"the Gabe and Sally dynamic in the show is abusive" and "the way they've portrayed Gabe in the show is distinctly different from his book counterpart and fans can criticize that" are two discussions that can coexist
#I understand that this is hard topic to navigate#but me saying that /they've changed Gabe and that's consequently altered the dynamic he has with Sally in way I don't like/#is NOT me saying I don't think what they've portrayed onscreen is non-abusive#or that I WANT to see him abuse her???#its just the guy in the show while clearly controlling and abusive (emotionally and financially so far)#...I don't believe he's the guy who's presence was so horrid and disgusting MONSTERS avoided him#I wouldn't call him /Smelly/#in the book his abuse (all forms) is much more overt#(and just to be painstakingly clear: abuse doesn't have to be overt to be abuse)#but the guy in the show does not have the same presence as the guy in the book#book Gabe is menacing#he growls and he threatens and both Sally and Percy have developed very specific responses to deal with it#I've seen one take saying that people can't recognize the abuse in the show because its not physical (yet?)#but even disregarding the physical abuse entirely#if you compare the book scene and TV show scene of Percy arriving home and he and Sally readying for Montauk#there is a pretty stark difference in tone#and in how both Sally and Percy interact with Gabe#in the book Sally goes out of her way to avoid /provoking/ Gabe and asks Percy to do the same until they can leave for Montauk#and Gabe is just itching for any excuse to keep them home#and imo if Book Sally had said the things that show Sally did to Gabe#Gabe wouldn't have let them gone!#and again im not saying that the show's depiction is nonabusive#or unrealistic#im saying its simply /different/ than the book#and im upset that it doesn't feel like dynamic depicted the book#and no book sally is no simpering wilting flower#but she's also not what they depicted in the show either#pjo adaptation#sally jackson#pjo

1, 7 and 12 for Laurence (Bloodborne)
Yaaaay, my boy Laurence!!! X3
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
Oh boy, so this is kind of a long explanation. So I didn't really think much of him at first! His fight was absolute hell for me and my first character build, we don't talk about how long it took me to beat him fjdhdhdh. But!! As I started to plot out Sibyl's fic, I realized I needed to write Laurence because they're basically foils that will strangle each other given the chance (totally different story lmao). Sooooo I started analyzing his character more and building headcanons, and before I knew it I was totally in love with this trash can of a man (and writing a whole other separate fic full of self indulgence but that's ALSO another story jdhdhds)
I just. Really love the tragedy of his arc. The hubris of a man clearly cunning enough to head an institution that enables the darkest sides of humanity all in the pursuit of knowledge, and the downfall that follows. There's so much to play with there, hence why I adore writing him during the days of the Old Hunters. I'm hoping to get back to writing him someday soon, he's such a disaster jdhdhsd
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Allow him to be the piece of shit he is. No, seriously. I love injecting him with humanity, as he probably was SO much more than what we've been told, but!! I also love when people explore just how far he personally went into the depths when it came to blood research and experimentation. He can be multi-faceted! Like. Have him conduct a horrific experiment and then make tea an hour later acting like none of it phased him. Some part of it probably did, but will he tell a soul? Nope, not likely. Mans can wrestle with his demons while also still carrying out horrific shit.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
*smacks his ass* This vicar can hold so many headcanons! (I am not sorry for that bit lol)
Lesse, aside from the red hair? I have so many headcanons for him it's actually insane. He's a polyglot in my book. English and Latin are obvs what he knows best, but I like to think he's extensively studied a few other languages just to cover his bases. My version of him somehow skipped over German, so his attempts at courting an OC that speaks fluent German are an absolute disaster. Cue him trying to learn the basics of the language between all of his other duties. I love putting him through the wringer lol.
I also think he likes to keep himself as clean as possible. Funny coming from a man that works with blood on the daily, but he scrubs that shit off as soon as possible. Yharnam may be a wreck, but he doesn't have to reflect it. Public image to maintain and all of that!

FINAL EPISODE OF S.1!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
My memory is kinda fuzzy so this might have things left out
The fight scene was pretty good. I love any scene with ares in it so. But i kinda missed the whole police cars moment and i would have loved to see what the fight looked like to mortals
The scene with Alecto was good. i enjoyed how Percy was adamant about getting his mom back and Hades keeping his promise
when annabeth gives percy her necklace>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
THE SCENE ON OLYMPUS!!!!!!! guys this was sososossoosososo good<3. I love love loved how Zeus was "totally" gonna let Percy go and then as soon as Percy turned his back, Zeus was gonna strike him down. This conveyed how even after you had done something for the gods they could turn on you as soon as you turned your back.
part 2 of the bullet above. I loved how Poseidon intervened for percy. this solidified that percy is/will be his favorite kid. Especially how he had to surrender Zeus just to stop this war even though Zeus had not one but two forbidden kids of his own
I loved how percy asked if Poseidon dreamed about his mom and in turn himself. It shows how percy si trying not to hate his dad as he didnt really abandon them but he still wasn't around
When percy came back to camp🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
lets talk about the scene with luke. The way they changed it from the book was a change i liked. I liked how Luke was trying to recruit percy but not in a "you need to do this" way but in a "hey im trying to do whats best for our future" way. I loved how when they fought, when percy hurt luke, he immediately was apologizing even though luke was trying to kill him. I also loved the scene(s) of them training in the forest.
part 2 of luke point. THE LIGHTING CHANGED EVERYTHING. Like when they were just training, it was a light green/yellowy color to show happiness and joy(ish). When Luke revealed himself as the lightning thief, the firework that went off was purple and the lighting became darker and more menacing to show how Luke had changed. yellow and purple are also opposites on the color wheel so this could also show how luke was acting completely different then how he "normally" did. Also annabeth being there the entire time changed how luke acted. I could see tears in his eyes when annabeth revealed her self
THE HUG PART 2!
The group hug at the end made me so happy 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
The nightmare with kronos was good. Don't have much to say about it except for percy calling Kronos grandpa
the final scene was amazing. I saw on here somewhere that the rain on the window as the door closed signified how Poseidon could never reach them and was separated from them
Gabe's death scene was interesting as it wasn't by sally hands but by his own. His manipulative actions at the begin like answering sallys phone shows how even though people say "gabe wasn't abusive" he was abusive just not in the normal way people think of.
RIP Lance Reddick You were a great Zeus and you will be missed dearly
Okay, guys that seems to be it!! I can't wait for season 2 and to make more<3 love you guys and stay weird 💙💙💙

