//All i’m saying is: We could just do the House of the Dragon as a whole civil war show...Season 1 spans first 20ish years leading into the Dance of the Dragons...Then season 2 and maybe first half of 3 (or a full 3rd season) with the rest of the Dance and leading to Aegon II and Aegon III and then the other seasons you could focus on the first Blackfyre Rebellion and eventually the second Rebellion. It’s been repeated multiple times that the House of Dragon is at war with itself. Why stop at the Dance. There’s more Targaryen civil wars to follow, plus we get to see Baelor and Brynden Rivers....and other characters who i’m forgetting as of right now. It’d be a smart move.

Mel mentions whoever the Prince that is Promised will bring the dawn, and Dany questions it since she’s not a prince, after Missandei says the word has no gender so it could still be Dany. Do you think the writers were implying it was Dany that was the princess that was promised, and do you think Martin will change that and it will be Jon in the books since his foreshadowing is a little bit stronger?
Mel is probably wrong and Targs are usually wrong as well. Prophecies are deceiving, that's the point that GRRM is trying to make.
Memory, Sorrow and Thorn is a fantasy series by Tad Williams that inspired GRRM to write Asoiaf. In summary and avoiding spoilers, in that series the heroes think that finding "3 objects" will help them to defeat a greater enemy, but lets say that that didn't end that well . . . .
So, back in Asoiaf, the prophecies about the Prince that was promised and/or Azhor Ahai (are they the same?) being a super special great hero that will defeat the dark and cold won't end that well either, because maybe those are no heroes at all, but another greater enemy against humanity.
In the past, the First Men didn't need a foreing hero or dragons, they were 12 men and their normal pets, and they even got the help of the Children of the Forest and they prevailed against the Long Night, and that's precisely the point, the humanity united against greater enemies and prevailing by fighting together.
I recomend you to read @trinuviel series about TPTWP & Azhor Ahai.

Anyone remember what happened to that clip of Game of Thrones ending the exact same way only it was Daenerys that was pregnant with Jon's baby(their son/daughter is born sometime after the battle against the night king where Daenerys and Jon gain respect with how many walkers they killed to protect the North)and Cersei is the evil queen that explodes the Entire Kingdom once she realizes she is going to lose to Daenerys. I can't find it.
I also would have added, Varys & Tyrion run away to protect Azhor Ahai(Jon& Daenerys baby)from Cersei, as well as the Dragon egg Drogon laid before his death.
Sansa agreeing to fight Daenerys war as Daenerys is sacrificing her dragons to fight their Northern war, and Daenerys makes her an independent kingdom, just like the Yara of the iron Islands they made a mutual agreement. They become besties & they like each other and make fun of Jon's height.
Also Arya is the one that kills Cersei when she tries to run away (fron what she did to the kingdom and Arya's brother/daenerys) pretending to be Jaime because he is the one that dies protecting Bran (but no one;but Arya knows this as she was also there with bran and she still the one that kills the Night King), the hound finally kills the mountain ending him by throwing him in fire, and Theon leads the battle proving himself to be Brave enough to lead the army, and saves Yara of the Iron Islands and becomes her hand as she leads the Ironborn. Bran becomes king; but only to protect Jon's baby until she/he is fully grown enough to lead and he is in charge of killing all their enemies until he/she can lead again since he(Bran) had said he doesn't want to be king. After he is done he reveals the truth about Jon and Daenerys and their baby, crowns him/her and he sails east to kill the remaining enemies Daenerys left in Slaver's Bay and Mereen to protect his niece/nephew and assure Azhor Ahai is safe. Daddavos, Tyrion, and Varys are part of his/her council and they decide not to hatch the Dragon egg until Azor Ahai is ready to lead.
Missandei and Greyworm free the armies to live where they chose as long as they live life as righteously as she wanted without any reaving, raping, slaving, and killing. Greyworm and Missandei sail to Naath to help whoever they can with the remaining soldiers and they swear to never forget their queen. The end.

