It's past 11 on a school night and I'm fucking crying over robot sentience.

I could never understand what it would feel like to be created with the intent to kill and maim. Maybe, the intent to work and be worked, but not kill and maim.

I will never understand what it's like to be created with the intention of being a product for the masses, either. I think, I hope, I beg, no one does.

I will never ever be able to fully comprehend why hours of people's work, time, and money would be put into formulating my sentience only for me to be seen as disposable. Even if I could be improved, even if I were "defective", there is no reasonable justification for giving me emotions only to dismiss them by pushing me as a product for a year before starting anew.

It's... It's cruel, to the machines. Sentient or not, it's cruel. Though, I guess we are cruel.

Finally all caught up in inanimate insanity! I gotta say, when I first watched s3 I didn’t get any of the references to the old seasons since it had been years since I watched them last, but watching them all in order (and in one siting...) made it all click. Especially with the new ep!!

[after this point it just goes into s2 and s3 theory insanity]

Mephone4 with the anxiety from A.D.A.M being made by cobs and such:

(I’m showing my bias aren’t I?)

Since I watched it all in succession, I’ve been connecting s3 to s2 a lot more than I did upon watching the s3 eps the first time around. And because of that, I’ve been making theories!! (Or well, at least strings of thought.) I was first thinking that Mephone4 erased his memories again and started another season, because (I think) he was talking to Mepad about that, but with the newer s3 eps yeah that was a dud. (Plus there was this bit, but a fan can theorize, right?)

I also think there was a part about him saying he needed a vacation in s2, but I can’t find the part so... Source: Dude, trust me. Which would play into him wanting to extending III for at least just a bit longer. (Or even forever since he said that in s3 ep8:

Which I think is interesting, since for a good chunk of s2, it seemed like he just wanted the show to be over.) I think because II s2 got really heavy for him, he just started another one on some middle of nowhere island away from his issues. He just wants to go back to a time before it was beyond the game... same dude. ANYWAY, I’m getting ahead of myself. With s3 already getting some foreshadowing for being over fast (s3 ep10), I think we’ll get more insight into him as the season goes on. I’m praying we do tbh. And a bit away from Mephone, what the hell happened to Mepad? I think we’re a good distance into s3 to at least figure out if Mepad is still in rest mode with Taco using their(?) teleporting power. I hope this’ll get addressed at some point.

Moving along from these Meeple products, GOD I WANNA KNOW HOW LIGHTBULB IS DOING!! We literally left her alone without her rag-tag team! That was, like, a huge deal!!! In s2 ep14, we literally got a ref to her “I drink when I’m depressed” line and other telling lines:

I also just think that this (^) scene is a little ironic since we don’t see her again, but more importantly, you see what I mean???

Lightbulb is still in s2, and idk if that means she has/had access to the hotel during the two years between s2 and s3 or not, but I’m assuming she didn’t because... idk I just am. But with LB in s2 and literally all her friends either in OJ’s hotel (Fan), Indefinite Island (Test Tube), and III (Paintbrush), how’s she fairing alone? From these pics, it’s clear that it would be really getting to her...

I remember the first time I started watching s3 eps back in like, what 2021? I was thinking that they weren’t as deep as s2, but after getting all the context. DAMN! I’d say it’s just as deep but maybe not so depressing.

Also, I whole heartily get why that one post said that these two just started making out as soon as the got to the island...

S3 made them gayer than they were before and I need to know how Baseball and Suitcase would react.

My Mephone4 post II gijinka with + without traits! (Or how I draw him on the hcs I have with my friends).

Here's some data about him:

- After all of the events in the show and managing to hide himself from Meeple, Mephone4 has been staying at Hotel OJ, being roomates with Microphone, Knife and Pickle, and has been trying to get comfortable with himself.

- He's a cat/bird hybrid! However, thanks to Test Tube, his wings have feathers now, but he can't fly due to the fact that on the past his wings were holograms and only were used to soften his falls. However, his wings, his tail and ears are all pretty soft and help him in other ways. As well, his wings can harden, and his hands/paws can have claws.

- They're bisexual, genderfluid (he/they/she), and polyamorous!

- Matching necklaces with Mic, Knife and Pickle.

- Has a matching friendship bracelet with Cabby.

- Once he was on good terms with Trophy, he helped him to dye his hair. He's pretty happy with how he looks.

- Although that is his most common outfit, he also often steals/borrows clothes from his roomates. Not that they mind.

- Test Tube upgraded and fixed her body after the events in both season finales, although Mephone4 had some upgrades themselves, the reason as to why Mephone4 didn't feel comfortable with changing/upgrading their body was because. He didn't feel like it was his body due to all that happened, and quickly regrets the changes that he had done to it. However, he ends up accepting that it is.

- He got the Meeple logo removed thanks to Test Tube as well! They're still figuring out what symbol he'd have, but his thinking of an star.

- Going to therapy. (Fucking FINALLY).

