Hey all! Small quick boundary check. I really appreciate the support I’ve been given for my work thus far, and I’m ok with people reposting my art to other sites (as long as you see my signiture somewhere on the image), I just ask that you please ask permission before doing so and of course always give proper credit. This is simply just to avoid giving me a heart attack when find my art somewhere I don’t remember putting it (but its also really important etiquette to follow with any other creator online as well - so please know to do this when interacting with anyone else’s work online too). Additionally, anyone is 100% allowed to make art based off my concepts/designs, still give credit as usual and I would literally beg you to @ me so I can see it. I’m also ok with my art being used for pfp’s, you don’t need to ask me permission for that so long as you include credit somewhere (but please do ask permission from any other artist until stated otherwise, its an important boundary for a lot of people!) I apologize for not stating that anywhere sooner, definitely should’ve done that. Thank you!
Anyways hi I’m Pedia, I mostly make comics but every now and then I crank out an impulse animatic that I made probably when I was supposed to be studying for a test because I lack any and all impulse control.
Please feel free to shoot anything you want into my askbox. As long as its not rude or innapropriate, I promise I don’t mind. No guarantees I’ll accept requests or even all questions, but I never mind getting them! Just know I’m really really slow when it comes to answering at times, so I’m sorry if you end up having to wait a few weeks, it might be because I’m hellbent on responding with art but am still trying to find the time to make one. Honestly if you just send your personal headcannons theres like a 70% chance its going to generate a mental image and I’m going to want to draw it

We're ready for you to join The Creative Lounge Discord Community!
Community rules & guidelines are below the cut for anyone who'd like to preview them before joining.
Members must be at least 18 years old.
The Creative Lounge Community Invite
The Creative Lounge is a Discord community of creators and lovers of different genres, crafts, and talents that, together, foster a positive creative environment.
A good portion of this community is dedicated to content creators who work with different mediums. That's by design. We inspire one another and often collaborate. I hope The Lounge makes it easier to do both!
There's also room in here to play. I'm arranging the ability to stream art and video games in here, as well as host virtual tabletop games (these adventures are fantastic fodder for art, animation, stories, and audio works)!
Art and storytelling have been part of the human experience since our beginnings. They withstand disease, war, natural and unnatural catastrophes, and most impressively, time. Be proud of what you contribute.
Community Rules & Guidelines:
Rule #1: Be Aware. This is a shared space. You must be at least 18 years old to join this server. Individuals from all places and all walks of life congregate here. The sharing of personal information (name, location, etc.) is discouraged. Don't share personal images of anyone under the age of 18.
Rule #2: Be Respectful. Any disputes between members ought to be resolved privately. Disruptive behavior is not tolerated! No racism, sexism, hate speech, trolling, abuse, spam, picking fights, harassment, etc. Direct and indirect threats towards any other person are strictly prohibited and will incur an instant ban. Avoid discussing sensitive topics (examples: religion, politics). Try to keep the conversation relevant to the channel you are in. This is a multi-fandom, multi-shipping community. Hate directed at fandoms, characters, or ships is not allowed. While age gap ships are welcome, teacher/student ships are not (if characters are portrayed as teacher and student in canon material, do not share fanworks of those ships here). Don't steal content or ideas. Do not repost or share anything found here without the permission of that content's creator. When sharing content by others, they must be credited in your post. When sharing links to your content, ensure that it is thoroughly tagged in your post. Any NSFW content should be shared in the gated channels. No underage (less than 18 years old) or incestuous NSFW content (in ANY form, regardless of how brief it may be) is allowed in this server. Use tags and spoilers (if applicable) for “trigger warning” kind of content. Examples of warning tags: -Graphic depictions of violence -Character death -Rape/non-con/dub-con (A/B/O works are considered dub-con) Other things such as phobias, body horror, blood, etc, should also be tagged. If you would tag it on AO3 or a social media post, tag it here. If unsure, ask a mod for help!
Rule #3: Be Creative. This space was made so that content creators may meet and interact with each other and with fans of transformative works. It is encouraged (but not mandatory) to participate in Lounge events and challenges. Use this space to discuss your content and ideas, share tips, ask questions, etc.
Rule #4: Be Kind. This is meant to be a community. Remember to encourage and support one another. Visible support such as reblogging/retweeting, commenting, giving kudos, etc., ought to be considered part of being a Lounger. Do not simply use this server (or myself) as your marketing platform. Self-promotion is not only encouraged, but expected. However, when you promote your work, stick around to throw some support and encouragement at others.