I can't believe my major complaint about the pjo tv show so far is gabe ugliano of all things. They showed us a bad partner, sure, but that Gabe was nowhere near as menacing as in the book. Yes, yes, abusers usually aren't stereotypical monsters that go around beating people and yelling 24/7, and yes, I know rick's portrayal was cartoonish. HOWEVER. The way Sally reacted to him was more telling about their kind of relationship than anything gabe did so far. I don't think she would be using that tone or those words or acting like that if gabe was truly menacing and not an incovenience. I'll wait until the end of the season to judge but i'm gonna be really fucking mad If they change gabe's ending. I don't want the Taylor Swift girlboss-no-man-tells-me-what-to-do brand of feminism, i want Sally to turn her abuser into stone, sell his corpse and use the money to achieve her dreams

Why I think Miguel O’Hara is autistic
(Posted by me, a autistic person and Miguel O’Hara fan)
Before anyone attacks me for this post, keep in mind that this is MY OPINION and you do not have to agree with everything I say.
I will be mostly using the 90s comics, Dark Tomorrow, and ATSV as an example because I think that’s where it shows the most.
Ok without further ado time to send the evidence.
1. Miguel is absolutely horrible with communication
There have been multiple times where Miguel just fucks up communication unintentionally. This is definitely the most prevalent in the book Dark Tomorrow (Which is a banger read, even if it’s meant for young teens) where him and Arañas relationship is very strained in the beginning, mostly because of Miguel’s fuck-ups.
There’s also evidence in the 90s comics too, like in issue 2 where Miguel freaks out over saying something menacing to Venture and just goes “Hi” like the dumb guy he is (But he’s my loser love him so)
Also he’s much better communicating with Lyla about things than a actual human being. Like he rarely shows negative emotions or talks about his feelings to anyone, not even his own brother or fiancé. Only time we see his negative feelings is when he’s by himself or in thought bubbles. That’s it.
(Miguel honey pls get a therapist I BEG)
2. He has no spatial awareness and is oblivious to his surroundings.
This isn’t really as obvious as some of the other ones but yeah. He has like- no spatial awareness. None at all.
Again we can really see this in the 90s comics, specifically issue 2 of the series. Miguel looks down at his hands and just- doesn’t see he’s grown talons. The comics explain it as his vision was blurry but I still think he would’ve at least noticed something was off. Idk. Maybe I’m thinking too much about this 😭😭😭
3. He hates change
Oh boy this is (Probably) going to be lengthy.
If you read his comics, you know he does not like having powers. Even when he’s gotten used to them and control his powers he still doesn’t like that he got them and regrets having them. Hell, even in Dark Tomorrow, which takes place 6 years after Miguel got his powers, we still see him having regret of getting them. Regret of becoming a hero.
And yes, I know in most comics when heroes do get powers they’re almost always like “Well I never wanted these in the first place!” But they learn to accept this new responsibility of theirs and overtime embrace their superpowers. Miguel isn’t like that. He never fully accepts his powers. He does get used to them sure, but it’s such a big change for him that he can’t ever accept them outright.
Another piece of evidence comes from Spiderverse. When Miles doesn’t do what he’s told it pisses Miguel off. Miguel in the movie doesn’t like going off the plan. He’s very straightforward. He’s not the type of guy to improvise on the spot. He takes time to plan. And when things goes off course, he doesn’t like that.
4. Miguel is overly sarcastic.
Autistic people are either overly sarcastic, don’t understand sarcasm at all, or are a mixture of both. For me, I think Miguel is a mixture.
One of Miguel’s defining character traits is that he is extremely sarcastic. To the point where he could be telling the truth and nobody believes him (Like Gabe in issue 2 where Miguel just outright tells him he’s grown fangs). This can also tie into the fucking up communication part, because his overly sarcastic tone could come off as unintentionally offensive or rude (Except to Tyler Stone, where he’s just mean to him because he’s a asshole)
Miguel also has trouble picking up sarcasm too, though it doesn’t happen nearly as often. For example, in Shattered Dimensions Miguel is fighting a Hobgoblin clone when Miguel asks where he got nanofiber. Hobgoblin responds in a sarcastic tone, to which Miguel responds with “Yeah that’s why I asked”
5. Sensory issues
This is definitely more of a side effect of Miguel’s powers than actual autistic traits in him, but I still wanna talk about it.
Miguel’s powers include enhanced eyesight, which means he’s more sensitive to light as well. Which is why he wears his sunglasses. It’s not just to hide his red eyes, they help him with his light sensitivity.
Miguels fangs could also be an obstacle for eating too. Since they produce venom, he has to be careful what he eats and also how he eats because one wrong bite and he could be a dose of yucky venom in his mouth. So it’s possible he has sensory issues with food too. Maybe even touch if his talons effect how he can touch things.
6. He has trouble showing emotion
This is really shown in Spiderverse where he mostly just keeps a resting bitch face the entire time. I don’t think he doesn’t want to show emotion, he just has trouble showing it. We can see that he does show emotion, but it’s only under extreme circumstances. For the most part he just looks emotionless.
That’s about it from me! Miguel is a really complex character and as a autistic person he’s a character I relate to a lot, especially now since I’m also undergoing a major change in life (Going to college). He’s just a really special character to me and I will gladly infodump about him whenever I get the chance to.
Oh and also
Bonus: He does this
(This is from Dark Tomorrow)
He just walked out of the conversation like dude why did you do that 💀💀💀

