absolutely self-indulgent owl language breakdown from my owl house daemon au bc i was having fun with it today:
so we have 'wings-across-night' which is what the owl beast/firefly calls herself in her own language. the sounds of this name are spelled out as 'grr-click-growl', which, bc i have a sounds-to-general-meaning dictionary, is this idea of like...
the 'grr' and 'growl' are these lasting sounds, longer, and somewhat low and dangerous, which get across the 'wings' and 'night' idea that posit firefly as a hunter, who hunts best in the night. then we have the 'click' for across which is sort of a joining-together, and all-together it comes across as this long rumbling sound, ie of an owl in flight across the sky.
and then we get to FIREFLY, which, man it took me a WHILE to get to firefly as the translated witch-language/english version of wings-across-night. its this idea that...wings-across-night is a hunter of the night, she is someone who is found and associated with darkness, but it ALSO has an implication of being seen: she flies across the night, and is thus illuminated by it.
and so FIREFLY. as these creatures who glow in the dark, who live there and make it their own with something bright inside of them and its just so FUN.
and we get!! other names too! like 'king' being 'puffs out chest' because it comes from that sorta arrogance of his youth, being an itty-bitty baby who saw himself as the king of demons, but then later on its also this idea of like, how one might puff up as a sort of way of saying im HERE, not in an arrogant way but in a claiming this place as their own sort of way, which king does: he might be a titan but hes also a CLAWTHORNE.
'one that hoards' is what 'the collector' translates to in owl, but firefly doesnt call him this for long...bc the thing she notices about them is how SCARED they can get, how hesitant they are, bc theyve had so much taken from them and theyre protective of what they do have, yes in a way that can be harmful (look at their relationship w king lol) but also like...reaches out scared...and so we get this translating to 'sraf' in witch-language because that's what it is all about, in the end: the collector who has reached, terrified, for this thing he was told to avoid, and made it his own, and made himself sraf.
sea-and-light for luzmari is one of the first owl-names i came up with and one im still so fond of...they're called sea-and (mari) or and-light (luz) separately but no matter what we get the AND in there, tying them together as a pair despite all else. 'light' is straightforward for luz but 'sea' is a bit less for mari, but it connects for both of them similar things--light being the glyph luz finds first, ice being the one mari did, but mari not being so cold despite it all, but a thing ice melts into. (also when i was picking names i saw that 'maritza' means something relating to the sea, tho this was Years ago n i dont know how true that is lol since i dont have the source anymore). mari being first because she has chosen to be first, flipping the human-first script on its tail, bc firefly is an owl, and why would she follow convention?
im still poking around at my names for hunter and amity...last night i came up with something like berrysharp or berry-click or berry-(click) for amity and alma--i know they get a name together because they are almost always holding on to one another, and 'berry' for this sort of idea of both the purple but also like, berries can be bitter, sweet, something inbetween, and amityalma have been A Lot Of Things. and then the sharpness being the idea of like, throughout the fic amity is sort of the first character to just be HERSELF, especially when compared to luzmari who spend nearly the entire series really struggling with this...dunno this one im still turning over lol. the 'click' part of things is just bc 'click' tends to mean like, combining two things, which seems fitting for a name that is amity and alma together.
i have Nothing yet for hunter. some ideas. ive been toying with hunter and flapjack's name being something, and then somethings shadow--ie whatever name one of them gets, the other gets the same name with shadow tacked on, which fits their Vibes, plus when firefly meets them, which is post-hollow mind when things are Bad. prooooobably it would go flapjack and then hunter is flapjack's shadow, which i think is fun...but we'll see i still need a NAME. something to do with palistrom trees?
dunno. just...owl language <3

Do you think Rhaenyra and Daemon would work together to get the Reader? I can see them forming a shaky truce and marrying after their spouses die, but still pushing for their respective sons to marry the Reader. Jace and Daemon's son constantly compete for the Reader’s love. I can also see Luke and Joff/Baela and Rhaena backing up their respective bros and adding to the chaos. Meanwhile, Aegon and Aemond are fuming at King’s Landing.
A big reason why Leanor and Rhaenyra’s marriage happened in the first place is under an agreement to share the reader, it was also a deal made between Viserys and Corlys. Daemon and Rhaenyra while marrying out of desire, also did under a similar agreement. But while they agreed to share her they are also simultaneously maneuvering behind each other’s backs on whose son she marries.
With the marriage done so soon after their children’s death, Corlys and Rhaenys aren’t all too happy. In fact, they had hoped that they take the reader to themselves and have her reside on Driftmark.
Surprisingly, Rhaenys finds herself taking Daemon’s side, trying to persuade the reader to wed Viserion. Rhaenys even goes as far as to propose letting Jace wed Baela and Luke to Rhaena. However, even if Rhaenyra ever agrees to this proposal, she’ll continue to find ways to bring Jace and the reader close, having him accompany her whenever she goes, and even letting her ride Vermax during travels.
Daemon, on the other hand, relies on Viserion to do it himself, he is his father’s son after all. Viserion is much more forward, participating in tournaments, and vying for the honor of crowning the reader, challenging any suitors who dare come between him and her.
The siblings also choose sides, with Luke and Joffrey supporting their brother and Baela and Rhaena doing the same to theirs. Baela and Rhaena have a better advantage as they can easily enjoy girl time with the reader, akin to sleepovers where they persuade you into giving in to their brother's advances. However, Luke and Joffrey somehow find a way of tricking you to help them with something only to find yourself conveniently alone with Jace.
Despite, Viserion appearing to have an apparent advantage, it all changes when Viserys comes in. He of course advocates for Jace, in his eyes the reader deserves nothing more than to be a queen, and what a wonderful queen she’ll make. He’s also had his issues over the reader’s namesake, being Laenor’s daughter she had to have his Velaryon name; marrying Jace would solve all that without causing any problems with the Velaryons. Funny enough, Daemon himself finds weding Viserion to be a solution to that issue as well.
Otto and Alicent, predictably, oppose both matches, with Alicent seeing all faults in Nyra’s sons and Otto is vehemently against the idea of a marriage between the reader and Daemon’s son. The two are doing all they can do to sabotage any potential matches, Otto is sure that all he needs is some time for when Aegon becomes king, they can just wed them.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t take one to say that the animosity between Aegon and Aemond is growing, but it intensifies with Viserion and Jace. Whenever the family visits, it usually ends with a fight breaking out. To prevent any possible accident mishaps, no more than one can participate in any tourneys.

Dad!Daemon as a disciplinarian and head of household
Do you think he has a hands on or off approach to parenting and discipline/teaching? (From the last ep it was def hands off … actually neglect but idk what the writers were doing). And how do you think he works with his partner in teaching and raising their children? Does he run his family with his same aggressive-“my way or the Highway”-behavior he shows in his earlier years or has children made him do a 180?
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍
pairing: dad!daemon targaryen x mom!reader
reblogs, feedbacks and likes are appreciated. i hope you like it!
author's note: I'm in writing process of other dad!daemon requests stuff, but listen, your idea is AMAZING!!! And it fits really well in headcanon format. So here's what I think about Daemon's parenting.