“lmao the guy emailed me to beg me to remove the copyright strikes (they split it into two videos so I alone am 2/3 of the way to their channel being taken down).” I’m sure you’re too polite to even consider this. But if I may ask, did you send them a picture of Nedzu laughing?
The truth is that they aren't worth responding to at all. If they actually gave a single shit about permission they would have found me and asked first, instead of crediting some fuckhead on fanfiction.net who reposted 37 stories without permission as the original creator of my work. And they can't claim ignorance because that person explicitly stated they were stealing these fics in their descriptions.
I did, however, make this:

i’m assuming the influx in brand new fandom blogs on here are coming from twitter since twitter is being stupid lately so let me just clear a couple things up for you guys
1. if you decide to repost any edits you see on here, GIVE CREDIT. it takes 2 seconds to tag the original creator and possibly give them more engagement
2. ask permission before doing so. i’m sure most people wouldn’t mind as long as you give credit, but it’s just common courtesy and some people may not want their stuff shared on other platforms.
3. do not repost fics and blurb and pretend like you wrote them. especially if they are nsfw. there’s a reason most writers on here only post on tumblr and ao3
4. if you like something, REBLOG. while we do appreciate you liking and commenting, reblogging helps us more than anything.
5. do NOT spam like anyone. it puts them at risk of getting shadowbanned, and i know multiple people that WILL block you if you start to do that.
6. be nice. everyone here is just trying to have a good time and if you see something that isn’t your cup of tea, just keep scrolling. no need to leave nasty comments or sent hateful anons.
7. have fun. with all of this being said, this is a safe space for everyone to enjoy cool new content and we’re really all just trying to have a silly goofy time and check out of reality for a moment.

GUESS WHAT WE GOT ANOTHER REPOSTER.
Tumblr media
You know, i came onto tumblr really excited to share this dumb doodle comic i did, now i just feel gross. Because this was reposted on an app i do not have an account for and I cannot contact them via there, I’m posting this here, so sorry to y’alls who just trying to have a good time, some people just have trouble being half-decent ig
I was not contacted by this person or asked in any way shape or form to use my art on their account. They do not credit or mention me (not that that would make this any better) and I do NOT want my stuff on tiktok.
To this person, this is your one and only warning:
Take. My. Art. Down. Now.
You have reposted my art, my mutuals art, my friends art and even my siblings art. What you are doing is harmful to me and to my friends. This is disgusting and disheartening ESPECIALLY seeing my art used in such a way that makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I am sick and tired of seeing this.
Think I’m being harsh? my art has been stolen and reposted and used without my permissions dozens of times and I am getting sick and tired of it. I want to be patient and kind but that’s kind of difficult when i see others not only harming me but also my friends livelihoods and incomes by stealing their art like this. And it is disgusting to see you use a minor’s art the way you did. To you it’s nothing more than a few minutes of posting and a couple of likes. To the artist you take it form it means the difference between a meal and going to bed hungry.
To anyone else who has reposted art in the past or are considering doing so now, DO NOT. It is harmful and cruel and while you’re laughing about the edits you use my art in, I, the creator, and sitting here sick to my stomach and considering never posting again because of your behaviour. I’ve got to wonder if you care about the people you consume content for at all? because from where I’m sitting you look selfish, inconsiderate and cruel.
If you want to support an artist, REBLOG THEIR STUFF. SHARE LINKS. TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS COOL COMIC AND LINK THEM BACK TO THE SOURCE. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES REPOST WITHOUT AN ARTISTS PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE. Ask if you’re wondering if you can use art in a tribute or edit. Credit them if they say yes. If they say no, be respectful of the creator you like and find something else to use or better yet, make your own.
to all my good followers, I love you guys, and thanks for having my back. I really appreciate your support and kindness as I create and deal with this kind of stuff.
I’m not sure what i’m going to do about this aside from this post, and i really don’t want to make an account for this, hopefully if the reposter has any decency they’ll take down all the stolen art and stop doing this and i won't have to.
For the time being, I’m not feeling real great, aside from being angry about this, I feel sick, so I won’t be sharing that comic I was going to post. I’m really sorry anyone who wanted to see my stuff is suffering from the actions of this person. Maybe I’ll feel better in a couple weeks or so, but for the time being I’m gonna continue being mostly offline.
~knox
Edit (July 3 2022): as of today the reposter has taken my art down and a lot of the other reposted work down and posted an apology to me and one other artist they reposted from (they reposted the work of at least six other artists) due to some other issues that I will not be specifying I have blocked them. Again, please don't harass this person if you recognize them. Or any reposters or people who demonstrate bad behavior. Letting people know reposting is harmful is one thing, but attacking them and rentelessly chasing them off their socials is another. Thanks guys hope you're all having a stellar day o7

