I just saw a post asking which Link would make the best villain and....
It's Time guys
Like, I love the man, but let's be real; he's a second from snapping and committing atrocities.
Twilight is so thoroughly traumatized by the vision the spirits gave him and Fi's judgement of him that he literally can't stand messing with magic that isn't actually his own or connected to him. And while, sure, he doesn't need magic to be a villain, let's be real, it'd take something magical to force him to turn his back on everything he's ever fought for.
Similarly, Wild fought and died for his kingdom, and his people. There is nothing and no one worse than what he's already seen that could possibly make him turn his back on it all and throw his work down the drain just to destroy everything he'd built himself.
Legend is the same. he's been doing this far too long to ditch now. Granted, he's a grump, but if you look at his games, you see he's a highly empathetic and caring person. Unlike the others, who were tasked with saving the world by a mentor or friend, or had to go and save a friend or family member, or who where sworn to duty; Legend was literally some kid who was asked by an utter stranger to help, and did. Six times. No way someone like that is going to go and destroy everything.
And Wind! Wind is a moral guy, with a good heart. he set out for personal reasons and saw in his journey that there were bigger fish to fry, and he fried them. He had no reason to take it on, no call of the goddess, no responsibility, no reason for him, a child, to go and save the world as well as his sister, but he did it anyway.
Sky and Warriors are simply too devout. Warriors to the kingdom and it's people; with everything he suffered for them, you can't tell me the man isn't dedicated to serving his country. And Sky is loyal to Sun, who is Hylia, so he literally would never go against her. And by the law of the Zelda universe, villains are those who go against Hylia and Hyrule.
Four is an iffy one. Most people might say "but Vio was a villain!" but let's be real; if you read the manga, you know Vio was bluffing all along. If Vio, part of Four, didn't bow even under Shadow's influence, and Vaati's, and Ganon's, then again; who and what would drive this man to become a villain? Granted, the persuing of dark magic to bring back his lost friend could be argued, but is more likely to lead to his corruption than his attempting to take over Hyrule and kill innocents.
Hyrule is tough, since we have very little to work off of in cannon, but come on, even if Hyrule did turn to evil, he wouldn't exactly be able to do much. Hyrule's already in ruins in his time, and the monsters wouldn't hear of working beside him. He'd have everyone against him, and even if he does hold the triforce in it's entirety and thus could do all sorts of horrible things, he has neither motivation nor reason to turn away to becoming a villain.
Time though......
Time has watched the world burn and all his efforts be turned around and lost. He has lost everything so many times, usually with no reward or reason. In the end, Time, though a good man, cares more for the individual than the country. He cares about his wife and his boys, and based off the scars, we can only guess what lengths he's already gone to in order to accomplish his goals.
Time, if faced with the right issue, has every risk of dropping from defender to threat. Hyrule be damned, this man cares for his wife, his kids, his home, and if you threaten that, no matter who you are, he will go after you. He's one second away from going after Hylia and all she has done to him and those around him. He detests the Blade of Evil's bane, the symbol of Hylia's blessing. He borders every moment on the precipice of taking power beyond mortals to fulfill his own wishes, even if it is to help those he loves.
Put Malon in danger, heck, one of the boys, and Time won't let something silly like morals stop him from doing whatever it takes to protect what little that is still his and hasn't already been taken from him. He will fight tooth and nail not to lose anything else, and he won't let even the goddesses stop him.l

I Can Love You For You
CW: (past) Self-harm
Dick Grayson
It happens when he's talking about something in that animated way that makes you smile
It just so happens that he's holding a cup of coffee and it spills... all over your hoodie
You both scramble to take it off which is when he sees the scars
He holds your wrists and keeps asking you what they are. what happened. why you felt that way
He's so concerned for you it makes you feel loved in a way you haven't felt loved in a long time
Makes you your favourite snack and drink before telling you to explain everything that happened
Jason Todd
He wakes you up during him having a nightmare and you wait for him to wake upon his own accord
It's the first time you've slept over at his place and he didn't tell you about having nightmares
When he finally wakes up you comfort him and he seems to trust you
Trust you enough to open about what happened to him without you knowing him for more than a month or two. he tells you everything and almost seems ashamed of it
So you open up too. To tell him it's okay and that what happened to him wasn't his fault
Eventually you both fall silent and just hold each other. Understanding that you're both just half a person and together you might fit as one.
Tim Drake
He figures out pretty early into your relationship, like two or three weeks, that you used to self-harm
He's seen it many times and he knows the behaviours that follow, but he just doesn't know how to bring it up to you in a way that isn't forcing you into anything uncomfortable
A month or two into the relationship, this idiot is still trying to figure out how to bring it up when you tell him
He wasn't expecting it but is relieved that you feel comfortable enough to talk to him about it
He remains supportive and comforting the whole time, holding your hand and rubbing your thigh (only if you want him to, of course)
Damian Wayne
Definitely notices something's constantly off about you
At one point he's almost convinced himself you're a criminal trying to spy in him and his family, though that thought only lasts like an hour
At one point he asks you to take a shower with him and you just say 'No.'
That's when it hit him
He gave it away that he knew by constantly holding your wrists and suddenly all your razors were gone and the kitchen knives vanished too, only able to use his knives when he was the one cooking
You eventually opened up to him one night and told him everything. he didn't judge you and didn't say anything until you were finished telling him
Held you so tight that night that you almost couldn't breathe
Need mental help of any kind?
There's no need to feel ashamed about what's happened to you. Life can get the better on all of us at one point or another; but if someone does walk in and you don't have time to close the website properly, you can use the button at the top of the web page to quickly switch the tab to a weather forecast website.

Great-x Grandparents
SHANK SHANK SHANK SHANK SHANK-
@syntheticspades @vio-starzz
Tumblr media
He had married Link two days ago. Banners and streams were still all around Ordon, green and red. He asked what the green was for, Link shook his shoulders so much he thought his head would pop off.
The smile on Link’s was like a miasma. He didn’t hear the words spewing from his lips. The only thing he took away was, “green good” and he couldn’t agree more.
Then there was the actual wedding. Even if Shad had one hundred hands, he still wouldn’t be able to count how many kisses he received from Link and Uli alone. It seemed that kisses were regular in Ordon. Forehead, nose, the back of the hand, cheek.
It was a beautiful scene, especially with Colin’s master flower throwing. He remembered when Link said that the boy should be their flower girl. Shad laughed and asked if Colin would like that. They wrote a letter and sent it off. A letter came back a week later. No name, just an address.
YES
The two didn’t expect to see the boy in a dress at the reception. It made Shad have to cover his face because of how red it got.
The only thing better than being told “you may kiss the groom” was the dance. Link had forgotten all about the dance. Shad hadn’t, though he knew Link had two left feet.
Their dance was sloppy, noticeably unpracticed, but it was perfect. Link laid his head on Shad’s shoulder, his cheeks an obvious rose red. Shad laughed with every misstep.
“When’ll this be over?” Link whined, picking his head up to give Shad his puppy eyes. He yelped as Shad dipped him.
Shad picked him back up and everyone cheered with a smile. “It’s over now,” Shad said, picking Link’s hand up to his lips.
“I’m gonna bite you,” Link laughed. Shad saw someone waving him over.
“Love, that’s what tonight is for.” Shad let go of Link’s hand and left him speechless.
That night…he felt as if he shouldn’t think about it this late at night. But then again, we were walking in a dark forest. But then again, he was walking in a dark forest because of…memories like that. One thing that he knew, Link sure did bite.
Shad took a deep breath, taking in the air of Faron woods. They had decided to stay in Ordon for a few days before they waddled back into Castle Town.
Shad swayed to the imaginary song that played in his head. Definitely the one Link played the second Shad gave him his wedding gift, a guitar. Then something caught his eye. Something bright. He turned his head and was met with a spectacle like nothing he’d seen before.
A wolf. A golden wolf. A golden wolf with a single red eye. Shad tensed. He never thought this day would come.
Asking for Rusl and Uli’s blessing was hard enough. Now, imagine getting judged by your fian-…husband’s great-x grandfather in the form of a wolf. Who, by the way, could tear you to shreds with how big he was.
Yes, Shad knew. Link had told him practically everything about his adventure. Then, of course, there were the parts that he’d seen with his own eyes.
Link had told him about this wolf. This wolf that turned into something akin to a stalfos. This wolf that taught like so much of what he knows now. This wolf, the Hero of Time.
So, that’s another thing. Imagine getting judged by your husband’s great-x grandfather in the form of a wolf who used to be a well known general in the Hyrulian army. If he didn’t approve, he couldn’t tell Shad, but he could kill him pretty easily.
“A pleasure to meet you, great-“ Shad had already forgotten how many greats there were, “-grandfather-in-law.” Shad waved slightly.
The wolf stalked forward and Shad gulped. The wolf circled Shad, sniffing at him, clawing at his pants on occasion.
The wolf stopped somewhere on his leg. Shad looked down to see what the beast had found and he felt his body go rigid. It was the only bite mark from their wedding night where Link had bit down too hard, causing blood.
The wolf’s head picked up, its one eye looking Shad dead on. Shad held his breath, praying for this spirit to be merciful. Then the wolf’s ears perked up, its head snapping in the opposite direction of Shad.