Tumblr media
· ┈┈┈┈┈┈ · ୨♡୧ · ┈┈┈┈┈┈ ·
During your first pregnancy, Daemon found himself in a crisis.
He had no idea how to be a father.
He was a ruthless warrior, for gods' sake! He never took care of children before.
He wasted time trying to remember some of his brother's actions when Rhaenyra was young, but that was no example for him.
Viserys is a king, so it was never expected of him to take care of his daughter, or even educate her. And he never did.
Daemon remembers his father really well. He was 20 when Baelon passed away, and that's the only example of parenting he had.
Daemon knew in his heart he had a great father, and that's what he wanted to be for his children.
You were a few moons away from giving birth, and your husband couldn't stop babbling about baby names, and picking a good dragon egg to place in the crib, and fantasizing about taking the child to meet Caraxes, and...
Honestly, you couldn't wait for the child to be born.
And when Rhaegon finally arrived into your life, Daemon became everything he said he would be.
He was terrified at first. The man had no idea how to hold a child, he only held swords in his entire life.
But eventually he figured it was easier than it looked like.
Years later, Daemon learned that taking care of a child and raising a child are two completely different things.
Rhaegon was three when you had your baby girl, Alyssa.
Daemon fell in love. And when her little hands touched his face for the first time, he felt loved.
The Rogue Prince couldn't be burned by fire, but time was the thing that made his heart ache.
Alyssa was growing up quickly, and Daemon felt the years passing by like a sharp valyrian blade cutting through his skin.
In the eyes of her father, Alyssa Targaryen was perfect. She had your beauty, your delicacy, but she also had his temper.
"But I told you not to play in the dragonpit!" Daemon scolded her while washing her dust stained platinum hair.
"Aegon said it would be fun!" Alyssa retorted.
"Dreamfyre is not to play with, she could have burned you. And, you shouldn't be with Aegon, I don't want you near him again. He's much older than you."
"But why is it a problem?" The little girl protested.
"Because I said so."
"But why?! Aegon is funny, and Rhaegon doesn't let me play with him and Luke and Jace. At least Aegon doesn't make me wanna smack his face like Rhaegon does." Alyssa murmured.
"Alyssa, don't say that! And certainly, do not hurt your brother. Listen, I'm gonna talk to him, okay? But you need to promise me that you'll never listen to Aegon again. Do not trust that kid, none of them."
Daemon couldn't bear the thought of his eight year old daughter hanging around the thirteen year old prince. He knew Aegon was some kind of pervert, and he did not wanted that boy near his little girl.
Daemon never lost his temper with his kids.
He feared that someday they would be scared of him.
But he knew how to lecture his children.
"Your sister told me you don't let her play with you and Rhaenyra's boys. Mind tell me why's that?"
"She's a girl! She could be playing with Helaena, why do I have to play with her?" Rhaegon rolled his eyes.
"Because she is your sis– Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Daemon stared at his son with a menacing gaze that immediately made the boy shake.
"N-no...?"
"I think you did. I think you rolled your eyes at me, Rhaegon." Daemon gave one step ahead, and his giant form towered the boy's body.
"I'm sorry, father. I'll ask Alyssa to play with Jace, Luke and me."
"You better, boy." Daemon said with a stern voice before leaving the room.
You tried not to interfere in Daemon's way of scolding the kids, but if you thought he was being too much, then you would say something.
Sometimes he would make the children eat alone in their chambers if they'd misbehave.
Sometimes he would make them do chores.
Sometimes he would just ground them in their rooms.
But he never, ever, raised his hand to touch one of his children.
Daemon had killed so many men in battle, but had never hurt a child in his whole life. He intended to stay that way.
Daemon Targaryen could be many terrible things, but he certainly was not a bad father.
He would rather die before hurting one of his children.
And when Maegon was born, he couldn't wait to go through the beginning of parenting all over again.

Hi, I usually only send asks to people on anon, but I really wanted to say that I am so sorry this fandom has been so awful to you and made what should have been a fun and cool thing such a negative experience. I will be sad not to see the rest of the scripts, but I hope stopping the posts gives you some peace 💙
thanks for the kind words, honestly i need them right now. after some consideration, i've come to make a decision on how i want to operate moving forward.
as of now i've permanently deleted my scheduled posts on twitter, i won't be posting anything there anymore.
for tumblr, i removed everything from my queue and they're sitting in my drafts, but i may just post the excerpts i like this weekend.
on the whole, i'm taking a big step back from this fandom. i've met a lot of nice people here and made friends, but the loud voices of some of the worst people here just make this an overall unenjoyable experience. for my own mental health, i think it's important to simply cut off the opportunity for people to engage with me directly.
to give some clarity, this is not just about people doubting my posts. i find those to be funny since i have never made it a secret where i get my scripts from, people just seem to be unwilling to read or do research. i actually do have one single image of a script on my phone that the librarian okayed me to photograph. but i forgot about it while making edits and now i simply don't want to post it. (i thought i didn't copy down daemon asking for rhaenyra's hand in episode 4, apparently, i was wrong and just forgot about the picture.)
this is about people calling me awful names, accusing me of pedophilia, because that's everyone's favorite word to use in this fandom, and insulting my friends when i won't respond to them.
it's about people who seem to think i deserve harassment because i put myself out there. it's about people who think i'm just too engaged and need to be more "zen" about fandom and the insults being hurled my way. it's about people who feel entitled to my posts and regularly demand greedily that i post about their favorite character already.
it's also about people cozying up to me one minute and then calling me names the next. it makes it really hard to trust anyone in this fandom, much less want to befriend them. i shouldn't have to get used to people suddenly popping up in my dms trying to befriend me after finding out that i could be a "source" for them, but i did and that's on me.
i said before that if i stopped this project i would expose everyone who was an asshole to me. the hilarious fact is that it would literally be too many screenshots of people acting like the worst type of people. all the things i listed above are from multiple people across multiple platforms. it's not just twitter, or tumblr, or discord, or reddit. it's the fact that these people exist literally in every corner of this fandom that makes me want to pull back completely.
i'll keep contributing in the areas where i enjoy contributing, but i'm done engaging with people who seem to view me as entertainment or a punching bag.
to people who have defended me without knowing me, or have simply just been polite, thanks so much. it really does help even if i don't reply to every kind word.

the ASOIAF / HotD / GoT fandom does not talk about the Velaryons enough, (and i know y’all know why. work on that.) so let’s talk about them. I present:
Velaryon Appreciation Day 1:
Corlys Velaryon
The lack of recognition for Corlys is DISGRACEFUL in this fandom.. I genuinely didn’t know he was a main character until I watched the show this week.
So here are some reasons you should appreciate or at least recognize Corlys:
1. He loves his wife more than anyone on that show. Easily the best husband out of the lot.
2. Literally Rhaenys’ #1 fan
3. Puts aside his long-held ambition to have his blood on the throne when Rhaenys asks
4. Is one of the biggest supporters of Team Black
5. ..I’m not kidding, do y’all remember how he kept vying for Rhaenyra’s claim long after her death? Yeah
6. Dude got arrested and sentenced to death for plotting to unseat Aegon AFTER RHAENYRA WAS DEAD
7. Like instrumental to Team Black and Rhaenyra’s line succeeding the throne, especially post-dance
8. Some of the best hair in the series i mean COME. ON. :
Tumblr media
the gold bands? that length??? outdid.
9. Some of the best outfits, especially among the men of HotD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. He is THE Sea Snake, ruler of the seas!!!!!! Lord of the Tides, Master of Driftmark, Head of House Velaryon, and Princess Rhaenys’ husband (the final is obviously his best and most important title).
Tumblr media
11. My dude is HARDY. Recovered from a near-fatal stab wound and intense fever at 70(ish) years old.
12. He is so sweet to Luke. Fights for him as heir to Driftmark despite knowing they are not blood related (“it was just so the Velaryon name stays on the throne!” so? he could’ve supported Vaemond’s claim but he chose to support Rhaenyra’s child, his grandchild)
Tumblr media
(look at little Luke and his grandsire😞)
13. Driftmark is cool as fuck and he’s the Master of it so that’s another point to Corlys.
Tumblr media
14. I said it once I’ll say it again: GILF.
Tumblr media
15. (extra credit): Steve Toussaint (Corlys’ actor) seems to be a great guy. He’s funny, v entertaining in interviews, comes across so genuine, bffs with Eve Best (Rhaenys’ actress), and is a huge GoT nerd (seriously. he is the only one who can answer any questions about GoT in the interviews i’ve seen him in). And fun fact- as I was looking to see if he’s overtly problematic, I discovered that all of his twitter likes are just “human kindness” and funny animal videos.
Tumblr media
And the worst thing is that if he looked like his pre-HotD fancast/fanon version, people would not shut up about him.
Tumblr media
“He’s soo fine”
“I need a husband like him”
“We need to talk about him more.”
..and you know i’m right!
FINALLY:
I am not saying you have to like Corlys (especially if you do not fw any asoiaf men, which i deeply respect), but free him and House Velaryon from this double standard you hold them to.
Like I better not see anyone who appreciates, recognizes, or likes Daemon or Aemond or Criston or even Alicent talking about how Corlys is “too prideful,” “too ambitious,” because look the fuck around!!!!!!! who isn’t in this goddamn verse!!?!??!!! and also you know what?? if my beautiful amazing badass wife was denied her rightful throne, i’d be mad about it too!!!!! even after she said she was over it!!!
if you made it this far, i’m thoroughly impressed and even more grateful that you have heard me out in this Corlys Velaryon rant!