Yin Yu Appreciation Week; Event Rules and Guidelines
Hello! This is the event guide for Yin Yu Appreciation Week 2024! Not everything is a hard and fast rule so read on if you would like to know more!
*Important: This event is being hosted by one individual on Tumblr and AO3. There are no plans to create event pages/accounts on other platforms but you are more than welcome to post there. If you are interested in creating one to run yourself, please DM this blog or @juicedpeachy for assistance.
This event is a FAN event. Meaning no money will be made from this event and no official TGCF accounts or individuals are involved with the event. All characters from Tian Guan Ci Fu belong to Moxiang Tongxiu.
Because this is a FAN event and the host does not stand to gain any income, please treat it as such. The host is putting this together for fun in their free time and any rude or entitled behavior will not be tolerated.
In addition, this guide is subject to change at any time.
RULES: Violation of these rules will primarily result in blocking and/or muting. In extreme cases, reporting to Tumblr and/or AO3 staff.
1. NO AI WORKS. Any use of artificial intelligence in the creation of your piece is not allowed. There are many other accessibility tools out there to support your creative process without stealing from others.
2. No reposting without permission and credit! Before sharing someone else’s work on another platform, please check with the creator and LINK their credentials and account to the post. If the creator says no—do not ask again. Reposting without permission is stealing.
3. Do not spam the tags! Spam in the suggested event tags will not be tolerated. Please refer to AO3 and Tumblr’s guidelines for definitions of spam.
4. While explicit, disturbing, or violent content is allowed, it must be tagged before posting. These terms include but are not limited to: rape/non-con, graphic violence, suicide, underage, incest, sexual content, homophobia, racism, transphobia, colorism, etc.
5. Including more specific tags for content that is not necessarily disturbing but may be unfavorable or controversial to some are highly encouraged but not a requirement. Specific tags can help to keep the community safe from personal triggers and help some to avoid content that they personally don’t agree with. This can include terms such as m-preg, gender-bend, whump, omegaverse, etc. If you don’t wish to tag specific terms, an umbrella term such as “potentially triggering/controversial material” or “creator chose not to use archive warnings” can suffice.
6. Creators are not at fault for content that may be triggering or controversial to you. It is your own job to curate and filter your online spaces and creators do not owe you anything. If you see something that you think should be tagged, you may kindly let the creator know but they are not responsible for your mental state and you must take care of yourself.
7. No harassment or hate speech of any kind is permitted. You will be reported for such behavior.
8. Ao3 and Tumblr’s rules should also be followed. Their guidelines are not necessarily listed here and you should visit their rules on your own to understand them.
Guide: These are not necessarily “rules” in the sense that you will be blocked, but they are a guide about how you should participate and behave for the event. However, your content may not be reblogged or included in any collections.
1. First and foremost, this event is to celebrate the character known as Yin Yu from Heaven Official’s Blessing. Content created for the event should focus on Yin Yu. Shipping is welcome but the priority should be Yin Yu.
2. Do not leave unwarranted criticism on others works.
3. Tag your work with #yinyuappreciation2024 or #yinyuappreciationweek if you wish to be featured on the tumblr page or the ao3 collection
This has been the general rules and guidelines for this event. Please check the FAQ for more info detailing the specifics of your creations and how to participate.

