The roaring sound of the engine could be heard from your room, distracting you from the book you were so comfortably reading. A smile crossed your features as you jumped out of bed and made your way outside.
The sun was starting to set with the golden hour on the horizon. The image of your brother’s back walking out the door welcomed you for just a moment before you decided to jump on him, immediately making him drop the small amount of luggage he was carrying.
“Since when do you leave without saying goodbye?” You laughed, perfectly koaling your way along his broad back.
The perks of being a little sister: you’re never too old or too heavy for piggyback rides from your siblings.
Luke groaned a laugh “Since I figured I could be free from your ass a few minutes longer”
You jumped off him “You don’t mean that”
“Of course not,” He smiled, pulling you into a hug. “I was going to go up to your room in a few minutes”
It was always like this when he had to leave. Ever since he started helping your father at work, he’s been gone most of the time, barely having any time for you. It was no secret that Luke was your favorite amongst your brothers, nor did he hide the fact that you were his favorite as well. It was just the way it is, having just two years distancing you of age he became your best friend from the beginning. And it was not like you were allowed many friends either - or rather, no one wanted to be your friend because of your last name.
Luke got that, everyone in the family did. But growing up made it harder for you than your brothers. Being the only girl in the family does that.
“How long are you leaving this time?”
Luke sighed “Dad said it’s only for a week, but you know him”
“So I should expect you by the end of the month” You answered him, trying to hide the hurt in your smile “Can’t you come back early? At least for a few days?”
“Why?” He asked with a puzzled expression “Is there something important happening or…?” You punched him, he laughed “Of course I’ll try to be here for your birthday, little thunder”
And if Luke said he would try, he meant it.
He kissed your forehead before a loud honk could echo throughout the house.
“Someone’s impatient” You rolled your eyes.
“We gotta love him” Luke shrugged, grabbing his luggage and giving you one last look “Take care, Y/N”
“You, too! I’ll see you when you get back”
“I’ll bring you a present!”
You stayed at the door until you watched the car disappear through the gates. Little did you know what would happen next.
*
The brain works in funny ways. Always reminding you of things you would rather forget.
It’s been a week since “it” happened, but there wasn’t a day where you didn’t relieve it at least once.
The rain against the window; the loud knocks on the door. You were sitting in the kitchen, putting the last candles on your birthday cake, anxious about the promise Luke made you as you looked at the clock. How did they let the police just pass through the gate like that? Maybe the guards knew it was urgent. How you walked down the hall, careful just to eavesdrop without being noticed, just in time to watch your mother fall to her knees, her beautiful party dress ruined as the most horrifying sound left her mouth.
Then, it was all a blur.
People dressed in black. Your father having meetings after meetings behind closed doors, always catching your eye before the familiar click of the lock filled the silence. How the rain felt against your skin as the casket containing your brother's body was lowered down to the ground, never to be seen again. Your mother’s tears. The fake “I’m sorry for your loss” speeches. Your father's stone-cold expression as his hand covered your shoulder with some sort of affection. The silence that came afterward.
But it couldn’t end like that. It wasn’t right.
“We need to find him,” You told your father after the funeral.
He was sitting behind his desk, looking the oldest you’ve ever seen him. His eyes weren’t even focusing on you, almost as if he were also lost.
The first time he lost a son, Ben, your oldest brother, it made him cold as ice. It helped him build the empire he had now, grown on the blood of the enemies he took down along the way. You were just a child then, not older than thirteen, but you remember how fast things started to change. How friends stopped being friends, how business never meant the same thing again, how your mother stopped smiling as the jewels in her chest started growing.
But this is different.
“Dad,” You begged, hating how you sounded like a little kid again.
“There is nothing we can do, Y/N,” He said, coldly.
That’s who Robert Hemmings was, never sugarcoating anything. He tried, albeit your mother’s begging, to keep you out of the know of the family business. You were their only daughter, their little Angel, what good would it do to drag you into this world of madness and blood? It seemed like she didn’t know you at all.
“So you’re just going to sit there and do nothing?!” Your voice rose with every word.
Your father didn’t dignify you with a response, instead, he chose to sit back and close his eyes. For the first time in years, you realized just how old your father was getting. The creases upon his face were as deep as the dark circles under his eyes. His white hair was getting thinner by the hour, and the spots on his skin seemed to be growing.
For a second you wondered just how much time it had passed since you saw him smile, since you spent time with him like you used to when you were a little kid. But you were not a kid anymore, and the man in front of you did not seem like your father at all.
He seemed tired, he probably was after all of this. But you were tired as well, tired of so, so many things that you were done keeping quiet for.
“He is still out there,” You said, more quietly this time “I know he is”
“Y/N…” He sighed, rubbing the pads of his fingers on his temple, trying hard to come up with the right words before he exploded in a fit of anger as he usually does with his subordinates “You heard what the police said. You read the reports even though we told you not to-”
“The reports said they only found one body, dad. One!” You wanted to scream, to shake some sense back into him but for what? You could already see the lost battle before it even began “Maybe Luke wasn’t in the car, maybe-”
“The car was completely burned out! They found his jewelry, some bones- Y/N I don’t know how else to tell you! They’re dead!”
“Jack is dead,” You said somberly “Jack’s body is the only one that they found. Jack’s the one six feet below. Not Luke”
Robert sat back in his chair, shaking his head as you continued with your ranting.
“The bones couldn’t be identified, so it could be one poor soul that got the short end of the stick. It could be one of the collateral damage, as you call them, right dad? Could be fucking anyone! Luke could still be out there, he could be in trouble and we’re sitting here doing nothing-!”
A loud bang interrupted you. Your father’s fist was tense over his desk after he banged on it, not caring about the glass of water that tipped over and was now spilling over the edge of the mahogany. The vein on his neck was trembling as well as his jaw, but his eyes weren’t focused on you. Instead, he looked down, eyes wide and unreadable with every emotion hidden and swallowed by his pride.
Still, that didn’t scare you.
“Jack would’ve wanted for us to find him”
“Don’t you fucking talk about your brother” Robert spat.
“Someone has to!” You stood up, letting the foot of the chair drag against the floor. You have never stood up to your father before, but it was time to change some things around the Hemmings' household “You know I’m right”
“Y/N, Luke is dead,” He said, finally looking straight at you. The helplessness in his eyes took you by surprise “The sooner you accept it, the better. The ceremony for his remains will be-”
“No! That’s not him!” You nearly cried, but you promised yourself not to. Not in front of him. Not ever “I’m not going to mourn a stranger standing in his place”
Your father just shook his head, letting his hands distract him as he sorted out the papers on his desk.
“Dad,” You demanded his attention, leaning over his desk “Dad!”
No response, no reaction.
“Fine,” You said, voice laced with anger “I’ll go find someone who will pay attention to me”
You started to walk away, not looking back as your nails dug into the flesh of your palm, cutting the skin to distract you from crying out of rage and disappointment. This was not how you expected he would react. You didn’t expect him to give up just like that.
The merciless boss of one of the biggest mafia rings in the country… giving up for his son.
“Y/N,” He called out before you closed the door behind you, making you stop in your tracks but you refused to look at him “I’m thinking of selling the business”
Those words left you frozen in place, a drop of cold sweat dripping down your back as you turned to him, clear fear in your eyes.
“What?”
Robert, stoic as usual, didn’t look up as he signed over something.
“The Luccas made an offer” He explained in so little detail “I believe it’ll be for the best”
“For the best?!” You scoffed, feeling completely betrayed. A new low you believed your father could never be able to reach “For the best of whom? Your conscience? Breaking news, dad. You don’t have one. Cause if you did, you would never-”
You pressed your lips together, shushing the lump in your throat that threatened to escape in a sob. You took a deep breath and turned to your father.
“I hope you know this is the last time I’ll ever talk to you again if you dare to sell it to them. To him”
“That’s not your decision to make”
“Then consider me dead along with the rest of your children. You’re good at that”
The banging on the door was heard all over the house along with your shoes stomping on the floor.
*
He could laugh. Was it possible that they were that stupid?
It wasn’t a rare occurrence for Calum Hood and Michael Clifford to come at him for help, but really? Drugs?
“This has to be the stupidest thing you’ve ever asked me,” He said, both Calum and Michael shifted a little in their seats.
There they were, sitting in comfortable velvety cushion seats with leather handles; drinking a whiskey that was probably older than them; hands adorned with expensive jewelry and dressed in the finest suits they could afford. And they were afraid.
It was normal, of course, to feel intimidated by him. After all, his reputation preceded him as one of the deadliest men in the country. His successful deals gave him millions, and the ones that weren’t as successful still made him a threat. Men feared him or wanted to be him. Women fell at his feet on their knees and not just to beg for mercy.
There was no wonder why he was nicknamed “Lucifer” given that his eyes resembled the evil and cruelty of Alexander Cabanel’s painting. There was no good left in him, not that anyone knew. Not that he would show proof of that.
Ashton Irwin was a proud man, a respectable man. And the two men in front of him knew it, so why waste their time?
Both Calum and Michael were famous around town as well. The prodigal son, Calum Hood, became a household name after he took on the family business after holding his father at gunpoint to sign the papers for him. Soon, he enlisted Michael Clifford, a wizard in technology and heir to his own fortune - albeit a bit small - as his right-hand man. They made themselves known in the business, and even Ashton had to admit that it was surprising how quickly they went up the ladder amongst the other families he knew. But, as any rookies, they made a few mistakes and asked a lot of favors that they were now trying to amend.
“Calum, how’s your girl?” Ashton asked, leaning back on his chair, pretending that their request was never asked in the first place “Still running that bookshop back on Seventh Street?”
The smirk on Ashton’s face might not have meant anything else but a taunt to Calum. But the latter didn’t like the way he said it, almost as if he knew that his girl was his only weakness.
“She’s good” He answered, trying not to give him the satisfaction of seeing him affected.
Ashton hummed, looking at the third guy who was standing near the mirror on the wall.
“It’s not nice to bring security and bodyguards for a talk with friends,” He said.
“Is that what we are?” Michael asked, “Is that what we’re doing?”
“You tell me, Clifford. Cause I know for sure that if you came to me as partners then we wouldn’t even have this conversation” Calum opened his mouth to speak but Ashton silenced him “Because as you know, I don’t make deals with lost causes, and right now I’m seeing two in front of me”
“Ashton-”
“There’s a thing called “unsaid agreements” in this business, Calum, I know you’re familiar with that. And that is we don’t shit where we eat. We don’t sell drugs in this city, we don’t make deals with the locals, and for fuck’s sake we don’t owe favors to the ones that don’t comply with this agreement” He pointed his finger at the two men in front of him “And you two fuckers did the three things together”
“Well, what choice did we have?!” Calum asked “The Luccas were threatening to take over our territory and-”
“And I don’t give a fuck about the Lucass’” Ashton spat “In fact…”
In one swift move, he took a gun under his desk and shot the security guard right in the head.
“WHAT THE-”
“FUCKING CHRIST”
The two men yelled and jumped as the gun went off. Splatters of blood could be found in their clothing and faces, but nothing compared to the smear of blood and brains that now dropped from the mirror. Ashton, as usual, sat back in his chair with a smirk and hid the gun. Not a single drop of blood hit him or his desk.
“WHY THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!” Calum yelled, trying to wipe the blood from his clothes, showcasing his lack of knowledge of the business.
“Cause he was wearing a microphone you jackass!” Ashton spat “Hidden on the belt, look it up”
Michael leaned down and he in fact found a small microphone hidden behind the buckle. He sighed as he showed it to Calum. The two men looked back at Ashton with tired looks filled with anger and embarrassment.
“Another advice,” He said “Don’t fucking invite newbies to “important” meetings”
“You think you’re so smart…”
“I know I’m smart, Hood, and I’m the best there is in this business so don’t you fucking forget it. There’s a reason you came to me and not to the bloody Bermans” He got up and walked up to Calum, grabbing his chin and pulling his closer “I’m the only chance you have but I don’t even know if you two idiots deserve it. So, admit it, Hood”
Calum rolled his eyes, but Ashton tightened his grip.
“Say it” He nearly whispered, looking straight into his eyes.
“Jesus fuck, fine. We need you, okay?”
Ashton smiled, letting go of Calm and patting him on the cheek “Atta boy”
Just in time, someone knocked on the door before opening it. A young blond girl dressed in a white crop top and leather pants peaked inside, only showing half of her body but her whole face.
“Sir?”
“Lauren, not now”
“There’s someone here to see you”
Ashton rolled his eyes “I don’t have time for it right now. Whatever or whoever it is, it can wait till at least for the cleaning to come up”
“I don’t think it can wait, sir. She’s very insistent. I’ve been trying to hold her back for twenty minutes now” Ashton gave her a look that made her roll her eyes “She says her name is angel and that it’s urgent”
Ashton perked up at the name. Slowly biting the inside of his cheek, he nodded and turned back toward his desk.
He clicked his tongue before looking toward Michael and Calum, and then back to his assistant.
“Bring her in and send the cleaning team to at least remove that idiot, please” Lauren nodded and closed the door. He looked at his desk, putting away some papers as he nonchalantly said “You two, out”
“What?!”
“This isn’t over, Irwin-”
“Yes, Clifford it is” He stared at them but barely raised his head “Now get the fuck out before I make you”
Ashton could only hear a string of murmured curses and then the door closing with a bang. He smirked, “Angel,” He whispered to himself in a singing, mocking tone “What have you gotten into”
*
The blonde girl looked familiar. Her smile showed some kindness that you weren’t used to seeing around these places, even when you first encountered her behind the bar. She didn’t ask questions other than your name and the reason for your sudden visit.
“He doesn’t see people without a previous appointment,” She said, handing one more beer to the drunken men who slurred their thank you’s to her.
“What, is he a doctor?” You chuckled humorlessly, but the girl didn’t laugh along with you. her bright blue eyes just showed pity and understanding. You sighed “Look, tell him is angel, he’ll see me”
The girl shrugged “I can’t promise you anything, doll. Just wait here”
Once she was out of sight through a backdoor, you took your time to scan the place. Ashton did outsell himself with this one.
“The Den of Vipers” was the most popular club in the city, having opened ten years ago when Ashton took over the family business, it was still filled with clients who wanted to get lost for a while. Ashton was good at making people disappear, and it showed. This place screamed his name wherever you would look.
The floor was a dark marble with white gold lines separating the tiles. There were booths against the walls, all made of velvet cushions and leather. The lights were low, and changing from blue to purple, to green and then white again as the music played, it was impossible to keep track of the people there thanks to it. The bar itself was made of bulletproof glass, standing proudly and mockingly in the middle of the dancefloor, surrounded by different bodies lost in the mindless music the DJ of the night put on, almost in trance and unaware of the things that happened behind the scenes.
Of course, this whole charade of a humble business owner was just Ashton’s front to the authorities - even though they always seemed to be on his side, many times you heard your father complain about it - but you knew the reality. In fact, you were sure that when the girl came back, you’d be led through the backdoor and into the real building. You’d walk through careful hallways that will eventually lead you to the owner’s real office.
And that is exactly what happened once she came back and guided you through cushioned, sound-proofed walls covered in dark green velvet. The lights of the halls were dimmed, giving the feeling of being watched at all times like a haunted house. And you wouldn’t have been surprised if that was the case, after all, Ashton could be anything but careless when it came to a negotiation.
Which is exactly why you’re here.
When you got to the door of his office, you didn’t need to knock as the door opened immediately. Two guys dressed in black came out carrying a bodybag, leaving the door open. You rolled your eyes because, of course, Ashton would make a big show.
“I’ll take it from here,” You said to the girl, giving her a small smile that she mirrored.
The first thing you saw when you came into the office was the desk. It had nothing but some papers and a lamp, no sign of family pictures or hobbies. It was common for the “big bosses” to keep their workplaces clean of any personal relationships, but coming from Ashton it seemed pretentious - at least for you.
The mirror still had blood stains on it and you could tell they were still fresh, even so you didn’t look twice. Blood and guts are not something that shocks you anymore, and that realization came with a whole can of worms you weren’t ready to open up yet. There were some stains on the floor and what you could assume was gunpowder residue, so you were careful not to step on those.
“I’d apologize for the mess, princess. But you and I both know it doesn’t matter”
You turned to find Ashton with his back facing you as he fixed a drink on his personal mini-bar. His broad shoulders and back were covered with the finest of suits - from Milan, everyone and their mothers wore clothes from Milan - his hair was longer than the last time you saw him.
When he turned around, however, it seemed like nothing had changed.
He looked mature, of course, twelve years can do that to someone. But his eyes were still the same shade of hazel you remember, only a bit more sadist. He looked good, and somehow you hated that. It was time to put the past in the past where it belonged and stop the memories before they cloud your mind. Still, something inside you kept telling you, urging you to let yourself go. What did it matter how he looked? But that thought came late for the half smile he wore as he walked up to you, made you realize that he caught you staring.
“Here,” He said, handing you a glass of whiskey and coke. How’d he know your favorite drink? that was a question for another time “I assume you’re a big girl now, princess”
You glared at him as you swallowed the whole glass in one go, never taking your eyes off him and his unimpressed look.
“‘m not a princess” You said, dryly “And I can make my own drink, thank you”
You pushed past him and walked toward the mini bar, fixing yourself another drink. It was clear that you didn’t need it, your mind was screaming and begging for you to keep a clear head while you were ahead and in front of Lucifer himself. But something in his smile… the way his eyes still treated you like a child, so condescending, brought something in you. A chance to prove yourself in front of him.
All your life you had to prove yourself in front of men like him. In front of women who think they were better than you because their hands didn’t get dirty as yours did. In front of your parents. Of Luke… How long until they realize that you are where you belong?
Once you finished making your drink you turned back to Ashton. His eyes roamed your body, shamelessly, he licked his lips briefly before a smug grin adorned his face, eyes looking straight at you.
“I can see that,” He said, leaning against his desk “So, angel, haven’t heard from you in a while”
You rolled your eyes “Don’t call me that”
“You’ve never seemed to mind it before”
“I’m not here to reminisce about the olden days, Irwin” You spat.
Ashton whistled “So the bitch can bark! Impressive. Who would’ve thought that the balls of the Hemmings family were hiding behind their youngest?” Your face turned red in anger as your fingers tensed around the glass. Ashton noticed and tauntingly walked toward you with a smirk and leaning to whisper in your ear “But guess what? Y/N, you still can’t bite”
Your body became hot at his proximity. The smell of his cologne filled your surroundings as the rage - or something else, something new - inside your stomach kept boiling. But before you could push him away, he was already pulling apart and going back to sit at his desk.
“Tell me, Y/N, what is a Hemmings doing here all by herself? Has daddy finally kicked you out?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat, looking down unable to meet his eyes. You can’t believe you’re doing this, not with him. But there wasn’t any other choice.
“I need help,” You said, hating how those words sounded coming from you.
“Everybody does” He shrugged “Doesn’t mean they’re going to get it-”
“Ashton,” You finally looked back at him. The urgency of your voice and the fact that you called him by his name for the first time since you came here, took him by surprise as he listened “Jack’s dead”
Ashton’s eyes remained unchanged at your words, looking straight at you while his fingers played with his rings on the opposite hand. From his reaction, it was hard to guess that once upon a time he and the Hemmings’ siblings were inseparable, Jack being the closest of age to him and one of his first friends. Your eyes begged for him to do something, say something. To show you any indication that he might help.
The bond between your family and his broke a long time ago. You were barely a child, but you knew there was no going back to the summers filled with laughter and joy you all shared. In the blink of an eye - or at least that’s what it felt like as a child - The Irwins and the Hemmings were sworn enemies. And the friendship you had with Ashton vanished in thin air.
You and Luke took it the hardest, begging your mother to help you call the Irwin household so you could talk to Ash. Never understanding why suddenly her eyes filled with tears as she shook her head no and told you to play something else.
“He hates us,” Luke said to you once. It was another boring afternoon after you suggested calling him again. But Luke’s eyes were cold as ice, scaring you as he said “And we hate him”
And for a while that was it. You weren’t going to go against your brother, so the subject was finally dropped and you haven’t seen Ashton since. Or at least that’s what everyone thought.
But now, years after the fallout, you were hoping somehow that those words were a lie. Maybe Ashton could still hold some kind of fond memory of your families together. Anything to make you believe he might help you.
“My condolences,” He said after a while, no emotion hidden in his voice.
His comment made you angry, “Is that it?”
“What else do you want me to say?” He shrugged “People die every day, Y/N, it just the way it is”
“He was murdered”
“Shocker” Ashton scoffed with sarcasm “He was never the brightest of lads.”
“It was an ambush,” You said, unable to stop. “They were driving back home in the middle of the night when a string of bullets came raining down on the vehicle. Jack could barely escape before they found him and slit his throat. They burned the car afterward. And Luke-... Luke’s missing, Ashton”
Ashton nodded, pressing his lips in a thin line “He’s probably dead”
“No, he’s not”
And maybe it was because of your determination, or the look in your eyes when you said it, almost as if you believed it. But Ashton grinned at your statement.
“No,” He said, “He’s not”
A small breath of relief escaped your lips. Finally, somebody believed you.
“Would you help me?”
“No”
“What?!”
Ashton shrugged “Why would I help you, little Hemmings? What makes you so entitled to come here and ask for my help after what your family did?”
“My family?” It caught you off guard, what did he know that you didn’t?
“And why aren’t they helping to find their beloved golden child?” Ashton mocked, standing up and circling his desk until he was once again in front of you “All the stories we hear about the young, promising Hemmings… I’m sure they were not talking about you”
You felt your cheeks heat up at the comment, grip tightening around the glass, nearly breaking it.
“I am shocked that they didn’t start a search party already. Has daddy Hemmings opened his eyes to his karma yet? Why should I care? Matter of fact, why should you?”
“He’s my brother,”
“Cute. Not enough, but thanks for trying” He nodded toward the door “See yourself out, angel. This isn’t your castle”
Ashton turned around, not even giving you a second glance. Your hand reached out to him, grabbing him by the arm and making him stop. There were probably a few people who could do that to him, even fewer the ones who were still alive to tell the story. He turned his eyes toward you, curiosity and anger hidden in those hazel marbles staring back at you and then at your hand on his arm.
The tension was clear, but it was a little too late to rethink that mistake. If this was your only shot, then you had to take it. You owe that much to Luke.
“I- I have no one, Ash,” You said, looking down, ashamed of your statement and how weak you sounded.
Ashton didn’t say a word, he didn’t move away either. He stood there, waiting for you to continue. And for the first time in a long time, you felt relieved that someone was at least willing to listen.