THE GROOMING
Well this is my first post, first I want to clarify that I am not a person who usually has popular opinions in the fandom… soo… many people will not like what I say… but hey, that's the purpose of this profile expel my opinions on different topics.
I also want to clarify that English is not my first language (it is Spanish) and you will probably find spelling horrors, so if you want to comment in Spanish you are free to do so.
By the way, I'm new to Tumblr, so I don't know why I get a lot of shit from the green team, fans of Alicent and the funny but fateful ship of Renada and Alicent, by the way ,HELP!!! I need to get out of there.🤣
but hey, I came across a post that talked about the supposed grooming that Daemon did to rhaenyra (bringing current morality to a work based on medieval times, that it seems fatal to me to do that more in a work with the nature of ASOIF, where Most characters border and play with the limit of morality ) and said that He had been grooming her since She was little and that Alicent herself was uncomfortable with daemon's dealings with rhaenyra. Well, I'll tell you my opinion about this and about who really groomed Rhaenyra.
Starting with the time lines (it should be clarified that I will use the true CANON, the books)
Rhaenyra is born in 97 ac, and Daemon is 16 years old when she is born and they give him darksister becoming a knight, that same year Daemon marries Rhea, then He is sent to live with his wife in runestone, therefore Daemon watches sporadically Rhaenyra and when He visited Kings landing , He did not spend 24/7 with her although He brought gifts to rhaenyra, and also his life on silk street was well known, and later in 103 to 104 is where they put him in The great advice… that we already know doesn't work and he's only been in these positions for 6 months. They give him permission to create the city wacht and he was in that position for 2 YEARS where he spent killing thieves and rapists, drinking and fucking whores. That he "lived" (that he practically did not live there) in the fortress did not mean that Rhaenyra looked at it every day and lived with him all the time. In 105 Aemma died and that same year Daemon was expelled from Kl, when Rhaenyra was 8 YEARS OLD, DAEMON returns to court in 111, that is, He was out of court for 6 YEARS… Daemon was never a constant in rhaenyra's childhood because he passed through silk street or was expelled in the valley.
Now let's talk about the men who really did that to rhaenyra if we use the term Grooming (which is stupid to use since it is a term that refers to the use of ICT and current moral and ethical standards).
But let's start with one loved and acclaimed by my dearest green team, the great white knight, the great Criston Cole who met her at age 7 (in the maiden pool tournament) and he was 22 years old and in the same year where he was named her sworn shield (he is 15 years older than rhaenyra). He saw her grow up and he was glued to her 24/7, who the great Queen Alicent herself said "that he protected Rhaenyra but nobody protected her from him" of course we do not talk about grooming anymore right?
Do all of you want to continue? Well, let's continue, now with the supposed "strongest man of the 7 kingdoms", Harwin strong, who arrived… guess when to court? at 105, and how old was rhaenyra at 105? yess!! You guessed it!, she was 8 years old, and you can't tell me that he wasn't close to her and that he didn't see her grow up, because her sisters were ladies of Rhaenyra. ….
and guess how many years Harwin is older than her? yes, 8 years … and who is the father of her first childrens? …. spoiler …. is not laenor, but no one talks about these great and honorable gentlemens … only Daemon who didn't see her grow up and was not even a quarter as close to Rhaenyra like Cole or Sir Strong….
Tumblr media
As I repeat, it seems stupid to me to use the term in a work with a medieval context, where the majority of women married between the ages of 14 and 16 and if you passed that age you were a spinster or something was strange with you….. AND I THINK MORE HYPOCRITE for an alicent fan to say… DO YOU WANNA READ ME TO TALK ABOUT ALICENT? let's talk about alicent… an 18-year-old single "maiden" daughter of a second son who, since she did not inherit anything, would have to look for a husband at an early age who would give her strength and children. but conveniently she was single and willing to marry a man with a daughter… who wanted her own children to be kings who got to marry her 13-YEAR-OLD daughter to her brother who was only 2 years older than her "normal" but who collected bastards as a hobby… and there is much more to say about alicent…
but hey, this post already seems like a legal document… I'll leave it here.
I wait for your comments…
kisses.😘

