so. do you think the port mafia rules are pasted on a poster on the door to mori’s office in comedically small comic sans

if you can’t read them (and honestly i’d be more surprised if you could):

1. be a decent member of our organization and whatnot

2. you can no longer just leave out of nowhere, especially not if you're a person in power. thanks dazai

3. you can no longer buy your way into being an executive. thanks ace

4. if your name is dazai osamu you are to stay outside of a 100 mile radius around the building (rule suggested and enforced by nakahara chuuya)

5. as long as you are in this organization you will ALWAYS pour the milk in before the cereal

6. failure to comply to the rule above results in the death penalty

7. don't ask mori about elise. just don't (rule suggested and enforced by ozaki kouyou)

8. don't go in the basement

9. don't ask WHY you can't go in the basement

10. you can't go in the basement because verlaine is down there. this is self-explanatory enough

11. steal something from the person who got you into the organization or whatever. if you joined on your own, no you didn't

12. do not question nakahara chuuya about his past affiliations with dazai, he WILL bark at you like a chihuahua for the rest of the week

13. the popcorn machine is always broken (thanks to chuuya), don't bother trying to fix it. trust me, we've tried, that was some good crusty popcorn man

14. refrain from using personal playlists as background ambience during executive meetings (especially those containing the song "it's not like i like you" by static-p. we don’t talk about why this is a rule)

So yes, this is a blog based on a bsd cyberpunk au that I made and have told no one about. Mainly I just wanna explore it more.

But than I remembered how Ace had an small army of sacrifices and had a mental break down playing high card low card.

I've been re-reading the manga, and I have some thoughts on Fyodor's ability and what's happening with sigma.

Cw: season 5 spoilers, mentions of death and suicide.

I've seen people theorising that Fyodor can't use his ability on other ability-users, but I thought maybe the way he killed Ace and how he tried to kill Sigma was still a way of demonstrating his ability.

First of all, we see that Ace puts collars on his men that can't be removed, and eventually Fyodor manipulates Ace into hanging himself. I thought it was interesting that Ace's death involved something around his neck.

During the DOA arc, we find out that Sigma stabbed Taneda and used his ability on him. Then, in season 5, Sigma is stabbed by Fyodor and then uses information exchange on him. We find out that Taneda is in a coma, but isn't dead because he was found by Ranpo. Fyodor says that he doesn't think Sigma will wake up, but he also thought that Dazai was dead, so Sigma may just be in a coma for a while.

Anyway, I ended up at the conclusion that Fyodor's ability is supposed to represent karma (the first character he used his ability on was called Karma), like a punishment for his victim's crimes.

I don't really know how the cat lady fits into this, but after the last episode of season 5, I doubt she's actually dead.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense or someone has said this before, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

A/N; Just a quick drabble. This is NOT. me making fun/joking about mental illnesses/addictions this is me putting uncanon headcanons on BSD chracters, if you're disturbed by this, block me or scroll!

Pyromaniac!Chuuya Nakahara - Chuuya isn't the one to let most of the intrusive thoughts of setting things on fire but sometimes they get the better of him but it doesn't cause mass destruction. (The habbit is worse during corruption and the habbit most likely started from said corruption.)

W33dAddiction!Edgar Allan Poe - He smokes constantly while writing his mystery novels. It started the time when Ranpo escaped the book he was working on for years straight, the smokes to relieve and built up stress.

Stalker!Akutugawa Ryūnosuke - he isn't one of those creepy stalkers that breaks into your house just to steal clothing or taking things you threw away, he's more tame. Taking secret photos of you when he sees you etc. (Specifically taking them with piliroid cameras)

Cannibal!Nikolai Gogol - He definitely eats human remains in front of you but he never dares to cross your boundaries of what you're not comfortable. He sometimes asks what would happen if he tried to eat you but it was always just for laughs. The only thing that would come close to "eating" would be the soft bites and nibbles he'd put on your body.

Priest!Fyodor Dostoevsky - Priest never go against their Gods words even if it was desire. No matter how many times you would confess your undeniable love for him and all the sick twisted fantasies you had of him in the confession booth, he couldn't recuperate the feelings since he was the priest of the church but he knew he couldn't deny any feeling he did have for you.