Fandom Etiquette Guide
Hello RA fandom! Over the past several months, there have been a few things I've seen repeated in this fandom that need addressing. I've had talks with multiple creators in this fandom, and there seems to be a general agreement that the RA fandom has a lack of understanding of fandom etiquette. As a fanartist, I'm going to focus on the general etiquette that comes with interacting with fanart, but a lot of this applies to fanfiction and other fan works as well. These are situations that as a fan, you ought to avoid. This fandom has already lost a few wonderful artists and creators because of how often these situations happen. It's up to us to keep our creators in the fandom and well cared for!
Situation 1: Stolen and Reposted Art
We all have seen art from our beloved artists that is uploaded to Instagram or Pinterest without permission. This steals credit from the artist, and means that potential fans never actually go to their account or interact with them. What a lot of people don't realize is that this applies to posting art in discord servers as well. You should always include a credit if you are posting art that you did not draw. Another prevalent problem found in this fandom is the issue of traced art. If you trace another artist's rendition of a character and post it as your own this is art theft. You can keep that tracing to yourself, and build your skill until you can post your own drawings.
Situation 2: "This doesn't look like___"
If an artist or author depicts a character in a way that doesn't match your mental image, your job is to walk away without leaving a comment. It is not kind or appropriate to tell artists that they have failed to depict the character accurately. If you would like the character to look different, it is your job to draw it. Never tell an artist or that their character doesn't look right.
Situation 3: Unsolicited Art Critique
Similar to the above situation, you should never tell an artist that their art is flawed or technically incorrect unless they have specifically come to you and asked for your input. Art critiques do not belong in the tumblr tags or any social media comments. Even if you see something that looks like an obvious fix, you should not point it out to the artist or author. This is one of the ground rules for any artistic or creative space. Unsolicited art critique is the #1 way to make sure an artist leaves a fandom and doesn't return.
Situation 4: The Never Reblogger
An artist or author's work can only be seen through the reblog function--this is the foundation of tumblr. If you appreciate your artist or fanfic author's work, you need to show that appreciation not just through likes, but through reblogging it to an appropriate blog! When artists or authors spend a lot of time on a work and it never receives anything but likes, they are likely to think that their work will be received better elsewhere. Reblogs show a creator that their work deserves to be shared! Reblogging works so well because it attaches the creator's name to the image you are sharing--it is not the same as reposting, which when you take the creator's blog off the post and upload just the artwork onto your own blog as its own post.
Conclusion
In all, this fandom is a wonderful place to create. I truly believe that we can make it even better, and make sure that our remaining artists and authors feel inspired and welcome to create here.

8 and 25 for the ask thing? 👀 I wanna know your Thots and Opinions
Thots and Opinonions for yuo my darlignie. i had a Day so i’m choosing violence on these responses too lets fuckin’ go
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
this is maybe more an activity derived from an opinion/mindset but i was thinking about it today: collecting fandom artwork off the internet and making twitter threads or tiktoks or youtube shorts or otherwise content out of it without credit or permission isn’t contributing to fandom in general or being a fandom content creator, it’s actually stealing :) there seems to be a shocking amount of people who think this kind of reposting is normal/acceptable and let me just say i have a blanket permissions statement on my ao3 but if i ever catch someone putting my stuff in a tiktok compilation without crediting me and letting me know as per the terms of my permissions i am coming to their house and dropping a fat turd in their microwave
now obviously if you have permission/the creator has given blanket permissions, and you link your sources, go absolutely hog fuckign’ wild!
25. common fandom complaint that you’re sick of hearing
ok this one ends up being more general fandom too, but any and all variants and extensions thereof belonging to the overarching complaint of “there just isn’t enough X art/fic!” shut the fuck up and write it/draw it yourself. “but i can’t write/draw” and you think your idol authors/artists just… could? it’s called practice babeygrill. pick up a pencil. youtube has some great free drawing tutorials. drop your fave authors a line and ask them what writing advice they can provide. “but im too busy” i write on my phone in the fckin’ shower while my conditioner sets. and in between teaching courses at university, and while my dinner’s cooking, and between sets at the gym, and on the train to work, and hobby time on the weekends. “but i’m too lazy” then Cope. thank u for coming to my ted talk*
*i do feel the need to disclaimer all of these are different from health, job, family, etc issues that do interfere with writing or drawing and to that i say: my love you are still an artist. a boat is still a boat even when docked at the shore
thank you for asking <3
feel the violence in ur bones