There, running toward them was a small red ferret. It made squeaky noises as it ran at them. The wolf stepped back, making a path for the ferret.
Shad, excepting his fate, knelt down and feld his hands out. The ruby ferret crashed into his arms.
Shad lifted the ferret, but kept it arms length. “Hi little guy!”
The wolf let out a low rumble.
Shad nodded. “Girl, noted.” The ferret’s head turned and squeaked at the wolf. The wolf’s head fell.
Shad laughed. “Link hasn’t told me about you Miss. Who may you be?” Both animals looked at him, the silence carrying for a few seconds. Every second, Shad felt dumber and dumber. “Right, animal spirits.”
The ruby ferret escaped from his hands and ran into his hair. The ferret made another sound, this definitely not squeaking. It was almost like it was trying to scream but stopped every half second.
The wolf huffed and shook its head. Then its ears went up again. The ferret stopped playing in Shad’s hair.
“Shad!”
Shad’s breath caught in his throat. I mean, of course he wasn’t scared of Link. No matter how good he was with a sword, he was his husband.
“Link?” He called back, picking the ferret off of his head. She wriggled in his hands. Shad soon put her down.
“You coo coo son of a bitch, why are you out, at night, in the woods?!” He breached the trees into Shad’s sight. He engulfed Shad into his arms, and without a second of hesitation, Shad hugged him back.
“Something just told me to come out here. Seems there’s a name to that something…?” Link let Shad go and looked at him with an obvious question on his mind, what the hell are you talking about?
Link turned around after feeling a nudge at his heel. He dropped to his knees almost immediately, hugging the wolf and, by the looks of the wolf’s posture, strangling it.
The ferret hopped around, definitely excited, and Shad really started to wonder who this ferret was.
What tie did she have to the wolf? Then Shad saw it, something so glaringly obvious that he should've seen before.
Around the ferret's arm was a ring. The moonlight gave it a beautiful shine. While examining the wolf that Link had finally let go of, it was like an earring, but far shinier than he had ever seen.
“You’re…married?” Shad whispered.
Link’s ears twitched and he stood. “Yep! Shad,” Link motioned to the animal spirits, “great great great great great…great grandparents. Great great great great great grandparents, Shad.” He motioned to Shad.
“Five greats, I thought it was seven…?”
“It probably is.”
“Hello great great great great great grandparents-in-law.” Shad waved.

Febuwhump collab day 12 — semi-conscious
This one’s been on ao3 for a bit I just sort of forgot to put it over here XD This one was suggested by @zeldathusiast, I hope you all enjoy!
Tumblr media
No specific warnings apart from a mentioned kidnapping/being held captive, and a bad headache.
Today’s lovely art
Ao3 link
————————————————————
“He has to be here somewhere, right? That tip we got said he’d be here, but maybe they were wrong, Dad kept being vague on where he got it so I don’t know if we can totally trust it, and we should be prepared to get out of here if it’s a trap and if it was wrong we should plan to check that other—”
“Green, we’ll find him, alright?” Twilight reassured for the fifth time in as many minutes. “Don’t worry.”
Green’s mouth clicked shut, and he gave Twilight a tiny nod.
Twilight watched him turn away, the shadows under his eyes more prominent in the harsh artificial lighting they were sneaking past, and felt a familiar squeeze of worry at the similar expressions on the other colors’ faces.
Four had been split almost a week now, and with Red gone missing during a fight, he couldn’t reform.
Four had never been apart for so long, and that along with the panic of not knowing what was happening to Red, he was acting more and more strange, the remaining pieces of him veering more sharply towards what they represented.
Green had been getting more jittery, obsessing over Red’s whereabouts, and acting overly protective over the other two, which was driving them both crazy. Vio had turned to research and often closed himself away, poring over what information they had, and Blue would blow up at even the smallest slight, face red with tears in his eyes.
Twilight could only imagine the state Red was in.
The behavior grew more severe with every passing day, and while nobody said it, as they watched the colors fall apart they all silently wondered how long Four could even be split.
Did he have a limit? Was he nearing it?
And if he reached it..?
Nobody wanted to find out, and their efforts towards locating Red had only gotten more desperate as the days ticked by. All of them were worried and frightened on Four’s behalf, and Twilight knew he wasn’t the only one who was thinking back to that first terrifying week when Sky had gone missing, and stayed missing.
But Time had finally gotten some information that narrowed down where Red could be, to only a few places as compared to the entire city they’d been scouring before.
Which is why Twilight was now sneaking down a harshly lit hallway with a handful of his brothers, trying not to be consumed by worry while they searched.
“We close?” Twilight asked, and Legend nodded, gesturing to an upcoming split path.
“He should be in one of these hallways somewhere, but they’re pretty long. It might take us a while to actually find him,” Legend said with a frown. “...With time we don’t have. We should’ve brought Wild.”
“Well it’s too late now,” Blue snapped from beside him, his hands tightening into fists. “Why didn’t you think of that before we left?!”
“Well sor-ry, Wild’s checking that other place with Dad and Wind, twerp, I didn’t know we’d need him,” Legend snapped back.
“Guys, knock it off,” Twilight said sharply. Good grief, we’re all running on way too little sleep. “We’ll just split up into groups of two.”
“There’s five of us,” Vio pointed out.
“I know that Vio, I meant you and Legend and Green and Blue can pair up, and I’ll go by myself.”
“That seems like a bad idea,” Vio continued with a raised eyebrow. “Aren’t you always saying it’s better we stick together?”
Twilight took in a steadying breath at his snarky tone, ignoring the urge to be sarcastic in return. “Yes, but not in this case.”
“Why don’t we three just go together, and you and Legend team up?” Green suggested, and Twilight and Legend exchanged short glances.
“...No. Better we do duos,” Legend said, and jerked his head towards a hallway. “C’mon. Let’s get going. Come with me Blue, Green and Vio can check the opposite end from us. Twi can check the other hall.”
Twilight nodded when nobody argued, and they all split off, Twilight grateful that Legend would be able to see all of the colors from where he was.
There had been an unspoken rule as of late not to leave any of them alone. Not with how they’d been acting.
Twilight ran down his assigned hallway, peering through every door that had a window, and opening the ones that didn’t. They’d “borrowed” a keycard to use to get into the facilities, and managed to make copies so they could all get past the doors.
Twilight methodically checked every door, working steadily down the hallway. His worry grew the longer he didn’t find any sign of Red, and he picked up the pace, looking more frantically. He was nearly at the end of the corridor, and there’d been no sign anybody was down this way.
Are we sure that info was real? he thought as he approached the very last window in the hall. Mom hasn’t contacted us yet, so her group hasn’t found him... or maybe it was all faked just to give us false hope...
Twilight looked inside, and relief washed over him, intense and thick.
A little figure sat huddled against the wall inside, red clothes bright against the dull color of the room. His blond head was pressed to his knees with such an air of sadness that Twilight’s heart ached, and he quickly ran to the door.
It slid open with a quiet swish, but the figure didn’t move even with the sound, or when Twilight stepped inside.
“Red?” he called.
That made his little brother’s head snap up to stare at him, eyes wide and startled. His gaze landed on Twilight’s face, and his expression turned even more surprised, Red letting out a gasp as he jumped to his feet.
“Twilight!” he shrieked, and bolted, throwing himself into Twilight’s arms with a sob.
Twilight hugged him back just as fiercely, Red crying into his shoulder, and he quickly clicked a button on his radio four times, the signal they’d all agreed to use for “I found him”.
“We found you Smithy, you’re okay now, I got you,” Twilight soothed, his shirt steadily growing damp. “It’s okay. Are you hurt at all?”
“N-no,” Red hiccuped, face still pressed to Twilight’s shirt. “Th-they mostly left me alone, I d-don’t think they even wanted a-a hostage.”
Twilight squeezed him tighter. “I’m so sorry Red.”
Red didn’t reply, aside from another hiccuping sob.
Twilight knew they should get going, but he couldn’t bring himself to make Red move just yet, so he held him a little longer and just let him cry. Red’s louder sobs eventually petered out, and Twilight gave him a comforting pat on the back as Red finally sat up a little, still sniffling.
“Twi, is e-everyone else here?” Red finally asked, letting out a hiccup. “I-I don’t want to be separate anymore.”
“Yeah they came, they’re close by,” Twilight reassured, and Red visibly relaxed, though he still looked upset.
“It was awful being away from them so long,” he whimpered. “It felt...”
He swallowed and didn’t continue, and Twilight gave him a squeeze.
“Well if we want to get you back together, we should get going,” he said, and Red eagerly nodded, wiping his sleeve over his face.
Twilight helped him up, and then turned into a wolf, gesturing for Red to hop on. He gladly did, and they ran went back the way Twilight had come, opting less for sneakiness and more for pure speed. Twilight didn’t want Red to have to wait a second longer than necessary to be back with the other parts of himself, and he loped down the hallways as fast as he could without slipping on the shiny floors.
Red in turn clung tightly to his fur, his head not quite buried in it. Twilight could just barely feel Red’s tears dampening his fur as he sniffled again, and his stomach clenched, even with the relief pounding through him.
The part of Twilight, the more wolffish part of him that longed to protect had been going haywire all week, and even now that he had Red secure on his back, it still bayed for justice.
