hello.
I'm, like, bored and don't know what to post but I know I want to post. So yeah.
Uh, what about why I don't like hinny? Because I don't.
Ginny is Ron's sister and Harry always saw her like a sister
His feelings for her kinda just appeared smack dab in the middle of HBP
Ginny had a crush on him before she even met him, presumably because he was, like, famous
Therefore it was more like a celebrity crush
harry only really got a love interest because everyone else did
If you notice in the epilogue, Harry was clearly the 'boss' in the relationship. He named the kids (James? Sirius? Albus? Severus? Lily?) and kept his job (as an Auror? And not the DADA teacher?). Ginny would have gone so hard as a famous Holyhead Harpies player. And Harry would have wanted to step down from the fame and, like, existence.

Ginny? A crush for 6+ years? Obsession much?

au idea (slytherin!harry)
idk if this has been thought of before, probably has
but what if wolfstar took in neville after his parents got tortured and then after james and lily died they took harry and they grew up as brothers?
and like neville visiting his grandma sometimes and harry going with remus and sirius to the dursleys (it would be hilarious. plus, that protection charm thing)
and sirius interacting with the most muggle of muggles and being so clueless about everything (it drove vernon bonkers)
and augusta was like a mum to them, straightening their collars and showing them how to properly dust the shelves (because remus insisted that they learn how to do things by themselves, without magic) and augusta being the wonder that she is, telling them stories of the war and how brave their parents were
and then when the sorting hat was placed on neville's head and it called out gryffindor, he didn't flinch or beg it not to. he knew that he could at least try to do his best. (i realize that even in canon he still had his grandma to tell him stuff, we're just gonna ignore that)
and when harry was sorted into slytherin he didn't look down at his toes or hide his head in his hands. he kept his chin up and persevered, like a true slytherin, because he understood that all houses were equal and if he was slytherin, that meant he was a slytherin.
and neville didn't complain when harry made friends with draco and blaise and pansy, just like harry didnt when neville met dean and seamus. they still hung out and stayed together, like true brothers.

i've been trying to figure out which golden trio era characters would teach each subject at hogwarts because i'm like that so here's who I've got so far:
dada is harry obviously
potions is draco, also obvious
care of magical creatures is luna
herbology is neville, obvious cause its canon
madam pomfreys job (healer?) is hannah abbott, again canon
charms or arithmancy would be hermione, i can't decide
divination would be lavender or parvati but parvati probably wouldn't do it after lavender died

just want to mention for people making house of black/malfoy/lestrange ocs that they named their children after constellations. they kinda fucked up with narcissa ig but here are some constellation names for people looking (also this was just fun to make) :
Aquila - Eagle, retriever of Zeus' thunderbolts
Auriga - Charioteer, son of Vulcan
Cassiopeia - Queen Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda
Hercules - Greatest hero in Greek mythology (other than Percy Jackson)
Hydra - Multi-headed water snake, slain by Hercules
Lacerta - Lizard (it fit with draco and scorpius, okay?)
Leo - Lion of Nemea, slain by Hercules
Lyra - Lyre played by musician Orpheus
Norma - Carpenter's square
Ophiucus - Serpent bearer, god of medicine

naming fanfic?
writing a modern hogwarts au and i haven't the slightest idea what to call it. my previous names have been:
modern hogwarts
hogwarts in the 2020s
just your average joes
i'm going to hogwarts
and i think they all suck and i've been told it has to have something to do with harry potter (but not harry potter because it's not about harry potter) so i'm thinking some variant of the golden trio (because its about two adolescent *assholes* and the *anger issues and trauma and depression* kid that keeps them straight (ironic cause shes bi)). anyone know some cheap, defective/useless, dumb metals (such as tin, but The Tin Trio has too many 't's)?

What if Harry was three when his parents died?
They would have known what was coming. They would have been able to teach him simple protection spells. They didn't care about underage magic. They only cared about their son.
Imagine Voldemort. He'd killed James just then. Got rid of Lily soon after. Easy. He did not, however, take into account their son, proudly wielding a wand. Voldemort cried an 'Avada Kedavra!' only to be met with a sniffly 'Expelliarmus!'
He didn't expect much of it. He could handle a simple toddler. Much to his surprise, that red streak erupting from Harry's wand met his own, sparking a gold ball of energy, the line between good and evil. The green light from his own wand begun to shrink. Was Voldemort, a mass murderer, about to lose to a... child?
Yes.
He felt himself slowly break away. He tried screaming the curse over again to no avail. Voldemort was gone.

the queue is great! it's helpful if you want to post regularly or if you have lots of posts you want to reblog but don't want to do all at once.
you can queue posts by either a) clicking the reblog button > clicking the arrow next to it once it opens the page where you can add comments > selecting 'add to queue'; or
b) going into settings > clicking on the part that says 'labs' (where tumblr has new features they're working on) > turning on 'fast queue' (this adds a new icon next to the 'reply' and 'reblog' icons where you basically reblog a post but 'add to queue' is the default).
and why would i want to post regularly, you ask? well, the more you post (and the more diverse posts you have), the more likely it is for your posts to reach more people. accurate tags help with this, too. it also helps if you need to post at a consistent schedule for whatever reason, but can't always log on at the same time every day.
if you want to queue your posts at more random times, go into labs and turn on 'queue 2.0'. this enables a more detailed way to schedule your queued posts. i had to play around with it before i found something i liked, and i suggest you do too.