Sarcastic number 9 With Aemond please 💗🙏🏽
You ask you shall receive!
"Do you want to fuck me or kill me?"
Aemond Targaryen x Reader
Ps:this is gonna be a bit long, I like flavouring my fics🤭
Tumblr media
It was simple, honestly, you and the prince allways one at each others troaths. Even so, everyone could feel the tension between the two of you.
It didn't matter if it was in a room or even outside. When you and Aemond shared a space the air got thiner and atmosphere dark.
It made sense, you being the oldest daughter of Daemon Targaryen, having his blood and a lot of his personality traits.
People often saw your father in you, you even looked alike, the one my problem was, you were a bastard.
The basic story, your father slept with the mom you don't know to this day and had you, he took you and raised you.
Fortunately you looked identical to him, but it was very suspicious that a few years later Daemon showed up with a mini him. Back to the story.
You like your dragon a lot, so that made Aemond pretty jealous. I mean, he had no dragon and you were so happily racing yours with his brother?
Whenever he said your name a bitter taste laid in his mouth. But how good he felt when he got the largest dragon alive, he felt like he kicked you in the face with a bold move as such.
When his nephew,Lucerys, bow your step-brother, took his eye you stood by, simply watching it unfold.
You found it amusing so you didn't interfere.
Because of that, many called you unwell in the head, but you only took those as compliments, making you more unique than Alicent or the other basic people that talk shit at court.
As years passed and you got older, and in many people's eyes, more attractive, you became even more wild.
You adored chaos, violence and having enemies.
Daemon could never be more proud, especially since you disobey him pretty frequently, that kinda sucks, but it shows him your from head to toe his daughter.
Not a day passes that he thanks himself for taking you with him.
What more can he ask?
Most of the time Otto, refers to you as a devil, while Alicent glares in disgust. Oh how you wish to wipe that smug of their faces.
You considered killing Alicent and her father, but than were would be the fun in watching them fuck up everything?
What you found more funny is when Aegon had company over, oh how many times you caught him fucking like a rabbit. He often suggested you to join in which you replied that if you will, by the next morning he will wake up next to his severed cock.
You laughs at face he made, sometimes you terrified even him.
Years went on and Daemon married Rhaenyra. You liked her, she was a nice company. This was, of course after Laena died, you liked Laena to, after all she was the one who gifted you your dragon as a child.
You were taught high Valeryan, but also sword fight and battle strategy. If anyone said anything about you marrying some excuse of a man you or your father would bring their tongue for a collection.
In concussion danger and chaos was written all over you.
Fortunately, you didn't spend much time in kings landing, since your family lived at Dragon Stone.
But the few times you visited you would constantly challenge the second prince.
Making rude remarks, insulting his mother whenever you got the chance.
But now that the king died? Now that Aegon usurped the throne, oh how you waited for this.
It saddened you to hear that Rhaenyra lost her baby, and your half sister.
It even raged you the reason.
You blamed Aegon, now you wanted to kill him.
It's funny how you don't actually need a reason to fuel your urge to kill.
Soon enough, Rhaenyra took the rightful crown, having a lot of houses support her.
At first she wanted to send Lucerys and Jacaerys, but Daemon suggested sending you alone.
"No,we both know how it could end if (Name) went alone, it would automatically start a war."
Daemon smirked, how he loved the reputation you carved out for yourself, but he didn't give up, in fact, he hoped you would start a war. To fuel his dragon blood for adrenaline and murder.
"Than perhaps she should acompany young Lucerys, you never know what could happen. My queen."
Barely convincing her she let the two of you go.
Before sending you, she made the two of you to promise not to go as fighters.
You went as lucerys's protector. With one final hug, Rhaenyra gave Luke the paper with her declaration and send you on your way.
Daemon nodded at you as you smirked, mischief on your face.
Once you landed and noticed Vhagar excitement took over you. If he was here ,it means the greens got ahead of you.
After you were brought inside, your eyes landed on Aemond.
Luke spoke with Boros, but you payd no mind, your eyes stuck on the white haired prince. Next to him stood a girl.
She's ugly, you thought. Even in your thoughts you were mean and unmercifully.
Soon enough things started getting heated. You only snaped back to reality when Boros yelled.
"Remind me of my father's oath?!"
his voice echoed, of course after the master read him the paper. The stupid fuck didn't even know how to read. You rolled your eyes at his tone.
You were so close to cuting his tongue off, he dares insult the queen in such manner?
You acoffed in annoyance, Aemonds eye resting peacefull on your form.
Boros continued,
"At least king Aegon came with an offer, a marriage proposal, what do you have to give child?"
You chuckled, grabing the attention of Boros and the rest of the people in the room, including Luke, who pleaded with his eyes for you to say nothing stupid.
"You call that usurper but when your rightful queen calls for you oath to her you insult her? Even more, dare request a marriage with one of her children in exchange for something you should respect?"
Oh he heard all about you, the vicious chaotic daughter of Daemon Targaryen. He didn't expect you to be here, but he knew you were your fathers flesh and blood, which scared him if he was to be honest, but if course, he would never admit it.
"You have something to say, girl? For what I know there is only one King sitting on the iron Throne, in which your mother claims to be heir but has no throne?"
A smile makes its way to your face.
"Perhaps I should bring your head to my father, but unfortunately not today... unfortunately, I swore not to come here to fight.Lucky for you, my, Lord."
The last words rolling of your tongue with venom and danger lacing them.
Your eyes look over to Aemond, you could notice how his jaw clenched in annoyance.
You only wished to challenge him further.
"After all... This happens to traitors, who work hand in hand with usurpers."
You smile viciously.
"You dare come into MY house and threaten ME?"
The Baratheon's angry voice filled the quiet room.
"Perhaps I should cut your throat in your sleep, my lord~"
Adding fire to oil, you added.
Luke looked so done with you, he knew you shouldn't have come.
"GET out! Both of you now!"
Boros yelled, not knowing if he should feel safe in his own home anymore.
"Wait."
Oh how you waited for this, you turned around, at the same time with Luke the moment you head the white haired princes's voice.
"My Lord strong,"
He continued, oh how you know he was looking for trouble. You smirked, finally some excitement.
"Did you really think, that you could just fly above the realm, trying to steal my brothers throne at no cost."
You stepped closer to Luke, noticing how Aemonds his eye lingered on you for a bit to long.
"I will not fight you,I came here as a messaged, not a soldier." Luke spoke, glancing at you. He saw the mischief in your eyes, and he was eager to leave as fast as possible before anything can go more bad then this.
"A fight would be a little challenge." Aemond spoke silently almost.
"No, I want you to put out your eye," he than took his eye patch of, exposing his sapphire eye. You must admit, it was mesmerizing.
Our allowed your eyes to take in his whole face. You must admit, the prince is handsome. Such a shame honestly.
"As payment for mine." He continued, throwing his dagger at your feet.
Aemond wondered if you would stay aside like you did when he lost his eye, no, he knows better than that, you like action.
You chuckled, moving closer.
"He will do no such thing my dear prince, not under my watch." A teasing smile shows on your face.
Aemonds face turned to fiery rage quick.
"give me your eyes, or I shall take it bastard! "
The prince lost his temper, now charging towards the two of you. Like always, you barely waited for s fight. Unfortunately for you Boros broke the tension, sending his guards to escort you and Luke outside.
You smirked, knowing he won't stop there.
Lucerys quickly made his way to his dragon Arax. Looking around you saw how bad the weather is.
Not long after Luke, you joined Caserion, your pitch black dragon.
Slowly petting his head, you climbee on him.
Soon , both of you were high in the air, Vhagar long gone.
The heavy rain landing drops on you, soaking you up.
Luke seemed pretty shaken up, so does Arax.
"Calm down little one, he shall do no harm to you as long as I breath." Reasuring him, you smile.
After a while flying you notice Vhagars large shadow.
Its funny, your dragon is her egg, would you look at that. Perhaps Caserion would be as large as her.
"Ñuhor līr gūrēnna!" Once close enough, trough the storm you could hear Aemonds angry voice. (I will take what's mine.)
You chuckle, eyeing your cousin/uncle up.
"Tubī daor kepus!"your raging voice answered like a devil. (Not today uncle)
You made a sign for Luke which way to go.
Once Luke was out of your sight you took it upon yourself to distract Aemond.
"Come uncle! Spill your rage in your dear niece! "
You maniacally laughed, having him come towards you.
"The two of you share the same debt, so I shall be satisfied with either one of your eyes. "
Choosing it's easier to fight on earth, you landed on a piece of land.
"Come fight me uncle! I'm craving for some royal blood! " you smirked, grabing only your dagger, as it was easier to move, and faster.
He landed feew meters away.
"I shall take what's mine, bastard."
The class of your weapons made you grin.
"You can try to earn it, brat."
In a quick move you got behind him, slicing his left tigh.
He turned around in a blink of an eye , sword to your neck, which you easily ducked.
Throwing your knife away and grabing your sword.
"This is fun! We should do this more often, ya know, family activity!" You chuckled as your swoeds danced together.
Aemond smirked, he wished to break you, your stupid personality and you charming face and behavior.
"I doubt you could fight me without your legs."
He spoke, a menacing look I'm his eye.
"Oh uncle, you shouldn't speak so inappropriately, after all, do you wish to fuck me or fight me?"
His one good eye widened in surprise of your lews words. You took advantage of his distraction, quickly pinning him down, point of your sword resting on his chest.
"Either way, I agree with either choice you make. Tho I am thinking, if I shall kill you or toy with you more... no, killing you would be dull. But if you ever look for a good fuck, make sure you're not seen entering my castle. "
You released him, quickly making way to your black beauty.
"Until next time, uncle~"
Once again you left Aemond frustrated and annoyed. Also with a little... Problem.
I am so sorry for making those so l9ng but I like adding detail and ya know, giving history to the character?
So like, I have 3 more request and then, I have more ideas for the following days, and also thank you all for 69 followers! I appreciate that people enjoy my fics.
Like the usual, you can find my Master list on my page and you can request whatever you want.

R.V. Burgin - Basset Hound
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another NCO, another dog soul. Burgie is very much the straight man to the rest of his friends’ bullshit. He’s got a long fuse and can put up with Snafu and Bill’s antics, only really snapping at them when it’s a serious situation and they need to get focused on getting the job done and staying alive. His daemon needs to be similarly patient and tolerant, while also a hard worker who’s capable of taking whatever’s thrown his way.
Basset Hounds are dogs who very much match that energy. They’re popular for their mild temperament, but also their almost unmatched abilities as trackers. They have an incredible sense of smell and are super dedicated and focused when tracking their prey, the same way Burgie’s a very hard worker who won’t back down from a job or try to use his slightly elevated status to get out of hard work, see: when Gene snaps at him for being forced to help support the platoon on Okinawa, Burgie reminds him that he’s also going to have to go into the line of fire, he doesn’t like it any more than Gene does, but they have to do it.
As already stated, Burgie is very patient about his friends’ more obnoxious senses of humor, and occasionally chimes in with his own comments or jokes. He also can get silly and laugh at the few funny things that happen on the line, like the incident with Jay. Basset Hounds can be playful and affectionate with their friends and family even if they’re not an extremely high energy dog like a husky or a huge cuddle bug with everyone they meet like golden retrievers. They’re extremely loyal creatures, which perfectly matches Burgie’s own sense of devotion to those he really loves. Burgie met his future wife Florence while on leave in Melbourne, maintained a long-distance relationship with her through the war until he was able to help her move to America, where they got married and lived together for the rest of her long life. The real Florence and Burgie were still alive when The Pacific was being made, and you can tell in the interviews with them that they are still deeply in love with each other all this time later. Fictionalized Burgie obviously shares this trait with his real life counterpart, so his daemon would definitely reflect that too.
Burgie’s daemon is named Prudence, called Pru, in some of my unpublished daemon stuff that my wife keeps telling me I should dust off and publish on Ao3, so we’ll see if I ever get around to that lol. She’s a very useful member of the team because of her insane sense of smell, which comes in handy when on watch or scouting ahead on the line.

