m*a*s*h reaction post released from my drafts!! i don't know why i have been worried about making a Good Post when legitimately everything that could ever be said about this show has been said.

so i will SHARE MY THOUGHTS ABOUT SEASON THREE currently in progress:

i'm falling more in love with everyone, details to follow

top of the list: trapper my bestie has been promoted to trapper my legit fictional crush 💕

don't get me wrong, in real life i would slap his face, but i'm with hot lips on this one. the hair, the smile, every time he takes off his shirt... take me to the supply tent or lose me forever

HOWEVER, i happened to notice that he is not on the header pic on hulu* and none of you talk about him so i must regretfully conclude that he will eventually leave the show

DON'T TELL ME WHEN

anyway i am cherishing him as one cherishes an old dog not long for this world

*speaking of hulu: i have now joined the henry blake appreciation society thanks to this One Weird Trick (reupping my hulu account for a month because i lost my shit after the dvds cut out at the climax of an episode AGAIN)

i went back to rewatch the episodes that didn't play on the dvds, and turns out a lot of them were henry eps (including the trial of henry blake and the one where he is waiting for news about his new baby...) (and also the one where he fell in love with a cheerleader but you can’t win ‘em all)

just in time to appreciate that scene in "o.r." where he tells hawkeye he doesn't want to be discharged so that he can keep doing real doctoring 🥺

"o.r." had so many good character bits!! even frank got some depth?? or at least an explanation for why he's Like That...

other eps i liked:

"iron guts kelly" -- felt like a follow-up to the one last season where hot lips got wasted and broke up with frank and then hawkeye and trapper had to sober her up, which i also loved! "we hate her but she's OURS to hate" is such a good character dynamic.

also lmao every time she cheats on frank, GET YOURS GIRL 😘

the frank/margaret thing is strangely compelling actually? it's like an inverse ship for real. will-they-or-won't-they but for breaking up. same energy though, like i'm glued to the screen rooting for them to fight instead of kiss.

"check-up" i was sooooo brave you guys making peace with the situation BUT THEN TRAPPER STAYED!!! i feel like my crush has been given a stay of execution

i don't know if i ship it per se but i really hope he and margaret hook up exactly once and literally everyone regrets it

i've seen some more episodes and have more thoughts but i need to lie down a lot first

oh one more thing:

i realize "m*a*s*h actors amazing" is not breaking news, but i'm specifically obsessed right now with how they are always interacting with props. i don't even mean the o.r. tools or scripted things, but how in every scene they're doing comedy while also moving crap around, pouring things, drinking, shaving, changing clothes, handing (or THROWING) things to each other, just making a mess all the time while still hitting their lines and comic beats. it's a master class in whatever that is.

Omg hello Cam nation life has been wild but I wanna be on here more LOL I have two fics in the works rn (one Cora<3 and one Asahi <3 I have really been on my large and scary looking but actually loser sweetheart man kick lately <333) so hopefully spring break brings me creative energy or refreshes me so post-spring break me gets a creative streak

ANYWAYS

I started this post off half an edible last night and now am having a margarita at the airport since my flight got delayed💀 and since life has been crazy so the self ship brain rot has been INSANE lately esp bc me and one of my besties rewatched a bunch of HQ!! lately so I've been thinking about Asahi and am about to share all these ideas<3 I'm putting in undercut feel free to interact or share any of your self ships

We def met in class like some elective literature course. Our majors are so different with me being in anthropology and him in fashion school we both would pick some random historical literature class just to do something different and get out of our own departments. It would take at least half the semester for us to star talking though. I am notorious for a little classroom crush so I fell in love on sight, constantly talked about him to my friends, constantly had my friends asking if I had talked to him yet, stalked his Instagram to learn about him, etc. And though Asahi has a better grip on his anxiety when in college, he's still prone to anxious habits and after how people saw him in high school as "scary" he is not one to put himself out there. So he ends up having a lil classroom crush on me as the days go by and as I speak out more in class. I love a good chance to talk which I think he'd admire and it would make him fall for me. Half way through the semester I would finally make the move by asking him to be my partner on the newest assignment for the class. We'd both just be standing there like "holy fuck this hot person is talking to me" but not realize that the other is thinking it too LMAO. But you know as time went on and we got closer (being project partners meant the BEST reason to get his number see I be PLANNING) and I finally worked up the courage to ask him on a date and he said yes<33