So I just read that they did actually decided to make Smelly Gabe more comical in the show than he was in the book because they thought it would be too much for kids watching the show to handle if he was as bad as he was in the books. So him being more pathetic than outright abusive and menacing was actually done on purpose. I have been loving the show but ngl that does bum me out a bit, just because like that aspect of Percy’s story is one of the parts that I related to the most when I read it in middle school. Seeing someone heroic like Percy experience something similar to me and choosing over and over again to still be a good person was a big deal to me growing up, especially with how hard it is to not succumb to the anger you naturally feel and let it make you a bad person too. I get why they made that choice I just wish they had gone about it differently. I mean there are plenty of other ways they could’ve portrayed how abusive he was without outright showing it. At least make him look smellier or something, he just looks and acts like a regular dead beat loser in the show. I mean they could’ve at least made him more repulsive. I’m just going to ignore it because it’s a small part of the overall story and everything else has been incredible, that part is just disappointing to me that’s all.
I just hope they don’t nerf the abuse that Zuko goes through in the live action avatar the last airbender too. That would be beyond ridiculous

So I really loved the PJO show. I wish we get a second season, and a fourth and so on all the way through heroes of olympus because it’s just so good. If you feel like reading my (NOT spoiler free) rambles:
- Percy’s loyalty and dedication to his mom is just so integral to his character and they RESPECT THAT.
- I really like what I’ve seen mentioned about how both casting wise and storyline changes wise there have been some adaptations that were less “lol lets change it” and more to connect better with today’s audience and cultural paradigm. Like Annabeth being blonde because of the stereotype of “the dumb blonde” that was so prevalent in the era the books were released versus her being Black showcasing the extreme undermining Black women go through instead, or Luke being less 00s/10s boyband boy looking and more tiktok softboy looking now, but also Sally being less 100% perfect and more active in the story and upbringing of Percy as both a hero and a demigod and Luke being less cool and detached and more… Sweet? Emotional?
- I did feel pretty meh about a few changes: Zeus immediately accepting that Kronos is scheming and is a threat (Ik they couldn’t know if they’ll get that far but it cuts the stakes of the third book by a lot if there’s no pressing time limit to get Artemis back to Olympus to convince the Gods into action if they’ve been Doing Stuff for two years now, and even the second book loses a little in regards to the behind-the-scenes political climate that leas to it being what it was). Luke going to every length not to kill Percy is such a 180° from the books it was a little jarring and I feel it cuts out how much of a Menace he was and how bitter/jealous he was of Percy. Like we could have seen their bonding and even Luke trying to recruit him but I’d still have liked to see the scorpion scene so the betrayal and anger and wariness Percy feels is that much deeper and bitter and personal like in the books.
- I’m of two minds about the entire Gabe arch. Like on one hand I do understand toning him down (including his demise) for the public’s intended audience, I even think it kinda goes along the adapting to new times by showing that the useless, insensitive, disrespectful aspect of a bad husband is harmful just as the “darker”, more explicitly abusive/exploitative and mean drunk book version, but on the other I feel like he had such an impact on Percy in the books (he’s literally the Oracle’s “mirage” for his prophecy, he thinks of his smell in tartarus), and I really had loved the line “you’ll fail to save what matters most in the end” coming true because Sally saves herself - although the post I’ve seen about his fate showcasing how his lack of respect was his doom did make me appreciate it a little more.
- The only castings (or maybe it was the directing and styling of them more so) that I can’t really get behind are Hades and Hephaestus. Hades felt like they were going for the Disney’s Hercules comedic relief one in a slightly toned down costume. None of the gravitas and intimidation, he didn’t feel like a god at any point. And Hephaestus was just… So different. He’s supposed to be a deeply secluded, antisocial, gruffy mechanic who’s self sequestered by his inventions and forges. The show version looked like an eccentric professor more than anything imo. Which I feel could be one modern retelling of Hephaestus in another series, but isn’t the one we had and, imo, doesn’t go as well with the rest of the vibe. Which is a shame bc I do feel like Timothy could have been used in a way that would work fantastically for those vibes.
- Lin Manuel Miranda’s, acting actually shocked me. I never really had a Hamilton phase but I am on tumblr so I was expecting something cringe and honestly, I thought it was good (and to bring it back to Hades: Hermes in sweats and a hoodie actually gave me the feeling of “this is merely a cover to a deep well of power” than Hades in his suit and dark colors ever did)
- Meanwhile, perfect Ares casting. Yes this man is beefing with (and losing to) 12yos but he’s also an ancient force that revels in bloodshed and carnage.
- Annabeth from the show encapsulates the character so well while also bringing her own notes to it. Like as time went on back in my peak pjo days I felt she got “Hermionified” by the fandom too much? And I lost sight of how fond I was of her but the show (and having reread the books) really rekindled that and made me remember why she is a force to be reckoned with and also someone that must be protected at all costs. I cannot express enough how much my fondness was reignited.
- Like I feel this could be a whole post but basically I feel the books showcase the “ideal” characteristics the gods and their kids could have versus how they wind up twisted into something else (Percy’s sea-like indomitable spirit vs several of his brethren’s ruthlessness and disregard for what’s good) and Annabeth feels like, beyond amassing knowledge for it’s sake… She wants to actually Learn, and in the show maybe even to a deeper degree than in the books and it is endearing and very enthralling.
- On that note, Leah, Walker… This is supposed to be a SLOWburn goddamit. Like in the books you can see where it’s headed but in the show they have such silly crushes I can barelyy stand it. My children.
- Speaking of Walker that kid IS Percy like you cannot convince me otherwise. Disney farmed him for this role.
- I actually really loved Poseidon having a british accent? Idk, something about england and nautical exploration and it feeling older and more… Powerful? Like the ocean
- And Zeus had all the “I’m the god amongst kings and king amongst gods” that I’d have expected from him. He was crackling with power and that was beautiful to see. What a tragic loss.
- Grover is my precious child (although I do wish we had gotten the silly, goat like details of him like eating cans and making the bleating noises). And since the last book I finished rereading was the Battle of the Labyrinth (where I cried like a baby at Pan’s death) watching this sweetheart getting all excited with his literal flower searches license? Made me wanna weep.
- Overall most of my criticisms that came to mind besides the alterations I cited came from being hushed because of too few eps and those being too short. Really really hope the next season (fingers crossed) we’ll get like, 15+ eps (and/or at least longer eps) so we can really sink into the meat and potatoes of it all.

