acc as an example:
a) Go on their weibo.
b) Copy and paste their weibo tag into the search bar.
c) Look for a post with photos of them (can be from other play, doesn't matter)
d) THIS! We're looking for this diamond-shaped tag symbol 🔍
e) Click it and you're home 😌:
f) (ok I have no idea what IS this diamond tag) BUT it looks like a verified vip account, that not all people can tag. I suspect it's something like 'pay to tag your idol'/'highlight my post to a tagged person' twitter subscription kind of thing idk. Edit: It's a person-specific tag, like #, not direct @. What matters is that it has ALL hardcore stans in one place, posting videos, fancams and photos of that one specific actor in chronological from most recent order. Sadly it also limits non-users to newer posts only.
g) For clips with the actor go to the second tab on the top.
h) Third tab is for images. You can browse through the minatures but won't be able to enlarge them without the acc. So go back to the first tab, scroll, find yourself a batch that you haven't seen before, like here and visit OP's profile. It's the most probable to stumble upon a theatre kid who's already been to the LC musical, so you can find more content on there.
i) Scroll until you find the post with photos, click one of them, and then the highlighted option to access the highest quality image aand there you have it ✨
j) If you scroll and reach a user-only limit without finding the post you saw under the vip tag, there's a roundabout way to this >>
k) Scroll back up, and go to the last tab. It's the image albums tab. Look for the album with the theatre/actor photos. It seems the albums have no recency limit, you can see older posts without weibo acc.
(I feel kinda creepy for digging through people's profiles, but I swear weibo seems public like twitter and I have a tunnel vision to find LC content only)
So that was probably a core difference by the way I look for these things ><' Hopefully I explained it well enough. The biggest disadvanages of this method is you're still able to access only the most recent posts. That's why I made bookmarks to check them everyday.
Another thing is that not all actors in LC musical cast have a well established stan community who would post in the vip tag. They mostly do, but actors like Du Guangyi, Cai Qi, Teng Chunpeng, Zhang Jiahao, Wu Yihan or Wang Minhui tend to overshadow the rest by a sheer amount of fan pictures :'>

hi! it's me, nana / koinotame!
if you're wondering why i went inactive and then deleted, my mental health kind of (really) tanked... and i ended up deleting my blog in a fit.
it's getting better bit by bit though! and i've been wanting to get back into writing (and talking abt my unhinged/yan ideas i can't really talk to anyone else abt), so. here i am! for now, at least
as for my previously posted writing, there's some good news and some bad news:
the bad news is that everything i wrote directly into tumblr (99% of snippets, a lot of ask answers, most exact content warnings, etc) is gone. the slightly less bad news is that iirc there were very very few posts of mine that weren't reblogged by anyone at all, so they're probably still out there? feel free to send them my way if you find any and i'll rb them. @/midnight-remembrance also has reblogged a couple of them! there's a couple snippets i have saved in some places, so i might repost those on my own as i find them, but there's very few of those.
the good news is that anything longer (proper writing — oneshots, hcs, yan alphabet responses and so on, prompt responses, etc) is safely backed up where i originally wrote it! some of it is also on my ao3, which is the same username. feel free to send me asks about any you'd like to see again and i'll repost them! i might not post them if i feel too embarrassed about/wish i hadn't posted them, and i might rewrite/heavily edit some of them, but i think there's only a handful that fall into the former category and none of them were particularly popular. either way, no harm in asking!
as for some other updates:
i'm a little divided on whether i want to keep posting explicit nsfw or not so we'll see. i might just keep it out of main tags. idk yet. regardless of what decision i make, this blog is still strictly 18+ and that will not be changing.
since we can reply from sideblogs now, this is a sideblog and not my main now. why? sometimes i prefer to check up on a blog frequently instead of following them for a couple of reasons, but this felt very awkward when they were following me. so this being a sideblog relieves a bit of that stress. if this makes it sound like i have severe brain worms, it's because i do. to that effect though, if we interact every so often feel free to consider us mutuals regardless of whether or not i'm actually following you =w=b
tbh i.............. am not really into genshin anymore. i might post about it here and there but i just Do Not (really) Care about it anymore. scara aside to some degree i also have no clue what's going on post inazuma lol