Corlys had that small council stressed when he was there and when he wasn’t. Even after he left in ep 4 he had them all so tight because he’s a loose canon😭😭😭 It’s the way he didn’t even go to see the king after winning the stepstones. He’s so audacious.
Corlys is a bulldozer and he's just that formidable. I mean, he's quite a lot of things that Viserys isn't, which is why they're put in such opposition - not just politically but physically and temperementally as well.
Corlys is good at the politics (if he wasn't, he'd not have his head) but he isn't particularly bound to the Red Keep. I think he's probably of the opinion that they need him rather than he needs them. And actually, they hamper him because they won't do what he sees as best for not only his house, but the realm as a whole. It's frustrating for him to be on the Small Council, playing a role and having to laugh at jokes he doesn't find funny and look at feasts over actual threats. It goes against who he is. So he refuses the wine and shoots his shot and doesn't bother going to see the King etc etc. The man resigns from the Small Council, a pretty esteemed position and basically loses nothing from it. Which is kind of a feat.
He is FULLY aware of this audacity, it's not a stupid move or it's not something done for the sake of it. He throws himself about because he can and he can get away with it and it's a way of making his feelings known, and Corlys is a pretty straightforward, blunt kind of guy. You know where you stand in Corlys's opinion. When it comes to not going to King's Landing, he probably thought: "I've been away from home for 3 years, in a conflict that would have been solved earlier and with the Crown's support, if I'd been listened to. Daemon will tell the King all he needs to know, I'd quite like to go home. I don't have to report to Viserys."
In the show, he's also engaging in discussions with Braavos at that time, for Laena's hand, which is why Viserys scrabbles around to get Rhaenyra married, and ultimately decides on Laenor. In looking out for his own house, Corlys risks becoming more influential than the Crown. He's already richer. He's got dragons. Heck, his heirs have Targaryen blood, his wife has a claim to the seat that Viserys is sat on. If Corlys and Rhaenys had wanted to dissent, they had the wherewithal to do it. But because he's threatening nothing of the kind, Viserys can't stop him from negotiating with Braavos. He can only present him with an offer to fix him at the Crown's side, because as long as that rift remains, the Velaryons are or could be a threat.
Back to the general audacity, I also think that Corlys likely thinks that everything to do with him is obviously going to make the Crown stronger, right? His wife should have been Queen. His daughter would make the better match. His army can go into the Stepstones and protect the realm. His gold can fund it. His experience can lead the efforts. His Fleet makes up majority of the Navy. His son is the only suitable match to Viserys's daughter. There's a lot of pride that obviously goes in that and no wonder he has a high opinion of himself. The fact that he keeps being denied what he sees is logical and that it's not something that he can solve by swinging his bardiche around is galling for him - especially when it comes to the Iron Throne.
But as much as all of this tension is there, he's a very loyal subject. He never goes over the line. He bows at every instance he needs to. He accepts whomever the King wants as his heir - sticking with Daemon because that's who it was going to be, then vouching for his wife when it's up for grabs, but ultimately swearing to Rhaenyra and upholding that oath over the decades because those are the rules he's got to play by and to do anything else is dishonourable.
Proposing his daughter, whilst Otto says is "overreaching", Lyonel accepts it as "fair play" to a man in Corlys's position. Asking for his name on Rhaenyra's children, again, is a calculated risk. You don't gain anything by asking and he doesn't refuse the match over it. He's no poorer for it!
And he cares for Viserys, I genuinely think that. They disagree and have different priorities a lot of the time and Corlys does not believe the man should have been the King, but, hey, that's family, isn't it? And what matters is he IS King. Corlys smiles genuinely at Viserys a couple of times, sees the love his wife bares her cousin, their children have grown up together, they now share grandchildren. It's all tied up in there. He cared when Visery was ill and not in a way that suggested political motivation, either. He even asks Rhaenys if he pushed Viserys too far.
Also, because I love this, the sequence in the Hall of Nine in Episode 05 was actually shortened! As Viserys turns to leave with Lyonel, because he's ill and it's done, Corlys winks at his wife (who is giving him a silent look of: don't do it), and asks after COMPENSATION for the ships he lost in the Stepstones. I think Lyonel is meant to have a line in response that his basically: don't push your luck, mate.
Anyway, that's a very long way of saying: yes, he's audacious, and I love that about him.