I’ve come to realize I have probably 3 types when it comes to LIs from Choices who never fail to steal my heart every time:
Menaces to Society who are Shameless when with MC (but soft teddy bears in certain moments) i.e.:
-Cas Harlow (Immortal Desires)
-Blaine Hayes (Foreign Affairs)
-Logan (Ride or Die)
-Trystan Throne (Crime of Passion)
Sweethearts that Dote on MC i.e.:
-Adrain Raines (BloodBound)
-Griffin Langley (The Elementalists)
-Grant Emerson (Veil of Secrets)
-Tyler Woods (Murder at Homecoming)
-Liam Rys (for me, Christian Rys; The Royal Romance/The Royal Heir)
-Luke Harper (Desires of Decorum)
-King Arthur (Guinevere)
Hardasses with a Soft Spot for MC/Trying to do Their Jobs but Fall for MC i.e.:
-Kayden Vescovi (The Royal Masquerade)
-Elijah Sipes (Wake the Dead)
-Everett Flynt (Slow Burn)
-Marco di Vincenzo (Hot Couture)
-Prince Kieran (The Cursed Heart)
-Bastien (Wolf Bride)
-Synphax (The Courtesan of Rome)
-Noah Harris (My Two First Loves)
-Manu Nakeli (Shipwrecked)
-Gabriel (Gabe) Ricci (Laws of Attraction)
-Tyril Starfury (Blades of Light and Shadow)
If I play any more books, this list will only get longer. Someone, please send help 😭😅

So...some thoughts after seeing the first two episodes (and then rereading the book to fill time waiting for the next episodes).
1. Pacing in the show is different from the book. They've removed certain information and changed the flow in which characters recieved information. In the book we get all sorts of background info in Percy's thoughts that we don't get in the show, and also they seem to be in a hurry to move from plot points. I don't think this is necessarily bad, but it does make the stories feel different.
2. The actors portray a different side to the same character. The characters feel like the characters from the book, but in an alternate way. Percy still has an ironic sense of humor, but less sarcastic, more gentle. Honestly all the characters come across as more gentle with the exception of Sally, who brings her assertive side more to the front than in the books. She still had the rebellious side in the books, but she was more subtle about it. Gabe feels similar to Annabeth's stepmom in terms of cruelty, just kind of fed up and an outsider instead of terrible. Luke seems more subdued in his coolness, Clarisse has a quiet menace about her, Mr. D is more of a Trickster than bored and uninterested. Annabeth comes across as more stoic and mysterious than in the books. You can tell that she's still calculating and gentle, but she doesn't talk much or spend time with Percy so it's more subdued.
Again, I don't think this is bad, but it makes it feel different. In the show you have to pay attention to how the characters act to get a sense about them, more in what they do than what they say.
However, I still like the book for different reasons. The book's pace is slower, so you can rest in each scene and digest it; I like Percy's internal monologue for all of his quips, which we haven't seen much of his humor yet except in the narration of ep 1. Also I like the dialogues from the book which probably won't be adapted wholesale.

Out of the spn characters Gabe seems most likely to have a Tumblr account. OMG he finds out there is an actual fandom, y’know the books, and sees everything they say about him fkfkfkfkfkf
You are sooooo right! He would be a fucking menace about it too. He would show up to SO many cons and then he would torture Team Free Will with everything he finds out!!! He would also post about himself...😂😂