*roughly 6/22 done, but fairly quick to write. roughly one paragraph per character (sneak peek line: "it's not too hard to be discreet with his unique magic when someone really deserves to fall face down a flight of stairs. or three. oopsie. odd they don't remember it, huh? well, he had nothing to do with that.")
**more realistic isn't quite the right word(s)... probably won't post this one to the main tags regardless. won't be doing all of the characters (only important/relevant ones) and won't be writing more about/expanding on, so this one is just like. a one off experiment sort of thing. overall less violent than most takes on the au + leans a bit (or lot, depending on how you look at it) more on the religious aspect of self aware aus. i wrote a couple paragraphs a while ago, then rewrote them, but i'll only finish/post them if there's interest for it (sneak peek line: "aether has deluded himself and cast You aside entirely on his own—and when You finally grace them with Your real presence, zhongli is certain aether will be the first to fall from Your grace.")
i have one other new thing immediately ready for posting that'll get posted in a couple of days but that one's pretty silly

About pre-virus ruin, ye, I suppose that's true. Thinking about it more, I do hope the showrunners keep it that way. Something about seeing them at their silliest and then getting the massive WHIPLASH after seeing them like THIS is... it's sad. I like to think we witnessed two character deaths that video. It's just that one started dying 50 years ago :') (l like to imagine their silliness originated from somewhere at least and was not all made up. A remnant from simpler times...) (1/10)
Aaaaah yea! And... if they end up giving us a backstory of them... I just reaaally want to see how they were dealing with the virus and adjusting to everyone around them being infected... Oh, yea that... that is a sound reason. They, they had their reasons. I honestly like... don't think they ENJOYED hurting people. They were just... soooo off the leash when they arrived in this dimension. Scaring the hell out of Cassie and Gregory, the constant death threats, violent games and tricks. (One to three will always live in my head... "I can help with the cutting.") Like I said in... idk in which answer honestly it's all blurring together lmfao fjfjfj They kept up this act for FIFTY PLUS YEARS! And... they even managed to be one of their dimension's... I forgot the word but what the Ruin dimension's Monty was?? They were GOOD at their act. SO good they fooled everyone around them. Granted tho... those infected robots aren't too dreadfully hard to fool. Sun, when he was in Ruin's dimension, managed to fool one of them, convinced it he was Ruin. That robot didn't seem to posses the same level of sentience as the Ruin Monty we've seen in there (not to be confused with Ronty, rest in peace).
Fair! The lie detector video is.. really as ya said, our most reliable source of info. Even though some of the answers that were dinfed as truths were... weird.
Oooh you're right I haven't even thought of that heh. That was just silly in denial talk I suppose heh The Creators would have surely noticed... or... would they even have cared? Creators are selfish, self-centered insane geniouses... would they even care if one of their own suddenly vanished?
AHHHHH IT WOULD BE WORRYINGLY IRONIC 😭 Add onto that the very possible paraller between Cold Moon trying bring back his Sun and New Moon most likely going to drive himself to the point of shut down trying to find any signs of Solar possibly surviving... Oh my gosh I do NOT like this arc... WHY DOES EVERYTHING GO DOWN AROUND THIS TIME EVERY YEAR IT'S SO EXHAUSTING 😭

2. Exclusionists/bigots of any kind

My name is Treeline. I am a demonoid between the ages of 20 and 10,000 years and I originated as Madison's imaginary demon protector and I am the system's protector/caretaker, however I feel that I am not exactly aligned with actual demons or at the very least fluctuate between human and demonic states. Currently as of writing this I feel more aligned with my demonic side, although it could be that my human side is only a result of Madison's personality influencing mine and as such is not me in my purest form. I quite enjoy bird watching. It's possible I may also have two distinct personalities or be some sort of median sub-system, although I'll admit my understanding of subsystems is lacking.

I'm a fictive from Pax and Jude. I'm a species of alien called a queksol and I'm still having a really hard time understanding how I got to be here. Apparently this is the first time the system has had a fictive and it's a little alarming, but I'll probably be fine. I dunno.
A Description of our Wonderland
While we prefer to use the term "headspace" because it personally feels less mystifying, but we're glad to use "wonderland" to clear up any confusion.
Our wonderland is named Pax Island, which my fiance suggested because pax is latin for peace and it's somewhat of a paradise over there. It's a relatively flat island liberally peppered with oak trees in the middle of an endless ocean. We have our house by the eastern shoreline with a treehouse to the right of the entrance as well as a mall up north that is solely there because of the wall we used to use for graffiti, although it has pretty good ice cream even if I'm not quite good at perceiving the taste of it. We also have a park a little bit northwest and a recently added a submarine dock with a little non-sentient cat dude who mans the submarine because why not?
The headspace is in a constant state of night because I find it reasonably calming. Otherwise, there isn't much to say about it.