“I left them,” You told him, looking straight into his eyes “I left my family because they did not believe me. They can’t find Luke, they won’t even try. He’s the only person I have left and I won’t rest until I find him, with or without your help”
Ashton grinned maniacally, a shadow appearing in his eyes as he looked down at you. Now you understand why they called him Lucifer. For he once was one of God's most beautiful angels, but temptation and his own ego were his doom. And, as he leaned down, you couldn’t help but be entranced by that wicked smile as he said, nearly whispering.
“And what are you willing to do, angel?”
It was a challenge, you could see it in his eyes. A bait to lure you into a trap. And you took it.
“Anything”
Ashton’s smile widened as he freed himself from your grasp and walked over to his desk to grab a set of keys, pressing a little button on it.
“If I’m going to help you, little Hemmings - and I’m not saying I will just yet - you’ll have to resign your name and what comes with it. I’ll be dead before I help a Hemmings out of the sheer kindness of my heart”
You rolled your eyes “You don’t have a heart, Irwin. Is that all you want? I told you I left my father”
“I don’t need a rogue princess fumbling with my business” Ashton scoffed, “So whatever I say goes. You’re working for me, Hemmings, not the other way around” He walked closer to you again, his chest nearly hitting yours “If I say go, you go. If I say we stop, you stop. If I say get out of my sight, you better pray your little feet move fast. I don’t care who you are, what you are, or what you represent. If you fuck with me, I’ll fuck right back. And I go hard, angel. No intentions of having any kind of mercy. Understood?”
You challenged him with a look, trying to figure him out. But time was running out, and you didn’t have any other option.
“Yes.” You said, dryly.
Ashton clicked his tongue “Yes, what?”
“Don’t push it, Irwin” You took a step back “So, we have a deal?”
The doors to the office opened and two large, muscly men dressed in suits came in and stood quietly but threatening at the door. You crooked an eyebrow and looked back at Ashton.
“Friends of yours?”
“Acquaintances,” He said, walking over to them and getting out the door, only stopping for a second “You comin’?”
The two men walked behind you as you followed Ashton through the halls that first brought you there. The image of his broad shoulders walking under the low lights and out toward the club shielded you from any distractions. He would sometimes glance over his shoulder, a teasing smile pulling at the corner of his lips when he noticed you were still walking a few steps behind him.
People at the club were sweaty and unashamed. Bodies grinding against one another and along the beat of a dark EDM song. Some women and boys would walk up to Ashton, letting their hands grace the skin of his face and neck or arms as they each seductively said hello to him. It seemed as if they were enchanted by him, moved by a spell of lust as their eyes would meet his. They wanted him, they all wanted him. Ashton would smile, say their names, and acknowledge them with a hello before moving to another person, another step toward the exit.
Ashton led you through a door that led to another dark hallway. The music sounded muffled through the walls, blocking your ears at the sudden change of environment. Ashton walked a few steps ahead before he stopped and turned around toward you, hands in his pockets as he looked at you and grinned.
“Now what?” You asked, annoyed “Any other fan of yours that we need to greet?”
Ashton chuckled and shook his head.
“No, just precautions”
“Precautions? Why would you-”
“Sorry, angel”
And with a snap of his fingers, the world went black.

The original concept is the following (to help you understand the fic better):
Ashton (in the beginning appearing as Fletcher) comes back to Sydney, where he starts working at Calum's garage as a mechanic. Shortly after this he meets our girl and starts to pursue her. They do start dating, but after some complications happen, and she finds out Fletcher is not the person he tells people he is, but someone else (Ashton), and she quickly breaks things up between them.
What she doesn't realize is that she and Ashton have met before, just after graduation at a beach party, where they fell in love for a night, but never saw each other again. Ashton does recognize the girl, but she doesn't recognize him for a long time, until finally Ashton does tell her the truth about their past.
The story is a mess - the original idea included gangs and street racing in which Ashton also partakes, lots of chasing after the girl in different places and scenarios, who eventually starts to put together how Ashton really loves her and actually wants to protect her from things happening around the city. (This is a huge reason why I never really worked on the story - I couldn't decide on anything, so it's just a big mess.)
They eventually make up and finally kiss at another beach party (full circle), and decide that they want to start a relationship with each other. There are lot of added stories to them in my mind, all of them following the main story above.
I also realized over the years that in some ways they are kinda toxic, but I cannot help it, I love my babies so much. So if you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask them.
Feedback and reblogs are appreciated!

It was well past midnight when you realized that there was something out of the ordinary. At first everything seemed to be normal, your night started like any other: you stopped by the garage after work, parking your car just outside the building and greeted the boys who were still working there. You’ve convinced Ashton to finish early, making Calum close up for the night, and dragged your boyfriend up the stairs to his flat.
He was in a really good mood, and with a cheeky grin he pulled you into the shower with himself. His hands were searching and grabbing at whatever body parts they could reach, and after he’d promised you the best fuck of your life, Ashton picked you up to cross the tiny apartment to his bedroom, where he made good on his promise. You were lying in a tangled mass afterwards, watching the last rays of sunshine peeking through the window, painting Sydney in the most beautiful shades of pink, orange and yellow.
You were ready to make some dinner, but Ashton preferred cuddle time, and held you close to his side while he ordered Thai food from one of his favourite places. You spent the time kissing and talking about your day until the guy arrived with your order, and you ate in comfortable silence in the kitchen, playing footsie all through dinner. Usually this was the time when you went out to have fun around town, or just lay on the couch, watching the TV mindlessly, but the last few weeks have been different.
Since you’ve decided to take up some courses to help you with your work, it meant that eventually you needed to take exams on them as well. You had your doubts when you first approached Ash with the idea, but he was supportive, and in his own way, he helped you with your studying and papers. It usually meant buying you coffee or letting you rant about your problems – or ordering food when he thought you could use the extra time. And his apartment was much quieter than your noisy neighbourhood. He did not mind you staying over if it meant cuddles, food sharing and sex – all three of those happened regularly, so he did not complain.
You have already started revising notes when Ashton came up to you and gave a kiss on your neck. You leaned back against his chest, looking up at him with a smile.
“You’re going to bed?”
“Yeah, I promised Calum that I will open in the morning, since someone decided to drag me away early,” he leaned forward to press another kiss on your forehead, his red locks falling over your face. “And I don’t want to keep you away from your notes and books, which are clearly more interesting than your own boyfriend.”
“How tragic,” you laughed, turning around on the kitchen chair to wrap your arms around him. “Please file a complaint, and I will talk to the management.”
“And what will I get as a consolation prize?” he quirked an eyebrow at you.
“Blowjobs.”
“Oh, plural? That doesn’t sound so bad,” Ashton grinned at you, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear. “When can I start collecting them?”
“You know how offices work – it might take a few weeks to get an answer,” you bit your lip to hide a smile, and Ash just huffed at you.
“If it was up to you, I wouldn’t get my blowjobs for the next 30 days or so,” his fingers found a way into your tied up hair, slowly pulling out strands and combing them back into an even messier bun. “Any way to file a complaint about filing complaints?”
“I might know someone who can help you,” you tilted your head forward, pressing a small kiss on the skin of his stomach, then quickly blew a raspberry on it. “But only during opening hours.”
“You are terrible,” he laughed, grabbing your face and pulling you closer to plant a kiss on your lips. “Alright, I’ll leave you to your notes.”
“Don’t hog the blankets,” you poked his side, and Ash laughed again, pushing your hand away. “Good night, Cardinal.”
“Is that a joke on my hair?”
“You tell me,” you winked at him, and he leaned back to give you another kiss.
“Good night, you monster.”
* * *
You knew something was up when you heard noises from the bedroom. The flat was really small, with no actual doors between the bedroom, the living area and the kitchen, and at first you thought the all-nighters you pulled would bother Ashton and he wouldn’t be able to sleep with the light on in the kitchen. But he was a heavy sleeper, still and calm, and the only thing that ever broke the silence was his light snoring. But not tonight.
The first thing you heard were the rustling sheets, a pillow thumping down onto the floor, the bed creaking under his weight. There was a loud gasp, more rustling, something hitting the nightstand or the bed frame, then another loud thump on the mattress. More gasps, more heavy breathing – you could hear the panic in the way he was trying to catch his breath, choking on air, like he couldn’t get enough oxygen into his lungs.
You pushed yourself out of the chair, running to the small bedroom to check on Ashton. He was tangled up in the sheets, body twisting around as he tried to kick off the covers, thrashing in his blanket prison. His arms were swinging, trying to grab onto something (or someone), hitting the pillows and the bed with every move. He pushed his head back into the pillow, turning it left and right as he was panting, his Adam’s apple moving almost in a frantic, panicked way.
He was no stranger to nightmares – when he was exhausted or just had a bad day, he would go to bed early, resting his head on your stomach, hugging your body close to him like a pillow, and that usually did the trick. He slept soundly and without interruption. But sometimes he was just so lost in his own head that he forgot about it all, not caring about the dreams sneaking into his sleepy mind, and he usually woke with a start in the middle of the night. He would curl his body around yours, telling you that he’s okay, he just had a bad dream, he will fall back to sleep soon – he only ever asked you to hold his hand during these moments.
But tonight was different, Ashton never had a nightmare like this, one that physically shook him. He was fighting so hard to wake up, but nothing seemed to work. You dropped onto the mattress, climbing closer, and grabbed him by his shoulders, shaking him with all the strength that you had.
“Ashton! Ashton, wake up! Ash! Wake up!”
Suddenly he bolted up, eyes wide open, staring at the wall and taking in a lungful of air, making himself dizzy in the process. You shifted closer, climbing between his legs, and wrapped your arms around his trembling body. You held him close, running your fingers over his back, murmuring soft words into his ear as he buried his face in your neck, taking deep breaths, trying to calm his hammering heart.
“I’m here, Ash, it’s okay. I’m here. I’ve got you.”
He locked his arms around your waist, pulling you closer, never loosening his grip on you. You ran your hand up to his shoulder, lightly massaging his tense muscles, caressing his neck, brushing your fingers over his hair. His skin was cold and sweaty, his hair wet and sticking to his forehead. His breathing was slowing, and you moved your head to press a small kiss on his temple. He tensed for a second, but then melted into your arms once again.
“It’s alright,” you whispered, still stroking the red locks at the back of his head. “It’s over. It was just a dream, it’s over. I’m here. You’re awake. It’s okay.”
His breath was hot on your neck as he inhaled deeply, nuzzling his face back into your skin. His muscles were slowly relaxing, but he was still tense and sweaty, and a shiver ran through his body. He tried to burrow closer to get more of your warmth, and you let him stay in your arms like this for a few more minutes. When you could feel he was a bit more relaxed, you pulled back a little, lifting his head up to look at you. His eyes were glassy and unfocused, and it took him a few seconds to get out of his daze.
Ashton’s gaze skipped over yours, instead focusing on the chain hanging from your neck. The silver ring he gave you almost a year ago was hooked on a thin necklace, the weight of the metal resting between your breasts, a comfort you never knew you needed. You still remembered the time when he wore it on his finger, playing with it whenever he started getting nervous. He called it a good luck charm, something he desperately needed while he was chasing after you. But once he got hold of your heart, he gave it to you – since then it became something much more than just a piece of jewellery. For you: a reminder; for others: a warning.
His clumsy fingers wrapped around the ring, slightly tugging on it. You slowly tilted his head up again, trying to catch his eyes. His hazel ones finally found your gaze, and you gave him a small smile, lightly running your fingers over his stubbly jaw.
“Hey, you’re okay?”
Silence, then a nod.
“How about you go and take a shower? Get warmed up,” you rubbed his arms, trying to warm his still cold skin. “And I will change the sheets.”
Another nod.
Ash let go of your necklace, slowly peeling himself out of the bed, starting to go to the bathroom, then stopped, looked back at you. You gave him another encouraging smile, nodded at him that it’s okay, you both will be fine, after which he finally made his way out of the room. When the lock clicked and the shower started up, you let out a breath you were holding back. A thousand questions were running through your mind, but you didn’t want to take too much time thinking about them. You wanted to make sure Ashton was comfortable after his nightmare, that he can come back and relax into the bed, wrapped in your arms, and sleep off this horrible experience.
You started stripping off the sweat soaked sheets, pulling out a fresh set from the drawer, working methodically in changing them. After that you opened the window, letting in fresh air, the slight breeze clearing away the remaining shadows from the room. You reached into another drawer, choosing a soft pair of sweatpants for Ashton, and finally went to the kitchen, making tea, waiting for him to finish up.
The lock on the bathroom door clicked, and it opened with a slight squeak. Ash stood behind the door, a towel wrapped around his waist, water dripping on the tiles from his red hair. You stepped to him, holding the pants out for him. He took them from your hands, his fingers brushing against yours as he did, and that made him look at you.
“I made you tea,” you nodded towards the kitchen, leaning against the doorframe. “If you want some.”
“Thanks,” his voice was quiet and small, and he coughed a little to make his throat work. “I– I’ll be there.”
“Take your time.”
You stepped back to the kitchen, piling up your books and notes to shove them to the corner of the table. You knew there was no way you would go back to studying, not tonight. Any exam could wait – Ashton needed you now.
After a few more minutes he emerged from the bathroom, shuffling to the kitchen, and dropped down onto the chair next to you. He sighed deeply, then leaned forward, resting both his arms on the table, and put his head down on them, hiding his face. You watched him, how his back moved as he was breathing in and out. His muscles were still tense, you could see it from the way he was holding himself. You scooted a bit closer, and slowly put your hand on his elbow, a tentative touch. When he did not flinch away, you started to lightly rub his arm, up to his shoulder, down on his back, then back up again.
When you reached the back of his neck, Ash moved his head to the side, looking at you as you stroked his drying locks with your fingers. His hazel eyes were searching you as you were working through the tangled ends, brushing them back from his face. He let out another small sigh when you touched his face, caressing his cheek, which made him nuzzle into your hand.
“Do you want to talk about it?” you asked, resting your hand back on his arm.
Ashton looked at you for another second, then hid his face back in the crook of his elbow. You waited for him, you knew he needed time to work through the thoughts in his head, to decide if he wanted to face them again. He slowly pushed himself up, reaching for the mug in front of him, taking a sip of his cooling tea. His fingers were running over the rim, circling it mindlessly as he focused on something in front of him.
“You… left me.”
There was silence in the kitchen – his words left you speechless. It sounded silly at first; you knew how you felt about him, how first his attention was unusual, almost uncomfortable at times, and that you wished he would give you just an ounce of space; how you started to miss him when he wasn’t around, how you watched over your shoulder if he would appear somehow, stalk behind you, keeping his distance, but never taking his eyes off of you. You knew he had his reasons to do so, and you learned to love him for that – it wasn’t so hard, he found a way to your heart, and you willingly let him in. You never wanted to let go of him ever again.
“I have no intention in doing that,” you reached out to take his hand in yours, squeezing it. “And no reason.”
“But what if you do?” he whispered, pulling his hand away. “What if you find one?”
“Ash… is this something you’ve been… thinking about lately?” you asked softly, your fingers going up to your necklace, running them over the ring.
He did not answer; his eyes were still trained on the same spot as before. He was drumming on the tabletop, the rhythm getting more and more frantic and complicated. You desperately wanted to reach out and stop him, to make him look at you, to let him know you were there, you were listening, that you wanted to understand. But it seemed he was lost in his own thoughts – thoughts that brought out a nightmare that clearly shook him to the core.
“Ashton,” you said in a small voice. “Don’t push me away. Please.”
Those words made him look at you. Those words were his words, begging you to give him another chance, to make up for the mistakes he made when you met again. They were Ashton’s words, not Fletcher’s; they made you stop in your tracks, made you listen to him. They broke you in a way you’ve known you will never be broken again. That was the first time you’ve really let him into your heart, and you never wanted him to leave.
Ash sighed deeply, slowly turning around in his chair to face you, though his head was down. His fingers nervously twitched in his lap, and he started wringing his hands, looking for the rings he usually wore to play with. He once told you that sometimes he felt naked without them, and he liked wearing at least one to mindlessly spin it around, or take it off and put it back on. You moved a little closer, pushing your knees against his, slowing down his bouncing feet. Leaning forward you reached for him, pushing your fingers between his tightly clasped ones, and interlocked them. There was a slight shake to his hands, and you gently ran your thumb over his skin, trying to calm him again.
“I’m sorry,” he finally breathed, slowly looking up at you from under his lashes. “I’m just… unsure.”
“Of me?” you tilted your head to the side, trying to see all of him. He just shook his head.
“Of myself,” Ashton answered, rubbing your hands with his thumbs. “If I’m good enough for you.”
“Of course you are,” you squeezed his fingers in yours, pushing your forehead against his. “You are my Ashton. How could you not be good enough for me?”
“That’s not what everyone else thinks,” he said with a humourless laugh. “People talk, all over town.”
“Some neighbourhood gossip won’t make me leave you,” you shook your head. “What could they tell me that I don’t already know? I know you, Ash, I know who you are.”
“You have the heart of an angel, and I’m the devil who’s holding you back,” he whispered, tilting his head down.
“Maybe I’ve had enough of heaven,” your hand went to his jaw, slowly tipping his chin up to look back at you. “If hell is where you are, then I’m packing all of my bags to be with you.”
“Y/N…”
“Or maybe they have it the wrong way around,” you continued. “Cause you definitely feel like heaven to me. Maybe it’s not their definition of the place. But screw them – my heaven is all tattooed up and gorgeous.”
A blush coloured his cheek, and he moved closer to rest his forehead on your shoulder, his legs bracketing yours. You were tangled up in each other, silently sitting in the kitchen for a few minutes, Ashton’s hand on your thighs while you played with the hair at the nape of his neck. Then he slowly pulled back, rubbing his eyes – was it tears, or sleep, you didn’t know – and looked back at you again.
“Your parents still hate me,” he added, resting his elbow on the table, leaning his head against his hand.
“They hate everyone,” you answered with a shrug. “They even hate me. That’s not an accomplishment.”
“I’m sure they would prefer anyone else over me,” he searched you with his eyes. “Someone who can give you a real future.”
“What do you think, what does a girl need?” you quirked an eyebrow at him, and it was his turn to shrug.
“Financial security?” he asked, and when you rolled your eyes at him, he continued. “Someone like that guy you work with – what’s his name? Liam?”
“A suit and tie?” you shook your head, putting your hands on his knees to lean closer. “Really, Ash? When I can have you, your jackets and chains, and the fire red Mustang? Well, tough luck, because you’re stuck with me for good.”
“But am I enough for you?” Ashton sighed, reaching for you and holding your face in his hands, making you really look at each other. “I wanna give you the world. Hell, I wanna give you the galaxy. The universe. But I’m just this guy, fixing cars and running my mouth at people. And you… you’re smart and beautiful and could get anyone you set your eyes on.”
“And that’s you,” you nuzzled your face against his hand, looking at him pleadingly. “You’re the only one I want.”
“What if Liam asked you on a date? Or one of the guys at that course? What if you get along so much that you realize that you could just… do better than me?” his gaze slipped down to the ring resting against your chest, saying the next words looking at it. “You know I would do anything for you… but I know I can’t keep you forever.”
“Ash, how long have we known each other?” you asked, reaching for him, brushing his hair behind his ear.
“7 or 8 years. Dunno. Why is that important now?” he sighed, shaking his head.
“What do you think… how many guys did I date during that time?” you questioned him, but did not wait for an answer. “Only two. And you wanna know their names?”
“Please don’t kick me when I’m already down,” he whispered, but you’ve had enough.
“They are Fletcher and Ashton. They are you, Ash. I might have had a few flings and one night stands, and sure, I went on a few dates with guys. But it was only ever you I had a real thing with. It was only you who was ever good enough for me.”
“Then why did you even go on those dates if you didn’t want anything from them?” the question left Ashton before he could stop himself, and you could see him flinch when he realized what he’d said.
“I wanted to know how I felt about other people. I wanted to give myself a chance, see how we could work out. You know – if you never try, you’ll never know,” you shrugged a little while reaching for his hand, slowly interlocking your fingers with his. “And I– I think I wanted to know how you would react.”
“Remember the hole in the wall?” he quirked an eyebrow at you, and you needed to stifle a laugh.
“I was always waiting for you to show up during your dates,” you confessed, squeezing his hand in yours. “You know, just crash them. I wanted you to crash them. I know it took me a long time to let you in…”
“Well, half the time you were mad at me,” he said, leaning closer and resting his forehead against yours. “For one reason, or the other.”
“And in the other half I desperately wanted you to kiss me,” you finished, nuzzling your nose to his.
“You know I would have done it in a second,” he breathed. “I wanted to walk up to every single one of those guys and tell them that you’re… that you’re…”
“Come on,” you whispered, licking your lips. “Say it.”
“Mine.”
“Don’t think I was never asked on dates at my job or at school,” you gazed at him while saying the next part. “I was, numerous times. You know what I say to them when they call me pretty? Thank you, my boyfriend thinks so too. Or when they invite me for coffee? Thanks, but Ash is already bringing me some. And when they don’t want to let it go, I say: trust me, you do not want to meet him.”
“Are you really saying those things?” he asked you, and you nodded.
“I’m also implying that I’m having the best sex of my life, and I don’t plan on giving up on that,” you finished with a smile.
A moment later Ashton started laughing – it was his first real laugh of the night, and he hid his face, trying to stifle his giggles. It was the most beautiful sound you’ve ever heard. Suddenly the night wasn’t that dark, but instead everything seemed to start to glow a little bit. It was Ashton’s smile, shining through the blacks, dark blues and grays of the night, warming up the chilling air around you, shifting everything back to your usual teasing, but loving normal, the one you’ve built up together.
“I love your smile,” you whispered when he finally looked back at you, still trying to catch his breath. “I know I’ve always told you that you should wipe that grin off of your face, but god, I’m happy you never did. I just… there are so many things I just love about you that I’ve thought I hated before. Like your snake tattoo, or your loud car and obnoxious sunglasses… your terrible jokes and sexual innuendos, and how you never fail to say them at the worst times… I love your stupid red hair, and…”
“My hair is not stupid,” Ash mumbled, a smile still playing at the corner of his mouth.
“No,” you shook your head, reaching once again for him to brush your fingers through his red locks. “No, it’s not.”
Ash nuzzled closer, closing his eyes for a moment to enjoy the caresses and light tugs on his hair, making a small noise that almost sounded like purring. He turned his head, brushing his lips against your wrist as you wrapped a curl around your finger, pushing it behind his ear, stroking your hand down his cheek and jaw. Hazel eyes followed the movement of your fingers until you ran your thumb over his chin, and his gaze finally found yours.
“Can I kiss you?” you asked him softly, pulling back a little to see his face.