Twilight ignored it. He was pretty sure Red’s captors were long gone, and going after them now wouldn’t be productive in any way. Even if he wanted to demand answers as to why they’d grabbed a nine year old and locked him in a room for a week.
No. Red safe and secure on his back was plenty for now, and as he firmly told himself that, the wolf began to calm.
Though he knew it wouldn’t completely settle until they were all back together and safe at home again.
Twilight turned a corner near where he and the rest of the group had split up, and Red sat up and shouted, pointing excitedly down the hall. The rest of the colors were already making their way towards them, but they all zeroed in at Red’s shout, relief on all three faces.
“RED!” Blue yelled, and all three of them bolted, Red leaping off Twilight’s back and crashing into them with a happy cry.
All four of them began chattering simultaneously, asking questions and crying and in Blue’s case, giving Red a punch on the arm that wasn’t as hard as it could have been.
Twilight smiled in relief as they huddled together, turning back into a human, and realized that the rest of the team they had brought was coming up behind them, Legend Hyrule and their mother all looking extremely relieved.
“Red— never do that again,” Green said as they hugged, and Red nodded rapidly.
“I won’t! I won’t, it wasn’t even on purpose, they just grabbed me, a-and I couldn’t get away, and nobody heard me yell,” Red said in a watery voice, and Vio gave him a soft pat on the head.
“Well you’re okay now, you don’t have to cry,” Blue grumbled, but his arm didn’t leave Red’s shoulder.
The colors didn’t talk any longer after that, only hugging a few moments more before they began to glow, unable to wait a second longer to reform. A pulse of multicolored light shone around the hallway, bouncing off the pale walls, and Twilight had to look away until it began to dim.
Four stood alone, his eyes closed as the last of the glow faded away.
Then he doubled over with his hands clenched to his head, face twisted up in pain. Twilight darted forward and caught him before he fell, and Four whimpered in his arms, eyes squeezed tightly shut.
“Four, hey, what’s wrong?” Twilight asked, trying not to panic.
Four flinched at his words, and the sound of the others running up as well, and tried to curl into a ball, still clenching at his hair.
“What’s wrong with him?” Legend asked with wide eyes.
“Four, are you okay?” Hyrule asked, and Four only let out another whimper.
“Give him some space,” Malon said, and they slid back a bit, giving her room to kneel by Four. She placed a gentle hand on his back, and rubbed it as Four let out a pitiful groan. “Four? Honey are you okay?”
Four only groaned again, and Hyrule scooted over and set a glowing hand on his head, eyes closed in concentration. But he withdrew after a moment, gaze slightly bewildered.
”His head is fine, I didn’t see anything,” he said, and Twilight frowned.
“Did they do something just to Red then?” Twilight asked, trying to keep his voice calm and only partially succeeding. “That would hurt him when he merged?”
“I don’t... think so?” Hyrule said. He sounded uncertain though, and wrung his hands a bit.
“Seriously? We would have noticed if they’d done something,” Legend shot at Twilight.
“How do you know?” Twilight answered just as sharply. “It might not be physical!”
“Well maybe he’s just—”
“Boys shh, you’re hurting him,” Malon said a bit sharply, and they went silent, another quiet whimper from Four the only noise. “Four? Can you tell us what’s wrong?”
Four dragged his eyes open, and Twilight stared, the normal blue of his eyes completely overrun by jagged swirls of red, green, and purple, blue scattered throughout. As he watched, the red got larger, and Four flinched, once again slamming his eyes shut and falling mostly limp in Twilight’s arms.
“Four, we can’t help unless we know what’s wrong,” Twilight tried, running a hand through his hair.
Please Four, can you give us something?
A few long moments ticked by, Four’s shaky breathing the only sound in the bright hallway. Finally Four breathed out, the noise hitching in the middle, and his fingers tightened in his hair.
“T-too— much,” he finally bit out, voice hitching and wavering. “M-Memories, different—”
Four pressed his head tighter against Twilight’s chest, his breathing trembling. He let out another small groan, and Twilight ran a helpless hand over his hair as he tried to curl himself up even tighter.
“Oh. I get it,” Legend said quietly, and they all looked at him inquisitively. Legend sighed. “Look, he was split all that time, right? Normally getting back together is no big deal for him, even if it’s been a little while. But his experiences as Green, Blue, and Vio this time were so vastly different from Red’s that when he reformed...”
“...all of those stark different memories got put in one head,” Malon finished, and ran a gentle hand through Four’s hair again. “Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry.”
Twilight wasn’t sure if Four even heard her, with the way he was curled up in a ball, hands still clenching at his head, face screwed shut in a wince.
“Can we help him?” Hyrule asked, and Malon looked uncertain.
“I don’t know, hon. It looks to me like he’ll just need some time to adjust,” she said, gently running her hand through Four’s hair. “Is there any way we can help, Four?”
Four didn’t say anything in reply, but he gave a tiny, pained shake of his head.
“We should get him home then, right?” Twilight spoke up, trying not to sound overly worried despite how fast his heart was still pounding. “If he just needs to adjust. He’ll be able to rest better there, and we need to get out of here anyway.”
Malon nodded, and Twilight scooped Four up into his arms, relieved his brother was fairly lightweight. Four curled into his hold, face still drawn with pain, and Twilight held him tight as they worked their way back towards the exit.
Somehow zero alarms had been triggered by their presence, and Twilight was starting to suspect the place had been abandoned what with how silent and empty it was. The fact that that meant the people who’d kidnapped Red had basically abandoned him here all alone was enough to reawaken the protectiveness in Twilight’s chest with a snarl, and this time he only half-heartedly reeled it in.
For their sakes, they had better not show their faces again anytime soon.
“Tw-i..?”
Several minutes of the trek had gone by before the whisper came from Twilight’s arms, and he looked down at Four, still limp in his hold.
“Yeah bud?”
“Thanks,” Four whispered into his shirt, and though he didn’t elaborate, Twilight knew what he meant.
“You’re welcome,” Twilight replied gently, and Four tucked his face against his neck, the pained creases on his face slightly eased.

A fic based on @kikker-oma's art :)
“Please, Legend, are you in there?” Four trembled, backing up slowly.
Legend’s eyes were missing their pupils, and instead were consumed by a bright lilac. The vet moved closer, yellow sword raised in a threatening position. Inside his head, the colours were thrown into chaos. Vio had no idea what to do, Green was trying to comfort Red who was silent and broken by the sight of the veteran attacking them. Blue was frozen with shock, anger not at the vet, but whatever was going on building inside him. “Legend?” Four tried again, and heard rocks skitter down a surface.
He looked behind him to see a cliff, and the blood drained from his face almost instantly. The veteran gained a cold and cruel grin that seemed so out of place. “LEGEND!” Four screeched, his eyes changing colours rapidly as his voice went off with each different emotion.
Tears began sliding down Four’s cheeks as Legend approached rapidly. “Please ve-“
It was a blur, but a sword ended up in his stomach and he fell backwards barely missing the cliff. Agony spread through his stomach but then disappeared as his vision was growing darker. The colours were completely silent.
So this was how they died.
______________________________________________
“We need to split up and gather supplies.” Warriors demanded.
Everyone nodded in agreement. “Who’s with who?” Legend grumbled.
Time decided to assign people partners because everybody didn’t care too much who they were with. Four ended up with Legend, and they were going to get some more firewood for later. Wild had said previously that he had run out of wood, and considering how much they burn each night, it was a task that was necessary. The captain told the veteran and the smith that if they ran into any monsters, to try to avoid them but fight if needed. Legend had rolled his eyes but nodded.
Then they walked together and chatted. Four found out that Legend had a little bit of experience in forging. “Interesting.” Vio mused.
“We’ll have to see how much he knows.” Green grinned.
Four gained the same grin on his face and the vet’s face twisted into one of confusion. “Uh…? Smithy?”
“So…let’s talk about your experience in the forge.” Four’s eyes glimmered with green and purple.
“Well—“
Suddenly the bushes beside them rustled dangerously and monsters popped out, nasty looking clubs and swords in their bony hands. “Oh not again.” Legend groaned and pulled out his sword.
Blue swung at the monsters with his ferocity, and Vio kept an eye on Four’s surroundings. Red and Green teamed up to do what they needed to do. The smith defeated enemies with ease, as did the veteran.
The battle continued.
“Watch out!” Legend called.
Vio spotted a Moblin just in the corner of Four’s vision and yelled. Blue gave a battle cry and slashed at the opponent, barely dodging the monster’s club. “Thanks vet!” Four shouted back.
Legend gave a nod and lunged at another enemy. Four readied his sword and sliced off the Moblin’s arms. Black blood splattered across the battlefield. “We should’ve known.” Blue grumbled.
“Chuchu there.” Vio informed everyone.
Four dodged as it jumped at him and then cut at the blob of blue. The battle continued like that until the dust settled and the monsters were all unmoving on the ground. Four sheathed his sword and walked over to the vet, stepping around the monsters. “Are you okay?” Four asked, eyes swirling with green and red.
“Yeah. What about you?” Legend eyed the smith.
“No injuries.” Four said, giving a small sigh afterwards.
“Good. Let’s keep going, we haven’t gotten any firewood yet.”
They walked for a bit and searched the forest for proper wood. “These are some good trees.” Four hummed and grabbed an axe from the veteran’s bag.