Once finally in a relationship I feel like we'd have to opposite of a honeymoon phase. The first few months would be very awkward and we both overthink to the max so we'd be very scared of upsetting the other. After some time thought we'd finally have a nerve wracking yet honest conversation to actually establish boundaries, what we need, etc and like never have a relationship problem again. And that's when we both realize how much words of affirmations are both our love languages so we get comfortable being sappy<33 like we’re SO that couple saying cutesy shit 24/7 and leaving lil notes for each other on the mirror or in each other’s backpacks etc!! And we’re both not really PDA people so it balances perfectly😝

We have the same music taste for SURE like we both love some indie, mountain music I’m talking Briston Maroney, Noah Kahan, Backseat Lovers, etc we are both men with anxiety so this genre speaks to us🙏 However, Asahi does not understand the Lana hype but still supports me LOL sometimes I just have to cosplay a woman in a toxic relationship on the west coast (all things I’m just not💀) and he’s learned to let me have my fun after some reassurance that I just like the music and don’t actually think of him as bad (he’s too precious pls)

We are SO interested in each other’s line of work like I’m always excited over his sketches and pieces he’s making!!! And I’m always asking him a million questions about the process and all he does!! And on the same coin he’s always so fascinated with my research my main focus is on Pacific Archaeology so I always give him TedTalks™️ on everything he loves it!! I also intern at a museum so he’s always asking me questions about it. And a lot of what I’ve been lately at the museum is fashion history, so I love to tell him all about it!!

We compliment each other perfectly bc I’m very bubbly and outgoing!! So I’m very much a conversationalist and sometimes people think bc of that and my size that they can walk all over me. This is where Asahi’s natural intimation comes into play once mfs see him they KNOW not to fuck around. And on the other side, due to my extroverted nature I can easily jump into a conversation Asahi is actively trying to step away from without being rude. I feel like he gets quickly drained from strangers but I can talk to anyone for hours so I step him. This also is helpful bc I easily can make reservations and really any other scenario where he’s feeling too shy to directly say what he’s thinking/needs. I also am not afraid to fight for refunds and shit so he’s happy to let me take the wheel LOL

I just know we’d both get along with one another friends SO well😝 on that note Suga and I are so stoner buddies (you can’t tell me college suga didn’t smoke). Asahi would rarely smoke but when he does he just goes lol nonverbal and gets cuddly. Which honestly works good bc I just get happy and yap once again that perfect balance💗‼️

Most of our dates are just chill dates. We watch a LOT of TV together between anime and cooking shows and documentaries we just love a good lay in bed watching TV time. When we go out, it’s to museums and cafes!! We try and go to a cutey local coffee shop at least once a week just to get out. Sometimes it turns into homework dates or reading dates but mostly we just sit and talk and enjoy the fact there’s no rush. I currently have a coffee sticker book so he makes sure I always get a sticker when at new places🥺 I always switch up what I get but Asahi always gets a cappuccino and we usually split a lil pastry (usually I can talk him into buying multiple to try tho hehe)

I keep him updated on all the stupid TikTok drama bc I get disgustedly invested and that app can make me so mad so I go on RANTS about people being stupid it just always makes him laugh he thinks I’m just the most lovely thing all fired up even if it’s over something so unreal. I’m also OBSESSED with that Bistro Huddy tiktok series that is literally just one guy idk it’s SO good I make him watch it with me all the time LOL

Overall we are in love love🥰😝🥰

also I understand that this Mal Darkling fight is completely fanservice and serves nearly no purpose to the plot in general but like I? love it?

am I glad that they showed Darkles in this state with his nichevo'ya as a tasty little cliffhanger despite not being entirely true to the source material? maybe but only because Ben Barnes saying 'follow' and the nichevo'ya doing exactly so sent a chill down my spine

well, that's it for now, I'll have to move on I guess, get back to my real life which I'm obviously not ready to do

HI BC ANON so good to hear from u! BUT NOT THE RANDOS IN CLASS KNOWING Y/N AND LOKI ARE SLEEPING TOGETHER 😭😭 Listen Loki and y/n are so smart and academic yes yes but they um. You know they might not be as slick as they think lololol

And yes,,,, Wanda,,, I will admit every time I write a chapter with Wanda I daydream about her. Just as a treat. Like I've said before I really have tried to make their relationship read more platonic because I know it was coming off Not That Way but I also just think Wanda has so much (familial) love for her friends and is overall very gentle + would be this kind/physical with anyone she cares about. That's part of the reason she and Nat work (in asis that is) - because Wanda is a great way to balance out Nat's overall adversity to affection. Wanda is the first person asis Nat has been in *romantic* love with and I think Wanda would be a great person to explore that with :') I just reallyyyyyy appreciate Wanda's willingness to be unabashedly affectionate. It's what the reader needs at this point in her life and Wanda is the absolute best for just... being the way that she is.

