Kyle x Aurora Somnacanth rider male reader oneshot romantic relationship
( Sorry for not adding it the idea just suddenly appeared in my head 😓) reader also has a siren like voice and use it to hypnotize and distract enemies the reason why their called "The Sirens"
Sure, and it's okay 💙😊
Kyle X Aurora Somnacanth Rider Male Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Kyle had been in a relationship for a very long time, and you guys always hunt together along with your monstie, an Aurora Somnacanth. Somnacanths and Aurora Somnacanths are very rare for Riders to obtain and have as monsties, but you were very lucky to come across an Aurora Somnacanth egg a few months ago.
Not only do you have an Aurora Somnacanth in your disposal, you also have an ability to use your voice as a siren to lure monsters. Your voice is out of this world and it makes your hunts ten times better and easier.
Kyle admires your special ability and he gives you some nicknames because of it. Due to your ability, you and your monstie have earned the reputation of being called "The Sirens," but in a good way.

Picture this: I desperately want to play some MH after drawing all morning, but my parents want to go out and have some ice cream (which I do want); I already have my clothes on so all I have to do is wait.
After a bit of debating I turn my switch on, just one quick hunt. I look at my character, he's in a pretty powerful rakna HH set that I tested the other day, plus my optimized sleep n para gatling dogs. Nice.
I look at some follower quests that I still haven't completed, one jumps out; Misuzune and Auroracanth, one is weak to fire and the other to being bonked on the head with slugger lv3. Perfect.
I choose Hinoa and Minoto to accompany me, I give Minoto HH as well; I eat my dango, slugger activates but I don't get booster, oh well.
Start of the quest, I rush at Magnamalo to start the mizu fight with a mounter punisher-induced topple. After that is carnage, Mizu spends the next 3-4 minutes wringing in agony on the floor, he gets up maybe once; I vaguely realize I forgot to drink my buffs, but no matter, I need to save resources for the update anyway. The blue icon pops up on the screen, I cap the monster to save time.
Off to the last target we go, I start the fight with a topple again, this time via marionette spider; then the massacre commences again.
Aurora puts up more resistance than Mizu, but for the most part she spends the fight heavily concussed on the floor. I mess up a wake up hit, but it doesn't matter, the blue icon soon shows up again and the quest is over.
I glance at the quest timer, 9 min and a few seconds, just as my parents finish getting ready to go out; I save the game and turn off my switch.
So now I eat my ice cream with the satisfaction of having managed to squeeze a little bit of game progression while also not taking so long that I get yelled at.

Sᴀɴᴅ ᴀɴᴅ Bʟᴏᴏᴅ.
Sand Barioths are the mounts of seasoned Lamure warriors. One has to prove their fortitude, endurance, and lethality to gain the right to bond with such a highly-respected ally, and once formed, that link will never fracture.
Lamure's vast expanses are highly unforgiving and volatile- as such, a remote tribe housed on the edge of the Sadona Barrens has long known that beasts designed for speed and agility serve far better in navigating their home.
These wyverns are regarded as companions of the utmost honour, and to see one daubed in its Rider's paint is to witness an ancient partnership that has persisted for countless generations.
↠ Sand Barioth is an extremely underrated subspecies, in my opinion. Most of MonHun's subspecies feel a little too much like reskins or are too similar to their predecessors- Green Nargacuga, Pink Rathian & Aurora Somnacanth come to mind, in particular. Sand Barioth breaks the species mold, placing the monster in the antithesis of its domain- it's a really fun, flashy and bold concept.
In terms of inspiration here, I based both lore and visuals on the ethnic Karo people of Ethiopia. Their daily practise of body-painting is really beautiful, and so strikingly captures the human experiences of creativity and self-expression.
Be sure to check out my other Monster Hunter illustrations!