“Are you asking for permission?” there was another small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, and a slight blush coloured his cheeks.
“Just checking if you are in the right headspace,” you returned his smile, and he nodded shortly.
“I would love that.”
Without a second thought you leaned forward, one of your hands sliding up the back of his neck and into his hair, the other one cradling his jaw, tilting his head a little to the side. His breath was hot on your face as you moved closer, cheeks and noses brushing, lips slowly pressing against each other – one soft, the other slightly chapped. You kissed his bottom lip, moving to the top, nuzzling closer and closer, until he opened his mouth and let you kiss him deeper, brushing his tongue against yours as you both tasted the other. Ash made a needy little sound as you nipped on his lips and kissed his chin, his jaw, brushing against his cheek as you nudged your nose against the soft skin behind his ear.
“I chose you, Ashton. I’ve been choosing you every single day since that night on the beach, and I’ll do it as long as you let me. I’m freakin’ in love with you if that hasn't been clear before,” you breathed softly, kissing the shell of his ear. “You’ve been on my mind for the last 8 years, and if that’s not love, then you have to find a better word for me, because I’m failing here, and you know I’m good with words. But you just have this effect on you where I completely lose my sanity, and I would gladly give up on it forever, if it meant I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Ash reached for you and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you out of your chair, and sitting you on his lap. His hand rested on your thigh, keeping you close to his body, as his fingers ran through your hair, guiding your face to his again. It was his turn to kiss you, and he started with the softest of touches, just to feel each other’s breath on your lips, the warmness of the other’s skin, the shiver running through you when you’ve finally lost your patience. Noses and lips pushed together, and he kissed you deeply, tongue brushing against yours as you were holding onto his shoulders. His scent clouded your mind, his touch burnt your skin, and you never wanted this moment to end.
“I love you,” Ash pulled away just enough to brush his lips against yours as he spoke. “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
You pressed another kiss on his temple, cuddling closer in his lap to feel as much of his skin as you could. His arms wrapped around you more strongly, and he rested his head on your shoulder, pushing his face into your neck. For a few minutes you’ve stayed like this – slow caresses on waists and backs, fingers brushing over hair and tattoos, lips leaving small kisses wherever they could.
“Come on,” you ran your thumb over Ashton’s cheek. “I think it’s time we go back to bed.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t want to keep you away from your studying,” he started apologizing, but you shook your head, smiling at him.
“Screw exams. You’ll always be my first priority,” you tugged a little on his hair, tilting his head up towards you. “How does that sound to you?”
“Like something I’ve always wanted from you,” Ash returned your smile, then reached for your hand to kiss your knuckles. “Thank you, beautiful.”
You climbed down from his lap and reached for him to pull him up from the chair. You made our way back to the bedroom where the sheets were freshly changed and the pillows fluffed up just as Ashton liked it. He hesitated for a moment – the nightmare was still fresh in his mind, and even after you’ve talked through everything, he was still a little bit shaken from it.
“It’s alright,” you leaned against his side, pressing a kiss on the tattoo on his arm. “I’m here now.”
“I’m– scared to fall back to sleep,” he admitted, then sighed deeply. “It’s stupid, I know.”
“No, Ash. It’s perfectly normal,” you pushed yourself up on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek. “Don’t ever feel ashamed, especially not because of your dreams. You’re human, it’s okay to fall sometimes. I’ll always be here to pick you up.”
“How did I get so lucky?” he turned to you, gathering you in his arms for a hug, resting his head on top of yours.
“Must have been that lucky charm of yours,” you answered with a smile, feeling the ring resting between your bodies.
“You are my lucky charm,” Ashton whispered, brushing the hair back from your face.
“Well, then you should definitely hold onto me.”
He huffed at you with a smile, shaking his head. You pulled him down on the bed, both of you getting comfortable under the blankets – Ash scooted as close to you as he could, nuzzling his face between your head and shoulder. You wrapped your arms around him, letting him rest his weight on you, running your fingers through his hair.
“You smell so good,” he mumbled against your skin, pushing his nose to your pulse point. “Am I not too heavy?”
“You’re perfect where you are,” you continued brushing your fingers over his curls, skimming them over the back of his neck, down his shoulders, then back up again. “How are you feeling?”
“Like maybe I will be able to fall asleep,” he breathed, then reached for the ring hanging from your neck. “Is it okay if I stay like this?”
“Your peace of mind is worth every numb limb and hours spent awake,” you kissed his forehead, then the hand holding onto the ring. “You would do the same for me. And just so you know, you make an excellent pillow.”
“You too,” he closed his eyes, resting his hand back on your side, cuddling close. “Will you… will you hold my hand? Please?”
Without another word you slid your fingers against his, interlocking them. He squeezed your hand in return, letting out one last sigh as he slowly let go of all the tension that kept him awake. His body melted against yours, muscles relaxing as his breathing evened out, and in a few minutes all you could feel was his light snoring tickling your neck. You brushed your fingers through his hair again, pressing one last goodnight kiss on his forehead before resting back against your pillows.
Ashton slept soundly in your arms, head resting on your shoulder, arm thrown over your waist, fingers interlocked on the bed. He fit perfectly against you, his weight all the comfort you needed in your life. You would have stayed up all night just to make sure he had no more nightmares, but his soft sleepy sounds slowly lulled you to sleep too. The last thing you remembered was his lips brushing against your neck as he shuffled in his sleep, and you fell asleep with a smile on your face. You knew for sure he was your forever – and you planned on reminding him of that every single day for the rest of your lives. Even if it meant chasing away his nightmares every night. Because he was worth it.

bookstore au with ashton irwin - headcanon
Tumblr media
Based on this request from the very talented @littledrummerangie,thank you for sending it in lovie🦋
He was a bookworm who loved the familiarity of the known. He didn’t even notice how everything was a routine: the way he went to the same cafe and browsed the menu but got the same coffee each time, before heading to the usual bookstore a few feet away.
Which was why Calum was so confused as he stopped outside a newly opened bookstore, his eyes fixed at you moving inside it. In no time he had pushed the door open and started browsing through the shelfs, waiting for you to ask if he needed any help.
He swore you had the voice of an angel as you moved towards him, smile on your face as you wondered if he needed anything. (He didn’t, but) shortly after you were recommending all sorts of books.
He was so quick to return the next day, claiming he forgot to get one of the pieces on his wishlist (something he definitely hadn’t). He was just hypnotized, adoring the way you strang your sentences together and how all your opinions was so reflected. He could listen to you talk about anything for hours.
Every other day he would come up with a new excuse and be back again, not that you minded. He was your favourite customer, always smiling and asking about your day. Once in a while he even brought you coffee (he swore the barista had made an extra on accident but it happened way too many times for it to be a coincidence)
You always looked forward to your meetings, but was getting impatient, kinda hoping he would ask you out.
He most definitely wanted to ask you out. But it had to be perfect, something you couldn’t say no to.
So when your favourite author came out with a new book, he figured it was his time to shine.
At the end of your shift, he was waiting patiently outside the door. A basket resting on his arm, filled with food you’d briefly mentioned you enjoyed. To say you were surprised was an understatement, but you followed with a smile plastered on your face as he said he knew the perfect reading spot.
And that’s how you ended up with your head in his lap, his fingers gently playing with your hair as you fell in love with both your new book and the man beside you.

“What the fuck…” You mumbled, scrolling through your email.
You were sitting in the library, trying to study for your upcoming biochem exam, but failing a bit. You were getting distracted by everything, hence why you were scrolling through your email on your laptop instead of studying. The email was from two hours ago and it was asking you to come to the dean’s office today at three for a meeting.
You began to panic a bit, wondering why on earth the dean wanted to have a meeting with you. You had never, ever been in trouble academically or ever, for that matter. You were a bit behind on your loan payments, but not so much they were rescinding your admission, right? You cursed when you realized that it was currently two-thirty, and the dean’s office was on the other side of campus.
Quickly shoving your laptop, books, and stationery into your bookbag, you hurried out of the library that you loved oh-so-dearly. Going to Columbia University had been your dream since second grade, and that day that you saw the main library on your tour in tenth grade just confirmed that this was the school for you.
You slowed your pace a bit when you got closer to the building, taking a moment to soak in the crisp, fall air and the splotches of autumn that decorated the New York City sidewalks. You pulled your cardigan tighter around yourself and hurried up the steps of the School of Professional Studies.
“Hi,” You whispered quietly to the lady at the front desk as you signed in.
“Oh, it’s you,” she said, eyeing you up and down. “You’re a very lucky girl.” she winked.
You furrowed your brow, wanting to ask what she meant, but not wanting to be rude. You eventually just shook your head and sat down in the lobby while you waited to be called back. This was a huge school, full of children of the rich and famous. She must’ve had you confused with someone else.
“Y/N Y/L/N?” the dean asked, walking out into the lobby. “Follow me.”
You quickly picked up your backpack and followed him, deep into the building where his office was sat. You struggled a bit to keep up with his long strides, being a bit out of breath when you finally reached his office.
“Take a seat,” he said not unkindly, opening the door for you. “This will be quick.”
You took a tentative seat on one of the down chairs on the opposite side of the desk, trying to control your breathing. You were afraid your features would show your fear, so you tried to keep your face even.
“Ms. Y/L/N, you are extremely lucky…” he started. “Your tuition has been paid in full by an anonymous donor, to include everything you will need to complete your undergraduate degree.” he smiled.
“I’m sorry, what?” You asked, trying to stay polite, but also wanting to know what the fuck was going on.
“Someone has paid your tuition in full. Do you have any idea who it could be?”
“I…no…” You said, hoping the blush wouldn’t creep onto your cheeks.
You knew exactly who it was. There was only one person in your life that had that much money. Ivy League schooling wasn’t cheap, after all. You wouldn’t tell the dean who it was, though. That wouldn’t be good for a number of reasons.
“Enjoy your time here at Columbia, Y/N. You’re free to go.” the dean smiled, nodding towards the door.
You stood on shaky legs and walked out of the room, trying to process what you had just heard. No more student loan payments, no more living paycheck-to-paycheck, no more working at your shitty fast food job until 2 am. You pulled your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans and typed out a message as you walked out of the building and stood on the steps.
You: was it you???
Luke: Was what me, darling?
You: you know exactly what i’m talking about
You sighed, deciding to walk the half a block to your favorite cafe while you waited for Luke’s response. Your relationship with the blond was complicated. He wasn’t quite your sugar daddy, but he also wasn’t fully your boyfriend. It was never meant to spiral into a relationship, but Luke made you want more. Being a Columbia graduate himself, you had met him at a philanthropy event last spring. You had shared drinks and dancing, before he took you back to his large penthouse for a hook-up.
Ever since then, Luke had made it clear that he enjoyed your company. He spoiled you beyond belief, both with material things and with a very active sex life. Being a Wall Street investment banker had given him the attitude that he would take what he wanted, and you were no exception. As much as you were an independent woman in your studies, having Luke in your life took some of the stress away. Going over to his place after a long day of classes, only to receive a mountain of physical affection and usually a gift or two, was just what you needed.
Just as you finished ordering your chai latte, your phone pinged with a new message. You sat down at a cozy table in the corner and pulled out your laptop while you waited for your coffee, looking over the text.
Luke: Come over. You’re done with classes for today, right?
Luke: I’ll order dinner.
You smiled, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen loose from your braid behind your ear. You quickly typed out a message, thumbs flying across the screen. Even as frustrated as you were at the possibility of Luke paying off all of your tuition, you couldn’t help the way your heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing him.
You: getting coffee, then i will<3
You smiled when Luke typed back three red hearts. He was never one for emojis, mostly because of how professional he was. Every now and then though, you were the lucky one to see that softer, less-professional side of him. As soon as your coffee was placed in your hand, you dashed out the cafe door, walking towards the nearest subway station to catch the train to Luke’s apartment at the southern end of Central Park.
Your heart was absolutely racing as you got closer and closer to the blond. Luke was unlike anyone you had ever met. He had an almost electric pull on you. Luke bore a striking resemblance to a prince, or maybe a king. The way he commanded his office and then carried that dominance home to you was probably the hottest thing you had ever experienced in your twenty years of life.
As soon as the subway pulled up to your stop, you were leaping off the train and up the stairs to the sidewalk. As soon as you got out of the tunnel, you couldn’t help but to crane your neck. No matter how many times you came to Luke’s apartment, you couldn’t help but to be in utter awe when you came upon Billionaire’s Row. The sky-high buildings made of glass and steel were highlighted so beautifully by the rest of the city lights.
You hurried your pace a bit, eager to see Luke inside of one of those penthouse suites. Eventually, you came upon the building that you knew all too well. Walking inside the lobby, the man at the front desk smiled at you, his name tag reading Randy.
“He’s home,” he smiled. “Right over here.”
“Thanks,” You smiled. “I don’t mind taking the regular elevator, y’know.”
“Oh, please. Take this one.” he unlocked the private elevator that would take you directly to Luke’s apartment.
“Thank you,” You smiled as the doors began to close when you stepped in. “I’ll see you later?”
“If you leave tonight.” Randy chuckled.
As soon as you were on your way up, your heart began to flutter faster. You hadn’t seen Luke in a few days because the stock market had been picking up and so had your classes, which made you so beyond eager to be around him once again. The elevator dinged and the doors to Luke’s apartment opened.
You stepped out onto the plushy, white carpet, looking around for the blond. “Luke?”
“Hey baby,” he hummed, coming out of the kitchen and wrapping you in a hug. “Miss me?”
You giggled when he buried his face in your neck, his stubble scratching your neck. “I did.” You said sweetly.
As soon as Luke pulled back, you looked up into his deep blue eyes before speaking again. “Luke, were you the ‘anonymous donor’ that paid my tuition?”
“I was. What? I can’t spoil my girl?” he led you into the kitchen, rolling up the sleeves of his white button-down.
“Luke,” You insisted. “I never said that, but that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars. You don’t need to do that.”
“Watch your mouth, princess.” Luke gave you a stern look as he poured you a glass of Merlot.
You blushed, shrinking under his gaze. Even when it wasn’t sexual, Luke had a dominant aire about him. Maybe it was because he worked in such a high power industry, or maybe it was just the way he was, but the blond made you want to submit to him, clinging onto his every word.
“I just want to make sure we’re, y’know, equal. I want to make sure you feel loved, too.”
Luke slid the wine glass across the island to you, where you had taken a seat at the bar. “I don’t need that.”
You snorted. “Contrary to popular belief, you like feeling loved too.” You craned your neck and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Luke rolled his eyes, walking around the island and wrapping his arms around your midsection. “So you wanna know how you can make me feel appreciated?”
“If you wanna call it that, sure.” You shrugged.
“You can be my little toy for the next week. You’re free use for me,” he smirked, growling softly in your ear. “You think that’s equal?”
You nodded quickly, knowing Luke was going to take free advantage of the week, but not caring. “I think so.” You giggled.
“You know I love you, right?” Luke asked. “I don’t want you worrying about your tuition anymore. It’s done, it’s taken care of. You’re going to relax and let me make you feel good, darling.” he hummed, massaging your shoulders.
You blushed under the subtle dominance of Luke’s words, relaxing into his touch. You nudged your head into Luke’s chest and he chuckled softly, knowing exactly what you wanted.
“You’re so cute when you need me, baby girl.” he picked you, holding you under the ass and abandoning your wine glass on the counter so he could carry you to his large master bedroom.
You laid your head on his shoulder, speaking out a soft ‘I love you’. It had been a long day between classes and the stress of the news you’d received and now you just needed Luke to take care of you so you could relax for a little while.
Luke placed you down on his soft, silken sheets when you reached his bedroom, humming softly. “On your knees, honey.”
You did as he asked, kneeling softly and looking up at your dom with soft doe eyes.  You were practically reeling with relaxation and happiness over Luke’s validation. You watched him softly while he bustled around the room, taking off his watch and getting things ready for the night.
“Good girl, baby,” Luke praised you. “You’re doing perfect, honey.”
“Thank you.” You said sweetly, knowing Luke enjoyed it when you responded verbally.
“Go wait in the bathroom for me, honey. I’ll be there soon.” Luke told you, looking at you sternly but speaking softly.
You scampered off to Luke’s luxurious bathroom, wondering what he had in mind. Usually, he would dom you in bed. You wasted no time on kneeling on the bath mat beside the jacuzzi tub, still fully clothed. If there was one thing you loved to do, it was be Luke’s sub. Something about letting someone else take the reins and guide you, sexually or not, helped you relieve your stress from attending such a demanding university.
Luke didn’t make you wait long. He came into the bathroom and saw you kneeling, giving you immediate praise. “Look at you, honey. Waiting like a good girl.” he cooed, flashing that million-dollar smile that had been on the cover of Forbes magazine last month.
You blushed, giggling softly. You could feel yourself slipping into subspace, that floaty feeling taking over your head as Luke fussed over you and took care of you. You leaned into his touch as he ran a hand through your hair, before moving to start the bath water.
“Nothing like a nice bath to help you relax, right love?” he smirked. “Arms up.”
You did as the blond asked and Luke pulled off your sweater. He left your glasses on, but reached for the button on your jeans. Luke slowly helped you stand up and then pulled your pants and your panties off, trailing little kisses from your collarbone down to your pubic bone. You could feel the way your body had completely relaxed into your subspace, molding like jelly at whatever Luke told you to do.
The blond fiddled with the settings on the tub, turning on the jets and adding the red lights, which were his absolute favorite. Luke put your favorite, rose-scented bath bomb into the tub before speaking. “Get in the bath, honey.”
You stepped into the large jacuzzi tub, holding Luke’s hand and sinking into the warm, fizzy water. “Thank you.”
Luke smirked, enjoying the way your face was tulip-pink at all the attention being showered on you by him. He wasn’t going to push you today; he had seen the stress lines that had burrowed their way deep onto your face. Besides, you two still needed to have the tuition conversation and he didn’t want you to be totally fucked out for that. Just enough to help you relax.
“I think you need some entertainment while you’re in the bath, hmm? Wouldn’t want you getting distracted…” he smirked, running his ring-clad pointer finger under your chin.
You immediately rested your chin on the ledge of the large tub, watching Luke with expectant eyes. He pulled back for a moment, just enough to make sure you were fully paying attention, but not enough to make you panic. Luke began to undo the buttons of his white shirt, smirking at you as he teased you so fucking slowly, ringed fingers pulsing as he worked.
Letting out a few soft, sensual moans didn’t seem to phase the blond. He simply continued to slowly undress, making sure you were watching the whole time. He wasn’t not not acknowledging you, but he also wasn’t giving you the attention you were oh-so-craving. Finally, Luke came to his gray, Calvin Klein boxers. He slid them off slowly, smirking at you as he did so.
“Mmmm, want you to dom me, Luke. Please. It’s so big.” You whined.
“Ahh ahh, we don’t whine, honey. I think you forgot to ask nicely, hmm?” Luke stood towering over you, completely naked, but in all his godlike authority.
Even in your fuzzy subspace, you could see why all of Luke’s female assistants fawned over him. He looked like something sent straight from Mount Olympus with his blond curls, perfect nose, and regal body type. He had a commanding aura about him, no matter what he was doing, and despite his multiple (yes, multiple) PhDs from different Ivy League universities, it was easy to understand how he did so well in the New York Stock Exchange.
“Sorry sir,” You whispered out. “Can you please dom me?” You asked in a sultry tone.
“That’s what I like to hear,” Luke planted a kiss on your head as he stepped into the tub with you. “Good fuckin’ girl.”
You giggled and blushed, still kneeling even in the bath. You kept your eyes trained on Luke, which proved a difficult task from here. Luke’s master bathroom was made up of crystal clear glass windows that allowed for a view of practically the whole city since he lived on the 69th floor.  With the sun starting to fade into a hazy dusk and the lights of the skyscrapers popping on one-by-one, it was hard not to get distracted, but you wanted Luke’s pleasure much more than you wanted to enjoy the view.
You and Luke sat face-to-face, and he watched your eyes intently, wondering what joys he would unlock tonight. He began to rub your thigh up and down with his hand under the soapy water, keeping his eyes trained on you.
“Relax, pretty girl,” he whispered. “Just let me take care of you.”
You began to relax under Luke’s touch and gaze, that is, until he began to sneak his fingers closer and closer to your opening. You unconsciously clenched your thighs around Luke’s hand, your nerves sensitive. You began to whimper, wiggling your hips closer to meet his fingers.
“Oh god.” You whined.
Luke smirked, running his fingers along your wet slit and trailing it over your clit. He smirked as he did so, scooting closer to you. “I want you to cum all over my fingers, princess. Get all that stressed properly fucked out.”
You moaned, thrusting your hips against Luke’s pulsating fingers. The blond began to make small, raindrop-like pulses on your electric spot, enjoying the view as you squirmed under him, practically riding his fingers.
“Good girl, honey. Takin’ it like the slutty little school girl that you are.” he coached you.
Your climax was beginning to build up, and you couldn’t help the moans and whimpers that escaped from your mouth as Luke finger-fucked you. As he tapped near your clit, he used three fingers on the other hand to slowly slide them in and out of your pussy.
“That’s it, baby. That feel good? Yeah?” he smiled, knowing you were entirely too close to say anything other than small ‘yes’’s and ‘uh huh’’s.
You were nearly crying as you tried to hold yourself back from clenching and cumming all over Luke’s fingers until he told you to do so. Your sex was absolutely throbbing with the way Luke was touching you, and the warm water from the tub was not making it any easier.
“Luke,” You nearly screamed out. “Making me need to cum.”
The blond gave one last time of really working up your rhythm, before kissing your chest. “Go ahead and cum for me, baby. Cum all over my fingers.”
You didn’t need to be told twice. You quickly released, and your walls began to clench around Luke’s fingers, coating them in your cum. The blond coached you through your climax, offering lots of praise and compliments.
“You are so pretty when you cum, princess,” he cooed when you had finished, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Takin’ my fingers like a good girl.”
You blushed under Luke’s words, leaning your head against his shoulder when he pulled you into his bare chest, hand running up and down your side. Luke had an almost intoxicating way of making your orgasms one of the most exhausting, but best, things you did.
“I think you need one more for good measure. Make sure all that stress is properly fucked out, yeah?” he asked you.
You quickly nodded, never saying no to Luke pleasuring you. The blond ran his fingers through your hair and down your face and upper body, making sure to keep you fully relaxed in subspace. Because you were essentially sitting on his lap, you could feel Luke’s cock hardening under you and you couldn’t help the blush that spread across your cheeks.
“Turn around on your knees, honey,” Luke coached, moving you off his lap. “Right over the jet.”