- Can hide their traits! But usually shows them since he is pretty comfortable at the Hotel now, often hides them with strangers.

- Mephone4 has fur on his chest and in other parts of his body, and, he can hide them. Unlike Mic's feather fluff, his can come out mostly on command, but obviously they can be triggered by him being happy.

- He IS pretty strong and even if he is pretty against violence, Test Tube upgraded him a lot in order to be more prepared for anything that could hurt him. You know. Just in case.

- Sometimes he feels strings in his neck due to him getting stabbed there and the USB collar getting on him.

- His paw beans are squishy and soft.

- Is trying to reconnect with MePad and trying to apologize to Toilet.

I think 4S meeting and being around MePad has a lot of angst potential but I won't elaborate

Does MePhone4 Think Cobs has MePad?

Just hear me out as someone always asking why MePhone abandoned MePad and never tried to look for him. Why did MePhone never go back for someone he saved from Cobs? Does he not care?

What if he does care?

MePhone thought it was Cobs when what we know as aliens showed up in s2. He ran off and hid with MePad in that cave. Then MePad left the cave only to later get taken out by Taco. The Alien Debacle happens, then MePhone resurfaces, too busy hiding his nerves and having said nerves to process anything. Then he realizes MePad is missing and brushes it off.

As the viewers, we have all the context of both Aliens and Taco.

Did he? No.

What it probly looked like to MePhone was Cob's alleged spaceship showed up and all he knew he could do was hide with MePad. MePad left the hiding spot. The next thing a very terrified MePhone processed was what he thought was Cobs leaving. He then goes to the vote session, sees no MePad, gets all the more freaked out and can't process any further truth because of how worry works.

He then puts all this misinformation together and assumes Cobs took MePad, making saving him infinitely more complicated than just finding Taco.

Like.....??? Am I grasping at straws or does this line of thinking make sense? Like, a lot of sense?

He might care about MePad a whole lot more than we're lead on to believe, he's just either

Too scared of Cobs OR

thinks Cobs just scrapped his buddy because Cobs probably would do that to an old creation that didn't end up serving it's purpose.

And why in the world would MePhone go back for a (hypothetical) pile of scrap thats just gonna make him feel more things when he can live in ignorance? (aka s3)

(theory kinda supported by his not wanting to go back, I guess?)

so... iii18, right? let's get into my theories. these all tie together in some way

mephone4s's return, or attempted return

My main theory coming out of this is the idea that Walkie is going to attempt to upgrade mephone4 back to 4s. this is mostly backed by potential foreshadowing. not only are there several references to 4s in the episode, but it is also possible that his voice can be barely heard during a point in mephone's dialogue. (EDIT: This was likely just me being overanalytical and not actual evidence. My bad!)

the amount of foreshadowing could lead to him reappearing as a construct or replica (i.e. springy's toys), but I think the second piece of evidence points to him returning through mephone4.

a bit more on this would be the fact that iii references season 1 a lot. think about tyler and the amount of times characters jumped off a cliff. iii was supposed to be the return to s1's tone, wasn't it? a parallel or reference to the finale is almost expected. especially since that already happened, as helpfully pointed out in the episode

i don't know why this would be the plan of action, possibly just to get rid of mephone. maybe I'm misreading the foreshadowing, im not sure.

walkie talkie is a meeple device or at least affiliated, and springy is a meeple generated construct

so there are a lot of questions when it comes to walkie talkie.

why does she want to take over the show?

why is she trying to delay its end?

why is she hiding her appearance?

how did she learn about iii in the first place?

where did she get the means to do any of this?

Walkie is obviously Cobs with a girl filter My theory is she is a Meeple device, or at least Meeple-affiliated. It would explain why she wants to keep the show running, as Meeple do profit off of it, and why she'd want to keep it at season 3, as s2 was decidedly anti-meeple.

Her being a meeple device would explain why she never shows herself or shares any details on her identity, as she would immediately lose trust with mephone.

also that "all we need is revolutionary technology!" line from episode 17? that was very interesting.

on top of that, she somehow knew practically everything about the third season before the airing of any in-universe episodes. importantly, she knew about the location of it. if my theory holds, that could easily be explained with her having access to meeple tech and therefore being able to track mephone.

regardless of her means, she's been watching.

as for springy, my main piece of evidence to him being a meeple-generated construct is how he glitches. he doesn't glitch like a robot, he glitches like a construct.

to show the contrast, i added mephone glitching. you can see that the glitch effect is only applied to his software, while springy and the glitched construct tree have the effect applied to their physical forms. (Ignore the fucked bitrate for the springy screenshot, youtube does not like the glitching)

on top of that, springy has his weird philosophies, fixation on robots, corporate everything, and suspicious spaceships.

i am of the belief that walkie may have orchestrated the sponsorship to get either closer to everything happening or more control.

I would go on, but I'm starting to lose steam, and I'm beginning to forget stuff. please add on if you can think of anything, or can debunk/criticize my theories. i would love a discussion