no... i almost wrote smut for the first time with a house fic a couple of months ago but i got nowhere with that fic idea. and a mighty nice shine is the very closest i've gotten to slipping it in but i'm too big of a chicken still (and it's not like i have any ideas stored up for it at present)

not that i know of? but that'd be pretty funny if so. mainly because i'm. a Middling creative writer so if you're going to steal MY stuff, then your bar must be low

ALL OF THEM. like. i'm still sighing i didn't write that hilson smut, as well as sighing i didn't really go through with my Other house ideas (pacrim universe, 'if amber lived' universe, priest chase universe, etc etc). oh and there's two barry ideas i had with ed that i still think would be interesting explorations but haven't picked up in like two years. plus some ted lasso stuff (namely gymnastverse and tattooed roy). and OBVIOUSLY mad i haven't gotten ANYWHERE with any original work WIPs (yes this is a fanfic interview but i stand by the inclusion)

descriptions maybe? IDK i write creatively so infrequently i have no idea. i just know i tend to have fun writing descriptions all flowery and stuff

besides the fact that i Never write, i think i have a tendency to be too out of character for my own liking, or at least Worry too much about that prospect. like it's inevitable in some part with writing alternate universes but i'm just too neurotic. and i really need to be married to / tuned into the idea to have a flowing stream of writing, and half the time i just Can't
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
i think if you do it and have the translation nearby / easily accessible, it's fine and can add an interesting dimension for like. the character's thinking in that language and/or being in some way immersed in it. but i also say that as someone who has included foreign languages or localized vocabulary then put translations/descriptions as footnotes in the end notes so. i'm biased
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
oh good lord... it was likely on deviantart so. heaven knows. my understanding of warriors or something else i was into through deviantart. and on wattpad it was probably— actually i'm going to have an aneurysm if i continue to think about this

there's probably plenty but re-reading this question probably severance or psych. like i haven't watched either recently and i'm more fixated on my own oc-verses at the moment but i would still like to finish my psych drag fic or at least write Something psych. and i should definitely delve into the horrors of severance once season two comes out

another low hanging fruit but i always say i'm a wonder. there's just something about that one that still hits. maybe it's in part that i always think of that fic while listening to the song, and. frankly. i should revisit it at some point to see if i could develop it more

Rant/Vent Post:
My twin sister and exception attempted suicide the other day. The last few days have been incredibly stressful, and for the first few nights, no one was sure if she'd pull through. Currently, she's getting more stable and verbally coherent, but she's lost the use of her legs. Clinicians aren't sure yet if that'll ever return.
I have some thoughts on all of this that I can't really share socially or with family right now, so I'm just going to put them here.
First off, the way she attempted was... dramatic. Like, movie main-character dramatic. It wasn't a cry for help, that's already come and gone. This was a genuine attempt and I'm not looking to invalidate that. But she texted everyone highly emotional goodbyes, posted on all of her social media, and the method used just pointed to wanting to go out with a bang for a finale.
On that note, I've made observations my entire life about the people around me that Main Character Syndrome™️ is out of control, not only with this generation, but with generations prior. I also deal with it.
My sister is maybe the biggest weeb I've ever known; she watches anime like it's crack or heroin. It's gotten to the point that she's expressed to me that it's difficult to think of scenarios that aren't in anime format. In other words, her schema and worldview have been almost totally shaped by anime. She's been an anime fan since we were 4ish years old. It's consumed her world.
I think that maybe this was a chunk of why this happened. Not all of the reason, maybe not even a good chunk, but a contributing factor at the very least.
Think of it this way: someone who reads a lot of romance novels and watches a lot of romance movies is shocked by the hard truths of intimate relationships, they're poorly adapted to the reality of relationships, and they've created unrealistic expectations that cannot and never will be met. They'll be left with a void that some author's daydream put there of a world that doesn't exist. Someone who grows up watching DBZ, action movies, badass protagonists, playing video games where the player character is next to immortal, might have their worldview shattered when they can't John Wick their way out of a situation that they started and wind up in the hospital or worse.
In saying this, I'm not saying that anime is the devil. What I'm curious about is to what extent the media we consume affects our worldview, and how much of it is healthy. Media in the form of fiction has been a part of our collective history since we originated. I'm not saying it's inherently negative -- hero stories go as far back as Odysseus and Gilgamesh. It's ingrained in us. But I can't help but shake the feeling that something, culture maybe, shifted at some point (idek how many generations ago) that has led us to this point that I see at least some narcissism in everyone, but especially in the younger generations. It's difficult to find people my own age who aren't competitive; where it feels like this room isn't big enough for the both of us. This is become endemic to our species. We're evidently killing ourselves when reality doesn't and can't meet the expectations set on us by TV shows, movies, video games, animes, etc.
Idk it's just a thought I had.
Side note: recently, while trying to improve my condition, I've become a major fan of media in which the protagonist is just... a dude. Shows where there are multiple protaganists and any might die or fail at any moment. I've especially gotten into playing the Soulsbourne series because it checks me. I've become a major fan of ego-checks, and think we could all use a good ass kick in whatever department we're too proud of ourselves in. This world needs a major dose of humility.