Doing as Luke asked, you had to bite your lip at the sensation of the rushing water tingling your clit. “Oh.” You moaned.
The blue-eyed man chuckled, caressing your upper back. “Feels so good, doesn’t it, princess?” he whispered in your ear.
You nodded, gripping the edge of the tub to keep yourself steady. Luke grabbed his white button-down that he had oh-so-conveniently placed on the tub ledge. He quickly used it to wrap your hands around the faucet.
“I want to make sure you enjoy this in the right way.”
You moaned at Luke’s erotic words, angling your hips back so that your ass would meet Luke’s boner. He pulled you back by the hips slowly, offering you lots of praise as your body melted like butter in his hands, allowing him to touch where and however. The blond told you to stay on your knees and lean forward into your bond, angling your back, and you whined as you felt the pressure placed on your already sensitive pussy, even without Luke’s dick.
Luke was practically a sex expert, and he knew your anatomy almost better than you did. That being said, he knew he needed to take you from behind in order to hit your G-spot. Your second orgasm was always faster than the first, and he wanted to make sure that he would get the pleasure of you cumming not only on his fingers, but on his dick as well.
He slowly straddled you from behind, his hips pushing into your ass, before inserting only his tip into you. The pleasure on the blond’s face was evident as he heard you release tiny moans and pants, already nearly overstimulated, just from an inch of him inside you.
“Someone’s eager,” he chuckled. “Did studying all day wear you out? Made you nice and needy for my dick, baby?”
You moaned, nodding your head and straddling against your restraints. “Yes…” You breathed out. “Yes sir.”
“That’s what I like to hear. Good girl.” Luke slid more of his dick inside of you, painstakingly teasing you.
You pushed your ass further against him, trying to take as much of him into you as possible. Luke was a big fan of doggy style and you had gone through this many times before; Luke didn’t give in to what you wanted right away, but nevertheless, you always tried. You tried desperately to distract yourself by looking out at the scenic cityspace in front of you, but the view was no match for the magic that was Luke.
“You are so fucking hot when you listen to me, Y/N,” Luke growled, tugging on the ends of your hair slightly. “Obeying just the way you’re supposed to like a good sugar baby.”
You moaned, craning your neck back and arching your back as the jets overstimulated your clit and electric spot and Luke’s dick teased your hole. “Uh huh…oh god, Luke.” You whined.
Finally, after what felt like forever to you, Luke slammed all eight inches of himself inside of you, bucking his hips so that you could feel his shaft pulsating. He began to ride you at an almost frenzy rhythm, slamming his hips into yours so that the sound of skin hitting skin and jacuzzi water splashing echoed around the room. The blond knew that if people in other high-rises looked hard enough, they could see him riding you doggy-style within an inch of your life. He didn’t care, though. You wanted to act like a good sub that was practically begging with your eyes for a slutty fuck, that’s what you would get. Besides, billionaires were too scandalous themselves to speak about their colleagues’ sex lives.
“Luke,” You nearly sobbed out, overstimulated by the jets rocking your clit and Luke railing you from behind. “Need to cum.”
Your second orgasm was always faster than your first and you could feel the tight ball building up in your lower stomach, begging to be released. The overstimulation from pressure on your clit and penetration from Luke was having tears running down your cheeks. Luke wasn’t letting up though. He wanted you to be so worn out that you could just relax and let him take care of you.
“You can cum, honey,” he hummed, fucking into you one last time before slapping your ass. “Cum all over my dick.”
You immediately did as told, crying out and straining against your bond as you released your climax. “Uh uh…feels so good.” You panted out, walls clenching around his cock.
Luke rubbed your back as you did so, gently guiding you through it. “That’s it. Good girl. Cumming all over my dick.”
You moaned loudly, thoroughly exhausted. “Thank you.”
“Ah ah,” he tutted. “You’re not done yet, baby girl,” Luke slowly untied the shirt that had bonded you. “Turn around.” he huffed coldly.
You did as he asked, looking up at him through your lashes. He had a smirk on his face, body radiating dominance and power as he lifted your heads above your head and tied them once again to the faucet with the shirt, only this time, you were facing him.
“You really thought you were gonna be done without me getting my pleasure off you?” the blond asked.
You blushed under his gaze, unconsciously bucking your hips to meet his. “Use me. I love you, so use me.” You panted.
“Think you need a nice facial to help you relax, hmm sweetie?”
You nodded quickly, knowing what Luke was getting at. “Please.” You said, eyeing his massively-hard boner.
Luke began to pump himself with his right hand, rings still on. It was probably the hottest thing you’d ever seen, with his head thrown back, blond curls wet and plastered to his forehead, and his muscles bulging as he worked himself. You wiggled in the grasp of his white shirt, moaning loudly. You were beginning to get cold in the water without his body on you and you were making it very clear that you wanted him again.
“Gonna cum, baby.” he huffed out.
“Do it. Cum all over me, sir.” You whined in a sultry voice.
Luke didn’t need to be told twice. He immediately came all over your face, coating your eyes and cheeks in white ropes of cum.
“God, baby. So pretty.” he said, watching you blink the cum out of your eyelashes as he rode out his high.
You blushed. “It’s because of you.”
Luke reached for a washcloth in the fine basket beside the large tub and dipped it into the water, slowly wiping your face off with the warm, wet rag. “I love seeing you when you know you belong to me, princess.” he crooned.
You giggled softly, loving the floaty feeling that was coming from being in your subspace. “Thank you.”
The blue-eyed man continued to wash you off with the cloth, removing the stickiness from your face and body. Luke looked over and realized he had left a crystal champagne flute by the tub the night before.
“Do you need your hair washed, princess?” he asked.
You immediately nodded, absolutely loving it when Luke washed your hair. “Please.”
Luke smiled, placing a kiss on your forehead before using the flute as a sort of cup to wet your hair and using his own shampoo (which was vanilla scented, but no one else needed to know) to wash your hair. You melted under his touch, allowing Luke to take full control, directing you to close your eyes and lean your head back so he could wash your hair.
“All done, honey. Sit in the bath while I dry off.”
His words hardly registered in your brain. The wonderful feeling of being totally fucked out and having someone wash your hair had made you so sleepy. Luke quickly stepped out of the jacuzzi, wrapping a plush, white towel around himself and grabbing his phone from the vanity. The view of you naked, fucked out, in his huge jacuzzi and against the background of crystal-clear glass and the lights of Billionaire’s Row in Manhattan was too pretty for him not to snap a photo of.
The blond quickly dried himself off and dressed in a pair of cozy gray sweats with no shirt. No matter how much money he made off of Wall Street, that outfit would always be his pajamas. Luke pulled the plug in the tub, lifting you out of the tub easily and wrapping you in a pink towel with your initials monogrammed that you left at his apartment for hookups like tonight.
“Kneel, honey, so I can dry you off,” he told you. “Good girl.”
You melted under Luke’s touch as he dried you off and lathered you with sweet-smelling lotion. He slipped your red, silken nightie with lace details over your head before picking you up. Being your sugar daddy, he figured it was only fair to spoil you after you had pleasured him so well and that was exactly what he planned on doing. Luke carried you to bed, tucking you in softly. “What are you feeling for dinner, baby?”
You shrugged, feeling so sleepy and out of it. “You pick.”
“Nope, it’s your night, princess.” he chuckled softly.
“You already did, well, what you did today with the money and all. Let me order it.” You said, reaching for your phone.
“No ma’am,” Luke jerked it back. “You’re going to let me spoil you. You have two choices, baby. Seafood or steak.”
“..steak. Thank you.” You blushed.
Even though you had known Luke since the spring, you were still getting used to the whole “sugar daddy” thing. It was still rather unfamiliar to you to let someone else care for you, especially someone as rich as Luke. The blond easily ordered the food from both his and your favorite Michelin Star restaurant, easily curling up in bed with you after.
“Thank you for today. For everything. Are you sure it’s okay?” You asked quietly.
“Princess, I told you. The only thing you owe me is free use of that slutty little body for the next week.” he told you, burying his face into your neck as he spooned you.
You blushed and giggled softly, pushing yourself further into him. “That sounds good to me. But seriously, thank you. Helping me with my education means more to me than you know.”
“I know. That’s why I did it. Besides, smart girls are hot girls.” he smirked.
You happily cuddled into Luke’s side, sighing happily. And if Luke spent the rest of the night being beyond soft and caring for you, no one else had to know.

hi my love! been obsessed with the fictional club scene recently; was wondering if you could write me a quick smutty club bathroom/dancefloor blurb!!! have fun with it, i love ya <3 :3
fulfilling the fantasy.
Tumblr media
A/N: i had so much fun writing this, holy shit. this is dedicated to all of the harry & ashton fans in the world (and on the internet!), i see you and i believe you have taste.
gif credit.
summary: in which, you and your boyfriend go out to celebrate a successful first tour gig and the adrenaline seriously heightens emotions. ~ featuring ashton irwin of 5 seconds of summer.
content warning: smut (semi-public p-in-v sex in front of a mirror, voyeurism, threesome (???), dirty talk (degradation + praise), oral sex (male receiving), some hair pulling, daddy kink.) this work is intended for those 18+ and should be read by mature audiences only.
word count: 2.7k+ words.
The post-concert adrenaline hadn’t wavered in Harry’s veins, that much was evident. When you looked at him, all you could see was the radiance of energy and purity of happiness; evergreen in his eyes, the rose color in his lips, the blackness of ink that shone underneath the arctic hues of blue and white in the nightclub you and Harry had ventured to in the darkness of the evening. It was risky going out, especially at a time where One Direction fans were probably having their own adventure, still riding the high of seeing their favorite band perform live, but you nor Harry seemed to care.
Tonight was all about him, all about celebrating a successful first show and the beginning of the On the Road Again tour. The rest of the boys had preoccupied themselves with their own forms of fun, leaving you and Harry by yourselves. Upon entering the venue, you beelined towards the bar, your hand in Harry’s with your heads bowed to try and keep your identities a bit of a secret. You’re in the middle of ordering a round of vodka shots for you both before you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder. You turn your head to get a glance at who could have tapped you, though you’re already suspecting it was a fan.
You were wrong.
“Holy shit, Ashton?” You exclaim, eyebrows furrowing at the man in front of you. Harry’s eyes widen a bit at your words, turning his body fully to face the drummer, abandoning the bartender and the prospect of alcohol. It had been a while since you’d interacted with Ashton in person, only really communicating via text or video chat since you last saw him a year ago. Of course, it had been far longer for Harry; One Direction had 5 Seconds of Summer on tour with them in 2013 and 2014 and they all grew quite close during that time, but their communication had fizzled out due to how busy both bands became.
“I knew it was you!” Ashton grins, hazel eyes glimmering with excitement as the pair of you take each other in. The buzz of chemistry between you and the Australian was palpable – palpable enough for anyone to notice it, including Harry.
Harry’s lips twitch up into a small smile at the interaction taking place in front of him, yet an ugly, gnawing feeling in his gut is slowly beginning to grow; he knew you were attracted to Ashton when you’d met back in 2013 and that Ashton reciprocated those feelings once you both had gotten to know one another. However, you and Harry had just begun dating and knew that nothing would come of your little crush on the drummer. Still, a deep-seated insecurity nestled its way into his bones and, apparently, hadn’t quite left.
Maybe it was the adrenaline coursing through his veins, but the unsettling amount of jealousy your boyfriend was beginning to feel made his evergreen eyes go emerald; hard, darkened. “We’re celebrating tour,” Harry cuts in, instinctively wrapping an arm around your shoulders, “the first show was earlier on.”
“Yeah, I heard through the grapevine,” Ashton replies playfully, “Niall. Niall’s the grapevine. He asked if the boys and I could catch the show, but we were busy. Will you be in Australia for a bit?”
“Yes! Yeah, we’ll be in Australia. 1D has shows in Brisbane and Melbourne.” The words tumble out of your mouth and it sounds as though you’re a walking advert for your boyfriend’s band. Clearly, Ashton finds it cute because he’s chuckling at your unfiltered enthusiasm the minute you stop rambling.
“Well, it was great to see you guys. I didn’t mean to intrude.” He smiles, though his words are a slight dig at your boyfriend; Ashton could tell Harry’s guard was up and the jealousy that he exuded was crystal clear. At least, it was to him.
You, on the other hand, were too wrapped up in excitement to truly take note.
The drummer leaves you and Harry at the bar, going back into the atmosphere of the club. You spot him joining a group of friends at a table. Part of you wishes he’d stay and chat more, but the evening wasn’t about socializing, it was about basking in the glory of your popstar beau.
Everything seems to return back to normal; you turn your attention back to the bar and order that round of vodka shots for yourself and Harry. The two of you are two shots deep before his gaze falls on you, “D’you want to fuck him?”
You choke on the alcohol, sputtering slightly with wide eyes at the incredibly unexpected question. “W-What? What the fuck are you- are you talking about?” You speak between breaths, trying to regain composure. Harry wasn’t usually so direct, this only happened whenever sex was involved, so why he was so upfront confused you a bit.
“Do you want to have sex with Ashton?”
“Harry,” You look at him incredulously, “don’t be ridiculous. No, I don’t want to sleep with Ashton.”
“Don’t lie, Y/N. You’ve always fancied him, we both know that.”
“So what? I’m with you, I love you. Want you, not him. It’s just a little celebrity crush, H. You know I’d-”
“Darling,” Harry interrupts with a chuckle, amused by your immediate instinct to reassure him that you’d never entertain infidelity. He knew how committed you were to him. “S’ not what I mean. I know you wouldn’t cheat on me. M’ askin’ if you’d ever thought about fucking him.”
You weren’t sure whether to be truthful or to set aside your feelings. On one hand, he was only asking you if you’d thought about it or had ever fantasized about it, yet on the other hand, a part of you was sure that if you answered with the truth, he’d get angry with you. However, Harry had never been the type to get angry over honesty. In fact, he preached being truthful.
“I’ve… thought about it, yeah. It isn’t really a fantasy about him fucking me, though. It’s more- well, it’s more about you and him.”
Your boyfriend blinks, “A threesome?”
“Kind of? I- I guess you could describe it that way. You, uhm.. You take turns.”
At this, the popstar is silent. His eyebrows knit together as he thinks for a brief moment.
“We share you.”
You cringe at Harry’s words. The lewdness of his sentence lingers and makes you feel queasy, “When you put it like that, I sound like a slut. I hate how that sounds.”
“Baby, there’s nothin’ wrong with wanting to explore having more than one sexual partner. ‘Spose it is a threesome you’re wanting. I…” He trails off, pearly teeth nibbling at his lower lip as he starts to think deeply once more, diving head first into the depths of his head.
“Yeah?” You coax, eyebrows raising slightly.
“I’ll be honest, m’ a bit jealous about it- the idea of another man takin’ you. But, if it’s just a one time thing, I think I could be okay with it.” Harry replies sincerely, green eyes meeting your own briefly. “One night only, the two of us makin’ you ours for an evening.”
Those words go straight to your core and your brain begins to conjure up filthy images of Ashton and Harry taking turns pleasing you. Your thighs squeeze together in order to quell the heat beginning to bloom in between them. “Please?” You ask quietly, gazing up at your boyfriend with faux innocence; a little look like this tends to send Harry into dominant overdrive.
He smirks, “Text him and tell him to meet us in the bathroom, love.”
Within eight minutes, Ashton is tapping on the club’s bathroom door before swiftly entering and locking it behind him. His hazel eyes glance over at Harry, then at you. “Are you sure about this?”
You’d texted the drummer about the situation when your boyfriend had told you to, not leaving any important details out of it. It was made clear: you, Harry and Ashton, fucking in the club’s bathroom. The only opportunity you’d ever get to have both of the men you deemed incredibly fit and had the most chemistry with.
You nod confidently, “I’m sure, I promise.”
Like a switch had flipped, Ashton’s gaze meets Harry’s again, but there’s a haze in it; his once bright hazel eyes are clouded with desire. Some silent conversation is had between their eyes, maybe it’s both men agreeing to the terms – whatever it is, they both exude an aura of dominance that has your heartbeat increasing. You’ve never wanted to be on your knees this badly before.
The feeling of Harry’s lips brushing against your ear brings you out of your reverie and a short gasp leaves your lips as they trail downward and press a deep kiss to your neck. Ashton walks forward, one of his hands cupping your cheek as he brings his lips to yours, sealing your fate.
The affair becomes a blur of quick movements and kisses shared as time progresses. The soft clink of belts being unbuckled and heavy breathing fills the room when you’re finally brought down to your knees, eyes feigning innocence as you look up at Ashton. His hand is wrapped around his cock, the tip of it right at your lips.
“Go on, baby. Show Ashton how much of a good little slut y’ are.” Harry encourages you, leaning against the sink with his hand tugging slowly at his length. Without much else, your lips wrap around the drummer’s dick, your head bobbing up and down in order to take more of it in.
“Fuck,” Ashton swears through gritted teeth, his free hand weaving itself into your hair, gently guiding your movements, “so good, doll. Keep goin’ just like that for me.”
You do, you allow him to guide your movements with each tug on your hair, furthering his cock into your mouth. It’s sloppy; tears are welling in your eyes whenever he hits the back of your throat, your saliva is coating his dick and your chin. “She’s such a slut for it, Styles. Damn, you got lucky.” Ashton groans low in his throat, which makes Harry smirk.
“Bet you’re absolutely dripping, aren’t you baby? Adore being used, don’t you?” Your boyfriend taunts you, evergreen eyes watching you suck off his friend. All you can do is look at him as validation for his statement.
Ashton’s fingers wrapping in the strands of your hair becomes slightly fiercer, pulling and pushing your lips up and down his length as he chases euphoria. “Fuck, I’m close.” He warns, hazel eyes shutting as he tries his damndest to hold on for just a bit longer.
Your eyes flit towards Harry, who’s still watching you give Ashton a blowjob, his hand tugging at his cock lazily. A devilish grin has throned itself upon his lips, “Cum for her, Ash.”
The drummer’s fingers twitch momentarily, then still. A guttural groan leaves his lips as his head tilts back and his cock throbs in between your lips, emptying himself into your mouth. Eagerly, you swallow what he gives you – and it’s a lot; thick streams of cum paint your tongue white.
Ashton pulls away from you once his cock starts to soften, tucking himself back into his trousers and gently helping you up from off your knees. “That was- shit, that was really fuckin’ good.”
“I- uh.. I’m glad you enjoyed it.” You reply a bit bashfully. “Now, do you mind if Harry and I…” You trail off, hoping he’d take the hint that you wanted to be alone with your significant other.
Thankfully, he does. Ashton turns to look at himself in the mirror above the sink, straightening himself out before saying goodbye to you and Harry, then asking your boyfriend to text him. He unlocks the door and disappears into the club.
You make quick work of locking it once more, then face your boyfriend. Harry gestures you over to him and the minute you’re standing in front of him, both of his hands grip your waist. He wastes no time in undressing your lower half and bending you over the sink, one of his hands reaching to pull at your hair so your eyes are focused on your reflections in the mirror. He’s being rough, but you hadn’t expected much else; whenever he got really aroused, his dominant side would peak significantly.
“Did you like having Ashton’s dick down your throat, darling? I know you did, I can feel just how wet you are.” He teases you, the head of his length pressing up against your entrance. “I think you enjoyed it a bit too much, Y/N. D’you need to be reminded of who you belong to, baby?”
You swallow thickly, eyes meeting his through the mirror, “Yes.”
“Sorry? Didn’t quite hear you, love.”
A shaky sigh leaves your lips, “Yes, Daddy.”
The feeling of Harry’s cock stretching you out overwhelms your senses, your nails claw at the sink as he bottoms out. “Have to be quick,” He grunts as his hips start to move, thrusting in and out of your dripping pussy at an unrelenting pace, “but I’ll make damn sure you know who you belong to once m’ finished.”
You can’t speak, your lips are parted as heavy breaths and choked moans roll off of your tongue as your boyfriend takes you. Harry’s right hand finds your clit, the pads of his fingers start toying with the sensitive pearl. “Look at you, takin’ my cock like the perfect slut that y’ are. Should fulfill more of your fantasies if this is how bloody good you’ll be.” He growls in your ear.
“Yes- yes, please!” You mewl, the prospect of exploring more of your desires with the man that you love makes you more aroused, your pussy clenches around his cock at the thought. “I- I love being your p-perfect little slut.”
“I know, angel. So fuckin’ perfect f’ Daddy.”
A whine leaves your lips, “God, Harry, I’m gonna cum.”
“Not before you tell me who you belong to, baby.”
Another whine leaves your lips; he’s playing a game with you and if you don’t obey the rules, you won’t get to orgasm. You need to orgasm.
“Yours, Harry. I- I’m all yours.”
He gives a particularly rough thrust and his teeth scrape at your ear, “Who’s pussy is this?”
You gasp, “Yours.”
“That’s right, angel. Now you can cum f’ me.”
Harry’s fingers on your clit continue to rub quick circles, his eyes fixated on your features twisting up in pure ecstasy as your orgasm hits you hard; jaw slack, eyes pinched shut, pussy throbbing around his cock.
The feeling of you squeezing around him like a vice triggers his own orgasm. He buries his face into the crook of your neck to muffle the loud groan that reverberates in his chest, his stomach clenching as he empties himself inside of you.
“Holy shit.” You chuckle breathlessly as your orgasms begin to dissipate. Harry’s hand falls away from your clit and he gingerly begins to pull out of you, eyebrows furrowing a bit at the feeling.
“Are you alright?” He asks, helping you steady yourself as you straighten up.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m alright. I do have a question for you,” You begin, just as you both start redressing, “were you being serious about fulfilling more of my fantasies? Or was that the testosterone talking?”
Harry grins, “Definitely not just the testosterone. We’ve never actually discussed what sexual fantasies you’ve had.”
“Do you have any?” You ask curiously, quietly wracking your brain for a possible answer he might give.
“Not very many, but I do have a few. Don’t think we should begin discussing them now, darling. We’ve been in here for a long time.” He replies, taking a quick glance at himself in the mirror, then wrapping an arm around your waist.
“Right,” You giggle, “we should go.”
Harry reaches to unlock the bathroom door and leads you back out into the club, the both of you exiting with smug expressions on your faces and one shared thought…
If this was only one of your fantasies, what else could you both explore?

Hello Y/n!
We received your request form for the annual MTV VMA's seat filler position. Your ticket was randomly selected and we are sending this email as a confirmation of your acceptance.
We hope to see you there!
The MTV Video Music Awards is an award show to honor the best in the music video medium. Of course, I had stumbled upon the application as an ad while scrolling through Instagram- thinking nothing of it when I filled it out months ago.