Soon noises of metal hitting wood filled the forest, and slight grunts. The axe was really heavy for the smithy, considering it was bigger than him. Suddenly, the ambience faded and was replaced with coughs and hacking. Four jerked around to see the veteran doubled over, clutching his throat as he coughed. “Vet?!” Four yelled, eyes flashing with all the colours.
“Fo-“ Legend tried but failed to talk as he struggled to breathe.
Something dark started spilling from Legend’s mouth, it looked like…black…blood….
“How…?” Green said, trailing off.
“What do we do?!” Blue screeched.
“I don’t know…This has never happened before…” Vio murmured.
Eventually Legend’s eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell limp into Four’s arms. Four stood there, stunned. “Black blood…Why…?” Vio mused.
Red held back tears. “We need to help him.”
“No shit sherlock.” Blue snarled.
“Calm down Blue. If we can go find the others, they might know how to help.” Green suggested.
“Good idea.”
Four hefted Legend, running as fast as he could. Blue and Green kept watch for any sign of the chain.
Four had been running for what seemed like a millennia. He had to stop to rest, his face flushed as he panted heavily. Legend stirred suddenly, and his eyes flew open. “Legend!” Four called out, relieved.
But Legend’s eyes weren’t the same they were before. They were no longer the violet hue Four knew, instead it was a very light purple. Legend leapt out of Four’s arms like nothing had happened. “Legend…you…”
The veteran stared at the smith for a hot five seconds before unsheathing his golden sword.
 “Vet?”
Legend snarled and slashed at Four, his sword barely missing him. “What the fuck?” Blue blurted out through Four.
“What’s he doing?!” Green said.
“We need to get out of here.” Vio said, voice cold.
“What? We can’t leave him!” Red protested.
“We have to. We can’t fight him, unless you want to hurt him.” Vio retorted.
Four blocked another attack and fled. Legend was fast on his trail though. “Legend what’s wrong?! What are you doing?!” Four yelled as he sprinted for his life.
The vet didn’t answer.
Eventually Four tired out.
_____________________________________________________________________________
“Alright it’s probably time to regroup.” Warriors demanded.
Sky nodded in agreement.
The two walked for a bit before they saw a blur of red and blue in the distance. “Is that…?”
Suddenly the vet was running at them. The smith however was not with him. “Legend!” Sky shouted, eyebrows furrowed.
The veteran however walked up and grabbed Sky’s sailcloth, tearing it off of the chosen’s shoulders. “Hey!” Sky yelled.
“Knock it off vet.” The captain ordered sternly.
Legend gave Warriors a blank stare, and the captain had just noticed that Legend’s eyes were missing pupils. “Give it back!” Sky barked.
“Wait, chosen, look at his eyes.” Warriors whispered.
Sky obliged and gasped. “Vet? What happened?”
Legend didn’t reply, and then grabbed an ice rod from his bag. Warriors paled. “We need to go. Now.”
“We can’t leave him!” Sky said, eyes wide.
“We must chosen—agh!”
The veteran had used his ice rod to freeze Warriors legs in place. “Legend, snap out of it!” Sky tried.
Legend’s cold and unfocused gaze landed on the skyloftian instantly. “Freaky.” Warriors muttered.
“C’mon vet, you wouldn’t hurt us!” Sky reasoned.
Legend put a hand up to his chin to think, almost in a mocking way, before letting out a laugh. The laugh was not Legend’s though. Warriors gained realization at this. “Sky, he’s being controlled!”
“…Is there a way we can help him without hurting him?” Sky asked, voice steely.
“Sealing power, or light magic of some sort could help here. I don’t have any though. You?” Warriors said.
“No…Could the others possibly have some?”
“Maybe…Wait where’s Four? Wasn’t he with Legend?”
“…Oh.”
Warriors cursed. “Okay, I’ll go find Four in case he needs help. But first…Maybe we can tie the veteran up?”
Sky looked uncomfortable at the idea but nodded. Warriors grabbed some rope from his bag and then Sky distracted Legend. The captain then tackled the veteran and bound him to a tree. The chosen took a deep breath, looking a little green and snatched the veteran’s bag, knowing the vet could escape with some of the items in there. Legend struggled against the ropes and tears suddenly rolled down his cheeks as pupils came back. “W-Wars?” Legend let out.
“Legend? Are you in there?” Warriors asked.
“S-Something’s going…on…I..can’t—“ Legend broke off, eyes returning to how they were before.
Sky looked like he could throw up. “Is it okay if I leave you here with Legend?” Warriors asked the chosen.
“Yeah.”
Warriors gave a tense nod and then took off. Eventually he reached a cliff and was met with a terrifying sight. “FOUR!”
The captain dashed to the smithy and checked his bag for fairies or potions. He pulled out an elixir. Then he took a deep breath and pulled out the sword that was impaling Four. He then quickly made the smith swallow the elixir. The wound closed up and Warriors gave a quick sigh of relief. If it had been a regular potion, it wouldn’t have worked so well. Warriors picked up the smith and started running back to Sky and Legend.
“That’s a lot of blood!” Sky yelped once Warriors had gotten there.
Warriors pulled out a bedroll and put Four there. “I can keep watch over him now. You should go find the chain, bring them here. I don’t think we can move Four any further right now.”
“Okay.” Sky obliged and left.
Warriors sighed and looked at the veteran. Legend was sitting there, eyes blank and unseeing, but the vet was still breathing. “Legend…” Warriors started.
“Captain.” Legend’s voice wasn’t his, instead it was much deeper and gravelly.
“You’re not Legend.” Warriors blurted out.
‘Legend’ chuckled darkly. “Than who am I?”
Warriors bit his lip. “Someone else.”
‘Legend’ laughed in his face. “Oh such a genius you are, captain. Do you mind enlightening me on who this someone else is?”
Warriors looked away and instead gave Four another elixir, for good measure.
“Am I irritating you? That’s too bad. It’s really fun to talk to you.” ‘Legend’ said.
Warriors bit his lip harder until he tasted blood. But he didn’t speak.
“Such a shame. Speaking of fun though, you know what’s more entertaining than talking to you?” ‘Legend’ paused. “Feeling how weak and desperate my host is. He calls out for help as he cries and hurts. That, my dear captain, is fun for me.”
Warriors glared at him, anger surging in his heart. He wanted to speak against ‘Legend’ but he wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of words. “I can see your determination. From both you and that chosen hero. Don’t waste your time and effort, he’s long gone.” ‘Legend’ scowled.
Warriors tried not to believe whatever was controlling the veteran but he grew more worried and felt a little bit of grief.
“You know, we can’t have a proper conversation if you don’t add to it.”
Warriors kept his mouth shut. If he did that in the war, then he could do it now. “But that’s fine. I’ll keep talking anyway. Say captain, I heard you were in a war.”
Warriors flinched.
“I’ve heard right then. I heard there was a woman in the war that was powerful. Her name was Cia. You know, I can summon her here or bring you to her if I wanted to. But that’s not very fun for me. I still want to use my host’s power.”
The captain shuddered.
“Oh, I’m hitting a nerve huh? My apologies.” ‘Legend’ mocked.
Warriors wanted to scream.
“I sense they’re about to be here soon. They’ll never believe I said these things to you.” ‘Legend’ said and then closed his mouth and mimed zipping it up.
Warriors hands brushed the hilt of his sword but he quickly yanked them away. “Wars!” Sky called.
“Oh thank the goddesses.” Warriors mumbled.
“Let me see.” A deep voice rumbled and the captain saw Time shove past the others and walk towards ‘Legend’.
“Vet, if you’re in there, say something nice.” Time demanded.
‘Legend’ smiled and didn’t say a word. Warriors was getting a headache.
“What do we do?” Wind asked, voice wavering.
“The captain and I agreed that light magic or sealing power would be our best bet. Does anyone have any source of light power?” Sky questioned.
Nearly everyone shook their head except Wild. “I don’t have any but Flora has a bit of her sealing power left. Only problem is we’re not in my era.”
It was silent for a moment.
Then a golden portal lit up in front of them and they were all sucked in.
______________________________________________________________________
“So Hylia decides to help us now.” Time sighed.
They landed atop a house in what Wild claimed to be Hateno Village. Legend was still tied up, thankfully. Four was lying unconscious on the roof, so Warriors slung the smith up on his shoulders. “She should be in the house.” Wild said.
Twilight gave one look at the veteran and then picked him up. “Careful.” Warriors croaked.
Time shot a concerned look at the captain. Warriors disregarded it.
The chain walked by Wild’s guide to the house and the cook swung open the door. “Purah, I told you to knock—Link?” A woman with green eyes and long blonde hair swung around.
“Zelda!” Wild gave a sigh of relief and embraced said Zelda.
“Oh thank Hylia you’re alright! Where have you been?” Flora cried out.
“It’s a long story…but before I explain I do need your help. Come on in guys.” Wild gestured to the chain.
Flora’s eyes widened. “What…?”
“Apologies for the intrusion, Flo-er Zelda. My name is Time.” Time introduced himself.
“Yeah, these are heroes from different eras in the past. But…one of them needs help.” Wild said.
“Which one? How so?” Flora asked.
“This is Legend, or the veteran. He’s being possessed, I’m sure of it.” The captain pointed shakily to said veteran.
