"The former prime minister had the public backing of 59 Tory MPs but had to reach 100 to proceed in the race.
Mr Sunak, the former chancellor, has more than 140 backers, a significant lead over Penny Mordaunt, the only other remaining candidate. If he wins, Mr Sunak will become the third prime minister this year."
It's important to note that he didn't pull out of the competition. He failed to qualify to take part. He had half the support he claimed.

*Another* Pridemas miracle?
BoJo the Clown has left the UK Parliament effective immediately, but not without trying to burn down everything on his way out the door. His most ardent supporter Nadine Dorries has also resigned, which means there are two by-elections in the offing, in an environment that very much does not portend the Tories keeping both seats.
Psst, Boris: try taking some fucking responsibility for lying to Parliament rather than blaming the people who caught you lying to Parliament. It's not a partisan witch hunt if you're actually guilty of what you're being investigated for...

Boris Johnson is not a man currently without, as he might put it himself, a slew of significant botherations. But his biggest problem now, according to his biographer Tom Bower, is simply where he is going to live.
“I think it’s extraordinary that no one has cottoned on to this but his greatest problem is his own domestic arrangements,” said Bower. “He let out his home in Oxfordshire because he thought he wouldn’t need it for many years to come and he doesn’t have a house in London. Carrie has a flat in Camberwell but it’s not big enough for four people, two of whom are small children.”
What the wallpaper is like in Carrie’s Camberwell flat isn’t a matter of public record. But even assuming it is tolerable, Johnson is used to having his housing, transport and a large part of his living costs covered by the taxpayer on top of his £155,376 salary as prime minister. Now, without even a car of his own to his name, the soon-to-be former prime minister is looking decidedly ill-equipped for life in the outside world.  ...
...  “He is going to have a very tough time of reckoning in the coming days and weeks,” Bower said. “Psychologically, the threat of homelessness, not having all the flunkies, not having power, not having Chequers and not having authority is going to hit him very badly.”  ...
It couldn’t happen to a better guy.

idiots
A staggering 71 million more people around the world are experiencing poverty as a result of soaring food and energy prices that climbed in the weeks following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the United Nations Development Program said in a report Thursday.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, right! We could have avoided this world calamity if we had smart politicians in the US and the EU. Idiots in Washington D.C pushed Zelensky on the path of a full-scale military conflict. The Brandon regime decided to "help" Ukraine to defeat Putin by fighting a proxy war. Idiots in London decided to sacrifice ordinary people in the UK by making the country the globalist playground of Ukraine. The good news is Boris is out. Senile Joe will lose the majority in the House and probably in the Senate this coming November.

The dumbasses are following the Great Reset/WEF theory blowing up in their faces.
If everyone pulled out their 401k plans, they would be doomed!
I know the royals didn't want Brexit to happen. The people have spoken. They all want out of the corrupt EU.
They were having the same problem with taxation without representation.
Good luck to the UK. Let's hope they don't throw another globalist in there.
People are hurting worldwide. Do they really think we will beg our governments to bail us out? We'll vote them out for being incompetent.
Love, JD 😜💋

i think it says something about British society that their Donald Trump equivalent wound up being abandoned by his party because they didn't want to make a fuss.

Deeply curious to see how the hell the mass resignations will be dealt with if this dipstick is apparently planning on hanging around until Autumn.

More good news!
Aka more adventures of Big Dog Johnson the clown 6th May edition
I'm sure @becausegoodheroesdeservekidneys will cover this in due course as well, but after SOOO MANY long and bitter years, it seems like someone has FINALLY turned on the light at the end of the tunnel.
Yesterday was the day that local elections happen here in the UK and whilst only half of the results have been declared so far its still been a complete shitshow for the tories so far. They've lost over 130 councillors and control of 6 local councils (including Wandsworth, Barnet and Westminster, which they've held for decades to Labour) and it looks like they're getting ready to go after big dog himself.
Now this by any stretch of the imagination can't be considered a cut and dried success for Labour (who have taken a good 2/3rds of the seats the tories have lost so far) but its another MASSIVE nail in the coffin for BoJo as it shows which way the wind is blowing (social media has been full of people showing election leaflets where tory candidates have been trying to distance themselves from Johnson and his cronies) and it's going to give plenty of MPs the impetus to try and force him out in an effort to cut their losses

Women with children in UK face deportation to Nigeria and Ghana | Home Office | The Guardian
...  Maria Brul of the charity Detention Action said: “This Ghana and Nigeria mass charter flight is due to forcibly expel many women with British children, some of who have lived here for over 25 years.”  ...
I’ve had it with all these heartless, thoroughly evil conservative bastards everywhere! They’re ruining our lives and our planet!