When I woke up to the confirmation email this morning, I flew out of bed and began picking out an outfit- regardless if I was five hours early. I spent most of the afternoon practicing my best smiles and poses, making sure I wasn't caught on live TV with an embarrassing face.
I stumbled down the steps, constantly checking the time over and over again. It was enough to send chills down my spine- wondering who I would get the honor to sit next to. Justin Bieber? Or even Taylor Swift? A girl can only dream it's someone she adores.
"Ticket please", The man at the front asked in a husk voice, holding up his scanner toward my phone as I showed him the confirmation email instead. His eyes scan it, using his pinky finger to scroll across the email.
"Seat filler..", He scratches his chin for a moment before turning around to speak into his earpiece, leaving me to anxiously bounce between my feet. He snaps back around, pointing behind him before leaning in,
"You're going to go straight down the hall, into the auditorium and find the next open seat. Do not scream or squeal if you're placed by a huge celebrity- it's against your policy and you will be thrown out", He hands me a wristband and I slap it around my wrist, giving him a quick 'thanks' before darting down the hall.
The auditorium was filled to the brim, the loud bickering of voices filled my ears as I tried to focus my eyes at the empty seats. There were limited seats that weren't preoccupied so I found myself circling the same corner until I spotted one in the back. I scooted through peoples legs before plopping down in a vacant seat- or so I thought.
"Excuse me ma'am? You're in my seat", I snap my eyes up and give a faint smile before clutching my purse and brushing past the lady that stood before me. I looked around once more before finding another seat a few rows up.
"Excuse me, Is this seat taken?", I leaned down to ask the man who was busy talking to the brown-haired boy on his right. He averts his gaze over to me before shaking his head and grabbing his water bottle from the seat,
"No not at all, help yourself."
I give him a thankful smile before plopping down beside him, my elbow brushing his as I propped it up on the armrest.
I started at the people seated in front of me, taking numerous selfies of themselves so I awkwardly looked to the right only to be met with hazel eyes staring back at me. He was dressed in almost casual clothes, with the exception of a leather jacket and freshly polished dress shoes. His cologne smelled like it cost more than my apartment's rent and I took note of the fact he may be a celebrity I didn't know.
"Are you a seat filler?", His voice chirps up after a few moments of awkward silence of the self-challenged staring contest. His eyes glance between my eyes and my tight black dress,
"Yeah, are you?", I shift now, turning ever so slightly to the right to fully face him with my purse on my lap.
He gives me a warm smile, flashing his dimples for a mere second before nodding. The announcer, some celebrity who's name I couldn't pronounce, introduces themselves before notifying us that the show was starting. I switch my phone on silent and slide it into my dress' pocket, taking note of the hazel eyed man next to me copying my actions.
A few big named artists preform on the stage in front of me, confetti falling occasionally. I couldn't help but glance over to the boy next to me hunched over to his right with his back towards me. I blow air into my cheeks and begin bouncing my leg nervously. A tap on my arm snapped me from my train of thought and I immediate look down to see a piece of paper at the edge of my elbow.
"This is lame"
I stifle a laugh and look up at him, reaching across to snag the pen from his hand.
"You chose to be here silly"
He leans in closer to read my tiny handwriting before gently taking the pen back,
"Something like that"
He gives a crooked smile and I roll my eyes at him causing him to pass the pen back to me,
"I'm Y/n"
"Ashton"
I whisper his name in my head, trying to put his face to a name before smiling up at him.
"We should do something after this?"
Oh he's bold.
"We could ditch now" I look up hopefully, only to find him shaking his head with a frown.
"Cant" Is all he writes before stuffing the pen back into his blazer and facing his attention to the stage.
I turn my gaze back to the front, subconsciously looking at Ashton through my peripheral vision. He doesn't move an inch nor advert his eyes in my direction for a whole hour.
The announcer walks back on stage, adjusting their hair before speaking.
"As we all know, Song of the Summer is one of the biggest awards to be given out tonight-" They start, toying with the envelope in their hand. "It is voted by fans across the globe and tonight, I'm here to announce who gets the honor to take home this award"
The audience goes silent, my eyes averting back to Ashton whose jaw was now clenched and I could've sworn I saw his eyes watering.
"And the winner for Song of the Summer goes to", the announcer unfolds the tiny envelope in front of them and smiles into the crowd. It was the last award to be given out tonight, and I could see Ashton rubbing his knees with both hands.
"5 seconds of summer!"
Ashton and the men seated next to him shoot up, hands in the air as they start shouting and jumping. The bright spotlight hits my face and I cover my eyes before a rough tug on my arm sends me up from my seat. I'm pulled into a tight embrace, large arms covering my figure as I adjust my head to look up. Ashton was hugging me, jumping up in down with me in his arms.
A song begins playing over the loud speakers and he lets go of me, patting my head before handing me the slip of paper from before.
"See you soon", he shoots me a toothy grin and follows after his friends up towards the stage. I was in disbelief, one second someone is telling you their a seat filler and the next they are a rockstar in sheep's clothing. I turn my gaze to see four pieces of paper taped to the seats that were once occupied by them,
Reserved for: Michael, Luke, Calum and Ashton
I blink a few times before sitting down to read the note that Ashton had handed me.
Hi, sorry for lying. here's my number incase you still wanted to grab a bite to eat?

It was supposed to be a simple “fix-all.” Following the tour for Sounds Good Feels Good, the boys were running on a high. Their names were known all over the world, and they were loved by all girls for not only their music but their looks, too. But with a running high, things must come to an end, as the boys began to falter on their positive fame streak. From negative articles to drama tabloids being released about them, the boys were torn apart by critics and haters alike for their rock star-bad boy attitude. Wherever they made a mistake -one drink too many or ending up in another drama with other celebrities- the press was right there to pick them and prod them where it hurt. The boys’ hands were tied, and it looked like it was the end for their band as they knew it.
“I’m really at a loss here,” their publicity manager sighed, holding a news article in her hand. On the headlines it stated “Aussie Punk Rock Boys Strike Again: Another Party Gone Wrong.” Depicted in the photo were Luke and Ashton’s headshots taken by the L.A.P.D. It was yet another public disturbance report with additional fines allotted because they were under the influence. On top of that, Luke was still underage and not allowed to drink.
“I mean, really,” she pressed, tossing the paper onto the coffee table. “Another disturbance report? I thought I told you guys to cut down on parties and alcohol. What were you thinking?”
And to be completely honest, they weren’t thinking. With press on their backs and paparazzi following them everywhere they went, the boys felt completely constricted. Stress was building up in their systems and they lacked an older figure -someone more knowledgeable in the music industry- to guide them through their early onset of fame. One mistake after the other just egged each other on, leaving them feeling hopeless and self-destructive. It got to a point where Ashton considered doing one last big stunt to end his career entirely. At least then he’d finally get to go back home and away from the drama.
But he couldn’t do that to his boys. His best friends he more so considered brothers had dreamed of moving to L.A. and making music for everyone to hear. Hell, it was his dream, too. He couldn’t possibly throw all of that away for his own selfish desires. Ashton still had to admit that he was getting tired of constantly being under the spotlight with little reward from it.
“I’m sorry Manuela,” Luke said, hanging his head low. “It won’t happen again, I promise.”
“I hope I can count on you guys when you say that,” she said, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Because there’s only so much I can do on my end to get you guys out of the hole you put yourselves into.”
Michael leaned over his knees, determined to make things right. “Tell us what we can do,” Michael insisted. “We can clean ourselves up, we swear. We promised to take this break as a time to fix ourselves and really focus on our music.”
“See, that’s the thing,” Manuela pointed out. “Taking a break is the perfect opportunity to get out of the spotlight and focus on bettering yourselves. But, completely escaping the press and media will make you guys fade out of the music industry. So we have to find an even balance between the two.”
“How?” Calum asked curiously. A frown rested on his tired face. Anyone could tell the bad press was getting to him. It was getting to all of them. “Everyone practically hates us.”
Manuela grabbed the remote from the table and turned on the TV, connected to her computer. “That’s where we come in,” she started, sharing her screen to the boys. “What we need is a fresh face that’s receiving positive feedback to get you guys on everyone’s good side again.” She flicked through meaningless graphs and percentages of social media engagement and views on YouTube for their tour diaries and music videos. Ashton winced at the downward trend for each graph. “My team’s first option was One Direction. But considering the break they decided to go on, it’s obviously not a viable choice anymore.”
“So who do you have in mind?” Ashton spoke up, flicking his hand up to ask his question.
Their publicity manager clicked the remote to change slides. On the screen was a beautiful girl, smiling at the paparazzi. You looked shy, definitely new to the L.A. music scene but confident nonetheless.
“Woah, y/n l/n?” Michael awed. “I’ve listened to her music before. She’s sick.”
“And also America’s new pop princess,” Manuela informed them. “After touring with Taylor Swift as her opening act for the 1989 tour, she’s gained considerable popularity. She’s just moved to L.A. and records at the studio a couple blocks down. She’s new to the industry, but she’s promising.” Manuela switched  off the TV and turned to the boys. “And she’s probably your only option.”
“Hold on,” Ashton said. He was struggling to wrap his head around this. “What do you want us to do with her? Record a song with her? Not to be rude or anything, but her music genre doesn’t mix well with our type of stuff, and I don’t feel like writing lovey-dovey shit.”
Manuela chuckled at his immediate disgust at the idea. “No, we weren’t thinking that,” she reassured him. “For now, at least. What we need is a good influence in your lives for the public to see. Someone like y/n.”
“So what now?” Ashton raised an eyebrow. “We just knock on her door and become best friends?”
“Ash,” Calum scolded him, smacking his knee. “Be nice. y/n and I are mutuals on social media and she’s had nothing but nice things to say about us.”
Manuela snapped her fingers. “Exactly,” she agreed. “Calum and Michael are already acquainted with her. We need a bigger step to bring you guys into the limelight.” The older woman turned to Ashton, ironically the one member that was most against this whole ploy. “We need you to date y/n.”
The four boys let out shouts of differing emotions. Michael was shocked, Calum was confused, Luke was jealous, and Ashton was no doubt opposed.
“Why him!” Luke whined. “He doesn’t want to do it, let me! I’ll gladly date her.”
Manuela shook her head, adamant on her decision. “It’s gotta be Ashton, I’m afraid,” she said. “His “bad boy” persona is the most detrimental to your overall image. He’s got to be the one. Not to mention, y/n requested him specifically.”
“Oh great,” Ashton groaned, voice dripping in sarcasm. “The plan is to sell me off as some pop star’s boy toy? How come she’s in on it and I have no choice?”
“That’s not the plan,” Manuela told him firmly. “It was created in agreement between her team and yours. She needs all the publicity she can get to boost her fame and, well, you guys are aware of your own situation. It’s all for show, Ashton. All we ask is a few dates in public and even a kiss or two for the press.”
Michael snickered. “He won’t have a problem with that,” he muttered under his breath.
“But,” Manuela cut the boy off. “We’re not asking you to marry her. It’s just a few months and then an amicable split. She’s going on tour at the end of the year, and you boys are going on your writing retreat. By then, both of you will be able to part ways and your relationship will be a thing of the past. She gets the publicity, your reputation gets fixed. It’s a win-win situation.”
“Not for me,” Ashton fought back. He wanted nothing to do with this. Hell, he didn’t want anything to do with the band anymore. Each night, he plotted excessive plans to escape his prison called L.A. and fly back to Sydney to be with his family. He was sick of the lights, the glamor, the fame.
He glanced back at his friends. His heart clenched at the dark bags under Calum’s eyes, and Michael’s uncharacteristically extra pale complexion from the lack of sleep. Anxiety had riddled the entire band, and it was clear on Luke’s hands where he had been picking at his fingertips. They were a wreck, and Manuela made it seem like he was their last hope. If he said no, they could pack up their things and go home. He’d get what he wanted all along. But Ashton couldn’t let go of the sparkling looks in their eyes when they received word from One Direction that they wanted them to open up for their concerts. He saw hope in their futures, saw something bigger in store for them. In some way, Ashton could still see that innocence in their eyes, blocked slightly by their stress and nerves. He was their last chance to bring that optimism back.
“I’ll do it,” he gave in. The boys let out whoops of joy, tackling Ashton into a hug. Ashton was frustrated beyond belief, but he faked a smile just to see his boys get their spark back.
Ashton was immediately regretting his decision the moment he stepped foot into the restaurant. The restaurant was too expensive for his taste, the kind of eatery that sold mediocre food primarily for you to post on social media for your “friends” to envy you. If this place was your idea as Manuela mentioned, it was only a mere insight of your personality. And without even meeting you yet, Ashton was beginning to loathe you.
The musician checked his watch again, keeping his head down and away from any prying eyes. You were ten minutes late, and if you kept this up, Ashton predicted you wouldn’t even show up. Ashton swore under his breath, growing more and more annoyed by you. He never should have agreed to this plan.
Suddenly, you came bursting through the door. Your eyes peered around the store before finding Ashton’s, immediately heading to the table he had saved. Ashton fought the urge to roll his eyes at your lack of sunglasses or hoodie. It was like you were begging for attention. Which, now he thought, you probably were.
“I’m so sorry I’m late,” you apologized profusely, setting your bag on the ground and pulling out your notebook. A waitress immediately went to your table to take your orders. Ashton had only wanted water, but you ordered one milkshake and a side of cannolis. “Traffic was terrible, as per usual in L.A. I suppose. And then my publicity manager asked me to get my hair down for today, then she scheduled a nail appointment-” You took a deep breath, running out of air from talking so quickly. “I feel like a dress up doll,” you joked, giving the Aussie a sheepish smile.
Ashton, however, was not amused. He barely returned your smile, his eyes narrowed in annoyance. “Whatever,” he murmured. “Let’s just pretend to look happy when the press gets here. We were supposed to have a ten minute prep time but since you decided to be late-”
“I didn’t decide to be late-” you fought back incredulously.
“We only have three minutes max to plan something good for the press to take a picture of,” Ashton finished, sending a glare your way for interrupting him halfway.
You huffed, deep in thought before concocting something paparazzi worthy. “Just follow my lead, okay?” you said, watching a swarm of paparazzi approach the restaurant. The waitress set down your order and was about to dash off when you asked for two straws.
Ashton raised an eyebrow at your idea, not exactly following along. You stuck the two straws into the glass, taking a healthy sip from it. You let out a moan of delight, smiling to yourself at the taste. Ashton fought the urge to chuckle at your almost innocent-like demeanor. He coughed to cover up his laugh, still stubborn enough to maintain his grudge against your tardiness.
You took the paper wrapping of one straw and glanced up at the drummed in front of you. Tying the wrapper together, you raised the knot up. “Tug the other side,” you instructed.
Ashton gave you a pointed look but pulled the wrapper nonetheless, pulling until the paper gave way and snapped in half. The knot remained on your end, making you cheer in victory.
“I still don’t understand what the hell you’re doing,” he grumbled.
You ignored him, closing your eyes and whispering to yourself. Ashton leaned back, not fighting back an eye roll. “Great,” he muttered. “I’m on a date with a weirdo.” How was this supposed to get the band good publicity?
Opening your eyes again, you set the wrapper down. “I was just making a wish,” you explained as if it was the most obvious thing. “You never did that before? Tie a knot in the straw wrapper, pull, and whoever gets the knot gets to make a wish.”
“That’s,” Ashton took a deep breath. “The biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever heard in my life.”
You scoffed playfully, cocking your head to get a good look at the paparazzi. More photographers approached the windows, taking hundreds of photos of the two of you. “Try smiling more,” you told him. “Maybe people wouldn’t crown you with the “bad boy of the band” title if you did.”
“I’m not the bad boy of the band,” Ashton retorted, smiling nonetheless. It was a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, but it satisfied the press who started flashing their cameras more frequently at the sight of it.
Snorting, you took his hand and weaved your fingers together as you took another sip of your -now shared- milkshake. You let out a quiet giggle despite no one saying anything funny.
“You’re terrible at this,” Ashton deadpanned.
“I’ve seen people do this in movies,” you responded, shaking your head as if he said something unbelievable.
“Doesn’t mean it’s a good idea,” he said back, responding to your head shake with a chuckle.
You hummed, turning away and muttering under your breath, “Look who’s talking.”
Ashton couldn’t help but be amused by your clever comebacks. He never expected you to be able to keep up with his sarcastic comments. But here you were, dishing them out faster than he can create one.
“Anyways,” you continued breezily. “You’re so the bad boy of the band.”
“What makes you say that?” he asked, readjusting his position in his chair to prepare himself for whatever response you’d curated.
You took a pause to collect your thoughts. You took a bite of your cannoli as you thought to yourself. “First off,” you swallowed the remaining bits of the pastry. “In your first album, you’re the only one looking away from the camera frowning. Luke’s looking away, but at least he’s smirking a little bit. That’s big bad boy energy. And the bandana? Come on, you’re trying so hard to be edgy but I see your smile behind the drums.”
Ashton rolled his eyes for the millionth time that day. “Good to know you’ve done your research.”
“I have to get to know my new fake boyfriend,” you waved him off jokingly. “What am I supposed to do? Go into this blind? Surely you’ve done some research about me.”
The Australian musician hesitated to respond. “I may have skimmed the binder?” he responded, a little bit embarrassed. He didn’t expect to have to know everything about you and your career.
You squeeze his hand, reminding him you were still intertwined. “It’s okay,” you assured him. “We’ll have plenty of time to get to know each other later.”
You both turned to the windows and noticed the swarm of photographers only grew in size, all of them in huddles behind cars. “You think we gave them enough to look at?” you asked. Not waiting for a response, you placed a couple bills on the table and pulled Ashton up with you.
“Where are we going?” Ashton questioned as you both braved the outdoors, instantly getting bombarded by the paparazzi. Taking on a protective boyfriend role, Ashton wrapped an arm around your shoulders and lent you his sunglasses to wear.
“Don’t worry!” you said, raising your voice a bit due to the loud calls of interviewers calling out to them. “I know a place!”
You sprinted down the street and took a sharp right, tugging Ashton along with you. Impressively enough, you were fast enough to lose the press. Soon enough, you found the place you were looking for and dove in.
The drummer blinked a couple times, trying to regain his sight after the millions of flashes nearly blinded him. Once his vision turned back to normal, he looked around the room to see a relatively empty restaurant. The lights were dim and gave the feel of a speakeasy but also had sweet handmade decorations adorning the walls. The place was endearing to him, somehow, because of how unabashedly unique it was.
You directed Ashton to your favorite table in the back corner while you went up to the counter to order for the both of them. By the time Ashton had gathered his bearings in his seat, you returned with a tray full of food.
“Welcome to the “Quilted Corner,” you introduced him to the cafe. “Everyone’s favorite eatery in the darkest corner of Los Angeles. And by everybody I mean probably just me and five other people.”
Ashton nodded dubiously, understanding the unique name for the place once he got a good look at the grandma-esque decorations.
“And what do you have in your tray of horrors?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at the assorted foods.
You began to divide the food between the two of you, the mountain of greasy foods slowly turning into a valley and then nothing at all.
“I’m going to change your goddamn life, Irwin,” you declared, taking a napkin and wiping your hands with it. “This is the order Granny Stevenson -the owner- recommended to me when I first came here. I was lost in the city looking for a place to duck and cover from the paparazzi and came across this lovely place.”
You gestured to the spread of foods. “This is the “homesick cure,”” you told him. “It consisted of two double cheeseburgers, a side of fries, and a milkshake. All completed with Granny Stevenson’s special sauce.”
“And a heart attack,” Ashton deadpanned.
You ignored his statement. “This place is really special to me,” you confessed. “It actually cured my homesickness and Granny Stevenson is a grandma-away-from-home to me. This place is where I go to write songs or just get away from it all.”
Ashton poked at his order, a thin film of oil coating his fingertips. “I don’t see the inspiration factor here,” he said, his nose scrunched up. “It just looks like another fast food place in America.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, sad mis-fed rockstar,” you said with a smirk. You pointed at the one last item you didn’t mention. “Behold the Grandpa Stevenson special.” You held up the dish and smelled it deeply. “A blueberry cheesecake made in-house with all the love this place can put into it. Name a place that sells that kinda love, Ashton.”
“I’m pretty sure Burger King sold that at one point in a mall food court,” he snipped back.
You narrowed your eyes at the pessimistic drummer. “Not sold with love,” you reminded him. “Besides, they actually make this stuff here. No processed shit, only love.”
Ashton scoffed, turning his head away from the table. Love. What a load of bullshit. If you were gullible enough to buy into the “love” this restaurant sold you, you definitely wouldn’t make it in the cut throat music industry. You were too innocent. It was only a matter of time until those producers and media companies tear you apart like they did with him and the band.
Despite his negative attitude, he took a fork and tried a piece of the cheesecake. The light dessert just about melted on his tongue, the flavors of cream, blueberry, and cinnamon dancing along his tongue. It was the best thing he’s ever tried.
“Told ya,” you sang, eating your own meal with a knowing smirk on your face.
Ashton feigned a look of disgust. “You didn’t tell me shit,” he grumbled. “It tastes like every other cheesecake.” That was a lie. It wasn’t like anything he’d ever tasted. Somehow, it tasted like home.
You tried to wipe your messy face with a napkin. “No one that thinks this is an average cheesecake makes that kinda face.” When Ashton didn’t understand, you sighed, preparing to make the same face. “It’s the look you get when you touch down in your hometown after an eleven hour flight. Or the face you make when you write a banger bridge for a song you’ve dedicated weeks to. Or it’s the look you get when everything makes sense in the world.”
Ashton stabbed his cheesecake and shoveled more of it into his mouth. Pure Heaven. “Whatever,” he huffed.
The two of you finished the rest of your meal in silence, aside from sighs of content from you because the food was that damn good. You finished off your milkshake, but not before picking up the straw wrapper and tying a knot, just like you did at the cafe before.
“Pull away, rockstar,” you instructed. Reluctantly, Ashton followed suit and tugged at the paper, the knot ending up on his side this time. You cheered, clasping your hands together. “It’s your turn now! Your first wish that shall be granted by the straw gods.”
Ashton shot you a look before tossing the wrapper to the side. “I don’t really care for wishes,” he stated plainly. You frowned at his negative attitude and that look alone made Ashton’s heart lurch. He instantly felt bad for the way he’s been treating you; it wasn’t your fault the press hated him. But still, he couldn’t help but put some blame on you. It was better than wallowing in self hate, he supposed.
“It’s okay,” you collected yourself. “You can save that wish for when you need it.”
“I’m pretty sure I’m not going to need it,” he responded sarcastically.