guys idk if I’m being stupid but like… I think in the context of grammar, I feel like ‘the prince who was promised’ would make more sense as a prediction of the future if it was ‘the prince who IS promised’. this is leading me to believe that ‘was’ could be referring to ‘used to be’ as opposed to ‘promised already/promised a long time go’. If we put it into the context of ‘the prince who used to be promised’ I think it makes a lot of sense for Dany/Jon’s futures in the asoiaf books. Dany would be the prince who WAS promised, to her, to everyone, by fate, that she is supposed to stop the long night - and it really being Jon who is the last hero/azhor ahai and her being nissa nissa almost feels like a foreboding prophecy for dany (it was promised to her that she would be Azor Ahai) and a warning regarding her fate.
or im just going insane waiting for winds. both are possible. plus, prophecies about the targaryens always feels like warnings to them, less so ‘you’re gonna do this awesome thing’’ and more so ‘your home is going to blow up’

Hot take: it may be for the better that GRRM is never finishing aSoIaF because there is no way the payoff for the cool magic stuff he’s set up (Azhor Ahai and Lightbringer, the Long Night, whatever tf was up with the prophecies Rhaegar followed) will be remotely as awesome as fan theories have been

i like how prophetic dreams and prophecies in itself different from visions are interpreted in different ways and in diff directions but also by different people for eg stannis and Mel, Rhaegar and dany or other targaryen kings. Jojen and bran, Cersei and Maggy etc...
Melisandre usually tumbles and makes mistakes she sees what she sees but not exactly she wants to see what should be accurate considering how her major azhor ahai is stannis, was a mistake and an error. However recently we know she sees snow in flames. jon. but im skeptical about him being prince that was promised or AA, when you have....daenerys right here. But she still commits mistakes idk maybe rh'ollor is lil unhinged and is messing with her, but no. i think she is prone to change and her prophecies change too. Mel doesn't stick up to one interpretation and pretty sure will leave stannis in long run if she believes who is AA to her.
But stannis, is stubborn and crude. As a skeptic and well part atheist, he took her words and religious ventures too seriously and has attached with the prophecy too vehemently as if he has to be AA at any cost not knowing prophecy can't matter in the end even, but its so funny to me he risked most of the stuff for red priestess who just came to her and is like, "ight u be the king cuz u have targaryen blood"
Jojen reeds dreams are like mostly about starks and wolves and how they will come back again and when bran and others ask him if what he sees can be changed, he says no. which means him seeing something can be finalized testament or something that will happen one way or other since starks coming back or wolves coming back, is like obvious thing since they have their might broken. Bran is currently well being trained by bloodraven so his views weren't yet in first books but evolved with time.
And my fav part is cersei's prophecy of valonqar and maggy. She is destined or was to marry king not prince and she would have 3 children while robert 16 bastards, and we never knew and it was strange to me how lannisters never acquired or were even mildly amused by idea of magic all the way but cersei going to a witch when she was in casterly rock with her companions was like a major twist for me since i never assumed her to be like that, however she knows her fate will end by valonqar and a young more beautiful queen (def dany) will replace her and take what she holds dear. However cersei's reaction to this prophecy when she herself asks witch to tell her fortune is volatile. She takes to anger and resists it from coming true. She even shapes her life and everything according to not letting the prophecy come true but it follows her to in a way that she does marry robert and has 3 children by incestuous relationship. At the very best however, she avoids it because she hates the truth of it. She steers away from it.
Rhaegar is a different matter to me. I like how he was born as melancholic and amidst grief during tragedy of summerhal and well overall, for me had tragic demise but he took the prophecy too serious differently than stannis even. He made sure to follow and correct it and apply it aptly on his marital life and social life. He even kind of got too carried away and dreamy with it that he didn't himself realise the situation changing with Robert's rebellion and everything happening. Rhaegar however we knew was kind of intellectual and sensual personality so maybe he took the targaryen grief of years of no dragons too seriously too. And in the end well...prophecy really didn't work for him and most of his actions failed him and those around.
Dany is so different in this regards tbh. She is part of two prophecies for me the 'prince that was promised' and AZHOR AHAI. and the last 'younger more beautiful queen'. I mean it's startling. Unlike her brother and even old ancestors of her blood, she intrinsically is tied to so many of these prophetic verses and proves on so many occasions especially after birth of dragons that she indeed can be Azhor Ahai or maybe - the best candidates for her. She doesn't really is obsessed with it or neither is she forcing someone to tell her fate like cersei and then meet the rejection with rudeness infact she kind of subverts expectations one has of glaring prophecy which everyone imagines to be a prince...or a man. But dany really isn't a man lol and neither a prince. Aemon did say too the translated prophecy can have error too and it was not really prince who is promised but could be well...princess if that's even the correct term. Her birth of dragons explained in numerous posts and metas is so phenomenal and makes her ever so wonderful and magical than her all ancestors who died in all tragic ways because they made the prophecies too tied to their lives and were utterly obsessed with it. They were reminiscing over grief of dragons but daenerys bought dragons that to, three back to world after stepping into drogo's pyre and performing a ritual she herself only realised in the end what she was doing and thanks to well MMD. She realized later but still did she realise how the stone eggs did exudate warmth and called to her. Im pretty sure all other targayens and their expectations and experiences were all in vain or went down drain. Dany on the other hand independently alone and on her own without help of anyone but only subtly joining clues and hints, sorted out and stitched the importance and relevance of it. The dragons and ritual. It was anyways a one time magical event too, no wonder her bringing dragons to world is written as " music of dragons" and night came alive with it in AGOT. (interesting that grrm says music of dragons and well rhaegar also liked playing sad music at ruins of summerhall, an emo prince yea)
And Daenerys doesn't really is tied herself to prophecy but most of the prophecies are tied to her. The Younger More Beautiful Queen one indicates at her..tbh and really no one including cersei and her knows about it. The AzAhai one also points to her because she was born in salts of dragonstone and smoke refers to birth of dragons and cracking of sound and smoke during pyre. The sword forged from flame can obv be pointed to drogon whose birth is like fire made flesh of a dragon hence that, and also when Xaro X Daxos says, of her dragons 'as flaming sword'.
but not getting into details of AA as dany because again, there are a lot of essays to it.
I just pointed out how stannis makes prophecy his and forced a little on people, how jojen trains bran too in a way and he still takes time to learn this green visions thing, cersei staggers away from it and damages people to not fulfill it or prevent it from engulfing her...but dany has no idea yet as far of any prophecy only a dream, and house of undying visions which she herself doesnt yet believe all so much we rlly dont know, yet she fulfills def 2/3 prophecies.