Okay compiling my most critical opinions on the pjo show so far (episodes 1 & 2)
The Gods' Conflict, Foreshadowing, & Big Three Kids
The show has seemingly dropped a lot of the foreshadowing and threat regarding the gods impending war over the theft of the lightning bolt. In the book, Percy remarks about how the weather's been inexplicably weird and extreme. When he gets to camp everyone is on pins and needles about something and they don't want to talk about it but its still very present. By the time he's claimed as a son of Poseidon and everyone's like "oh fuck" and then Chiron finally explains to Percy that the gods think he's the lightning thief, everything clicks into place for the reader. It all makes sense why everything seems so wrong... because things are wrong. Meanwhile in the show, that doesn't carry through as much, so the reveal of the conflict between the gods and why that's a big deal falls flat in comparison imo.
They dropped/stalled the foreshadowing of the fates and the cutting of the string. They could very well include this in future episodes, and probably will, but I think the timing of it - Percy seeing this before he even knew he was a demigod - again carries some hefty significance and helped set the foreboding tone of things being wrong even from the beginning.
They did drop Zeus's attack on Percy in the minotaur battle completely, which does disappoint me. In the book, its lightning that blasts the car off the road. In the show, Sally seemingly loses control of the car. That change is pretty significant, because it's again losing the power of RR's foreshadowing in the book. The attack on Percy outside the camp borders was a duel attack from Zeus and Hades.
Finally, I don't like the changes they made to Percy's claiming scene, namely, the reaction from the rest of CHB. Percy being a son of Poseidon is a huge deal. When Percy's claimed, the attitude is very much begrudging reverence paired with genuine fear of what it means and what he represents. In the book, Percy is claimed. People gasp. Everyone kneels. Annabeth says, "This is really not good." In the show, Percy is claimed. People... stand there? Annabeth smiles - she's going to get her quest. The only person who has the most outright negative reaction is Luke. I won't go so far to say this is out of character for Annabeth, but it is focusing on an entirely different aspect of her character in the moment, and what the audience gets from Percy's claiming scene here, the tone, is now different from the book. Basically, the reverence and fear don't really carry across to the show, which I think is important.
The phrase "forbidden child" slaps tho.
2. Gabe's Characterization, Sally's Characterization, & Why the Changes do Make a Difference
I'm going to say this with great care: The show has absolutely depicted an abusive relationship between Sally and Gabe. The show has shown Sally to be a strong woman who would do anything for her child. The show has shown Gabe to be a controlling, toxic man.
What they have depicted in the show does not read like the characters and dynamic in the books.
Book Gabe is a violent, menacing drunk. He is so disgusting and vile that monsters avoid him. This is overwhelmingly apparent from the second Percy gets home in the book, even before he is aware of the physical abuse Sally has been facing. Percy has already been dealing with physical abuse from him, amongst other things (edit to be more specific: this is including verbal, emotional, & financial abuse). I've already spoke to it here, in-depth, so I'll try to keep it short but all of this has not been translated accurately to the screen. (Is this to say that a person must be overtly abusive to be abusive? No. But does this character on-screen feel like Smelly Gabe? No.) These things have shaped Percy (and Sally) in very specific ways. As others have mentioned: Percy cannot stand alcohol. He meets Dionysus and is reminded of his step-father. He gets to Tartarus and the air reminds him of Gabe.... The character on screen, while abusive, does not share this presence at all, and that makes a difference.
Edit: To emphasize once more, I am not saying that the show has not depicted a realistic portrayal of abuse. It has (verbal, emotional, & financial so far). It has also distinctly changed the tone and Gabe's presence from the book, to the extent that it no longer feels like the same character and that does have a rippling effect on the dynamics he shares with both Sally and Percy.
3. The Lack of Annabeth
Annabeth in the show is just like... really not as present as she is in the book so far, and I'm just kinda like, why lol?
Annabeth in the books is already way more involved in Percy's life. She was in the infirmary feeding Percy ambrosia after the attack (ulterior quest motives lol), she's the one who lead Percy around camp and re-explained godly parentage to him - and its a moment where she's very sincere with him, and even trying to help him! Instead these moments are given to Chiron and Luke, which I do get the merit of, but still, these were her moments!
Annabeth in the books had already surmised that the gods were fighting, something was stolen, and the something bad was going to happen, all before Percy had even been claimed. And she shared that with him! Again, the loss of foreshadowing and little bonding moments has me :(
I'm a little worried how they're going to deal with her crush on Luke because its pretty central to her character in the books! It helps Luke to manipulate her and also keeps her from admitting he's done something wrong. Also, it was very sweet and funny reading her get flustered - It drove home the point that she was just a kid with a crush that she didn't know how to handle. But in the show Luke spoke to her and I was expecting there to be some sort of reaction to it and there just... wasn't? (This is not something I'm laying at Leah's feet btw! Only the writers/directors!) We're only two episodes in tho so maybe we'll see it some more moving forward.
4. The Minotaur Battle
Again, I've already spoken about this in depth here but !!
The lack of Zeus's lightning strike, them all coming to a standstill and just chatting instead of running for their lives, Grover being awake and just sort of off to the side watching the fight, Sally being like "Promise Me Grover Swear it"... it all just doesn't ring right to me
I wanted more panic, more terror, more urgency. Higher stakes. I wanted Grover unconscious, I wanted to see Percy drag him into camp, and I wanted to see more of Percy's grief alongside his rage. Like the book did.
The pacing in the show here, and just overall, is weird
5. Other Stuff
Mrs. Dodds fight kind of fell flat too. It was honestly too sudden and Percy killing her in the show seemed even more accidental than in the book lol. Like, accidental impalement vs intentional swing of the sword.
They really had show Grover throw Percy to the wolves and not just gaslight him, but low-key have a part in getting him expelled? Not sure how I feel about it tbh.
More New York. I wish we had gotten the part of Percy taking the bus home with Grover included cause like? Him ditching Grover was funny, but it would have been the perfect opportunity to show Percy traveling through New York and establish it has his home. Shots of him looking at the city, walking the streets, interacting with people near his building.. yeah.
More Montauk too tbh. Like more shots of him and Sally on the beach rather than just the cabin.
Nectar and Ambrosia! Unless I missed it, which I might have, why have we still not gotten an onscreen depiction of it yet lmao.

Hello
I have a question that im really curious to ask
What would be Nellie like in the bullet club?
Like as her character and I’m also really curious if her and David did make public their relationship
TOO SWEET
MEG🌼
Hi, Meg! I LOVE that you're curious about this and I'm more than happy to answer!
So, the main thing that Bullet Club (and really, David) has done for Nellie is restore her confidence. She'd really been sort of beat down and burnt out by both her career and personal life until David came back to Japan for the G1 Climax 32 (2022). He really reminded her that she's a bad ass who deserves more than just the status quo, and so Bullet Club Nellie is a lot more assertive and aggressive. But she doesn't talk shit that she can't back up on her own; she's not chickenshit heel Bullet Club 😉
She's also actually really good friends with all the War Dogs and (surprise, surprise) I have a lot of thoughts about her dynamic with each of them.
After David, Nellie is the closest with Clark. She definitely looks at his antics like wtf is wrong with you (affectionate), because while he can be an absolute menace inside the ring and out, he's also a super genuine person who cares a lot about his friends. And idk, they just have fun together. But sometimes he def tries to flirt with her and David shuts that down real quick 😂
Then there's Gabe, and Nellie tries her best to be his voice of reason lmao. Like she wants to be the angel on his shoulder when all the guys are being devils 😂 She just cares about him and knows he's had kind of a rough go of it and wants to see him do well. I think part of her feels bad about the way Jay treated him when he was a Young Lion, too 😂
I definitely think that, in actuality, Alex is the kind of person who if he gives you a hard time it means he likes you, and that's def the vibe with him and Nellie. He talks a lot of shit to her just because he's from NYC and she's from Philly and there's that natural rivalry there. But she always laughs at his dumb dad jokes so she's cool in his book.
As for Dan, he's ride or die for his friends and family, and Nellie knows he has her back 100%. Also, I've talked about this with @aussiearrow - Dan (and also Gabe) has definitely fired back at rando dudes who say weird, creepy shit in the comments of Nellie and Torrance's socials 😂
Which brings me to David 😊 When I saw that you asked if he and Nellie had made their relationship public, at first I was like, "What do you mean? She went out there with him for Dominion, of course they made it public." But then I realized they didn't kiss or anything out there, so I guess that's not definitive 😂 But yes! They make it public (and neither of them gaf what Jay thinks about it 🤭). And sometimes Nellie is purposefully obnoxious about their relationship. Like you know how David has been leaning into the fact that he's a rich nepo baby? Well, Nellie has definitely made a post somewhere saying something like, "I don't have to wrestle anymore because daddy takes care of me, but I'm too good not to" 💀. But that's just her leaning into her heel stage persona 😂
So yeah, there's my essay of an answer (and I could have written more, trust). But seriously, it made my day seeing this in my inbox, and I hope I've answered your question! And feel free to ask any others you may have!