You chuckled, taking a bite out of Ashton’s cheesecake. He let out a shout of protest but you paid no attention to him. “Trust me,” you assured him. “There’s always a time when you need a wish in L.A.”
“She’s weird,” Ashton grumbled, readjusting the cuffs of his button up. The boys were preparing for their interview with Buzzfeed in their shared dressing room, fighting for space in front of the mirror.
It’s been a total of three months since you and Ashton started your fake relationship and the media has been eating it up. They followed the both of you everywhere you went, hiding in cars and in alleyways to get a glimpse of the so-called happy couple. You played your part well, holding his hand in public and kissing his cheek whenever you had the opportunity. From the public’s point of view, Ashton was just as taken by you as you were with him. The media fawned over his boyish grin and blush whenever you’d readjust his beanie in the winter cold.
On your end, you were genuinely falling for the boy. Behind closed doors, he was just a boy from Australia, new to the fast paced life of being a celebrity. You saw through his cold facade, slowly cracking through the walls he put up around his heart, and you had a feeling you were growing on him. He’d still quip sarcastic comments and roll his eyes, but you didn’t miss the small smile that would rest on his face when he thought you weren’t looking. As rare as his genuine smiles were, you relished those moments because it was the only times you’d see the real Ashton, not the one he’s put out for the paparazzi.
Ashton, however, was still holding out his grudge against you, albeit very weakly. His tough exterior was indeed toppling slowly. Your kind nature was just too sweet to not find you a little endearing. Ashton would never admit that you had grown on him a little, and a small part of him possibly looked forward to your weekly dates. He learned so much from you, it was as if he never wanted to stop listening to you. Not that he would tell you that, though.
“That’s all you’ve ever said about her,” Michael shot back, glancing at the mirror to check his hair one more time. “Come on, mate, it’s been three months. Surely you have something new to say about her?”
Calum agreed wholeheartedly. “Yeah, she’s come to the studio during her breaks from recording. That’s not even in your dating contract but she still does it.”
“Not to mention she gets us coffee every time,” Luke piped up. “That coffee is addictive, where does she get it?”
Ashton couldn’t help but smile at the thought. He knew you’d always stop by the Quilted Corner -no matter how far of a walk it was- to pick up some coffee. And he knew you always tried to be slick about it, but he’d always catch you tucking away a slice of blueberry cheesecake in the band’s fridge, just for him. He’d never mention it, though. He wanted to let you have your fun.
Calum let out a shout, pointing at the drummer accusingly. “Aha!” he cheered. “I knew she was growing on you!”
“What the hell are you going on about, Cal?” Ashton demanded, exasperated by his friends’ antics.
Calum continued his childish shimmy, the other boys gleefully joining in. “You got that dumb smirk on your face,” Calum smugly pointed out. “You’ve got it bad for y/n, don’t you.”
Before Ashton could respond, the director shouted, “Five minutes till shooting!” Glaring at the boys to keep them silent, Ashton made his way to the chairs in front of the camera, silently praying for this interview to be quick and over with.
“Welcome to Buzzfeed, boys,” the director’s assistant approached them with a smile. She was petite but her voice was strong and insistent. “Make sure to always look at the camera, but above all, smile and don’t look down. The viewers want to see your faces, okay?” Nodding in confirmation, the boys readied themselves for the camera as the assistant swiftly moved out of the way.
“Yeah Ash, don’t doze off dreaming of y/n,” Luke snickered into his ear, making the other boys chuckle along with him -aside from Ashton, of course.
The interview went as well as one could expect. The questions about the boys’ past were still continuously brought up but the boys answered the questions with grace they could only credit to Manuela. Luckily enough, the interviewer seemed to enjoy their responses, noting a significant maturity in the boys. They seemed to have gotten over their party phase and turned into serious musicians during their break from tours and parties.
“Final question is for Ashton,” the interviewer shuffled through their papers. “Sources have spotted you and new singer songwriter y/n l/n around L.A. quite a bit following the end of the North American 1989 tour. Now, you both have confirmed your relationship and made it very clear you two are together. Has y/n been an influence in the reshaping of your image in the media?”
Ashton bit the inside of his cheek. Just remember what Manuela rehearsed with you, he thought.
“Yeah, y/n’s been great,” he answered, trying to not sound as monotone as he did during his practice runs. “She’s been such a great influence to me and the boys, always keeping a positive outlook on things. I learn a lot from her, and I’d like to think she’s learned quite a bit from me, too.”
“Like jumping into the neighbor’s pool at midnight?” the interviewer jested, referencing the one time Ashton had drunkenly trespassed his neighbor’s home while they were on vacation.
Ashton tried not to cringe at that one memory, heavily wanting to keep that part of him in the past. “Definitely not that,” he laughed awkwardly. “But definitely in a sense of navigating newly received fame and things like that.”
“That’s great to hear,” they hummed. “Should we be expecting anything from you guys? Maybe a collaboration of some sort?”
The drummed shrugged his shoulders honestly. “It’s all up to her,” he responded. “We’re still taking a break from touring, but we do have an album in the works. Writing music with her is definitely on the table, for sure.”
Ashton wasn’t sure what word vomit was spewing from his lips. Last time he checked, it wasn’t up to you whether or not you wanted to collab with the boys (you were clearly apprehensive about invading his space), he didn’t want to write music with her (possibly due to the fact that the last time you had a joint writing session, he was stuck staring at you curled up on the other side of the couch; you were just mesmerizing but he’d never admit that aloud), and he hated lovey dovey shit (because he hated the warm feeling brewing in his stomach whenever you’d smile or laugh at his jokes). But it wasn’t like he liked you, right? He had to focus on his career, his boys, his life. Not a relationship that’s destined for failure no doubt because of the media.
“I’m afraid that’s all the time we have for you guys, thank you so much for coming to our studio today!” The interviewer finished off the closing statements for their interview while Ashton was left inside his head.
Truth be told, he was conflicted. He had, in fact, gotten significantly closer with you, closer than he’d expected to be at the very least. He still tried to be closed off, tried to push you away from him so he wouldn’t get attached and heartbroken in the end. You just made it so damn difficult.
“Nice responses, Ash,” Michael patted his shoulder as they gathered their things in their dressing room. “Really downplayed how much you liked her there.”
Ashton raised an eyebrow while picking up his phone from the side table. He was stupid enough to not look at the text messages. Particularly the ones from you that stated you were on your way to the studio for your own interview.
“What are you saying, Mike?” Ashton asked tiredly, tired of the relentless teasing and questions he’s gotten about you all afternoon.
“Mike’s saying that we know you’re in so deep with her,” Luke spoke up from the back as he slipped on his jacket. “Like, L-word close with her.”
Love? Why the hell would he love you? This was all a fake set up for their careers, why didn’t they get that?
“Can you guys knock it off?” Ashton snapped, finally raising his voice. “I don’t like y/n and I never will. I don’t even like her as a friend. She’s obnoxious, annoying, and so unbelievably difficult to work with; the two of us will never work out. And thank God for that because if I have to spend more than 10 months with her to save your asses’ careers, I’m leaving the fucking band.”
“Ash-” Calum said meekly.
“No!” he cut him off harshly. “I’m sick of being pushed around like a fucking doll for publicity. The band was doomed from the start because the press won’t leave us the fuck alone. And using y/n as a last Hail Mary is as stupid as it is useless. She’s going to be nothing more than a washed up young celebrity like the rest of us and fade to the past.”
“Ash!” Michael stopped him. “That’s enough, we get it.”
Ashton didn’t piece together their hastiness until it was too late. He turned around to see you standing before them. He didn’t even hear the door open. Your eyes were welling up as your mouth was slightly opened by his outburst.
“Hi guys,” you weakly greeted them.
Ashton took a step forward, freezing when he saw you stagger back. “y/n,” he whispered, unable to know where to start with his apology.
“I have an interview in ten minutes,” you informed them quickly. “I’ll see you around later, yeah?”
You seemed to have taken that as final as you pushed them out of the dressing room and closed the door shut. You didn’t move from the door until you heard all of their footsteps trail off and out of the studio. You let out a shaky breath you didn’t even know you were holding in as you hang your head low. And to think you thought he actually might have liked you, too.
A knock interrupted your thoughts. “Ms. l/n?” a voice spoke up. “My name’s Ryan and my buddy Shane and I wanted to know if–”
“Sorry,” you said, opening the door sheepishly. You hoped your face wasn’t giving away your embarrassment and hurt you were experiencing. “I-um, I think I need to be alone for a sec.”
“Oh!” the taller one exclaimed. “To call Ashton? I think I saw him walk that way.”
You bit your lip, nodding painfully slow. “Yeah,” you croaked. “Thanks, I’ll be headed there soon.”
You didn’t leave any time for debate or questions as you pushed through the pair and walked in the opposite direction, straight to the bathroom. The two men glanced at each other in concern.
“What’s up with her?” Shane asked.
Ryan only shrugged his shoulders. “I guess it’ll remain unsolved,” he mused wisely.
“That’ll be a great name for a show one day!”
“I know right?”
You were lucky that there was enough conflict in both of your schedules to postpone your date to three weeks after the interview. To say you were anxious was an understatement. You picked at your fingernails as you waited for Ashton to arrive at the park.
You were conflicted with the entire agreement. A part of you wanted to end the agreement, rip the contract into shreds. Ashton was right, wasn’t he? This plan was useless, and your fifteen minutes of fame were almost up. It was only a matter of time until you were no longer relevant. Then what would you do? You’d have to go back home and start over, and maybe that’s better than what you had for yourself now: a fake relationship for attention.
But at the same time, you had fallen hard for Ashton. Behind his rough exterior was a shy musician that was passionate in what he did. He loved music, but loved his friends and family more. You admired him for that, realizing that he only had a harsh image because he was protective of who he loved. You only wished that he saved that part of himself for you, too.
“I didn’t think you’d come,” a soft voice spoke behind you.
You turned around on your bench to see Ashton standing, hands sheepishly in his pockets. His cheeks were red from the cold as his eyes were trained on the ground.
“Of course I did,” you responded somewhat brusquely. “It’s part of the contract, afterall.”
Ashton scoffed, making you raise an eyebrow irritatedly. You had every right to be a bitch to him. He was the one bad mouthing you in the first place. Your mixed emotions had sat in your stomach for the past few weeks. Your anger was winning out the heartsick feeling.
“What are you scoffing about, rockstar?” you quipped, disgust filling your tone instead of affection as it usually was in the nickname you gave him. “I signed that paper as much as you did.”
“It wasn’t like it was my fucking idea,” he shot back, frustration fueling his voice. He pulled at his hair and laughed, but there was no humor behind it. “In case you forgot, I was forced into this bullshit! And to think I was actually going to apologize to you.”
“About which part?” you shouted back sarcastically. “The part where you called me obnoxious and annoying? Or how about when you couldn’t stand to spend any more time with me or else you’d quit the band? Oh I know! How about when you called me a washed up celebrity? Take your pick, rockstar! You’ve got plenty to choose from!”
“Don’t fucking call me that!” he raised his voice higher than he ever had before. “God, I’m fucking sick of you and your “holier than thou” bullshit! You’re only in this shit for the money and the fame. I’m tired of playing this game and being a fucking plot device to launch your career! Maybe if you actually had substance instead of putting up the “innocent girl from a small town” act, people would like you more! Because Jesus fuck I don’t!”
What Ashton failed to realize was that your ten minute grace period between meeting and the paparazzi coming was up. The photographers circled around you like predators stalking their prey, starving for anything to satisfy their appetites. You were too caught up in your argument, too, oblivious to the prying eyes of the public.
“Don’t act like you’re so perfect,” you spat. “You want my honest opinion about you? I think you’re nothing but a stuck up member of a boyband who’s pissy because the attention’s no longer on him anymore. Face it, Ashton! You’re just like everybody else here! Self-centered, fucked up, and ignorant as all hell. Maybe that’s why the media fucking hates you! It’s not because they twist your actions, you just are a fucking terrible person and it’s about time you realized that!”
Ashton silently seethed, opening and closing his fists as he tried to find the right words to say. “You really think that?” he asked in a low tone. He wasn’t really sure if he wanted to hear your response. Despite his harsh words, he truly craved your validation and he knew that he wasn’t going to hear what he wanted.
“Yes,” you swallowed. “I do.” Silence filled the cold air as you stood at a standstill. The air filled your lungs like icy needles, not yet thawed for the seasonal change that was yet to come. It was like a test between the two of you. Who was going to be the first to bite the bullet and say what’s been on your minds?
You made your decision. “Let’s end this,” you said, voice wavering. “Let’s put the both of us out of our misery and end this once and for all. I think we both got enough of each other.”
Ashton was taken aback. He thought the same thing, but he didn’t think you’d be the one to say it. If he was being honest, he didn’t want to end it. If he could spend the rest of his life on a tightrope, teetering towards anger and frustration for eternity just to be with you, he’d do it. But he knew he was hurting you as much as you were hurting him. He knew what he had to do.
“Good,” he agreed, mustering enough strength to not cry right there. He really was losing the one good thing he had going for him. And it was all his fault. “I’ll have Manuela reach out to your manager. You can..lose my number, I guess.”
“If that’s what you want,” you told him smoothly. On the inside, you were crumbling apart.
Ashton forced a nod. “Yeah, that’s what I want.”
He didn’t expect things to get as bad as they did. Ashton knew the paparazzi was everywhere, he always did. But dammit, he got so lost in his anger that it slipped his mind. And the one time it did, everything went wrong.
But for the first time, the blame wasn’t on him. Not in the eyes of the media, at least.

On every magazine and gossip column was a picture of your encounter with Ashton at the park. Lucky for Ash, the media only got a glimpse of your rant at him and didn’t get any footage of him yelling back at you. To the public, he looked like the innocent party while you looked completely wicked.
Oh God, Ashton thought. I just ruined her life.
The weeks that followed were rough. Manuela called for a group meeting and told them that their ratings have gone through the roof. 5 Seconds of Summer were finally back on the good side of the press and were labeled as the “innocent boys from Australia” that got “led down the wrong path.” Manuela was happy that her plan had worked; 5SOS is back on track, but she was disappointed at what it cost.
“Is there anything we can do to help her?” Michael asked at the end of the meeting.
Manuela pressed her lips together. “I’m afraid not,” she sighed. “y/n’s manager cut off all ties with us. I think we got the message that she wants nothing to do with us.”
Calum checked his phone, cringing at the amount of tagged posts he was in. All of them bashing you and everything you’ve worked so hard to create.
“We have to do something,” Calum pleaded. “She’s not just a coworker; she’s a friend. She’s always been there for us, even if Ash wasn’t here, she’d come by. We can’t leave her hanging like this.”
“Ash,” Luke turned to his friend, blue eyes pleading and desperate. “Can you talk to her? Maybe we can work something out. Anything.”
Ashton stammered before he responded. What could he do? He was the very last person you’d want to see right now. He got you into this mess and painted you out to be a monster. The blame should have fully been on him. You wouldn’t have yelled at him if he didn’t push you over the limit.
“Why should it be me?” he asked. “She hates me.”
Michael scoffed at his friend, clearly upset at his poor attempt at weaseling his way out of this. “You’re joking,” he deadpanned. “She adored you. Whether you liked her or not she was your biggest supporter. When you weren’t around at the studio, she talked the world about you. You may have not liked her, but she loved you. So you have to fix this.”
“Boys, relax,” Manuela insisted. “I’m certain her publicity team has a plan set for situations like these. She’s probably going to keep quiet for a while then re-emerge into the public scene again once the public wounds have healed. So it’ll be in her best interest and yours if you keep quiet and not cause a scene. Not when the public finally has a positive outlook on you.”
“That’s so..” Luke huffed defeatedly. “Wrong.”
Manuela patted his knee comfortingly. “That’s the music industry, love.”
You truly fell off the face of the earth. Ashton was at a loss. After the presumed “silent break” you took, he thought you’d get back into the swing of things. Media tabloids had died down, and it seemed like the public had forgotten about your argument and moved onto the next interesting thing. But you didn’t come back. Not even to your studio, the place remained empty. You didn’t respond to his calls, all of them going straight to voicemail. Your manager only picked up her phone once, insisting he stopped calling if he knew what was best for him. Not even your friends answered his frequent dm’s.
Your instagram was dormant. The last post was of Ashton a month back, playing his guitar and smiling down at his lyric book. He didn’t even realize you took that picture until you posted it. He was a little shocked that you kept it up, considering all things, but at the same time you didn’t post anything anymore. You used to post everyday, updating everyone about your hectic life. All that was left were the photos that remained on your page. Ashton had caught himself too many times scrolling through, just to see your smiling face again. He beat himself up over the fact that his last glimpse of you in person was nothing but a broken shell of who you once were.
Ashton pushed the door open, entering the last place he thought of that you could possibly be in. The smell of the restaurant was the same as it always was, full of spices and sweets that made his mouth water. But he had to stay focused. He needed to find you and talk to you.
Behind the counter, an older couple approached him. Ashton immediately recognized them as the Stevensons, the couple you adored more than their own food. It seemed like they recognized him too once they reached the counter space.
“You must be Ashton,” the older woman said, readjusting her glasses. Her wrinkles appeared as she greeted him with a smile, a sign that she lived a life full of laughter and smiles. The kind of life you confessed you wanted desperately. “y/n has spoken so highly of you.”
Ashton ducked his head, blushing at the compliment. Even when you were gone you still managed to light up the room and make him seem like a better person than he actually was. “That’s actually why I came here,” he told them. “I was wondering if you had seen y/n come by.”
The gentleman beside Mrs. Stevenson shook his head. “Afraid not, son,” he responded. “Not for a while, actually. We were quite disheartened about that, but that girl is always so busy, isn’t she?” Ashton smiled, trying not to wince as he cringed on the inside.
“Let me make you something, honey,” Mrs. Stevenson insisted, rushing to kitchens before he could refuse.
Mr. Stevenson ushered Ashton to the booths, away from the restaurant regulars. Ashton ran his fingers through his hair, the rain soaking his brown locks. Spring was a bitch with the rain, but he knew how much you loved it. “What brings you here, son?” he asked. “You usually come with y/n. Don’t tell me she’s in any sort of trouble now, is she?”
Ashton sat down, dusting off his jeans. “Not exactly,” he answered honestly. “H-have you not heard in the gossip tabloids?”
“Oh no,” Mr. Stevenson waved his hand. “We were never one for those magazines. Sarah is always strict on rechilut.”
Ashton nodded along. “I did something wrong,” he confessed heavily. “And I hurt y/n. Not physically, but honestly it feels worse. I want to make things right, but I don’t think she even wants to talk to me.”
“That’s nonsense,” Mr. Stevenson insisted. “y/n would never cut ties with people like that. Especially you, she was very fond of you.” It seemed like everyone knew that except for Ashton himself. “y/n talked to me like I was her own grandfather. Now, all my kids are grown up and moved out of California, so they don’t come around much. I appreciated her company, and I know for a fact that you shouldn’t give up on her.”
The drummer’s shoulders slumped guiltily. “I don’t think I deserve that,” he told him. “I was awful to her. I did everything wrong. I don’t think she’d believe me if I told her I loved her all along.”
“Do you really love her?” Mr. Stevenson asked him softly.
Ashton looked up into the older man’s gray eyes. He saw so much life, so much wisdom in them. If he looked deeper, he saw himself in his eyes, the him he missed all along. “Yes,” he answered truthfully. “I really do.”
Mr. Stevenson patted his shoulder affectionately. “Then lead with that,” he advised him. “I’ve lived a long life, Ashton. And most of my life has been spent with my dear Sarah. If there’s anything I learned from that, it’s that sometimes you need to shut the hell up and let your love speak for you.”
Ashton let out a tearful chuckle at his advice. Mrs. Stevenson rushed out of the kitchen, a steaming plate in hand. The older woman set it on the table in front of him.
“I hope you don’t mind that I guessed what your homesick cure was,” she said sheepishly. “Artie said I should stop guessing but I had a gut feeling on this one. I was right for n/n, I hope I was right for you.”
Mrs. Stevenson set down the plate to reveal a healthy serving of spaghetti and a glass of water on the table. Ashton’s heart clenched at the sight. “Did I get it right, dear?”
Ashton couldn’t even respond, he just nodded wordlessly like a child on Christmas morning, eager to play with his toys. Mrs. Stevenson chuckled at his response, ruffling his hair gently like a mother would. “Eat it while it’s hot, honey,” she told him. “And I’m sorry, but it seems like someone forgot to order another package of straws. You’ll have to drink from the glass, I’m afraid.”
Artie stood up from his side of the booth, playfully rolling his eyes. “I’m on it, honey,” he responded, following closely behind his wife. Before leaving to the kitchen, he turned around and gave the boy a wink.
Left to his own devices, Ashton tucked his hand into his jacket and nearly jumped out of his seat in shock. Pulling it out, he realized it was the knotted end of the paper straw wrapper from so long ago. Turns out he really did need that wish.
“Let me make things right,” he wished in his head. “I just want one last chance to do the right thing.”
Setting it on the table, all Ashton could do was hope that whatever was out in the universe heard him.
–
Soon enough, you did emerge from the shadows of your hiatus. You were lucky to have a loyal enough fanbase to keep you afloat, and your tour was still set for that summer. You were grateful for the fans that stuck around, and the new ones that came along the way. It was a rough journey, but you tried your best to power through it to the best of your ability.
Now, you were in your dressing room at the venue you were expected to perform in, an absolute fucking wreck. You were curled up on your couch, trembling and unable to even raise your head from your chest. Sobs filled your room, but you insisted to every manager and passersby that you needed to be alone and fix it yourself.
To tell the truth, you never truly recovered from the media frenzy that took you and Ashton by storm. You knew you had every right to turn the tides on him, revealing to the world that he wasn’t the perfect saint everyone painted him out to be. But you didn’t, and no one on your publicity team was able to figure out why.
The reason was that you were still unexplainably attached to Ashton. Somehow, even though he put you in the situation where everyone started to hate you, you couldn’t help but now be able to understand why he acted the way he did. How he was overprotective of the boys and acted out of self preservation simply because of how cruel the media could be. By no means did you excuse him for putting you in that situation, but you still grasped some understanding.
The difference between you and the drummer, however, was that he had a support system: his boys. You were practically alone to deal with the mess, cornered and vulnerable.
You were shaking frantically in your room, unable to free yourself from your thoughts. Only one look at your phone caused your entire psyche to crumble. One fucking tweet about you shook your confidence. Some anonymous user critiqued your music, only attributing your success to your past “relationship” with Ashton. Those simple words broke down the walls you were just beginning to rebuild, and now you were stuck in your dressing room, thirty minutes before you were called onstage.