As for if she's American, I honestly haven't thought of it! She is a transfer student, which was briefly mentioned when she was introduced to asis, but I never specified from where. I certainly picture asis Wanda as MCU Wanda (mostly because I physically picture everyone else as their MCU counterparts so it'd be weird to not think of her as the same), but at this point, I'm not sure how similar their characters are (I haven't actually seen WandaVision lol. I think you can tell this fic was written before the show came out because of WandaNat). I feel like this is a middle ground Wanda, one who is mature, grounded, and comfortable with herself, but is also still somewhat reserved/shy. I think because she conforms the least of anyone in asis to a specific comic arc or MCU interpretation, it's up to the reader to decide where she might be from. Sorry if that's a cop out answer :/

AND OH YEAH BABY THE LOKI CHAPTER. OH YEAHHHHHHH just you wait BC anon. I have two more scenes to write but like. It's devastating in terms of Loki of course but I slipped the most gut wrenching heart breaking detail about Narvi's life pre Loki that I just KNOW if going to wreck y'all. It's just. WHEW is what it is it's a whew! I don't want to hype the chapter up too much but I really do think it's probably going to be everybody's favorite (if they enjoy angst, at least). I'm just...

- Three ships: let it be known that i had to look through my blog in order to figure out three ships to mention lmao. anyway i came up with: 1) zelda/link (botw). i find the only het couples i get into are ones that are either inherently sad or incredibly healthy & this one is both! love that for them. also feeling the feminine urge for botw 2 to come out 2) princess bubblegum/marceline the vampire queen (adventure time). i tried to watch through the entire show last year & want to get back into it bc obsidian fucking SLAPS dude. they are married and there's nothing you can do about it!!! 3) eve polastri/villanelle | oksana astankova (killing eve). lowkey wanna rewatch killing eve just to see this mess of a relationship again. good shit great shit

- Last Film: i can't remember if the last film i watched was cam (2018) or the french dispatch (2021) so i'll list them both. i've been meaning to watch other movies this year but *gestures vaguely at pile of work & lack of motivation*

- Currently Reading: i have to read timon of athens and twelfth night for a few classes rn. otherwise it's mostly just been fanfics for a fandom i don't wanna talk about on main or the heart of a stranger: an anthology of exile literature which i've been trying to read for like. two years now lmao

- Currently consuming: honestly a bit hard to answer? my brain's a bit scattered at the moment so everything i mentioned above & like. the shows i'm trying to binge through, so desperate housewives and criminal minds. also on the brink of relistening to tmg's beat the champ album bc i listened to "choked out" again recently and i remembered how hard it slaps

Adding onto brigids thoughts:

Okk so half of us pass out in the Uber that we take to the airport, so everybody is just holding onto each other barely awake or literally just fall asleep on you while waiting in line to get to security. Hehe ofc Ryan gets lost, and he’s like panic calling us and I just start laughing at him through phone. But then he finds us and I get beeped at security as usual and he’s chirping me and he gets beeped too and I chirp him, so it gets a bit chaotic at security.

Look at you brigid being organized and not over packing anything. I do the same thing to I just always add extra everything hehe. Hehe yes ‘Quinner how do you have more shit then me’ quinner likes pack extra as well hehe . We have a mini competition to see who brought more clothes lol.

Okkk everybody, Brigid has chosen, she is officially Jamie’s girl :)). Anywayssss you and Jamie are just sleeping and cuddling each other. You are in Jamie’s hoodie 🥺. Kesh and Kirby are also cuddling each other. Aww yes I’m in Quinners beanie !!. So far me and Ryan aren’t chirping you lol cuz it’s reallyyyyy early.

