Caine is an antagonist, but not by active choice, he doesn't know he's not helping. He doesn't feel a whole spectrum of human emotions (he's an AI).
"Caine canonically just lets things happen if he thinks it's funny."
Characters eat like Chao in Chao garden in Sonic. The characters can eat the food, but they can't digest it.
Jax's favorite food is spaghetti.
Pomni likes salmon.
Q "Was the ending a 'Last Supper' reference?" A "in a very superficial kinda way yeah." Religious stuff is sometimes just used for the funny.
Gooseworx tumblr sketches MAY or MAY NOT be canon to the series, so it's up in the air for every single one.
People can abstract from feeling too much pain if it breaks their mind from it being too much. Characters feel pain from things, but not as intensely as they would in real life.
Zooble is gonna swap parts every episode (implying they have spare parts) except their body & head.
Jax chose his own name & gooseworx likes to think he chose Gangle's name.
Ragatha was named "Emmy" originally.
They (the cast of characters trapped in the circus) can't change their clothes but Caine can. It's part of their skin sorta kinda.
There's empty space under Pomni's hat because video game model physics.
Spamton was partially inspo for Caine, Caine's VA did Spamton dubs.
Gangle only has 2 masks. Why's it (her hapiness mask) break all the time? Mental state, but the "real her" is "harder to break."
Kaumfo was gonna be part of the main cast originally before Jax.
Kaufmo's model has nothing below the waist at this time, but was made for that promotional image on twitter.
Q "What kinda person was Kaufmo?" A "He was the same as Ragatha in a sense, goofy & cheery, sometimes toxic levels of positivity."

i have to say its a strange experience taking classes on branding and marketing while being vehemently anticapitalist and scorning the economic system

as much as it sucks on sheer principle that tumblr is dipping into the AI kool-aid, i feel like it'll impact the aesthetic blog side of the site wayyy more than folks who draw. and aesthetic bloggers already treat photography like an infinite resource of stealable content, so idk how much of a difference it'll make in the grand scheme of things. i think we'll witness a dystopian development where aesthetic photosets get increasingly ungrounded from reality. generating totally unreal slop that vaguely resembles "cottagecore" or "dark academia" or "vaporwave," but the longer you squint at it, the more you realize you can't fully grasp any object in the image, and it becomes just sludge emulating sludge emulating sludge

Alright, my Amazing Digital Circus hot-off-the-presses theory is that there is no escape. They're stuck in there forever because there's no where else for them to go.
We see the computer that houses the circus, and the headset that Pomni describes having worn before showing up there. Conspicuously missing is the actual body of Pomni. Or anyone else, for that matter. The implication SEEMS to be that this machine houses the entire circus, rather than this being an online experience hosted on a server. What I'm saying is this seems like less of a Sword Art Online experience and more of a Soma one. I think that headset takes a brain scan of whoever wears it and downloads a digital version of their consciousness.
It makes the reveal of the sheer number of people who have "abstracted" and completely lost themselves make more sense to me. You'd think the authorities would hear about it if a ton of people went missing, or went insane, or went completely brain-dead while wearing these headsets. But if the people out in the real world are completely fine and continue living their normal lives, then who cares about the endless suffering of their digital counterparts?
It also makes the entire concept of a consciousness abstracting make more sense to me if characters are coded onto the machine rather than hosted by an actual living brain. A character who "goes insane" and has corruptions and aberrations in their code could start glitching like that.
So yeah that's my hot take. An exit can't take them anywhere because there's nowhere else to go. There is only circus.

It's past 11 on a school night and I'm fucking crying over robot sentience.
I could never understand what it would feel like to be created with the intent to kill and maim. Maybe, the intent to work and be worked, but not kill and maim.
I will never understand what it's like to be created with the intention of being a product for the masses, either. I think, I hope, I beg, no one does.
I will never ever be able to fully comprehend why hours of people's work, time, and money would be put into formulating my sentience only for me to be seen as disposable. Even if I could be improved, even if I were "defective", there is no reasonable justification for giving me emotions only to dismiss them by pushing me as a product for a year before starting anew.
It's... It's cruel, to the machines. Sentient or not, it's cruel. Though, I guess we are cruel.