Meanwhile, Ashton was navigating through the maze backstage looking for you. A bouquet of your favorite flowers were in one hand, a handwritten card in the other. He figured you’d be somewhere backstage, prepping for your show. He didn’t count on you being in your dressing room since you told him in the past that you loved to watch the crowd from behind the curtains.
But to his shock, you were still in your pajamas hyperventilating on the couch. Ashton has witnessed this before; he’s experienced this before. But seeing you go through the same struggles he and his boys went through caused his heart to ache even more.
“y/n?” he called out to you. You didn’t respond, eyes still trained on the ground as your grip around your legs tightened. Ashton set his things down on the side table, instantly kneeling in front of you.
“Ashton?” you finally spoke, voice raspy and exhausted. For a split second, you thought you were actually hallucinating, envisioning the one man you needed but feared the most. But his cologne wafted into your nostrils, alerting you it was him in the flesh. “What are you-” You heaved a deep breath, choking out a sob. You could barely take the overwhelming stress towering over you like a deadly ocean wave. It was only a matter of time until it took you under and swallowed you whole.
“Love, I’m going to need you to breathe,” he instructed, his hands finding yours. In your anxious state, you were able to distract yourself from your worries at the mere touch of his calloused fingertips. It was a silent calling to you, gently beckoning you back into reality but not quite succeeding.
Ashton took your hand and pressed it against his chest, tucking it underneath his slightly unbuttoned shirt. His warm skin electrified your palm, making your heart race -not from the anxiety- but from butterflies. “Pay attention to my breathing and try to copy it, okay?”
At first, you struggled to listen to his instructions. You worked on your anxiety with your therapists over more sessions than you could count. You tried box breathing, yoga, and even journaling but nothing ever calmed your nerves, especially after the media went after you.
But suddenly, you concentrated on the slow rise and fall of Ashton’s chest. The way his chest hair tickled your palms in a way that made you want to scrunch your nose at the feeling. How his heart was beating nearly out of his chest but you could tell he was trying to minimize it so he could attend to your needs first.
You felt your Ashton.
Moments that felt like hours passed until your breathing went back to normal and your tear stained cheeks dried. Ashton kept your hand against his chest, occasionally squeezing it to bring you back to reality when you teetered back into spiraling. This time, though, he rose from the ground and sat beside you. You let him move your legs over his lap as he practically held you against him. His smell was overwhelming. You could smell his cologne and shampoo, even the faint scent of weed from off his lips. He was intoxicating. He was the drug, dangling above your head, and you were weak, enthralled, captivated, addicted.
You found yourself leaning in to kiss Ashton, a real kiss this time. No corner of the lip bullshit that the press ate up every time. You didn’t expect him to kiss you back with the same fervor as you, hand wrapping around your waist and the other behind your head. It was sloppy, wet, and all shapes of perfect that you couldn’t describe. The taste of tea and weed transferred from his lips to yours as he pulled you in deeper. You gripped his shirt in your fist, hoping in your mind to mold your body against his and disappear from the world, anything as long as you were with him. His love was your poison and, at the same time, your cure.
Reality began to sink in, making you push Ashton away forcefully and standing on your feet. He flew back into the couch, eyes wide and lips swollen. His perfectly slicked back hair was a gorgeous mess, curls gracefully falling down his face. Confusion riddled his face as he watched you curl back into yourself.
“What are you–”
“I shouldn’t have done that,” you whispered, unsure if you were saying that to him or yourself. “Why did I do that?”
Ashton stood up and reached for your hand, only for you to jerk back. “D-don’t touch me!” you exclaimed, scared of your own volume. Anxiety began to knock at your door once again, creeping in like a deadly virus into your system. “How could I be so stupid? Haven’t you put me through enough?”
You started to pace around your room, Ashton watching you move frantically back and forth until he got dizzy. You murmured to yourself not so quietly, scolding yourself for your stupidity and cursing him out for his enticing nature. All over again, Ashton was seeing you crumble.
“y/n, stop,” he ordered firmly, gripping your shoulders. You jerked to a stop, pausing to look Ashton in the eyes. You found yourself getting lost in the pool of hazel, wide eyed and entranced. “You’re going on stage in twenty minutes. Whatever’s going through your head right now, quit it. All of that can be put on pause until after the show, you hear me? And if that voice in your head brings it up while you’re out there, shut it down. What matters now is you, your music, and your fans. Fuck that voice telling you you’re anything short of great.”
In his empowering speech, you forced yourself to listen to his words, ignoring the person those words were coming from. Taking his advice, you cleared your mind of the past few months and only focused on this moment: your first concert of your North American tour.
Rushing to get ready, you scrambled around your room to prepare your hair and makeup. Ashton picked out your clothes for the concert, something simple that you absolutely adored but you paid little attention to the way your heart pounded at the thought. And in those twenty minutes, you were set for the show.
Your microphone in one hand and guitar in the other, you made your way straight to the stage. Ashton followed close behind you to ensure you didn’t misstep or forget anything. Mere inches away from the stage, you whipped your head around to meet his gaze just one more time.
“Thank you,” you whispered gratefully. “I know we haven’t talked, but thank you. Can I look for you after the show?”
Your heart shattered at the shake of his head. “I’ve got a plane to catch right after your show so I can’t come by after,” he told you remorsefully. “But if you’ll have me, I’ll be right here when you come back from tour. Maybe then we can start again, correctly this time. None of the cameras, scripts, or any of that, yeah?”
The sound of your name being chanted by the crowd was nearly deafening, but his words reached your ears and you smiled softly at him. In the corner of your eye, your stage manager pointed at her watch to inform you it was time to go up. Wordlessly, you pressed your lips one last time against his.
“Don’t be a stranger, Irwin,” you told him, turning on your heel and pushing through the curtains. The crowd shrieked and screamed at the sight of you, instantly bringing a proud grin to Ashton’s face.
This was only the beginning of something new and truly beautiful, Ashton thought to himself, hands in his pockets as he made his way to the VIP section.
Several months have passed since your North American and European tour and it has been almost a full year since you started your publicity stunt with Ashton. Throughout the tour, you and Ashton -and the boys, of course- kept close contact with each other, never going more than a day without a phone call or video chat. Over this period, you felt like you finally got to know the real Ashton, not bits and pieces he’d accidentally let slip when he first got to know you. This time, he was real and genuine, and that only made me love him more.
You tiredly dragged your suitcase up your apartment complex’s stairs, heaving at the ridiculous weight as you made your way down to your apartment. You didn’t expect to see a certain hazel eyed drummer standing behind the door when you unlocked it.
“Surprise,” he said sheepishly, balloons and blueberry cheesecake in hand. Tears instantly filled your eyes, you dropped your suitcase and wrapped your arms around his neck, nearly causing him to drop the dessert.
Truth be told, you weren’t expecting to see him so soon, if at all. Your journey with your mental health has been a long one, and there were plenty of ups and downs. A part of you -one you were a little ashamed of- didn’t expect him to keep to his word that he’d be here now. Despite the plenty of calls and talks you had to rekindle your relationship, that nagging voice in the back of your head kept on asking “what if?” What if he took back what he said about wanting to start over? What if it was all in your head, and he never wanted to see you again? But without fail, Ashton was there, willing to rebuild your relationship into a close-knit friendship. And now he’s here, asking to make it something more.
“You’re here,” you murmured into his chest, taking in his smell that you missed so dearly. “I didn’t think you’d come this soon. How did you even get in?”
Ashton pulled away, holding up your spare key. “Your friend gave it to me today,” he explained.
Grinning you brought him back down into a hug before settling in and opening the box of cheesecake. Taking out two forks, the two of you ate straight from the box and caught up on everything, though there wasn’t much considering how often you both talked while you were away.
“I’m really grateful you let me back in,” Ashton spoke up once the box had emptied.
You were half listening, polishing off the plate of its sweet crumbs. “You let yourself in, silly,” you snorted, not quite understanding what he meant. “You’re the one who got a hold of my apartment key.”
Ashton chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. “Not that,” he laughed. “I mean letting me back into your life. I still don’t think I deserve it.”
“We talked about this, Ash,” you leaned back, setting your fork down. “We both said things we didn’t mean that day. We recognized it and we worked from it. We’ve moved on, and we’re friends. I think you deserve it as much as I do.”
Ashton’s cheeks were tinged red as he tried to think of the right words to say. “I know,” he started. “But sometimes, I wish we had..more.”
“More?” you raised an eyebrow. It took another second of you watching the drummer blush in embarrassment and vulnerability before it finally clicked. “Oh.”
Ashton stood up abruptly, wiping the invisible specks of dust off his jeans. “You can forget it,” he rushed in humiliation. “I-I just couldn’t stop thinking about that night of your first concert, how it felt, how you felt- and-”
“Ashton, slow down,” you giggled, standing up, taking his hand and tugging him toward you. A small smile rested on your face. “I still think about that night, too,” you confessed honestly. “And I want that, too. Whatever it is that you want.”
The drummer looked up from your intertwined hands and into your eyes. He swore he saw stars in them. “Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked. “Again?”
You pulled him down into a kiss, your lips craving his all over again. “Yes,” you answered confidently as soon as you backed away to catch your breath. “I will be your girlfriend. Again.”
The two of you shared a laugh, enjoying the silent but welcoming comfort of each other. Standing in the middle of your kitchen, lips coated in sugar and blueberries.
“What was your wish?” Ashton asked, pulling you closer to him as he broke the s. “Back at that restaurant when we first met?”
You hummed in thought, eagerly pressing your lips against his one more time to relish the moment. “My wish was that whatever we had back then,” you whispered, letting him in on your secret. “turns into something more.”
“Well your wish came true, didn’t it?” Ashton smiled, a warm feeling bursting in his chest.
You leaned your forehead against his, eyes fluttering closed. “Yes, Ash,” you said. “Yes it did.”

Ashton prided himself on having patience. A lot of patience, actually, growing up as the oldest child and then having a group of friends that never quite grew up from the childish mischiefs of teenagers will give you lots and lots of patience. So it took a lot for him to ever say:
“I’m done!”
Michael crooked his brow at the sudden outburst of the previously quiet man and lowered his drink.
“You haven’t even finished your sandwich,” Calum answered with a mouthful of leftover spring rolls from the night before.
“I don’t think that’s what he meant…” Michael intervened.
Ashton groaned, throwing his head back and looking at the ceiling of their break room. He didn’t mean to say that out loud, he was just thinking about it. And now Michael is looking at him with pity in his eyes.
“I’m just done!” He repeated, not caring anymore as his hands went to cover his face.
“C’mon, Ash! you can’t just give up!”
“Who’s giving up?” Luke chimed in as he entered the room with his own lunchbox, proudly wearing his new wedding band in his left hand. Ashton groaned again.
“Ashton says he’s done”
“But his sandwich is right there,”
“That’s what I said!” Calum cheered, opening up his soda can.
“Could you guys just-” Ashton groaned as he sat up again, running a hand down his face before letting out a deep breath “Nothing, forget it”
The guys looked at each other and then at their friend, not knowing what could be wrong for him to suddenly burst in the middle of a working day. Michael offered him a small smile as he put his hand over Ashton’s shoulder and gave it a supportive squeeze. Ashton nodded but didn’t lift his gaze.
“Ash, what’s wrong?” Calum asked, now concerned with his friend's attitude.
“Nothing, I’m fine”
“And I’m the king of England”
“Luke-” Michael warned with a pointed look “Ash, you can talk to us, you know?”
“I know,” He sighed “And I will if I need to- Anyway, it’s late and I got some paperwork to fill”
“But we just sat-”
Yet the words of his friends fell silent to his ears as Ashton stood up and gave his sandwich to Calum, grabbed a bottle of water, and left the break room in the middle of their lunch hour without saying another word.
If was honest with himself, he knew he acted poorly toward his friends, but he knew he would make up with them eventually. It was just hard to see them today… No, it was hard being him today.
Ashton didn’t consider himself to be a lonely man. He enjoyed the company of his friends and he got along with his other co-workers. He had a family that loved him and that he loved back; a garden filled with plants and vegetables that he proudly shows off to anyone that asked; he’s an incredible dog-sitter even when his apartment didn’t allow pets and he had to sneak them all the time. He wasn’t lonely, but there was something missing.
No, there was something wrong! He was sure about it. How could it be that he’s twenty-eight years old and has still never found his soulmate?
It wasn’t a problem before, he didn’t even think about it twice. He was more than okay with staying single or being in short relationships with people who - like him - were just waiting to meet their right match. The only thing is that Ashton’s right match seemed to have never existed at all.
The world around him seemed to mock him for that fact. It first started at Luke’s wedding, the vows he exchanged with his soulmate didn’t leave a dry eye at the ceremony, and Ashton looked with pride and a bit of jealousy at how in love the newlyweds were the whole time, feeling his heartache at the longing for something like that.
Then it happened again when he overheard Michael on the phone with his soulmate. Their story was not an easy one. With it Ashton learned about the possibility of the soulmate mark disappearing, filling his head with intrusive thoughts about what could’ve happened to his soulmate and if that’s the reason he couldn’t find them. But when he heard Michael laugh and saw him smile wider than ever when talking to her, he knew those fears were just that and, if anything, fate will come through. He was really happy for them and their new beginning.
But today was something else entirely, something he couldn’t quite control and it happened when Calum was taking his first bite of food. The image of a dove was newly marked upon his skin, and even though Ashton was more than happy that he finally found his soulmate, it also hit him with the fact that he was the last one to find his soulmate. And that broke him.
All of his friends were happy and in love. All of their partners couldn’t have been more perfect for them. And while he shares their joys, it was hard not to dwell in the pain of knowing it might not happen for him. At this point, who knows if he even has a soulmate?
*
A few minutes later after failing to quiet his mind with some paperwork that’s not due in over a week, Ashton felt something light hit his head before a ball of paper appeared bouncing on his desk. When he looked up, he found Michael smiling at him from the door.
“Real mature,” Ashton said, rolling his eyes and going back to work.
Another paper ball hit him.
“Michael!”
“Grab your coat, we’re going out,” He said before turning away.
“It’s the middle of the day!”
Michael turned around so that only his head was visible through the door - even if the walls were still made of glass.
“And I’m your boss, so if I say let’s go, you go”
A string of curses left Ashton’s mouth as he reluctantly grabbed his coat and followed after his friend, catching up with him before the elevator came.
“You know, one day you’re going to get tired of that ‘I’m your boss’ excuse and that day I’ll finally be happy”
“Mmmh yeah… nope! I don’t see that happening”
“I’m going to quit”
“Good luck with that”
“I’m serious,”
“And I’m your boss so shut the hell up and let’s go”
When the elevator hit the lobby Ashton was more than ready to kill Michael, but the latter didn’t seem to care as he hummed a little song and walked out of the building with Ashton beside him.
“Where are we going anyway?”
“We’re getting some coffee” Michael answered like it was nothing.
“We have a full-on working coffee machine at the office”
“I also want some donuts, is that a crime?”
No, but Ashton might commit one.
Still, he followed quietly, surprised to see that Michael hadn't started a conversation yet. He just kept on walking to the coffee shop a few streets down, humming the song that Ashton knows will haunt his dreams later on. But he was thankful for it.
He had to admit that this walk was not a bad idea - although a bad excuse - it helped him clear his head to be out of the office environment and away from those glass walls that create no sense of privacy. Now, he could actually breathe some fresh air and allow himself to relax.
“You’ll be okay,” Michael said, unprompted as they turned to the street of the coffee shop. Ashton looked at him, but he was smiling back already “I know you don’t want to talk about it so I’ll just say it. Your soulmate is out there somewhere and you’re going to find them. And you’ll be okay until then. You are an amazing person, Ash and anyone will be lucky to have you as their soulmate”
Ashton scoffed “Yeah right,”
“I’m serious! I believe Calum cried a little bit when he found out you two weren’t soulmates”
That made Ashton laugh and Michael considered a win, wrapping his arm around the older’s shoulders.
“If I know something about soulmates is that they come when you least expect them and are who you least expect them to be. And you, my friend, will find someone as weird as you. I promise”
Ashton pouted but still leaned his head on Michael’s shoulder as he patted his cheek like a father to his son.
“‘m not weird”
“Awww, yes you are. Do you know anyone else that lives barefoot but puts on socks to sleep?”
Michael laughed at Ashton’s offended face, opening the door to the coffee shop without really looking when someone was getting out. In a matter of seconds, this person seemed to have lost their balance when faced with two tall men hovering over the door, and they started to fall.
“Woah, hey!” Ashton said, catching the person with one hand on their waist and the other one holding them under their arm “Are you okay? Sorry about my friend here, he’s as clumsy as a…”
Yet his words got stuck in his tongue as the stranger lifted their head. If someone were to tell him that an angel appeared in front of him, he would believe them. This girl was wearing an old jersey and plain tights, her hair was wrapped in a bun under a beanie, and her face was clear of any trace of makeup. And when she looked at him, oh, Ashton could swear he had never seen those eyes before.
“No, no, I get it,” The girl said with the sweetest voice Ashton has ever heard, accompanied by a smile that made him forget his own name “I’m just glad I didn’t spill my hot chocolate all over you”
“Y-yeah! That would’ve been… something, yeah” He stumbled on his words, cursing internally at himself. Has this whole soulmate thing blocked him from ever talking to girls again?!
“Uh, thank you for catching me,” The girl said, blushing as she lowered her gaze.
“No, it’s- it’s nothing” Ashton smiled “I’m glad you’re okay and that your hot chocolate is okay”
He cringed but the girl just laughed. And god does he want to hear that sound again.
“You can - um - you can let go of me now. I promise I’m not going to fall”
Ashton’s eyes widened as he immediately let go of her “Shit! right, sorry! I promise I’m not a creep or anything! I just-”
The girl laughed again and put her hand on his shoulder, making Ashton stop his rambling at once.
“You’re fine, don’t worry about it” She smiled “Well, I got to go… see you around then?”
“Ye- yeah! See you…”
Ashton stepped back so that she could leave the coffee shop, she thanked him once more and waved goodbye as she turned the corner. Ashton stood there with a smile, waving back until she was completely out of sight.
“Well, that was painful to watch,” Michael said next to him, making him jump for he had forgotten his friend was still there “Anyway, the line is too long so we might have to go to the other one down the street if you don’t mind. Also, could you text Calum to see what donut he wants? My phone died”
Ashton rolled his eyes, taking his phone out “He’s getting the cinnamon one, he always gets the cinna-”
And there, just under his coat and under his shirt he could see something that wasn’t there before: a small black line barely making it out under the amount of fabric.
Immediately, Ashton pushed back his sleeves and gasped. There it was, a beautiful butterfly taking flight in the middle of his wrist. His soulmate mark.
“Holy fuck!” The two men exclaimed before Ashton turned around and ran in the direction the girl went.
He looked around the sea of people, trying to catch a glimpse of her. She couldn’t have gone far? Unless she had a car or took an Uber… No, she must live nearby, or at least he hoped she would. He just had to find her before it was too late! He had to at least know her name!
But she was nowhere to be found. Not in the streets or at the stores. And if Ashton wasn’t feeling down before, he sure as hell was now. Still, he knew he would see her again. So, he walked back to the coffee shop, defeated and with no motivation… until something on the floor caught his eye.
“Hey, you’re back! Have you found her?” Michael asked when he saw his friend come back.
“Nope,” Ashton sighed “But I got this!” In his hand, he held a beanie, but not just any beanie, it was the beanie she was wearing. Now, he was smiling “It must’ve flown away because of the wind!”
“Great! Now how are you going to give it to her?”
Ashton opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it when he realized he hadn’t had the foggiest idea.
“Maybe she’ll be back for it? I can wait for her here, I’ll just ask Calum to bring me my laptop so I can continue working… if that’s okay with you”
Michael shrugged “Fine by me! It’s your soulmate. But are you sure you’re going to wait for her to come back?”
“Yeah, I mean it’s a coffee shop. How hard can it be?”
*
Answer: Very.
The first day was easy. Calum and Luke practically sprinted toward the coffee shop once Ashton told them what happened and were very invested in the details. Michael had to go back to the office but allowed the boys to stay there and meet Ashton’s soulmate once she came back.
The problem is she didn’t come back that day.
Or the day after that.
Or the day after that one.
Ashton has taken it upon himself to bring his laptop every day and work from the coffee shop - a perk of having the boss as a best friend, one could say. He was there at 8 am when they opened and stayed till past 9 pm when they closed, and only then did he go home after the manager calmly explained to him that if he’d stay there any longer, he’d have to call the police. Always with the beanie next to him in case she were to appear.
At lunchtime he’d be joined by the guys, always offering the same sad smile and a shake of his head when they arrive to confirm that his soulmate has not come back yet.
“It’s been three days, Ash,” Calum says “Are you sure that’s her beanie?”
“I’m sure,” Ashton answered tiredly, playing with the piece of fabric with his hands. “Caitlyn says she comes around often, but not every day. So I’m sure it’s just a matter of time now”
“Who’s Caitlyn?”
“The second shift barista, she’s the one that bakes the cupcakes”
“Are you familiar with everyone in the shop?” Luke asked, Ashton, chuckled.
“Mostly, yeah! The first shift barista is Alan, he’s studying design so I might’ve found us a new intern by the end of the year. Lucy is the head baker, but she has Caitlyn and Jossie to help her during the day. The manager’s name is Greg and he’s always helping and doesn’t charge me for water refills”
“You’re spending half your salary in this shop every day so you’re not kicked out, they better not charge you for freaking water!” Michael commented under his breath.
“And the regulars. I don’t know their names but they are here every day around the same time” Ashton shrugged “I could be waiting in worse places, to be honest”
“As long as you’re sure…”
“Calum, I’ve waited all my life to meet my soulmate, what’s a day more? or a month? or a year?” He smiled “I finally know she’s out there somewhere, and she could come back any day now. I’ve lost her once and I’m not about to do it again”
And so he waited. And waited. And waited…
Every day he’d come back and fuel his caffeine addiction. On Saturday he decided to bring a book that he managed to finish. Jossie also offered him to try their new carrot cake for free and let him decide if it was good enough to put on the menu. Every once in a while his eyes would drift to the door, hoping to see her there and wondering what he would say once they are face to face again.
Is she thinking of him as well? Hoping to see him around town, maybe? Did she wonder where he could be right now, not knowing that he was waiting right there in the place where they met a few days ago when he discovered the beautiful mark on his wrist?
He thought it was ironic that he got a butterfly for a soulmate mark, knowing they don’t last long in the wild but are a wonderful spectacle to look at from afar. The first moment he got with his soulmate was just a glimpse of what could be, and now he’s hoping, praying even, to get to see it again.