Scandal Westeros | A Royal Prick
When Sarella goes looking for Sam in his basement office, she’s unprepared for the scene that unfolds.
In the hours since the Taena drama died down, Jon and Obara had returned to the office with her cell phone and laptop in hand. After confirming with Dragonstone that the matter was settled, Sarella stepped out for a few hours. It would take that long for a member of the Royal Guard to get to Oldtown and she wanted to pick up something for Sam, knowing the day had been rough on him. No matter how well he hid it.
She doesn’t expect to hear loud moans as she descends the stairs to the basement. Nor does she expect to find Nym, Obara, and Jon watching a naked Prince Viserys Targaryen lift and drop a moaning Taena Merryweather on what appears to be a rather sizeable…
“Seriously?” she scolds.
Usually, that tone would make them snap to attention, but Jon and her sisters remain riveted to the screen where Viserys has now tossed Taena on the bed, flipped her over by her ankles, and wrapped her black hair around his pale hand like a horse rein.
“He’s such a little shit,” Obara says. “Never would have guessed...”
Nym, who actually has a bag of microwave popcorn in her lap, turns her head sideways to follow the action as the Prince guides Taena into another position. “No wonder he can’t keep it to himself. Slinging a cock like that is a community service.”
“She takes it like a champ, too,” Jon adds. “I guess those yoga pants she wears aren’t just for show.”
She shouldn’t watch. And yet…
Sarella’s eyes stay on the Prince’s lithe body. “Where’s Sam?”
Obara goes for a handful of Nym’s popcorn. “Your new girl took him to the Quill and Tankard.”
She’ll have to leave the gift she picked up—a pristine first edition of his favorite comic, Azhor Ahai and the Long Night, Vol. 1—on his desk later.
That’s Sarella’s last thought before watching the grand finale of Viserys dislodging from Taena’s quivering body and spending his seed on the small of her back.
For reasons she won’t understand later, she looks at his face instead of down at the action and sees his head thrown back and eyes closed tight, shoulders pumping as he strokes himself to completion with a name on his lips that makes no sound.
“Rhaenys.”
Seven hells.
“Turn it off.”

