Also I am VINDICATED that literally all bosses and p.e.s at my new job has said to me "wow you're good at this. This is the fastest anyone has picked this up. You'll advance fast if you actually stay here" Because I can spot design flaws that take like idk engineering sense? I just know what kinds of things are important in design.

So vindicated that I'm a good engineer. Vindicated that I held that company together. They can keep it going (because I set them up to be able to do that) but there is nothing to hold them together. Just stumbled upon a st*y k*dz concrt (2023 i think) on tv and ig it was time for solo perfs bc there was 1 one member on stage singing,(vocals, not rap) standing with a mic stand (so there wasnt any dance or jumping, it was a loud ballad) singing OFF KEY the ENTIRE TIME without any backing vocals...

While I do think in general Sam & Dean both know each other very well because you know. they're siblings who've known each other their whole lives often to a codependent degree. I think that in terms of where they lack knowledge Sam just has like less raw details of Dean from childhood by nature of Dean trying not to be as vulnerable and also just Dean being older. Like he didn't even know Dean carried him out of the fire for example, or that monsters were real, but the ways these things impacted Dean he was noticing and working with for years.

Meanwhile for Dean I think the issue comes down to assuming he understands Sam and pigeonholing him and then – when he's too emotional – missing him. Which I personally find more significant in terms of feeling known myself, but I do think when Dean's more stable this is far less true. And Dean has Sam memorised far more than necessary for a healthy close relationship.

But these things become somewhat moot considering Dean literally does not know what happened to Sam in Hell & Sam will always see far too much the best in Dean while also assuming he himself deserves the worst. So ironically they see each other clearly worse as we see them on into the show spending all their time together.

Our personal pet theory for Bug Fables is that names are a relatively recent development, in the grand scheme of things. Sure, they're Something To Call Someone and a Unique Identifier and so on, but they're bugs - they can already tell each other apart by scent, they don't need verbal names to write or call each other by. It's a last-hundred-years-or-so development, and one that not everyone has.

Actually really pissed that discourse around stereotyping and bad writing in media turned into "does this character have X,Y,Z traits? Is this character an admirable human being? Are they the good guy?" instead of promoting actual good writing and what that entails.

It's not about the presence of individual traits! It's about if the minority character is treated as a complex human being with believable motivations and who is looked at with an empathetic eye by the story!

If you personally don't like certain traits to be present in a character that has your identity, you have a right to do that, but it's not criticism, it's your opinion. You know what your dislike doesn't do? Make that character a stereotype! Because a stereotype isn't a character with traits commonly assigned to them, it's a character who isn't written as a fully fleshed human being save for those traits. The character isn't treated with dignity by the author because the author does not give them a character.

If they are fully fleshed out and complex with understandable motivations then? They aren't a stereotype. Because people like that exist in real life, and you viewing them as a stereotype says more about you than it does about them.

You know, I think the reason I've never been big on the idea of Abigail not actually being Abigail is because it's just so much more fun and fucked up if it Is Abigail and it's partly because of the whole watching your twin die over and over, but it's also because holy shit does Wendy say some shit that sucks so bad to say when Abby is literally Right Next To Him.