I wear a hoodie and sweats as well or for my bday my brother bought me a really cute sweatsuit so I might wear that lol. But I would love to wear Quinners 😌hehe we get on the plane and it’s you + Dylan and cozzy and Jamie sees and gets jealous ‘no Jamie I just got comfortable’ ‘please cozzy she’s my GIRLFRIEND’ and cozzy gets mildly terrified and says ‘only for $50’ so that happens and Jamie is super happy that he gets to sit with you. Hehe me and Ryan chirp you guys. Ok so I’m behind you, Jamie and Dylan. Then quinton, Braden and Peyton are behind my row. Kesh and Kirby are just sitting away from everybody because they aren’t ready to deal w us yet lol.

You+ Jamie +dyl. Okk so you are watching an action movie. Dylan falls asleep real quick, and you see that he’s in an uncomfy position so you just help him get more comfortable. So now that Dylan’s passed out Jamie cuddles up to you and you start playing with his hair and he loves it and it’s making him fall asleep but he’s still trying to stay awake because he wants to be w you. But you reassure him and help him get comfortable. You wrap him in a blanket hehe. Brigid you have a hard situation here because you have two hockey players asleep on you. After a bit they wake up to eat and make you rewatch the movie and your like why do I have to I didn’t pass out. Oo uno is fun, same with poker. But Jamie gets bored and just starts to braid your hair while you play with Dylan. Also when Jamie wakes up he whisper ‘thank you baby’ and you give him a kiss. Oo also while he’s sleeping you trace his freckles 🥺.

Kesh and Kirby are just chilling and being adorable. They both just make sure that they are comfy. Top tier couple.

Lexi+quinner(+Ryan)- hehe yes Quinner is immune to coffee even after drinking his two cups and half of mine. We made Ryan carry the drinks cuz we are clumsyyyyy. Awww yes, I’m vv in my Quinner feels tonight so Quinner falls asleep on me and I cuddle him and play with his hair because I am not giving back that beanie. I’ll make sure he’s comfy and all. Haha yes me and Ryan are just super loud and competitive w the game we are playing, probably uno, poker or connect 4 lol. And you turn to us and say ‘guys can you shut up, Jamie and everyone is sleeping’ and we are like ‘ok and?’ And you chirp us and we chirp you back until we realize that we really don’t want to wake everybody up lol. Ya I get up a lot on the plane so Ryan and I and you would just be walking along the aisles hehe. Ryan gets tired eventually and passes out and Quinner wakes up and we have some cute moments🥺. We just cuddle and I lay my head on his shoulder and he kisses my mild freckles.

Let’s say we are in first class cuz we got good salaries lol and we really need the leg room since we tall. Airplane food isn’t to bad. But the snacks would be elite. I’ll make sure to get our snacks brigid cuz we have similar tastes in snacks :)). Hehe yes I keep stealing snacks from them, and then get hungry and ask me to give you some but I get annoyed lol. So the y start throwing the snacks and accidentally hit Jamie and Dylan in the head but thankfully they didn’t notice.

Okkkk so now the captain announced that we are landing in like 10 mins and everybody is just super excited to get off the plane. Oo Jamie keeps showing you things through the window 🥺.

Ok so we landed, I get up quick and so do some off the other boys so that the team can get off the plane first. It’s kinda chaotic with everybody trying to get their luggage and some people get smacked in the face. Question does your hair start to curl when the air is humid. Cuz that always happens to me and it’s what I love about traveling to warm places because my hair looks good lol.

Okkk so pass border control etc and all get out of the airport. Also you and Jamie are holding hands the entire time ;)). Would you rather rent a car or take a taxi to the hotel?. Anyways we leave the airport and everybody is just so happy that we are in Greece right now!! It’s sunny and beautiful.

Skip to getting to the hotel: I think our hotel is pretty nice, and we get there at like 2 . would you share your room with Jamie or get a solo? Anywayssss we get to the hotel and all say that we are going to meet up to go to the beach for a bit? Because we just wanna wake up and cool off in the water and possibly tan.

Brigid you walk out in your bikini and Jamie is in awe like how is she that gorgeous. And some boy makes a comment and he glares at him. And he literally carries you into the water. Kesh and Kirby just want to be constantly around each other so they are cuddles to together under an umbrella sipping on drinks or possibly swimming together. Quinner and I are racing each other into the water, and then we both tackle each other at the same time. And then we see who can jump over the wave. And maybe we just hold onto each other and have moments😏 same w you and Jamie .

Side note: I’ve had some bad/funny experiences w waves because some big ones just pulled me under and I would just land on the shore lol. It would take me such a long time to regain my breathing lol.