since we're just picking AUs out of a hat now- Baelon is Rhaenyra's twin, not Visenya?
Baelon and Rhaenyra, the dynamic duo Westeros did not need or want or ask for and would really like to go away!
They bicker so much. Ruthless mocking at all times. She shoved him down the stairs when they were eight. He waterboarded her once. He finds out she has a crush on Daemon when they're fourteen and laughs so hard that he almost throws up. She told the pretty handmaiden he was ogling that he has whatever the Westerosi version of STDs are.
(Baelon: *shoving a dresser in front of his bedroom door so no one can surprise him in the night*
Aemma, who came to say good night: why
Baelon, who put laxatives in Rhaenyra's food two days ago and is anxiously waiting for payback: no reason)
But they love each other! It is very much a "I am allowed to commit war crimes against you and enact terrible punishments upon you, but I will carve out the organs of the next person to make you cry who isn't me" relationship.
Baelon has his mom! He loves his mom, is the epitome of a mama's boy, is always popping in to be like "hi, mother! found you a flower! okay, love you, bye!" He's not as angry, doesn't feel guilty. He has a better relationship with his dad because of this, even if he still feels the pressure and the unease of it all.
(There is always, always the nagging sense that he has forgotten something, is missing something, but he can never figure out what it is.)
Rhaenyra's childhood isn't better exactly because she's still in Baelon's shadow, but she also grows up with less of the desperate energy around her parents having a son. There isn't the constant pressure of "you're a disappointment for not being a boy, we need a prince, why couldn't you have been this, you're useless to us" because Baelon's around.
Now, when Visenya is born, there are two paths it can take.
One, Aemma lives.
Baelon loves his little sister! He does! The age gap is...weird, to say the least, and he doesn't really know what he's supposed to do with her, but hey! Everyone's happy.
They grow up, all of them. Daemon runs off with Rhaenyra--Baelon is significantly more angry about this than our Baelon is, since he's older and more aware that "hey he took my sister into a brothel and then took her from her wedding??" But he gets over it.
His father betroths him to Laena, despite Otto Hightower's wiggling about to put forth his daughter. He doesn't really have a reason to protest, so he doesn't. They get married. They name their daughters Alysanne and Rhaena, and they call their only son Corlys for her father.
He never really falls in love with Laena, but he does love her! They're happy, they're content. It's a nice life.
And, yes, maybe sometimes he catches his eyes lingering on Visenya when she gets older--eighteen and nineteen and twenty. Maybe he likes the way she laughs and the funny faces she makes at him, the jokes she whispers under her breath that make him choke on his wine. Maybe. Maybe she makes that feeling he's had all his life disappear, and he only notices it's back when she's away from him again.
But Baelon isn't Daemon. Baelon is married, Baelon is a father, and she is a girl young enough to be his daughter. Not a full handful of years older than his son. He puts those odd looks and the odd feelings away, locks them away deep and deeper.
(She tries, oh, she tries so hard to make him see her. Her brother with his laughing smile and the warm gaze, who never treats her like a child, who took her flying because her egg never hatched. She loves him, she loves him, but he calls her little sister and never takes the bait.)
And when Visenya marries, some Tully boy with bright eyes and a quick smile, he tells himself the missing feeling had nothing to do with her at all.
Their parents die, eventually. He becomes a king. His son marries one of Rhaenyra's daughters. His twin daughters marry Rhaenyra's twin sons, and they all pretend they don't know why. Visenya has a daughter, and he sees them both at weddings and during visits, and he loves his little sister even if he doesn't understand why looking at her makes his soul ache.
They live. They die. Parallel lines in this life, both alive and breathing right beside each other, but neither of them ever bridges the gap.
Two, Aemma dies in childbirth as she does in canon.
This path is a very depressing path! Baelon and Viserys's relationship is a thousand times worse than it was because he's not losing the idea of a mother, he's lost his mother that he's known and adored for fifteen years.
And, beyond even that, Baelon blames Visenya.
God, does he blame Visenya.
Just. This little brat, this squalling and screaming and useless little thing that he and Rhaenyra had been so excited for! They picked her egg out together, though he let Rhaenyra have the final say, joked to each other over whether the babe would be a boy or a girl. And now she's here. And his mother is gone. Rhaenyra has thrown herself into being around the babe and loving the babe, has decided that Visenya is her responsibility, but Baelon can't. He can't look at her. He hates her, and he knows that isn't rational. He knows! But he can't stop.
His father remarries, and he and Rhaenyra both are furious. It is her friend he marries, the Hightower girl Baelon has never liked very much and liked even less for the way her father was always sleazing about. It is their mother he is disrespecting, taking a wife so soon, a wife so young it is shameful, a wife Baelon knows was sneaking alone into his chambers in the weeks after his mother died. He hates her. He makes no secret of it.
His father weds him to Laena to appease the Velaryons. Rhaenyra is meant to marry some pompous arse of a man, but Daemon snatches her from the wedding. Viserys will not allow her to take Visenya with her, will not allow his brother to return, and so the babe stays. Baelon refuses to have anything to do with her, leaves the table when she is brought too near.
He and Laena have sons, two boys with Laena's brown skin and his violet eyes. They name them Jacaerys and Lucerys.
His stepmother has four children, and he does not hate them, exactly. He does not love them, either. Does not like them, except for the girl. Helaena is sweet and strange, and she asks him often in a prim little voice to lift her up on his shoulders so she might catch the spiders in the corners. He has little use for his brothers, though, Aegon or Daeron or Aemond.
("He looks just like you," Viserys laughed, when Aemond was maybe seven or so, and Baelon turned a flat, expressionless look on his little brother. The boy looked back, lips upturning faintly in the corners, hopeful, hopeful, but it faded when Baelon snorted a laugh.
"I've not nearly as much common blood muddying my veins."
Aemond swallowed, and, beneath the table, Visenya slipped their hands together and squeezed.)
They grow up together, his sons and his siblings, and they are close for the most part. Rhaenyra comes home with her giant brood, occasionally, and then it is a madhouse, but it is usually just the six of them.
His boys and Aegon pick mercilessly at Aemond and Visenya both, they the only two without a dragon, and so the two of them are often alone. Reading on staircases and in the godswood, bickering in the halls, and more than once he's had to restrain himself from tearing into them both when they've gone running past him too quickly to keep from knocking into his shins.
They marry when they're older, as he always thought they would--sneak off to do it, two dragonless whelps half-grown ducking a ship to Dragonstone, and they come back with scars on their lips and dragons beneath them. Visenya and Vermithor. Aemond and Silverwing.
He never forgives her for living. He never forgives her for his mother dying.
Their father dies, and his brothers bend their knees. Part of him always wondered if they would, if he'd have to kill them for it, if he cared enough to kill them for it.
Aemond and Visenya spend a few years bouncing here and there and back again, exploring and exploring, but there is something itching beneath their skin, something calling for them. It will kill them, if it is what he thinks it is. He does not care much.
He's right about the calling, and one day they aim themselves towards Valyria and don't come back down.
They don't come back. He doesn't ever really wish them to.
He lives in this life. So does she. But there is no love between them. No anything, really. Baelon dies first because he always does. Visenya, all those miles away, doesn't even notice.

You may already be aware, but I actually found ppl going back and forth on Reddit about a post you'd made on here (re Viserys being a shite parent). It's under r/HouseOfTheDragon in case you ever wanted to check it out. I just recognized your name, as I follow you and it was shared as a screenshot from here.
lmao i will never get over how wild reposting on the internet actually is. that fucker has over a thousand comments and i had no idea until you told me just now! literally made a reddit account to try to add my voice to the din just to encourage people to discuss on the original platform so i can see but tbh people on reddit are a lot meaner than tumblr so i won't be mad if it doesn't get too many upvotes.
reddit's responses to this post is such an interesting case study in the polarization that's happening everywhere online. i get SO MANY accusations of being wildly biased from supporters of both "teams" all the time and it's funny because like am i too team green or too team black bc i can't be both right? mostly i think it's because people get really defensive when you criticize a character and assume it means you hate them. like bruh we are adults with big girl emotions can't it be a little more complex than that?
when i say i think viserys is a bad parent, i'm not saying it as team green propaganda. i've said before that rhaenyra is the rightful ruler and that i absolutely adore her as a character (let's just say aemond isn't my only babygirl). there's a reason i've written 100k+ words of fanfic designing a political scenario where she'll be able to happily rule without any of her children dying. spoiler alert: it's not because i hate her and think she's a bad ruler. and she's far from the only character on team black i love: daemon, jacaerys, lucerys, and baela all come to mind.
it's also really interesting to me that people see my opinion about viserys and, even though i literally did not mention rhaenyra, assume that i'm somehow shitting on her. it just goes to show how much they stand blindly by one team or another. that to criticize one member of their "team" feels to them like you're criticizing every member. like baby, i'm not the one making it about teams: you are! honestly, i understand why the team mentality was a good marketing move, but it really has been the death of critical thinking in this fandom. there are aspects of both that we're meant to root for, just as there are aspects of both we're meant to hate. none of these people are objectively morally good, and that's what makes it interesting, so why are we trying to pretend otherwise?
so while yes, i don't like viserys, why would i extend that dislike to rhaenyra? it's not like she forced him at gunpoint to do the things i'm criticizing him for lol. in fact, i think viserys did her just as dirty most of the time. i have another post in the works about this, but he neglected her for her entire childhood, groomed her best friend and dealt with telling her in the worst possible way, and made her heir in a bid for her affection yet did none of the actual work to honor her as a ruler. he could have made her his hand but instead he made her pour his wine?
now, again, just because we dislike part of something does not mean it's all bad. do i think viserys is generally quite a bad parent and person? absolutely. did i also cry ugly tears in the scene where he forces himself up from his literal deathbed to defend his daughter? yes. these two things can coexist.
also, because reddit is reddit, there are a bunch of comments that just miss my point about alicent and aemma entirely. i've already responded to those in a post here so i won't beat a dead horse too much. but to paraphrase: viserys married alicent because he liked her specifically not for duty or he would've married someone who wouldn't horrify the entire small council; and aemma didn't need to be alive and conscious for the pain she was put through at the end of her life. the things he did to his wives weren't necessary and i don't think we should be pretending they were.
lastly, it's really funny to me how many people incorrectly assumed i was a man in the comments. i'm genuinely the girliest girl to ever girl in real life (makeup jewelry and tits to the gods, sorority girly, the whole nine yards, i love it) and it gave me such whiplash. there's a joke to be made here about trying to weaponize male privilege somewhere.