“Let me guess, you want me to attempt at rescuing him with my sealing powers?” Flora raised her eyebrow.
“Zelda…please…He’s like…He’s like a brother to me.” Wild mumbled.
Flora softened. “If that is the case, I shall try. I will warn you, my sealing powers aren’t as strong as they were before.”
“Thank you Zelda!” Hyrule said with tears in his eyes.
Flora gave a nod and then took a deep breath. Then light sparked from her hands as she closed her eyes. It enveloped Legend, but when the light faded back into Flora’s hands, Legend smirked and nothing had changed. “What? But that should have worked!” Wind gasped.
Flora tried again, but to no avail.
The rope holding Legend back loosened and the veteran stood up. A sword appeared in hands, looking eerily similar to the one the black Lizalfos used before. “Well this is unnerving. I still sense evil in him…” Flora muttered.
“Stop!” Time barked at the vet, like that would do anything.
Legend tilted his head and walked towards the old man sword at the ready. Time blocked it but it sent him flying across the room. “Old man!” Someone shouted.
“I’m fine.” Time responded and stood up.
Legend shot a smile at the captain and suddenly aimed for the sailor who was not expecting an attack.
Wind yelped as the veteran was about to plunge the sword into him, but Wild blocked it with a shield. The shield shattered into pieces instantly. Just as Legend was about to hurt Wild, Flora cried out and shielded him with sealing power. It grew more powerful. The vet’s eyes blew wide and then he fled out the door. “No!” Sky shouted.
Twilight tried to run but Warriors stopped him. “I know what that thing wants. You going after it alone isn’t going to help anyone.”
The rancher sighed and went to stand beside his protege instead. Time looked out through the open door, eyes beginning to water against his will.
-/-
“I can defeat you.” Legend yelled at the abyss.
Dark Link stood there a smirk on his face. “Oh really? I’d like to see you try.”
Legend gave a cry and lunged at Dark Link, only to be thrown away. “I will kill your beloved brothers. The best part? It’ll be by your hands.” Dark Link snarled.
“I won’t let you!” Legend screeched and stood up again only for white hot pain to meet him in the chest.
“You’re doing quite the terrible job at defending yourself. Honestly, I could kill you right now if I wanted to.” Dark Link laughed.
Legend crumpled to the ground. “I’ve defeated worse enemies than you...” He forced out.
“Oh and I’m sooooo scared!” Dark Link jeered at him.
“Shut the fuck up.” Legend growled.
“And give me one reason why I have to listen to you.” Dark Link snorted and then left.
Legend choked out a sob and lay on the void that Dark Link trapped him in. “Damn you Dark Link.” He whispered.

Four Swords Returns Pages 451-455
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only thing that goes through my head when Dark asks "Would you like too?!"
is the fucking Lazy town meme:
"Have you ever heard the sound of a rubber ball breaking a window?" "Nuh-uh..." "WOULD YOU LIKE TOO!?"
I imagine dude's delivery would be about as manic.
Really long rant about Green and Dark's dynamic under the cut since I had a lot to say XD
Smth I just find very fun is showing off how everyone deals with Dark differently and what actually WORKS. Since so far we've mostly seen failure on actually communicating with this guy in a meaningful or productive way.
Shadow and Vaati escalated with Dark while Green's response is to deescalate and show compassion. Which is smth he chooses to do rather than it feeling obligated...which is a huge difference from Shadow already. More on that later.
Because the difference between Green and Vaati/Shadow is Green is approaching Dark not as this unstoppable entity or spooky mindless curse or purely as some evil guy hurting his team, but as a person.
An unhinged crazy manic but a person. And PEOPLE can be reasoned with...At least in theory.
The second he realized Dark wasn't what he expected (An immature, excitable person who's obviously lonely and apologizes weirdly enough vs what he thought was going to be an entity more similar to Shadow's scheming and cruelty) he shifted gears to work with this situation.
Vaati gave up on properly communicating with Dark and Shadow tries to exert too much control over the situation and gives into the smaller traps like caring what Dark calls him due to Dark's misunderstanding. "Don't call me Dad" "Don't call me Gannon" Shadow fundamentally gets distracted from the main things on the table instead trying to control Dark to his idea of what being a good guy is. And cause Dark knows a lot of it is selfish in nature he ain't up for it. (He isn't willing to apologize to Vio because he's not sorry and the lie isn't worth making himself look good to Vio or Shadow in Dark Link's idea of morality)
When Dark says concerning shit and shows his excitement in very unnerving ways, Green's response is to ask him to calm down and gently push him off him rather than being more physically violent (Even if I think everyone would understand if he DID do that considering Dark's behavior hah.) and feeding back into the loop by panicking and responding negatively verbally.
Like in a twisted way Dark and Green are working on the same wavelength. So this works into why Dark clearly has respect for Green where for Vaati and Shadow he doesn't.
Green: Is consistent. And Dark Link likes consistency.
Like Green isn't being fake around Dark at the moment. He's not being nice purely for self preservation or PURELY because he thinks it'll solve the problem. Green's motives are lining up with his actions. The dude's just nice. He doesn't want to hurt Dark Link knowing he's a person. And if you remember Shadow's motives being selfish or him lying about them is smth that deeply pissed Dark off.
I don't really have a proper conclusion to these thoughts but I'm excited to get deeper into Dark's relationship with the four Links and Link himself down the line.
It's very fun to think about.

shadow's sacrifice being ultimately selfish in nature—wanting to save the one person who was somewhat kind to him without any strings attached for the first time in his short life—is one of the best things about the whole thing tbh. like here he is coming off the ass end of vio's betrayal and being vaporized by the light of the four sword and begging ganon not to revive him because he's absolutely terrified of the light and ganon ignoring him and dragging him back into it anyway and suddenly he comes face to face with zelda, shaking and sobbing like the world's most pathetic little leaf in a hurricane, and like. the thing about zelda's words to him is that they aren't even. about shadow??? as a person??? to be honest???
she looks at him and says he can be a hero because he's a LINK. because despite her previous hostility with him she sees this warped image of her best friend come crawling out of the dark mirror all hurt and scared and "faint and twisted echo" or not...he still wears the face of her best friend. and because of that i think she IS kind of projecting her own emotions about seeing her friend's face in so much pain. i mean, hell, when the dark cloud takes her, it's LINK she calls for. when she KNOWS that shadow and link aren't the same person. but projection or not, she gave shadow the first truly kind words he ever heard in his life, even if they were less about HIS character and more about link's. so when she calls for link, he answers. and that's what drives him to take on vio's image, to aid the other links, to smash the chair into the dark mirror and kill himself to take vaati down with him.
BUT! one thing i do love is that his ACTUAL acceptance of the light came when green told him that he was one of them. one panel that drives me absolutely rabid is when shadow is still disguised as vio and green finds him and instantly starts fussing over him—asking him if he's hurt, if he's alright, telling him to lean on him, etc., and when green reaches out for his hand shadow reaches back for him with his own trembling hand for just a moment before rejecting the offer ("don't worry about me." in the fan translation/"i... i'm fine." in the viz translation) and redirecting green's attention to the fact that zelda's in danger. but when green (the second person ever to be kind to him without strings attached, even though, as with zelda, it wasn't strictly for HIM at first) looks down at him and smiles and tells him that he's one of them (that he isn't alone), THAT'S when shadow reaches towards the light and accepts it without fear, wholly and completely. THAT'S him reaching back for green's hand—when green looks at him and actually sees HIM, as his own person, and still counts him as one of them anyway, even after everything. and given that shadow is still alive once the links become link as a whole again, no matter how much i think link and shadow would grumble at and argue with each other for shadow's villain spree and vio's betrayal and whatnot, that interaction is always going to be present in their minds. it's gonna be like "congratulations douchebag! now you're stuck with me no matter what! sucks to be you!" on both their ends and zelda is very kindly not going to point out that they're both grinning like morons when they turn away from each other after butting heads for the millionth time. you see my vision

July 24, 2022
Viola was sitting out on the dock waiting for the sun to start rising, she had a hot chai in a mug in between both of her hands and her favorite very large blankets draped around her.
Viola doesn’t love waking up early but she seems to always wake up early at the lake house to watch the sunrise.
Quinn held a coffee in his hands as he walked through the dewey grass and onto the dock and walked down to his baby sister and sat down next to her.
Viola knew who sat next to her and lifted her blanket up and wrapped it around Quinn, Quinn joins her most mornings she is out here and they always like to go on a run after.
Viola rested her head on her brother’s shoulder and enjoyed the peaceful silence only hearing the ripples of the lake and chirping of the morning birds and watching as the lake look like glass from the night.
“You wanna tell me about this boy.” Quinn soflty asked his baby sister, he’s seen her over the last few months seeing how happy she is on her phone and could hear through their shared wall the many Facetime’s she has with him.
No one besides Cole noticed it but Quinn saw how happy she was when they were watching the draft when a certain player was drafted and Quinn noticed he played on her team and had the same name as the name she gave them, and Quinn knew that was the boy who’s been making his baby sister giggly again.
Viola bit her lip and nodded slightly as she knew Quinn would never tease her in a way that makes her upset, “I met him my first day when i went to get a tour and to see my doctor for the first time.” Viola cleared her throat and brushed her finger over the ring of her mug.