Obsessive!Dazai Osamu - Hes WAY manipulative when it comes to things like you venting your feelings. If you were ever upset with someone he'd manipulate you into thinking you only ever needed him and nobody else that was how his charm worked. Hold you close and never let go, cherishing you every second of the day to make you only want him.

ManicDepression!Sigma - He could be stressed out and yelling to a soft and cuddly guy but it depends on how severe things get. Things get hectic in the sky casino, Sigma's drastic mood swings not helping as he can go to yelling at someone before apologizing for his actions on how he will never do it again.

Psychopathic!Jono Saigiku - Jono isn't one of those violent or aggressive pshycopaths but he can tend to be very manipulative. When it comes to being empathetic, he doesn't understand too much about one's feelings but he is good at brushing them off even if said person is begging for help(advice/support).

Schizophrenic!Ace - He's quite literally delusional (going back to the scene were fyodor manipulated him into offing himself) His thoughts can get jumbled and disorganized when most likely proved wrong. His mental state would most likely deteriorating and breaking into fragments (a sense of mental fragmentation)

Anorexia nervosa/ED!Lovecraft - I'm not saying out of all EDS he had anorexia but it's possible. He's more self-conscious of the way his body looks and he probably just sleeps to much and forgets to eat.

Insomniac!Katai - He definitely stays up all night snuggled in that comforter of his constantly browsing the internet. But not only just staying up, he definitely has multiple sleep paralysis demons that haunt him when he tries sleeping.

Narcissistic!Ivan - He absolutely NEEDS. to be seen and admired (specifically from fyodor) He's self-centered and obsessed over self-importance. He doesn't seem to care for anyone but himself (and fyodor cause that's canon.)

OCD!Kunikida - He's absolutely obsessed with his ideals and being organized. If something in his schedule goes a miss or someone cancels on him he has to fix EVERYTHING. In his head he has to have the perfect schedule or the entire day will be fucking over and he wont know what to do in the next following hours.

I couldn't stop thinking about this 😂. Feel free to ignore, respond, or turn into BSD meta, but I had to rant about this to someone:

So, everyone talks about the Dazai/Fyodor parallels, but have you ever thought about the parallels with Dazai and Ace? They're actually really interesting?

Basic similarities: both were PM executives, used and manipulated by Mori. Both ended up turning on him. And, both engaged in gambles with Fyodor. But then you start to see the divergence (I hope I can articulate this well).

First, in the distrust:

They both push people away for different reasons Ace doesn't attach himself to anyone because he's protecting himself from bodily harm. He doesn't believe in loyalty. Just self-preservation. Meanwhile, Dazai avoids making connections to protect his heart from harm. Dark era!Dazai went through the Oda thing, saw what happened to Ango-a guy who let himself get attached just once and suffered for it-sees that and went, “yeah nope, it’s not worth it.” His lack of loyalty stems from wanting protect himself from pain.

Then, the dog thing:

Dazai only talks about making Chuuya his dog, but ends up humanizing and empowering him instead. Whereas Ace actually does make people his dogs-treats them like animals, even gives them collars to wear; he renders their humanity into monetary objects.

And the s*uicide parallels:

Ace's story ends with him apparently committing s*icide. He took the worst parts of Mori's leadership (using fear and intimidation to foist loyalty onto his subordinates) without ever bothering getting to know them as people. In the end, he loses the battle of wits and dies alone, having fallen to his hubris.

Dazai lets himself get attached, and yeah, he gets hurt. But in the end he becomes more human for it and finds himself surrounded by people. He keeps winning the high-stakes games because he believes in people and makes some attempt to understand them. And yeah, he talks about s*icide constantly...but funny how he still chooses to live.

You know, this is not a parallel I ever would've drawn myself but I really like what you've laid out here op. Hey people should read this!

Isn't it so cool you can take literally any two characters from this series and find this genuinely interesting contrasts? It's all due to the fact that the characterization is structured around the themes of the story - life, how we live it, choosing good, humanization of ourselves and others. Fascinating stuff :)
