Very short and sweet Serennedy Analysis of the Seperate Ways DLC
Obvious spoilers disclaimer but also this is NOT supposed to be a diss at any ships whatsoever!!!!!!!! I love them all!!!!!!! My current hyperfixation is just on Serennedy and I see a lot of potential for it in the DLC!!!!!!!
• Ok first and most obvious. Right at the beginning, the part everyone was screaming about in the trailer, is that Luis’ first thought is to tell Ada that there is One More Thing (tm) he has to do, and that’s to help Leon, and Ada’s IMMEDIATE reaction is to be like “….ok.” I have a feeling in this context that she KNOWS how much Leon means to Luis. She KNOWS that he’s HIS priority, and that’s why she lets him go
• Again more obvious scene, but when Luis sees that the room containing the medicine intended for Leon is on fire he RUNS THROUGH A BURNING FRICKEN BUILDING TO GO RETRIEVE IT. His immediate thought (in my mind at least) is that he doesn’t wanna see Leon die in the same was his Grandfather did metaphorically. He couldn’t save his Grandfather because he was powerless, and now he’s powerless to save the medicine that would save Leon’s life. Hell, he even says “it’s all gone!! That was my last chance to set things right!!!” When Ada questions him on why this was so important to him. It’s because he cares deeply about Leon and wants to set things right. God. I love him SO much.
• Also I’ve mentioned this before, but Luis seems a LOT more relaxed/ jokey with Ada, and if you ask me, I think that’s a sure fire sign that Leon’s been putting on an act to impress Leon. He wants Leon to think he’s cool and self assured so that he’ll like him more, and in a similar vein with Ada, he dies before Leon can see that REAL side of him. JUST when Luis opens up about Umbrella, he’s stabbed in the back. It’s so sad. Sobbing,, crying,,,,
• HOOOOOOO BOY THAT SCENE WHERE HE SAVES ADA???????? I LOVE that we see his hesitancy to run because he can’t decide wether it’s worth running off to Leon or helping Ada whose in more urgent danger and he chooses Ada because he’s a GOOD PERSON WHO CARES ABT HER,,,, BUT THEN WHEN ADA SAYS “go. Besides, you have a promise to keep” SHE K N O W S HE NEEDS TO GET BACK TO LEON. SHE KNOWS HOW MUCH HE CARES ABT HIM RUARGH. AND THAT FACE?????? OH MY GOD????????
• Holy shit his death scene…………. When he’s on the phone with Ada and he goes “oh, and take care of Leon for me will you?” HIS FIRST THOUGHT IS ALWAYS LEON. AND THEN HES LIKE “gotta go, Leon needs my help” AND HE CALLS OUT FOR HIM?????? AND YOU CAN HEAR HIM DYING ITS SO AHSNWHENEJE
• And then ofc we see the death scene from a distance where Leon rushes to his side and holds his hand, and I feel like that only solidifies their affection for one another to me. As my beloved mutual said, ‘Luis got to spend the rest of his life with Leon but Leon never got to spend the rest of his life with Luis’ I can’t. Brb I’m gonna go cry after writing this all.

anatomical love; an analytical comparison
okayyy sooo brain has been currently rotting with dodgerfox and i was thinking about what poems belle and jack would write to each other, and that made me think of jeanette winterson’s written on the body and how there’s such a spiritual and anatomical emphasis on love between two lovers, and how that parallels to the literal surgical, anatomical love belle and jack have for each other.
here are those crazy cool comparisons:
“why is the measure of love loss?” (p1)
it isn’t until belle reveals her condition to jack that the severity of their love comes into play (at least in my opinion). jack either performs the surgery, or belle dies. the measure of their love is literally in the hands of jack, who throughout the series has put a juxtaposed position on the work of surgery is about death, while belle has unwavering hope for the dying and their lives. now, however, it is when belle’s life and the loss of their love is on the line that jack understand that life; the hope that people can survive.
“nobody ever died of a broken heart” (p10)
belle isn’t just losing herself if she dies, she’s losing the love that defies the patriarchal and societal structure around her. that, in itself, is a broken heart — fatal, just like her heart condition.
“i’ve tried to get you out of my head but i can’t seem to get you out of my flesh” (p15)
JACK LITERALLY HAD HIS HANDS INSIDE BELLE TO SAVE HER DAMN LIFE AND NO MATTER THEIR FUTURE HIS IMPRINT WILL FOREVER BE INSIDE HER.
“did i say this has happened to me again and again? you will think i have been constantly in and out of married women’s lumber-rooms. i have a head for heights it’s true, but no stomach for depths” (p17)
belle’s first resistance to jack when she asked him if he ever had congress… jack having sex with many women before her, but never having this Deep connection. stomaching the depth of belle (love) is much harder than emotionless sex. jack has to feel, love the person apart of a different social class, who is also in a different gender class and is in, some ways, restricted, despite her status of being the governor’s daughter.
“i became obsessed with anatomy” (p111)
in the novel, the narrator researches cancer after learning about louise’s diagnosis. just thinking about not only belle doing the same for herself, but jack taking that leap and performing the surgery — the insurmountable about of pressure weighing on him paired with the unsuccessful odds — all in the name of love and life.

