The first ever Pokémon game I played was Arceus, so as I’m now playing through Brilliant Diamond (picked specifically because I liked Adaman better than Irida) I’ve been really enjoying all the references I missed before. I found the Spooky Plate and was like, “The tablets were a reference? That’s so cool!” I’ve now also found the Dread Plate and the Fist Plate.

Now, keep in mind that I’ve only played Arceus and Scarlet up until this point. There are certain moves that Pokémon can have that I’m not familiar with. So when I finally caught a Munchlax (beloved child!) and saw that he already had a dark type attack, I naturally gave him the Dread Plate to hold. And that, gentle readers, is how I accidentally let my Munchlax smash the Dread Plate over a Bibarel’s head with Fling. Oops. I could almost hear Volo’s wails of despair. Hope nobody needs the azure flute anytime soon, otherwise they’re going to have to break out the superglue.

i know the whole "do you think jon ever used his powers to Know what his parents looked like" thing is far more devastating than this but what if he tried using his powers to remember original sasha? jon and sasha always seemed closer than the rest, he picked her (and tim) to work with him and tolerated a lot more nonsense from her than anyone else (using his password to access his computer [161], debating his pronunciation of calliope [25], etc)

and ofc jon and martin became significantly closer as the podcast went on, but in the beginning he was cruel to martin when he gave a statement but accepting of sasha? idk i think their friendship was a lot deeper than we realized (ESPECIALLY since his first murder in season 5 was because NotThem provoked him about sasha) and i think jon wouldve used his powers to Know the original sasha, not sure if it wouldve worked though

Decided to distract myself from the end of Good Omens by going back to my Doctor Who rewatch

Someone please explain to me why I thought that this was going to work because the next episode was Doomsday and I'm not sure Sad David Tennant™️ is a particularly good distraction from Sad David Tennant™️

Every time Mario goes to rescue Princess Peach, and the journey takes more than a day, he finds himself pausing to stare up at a beautiful moon. The lands of the Mushroom Kingdom are stunning throughout his long travels. The night sky is spectacular. And the moon is such a gorgeous beacon up there, visible from every vantage point. He wonders, as he stares up at the moon, if she is looking at it, too. Even if they are apart, perhaps they unknowingly share this moment of reprieve. Gazing up at the stars together despite the distance between them.

Peeking outside her cell, taking in what little of the night sky she can see, perhaps Peach is wondering the same thing.

Still can’t get over that the play Koizumi is in during the season finale for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. That’s fucking brilliant. I have no idea if that’s in the book, or if it was a creative choice, but that’s one of the single most brilliant background choices I’ve ever seen made in anything. Of course it is. What else could it be. Nothing fits more than somehow, Itsuki Koizumi being cast in a Japanese high school production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. They don’t even say it. You only know that’s the play if you’ve seen it, and recognize the shot. But it has unbelievable layers of meaning in 2 seconds of a wordless background shot.
