It's been a long year and it's only February…

Well, it's time to put this out there: I've had a fairly shitty few years (like, haven't we all, obviously), but it's included a long, expensive legal battle against unscrupulous cysts, which is finally concluded satisfactorily save being left somewhat skint on the other side of it. Doesn’t help that said battle meant that I had to move house - not exactly a low activity on the expense and stress scales…

So I'm looking for extra work, to help while we wait for the Luxury Space Communism to kick in (I'd settle for Universal Basic Income or an end to the Housing and Cost of Living Crisis, tbh).

Things I do to a professional standard include:

Creative Mentoring and Tutoring (writing and performance techniques, especially for poetry - bespoke or standard workshops available for groups as well as one-to-one).

Project Management (feeling overwhelmed by a project you want to get off the ground and/ or run within budget and timescale? I can help with that).

Business Change Management (you need to expand or shift your business focus? I can help that happen in a well-managed fashion).

Performance Poetry (got a bunch of poems, 18 years' experience delivering them live, and a nice voice).

Writing to Commission (especially poetry, but I write both fictive prose and essays too).

Voice Acting and Narration (I've acted in audio dramas and narrated short stories, training videos, and so far one documentary).

Book and Pamphlet Production (I operate a small press).

Basic website setup and maintenance.

Prayer request time: The last time I did cash in the morning at work, I messed it up really really badly. The manager had to call someone in on a day off to run the store so he could fix it.

Today, I'm doing cash again. And on the one hand, I'm super grateful that I'm 1) Not fired, 2) Not pulled from doing cash, and 3) Getting to do cash again so soon (there was only one week "off" of cash, and it was the week after Christmas).

On the other hand, I'm nervous, and I didn't sleep well because of that, so I'm nervous AND tired. And have to do cash in just over an hour.

Prayers would be appreciated.

#tgcf #ling wen #random tgcf thoughts #I am still mad about that one change in the revision #was it a censorship thing? lw can’t get away with everything in the end if she murdered someone?#everything else about the backstory is great but I refuse to acknowledge this part #how I would do it is have her actively plot against jw #she knows xuli’s downfall is coming no matter what so she decides to speed it up #after BJ refuses to withdraw for her she finds some conflict to keep him busy #and makes arrangements for other kingdoms to start invading - BJ can’t be everywhere after all #and then in the confusion actively starts burning JW’s temples #(possibly pm helps here)#(or for more fun it’s swd who borrows PM’s men and makes him complicit)#while lw stays in heaven and waits for jw to weaken enough so she could kill him #(but he manages to survive like in the og novel)#i like the idea of lw trying to keep bj safe at first but then settles for just having him elsewhere #but the general feng conflict happens anyway #and her temple burners spiral out of control #and target her own temple as well - but BJ protects it #also picturing a scene where lw warns swd about pm (who he’s kinda friendly with)#pm is a xuli man and owes jw some favors #so if swd starts an open conflict with jw he should expect PM’s help #*shouldnt #(lw is wrong about this - pm wouldn’t help jw and would prefer to stay out entirely)#(but he also doesn’t actually like jw)#(the favor jw did for him? help clear his name after the failed rebellion)#(pm never asked for that and it caused the beautiful tale to spread)#(however I do also see pm in a sort of lxc-style peacemaker role for lw swd and jw)

i feel like my headaches have been getting worse :/

#idk if its living a city or just routine changes or WHAT but i do not enjoy this at all #in this one i think it's like cascading from being sick last week to the food poisoning to the migraine and this one is just. idk.#being bad.#Could be weather I don't KNOW but like usually I'm like these are. Fine. Manageable with the tools I have #But honestly if they don't go back to their previous level. I think if this seasons work is as busy as I think it might be #I could struggle and need to deal with them. More seriously #like my current level of avoiding stuff due to trying to avoid headaches i find. Pretty doable #Idk the last few days have been. A challenge. And it's like. I guess really only starting to sink in that.#I probably am going to be dealing with these stupid things for the REST OF MY LIFE like they aren't just going to go away. ....#oh caveat also for fucked up sleep the last couple nights

ya girl just hit her 2024 reading goal.... and it's only february 😂😂😂😂 looks like i DEFINITELY have some reconsidering to do