The Chain playing Minecraft HCs
Time - The only one with a house. He has a huge wheat farm, a bunch of animals, a bunch of dogs, he’s having such a good time. However, he has no idea how the game works and he’s walking around really awkwardly because he still hasn’t learnt the controls. Minding his own business, forgets the crafting recipes all the time and honestly just there for a good time. He’s enjoying himself. Get this man a fishing rod, because he will loose his mind when he realises he can fish in game as well.
Legend - Stealing from everyone. “Hey, has anyone seen my diamonds?” someone asks. “No, sorry.” Legend replies while wearing a full set of diamond armour he definitely did not have a few minutes prior. He’s very mediocre at the game, but he built a house and now he’s preoccupying himself by just... stealing everyone’s riches. Doesn’t usually play the game, so he gets bored very quickly. Terrorises the villagers as a result of this. Don’t give him a flint and steel, he's the griefer of the group. Killing Twilight’s minecraft animals, probably.
Wild - Speedrunning the game. He disappears in the first five minutes and they don’t see him for hours. The only idea they have of what he’s doing is the achievements popping up in the chat box. Like, oh looks like he’s getting stone, iron, oh he deflected a skeleton’s arrow- WAIT, NOW HE’S IN THE NETHER? BLAZE RODS? He’s killed the dragon, now. Next time they see him he has full netherite and the dragon egg. Sir. How have you done this.
Hyrule - Having mad internet issues. Lagging in and out of the game. Every movement looks like he is floating, and his mic? Shambles. Terrible. When his game isn’t running at five frames a second, he’s getting himself lost in caves and mines. Usually, he spends most of their gaming sessions wrestling his internet connection to let him play for more than two seconds at a time. “Brb, gonna go kick my router” or “I need a better laptop” are common things to hear from him.
Wind - Dying every five seconds. Wind? He's been playing the longest out of everyone so he probably knows the most. Knows all of the spawn mechanics, knows a lot of strange trivia, knows what blocks look good together. Can he actually use any of this knowledge? NO. He’s the wiki of the group, but he’s still kind of terrible at the game. He’s been dying to the same group of mobs for ten minutes. He’s so sick of everything. He’s having such a bad time. Please help him.
Sky - Currently living with Time. Very new to and pretty bad at the game, but doesn’t really care. He’s having a good time. He keeps saying he’ll make a house but they all know he won’t. He wants a bunch of parrots, so he spends four hours transporting a bunch of them back to Time’s house. And then Wind tells him to feed them a cookie. Cue Sky crying. Minding his own business as well, him and Time keeping the entire server fed with that wheat farm since he’s usually the one tending to it because he has nothing else to do. Happy to just walk around and talk with his friends while not doing anything.
Warriors - Living in a village, but like, nicely. He’s building walls around it, he’s killing mobs, he’s just improving a village. Replants all their crops, kicks Legend out when he’s terrorising the villagers, all that good stuff. Anyway, he finds a horse and it’s all over when he gets a saddle. Honestly, no one has seen him for a while, he’s literally just been in this one village building it up, it’s actually a little bit impressive. Probably the best builder out of all of them. Surprisingly bad at PVP.
Twilight - Tripping into all of the dangerous areas and dying. Nether? Didn’t know what it was, ended up dying in lava. Cave? Placed a torch on gravel, fell to his death. Deep Dark? Found the Warden. Never going in a cave again. He is just really clueless to what’s going on. Fairly decent at building, but aside from that? Hopeless. Though he does love the goats. And the dogs. And the cats. Probably has the most pets out of everyone and no one quite knows why, since he doesn’t even have a house for himself. Makes a grave for every animal he has that dies.
Four - Destroying everyone’s peace. He tried to play the game normally at the beginning, but he died and lost everything so he gave up. Now, he’s just wrecking any semblance of peace anyone has. Surprisingly good at trapping people. He has made... so many traps. Everyone is so cautious around things he builds because there is a 90% chance he has trapped it. Really good with redstone and the technical stuff, which no one else can even comprehend because “A comparator does WHAT.” His base would be full of little mechanisms for everything if he actually had one lol