Some of the boys are chilling and tanning because they want to get some good tans. Some boys have already met some girls and some are in the water with us.

Later we all go shower and get changed to go out for dinner w the team. I never blow dry my hair esp on vacays because it dries really quickly and I get curls wbu? You me and kesh get dressed into really cute summery outfits, I see myself in a flowy skirt and a tshirt or a sleeveless top- I am owning the freckles on my arms hehe. Brigid I can see you in shorts or maybe even in a denim skirt? And in a top that shows your pretty bralette. Kesh I see you in a sundress? Like a red or yellow sundress that looks amazing !!

They boys are speechless because we are owning our outfits. Anywayssss we all go to a restaurant by the beach and just have such a nice time. And maybe after some Brigid +Jamie and Kirby +kesh time on the beach at night 😏

Okkk I hope this was ok. Pt 4 will be more of our trip !!

haha all of us just falling asleep on each other in the car and then when we’re in line for security. like jamie just rests his head on my shoulder while we’re standing there and somehow falls asleep lol. and then ryan gets lost bc ofc he does and we’re laughing at him but then we’re like oh shit we need to help him find us so we don’t miss our flight. so then we help him back to security where he and lexi both get beeped and chirp each other about it lmao

hehe yes i finally chose jamie🥰. dyl and i are more like chaotic best friends who are maybe a little flirty but ultimately are just friends lol. so anywaysss jamie is the softest bf so he lets me wear his hoodie and we cuddle up and sleep together in the airport🥺 and kesh and kirby are also cuddling and lexi is wearing quinner’s beanie that she stole lol. and thankfully ryan’s still tired and lexi’s busy with quinner so they won’t start chirping me and jamie yet. and also we’re all wearing the boys’ sweartshirts that they gave to us

hehe yes then we’re on the plane and jamie sees me with dyl and cozzy and he just begss cozzy to switch with him. and cozzy’s already gotten comfortable so he’s like “no jamie just sit in your own seat". but jamie’s like “pleaseeeeee it’s my girlfriend”. so then cozzy seeing the perfect money-making technique (and also mildly terrified lmao) it like “fine i guess i’ll switch but only if you pay me $50″. and jamie’s just like “done” and hands the money over. so then jamie and i are both really happy and ofc you and ryan are awake enough to chirp us now lol. and the two of you are sitting behind us with quinner and then quinton, braden, and peyton are behind you guys. and kesh and kirby aren’t ready to deal with us bc it’s too damn early so they purposely chose the seats far away from us lol. and the other boys are just scattered throughout the plane

me+jamie+dyl - so we’re watching our movie and dyl falls asleep realllll quick bc he didn’t sleep at all in the airport. so then i help him get comfy bc besty things and i feel bad for him bc i think sleeping in airplanes is uncomfy lol. and then jamie cuddles up to me and i start playing with his hair🥺 so then he starts falling asleep again so ofc i help him get comfy and give him a blanket so he can sleep. and then while he’s sleeping i get to play with his hair and trace his freckles🥰 so then when he wakes up he just kind of mumbles “thank you baby” and i’m like “of course” and kiss him. and then they make me rewatch the movie with them and i’m just like “whyyyyyy” but then i make them play uno and poker with me so it’s all good. but then jamie gets bored and starts playing with my hair and braiding it🥺 and it actually turns out decent this time

kesh+kirby - perfect, amazing, adorable together. trying to keep us under control, but eventually just give in and ignore the chaos and pretend they don’t know us lmao

lexi+quinner(+ryan) - hehe yes lexi and quinner made ryan carry the coffee bc they’re too clumsy and then quinner drank a shit ton of it, but he still manages to fall asleep on the plane. and then lexi makes sure he’s comfy and starts playing with his hair, all while wearing his beanie ofc. but then you’re being super loud and competitive with ryan playing a ton of games and stuff. so then i’m like “guys stfu, jamie and the other guys are sleeping” and you guys are like “so what?” before realizing you really don’t want to wake everyone up. so then you guys shut up and start wandering the plane lol. but then eventually ryan gets tired and falls asleep and quinner wakes up and you guys are being all cutsie. and you’re cuddling and kissing each other’s freckles and then me and jamie chirp you guys bc payback lol