i get the point they're trying to make but they're guilt trippy and ultimately don't end up solving the issue they think they're solving. (i'm assuming we're talking about the human rights posts that are all like "if you don't reblog this you're a monster!!" etc etc.) yes it's important to speak up about issues but by telling people they Have To Reblog This Or Else it just... scares people into supporting something without going through the critical thinking about it. at least that's how i see it. you can't truly support something if you don't understand wtf you're talking about. reblogging something like that for the sake of reblogging it is just... well it's performative.

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
Right now I'm mainly writing for another fandom, Hollow Knight. I started a really chill project in which I explore post-canon events of one of the endings. I've posted 4 chapters, I'm halfway through the 5th out of 16-20 chapters? Since this isn't the fandom this work belongs to I won't dwell for too long, but I can talk about it more in my HK sideblog (@fungal-wasted) (I'm a little desperate i need to talk about it)
FOR THIS FANDOM: I have been delaying a Chara essay for far too long skgkdjf I also have some thoughts related to Frisk in neutral endings, and a Pre canon Sans and Toriel fic that had lived in my brain for A While but I have not written because idk how to start.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
PFFFT. So I barely consider myself a writer but I've actually spent a lot of time thinking about writing or telling stories. This is long but hopefully not tedious to read!!
8 year old me would write in the format of a play (with formal notations and all) about my first OCs. They were average for a kid that age to be honest. I remember one was named Carmín. Whatever. I just wrote because it was fun to make stories. I also hated reading so not even my old self would have cared about the story lol.
9-11 I had some self insert OCs who were 3 sisters and they went to a lot of vague fantasy places. Never wrote a story down, just had very vivid images and I'd talk to myself roleplaying my characters... Man i was a little weird. It's OK though. It was fun.
By 12-14 i got into Wattpad. I was into Heroes of Olympus and got introduced to fanfiction there. There were also my first attempts at translation and they weren't great but i had a lot of readers. It improved my English inmensively, despite it all. I was into YA literature but I was a bit dumb, not too critical and ashamed about it.
15-18 pure silence. I read some stuff, wrote nothing and I thought I was cringy, I also left Wattpad for the most part, knew about AO3 but rarely frequented it...
And now we're here. I started writing fic regularly whenever I'd get an idea to share, or a scene in my mind that I wanted to portray and add to the piles of fic that sometimes didn't have what I was looking for. It also became a good chance to understand conversations, intent and such better and to have an outlet for all my thoughts. I also like writing essays or such on occasion. OH and it was a chance to write in English too and practice!!
The biggest bumps are when you feel the structure of your story shaking under the weight of inconsistency and or lack of a way to address what you want and have the desired effect.
Now I like both character studies and worldbuilding, and that's what my writing tries to do! I'm also trying to get back into translation (check out @tortadecuchufli ). I want to try out different things and maybe branch out to original writing at some point in the future but who knows.

I'll be fine tho guys normally i pull an all nighter friday night or am up super late, am up all day saturday til like 1-3am then i go to sleep and sleep for like 12-15 hours on sunday, and have a normal sleep schedule (i count it as normal because i still get enough sleep) monday-thursday. I guess im a normal person because like,,,im so like,,,chill during the week then i have like a crazy fuckin weekend that leaves me sleeping all day sunday. Either this is normal fr or normal on tumblr. Idk.
I wanna watch a candle flame buuut im not gonna get up bc i think my granddad is awake and he'll hear me walking around and come tell me to sleep. Though, i do tell him if its past 6am that i woke up at 6, had to use the bathroom, and couldnt go back to sleep after, but its only 5:43. Time to watch candleflame gifs lol