Okay good afternoon, I'm back with how I think MM Donnie and Mikey would be in your 12 Leo Turtle Tot AU.
When it's MM Donnie's turn to watch tot Leo, he likes to put on an anime to watch it with him. It's usually something like Sailor Moon.
MM Donnie also sometimes watches Space Heroes with 12 tot Leo per the toddler's request. This is apart of 12 Leo's plan to turn MM Dee into a fellow fan.
MM Donnie tends to slip into a baby voice when talking to the tot. He just thinks that tot 12 Leo is so adorable a he just can't help himself. MM Dee's bros make fun of him for that.
When holding Tot Leo, MM Mikey would always hold him at the hip. He saw an old photo of MM Splinter holding him like that when he was little and just thinks that's how you hold toddlers. 12 Leo doesn't like it very much.
MM Mikey actually tends to copy a lot of what he remembers MM Splinter doing from when they were younger. This includes giving tot Leo a lot of fruit. Just so much fruit.
And yeah, those are my current hcs on how the MM turtles would be in your au. Sorry I couldn't put them all in one ask...

i know this has been said before but i think the hardest thing about max's death scene for me was just how fucking realistic it was.
max had been having suicidal thoughts for the past 8 months. she was suffering and she wanted to die. that's why vecna targeted her. but it wasn't until she was truly at the end--when she realized that she really was going to die, that this was her reality now--that she wanted to take it back. she "didn't want to die." she "wasn't ready."
it's symbolic of someone whose attempted suicide and realizes right at the end that, no. they aren't ready. this was a mistake. and she was so scared. she was terrified of dying, because she'd only just realized that she had so much to live for.
as someone who has also suffered with that--with thoughts of ending it all, hell, with plans to end it all--it hit hard. and it really made me realize how much there is to live for. and that if i did try, i'd probably regret it.

SCARLET - How do they grieve?
Oof. He hasn't yet, but I don't think it'll go well. His family of monks believe death is simply one of many paths- either you achieved perfection and walk with Irori, or you are reborn to start the cycle anew if you didn't quite get it this time. Human monks aged and died while he lived at the monastery but due to this outlook on death, when the moment of sadness faded there was the expectation to see them again as either he himself would achieve perfection and greet them after death, or he would meet their reborn form.
He hasn't experienced a death of someone he actually cares about while walking the path. To be clear, he has killed in self-defense and he has stood vigil while others grieve if he came across them in his travels. But everyone's currently alive at camp, and no one I wanted to keep alive has died plot-wise, so... it simply hasn't happened yet.
(See also: very attached to his kobold friend, if he died I think Panic might just step off the enlightened path and go on a murder spree, and that could be a very interesting lawful good turned lawful evil fall from grace campaign. Still appearing to be a very even-tempered, kindly, charitable monk until you mention the people behind Rukbah's death and then you see the mask crack before he physically wrestles control back over his face. Hmm. BRB I need to ask my DM about something.)
(See also: loyal dog in terms of attachment/relationship style, but think less German Shepherd and more golden retriever that occasionally remembers it has teeth. Generally friendly, gentle, kind and fun to be around. Also! Apex predator, has not forgotten its own strength, be advised. You hurt the people he loves? Well normally he'd spout something about all life having value and the deeds of the world balancing out but before he does that he's going to make sure to cave your skull in. It's going to be *fun* meeting Cazador.)
That being said the stupid spider matriarch keeps killing the fuck out of my party and idk if it's because of approval and romance or if my game is bugged but Astarion and Panic are the only ones that react to *each other* dying. Karlach and Lae'zel just say whatever line they're going to say when they die and no one else says anything. But Astarion goes down and it's "NO this can't be the end" which I think is interesting to work into their dynamic and also sort of cute. Also Panic dw about it I recruited Withers no one's staying dead as long as I've got a couple hundred moneydollars.

I think we forget that CANONICALLY, Chidi Anagonye is *constantly* conversing in French the whole first (and most of second) seasons of The Good Place, and when The Cockroaches are in the afterlife. Which basically means we get to imagine Chidi teaching Eleanor the tenets of ethics en française AND we get to imagine Chidi going “Eleanor? I’m Chidi Anagonye and you are my soulmate” IN FRENCH.