#listen #last year my goal was to read one book a month so twelve books and i did NOT meet that goal #i just got busy and didnt have time or energy to read as much as i wanted to #so this year i was like u know what im gonna actually DO THAT this year #so based on past data lol i set the same goal!!#and its now halfway through february and ive already read 12 books fjdksksk #so i have MORE THAN made up for last years failure #time to reconsider the goal #i thiiiiiink im gonna change it to 52 #one book a week instead of one book a month sounds manageable #and there have been several books ive read in 2 days and several that will surely take me longer than a week so i think it will even out #it sounds reasonable to me #so yeah 12/52 roughly 23% through lol #making good progress!!!

State legalization bill passed!!!!! We are good to grow!

After months of planning and waiting, I finally ordered my very first seeds aaahhh yaaaayy!!! MANGO KUSH!!! I kinda wanted to try Tropicana Cookies, which sounds amazing for ADHD, but I figured that might be too hard to grow (and consume, it's pretty strong) so I went with my gut. Never met a mango I didn't like, and this is a good hybrid strain with great medical uses.

These won't be auto-flower, since the seed bank I had a coupon for doesn't have an auto version, but for a photo-period, Mango Kush is supposed to be easy to grow even for first-timers.

Can't wait to nurture my lovely magical girls to full flower 😍

i got like three different compliments from people today on my customer service and im not gonna lie I greatly enjoy feeling like im winning at Restaurant Host

#two from guests one from newly promoted manager #i find it kinda funny when I get props from people for squeezing their reservation in or changing it without complaint or just doing #whatever in order to get them seated/reserved/etc despite whatever circumstances come up just cause like #it comes off as caring customer service which isn’t totally Wrong or anything #but I’m not trying to go above and beyond or anything at all generally. in my brain its just like.#restaraunt tetris. autistic little game in my head where I try to make everyone fit into a floorplan and update things accordingly and take #on new problems to solve and so on #I wish it was busier more often so I could actually Do this more often and like. use my autistic powers like this #cause when it’s not busy I’ve Hardly got anything to do on this front and I either get painfully bored or start stealing other peoples jobs #im. half joking there #anyway excited for thanksgiving cause in addition to 1.5x holiday pay we also hav fucking 90 people booked in the span of three hours #which will be chaotic as hell but hehehehehehe NO BOREDOM FOR ME #now THAT’s restaraunt tetris. // Hello! Merry Christmas, and happy holidays!

As is custom, most of my time is currently spread thin between studying exams and spending time with family. Since I still intend to return to activity, I want to give a little headsup of what the plan is:

As I've said before, I want to make a new sideblog for Cayin's Elden Ring verse so that I can more comfortably explore its themes, interactions and aesthetics without it diluting the things I've been doing with his main verse. I think this may help kick things off in terms of returning to activity, and let people pick whichever setting they're most interested in.

Thing is, I've been going back and forth with the theme among other small details. My attention has also been horrendous, and while it's been getting better and I'm making progress in returning to my hobbies, it's still going more slowly than I'd like. I've been torn between making a quick placeholder for the blog (so that I can start things off without having to wait for these creative obstacles to be gone) or taking my time to ensure that this theme fits my ideas for the blog.

Since studies and family remain my focus, but I don't want to keep postponing this indefinitely, I'm going to wait at least until the Winter break is over, and potentially until the first batch of exams is done (so roughly until the middle of January) to make the blog. Whether it's a placeholder or something finished.

I may still do a thing or two here before then, depending on what my spare time allows. I've missed being around on this blog. Take care everyone, and as always, feel free to message me if you'd like to plot or simply chat.