my take on why the eighth season of got sucks
this will not be kind to d&d, nor will it support the prospect of daenerys going “mad,” so if you disagree with either of those, keep scrolling because you will not change my mind. i can only speak in context of the show.
to make a very long story short, the season sucks because there was too much focus on the iron throne and not on the underlying story, the lord of light. the mvp was supposed to be r’hllor and the writers absolutely trashed it. in the beginning of the show, the focus was all about the throne, and the lord of light narrative wasn’t even present, besides daenerys at the end bringing back dragons within a pyre. the way the show should have worked, is that in this season, the presence—or “idea”—of the throne should have faded and the lord of light’s “mission” should have taken center stage. throughout the show, though it’s not prominent, the audience gets hints and subtle messages.
though melisandre’s goals shifted to helping fight against the “others,” kinvara and the other red priestesses were focused on daenerys, and always having a presence amongst the lowborn. why? because the end goal of this show was always supposed to be liberation. not about getting the throne, but dismantling the throne—breaking the wheel.
that’s why daenerys had a slow build-up to coming back to westeros, while the lords and ladies fought with one another. that’s why jon was so hellbent on the war against the night king: a villain that would have definitely shackled humanity and not liberated them. jon should have been azhor ahai and daenerys should have not gone “mad,” she should have won, lived and repaid her allyship with the red priestesses. her speech in the last episode, was just a small sliver of reminiscence of the earlier seasons. to remake the world is what should have happened, ideally with the real jon and daenerys and not the posers we were handed this season.
you don’t have to agree with me, and i’m not even going to explain this fully because i’m sure people will disregard all of this and we’re not even three paragraphs into explaining, but rewatch some scenes of the show with this in mind. the evidence is there, this is along the lines of what should have happened, it brings the main plotlines together and joins them, it fulfills the story, d&d take some notes for next time

It had been six months since he'd gotten married. Married to a beautiful woman from his own history, his Houses past. She had brought back a dragon and so did his sister, Daenerys. The dragon eggs from Essos had been a gift to the princess and from those eggs, three more dragons hatched.
Rhaegar wondered if his wife's dragon would ever produce a clutch or if it could. The Prince of Dragonstone entered his wife's chambers when he heard her call for him to come in and he smiled when he saw her. Going over to the Targaryen Princess and placing a kiss on the side of the cheek.
"The council has agreed that I shall take over as King and my father will be set aside" he informed Visneya. "The Lord's that felt comfortable in my father's madness have decided a dragons fire is more dangerous then the Mad Kings fre." Rhaegar had already made sure his mother and siblings would be safe and cared for while his father was disposed of and placed at Dragonstone for safe keeping with minimal staff. Rhaegar was to be crowned King in a fortnite and alongside him, Visneya as his Queen.
"Visenya, have you had any dreams?" He asked wondering if his vivid dreams were to be something more then a mere second thought after waking. "Like...prophectical in content?" He sat down on the side of the her bed and sighed wondering if he shouldn't bother her with such things.
"I've been having some. Of the Prince that was Promised. Of myths and old enemies of man, the Others. The Long night and Azhor Ahai." He'd been pouring over the readings he could find, every scrap of information. It's why he procured his sister's dragon eggs for her nameday. It's why he ordered literature around these subjects brought to him from all over the known world. "I've been wondering if these are to come sooner rather then later or if they won't ever happen again in our time"

{ The Power That Binds } | courage need not be remembered for it is never forgotten |
The legend goes that Azhor Ahai and Nissa Nissa defeated the Night King together. Azhor Ahai wielded Lightbringer, the sword the seals the darkness. Nissa Nissa held the blood of the old gods which sealed the Night King away for 10,000 years. The eldest daughter in the Stark line was the one to be able to fully harness the sealing power.
Ever since she was a small child, Sansa was told that she was important. When she was six, it became apparent why. Omens for the Night King had been seen and it was her job to seal him away again. Her mother told her to focus, harness the sealing power that the old gods blood that flowed through her veins gave her. She began her training then, praying to the old gods. It wasn’t long after that her father died suddenly at the hands of the Lannisters.
However, no matter Sansa’s devotion she struggled with unlocking that power. Frustrated and isolated from her siblings, Sansa dove into the research of dragonglass, valyrian steel and the legendary sword Lightbringer. Her mother always scolded her for spending too much time in books rather than attempting to harness the power that they so desperately needed. The burden only continued to grow on her shoulders.
When her anointed knight was able to pull Lightbringer from the stone and wield it, Sansa grew to dislike them as they were a reminder of her own failures. When news comes that wights and Others have been seen beyond the Wall. Sansa’s need to unlock her power becomes much more dire. The entire world depended on it.
Subverse: The Night King is stronger than they anticipated. All of their champions who guided their divine weapons were killed. Sansa had yet to unlock her sealing power and her annointed knight was on their last leg. At the last moment, when the hero’s life seems to be at its end, Sansa’s power unlocks when she puts herself between the hero. The wights and Others around her shatter. Still, it’s too little too late. Her hero is placed in the weirwood tree to heal over the years while Sansa goes to face the Night King alone. She’s able to seal him away for now, but the hero would need to awake to strike the final blow.
This verse is based on the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game.
Some of the details from ASOIAF have been bent to closer resemble BOTW:
Azhor Ahai and Nissa Nissa are considered to be of northern decent as is the Night King, so the North holds the legends closer than the rest of the kingdom. Their blood is passed down through the Starks.
Lightbringer does not need to be tempered, only pull from a stone after the hero passes the test set by the old gods.
Azhor Ahai and Nissa Nissa don’t have to be lovers as Zelda and Link are friends first and lovers second, opening this up to platonic pairings.
The hero in this verse that wields Lightbringer is left ambiguous so that anyone can be the hero. There is no limit to who it can be.