15 & 18 for the ask game thingy pls
15. What is a common misconception about your OC? (Alternatively, what do people assume about them which is either incorrect or misconstrued?)
Adelaide: people tend to assume that because she's so mean and kind of a bitch that that is all there is to her and generally after meeting her for the first time, they don't put in the effort to get to know her (which is completely understandable, she is really mean).
Hayden: because they're so happy all the time, people assume there's something wrong inexplicably with them but really that's just who they are. they weren't always such a happy person but their bubbliness and optimism has always been a part of their personality, it's just... multiplied ten fold in recent years.
Gabriel: with Gabe, it's more difficult to assume things about him because he is so reserved and quiet but the general consensus is that people find him incredibly intimidating and scary. huge, muscled & tattoed man with the most menacing rbf you've ever seen? yeah, makes sense why people would think that but i promise underneath it all, he's the sweetest and softest cinnamon roll ever, he's just a little shy.
Jordan: people tend to assume a lot about them; that they're stuck up, they're mean or that they don't care about patients and only about getting the job done to name a few. but these simply aren't true and it hurts them slightly each time someone thinks that about them.
Mavis/Maverick: because of how they act and their sense of humour, people usually assume that they're mentally ill; possibly dealing with schizophrenia or just flat out insanity, but again these aren't at all true. they're just unique and eccentric, and M doesn't care what others think about them so all they know the truth.
18. What is the one thing that they only let those closest to them see?
Adelaide: perhaps a cliché, but her vulnerable side. Her walls are built extremely high, but if you take the time to befriend her and get close to her, she'll tear those walls down and show you everything she's too scared to show the rest of the world.
Hayden: their emotions, probably - other than happiness, that is. they've gotten so used to being so bubbly around others, that they've started to think that that's expected of them at all times, so at times when they don't feel that way, they don't think they're allowed to show to it.
Gabriel: honestly, just himself in general. like Adelaide, he's built his walls pretty high but instead of hiding a fraction of himself, he's hiding everything. so if only those closest to him know who he really is.
Jordan: very similar to Gabe where only those close to them will know what they're really like. they tend to put on a professional mask/persona while they're working and they slip into it so often that they sometimes find it difficult to slip out of it.
Mavis/Maverick: their yu-gi-oh! card collection. M is truly an open book, there's no part of themself that they hide but only true, close friends get to see their collection (which is actually very impressive, if i do say so myself).

The Angel In Me
Pairing: Dieter Bravo x gn!Reader
Rating: Explicit (Minors DNI)
Word Count: 2.2k
Content Warnings: Smut in the form of a blow job, gross misrepresentation of biblical themes, possible implication of power exchange (though it isn't, all parties are consensual)
Notes: So this fever dream fic is the culmination of several menaces in Discord, talking about biblical themes and the 7 deadly sins & 4 horsemen, and my brain just decided to say "but what if sexy?" and here we are. This is all thanks to @pagannightwitch, @beskarberry, @toomanystoriessolittletime, @mandocrasis, and @adikas-anonymous (who also gave me a dialogue line for the story too💙) for basically sending my brain on a spiral.