What are your thoughts on the twins (mis)communicating about whether to dish their secret to save Arima?
Ohhhh that’s a hard one!
I honestly don’t really a side for which twin in correct, cause in a sense, they’re both in the wrong.
The most obvious one is Aqua, my boy went behind Ruby’s back and exposed they’re mother’s secrete without consultation at all. And his defense being that he vaguely explained it to her in an ominous question about protecting her friends.
To give him the benefit of the doubt, it seemed like his goal was to make Ruby dislike him because of it, and pulled the same apathetic attitude he did with Akane when breaking up with her, so we can assume he had a larger goal here given that he could have handled it a lot better and we’ve seen that hes capable of it. ( to add to that thought, he leaked the information when Ruby previously said how much she hated leakers in chapter 93 )
While it was wrong what Aqua did, Ruby is shown to be especially childish here. While Aqua’s question was vague, she did agree to do anything to help her friend. But in the argument, she barley mentioned Kana’s scandal at all and focused on Aqua’s “betrayal” of their Mom’s image. While acknowledging that they’re little to no bad points to what he did and only helped the twins in their popularity. And sadly Ai is still dead, and the protection of her friend should be important enough to sacrifice Ai’s image.
We can also mention she’s being hypocritical here. She got mad at Aqua for doing anything for popularity, while she has done the exact same thing and gained most of her popularity from underhanded methods that she was getting so mad at Aqua about. In their previous argument in chapter 93, we also see that she told him that she would do almost anything to be popular and get to the dome like Ai. And wouldn’t a scandal with on of bkomatchis members affect if they would go or not?
Honestly I really hope they make up soon, as a Hoshino twins focused account this was a slap in the face, but at least they’re interacting???😭

Touchstarved as DnD?
Disclaimer! I really only know Dungeons & Dragons via Baldur’s Gate, but this is how I imagine each Touchstarved LI would class. BG3 doesn’t have every class, so I’m just using the ones I know from the game. Please feel free to reblog with your own ideas and headcanons if you have (hehe) insight!
Kuras= Cleric, if the nunnery doubled as a med school. I think it would fit because of the cleric class's use for healing and all the religious themes around it — and Kuras is a doctor and an angel. And according to a friend of mine more experienced in DnD, clerics are one of the most powerful classes in your party. That seems fitting with how Kuras might actually be one of the most powerful in the main 5.
Leander= Sorcerer-Bard. Sorcerers are spellcasters that have inherent magic in their bloodline. Isn’t he from a Highborn family known for their magic users? And wasn’t it mentioned that he’s a gifted mage? Anyway, it seems like powerful magic comes naturally to him — for now. Maybe it’s actually a warlock situation, where some other entity is giving him his powers, because he wasn’t born with magic, maybe his gift is a lie and he had to make deal to be able to wield powerful magic like everyone expects him to and whoa, this isn’t the post for theories like this, back to classes—Bards are also spellcasters they are known for their charm, storytelling, and performance. Leander is a charmer and a performer — I’m not sure if he’s a musician, but his ability to command the attention of a crowd and weave any narrative is very bard-like.
Vere= Druid-Rogue. Druid might be a bit of a cheap shot, it’s…it’s because animal. XD Druids’ powers are connected to nature — they can shapeshift into animals. And Vere appears to have a fox beast form that he transforms into, judging by his shadow. I wasn’t going to put him in Rogue class, but his ability to pickpocket MC in the demo? That’s stealth and dexterity proficiency at play. And judging by the tour of Eridia post, he seems to break into places (Kuras’s clinic) often, which is classic rogue activity.
Ais= Warlock-Barbarian. Barbarian for the rage — all those hints about Ais’s calm surface hiding a great depth of emotions and how he can lose control of them — and warlock because it seems like he has a deal with Ocudeus, similar to warlocks and their patrons (from what I understand, warlocks make a contract with a magical being for their powers).
Mhin= Druid-Rogue. I’ve heard of a Bloodhunter which might fit them more, but I don’t know much about it, unfortunately. I put down rogue because they seem to be good at ambush hunting and sneaking in the demo, both important to how a rogue fights. And as for the druid part, they seem to have a beast form like Vere.
As for the Touchstarved MCs, based on each backstory, it seems like Unnamed would be a Cleric, Hound would be a Rogue, and Alchemist would be a Wizard.