@maegor_the_cool on tiktok word-for-word stole your post about queen alysanne and is passing it off as their own in the comments on their most recent video. when i asked them about it, they claimed they didn't know it was yours and they got it from a forum, which doesn't really make it okay that they pretended it was their own words, and now they're claiming you gave them permission but i highly doubt it. just thought i'd let you know.
Oh, lovely! No, this person has never contacted me, I just looked through my entire inbox to make sure. I went and checked out the video and yep they literally took it verbatim. For reference y'all, here is the original post, which you can see I made on 2/28/2023. The TikTok creator got it from this post, which you can see was made on 3/7/2023, over a week after I made my original post. The forum poster is also passing off my content as their own in the comments on that thread. And here are screenshots from the TikTok posted 14 hours ago, since they turned sharing off:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...So I guess this is time to remind everyone that if you repost my stuff without my knowledge and without crediting me, you are doing so without my permission and I do not support it. I've said yes to 100% of the people who've asked me permission, so I don't understand why this seems to be a recurring issue. Also, a 1-minute Google search for this post would have turned up my blog, so it's not like this person couldn't find me because it was too hard. They just didn't check their source before using it. It's a shame, because I checked out the comments and we both 100% agree on the subject matter.
Here's a handy little guide to how to responsibly and respectfully repost my content:
Send me an ask with information about where to find the repost (usually platform + username will do). I'll say yes, but just please ask me so I know it's out there.
Credit me VISIBLY in the post. Please don't hide it somewhere, make it front and center the way an artist does with their watermark. In fact, putting my Tumblr URL in as a watermark is a super easy way to do this!
If you come across my content but you don't know it's me, but you for sure know it's not YOURS, maybe don't pretend it's yours? And maybe spend 1-2 minutes copying and pasting it into Google, which will lead you right to my blog.
If the content has been posted in multiple places, it's still really easy to find the original. Check the dates the posts were made and use the earliest post when crediting. For example, in this instance, the forum post was made a week after mine, which proves mine to be the original. Again, it only takes 1-2 minutes to check this using Google.
I really would prefer for them to delete the video and reupload it with proper credit, especially since it's been up for only 14 hours. There's a link here that explains how you can do this while saving the video so you don't have to re-format everything. I'd also prefer for the forum poster to acknowledge that they stole my content. But this is the Internet, so while I can ask for people to be honest and respectful about my content I unfortunately can't enforce it. :(
Edit: The TikTok creator reached out to me and they've re-uploaded the video with credit, which I appreciate! And they did get consent from the forum poster, just unfortunately that poster had stolen it from me. It's still not great that they didn't check their source, and that they didn't even credit the forum user at first. It's a good practice to copy and paste something into Google to check that you do indeed have the original source before reposting.
The forum user has now added a line to credit me at the top of his post. I'm still pissed at him for trying to get away with passing my words off as his own though. At least the TikTok creator asked the forum user first, but the forum user just stole my words without even asking me. What a man moment, to steal the credit for a woman's ideas 😒