“I wasn’t doing great with my injuries and um he just always kept popping up and making me laugh. Felt like he was the only person who wasn’t looking at me like glass.” Viola hated how much her family, friend and coaches kept looking at her like she was going to break, she understood their worry but it was frustrating the only who didn’t was Cole and then she met Maveric and he just treated her like normal.
“Does he treat you well?” Quinn frowned hating how much she was going through this last year and how he couldn’t be there more for her but he was glad she had found someone who made her laugh on the hard days.
“Really well.” Viola smiled brightly, they aren’t even together yet and he treats her like a princess.
“Are you guys together?” Quinn smiled and wrapped an arm around his shoulder giving her a squeeze.
“No, not yet.” Viola just shrugged she wasn’t worried, Maveric has been very honest about his feelings for her and she knows he likes her but they didn’t want to start a relationship before summer especially because it’s his draft year and he’s crazy busy all summer.
“We are going on a date when i get back.” Viola blushed slightly remembering how he asked to take her out on a date the other day when they were facetiming.
“I’m happy you’re happy Vio. I’m so proud of you.” Quinn kissed the top of her head and Viola beamed back always being slightly bashful from praise.
“Thank you Quinny.” Viola mumbled back.

Four for the Pokémon AU! He has an X&Y inspired design. Gave him the hat with the feather pin that’s now a Minish Feather, and also gave him this kinda ponytail thingy that is covered by an Ezlo charm. It’s weird but I like it.
I didn’t put in all of his Pokémon because i just couldn’t make myself draw them(Swampert and Azumaril). I only recently noticed how short I made the tunic. The anatomy’s just kinda wonk, but I can’t really fix it now. I also tried a new rendering style. I don’t know how to feel about it. Anyways, Lore under the cut.
At the beginning of the Minish Cap, Link doesn’t get a starter. Instead, he gets his starter once he meets Ezlo, who suggests to get a Pokémon companion to help out, since he can’t really do much. Because at the moment, he was a hat. Link choose Mudkip because he thought it could help him get over the water easier. That did not work.
Link also transforms into an actual Minish, who are a Pokémon in the same vein that the Zora and Gorons are also Pokémon. Pokémon=species, more of less. Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-esk, but not as much as Twilight’s adventure was. Four’s adventure was more or less the exact same, and he didn’t really use Pokémon all that much, just the Pictori sword/Four sword. But he did catch a bunch of Pokémon, because he was really into collecting things back then(like how there were a bunch of figurines in the actual game).
He found a Maril near the beginning of his adventure and thought it was cute so he kept it. He specifically wanted a shiny Shedinja because no one in Castle Town had ever seen one up close. He did not that shiny after hours of hunting. So in the end, he just got a regular Nincada and named his Shedinja NotAShiny, because he was so annoyed. Link did come to love it tho, so he usually calls him Nota for short.
At the beginning of Four Swords(and let’s just combine fsa because who cares), Link became friends with an Eevee, right before the maidens got kidnapped. Stuff happened and both Link and his newfound Eevee end up at the Four Sword Sanctuary, where Link had stored the Four Sword after his first adventure. The sword had been accumulating more and more magic since Vaati’s imprisonment within it. I don’t know how the story works in LU canon, but that’s how it works here.
The 4Sword not only splits Link up into four, but Eevee as well, the sword reacting to the uniqueness of Eevee’s genes or something. Leafeon for Green, Flareon for Red, Vaporeon for Blue, and Espeon for Vio. Also because of Eevee’s wild genes, the 4Sword clings to it and its spilt eeveelutions, and can only be pulled out by the colors. I mainly came up with this because I couldn’t figure out where to put the sword on Four’s design.
Link found the Castform early on, his first shiny on this adventure(he found shinies before but he liked this one especially so he had it in his team at the moment he went through the portal). Link also found the Zygarde Core sometime during the adventure. His collecting instincts kicked in whenever he found the cells. He can make Zygarde become 100%, but he likes the Core form best.
Btw, Shadow never had any Pokémon of his own. He’d order around Pokémon provided by Ganon. He would befriend a Masquerain and would love it forever. He’d say he doesn’t but he does.
I don’t really have any ideas about LU specific stuff right now, but I can say that Four, Legend, Wind, and Hyrule are the only ones with Mega Stones. Four’s Swampert has a mega stone.

Lost at sea (Colors)
This is 2nd place in my 100 follower event for @twistedfairytalefantasy
Pairing: Colors x reader (background Four x reader)
Rating: T
Summary: When you discover that your boyfriend is able to split into four people, it's stressful for all five of you. But it's okay, you're sticking together.
Warnings: Overprotective brother,
Other: I'll come in and fix the formatting in a week or so. If I missed anything, please let me know.
-------
Today has not gone at all how anyone planned. From your brother coming in and being rude towards Four to you getting dragged into one of Wind's best to date shenanigans.
The words your brother said still circle the colors' head.
'Worthless.'
'Not even close to goof enough.'
'A two bit shill who will leave you.'
Obviously these words aren't true but they hurt. And even if they aren't true they feel true.
With Red and Green are fully convinced your brother is right, the only real option is to get to somewhere private and to split.
Blue and Vio argue vehemently the entire way back to the room that your brother is wrong. That his opinion doesn't matter as much as yours does.
That you chose them which makes them worthy of you. After all who's a better judge of what you need and want than you yourself?
The colors really weren't expecting anyone to come into the room until much later. Which is why they're in this predicament. You had found them- and understandably had a little freak out because realistically this is strange and unusual.
Hylia could only save this.
Or maybe it's not gonna be so bad?
You've always been accepting of them before.
…….
The colors had split, each of them having an issue which of course gave them a splitting headache.
The entirety of the argument they'd had with your overprotective brother spinning in their heads.
Your brother is right though, they're not good enough for you. They keep hiding the main secret they have from you.
And it's not like you could just accept this. That would be too much to ask, even from you.
You- who have always accepted them wholeheartedly… even if you don't know about the colors.
You've never hurt them on purpose. And you've always defended them- even if they didn't believe it.
Just the thought of you finding out and hating them is enough to send them spiraling.
Red and Green both sit down on the bed they had taken for themselves.
Blue and Vio sit on your bed.
All four seem displeased and the conversation has only just started.
"We have to just ignore him." Blue says, arms crossing. "(Y/n) chose us. That's more important than anything their brother said."
Green is still frowning, "But family opinions can matter a lot to people!"
"Besides… It's not like (Y/n) knows about us. They didn't actually choose us. They chose Four."
"We are Four." Blue counters evenly, "They absolutely chose us. They just don't know everything yet."
"And what about when they find out?" Vio asks, gaze narrowing, "We're not exactly normal."
"So? No one we're traveling with is."
"So you want us to just be optimistic?" Green asks, "I know (Y/n) wouldn't let our secret slip…. But it seems like a tall order to expect them to still want anything to do with us after they learn about us."
"But I think-" Red starts, only to be cut off by the door opening with the loudest creak.
Uh oh. They'd been so preoccupied they hadn't heard anyone approach. Of all the possibilities they hope it's Time or Twilight- those two are the least reactive.
Your face is the first thing they see.
Uh oh.
You slam the door shut, eyes narrowing as tears still gather in them from the previous experience.
Your brother's words about your boyfriend running your mind. You know he thinks he's helping but you wish he hadn't.
Hearing him tear into Four when the man wasn't around to defend himself upset you. And while normally you'd tell anyone who pulled that to shut up- you have a harder time with family.
You do know your brother was looking out for you in your own way. But the argument that ensued was exhausting.
You don't feel guilty though. You feel justified in setting your brother straight. He'd obviously lost his whole rocker.
You wipe your eyes quickly, setting yourself right.
Blue and Green both share a look, dreadful and resigned.
Vio watches, knowing it's too late to re-form into their original form. He chooses to have faith in you the way you deserve.
Red just sighs, shoulders slumping with the action.
You haven't seen them yet, the shared looks of panic between the colors stay unnoticed.
You finally look around, eyes blowing wide as quarters when you see four men in different colored tunics.
At first glance you thought one was Four- but these men are near identical.
"Who are you?!" You demand, hand reaching for the sword on your back.
That action alone is enough to upset them.
But then they process your words. And they're softening as they try to figure out what to do to help.
Your voice is entirely too accusing for the colors- they've never heard you so untrusting of them… But you've never seen them either have you?
"Wait!" Red calls quickly in an effort to keep you from attacking them. "It us- we're uh- Four!"
"Uh, no you aren't." Your voice is confused- but you hesitate a little.
Your hand hovers as if frozen beside the grip of your sword.
That’s reassuring at least. The colors share a look. They can work with this- at least to talk you out of fight mode.
Their voices- it still sounds like Four. And they all look impossibly like your boyfriend.
This is so weird.
Could they be telling the truth?
"(Y/n)." Green says, "This isn't how we are. wanted you to-"
"Shut up and let them think." Blue says with a glare.
Red looks thoroughly offended but when he opens his mouth to respond Green sets one hand on his shoulder. Effectively silencing him.
Vio just watches you, taking in everything you do and say. Trying to make a game plan. (Not that he knows what game you're all even playing.)
You take in the scene before you, confused and considering yelling for one of the boys. Because what in the name of Hylia and her sisters is this?