i recently got the Ice Werewolf hunting horn in sunbreak. i only dabble in horning, so i can't fully tell, but is that thing as op as it seems?
tl;dr - It's pretty damn good. Better in multiplayer.
Something to keep in mind with "Sunbreak" is that elemental damage Hunting Horn is not only viable, in some cases it's straight up optimal. It's a brave new world we live in now... The one Wirebug move (don't remember what it's called) that adds little sonic bursts to all your attacks also has a pretty hefty elemental damage modifier (along with extra stun/exhaust/part break/a small but of raw chip damage), alongside the fact that Bead of Resonance can give Attack Up buffs with ANY Horn, alongside the fact that we can swap between two different move sets on the fly, opens up A LOT in terms of which Horns are good to use.
Going off damage numbers entirely, & considering the type of skills people like to run, Aurora Somnacanth tends to be the best pick if you're fine playing with white sharpness. Health Regen is extremely valuable (Dragonheart meta is dead!! Healing songs are good in this game!!), Stun Resistance can help you avoid sticky situations sometimes, and Stamina Recovery Up isn't huge for us but can be nice for others.
Lunagaron Hunting Horn's damage is (very slightly!!! not massively!!! I think the math works out to like 5% from what I read) lower than Auroracanth's, unless you're fighting something with weaker elemental hitzones, in which case the damage is even-to-better. Lunagaron's song list, however, is real nice to have in multiplayer - Sharpness Regeneration and Elemental Attack Boost (alongside Attack Up from Bead of Resonance) means you & your buds can just keep up maximum aggression & do more damage all the while. Stamina Recovery Up is also much more useful if you've got something like Dual Blades or a jump-happy Insect Glaive in the party.
Here's a document that goes over some baseline stuff for Hunting Horn specifically: https://3geek14.gitlab.io/horn-pub-hh-builds/
There's also a link in the document to a Discord server where people get a lot more in-depth with their analysis, if you're a numbers pervert like me & like reading the hows and whys of Video Game Math. I don't spend a lot of time looking at it so I can't vouch for the quality of people there. You know how it can be with Gamer Hot Spots sometimes. Hopefully there ain't anything too egregious there.

Fae Dragons
The dragonbreath of fae dragons are able to send messages across long distances (MLP:FIM ref), their breath attacks come in much more variety of colors because fae dragons don't generally by default tend to have a specific element in the traditional sense. Rather, their main element is magic & thus their flames are the color of their magical auras. They also excel at dracomancy, crystomancy, & much more. Very few types of magic are barred from them unless it takes a specific biology or alignment.
Fae dragons are especially connected to fae & dragon magics as fae dragons are the dragon equivalent to fairies. They are the descendants of dragons who moved to the Fae Realm & have adapted to living there. Much like how high-elves are humans who've adapted to live in the Fae Realm.
They are much smaller & less physically strong or durable than most other dragons, but they make up for it with their magical prowess. They're a lot like the wizards or sorcerers of the dragon world.
Fae dragon, however, is only one taxonomic class lower than actual draconus, therefore for every normal breed of dragon, their is a fae equivalent.
A branch of dragon below even that, within the Fae draconus are those referred to as Floral Dragons.
So, for every aurora somnacanth, there is a fae aurora somnacanth.
At the same time, there are high-fae dragons which are a breed of dragon that has fully integrated itself to the land of the fae & thus have the greatest potential for magic.
This, however, leaves them being much more frail than all other dragons. The most fragile in fact. (Though, admittedly, still less fragile than most humans.)
These dragons are unique in that they are able to use all forms of elemental magies whenever they wish so long as they've trained to use it. However, this results in them not having the same connection to the primal elements that other dragons do & thus a high-fae dragon using pyroturgy will not have as much firepower as a true fire dragon.
Their power is in their versatility. At the same time, they can run the risk of becoming a jack-of-all-trade, but master-of-none. Or even becoming a bit of a glass canon.
It really depends on their personal choices whether they wish to have as many options as possible or really focus on a specific list of magical styles of their choosing.
I'm not sure whether to make fae magic effective against dragons in reference to Pokémon or not.
I'll ask for opinions & think about it.