Being stuck with gate duty was the most boring job any angel could land and Dieter shoved his sunglasses higher up his nose with a heavy grunt, the stupid white toga he had to wear as an angel trainee barely covered the bottom of his dick on a good day and he always ignored the side-eye from others when he shrugged on his green robe.
Under usual circumstances he’d be all for bearing everything and letting it all hang out but since he had to look presentable to greet new spirits at the gate Dieter didn’t want them to come back tattling if they got all up in arms over his cock being visible. They’d learn eventually, sure, but until then he didn’t need any excuses to get sent down the pit.
He hadn’t been forced to go to Hell but he wasn’t sure he wanted to find out what was down there quite yet, so repenting and training had been the future he chose.
A soft flicker of light made him look over at the staircase, landing on the newest soul to come for judgement, and his throat bobbed immediately. He’d spent so long around apostles and old looking angels that he’d almost forgotten how fucking beautiful people were, and this one was ticking all the boxes.
“Is this- oh.” Their curious tone fell to something resigned when they spotted the pearl and golden doorway behind him, eyes darting along the intricately designed barrier, and Dieter opened the large book before him that started to glow gently with the soul’s approach.
“Let’s see where you belong, yea? C’mere, sweetheart.” He gestured to the seat in front of him; the sturdy white marble desk was gaudy and felt really out of place for the white-walled room; like some sort of clinical office building, rather than the cloudy paradise that the movies and shows liked to depict. He wasn’t surprised to see the person across from him was bare, his eyes tracing each part of their nude form, the souls that arrived fresh still didn’t know they could give themselves clothes or just appear however they wanted.
That had been a big surprise for him when he’d died, especially since he’d met some crusty old angel named Gabe first.
“Are you- I’m having my life judged, aren’t I?” They sat down and shivered at the touch of the cool chair against their bare skin and he nodded with his expression as neutral as he could manage, when he found their page he skimmed the text to find out what the “Almighty” had chosen for them.
“I can’t believe- you’re Dieter Bravo right?”
“You know me?”
“Of course I do, I’ve seen all your movies and shows. I figured you were here because of the whole ‘comfort in your last moments’ thing that people always preach about.”
He leveled them with a look.
“Nope, I’m in training and I’m here because Paul decided to fuck off for the day and nobody else wanted gate duty. Good to know you’re a fan though, I figured I would be forgotten.”
“Never.”
He almost hesitated at the conviction in their voice, the firm expression on their face, but they weren’t the first fan he’d ever met even if the idea that he had an actual legacy did come as a surprise. He returned to their book while fighting a smile.
The verdict was not heaven and Dieter pressed his fingertips to the golden letters, to find out why, he was transported to a new time and place despite not moving from the chair and felt that disorientation that came from looking into the memories of a soul. He watched this person driving, safely and obeying all the road rules, to work when they were cut off by a reckless driver that ran a red light.
Their angry words whispered under their breath, a soft curse to the other person, weren’t exactly friendly but Dieter couldn’t have expected that to be the cause. Until he realized belatedly that the other driver was a Guardian Angel, in a human guise to carry out their duties on Earth, and because they’d cursed a Heavenly being they were meant to be sentenced to time in purgatory like he had been when he died.
Fuck that.
Blinking away the disorienting feeling of being pulled through their memories he stared at the soul across from him, they looked hopeful and soft and his cock jumped to attention at the idea of those lips wrapped around him. He shook that away knowing this wasn’t the time to do anything like that, he didn’t need the Archangels accusing him of taking advantage of a new soul or something.
What he could do was change the judgement, seeing their memories was a second chance to prevent souls from going to the wrong place since the Almighty wasn’t infallible, and he felt good knowing he was saving them from something like purgatory when they had no reason to be there at all.
“Almighty one says you’re due for purgatory, labyrinth that you wander until you’ve repented.”
Their eyes blew round in surprise and they shot a nervous look to the hallway that he pointed to, scared and unsure, and Dieter pushed his chair back. He made sure to stand up, so he could throw a little flair into his delivery of the news.
“I can change your judgement-“
“You can? What do I- what do I have to do?”
He blinked at them and smiled, making sure to drop his shades enough for them to see his eyes.
“Nothing, at all, you didn’t deserve a purgatory judgement. I mean I wouldn’t say no to a little fun but you don’t have to. I don’t do coercion or force, not my thing and never has been.”
The look of surprise melted to something soft, gratitude and adoration, and then he found himself watching them get up and walking around to him instead. Their expression was coy, they wanted him, and he felt his body responding eagerly to their bare form pressing against him as they reached out to slide the tip of their finger across the draping white fabric just below his collar bones.
“I- what if I wanted to? You’re- I had the biggest, dumbest, crush on you and was devastated when you died. Or is that- would you get in trouble?” Dieter snorted and shook his head, it was kind of weird because they all wanted to appear as they died but there were plenty of old ass angels that got together to fuck.
“Trust me, sweetheart, they’d be a bunch of hypocrites if they did say something. You want to do something for me? Can I have these pretty lips around my cock?”
“Yes.”
He sat back in his chair and they followed, dropping to their knees in front of him onto the cold floor, and Dieter didn’t even have a chance to offer them to get comfortable as they ran their nose along his inner thigh and gripped his calves gently; his exhale was soft as he let his head fall back, their soft exhale against the sensitive skin of his balls making him shudder.
Dieter couldn’t even think of the last time anyone had been near his dick, since most of the trainees refused to even indulge a little for fear of being punished and the ones that were willing had already shacked up.
“You’re so pretty.” The puff of breath against his shaft had him dragging his hand up into his hair, gripping it tightly when they finally wrapped those lips around the head of his cock and Dieter whined when they drew back and pushed up the skirt of his toga before dragging their nose down the length of his shaft. One of their hands drifted up and they licked their palm to moisten the skin before circling him and pumping gently, a teasing sensation that made him buck his hips.
Dieter grunted when they chuckled before he was moaning as they dipped their head to lick his sac, he jumped when those sinful lips kissed at the skin before their tongue teased him again. Their grip on him tightened a little, thumb smearing the precum gathering, and he looked down in time to watch them mouth at the side of his shaft as they looked up at him.
Licking away the mess and hollowing their cheeks around him, making Dieter roll his hips up to get more of his cock into their mouth, he was robbed again as they drew back before they swirled just their tongue against his frenulum and then let their tongue tip swirl mindlessly down his shift.
“Fuck- you’re really trying to make me beg aren’t you sweetheart?” His breathy question earned a dark chuckle and Dieter couldn’t stop his yelp as they drew one of his balls into their mouth entirely, the sensation making him tremble as they continued to swirl their tongue around him, and then the tease went and let him go with a soft pop before licking and sucking at the skin of his inner thigh.
“Please sweetheart-“
Their eyes flashed in victory and Dieter nearly howled as the heat of their mouth slid down his shaft fully, hand gripping what they couldn’t fit, both of his hands now in his hair as their free hand pressed down against his lower abdomen to prevent him from fucking up into their throat. He wheezed as they hollowed their mouth and drew up his cock, a slurp that echoed in the room making his skin tingle, and he felt the sudden flicker of energy right as they dropped their mouth back down him.
“Shit, you gotta stop before someone-“ He nearly wheezed when they let up off him and scooted back so they were under the desk, grabbing his calf and pulling the chair closer by grabbing behind his knees, and Dieter just managed to school his face into something calm when Paul walked into the room. The menace under the desk didn’t stop mouthing at him, slow and gentle to avoid making nose, and Dieter’s cock jumped at the fact that he could very easily get caught.
“Please tell me you don’t want me to finish out the day? Gabe just ripped me a new one for deciding to visit the library and leaving you here but they just got a copy of the newest bible translation on Earth so we’re all comparing to see what the mortals are trying to muck up now.” Dieter bit the inside of his cheek as those sinful lips teased their way down his shaft again, slow and quiet, his cock resting heavy on their tongue.
“No, Paul, you can go compare bible translations.” His voice pitched high at the end when he felt the touch of gentle fingers on his sac and Dieter had never been happier as the old man practically fled the room with a loud “thank you” that disappeared the second the doors closed. He looked down to see the very satisfied gleam in those eyes, lips still gentle around his cock, and as he went to say something his moan echoed in the room as they hollowed their mouth and drew up before sinking even lower until their nose pressed into the hair at his base.
“Thank the big boss I’m already dead, cuz you’re killing me here, sweetheart.”
His voice was definitely wrecked and Dieter squeezed the arms of the chair as their throat tightened and shifted around him with the swallow, drool beginning to dribble out of their mouth, and as they drew up with another loud slurp he cupped the back of their head and let them breathe before just resting his hand there as they sank back down his shaft with a moan.
Dieter wasn’t going to last, he panted loudly and his hips jumped at the fast bobbing of their motions and found himself whining when they would draw back and suckle at the head of his cock, his balls started to draw up and he tried to warn them but there was no time. As they sank back down he gripped the back of their neck with a loud groan, it faded into grunts as he rocked his hips up to chase the sensation, and their nose sank into the wiry hair at his base to swallow around him one last time before they let up.
His cock was a mess of drool and cum, their chin stained and lips darkened, and he couldn’t stop himself from pulling them up into his lap to kiss them finally like he’d wanted to do since they walked into the room.
“Will this be the last time I see you?”
Their voice was soft, needy and nervous, but Dieter immediately shook his head.
“No, not if I can help it, you’ll be an angel trainee and you can bet I’ll come find you.”
He was whining from how sensitive he was when they slid back down and cleaned him up, his eyes studying their bare form again, and Dieter gave them his green robe with a smile before marking their page in the book with the gold and pearl stamp that opened the door behind him.
“I have to finish out today, but after that… you’ll need someone to show you around.”
Dieter earned a salacious grin before they disappeared through the “pearly gates” and his eyes danced with the promise of someone more his taste being around. He couldn’t wait to return the favor.