You narrow your eyes, but you can't find anything to disprove their claim…
They look remarkably like Four- the same features and hair. The same expressions you're famous with paint their faces- each of them having a separate look on their face.
Wait…
Four's sword…
The four sword-
Oh.
Nothing named like that is ever just named that.
That can't mean that-
The sword probably multiplies a person?
Maybe it splits them?
Who knows? Not you.
This is already giving you a headache.
You let out a slow sigh, trying to wrap your brain around the new ideas and information presented to you. The scene before you doing nothing to ease your brain.
"Uhm- not to be overbearing- but are you okay?" Green asks, tilting his head.
You let out a sigh, relaxing a little as you drop your hand back down.
Obviously they aren't going to attack you right now. And if they're being honest they're Four- or well versions of him.
You can't imagine Four ever hurting you on purpose.
Huh.
Well then. You're probably safe aren't you?
You can relax then.
"I'm fine. This is- a lot." You say, trying not to let your own confused panic flood your voice.
"We're sure." Vio says, his own gaze stuck to you. He can tell you aren't handling this as well as you want them to think.
"So… You're all Four?"
"Parts of him." Red explains with a shrug, "We're all one of his major parts."
You nod along, trying not to let your expression give away your unsure panic.
"Oh… well it's nice to meet you?"
"We already know you." Blue says sharply something almighty about it. Well- maybe not almighty- more cocky. Yeah, that's the word.
It's endearing almost- Four always seems so calm and gentle. It's nice to see a version of him proud.
It's well deserved after all. Being a Chosen Hero, a blacksmith, this latest adventure? More than deserved.
"Well I haven't met you. Have I?"
"No. You haven't." Vio says, his tone anything but revealing.
"I'm Green! The Cranky one is blue!"
"Oh- that makes sense."
"I'm Red!"
"Hi. Does that make you Purple?" You ask, eyes falling to Vio.
"No. I'm Vio."
"Oh- that's short for Violet then? Pretty."
"Violence." Blue pipes up helpfully.
"Oh. Huh. That's- something else." You say, unsure what you're expected to say or do in response to any of this.
Like seriously. What in the name of the stars are you supposed to do?
One good outcome is this gives you a whole new thing to focus on than anything your brother said.
And this- well you're invested in where this goes.
"If it would help we can re-fuse?" Green suggests.
"No. It's fine- I just really wasn't expecting this today."
"Or probably ever." Vio says with little more than a glance your way.
"I can't say I did."
"Who would? Freaked us pretty good too." Green smiles, "Are you sure you don't want us to-"
"No. It's fine. I promise. I'd really love to get to know each of you."
"Ooooh come sit with me!" Red grins as he seems to bounce in place on the bed.
You look at Red, and feel guilty even as you hesitate.
Is it rude to sit with one of them over the other?
That's something to figure out later.
"He doesn't bite." Vio says with a tilt of his head.
"I do." Blue says with crossed arms.
"Please don't bite me?" You say the phrase more of a question than a statement.
"I won't bite you. You're ours." Blue says, sounding as if this should be totally obvious.
"Okay. Thanks… I think."
You walk from where you've been standing just inside the room to sit between Green and Red.
Red sets his head against your arm happily, smiling up at you.
"You're so pretty, (Y/n)." Red says with a giddy look.
Green just laughs.
"You're reacting better than we expected." Vio says from the opposite bed.
"Thanks. What did you think I was going to do?"
"Scream and run?" Green suggests.
"Hate us." Blue says with a straight face.
"Why would I ever hate you? You're all parts of Four, aren't you?"
"We are." Vio says with a sigh. "But this isn't exactly something people support."
"Then they're just dumb." You say with your arms crossed, "Though I would have hoped you knew me better than thinking I could hate you."
The look you toss around at your boys is chiding enough without anything else.
Your boys?
Makes sense.
"(Y/n)," Green says, "Look around you. You're dating four people."
"So? If I understand right I've been dating you for this whole time."
"Well-" Blue starts, only to fall short.
What does he even say in response?
"Exactly."
"I told you they would be supportive." Vio says as he gives the other three a knowing smirk.
"We were just worried." Green says, "What else would we expect?"
"I don't know." You say, eyes looking around your boys again.
You take to the new information better than anyone else could have ever expected.
You decide within an hour that you should take the colors on solo dates when possible too.
After all, you're dating all four of them.
You want to act like it!
"I still don't think we can all sleep in one bed." Vio says firmly.
"We can if you let us try!" Red insists, borderline jumping.
"Or we could sleep on the floor." You offer from beside Blue.
All four men's heads turn to you, any arguments forgotten as they once again are reminded how wonderful you are.
"You're so smart." Red says as he looks absolutely smitten. He might as well have actual heart eyes.
"Of course they are." Blue shakes his head.
You can feel your face flushing a little, worries and issues of earlier already gone for now. "Thank you."
"Let's get the floor set up then. I still have bruises from yesterday's fiasco." Green adds as he starts clearing the middle of the floor.
"Don't remind me." Vio groans, moving to help Green.
You just wince in sympathy, trying not to remember the mess that was yesterday's ambush.
You and the colors disassemble the bedding and use extra blankets to build a sleep area that you should all actually fit into.
It's after you get everything set up that you feel at peace fully. The moonlight streaming in from the window the wall boasts.
Laying in the middle with two of your boys on either side.
Red and Blue both fall asleep quickly, their faces endearingly peaceful.
"I tried telling them you'd accept us." Vio says from his spot at your left.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Because having four people that make up your boyfriend is weird." Green says from behind Vio.
"It's not what I expected. But I'm not going to just ditch you guys over something I didn't expect."
"Thank you. That means- a lot." Green says softer, sounding soft and fragile.
"Of course. Besides, if I was gonna ditch you guys for anything it would be for being out of my league."
"You, my dear, are a sap." Vio says as he sets one hand on your shoulder.
"Thank you for noticing."
"Hard not to notice. " Green smiles soft as you've ever seen.
"That's what I'm usually going for. I can't have you thinking I care less about you than I do."
Green looks like he's falling in love with you all over again. His smile is all too smitten and you swear to Hylia that his pupils are turning into actual hearts.
Vio just squeezes your shoulder fondly. His own face betrays his love for you.
You drift to sleep, all five of you assured that you're safe and happy together. That everyone in the room trusts each other.
Each of the colors knows in their heart that you- (Y/n) (L/n) choose to stay with them even after finding out everything.
…….
You wake up the following morning to all four of your boyfriends in a dog pile of sorts atop you.
Vio is clinging to you on one side while Green is sideways across your legs.
Blue has set his head on your chest.
And to top it all of Red has his arms wrapped around your stomach, his head resting atop it.
Well, as cold as last night was, you didn't feel it.
You smile softly, reaching up to stretch your arms as you admire the way they all look in their sleep.
You'll do your best to make sure they all know individually and together how much you love them.
And you can't wait to get to know them better.
Especially not when you find yourself playing twenty questions with them as the day goes on outside without any of you. The laughter and smiles you get are all worth their weight in golf and then some.

These were really fun to do, and I haven't drawn any Four Swords stuff besides things for FSRA in a while!
That being said, these designs have nothing to do with FSRA, and FSRA designs will be much closer to canon (they're posted on the blog!)
Headcanons under the cut!
Green:
- Agender and gay!
- Gave him the Roc's Feather and Pegasus Boots. His boomerang is in his bag
- Strawberry blond as a mutation from the split
- Thinner frame to reflect the wind element
Red:
- Bigender and bisexual
- I couldn't really find anywhere to put the Fire and Ice rods on his design, or the slingshot but they are all on her at all times
- Redder hair as a mutation from the split
- Strongfat! He's both physically strong and magically strong
Blue:
- Transfem and bisexual
- I gave her bombs. I'm sure she will be very responsible with those
- Lighter hair as a mutation from the split
- A little bit chubby but not really. She's more average
Vio(let):
- Transfem, aroace spec, and lesbian!
- They have a quake medallion that they're saving for the right time. I also gave her a shovel but I didn't draw it here. It's in their inventory somewhere
- Albino as a mutation from the split. This affects their eyesight, but they rarely wear their glasses.
- Made her fat as a reflection of the earth element
All of them have some kind of embroidery on them, done by Zelda after their adventure!

made a vidow carnivore shadow short!
also go look at it!! amazing art by @space-puppeteer its so good!
(post manga shadow lives situation)
The others were honestly a little terrified the first time they came home to Vio with his hand in Shadow’s mouth. They had been taking advantage of the quiet space. Since his initial curiosity he hadn’t had much time to delve deeper into Shadow’s unique intricacies.
It only made sense. He required a different diet than them after all. Why not learn the most he can? Vio was charting how many, where, and how sharp his mouth of canines were. Shadow was sitting patiently, mouth wide and frozen solid as the rest of Link stood there mortified.
Vio hadn’t noticed them until Red started crying about Shadow eating him.
Boy, that was a fun conversation.
Shadow focused back on Vio as he snapped  back swiftly with a hiss. He’d nicked himself on one of the more dangerous teeth. Despite it really not being his fault, Shadow found himself apologizing.
“Sorry…” he held out his clawed hand to ask for Vio’s. He took it and gently rolled it over. He inspected it closely. Just a small cut on his finger, clean like a fresh knife. He made eye contact and kissed the spot softly pressing his tongue to it for a second. “You ok?”