Do you think things would be different for reader if she married Aegon instead of Aemond
Things would be different for sure… better? Eh. Worse? Who knows. I said before I think they opened to each other at the right time. I think there would be messiness if they got married but they’d be giving opposite attract realness
I’m annoying so let’s do a little fmo reader x Aegon au
- so reader still meets the fam through Helaena, Alicent still takes a liking to reader
- marriage is something Alicent has put off for Aegon for a year or two (post driftmark) bc viserys is pushing hel and him get married. She knows neither of them want that
- so she goes to otto and begs for some help. She already has to deal with watching her one eyed son mope around. She can’t do Aegon and Helaena doing the same. Otto is like “hehe ok 🤭”
- if we want to get extra spicy. Let’s say otto hears through the grapevine (the spies) that daemon and Rhaenyra are like “omg reader would be sooo cute for Jace”. Otto is like yeah I can’t let daemon have anything 🤨
- he already had his eye on reader. Now I think a fun twist is that Alicent turns the marriage down at first. She looks at reader and then her son who now has to start everyday with a drink, and gets a bad feeling. While with Aemond and reader, she thinks they would work bc she sees similarities
- otto says it’s either reader or they go through with hel and Aegon. Alicent takes the inch she’s given and says ok
- reader’s parents are ELATED. Reader is scared bc she doesn’t know Aegon. The only time they’ve interacted is her lying for Aegon. She sees Alicent being like “did you sneak out. I will revoke you sunfyre privileges”. Reader feels bad and tells Alicent Aegon was helping her and Helaena with something. Aegon is like “you know what girl whose name I can’t remember you slay for that”
- the wedding was the event of the century I fear.
- the wedding night is horribly awkward. Reader knows it’s not his first, while Aegon knows it is hers. I think Aegon’s ummm sexual history is something she’s a bit insecure about. They kind of just lay there afterwards, silent. It’s pretty bad… then crude joke and reader almost pees herself laughing. The joke itself isn’t that funny, she just can’t help but laugh at the situation she finds herself in.
- everything is going pretty well considering these are two people who don’t know each other well and basically forced to get married. Things are good till reader starts having problems getting pregnant. She’s not stupid, she knows a lot hinges on her have a son in particular
- a difference I see between Aegon and reader versus Aemond and reader is that Aegon and reader fight HARD. While Aemond is more passive aggressive, doesn’t like to raise his voice. Aegon and reader can get real nasty when they want to. Reader says Aegon’s drinking is why he’s shooting blanks, Aegon calls her barren
- funnily enough, the night of that fight, baelon targaryen second of his name is conceived. Another spring Prince (I think similar to daella, viserys picks out the name. Aegon thinks it’s a turning point for their relationship. Spoiler alert: it’s not 😭) (also I headcanon that Rhaenyra is pissed about the naming, hence her naming egg 3, Aegon)
- reader had a really difficult labor. It kind of scares about having more kids but she knows she will eventually be expected to have more
- I see baelon looking at lot like his grandmother 🥺 which in turn means he looks a lot like Aegon. Reader’s genes didn’t stand a chance
- things are good… till reader hears a couple of maidservants gossiping about Aegon. She sort of just snaps lol. Reader hasn’t felt 100% in her body since having baelon, and her sex drive is a lot lower. She knows her husband. She gets Aegon doesn’t need mushy lovey dovey feelings to engage in sex. But on the other hand, she just had a BABY. His baby, and he gets even keep it in his pants long enough for her to figure things out.
- I think reader is extra embarrassed bc it’s not random brothel women she will probably never see. It’s women around the castle, some of which interact with her kid.
- she debates confronting Aegon or not. But she knows all she will get is a “but baby I love you not them 🥺”. So she thinks, if I’m gonna put up with this, I ought to get something out of it. I’m gonna be the fucking queen of the seven kingdoms and my son will be future king.
- pre the cheating, reader and Aegon were on the same page about not pushing the heir thing. They were fine will Aegon never taking the throne.
- reader is like who can I go to, enter otto… again. She gets a seat to the green council. She feels guilty when they start talking about killing Rhaenyra, especially when she notices the queen is absent.
- otto tells her to reassure Aegon’s line more. One boy isn’t enough.
- aegor and Aenar (the realm’s twins) are born (yes reader is a boy mom)
I don’t really know where the story would go. Probably the usurping then them having to deal with reader being in on. I think the moral is, reader would probably still have to worry about her husband being a prince that thinks he can whatever he wants. He probably throws in her face that her parents are social climbers and raised their daughter to be one (low blow)
That being said, I think there is more affection between reader and Aegon. He says he loves her but like… how much love is there if you are cheating 😭
IF we want a spicy twist, I like the idea of reader being someone who reads to viserys in his poor health. Sort of similar to how Alicent did to Jaehaerys. In fire and blood, there would def be an excerpt about how reader poisoned viserys to get Aegon on the throne (and maybe she did who know 👀)

Follow up for the HCs: Daemon & Nettles version!
-Nettles doesn't move around a lot when she sleeps but Daemon SPRAWLS and is a clinging bed partner. Nettles does have a habit of clasping their hands together when they sleep though (funny enough their dragons are similar sometimes they find Caraxes dropped across poor Sheepstealer)
-They're both quiet and slow morning people. They need an hour or 2 after waking up in order to have a full conversation. Their mornings are always peacefully quite with the expectation of maids moving about and birds chirping
-The first time Daemon washed Nettles back she teased him about all the spots he missed
-The first time Daemon heard her sing she was with Sheepstealer, Daemon also sings while he washes Nettles hair. He wanted to teach Nettles old valaryian lullabies so he can hear her voice singing his favorite lullabies
-Daemon is overprotective over the nickname Netty, it's an intimate name for his Nettles and gets annoyed when someone else's uses it. At maidenpool there was a gaurd/servant that addressed her as Netty (he only heard Daemon referred to her as Netty so he assumed that was her actual name poor guy 😅) Daemon got really annoyed at that and Nettles found it funny, endearing and kind ridiculous
-Speaking of her nickname Nettles realizes that at some point she starts referring to herself as Netty whenever she has inner monologues she has no idea when she started going that
-Nettles isnt a fan of pda. She's just not used to it after years of being alone when Daemon realizes this he usually just keeps a hand on her back and shoulder to be more neutral but during meals they lock their feet together or their thighs are braced up
-whenever they have a disagreement they both shut down when facing conflict but they never part, Daemon might be snappy but he's always with her, they still take baths together if their mad except Nettles would sit across from him instead of up against him
Sorry if these aren't so good, I'm so glad you enjoyed my Nettles HC 😅 (might do some slight NSFW ones next)
I love all of them 🙌🏽 I can really see Daemon getting pissed the hell off when someone calls his Netty Netty. He’s like, “Her name is Nettles to you.” 🤣Like that’s their thing. It is childish, but Nettles can not help but laugh at it when he starts fuming 🤣
Oh and even when they are mad at each other they really still can’t keep apart from the other 🤣That is so sweet 🥹 Very interested to see your NSFW headcanons 😏