hehe yes first class bc rich boyssss. so we actually have pretty good food but the snacks are still better. and then eventually the guys just start throwing snacks to me bc it’s faster than handing them to you to hand them to me lol

and then we’re about to land so jamie’s pointing out things out the window to me and getting super excited, so ofc i’m excited too. and then we land and all get up fast af bc we’re not waiting for other people to get off the plane lol. also i pray to God that no one in our group claps when the plane lands bc that shit pisses me off lol. so anyways it’s just chaotic getting our stuff and getting off the plane lol. my baby hairs would be getting curly from the humidity, but the rest would just turn wavy. so anyways then me go through border control and me and jamie are holding hands and so are kesh and kirby but lexi and quinner can’t bc they both have sm shit to carry lol. and then we rent a car to take to the hotel and everyone’s just in a super good mood bc we finally made it

hehe then we finally get to our hotel which is nice bc again rich boyssss. and then me and jamie would share a room bc i’m broke lol and also bc i love him and want to be as close to him as i can😍 so then we put our stuff in our rooms and get ready to go to the beach. and then obviously all our boys are so impressed by us in our swimsuits, and each of them (jamie, quinner, and kirby) is just like “damn she’s gorgeous, how’d i get so lucky” and then some guy tries to like catcall me and jamie just death glares him lmao

hehe jamie just carrying me to the water “jamie i can walk myself yk” “ik i just love you, i want to carry you” “ok thank you bb” and then kesh and kirby ALWAYS together. swimming together, cuddling together on the beach, going to get food together etc. and then lexi and quinner racing and tackling each other into the waves and stuff lol. and i make jamie join bc i’m a competitive bitch lol and i obvi can’t just leave him alone. hehe getting pulled under by waves isn’t a problem for me bc i have good breath control lol. and then you and quinner and me and jamie could have moments😏 esp bc we’re in the water which makes everyone look extra hot. meanwhile the other guys are like all playing volleyball together or picking up girls lmao

then we all go shower to get ready for dinner. personally i never blow dry my hair and my showers are really fast so i would be ready fast lol. ooh lexi and kesh looking cute, lexi with her sleeveless shirt and flowy skirt and kesh with her sundress. i’m wearing shorts bc i basically refuse to wear anything else lol. hehe but i have a cute shirt that shows off a cute bralette so it makes up for my lack of skirt lol. and then the boys are just speechless bc of our outfits and they’re making sure to keep us close the whole night. oooh and then beach time at night😏

okkkk i love all of this and i’m so excited for part 4!!

Ok, I’ve been involved in science for a long time and I’ve never seen so many beautiful scientists in one place c’mon

I’m not saying scientists can’t be buff and modelesque, but as a whole we tend not to be?

Inter-Shield rivalry is hilarious. It’d be even funnier if it didn’t involve Ward.

Fitz and Simmons are so proper here I’m crying at them trying to be so mature

Also I love their superstar status. IT’S WHAT THEY DESERVE.

I do think May is genuinely trying to help Coulson get over this whole Tahiti thing, but I also think she is acting on Fury’s orders to keep him out of it as well

But also Coulson and May need to stop looking at each other like that or just DO IT ALREADY.

Was this the first time we actually heard Fitz’s full first name? I actually don’t remember him being given a first name at all before this. Anyway, Leopold is such an extra first name.

The Boiler Room is probably the most accurate thing in this entire episode because when you mix a bunch of scientists together with alcohol and the desire to party shenanigans happen. SHENANIGANS.

The sad thing here is I think that Fitz and Donny really did have a connection. Donny could have found people that he could relate to and actively work with but instead he got involved with a bad crowd.

Man does May know Coulson. So, so well. I love them together.

I don’t know if I can fit them all on here, but I’ll try.

First things first, what a way to wrap up a lot of things about Fitz’s personality in one simple line. He’s brilliant enough to know that he’s not the smartest at everything. He’s humble enough to understand that it’s ok if he’s not the absolute smartest because he’s the best at what he does. He’s kind enough to give Jemma the recognition when he could just be looking to improve how he looks in front of this cadet. He also respects Jemma enough to give credit where credit is due.

More than that though, he just loves her so much. I mean yeah, Jemma is gorgeous which doesn’t hurt things I’m sure. But if her face got scarred and mangled in a horrible accident, he’d still love her as much because he is so into that brain of hers. He tries to hide it, but he’s not doing a good job.

I just...I love that line.