Vio’s cheeks flushed from the unexpected intimate gesture. It shook him out of his hyperfocus. “Ah-” he cleared his throat. “Ahem. yeahh thanks. I’m okay,”
Shadow gave him his hand back.
“Do you…” He rolled over how to ask, “Have you… hunted for animals? with these?” Vio held Shadow’s hand this time, admiring the painted nails.
He laughed, “Hahaha, what, like a wolfos?” he could see it, funny as that was. “Not here I haven’t. There was always enough from the hinox and other creatures under us.” he waved his unoccupied hand dismissively. “There are markets, you know.” He subconsciously licked his teeth at the thought. “I have to be a wolfos for Halloween now.”
“Hm.” Vio stopped his inspection, interlacing their fingers instead. “Do you think maybe that accounts for your occasional over aggression and bloodlust?”
“You’re always so blunt.” he snorted, but not offended. “I dunno. Maybe? Are you suggesting I go serial killer on the local wildlife?”
“Haha, no no. I’m just thinking out loud. We should make a trip in town soon though,” Though, they might end up hunting anyway, lest they sell out the butcher. He got lost in thought about it again, mumbling. Did he need to sharpen either, like a cat? What type he liked better, how cooked, would he eat a cow?
“A cow??” oops he said that out loud. Shadow laughed really hard. “hahahaha what? like, just bite it??” His big grin showed off the sharp set. “If you bet me to, I would.”
Vio shook his head, amused. “No…well…maybe. The others would be upset.”
“Nerd.” Shadow leaned in and pecked his cheek.

My vote for Four Swords Fright Fight week 4, Evil Root Beer vs Pumpkin Spice Latte
Just a short, fluffy fic! Can be read either on Ao3 or under the cut here.
Shadow dropped down to sit on the hay bale next to Vio, wheezing breathlessly with laughter. Across from them, a scowling Blue was still picking pieces of straw and corn husk out of his hair.
"The purpose of a corn maze is to solve the maze," he grumbled. "Not to magic up monster illusions to chase people with."
"My way's more fun," Shadow replied, unrepentant.
"You can't really argue it's outside of Harvest Festival tradition," Vio pointed out, inclining his head toward a group of children who were running past, their faces hidden behind snarling masks.
"We probably wouldn't have gotten out if you hadn't busted a hole in the wall anyway," said Red, plucking a piece of straw from the back of Blue's tunic for him. "Given our track record with navigation..."
"Ugh, don't remind me."
Shadow was still snickering when Green and Zelda returned to the group with drinks. He accepted the cup Zelda handed to him and raised it to his lips — expecting, perhaps, more of the apple cider they'd drunk earlier in the day. Instead, he only had a moment to process the cold fizz of carbonation before he was dumped head-first into a memory.
Sugar and bubbles bursting on his tongue; something that felt very similar singing through his chest. The smell of fire, of volcanic ash. The sound of partying Hinoxes, loud but distant, muffled. A balcony, a horizon, a starry sky, and Vio—
"This is evil root beer," he realized aloud.
"'Evil' root beer?" Zelda repeated, eyebrow raised.
"We drank this at the Fire Temple," Shadow clarified.
"Oh, you mean the contents of the Hyrule Castle cellars, which you stole." Zelda's voice could have rivaled the Gerudo Desert for dryness, but there was a spark of amusement in her eyes.
"There's nothing especially evil about it," Green said, looking down into his own cup dubiously. "It's just root beer."
"Well, it was stolen," Vio said with a shrug, taking a sip of his own drink.
"In that case I guess this isn't evil root beer," said Red. "Because we didn't steal these."
Shadow eyed the others' cups speculatively. Zelda leaned away from him and Blue gave him a 'don't even think about it' look, but Shadow just shrugged, reached over, and snatched Vio's cup right out of his hands. Vio didn't so much as blink before reaching back to steal Shadow's original cup.
"There," Shadow said, voice echoing into the cup as he raised it to take a drink. "Now it's evil root beer."
There was laughing, and eye rolling, and a couple fake grossed-out faces. Then Red set about making a fire, and Green pulled out a bag of some squishy white sweets that were apparently meant to be speared on sticks and burned before eating.
Shadow leaned back against Vio's shoulder, surrounded by warm, friendly chatter and savoring the sugary bite of carbonation.

Happy Birthday Four~
Red tackled Vio one specific day, grinning. "What?" Vio yelped, and dropped his book on the floor.
"It's our birthday! It's our birthday!" Red cheered, bouncing up and down happily.
Vio took a few moments to register what the red link had said before his face relaxed and he gave a small smile. "We'll have to have a party then." He leaned down and picked up his book, looked at it and then gently put it back on a shelf.
Red gasped excitedly. "I'll go tell everyone!"
Vio nodded and then pulled out a book. The title was gold and glimmered in the violet link's hands. It read 'Hylian Birthday Parties and What You Need To Know About Them.'
Red galloped away while Vio slowly sat down and began to take in some of the book's information.
----
"BLUE!"
"WHAT?!" Blue jerked around, a scowl on his face.
He saw Red and softened. "What?" He repeated, his tone a little softer this time.
"It's our birthday! Vio said we get to have a party!" Red threw his hand around Blue's shoulder.
Blue's eyes flickered with surprise. "Really?"
"Yeah! I'm gonna go tell Green now!" Red dashed away in the blink of an eye,
Blue blinked rapidly for a few seconds before a smile crept to his mouth. 'Vio doesn't know what I have up my sleeve.' He thought and started preparing.
___________
Green felt a hand on his shoulder and jumped out of his skin. "Wha..?" He turned around and saw Red standing there with a stupidly wide grin on his face.
Green exchanged a grin in return. "Hey bud, what's up?"
"It's our birthday! Vio said we could have a party! I already told Blue." Red talked so fast it took Green a minute to understand what he was saying.
"You told me last?" Green gasped dramatically.
Red looked sheepish. "Yeah...Should I tell the chain?"
Green acted offended but then answered his question. "I think so. Wind would never forgive us if we didn't tell."
Red giggled and ran off. Green sighed fondly and then went to go see what the violet link was planning.
--------
Red went around the inn and told everyone the plan excitedly. Warriors had ruffled his hair and said "Aw yeah!"
Time had chuckled. "I'm looking forward to it."
Wind had gasped and hugged Red. "Happy Birthday!!!"
Hyrule had stood there for a few seconds before tilting his head a little confused. "What's a birth..day?"
Red had given him a bewildered look before explaining what it meant then Hyrule had shrugged and nodded at least understanding there was a party.
Wild had given him a high-five and promised to make an amazing cake.
Twilight had given him a pat on the head and then grinned wolfishly. "I'll definitely be there."
Legend had teased that there was no such thing as a birthday but Red had given him a pouty look so the veteran agreed to be there.
Sky had also ruffled Red's hair and then gave him a warm smile and then swore on his pinky finger that he would be there.
___________________
Red opened Vio's door to see him and Green chatting amicably and flipping through books. "Hey guys, whatcha doing?"
Vio jumped a little and Green patted the ground in a gesture for Red to come sit. Red obliged and waited patiently for a response. "We're going to hold it at a building somewhere next to the inn." Green started.
Red listened enthusiastically as Green and Vio took turns explaining plans and adding more. In the middle of talking about what to wear, Blue burst in with a competitive grin on his face. He held up a long list that reached to the floor, it had neat handwriting scribbled on it. Green opened his mouth to say something but Blue was faster. "I've got the perfect party planned!" He said breathily.
Once again Green started, but Red didn't notice and interrupted. "How is the list that long?!"
"A master never tells his secrets." Blue huffed.
Vio gritted his teeth. "A master always tells his secrets, you mean. So he can teach his protege."
Blue flushed a little and then turned tomato red. "Vio!"
Vio sighed and crossed his arms. "At least use the expression correctly."
Blue tackled Vio to the ground. Green rolled his eyes and went to intervene. "Why don't you pick a few things that you want from that list and then we'll try to add it to our list?" Red suggested.
Blue paused then mumbled an "Oh."
"Good idea Red." Green praised as Vio rubbed his head and Blue began crossing things out on his list.
Eventually things settled and everything was properly planned and everyone agreed. "Teamwork!" Red cheered and high-fived the group.
"Now let's-"
"Take a break and let us do the rest." A voice called from outside the door.
The door flew open and each one of the chain appeared. Vio and Green exchanged a look, silently talking to each other while Blue grumbled something under his breath. "You've done enough, it's your birthday so you should spend the rest having fun." Warriors demanded.
Twilight yanked the books out of Vio's grasp and put them in a bag. "Hey!" Vio hissed.
Time grabbed the list carefully out of Blue's hands before the blue link realized what was going on. Sky also grabbed Green's list and then left with most of the others leaving Wind there. "Damn.." Green muttered.
"I don't know about you but I'm bored right now." Wind gave a exaggerated yawn.
"Let's go!" Red gestured to all of the links and then they went outside the inn.
"I heard there's a shop that sells cursed things, and I'm not s'pposed to go there but..." Wind's eyes glinted with mischief.
Vio looked interested, so did Blue and Green but probably for different reasons. Red wanted to go and see if there was any fire based weapons there. "Let's go!"
Wind cheered and grabbed Red's hand before leading them to a shop.
