I enjoy the idea of little a-yuan calling Yiling Patriarch Wei Wuxian mommy because of this specific scene i picture:
A-yuan, lost in a crowd:*crying* mommy!
A cultivator passing by: oh are you lost? Let me help you find your mother, what does she look like?
Wei Wuxian emerging from the crowd, in all his tall, intimidating, masculine man glory: oh a-yuan there you are! Mommys here don’t worry
The cultivator, who saw Wei Wuxian fight in the war and heard all the story’s and rumors about him: …
You’d think there would be tons of rumors after that but the cultivator knows that if they told anyone the fearsome Yiling Patriarch, who killed 5,000 wen cultivars single handed in the war and is now considered to be the new #1 threat to public, is called mommy by his child (where did he even get a child?!?) he would never be believed

Paper Dolls and Butterflies by EHyde
Paper Dolls and Butterflies
by EHyde (@ehyde)
G, <1k, Wei Wuxian & Wen Yuan
Summary: While Wei Wuxian is testing a spell, A-Yuan finds a silly paper doll to play with.
Kay's comments: Just a cute little story that offers some slice-of-life content for the time Wei Wuxian was living in the Burial Mounds with the Wens. The focus is on his relationship with A-Yuan and the story is from A-Yuan's POV as well and it's just very cute, no angst just fluff. If you ignore that A-Yuan is stumbling over bones while playing.
Excerpt: “Chasing butterflies?” Qing-gugu asks.
“No!” The paper doll isn't a butterfly. “Oh!” he realizes. “I bet it wants to play with A-Yuan's butterflies!”
The paper doll circles around Qing-gugu's head and hovers in front of her face. “Wei Wuxian,” she says.
“Xian-gege is, Xian-gege's asleep!”
“Asleep, hm?”
“Really asleep! I jumped and jumped on top of him and he didn't wake up!” The paper doll nods in agreement, and Qing-gugu laughs. Laughing is right! Jumping on Xian-gege is really fun!
pov lan sizhui, slice of life, burial mounds ensemble as family, burial mounds settlement days, fluff, parent-child relationship, families of choice, good parent wei wuxian

Analysis of large numbers of ivory rings discovered in Anglo-Saxon burials has revealed that the ivory was sourced from African elephants. These must have been some important folk, obtaining goods all the way from Aksum!

Oh where, oh where did my Wen Ning go?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
He's loyal and lethal,
He's my ghost general,
A fierce corpse is he.
-Wei Ying after misplacing Wen Ning in the Yiling market.