Also we get some Fitz backstory here. I really feel for him mom in all this because having a truly gifted kid is...exhausting. Trust me.

I love the contradiction in shinichi’s personality when it comes to Ran. He thinks isn’t good enough for her (Araide) yet he won’t give up on her easily (Eisuke). Like the moment Eisuke told him that I feel that the world stopped for him.. what’s the point of the fight if he will lose “his dream”. I know many people say he has his life as Shinichi to go back to and all but to me he can start anew in everything except “love” friends(met his bestie as conan + DB)parents check cases check but love?

My lil dude is full of contradictions and that’s why we love him!!!!!!!!!

I mean, listen, my bud @detectivegeekshin answered a very good ask about the whole Shinichi - Eisuke debacle, and I basically second everything on there. I think that scene has a lot of different converging aspects, and they have to be understood separately first in order to be understood later together.

BUT! You do bring up an interesting point that I never get tired of talking about. Which is the fact that Shinichi’s very own raison d’être –reason to live– is Ran.

(I coined that term from someone so long ago I forget who it was.)

There are a lot of things that I don’t agree with in the movies –coughcough Shinichi’s characterization in movie 19 coughcough Kid’s characterization from movie 14 onwards coughcough Amuro getting one coughcough– but there are a lot of things that I so desperately wish were canon, somehow. Because I think one of the scenes that best summarizes the idea that Shinichi is simply alive because of Ran is that Iconic™ scene in movie 1 where Shinichi literally realizes that life isn’t worth living if Ran isn’t in it and tells her to cut any of the bomb wires because if they die, they die together.

That’s it. That’s their relationship.

But okay, you purists, fine. Movie 1 isn’t canon, you shout at me. I come from behind the bushes, yes, I know, it isn’t! Allow me to illustrate it with canon examples.

One of my favorite episodes of all time: The Trembling Police Headquarters. Y’all remember that scene –it’s worth rereading/rewatching– when Conan decides he and Takagi are going to die so they can get to the end of the clue that will tell them where the other bomb is? Y’all remember that scene? Y’all also remember what the last thought on Shinichi’s mind is before he’s about to die?

If you got that one right, give yourself a pat on the back.

It is!!! It’s my girl!!!!! This man is about to die and the last thing he thinks about is Ran, and about how she’s going to be left waiting for him, and about how he’s never going to be able to see her again. And then he’s like well bitch nope!!!! Guess we’re not dying after all Takagi!!!! Got me the love of my life waiting for me!!! And I gotta get to her!!! I ain’t dying today bitch!!!!!

Not convinced? Okay, here, another canon example. Every single time Shinichi takes the temporary antidote, risking his life because Haibara!! Doesn’t!!! Even!!! Fucking!!! Know!!! The!!! Side effects!!!

(Seriously one day we all gotta talk about Haibara and whAT THE FUCK she’s doing –or not doing– to get this antidote I swear to fucking God.)

And every time he takes the antidote, it’s for Ran!! It’s to be with her!! To help her out!!! To be close to her because he misses her!!!

Don’t come to me with the whole “Shinichi wants to get back to his adult life, that’s why he’s going after the organization.” Bitch no!!! He’s trying to get back to Ran!!! The one person, and I quote, he “cares for the most in this world.” Bitch my man’s a fucking poet!!! Y’all kidding me??? Shinichi doesn’t give a fuck about going back to the soccer club –okay I guess he misses it a little bit as evidenced by the Teitan Ghost case but y’all give this one to me for dramatic effect, alright? He doesn’t care about missing classes or his detective reputation being ruined. His parents??? They left him when the boi was 13, see you never!! (I’m kidding I love the Kudos and despite me not agreeing with their parenting choices I would also take a bullet for them.)

Read me discuss it extensively here, but honestly that whole first chapter/episode is constructed so that we very clearly understand that Shinichi’s entire life is Ran. That the whole reason he has to so desperately find the assholes from Karasuma’s Boy Band of Evil Misfits is so that he can finally be with the girl he loves with his entire being, with his entire heart, with his entire soul and I am running out of ways to express that my man Shinichi fucking Kudo would fucking run over anyone for Ran Mouri let me tell you.

Man, I got excited, didn’t I?

Anyway. Yes, I’m pretty sure if Ran wasn’t in the picture, Shinichi would lose all sense of direction, all motivation, and his life would lose meaning.

So let’s never see what that’s like, shall we?