The Targ Talk (a review series): House of the Dragon episode 3
[🔥]
This isn't supposed to be funny but hey, this is HOTD, some fucked up shit can crack me up like the first scene in this episode where the crab feeder was feeding a hostage to the crabs (the latter was yelling and cursing at him), then Daemon appeared and burned a lot of Craghas Drahar's men and the hostage was like, "Save me my prince!" but he got stepped on...by Caraxes.
The strained relationship between Rhaenyra and Viserys is giving me a normal father and daughter vibes. Rhaenyra is seventeen in this timeline, meaning she's at her rebellious stage. Again, I couldn't blame her, apart from the fact that she hasn't completely healed from her mother's loss, she felt betrayed by her own bff and father and when the two started a family together, she felt like she was being left out. Viserys persuading her to marry made her feel like her dad is shunning her away, that he no longer needs him because he already has a male heir.
Just a little fun fact: In the novel, Rhaenyra actually supported Viserys' marriage to Alicent and the latter even called her "daughter," it was upon the birth of Aegon that their relationship fell apart. It was actually Alicent who voiced out to the king about the line of succession AND suggested the betrothal between Aegon II and Rhaenyra.
When Rhaenyra was attacked by a wild boar but was initially saved by Criston Cole, it was still alive so the anguished Rhaenyra stabbed it multiple times. I felt her anger, loneliness and frustrations which makes me love Milly Alcock even more. She is such a gem!
The stag hunting scene wherein Viserys found out that his men failed to catch the white hart and the look on his face, the night before he was questioning his decision to name Rhaenyra as heir. But after finding out that they didn't catch the white hart, Viserys knew he made the right choice which I think is an important part of the story. In Fire and Blood, Viserys simply refused to change the order of succession (in my theory, maybe it was because he didn't want to hurt his daughter's feelings or something like that), but in the show at least his reasons were clearer.
Speaking of the white hart, I got excited that it was actually Rhaenyra who saw it. It's fitting since SPOILER ALERT (based on Fire and Blood) none of Alicent's children and grandchildren will survive and the succeeding rulers of the Seven Kingdoms (including Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen) are actually descendants of Daemon and Rhaenyra.
The look on everyone's faces when the princess returned with Ser Criston. Love that Rhaenyra was just casually walking around like the badass princess that she was (with wild boar's blood on her face), even the middle finger (Otto Hightower) was fucking speechless. But I see that Harwin Strong is already fanboying her, and to those who have read the book, we know who he is 😉. Also, I want to note Alicent's face when she saw her, the queen was like, "This little brat is trying to show off," and I love it!
The battle at the Stepstones was fucking epic! Laenor Velaryon riding Seasmoke and burning enemies was an exhilarating sight. Speaking of dragons, I wonder when will we be seeing Meleys and Vhagar?
Daemon's reaction to Viserys' letter 🥺🥺 at one point I thought he was going to cry or something. But then again, he is Daemon he doesn't do shit like that. Then he broke into a smile, I swear to the gods that he looked like a little boy who was finally given what he wanted. And of course, him killing Craghas Drahar ❤️❤️
[Meh]
I've mentioned before that I'm not the biggest fan of Alicent Hightower. But seeing her character in the show, I think I kinda like her more in the book. In the novel, Alicent is cunning, clever, and basically has a mind of her own but in the series, she seems to be the opposite. Easily manipulated, and only follows her father's orders without question. I'd like to think that she truly cares for Rhaenyra as she tried to reach out to her a couple of times and even believed that she's fit to rule the Seven Kingdoms. But I can't shake the feeling that Otto is holding her by the neck which is why Alicent does whatever she's told. Well, even the king himself is easily swayed by his hand, what more of his daughter? Might I add that it made me cringe when she called Viserys "my love."
[WTF]
I already know what kind of King Viserys I is like but maaaan, seeing this with my own two eyes is just frustrating af. As a leader, he doesn't have a spine, only cares about parties and never addresses the pressing matters. I honestly can't tell whether he's in denial or just fucking dumb. Perhaps both.

Okay I’m way late to the party, but I just finished House of the Dragon and I have a lot of thoughts.
Huge shoutout to the set designers and Ramin Djawadi for the fantastic sets and music. Even the characters’ rooms look distinct, and I’ve had the theme stuck in my head for days now.
The costumes!! I love the costumes! I want to make every piece of clothing on this show and wear it!!
Helaena is autistic, argue with the wall. She has a bug special interest, speaks very little and seemingly doesn’t recognize social cues (ex. her unintentionally roasting Aegon), and is very touch-averse. Also she’s done nothing wrong ever, which means something horrible will probably happen to her.
Matt Smith as Daemon reignited my crush on the 11th Doctor and made it worse. Him in that really long wig made me feel things.
Aemond is really cool and also kind of funny. Didn’t deserve to lose an eye to Lucerys, he may have gotten a dragon but still, he was ten and lost an eye? Add that to the trauma pile, I guess
Not enough people talk about how bad of a parent Viserys was.
Alicent. Alicent has so much depth of character, I could rant about her for way too long.
Aegon is my favorite. Yes, I know what he did, and I don’t like it at all. However, I took one look at kid Aegon and went “what a little shit, I love him” and the rest is history. This show does his character such a disservice by painting him as a two-dimensional villain, and Tom Glynn-Carney gives him so much depth.
Tom Glynn-Carney is to Aegon what Dacre Montgomery is to Billy Hargrove, in that they both have the only correct interpretations of their characters 😌
Can we please see Dreamfyre and Sunfyre? (Are those their dragons’ names? Idk I’ve never read the books) I need to see Helaena and Aegon with their dragons
I do think Rhaenyra is the best available choice for the throne, but all my faves are Greens so idk what side that puts me on. Everyone’s gonna die anyway so it doesn’t matter.
I’m deeply attached to this family of dysfunctional war criminals, and I have a lot of opinions so someone please ask me about them!

I know a lot of people like Rhaenrya and Daemon but I don’t for many reasons, the biggest reason is that daemon groomed rhaenrya and ruined her reputation, but people think he loves her which is so funny to me. Rhaenrya has shown signs of being a spoiled brat many times she’s the time that doesn’t like the rules and doesn’t follow them but expect everyone else to do so, being the queen doesn’t give you freedom you carry the burden of responsibility of the seven kingdoms and Visersys told her that and how daemon isn’t a person who can handle that, but what does she do? Fucks him at his wife’s funeral and then marries him, and people are surprised that he choked her?? BFFR! I’m not the biggest fan of alicent but I understand her way more, she didn’t want to be queen she just followed her father’s choice and truly did believe rhaenyra would have been a great queen but rhaenyra then lied to alicent which gets her father fired (but he kinda deserved it) and even when Rhaenyra gave birth to her sons, she’s putting her self on a ship of thin ice. If ONE of Alicent’s kids came out with Brown hair even if that’s alicent’s hair color y’all know they would’ve killed her. I don’t like the double standard that Rhaenyra and Daemon and Visersys have, I’m not a team green or a black but I have more respect for the greens, not saying aegon would be a great king because he’s not but Rhaenyra isn’t the best option either. Another thing is if Viserys never was going to name aegon as king, why did he remarry and have more children if he was always going to up hold Rhaenyra?? I love Rhaena and Aemond I feel like if they were betrothed then this whole greens and blacks would end, but of course Daemon can only think of himself and a way to make his way to the throne. He doesn’t care for his family the way people think he does, he wants the throne. Wish more people would wake up and realize that. Sorry for the rant but I had to let that out.
Lol, no problem.
I didn't read F&B so I don't get the fandom war. I'm not on any team myself. If I had to pick one though, it would be the greens. Mostly because I nearly always root for the underdogs, but also because you sort of just have to go with the lesser evil if forced to choose?
I liked Rhaenyra well enough until she called for Aemond to be interrogated and fussed about her arm being scratched while Aemond was sitting there maimed for life with eye stitches.
Viserys... I think he just wanted a young girl in his bed immediately and didn't want to wait the two years for Laena to turn 14. Better the child you watched grow up alongside your daughter than some random 12 year old your cousin is trying to set you up with.
I don't have much thoughts about Daemon other than that he reminds me too much of Damon from vampire diaries. Lol. He killed his wife, got exiled for being creepy with his young niece, and then ran off to Pentos with an actual child who was 3 years younger than Rhaenyra. Like, I just imagine Laena as this girl who probably saw him as her father's cool friend from their whole Crabfeeder war, so yeah, he's just some pedo groomer wife-killer imo.
I get the need to rant. After they killed Vaemond, I was livid, but it helps to just avoid interacting with the parts of the fandom you don't enjoy. There's something about GRRM books that just brings out the worst in some people. I'm not into the whole "Targ nation"/ "Valyrian supremacy"/ "racial purity" thing, so I just stick to my little corner of AO3 and block the tags and the weirdos. 😅
Life is too short and precious to spend time being upset with shippers. HotD is not a show worth losing your peace over.