Hey, I'm so sorry to send an ask like this but I actually found your works posted on Wattpad seemingly without your permission and I just wanted to let you know. I know not every author is okay with stuff like this so if you are one of them, I wanted to give you a heads up that someone is reposting your works. Your writing is lovely, and have a lovely day. xx
Hey lover!
The creator did not take credit for my work, so I am pleased about that. But, they did not ask for permission beforehand, so I am especially grateful to you for bringing this to my attention. I really appreciate this so much.
I strictly only upload on Tumblr, so if you find any of my work anywhere else it isn’t me!!
Again, thank you so much for telling me! You are so kind to look out for me. I truly have the best readers in the world :)
Love,
Nana <3

Hi! Sorry for the intrusion, first of all. I saw that your last post is recent and I also checked your notice about the response of your fanarts. However, I like to always ask to be sure and, who knows, the artist will give permission when there is a formal request.
I'm a fanfic designer on the Spirit Fanfics platform (I don't write on Wattpad) and most of my covers are there. I post some here, and the rest in my portfolio. I ask permission (when there is no prior notice) to artists who would like to use the art, and well, I came to do the same.
I'll understand perfectly if you still don't allow it. I'm a fan of the anime Boku no Hero and his art is splendid; I would love to use them on my covers, giving due credit to your profile (and also, if you prefer, your Tumblr link attached). I do not modify the arts in any way. I do not manipulate, modify the credits or any alterations that take their original format from the creator's strokes.
Well, I'm waiting! Thank you for your attention and congratulations on your work. It's magnificent.
Hi! I'm SO SORRY for the very late reply TT
Yes, you can, with the credit. And thanks for asking!
ps. I normally don't allow reposting, but if it's the case when the reposters come ask and it's not purely reposting without anything they do it by themselves, then I'm usually fine with that. :3

The Creative Lounge v2.0
While we continue to prepare the community for a full launch, I'll post a little more about what's different in this version.
There have been some changes to the community rules (beneath the cut). Please review them while you wait for The Creative Lounge to launch!
Tumblr media
Don't steal content, or ideas.

I have question for you as an artist and I would like to make it clear that this question is genuine because I really have doubts about this. Let's put it as if I found a fanart (like on Pinterest, for example) and it doesn't have the artist's signature, can I repost it without permission? Because I don't know who the artist is but I'm also not saying that the art is mine (and stealing something that isn't mine)... Like, can I do this? Or can I not do this? Or does it depend on the person? Like I said, it's not like I'm saying it's mine, I just don't know whose it is. Or I could put in the description "credits to the artist, I couldn't find who it is"? I really have doubts about this. I've seen a lot of art that I could post but didn't do because of this (and for reasons of respect too)... And also, in terms of knowing who the artist is, let's assume that I didn't ask for permission to post and still I posted, but giving due credit... Can I do that? I can't? Since you are an artist, I believe you would know how to answer. Thank you for reading, I'm sorry if I said something uncomfortable. I don't want to offend anyone at all, I just have these doubts largely because I don't want to put people in uncomfortable situations and such (of doing something without asking them). Thank you again.
Hi, Anon! I am glad that you are informing yourself on this matter first before reposting. And absolutely nothing you said was uncomfortable. <3
There's a long explanation under the cut but TL;DR this is less so a matter of art theft and rather one of copyright legalities. Since everybody has free reign over their copyright, the answer to your question will vary from artist to artist. That means, without permission from the artist, you can potentially be held liable regardless of whether or not you've added credit or specified that you are not the artist. However, it's unlikely you will ever face legal consequences for reposting.
I hope this answer was helpful to you, dear Anon! Have a great day :D
The long explanation:
First of all, the legal matters. Even if you are not "stealing" art in the traditional sense (ie. claiming it as your own), you might still be infringing on a person's copyright.
The act of reposting (not to be confused with reblogging) is essentially creating a copy of an already existing artwork, which is an exclusive right of the copyright owner and should not be infringed. In short, the creator of a piece has the right to decide who gets to use their work when, where, and how. There are a few legitimate exceptions to that, including fair use (which makes fan content possible in the first place).
Now, I didn't study copyright law and I do not know how many of the exclusive rights still apply in the case of fanart. However, if the artist does hold those rights to their work, the act of reposting makes you liable and the artist is technically able to sue you (the odds are close to zero though, I'd say). This applies regardless of whether or not you have credited the artist. Legally, you are required to ask permission.
There are many artists who have their exploitation rights outlined in a Q&A, their TOS, or in the image description. Some are fine with reposting. Others not. Some might want you to credit them. Others don't care. Some might only accept reposting to a different platform. Some might want you to properly @ or notify them.
Pinterest in particular is a massive copyright infringement platform at this point (not that the creators intended for this, but that's what's mostly happening on there). The uncredited artworks you are speaking of were most likely uploaded without permission already and are the copyright equivalent of "stolen goods".
With these legal matters out of the way, let's talk about internet culture! Because while, obviously, everybody should follow the law... the internet doesn't really operate like that, now does it?
I have seen many people reposting artworks saying they "don't know the artist" / "can't find the artist" and that they will add credit if somebody finds the artist or take the image down if requested. And so far, I haven't seen anybody losing their shit about that. But that is just my experience. However, some people might still feel uncomfortable with this practice. Artists in particular might even say it harms their exposure, discoverability, or profit.
Whether you think it's fine to repost an uncredited artwork or not, you should, at the very least, try to comply with the artist's wishes. That means using Google reverse image search and specifying that you do not own the image and would take down the image or give credit if the artist requests it.
Also, please don't harass anybody just for reposting something without credit. There are many people unaware of the exact rules surrounding copyright and never meant to harm or disrespect the artist, let alone infringe on a law.

