Y'all, it has been literal months and I'm still not over how Born With Teeth was simultaneously a vicious takedown of the myth of William Shakespeare the man and one of the greatest entries to that mythos.

That is some A+ playwrighting right there...

Okay, the ending of hamlet is horribly, terribly, tremendously sad.

But imagine poor Horatio who has to go back to normal life after that. Imagine him having to go back to university and keep up with lessons and shit and be social etc as if nothing happened ?

Like, a few days ago he was holding his deceased best friend and probably lover's body in his arms and now he gotta joke around with his classmates and listen to some old man telling him about Latin and shit ?

And last but not least, all of this knowing that he could have avoided it all with the sole strength of his words. He could've just said I love you to hamlet to save the day. He could've prevented this whole massacre from happening if only he DID SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

He went through a massacre that will cause him lifelong trauma by acting like nothing was happening and now he has to pretend none of this ever happened.

I'm properly sobbing rn.