Got 7x06 Lord Fucking Snow King In DAA Norf - Fucking up yet again
Viserys - a fuck up in waking life.
Viserion - a fuck up in his second life.
Like c’mon dude....Dany had them 3/0 and now she lost Dorne, she lost Highgarden, she lost fucking Viserion.
I swear my hate for Jon Snow has been growing since earlier seasons. It culminated in the Battle of the Bastards (his complete incompetence and letting his men die for no reason) and now this STUPID ass idea to go capture a wight in the middle of winter with what, 13 men? He’s the only one with a Valerian sword and volunteered it to the stone man who gave it back because HE DOES NOT FUCKING DESERVE IT AND HIS FATHER KIND OF DISOWNED HIM in book and show.
Again Jon is looking around him, watching randos and men die....and again a white knight (Dany is literally wearing an all white power suit) comes and saves his candy ass but he wants to be noble and because he’s being noble Viserion is targeted and dies.
Then Benjen volunteers suicide to save his candy ass.
Now next episode he’s gonna have some #boatsex with the mother of dragons who will magically be fertile and Azhor Ahai will plant his seed that will be the stallion that mounts the world™
I swear I can’t with this fucking show. It has become a literal live action fanfic.
The men go for a hiking day trip outside the wall jerking each other off about previous plotlines, witty banter, our cringy line of the episode a la Tourmound saying he “likes dick”, the hound calling a many flakes of snow and wight walkers assorted cunts.
In addition to winning the Westerosi all kingdom olympics for rowing Gendry is also the next Usain Bolt.
Thoros of Myr actually fucking died in his sleep peacefully like a cunt. No goodbye, nothing.
Cersei is suddenly utilizing the little bird/spy network vacuum of power that Varys and Little Finger left behind seasons ago that has never been spoke about until now.
People are still cool with Cersei roasting everyone at the Sept of Baelor.
Arya’s personality this episode was pure psychotic. She looks less like she supports Jon’s rule and more like she’s just super salty Sansa wants nice things and is the literal savior and rightful heir to Winterfell over their bastard cousin who is about to go fuck his Aunt on a boat.
Brienne suddenly is urging Sansa to go to Kings Landing because she doesn’t trust Littlefinger when Brienne knows Sansa would rather die than go back there and has never questioned her decisions before?
like...........can we fucking try with this plot? This is why we are rushing this season? A day trip to the Lands of Always Winter IN FUCKING WINTER to bring back a Wight so Cersei can kinda believe them before her and Euron betray them and then Euron betrays them all?
Why did Gendry leave his war hammer? He suddenly really loves his dear old whoring dad and suddenly likes hammers. He probably spent a many night hammering that thing out into a hammer...lmao I’m sorry this is all so damn stupid and convoluted.
Fuck you Jon Snow. Fuck you Viserion. Fuck you D&D for this extended fanfic. Next you’ll tell me Mel will come back from Volantis and name Ghost Azor Ahai. I’m sure he’s off screen because he’s the prince that was promised and needs to gather his forces and join with his sister Nymeria in the Riverlands to consolidate power.
Gods help us all. It’s going to be a long winter. Why were the leaks right. Why were they all right. HBO did you even try?