Hey there!! I think i want to start making stimboards, but i personally cannot make gifs for multiple reasons, unless you know a good phone app or if IBIS can make gifs !!
Do you have any suggestions and tips ?
Are there blogs that don't mind using their GIFs as long as credit is somewhere ? Or is that typically frowned upon anyway?
I wanna be respectful so i understand if this means i cannot make stimboards until I'm able to make gifs myself :3
Hi!! The way I personally make my gifs is through using ezgif, and I’m fairly sure a bunch of other stimboard makers use this website too because it’s very convenient and free. Just submit the video you want to gif (not the whole thing, just a trimmed section of what u wanna gif), and it’ll convert it to a gif for you. Make sure to credit the original video if you post a gif of it, though, as it’s really important to give credit to the source
As for reusing gifs other people have made, pretty much all of the time it’s going to be okay to use someone’s gif in a stimboard, as long as credit it’s given. In fact, most people in the stim community on tumblr make gifs with the intent of them being used in stimboards. Some really great blogs that make a lot of original gifs to be used in boards that I go to a lot are @/talos-stims, @/heartnosekid, @/helium-stims, @/aliens-stim-too. There are a lot of other good ones too, but there are a few just to get you started.
You don’t have to specifically search a blog to find gifs though. Using the main tumblr search function you can type what you’re looking for, just include the tag “stim” in your search, and a lot of stuff will come up. You can use gifs that someone else has used in a stimboard, too. Just try your best to follow their sources to the original creator, and link it directly to there instead of the stimboard you took it from. A lot of stimboard blogs get deleted, which can lead to your link to the board becoming defunct in the future and that credit being lost for people down the line trying to source a gif.
If you’re making a gif of an animation or using a piece of art someone has drawn, that’s when you want to directly ask someone for permission. Most artists don’t mind as long as credit is given, but it’s important to check. If it’s a big artist that you can’t send asks to or contact in some way, just make sure to tag them in the post of the stimboard, that way if they can see you’ve reposted their art somewhere, and they can reach out to you if they don’t want it there.
The most important thing when it comes to all this is just to source your gifs. Copy the links in the notes app on your phone, a google doc, I personally do it on a discord channel, it doesn’t matter, just make sure you have SOME kind of credit to the gifs in your stimboard linked below your post. Don’t stress too much about messing up the first couple of times though, you get better at it and you can always go back and fix stuff later.
Hopefully this helps and wasn’t too much of a ramble. I’ve been thinking about making a sort of guide on my process of making boards actually, but haven’t gotten around to it since idk if anyone would be interested. Anyways that’s all