Update news!
I really want to assure anyone that takes the time to read my fic that it has not been forgotten and it is always on the back of my mind, Ive had a very hard couple of years and as much as writing brought me comfort and escaping, it was incredibly hard to muster the energy it needs.
However-! Lately i have been improving, i have a fantastic new job and im finally in a better place, Im back to working on chapter 20 and its turning out to be pretty beefy with much to pay attention to! I hope it will be worth the wait.
In the mean time, please enjoy a small teaser for whats to come ^_^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Holographic screens covered the walls, some overlapping, some floating in the air momentarily with a sudden news flash and disappearing swiftly with a flick of a finger. Articles, world stocks, bank accounts and private emails occupied each screen. One of the many phones lying on the wired covered desk vibrated and a fingerless gloved hand with purple painted nails picked it up, the screen illuminating brightly.
Extraction successful.
Sombra grinned, pulling up a separate bright purple screen and with a few tapping movements from a manicured hand she sent the remaining funds to Hava luxury jets. “Lil Birdy escaped from her cage.” She said in a sing-song voice. She cracked open a can of energy drink and lounged back in her chair, casually swiping through screen after screen and lazily tapping away one handed. In the corner of her eye she saw a screen flicker on and off. Sombra slowly withdrew the drink from her lips, eyeing the screen cautiously. It flickered a couple of more times before suddenly flashing red. A Bright white eye suddenly glaring at her for less than a second.
“Stop spying on me!” She snapped at the screen.
“That's rich coming from you.” A rasped voice spoke from the shadows causing Sombra to shriek and pull out her uzi. The can fell to the floor, spreading a suspiciously green fluid on the rich carpet.
“Tu hijo de puta, Gabe!” She said, realising the voice's owner. She immediately looked relieved and placed her palm over her chest. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”
“The thought has crossed my mind.” The man once called Gabriel  replied, walking forward with his mask turning to the multiple screens.
“Hey, no peeking!” Sombra snapped, quickly shutting down her many operations with a flick of her hand.
“Worried ill see something i'm not supposed to?” Reaper questioned, his unnerving skull mask slowly turning its head towards hers.
“I don't want you to see what i got you for your birthday” Sombra said with a mischievous grin. “Of course I know when it is”
The Reaper remained unfazed to her disappointment, his head tilting at her like he expected something.
Sombra raised her eyebrows questionably. “So..? I take it this isn't a social call..Aren't you supposed to be at the super friends brunch?”
“An asset disappeared over 12 hours ago.” Reaper replied. “Vishkar Architect and highly valuable. You wouldn't know anything about that would you?”
“Oh, the Vaswani girl? You really only found out now?” She tutted and twirled a thin strand of hair around her finger. “I knew as soon as Sanjay's assassin lost her, and poor dear Sanjay”..she smiled slyly. “He's
not in Akande's good books is he?
Reaper took a menacing step forward. “You're not in my good books. Especially after that stunt you pulled in Russia. I don't know what you're up to Sombra..but I'll find out. Now..where's the Architect?
Sombra scowled up at him. "I deal in secrets Gabe. Not people smuggling. If Sanjay lost his prized pet, that's his lookout.”
“And tell me of your lookouts..This new Overwatch is operating from somewhere and they have the Junker. I want another sweep of the Gibraltar base.”
“Chasing ghosts again Gabe? You know that place is long abandoned since you tried to shoot your way in..unless you want some high quality footage of monkeys you would only  be wasting your time. The place is dead, all the bases are. They're probably hiding in someone's basement. Besides..” her purple painted lips turned to a sneer. “It was you who failed at every chance I gave you to find them.”
Suddenly the cold barrel of one of the shotguns was pressed roughly underneath her chin. If Sombra was surprised she did not show it. "Wanna shoot me Gabe?" She said with a daring grin. "Surely Talon can't afford to lose their most talented asset?"
He chuckled darkly, lowering the gun. "Don't act like you're the only hacker we have."
"No..but I am the best. And the best always has the good shit.”  She snapped her fingers and a screen suddenly appeared, illuminating the dim room. it showed a photograph of a well dressed asian woman leaving a high class restaurant.
"Am I supposed to know who that is?” He asked
"That's Yua Watanabe..eldest child of the Watanabe clan? Seems the foxes have been having covert meetings with the disgraced head of the dragon, Hanzo Shimada? I wonder how the Tigers will play with this information..”
Reaper made a disinterested noise and turned to leave. “Leave the politics to Akande. For now I have my own prey, one I found myself with my own sources. You're not the all seeing oracle you think you are.”
She gasped mockingly. “You just talked your way out of your birthday present.”
“I’m going to the meeting, report anything suspicious back to me..and only me.”
“Are you  inviting me as your plus one?”
“I know you well enough to know you’ll spy on the entire meeting, Sombra..keep your eye on Sanjay.”
“Aye aye Commander Reyes.”
The Reaper paused, leather bound fingers tapped at one of the shotguns at his side before growling and disappearing into the darkness.
If you liked that Monarch design, you should check out the PV!HawkMoth design the showrunners included in the old ML art book. Really sleek and menacing, but definitely would clash really bad when doing the over the top tantrums Gabriel throws.
(the monarch design)
i have seen the old design, yes! agreed that it is cooler looking but quite a bit too cool for gabe. canon design is what he deserves 😂 the monarch design is also too good for him but you would not see me complaining if something similar was canon