Even on Sunday when the coffee shop was closed, he still went there and sat by the door. This time he convinced Calum to come with him and bring some drinks and snacks as they waited in the cold for hours to no avail. She still didn’t show up and now Cal had a runny nose and a cough.
But he didn’t lose hope. Every day at closing time, Caitlyn and Greg would come to say goodbye, saying how sorry they are that she didn’t show up yet. Ashton just smiled at them.
“She will. I know she will, I can feel it”
However, that feeling started to turn into worry when the one-week mark rolled around. This time his friends were already waiting for him inside the coffee shop, and Ashton knew what it meant.
“For the love of god, not an intervention”
Luke pulled up a cue card “Ashton, you are my friend and I love you very much -”
“Michael, is this your idea?”
“Hey!” Luke protested “At least let me finish before you interrupt me, I have some pretty nice stuff to say about you”
Ashton sighed and shook his head.
“Okay, fine! I get it, and you’re right. I should stop this and just go home and hope that fate will let us meet again”
“Ash-”
“But the thing is I’ve waited for fate to come around. For years I’ve waited to meet her and when I finally do, fate comes around and pushes her away from me! If I can’t trust fate then I’ll create my own. And the only solution for me was to just wait for her and see what happens because if my fate is so cruel to never let me see her again, it won’t be for a lack of trying on my part. You all have your soulmates and your happily ever afters, I just- I just thought that maybe this was the way to mine…”
When he looked back up, he saw the understanding on his friends’ faces.
“Ash, you know this isn’t healthy,” Luke said, taking a step closer and patting him on the back.
“I know,” He replied “But today marks a week, so boss? Is it okay if I stay here today and go back to the office tomorrow?”
Michael rolled his eyes “Of course, buddy. In fact, if she manages to show up today, you’ll have the rest of the week free”
“And if she doesn’t?”
“Then dinner and drinks on me”
When the guys left, Ashton walked up to the counter and made his regular order for breakfast. Alan smiled at him and gave him a cookie for their one-week anniversary. Ashton smiled and thanked him before going back to his usual spot and opening his laptop to start working. Maybe if he’s distracted by work the day could go faster.
The doors of the coffee shop opened and closed many times during the next few hours, but none of them caught Ashton’s eye for none of them were her. His hope was starting to falter as the morning grew into an early afternoon when the doors of the shop opened again.
“Excuse me?” He heard someone say and he froze in place “I think I might’ve left my beanie here a week ago? I was wondering if-”
Immediately Caitlyn shouted “Oh my god! Ashton!”
If that embarrassment wasn’t enough already, Ashton cringed before looking toward the counter. He didn’t see Caitlyn’s eyes gleaming with joy, or heard Greg’s thunderous claps, or even paid attention to Jossie and Lucy’s heads peeking from the kitchen window. All he could see was his soulmate looking back at him with an incredulous smile and dressed in a stewardess uniform.
Oh.
She made his way back to him at the same time he got up from his chair and met her halfway. The two of them were speechless, to say the least.
“Hi,”
“Hey!”
They both said at the same time and blushed. The girl looked away but Ashton could not stop staring at her, marveling at the sight. She was real, she was real and she was here in front of him!
“I- um… I got this for you” He said, reaching behind him and picking up her beanie from the table “I found it on the street the other day, and - yeah, I thought you might want it back”
The girl could barely hold her smile, carefully taking the beanie out of his hands.
“Thank you,”
“I also wanted to ask if you - well, if you got a -”
The girl laughed as she raised her hand and pulled on the sleeves of her coat, showcasing a perfect replica of Ashton’s butterfly as her soulmate mark. Ashton giggled and showed her his arm, letting the butterflies touch as they found each other again.
“I think we have a lot to talk about,” She said, smiling up at him “Ashton, right?”
“Yes, and you are…?”
“Y/N”
“Beautiful,” He couldn’t help but say, blushing at her smile.
“What a coincidence we find each other here again, huh?”
Ashton was about to answer but Greg beat him to it as he yelled “He’s been waiting here all week!”
If he ever wished for the earth to swallow him whole, now would be the right time for that wish to come true as he glared at Greg with panicked eyes. Y/N, on her part, turned to him with wide eyes and parted lips.
“You-”
“Look, I’m sorry,” Ashton apologized. “I never got your name and when I realized you were, well, my soulmate and then I found your beanie I just- I just thought that maybe I’d see you again when you came around for another hot chocolate?”
“You waited here for me for a whole week? I’ve been working, flying all over the country I never thought - Oh my god, I am the worst, aren’t I?”
“Huh?”
“I knew I should’ve come back the moment I noticed the mark! But I was already late for the airport and, well, I never thought someone could do these kinds of things for me. I’m so, so sorry I made you wait”
“What? no, no, no! Not at all!” Ashton instinctively went to cup her cheek, making her rambling stop in a second “I would’ve waited a hundred more days if it meant I’d get to see you again”
Y/N placed her hand on top of his and sighed “Could I maybe make it up to you over lunch? And we’ll get to know each other better”
Ashton laughed “You took the words right out of my mouth, angel. But…”
“Yeah?”
“Could we have lunch somewhere else? I’m kind of tired of the smell of coffee”
“Of course!” She smiled, grabbing Ashton by the hand and leading him out the door “My car is right there at the corner, would you mind coming with me and waiting five minutes so I can leave my luggage at home before we go?”
Ashton gave a slight tug on her hand and brought her closer.
“No problem. I’m a very patient man”

author’s note: I started writing this piece in October while I had COVID, and I decided to pick it up again. It was inspired by this song in the first place, but as I started to work out the finer details of the story I realized the moodswings really fits the vibe and has many scenes that are basically in the song, so I decided to go with that.
I don’t plan on going into certain details in the story - my main focus is on how Ashton’s secret life and choices affects his relationship with the reader.
Feedback and reblogs are appreciated!

chapter 1.
- - - - -
“Thank you for dinner, angel, it was delicious,” Ashton wrapped his arms around your waist after putting the dishes into the sink, lips pressing a sweet kiss on your cheek. “Just as always.”
“Flattery gets you nowhere, Irwin, you know that” your giggle filled the kitchen as you started to wash the plates and cutlery, head resting back against his shoulder. “Tell me, what do you want?”
“Cannot I just appreciate my gorgeous girl and her culinary skills?” he hummed with a small smile, breathing another kiss on your temple as he held you from behind.
“Okay, I will indulge you, but just this once,” you laughed and turned back to the dishes, letting your boyfriend slot his body against your back, slowly swaying with you, face tucked into your neck.
“Love quiet nights with you,” Ash mumbled against your skin, his scruff softly tickling you as he burrowed closer. “Wish they would last forever.”
“You’re awfully cuddly today,” you finished drying your hands, turning around in Ashton’s embrace and slipping your arms around his shoulders. “Is everything okay?”
“Mhmm, yeah. Just missed you, that’s all.”
His forehead knocked against yours, palms gently curling around your cheeks as his nose traced yours, hazel eyes shining beautifully. You moved forward, fingers tangling into the soft curls at the back of his head as you pulled him closer, both of you sighing into the kiss you shared. You loved the feeling of his lips on your lips, on your skin, kissing you senseless, making you feel like a queen he worshipped with everything he had.
“So, about those intentions…” you whispered on his lips, eyes closed as you both breathed deeply.
“You know they are never pure,” his little cheeky laugh resonated against you, teeth closing around your bottom lip softly before his hands wandered down to curl around the back of your thighs, picking you up swiftly. “What do you say? Are you game, gorgeous?”
“So much for quiet nights, huh?”
Ashton giggled against your cheek, pressing a sloppy kiss on your mouth as he adjusted you in his lap before turning around and making his way towards your shared bedroom.
.
“I think you’ve killed me and I’m in fucking heaven,” you panted in your afterglow, a laugh mixed in with your breathy words as you willed your eyes to open, just in time to see Ashton climb out from beneath the sheets.
“That good, huh?” he laughed as well, warm palms pressing against your thighs as he ran them up to your sides, caressing you lightly. He kissed your hip, moving his lips lower to softly mouth at your clit again, and you groaned, pushing him away.
“I cannot handle more, geez. My legs are still shaking, you monster.”
“You know you love it,” Ash pushed himself up and hovered over you, pecking your nose and lips. “Let me clean you up, okay?”
You returned the kiss and nodded, resting back on the bed as he went to the bathroom to retrieve a washcloth, cleaning up the mess he left on your stomach before eating you out for another 15 minutes or so. He lay back beside you, tugging on the blankets until he could wrap them around your bodies, holding you against his chest as you both came down from your highs.
“I need a shower but I don’t wanna move,” you drew circles on his stomach, making Ashton hide his smile against your hair.
“You can take one in the morning,” his soft caress followed the path down your spine, a light shiver running through you at the touch. “I don’t mind.”
“Yeah, but I need to wash my hair and all, and I have an early start,” you pouted at him, and he leaned down to kiss it away.
“We can shower together. I’ll even wash your hair, deal?”
You nodded, a smile pulling at your lips as Ashton kissed you again, patting your ass cheek to usher you out of bed. There was a buzzing sound coming from the other side of the room, and you reached for Ashton’s discarded jeans, throwing them at him as he was sitting up in bed, giggling at him.
“It’s been 10 minutes already,” you nodded at the phone still vibrating in his jeans. “Wish it was something else buzzing,”
“We can talk about it tomorrow,” he chuckled, looking for his pocket to pull out his phone. “Go and start the shower, it’ll be just a second.”
Ashton waited until he was sure you started your pre-shower routine, only then did he open the text he received. He knew better than to call back the person who looked for him – he knew they were already pissed that they needed to send him a message. Written proof was always a risk in their business.
He rubbed a hand over his face, suddenly tired and losing his mood that’s been his companion for the night. Work was calling, and he started to go through his mental checklist of what needed to be done.
“Hey, Ash? Are you coming?”
His head snapped up as he looked at you, catching you leaning against the doorframe, your naked body just out of his sight. There was a slight worry pulling at your eyebrows, and more than anything he wanted to kiss away that frown so it was not marring your beautiful face.
“Yeah, sorry,” he was already up and moved towards you, arm curling around your waist to lead you to the shower. “I promised to wash your hair, right?”
“Damn right, handsome.”
.
“You’re up. Why are you up?”
“Couldn’t sleep. Thought a quick walk would clear my head.”
You tiredly rubbed at your eyes as Ashton kicked off his boots, clothes following as he dropped them in a pile at the foot of the bed. He climbed back next to you, letting you curl into his side as he settled against his pillows, ready to catch up on his sleep. It wasn’t a lie, not really – his sleep was fitful in the first two hours, not even your soft, calm breaths on his skin could make him relax.
When the time has come he quickly got dressed and picked up his keys, going through the motions: go to the basement, open the storage room, pick up the bag, go to the garage, get in the car, drive to the location that was given to him. Get the job done. Clean up, get home, pretend like nothing happened. It’s just another Wednesday night.
“You sure you’re okay?” your arm rested around his stomach, fingertips caressing his side as you fought your own sleepy brain, wanting to make sure Ashton was able to fall asleep too.
“I’m alright now, don’t worry about me,” he kissed your forehead, fingers tangling into your hair as he brushed through it, trying to coax you back to sleep. “Good night, angel.”
“Night, night,” you mumbled into his chest, already falling asleep again, and he let out a sigh when he was sure you won’t wake up again.
Ashton buried his face against his pillow, the fabric softener and both of your perfumes mixing on it, the scent of home finally calming his senses, making him forget about the coppery smell in his nostrils.
He needed to buy a new pair of leather gloves, though.
.
“Where are you going?” Ashton reached after your hand as you crossed the living room and pulled you into his lap, arms wrapped around your waist. “Looking like a snack and all.”
“It’s girls’ night, remember?” you ran your fingers through his hair, kissing his forehead before standing up. “And I am so fucking late, you have no idea!”
“I can drop you off.”
“I didn’t want to drag you away from home, you told me tonight’s the only time when you can relax,” you bit your bottom lip while fixing your earrings, trying to withhold the puppy dog eyes that usually worked on Ashton like a charm.
“Anything for my girl,” he was already putting on his shoes and reaching for his jacket. “It’s no trouble at all. I’ll even pick you up if you need me to.”
“You’re absolutely wonderful,” you slipped into your heels and pushed yourself up on your tiptoes to kiss him on the lips. “Thank you.”
Ashton stopped in front of the club 20 minutes later, leaning closer to get a quick goodbye kiss before you hopped out and disappeared behind the entrance. You’ve agreed that you’ll call him once your party is over and that he will come and take you home so you don’t need to wait and pay for an Uber. His finger was tapping against the steering wheel, following the rhythm of the song playing on the radio, thinking that maybe he could go and do some grocery shopping so you both could sleep in in the morning, or get his car washed since it has seen better days.
He just turned into the parking lot when his phone started buzzing on the seat next to him, and a quick glance at the caller made him stop, already knowing what they were going to ask from him. Ash swiped the hair back from his face as he picked it up, eyes searching his surroundings, almost like he anticipated someone watching him.
“Where?” he asked shortly, not one for asking too many unnecessary questions – he learned not to do that a long time ago.
The line cracked, the unmistakable voice listing off the address and the details, asking for a quick and clean job. Ashton’s only answer was a short ‘on it’ before disconnecting, putting the car in reverse and leaving the parking lot like he didn’t even go there in the first place.
So much for getting that grocery shopping done.
.
“Hey, I thought you’re gonna call me?” Ashton was surprised to find you already back at home, wearing your PJs, face clean of makeup as you finished getting ready for bed. “Did something happen?”
“You forgot to pick me up,” you gave him a shrug like it didn’t matter, but he could hear an edge to your voice, and that made him confused.
“You didn’t call me,” he shook his head, leaning against the doorframe to watch you in the bathroom mirror, trying to catch your gaze.
“I did,” you finally looked up at him, giving him a hard stare before your eyes slid away again, voice going quiet. “You just did not pick it up.”
“Impossible,” Ash huffed, reaching into his pocket to check his phone, sure that this was all a misunderstanding. “Shit!”
There were 5 missed calls and 7 text messages staring back at him, every one of them from you. He breathed out another silent curse as he checked the timestamps on the calls, your messages going from confused to sad and angry, and he remembered how he silenced his phone when he arrived at the given address, just to be cautious. From that point on he forgot about time, and once the job was done he was ready to go home and dispose of his gear before doing a quick grocery run like he previously planned, and then pick you up like you’ve agreed.
“Yeah, well… I really wasn’t looking forward to that Uber drive…” you finished brushing your hair, eyes still avoiding Ashton as much as you could. “I always end up with the weirdest guys… and you know I always ask them to drop me off a block away from home and I really, really wasn’t in the mood for walking tonight…”
“Y/N, I’m so sorry!” Ashton stepped forward to reach for your hand, to maybe pull you closer and comfort you somehow, to make up for his stupid mistake, but you slipped out of the bathroom before he could get to you. “I left my phone on silent, I forgot to–”
“Yeah, I wonder why that happened,” hurt laced your voice as you crossed the room, quickly burrowing under your blankets and pulling them up to your chin. “I’m tired. And I’m not in the mood to talk with you.”
“Come on, don’t do this,” he sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “I don’t want you to go to bed being angry with me.”
“Night, Ash,” you mumbled, now pulling the sheets over your head, clearly being done with the conversation.
Ashton looked at you for another minute, hoping you will change your mind and let him explain himself, but when you didn’t move he gave up, and with a sigh he turned around and left for the bathroom. He let the hot water run over his body for long minutes, washing off the grime and dust, the invisible spots of blood that stuck to his skin.
This definitely wasn’t what he planned for tonight – he thought he could be done with this before picking you up. He thought you could flirt with each other on the drive home, his fingers teasingly slipping under the hem of your dress, a clear sign of his intentions. You looked gorgeous, and all he could think about through the night was how he wanted to take you home and strip you of it, to have his way with you like he imagined. He wished that he could have you against him, wrapped in his arms as you made love, that you were not giving him the silent treatment because he was a shitty boyfriend tonight. Ashton knew he deserved it, but it still sucked.
After drying his hair and putting on his sweatpants he shuffled into the room, not wanting to make too much noise and wake you up in case you already fell asleep. Your head was resting on your pillow, no longer hidden under the blankets that were tucked around you now, but your back was still turned towards him, another clear sign that you were mad at him. Ashton settled onto his side of the bed, trying to make his thoughts slow down so he could fall asleep as well, but every time he closed his eyes the only thing he could see was the way you looked at him in the mirror: sad and disappointed.
He turned onto his side, listening to your breathing; truth was that Ashton hated sleeping without you. Ever since you moved in with him a year ago he got used to you always being close during the night, bodies touching under your blankets, your soft sounds calming his mind and heart, lulling him to sleep. He loved how the smell of your perfume and your body wash lingered in the air, a reminder of your presence which made his place feel like home. Living together made him learn a lot of things about you – one of which was the way you were breathing when you slept. And Ashton knew you were not asleep.
It took him a moment to gather his courage, but then he scooted closer to you and wrapped his arm around your waist, his body resting against your back, a soft sound leaving his lips as he felt your hair tickle his cheek. You tensed in his arms for a second before letting yourself melt against him, your fingers tangling together as he drew circles on the back of your hand with his thumb.
“I’m still mad at you.”
“I know,” Ashton mumbled, softly kissing your hair and letting out another sigh. “I really am sorry, Y/N.”
“Were you with someone else?” your voice was just above a whisper, like you were scared to even say those words out.
“Just with Calum,” he knew he could count on his friend to cover for him, but still he made a mental note to send him a text in the morning. “Thought we could catch up and all…”
“…that doesn’t explain why you didn’t pick up your phone,” you let silence settle over the two of you after that, not even sure if you were waiting for an answer from Ash or not.
“We’ve been talking about the shitty week he had and it was constantly going off with messages from work. I silenced it so I could pay attention to Cal, and left it like that. I was just clumsy. But I’m not cheating on you.”
“So the walks at night and the long showers are not because you’re trying to hide something from me?”
“You really don’t believe me, do you?”
“You’ve been acting strange all week,” you pulled your hand back to tuck it under your pillow. “What am I supposed to think?”
“I don’t know, but I promise you it’s not that,” his arm tightened around your waist like he wanted to make sure you understood what he was saying. “I love you, and I would never do that to you. I’m just… really lost in my head this week.”
“If you say so…” a quiet sigh left your lips as you burrowed against your pillow, still not entirely convinced that Ashton was telling the whole truth. “…but you’re lucky I love you too.”
.
In the morning Ashton was nowhere to be found. You woke to an empty bed, the sheets cold where your boyfriend was sleeping just a few hours ago. There were no sounds coming from the other rooms – your apartment was peaceful and quiet in the early morning sunlight that filtered through the curtains and fell across the floors. Ashton didn’t leave any message for you about his whereabouts, and you tried to fight the sick feeling in your stomach that maybe he ran to see his other lover, letting her know that they needed to be more careful.
You shook your head like you wanted the thought to fall from your mind, finally leaving you alone – Ashton promised you last night that he was not seeing anyone else, and you desperately wanted to believe him. He never gave you any reason to think that he was cheating on you, and you tried your best to give him a chance to prove that what he was saying was true. So you put on your robe and a brave face to start the day, hoping that you made the right decision.
Just as you stepped into the kitchen to start the coffee machine, you heard the front door opening, and a moment later Ashton appeared with two grocery bags in his arms, smiling at you brightly.
“Good morning, angel,” he put the bags on the table, making sure they didn’t fall over. “You’re up early.”
“I was cold without you,” you let yourself pout at him, the tension from last night slowly disappearing between the two of you. “My bed warmer went missing.”
“I wanted to do some grocery shopping after I dropped you off yesterday so we could spend a lazy day together. But since I didn’t do that, I woke up early to get it done as soon as possible, and I was hoping I could still catch you in bed,” Ashton confessed, reaching into one of the bags to pull out a box. “I stopped by your favourite bakery to buy some pistachio croissants for breakfast because I know you love them. And these too–” he quickly stepped back to the entryway and came back with a bouquet of flowers, stopping in front of you with them.
“Ash–” you felt your breath catch and your cheeks warm, not expecting anything like this from him.
“I know I’ve said it a hundred times already, but I really, truly am sorry for last night. I should have been more attentive, especially since I’ve promised to pick you up and then I did not follow through with it. I promise to be more careful and not silence my phone,” he let a hopeful smile pull at the corner of his mouth, holding the flowers out for you.
“You are just… terrible,” you let yourself smile too, accepting the flowers and wrapping an arm around his waist to burrow against him. “I love you.”
“I love you more,” he breathed, kissing the top of your head.
He rested his cheek against your hair, and you hid your face in his neck, breathing in his scent, so familiar and calming. After everything that happened it felt safe being in his arms, the warmth of his body and the smell of his cologne soothing your nerves – he was here with you, no traces of another lover on his clothes or skin. Ashton was still yours to love, and he made sure you knew too how he felt about you, how he loved you too.
“Let me finish making coffee, and then we can have breakfast, okay?” Ashton pressed another kiss on your forehead, smiling down at you. “After that we can go back to bed and call it a day. How does that sound?”
“Sounds like the perfect Saturday,” you nodded, burrowing back against him for another second. “I’ll put these in water. They are really beautiful, thank you.”
“You are beautiful,” Ash responded before taking a vase off the shelf and giving it to you.
While you arranged the flowers he set the table, and you spent the next half an hour eating breakfast, softly talking and playing footsie, the demons from last night disappearing with the sun lighting up the room. Ashton sent you back to bed as he quickly finished washing the plates and mugs, his jeans and shirt thrown onto a chair before he joined you under the sheets, pulling you close to him.
“Did I tell you how beautiful you looked last night?” Ashton moved until he could rest his head on the same pillow as you, his nose softly tracing yours as he whispered.
“Well, you did call me a snack,” your hand slipped onto his shoulder, palm sliding up and down on his arm, caressing his skin.
“I had every intention to appreciate you in that gorgeous dress,” his fingers tangled into the hem of your shirt under the blankets, tickling your waist a little. “And now I have every intention to do that while you’re wearing your PJs. I’m not picky.”
“I mean, I could put the dress back on… but you would just take it off of me,” you laughed, pressing your lips against Ashton’s. “And that would just waste our precious time on this lazy Saturday morning.”
“Hmm, I have a few ideas how we could spend our time this morning,” a cheeky smile pulled at the corner of his mouth before he pushed himself up on his elbow. “I have a surprise for you.”
He turned towards his nightstand, rummaging around until he pulled something out, hiding it in his palm. You gave him a little questioning look, and Ash laughed, finally showing you what was hidden in his hand. The item made you blush and giggle at the same time, a pleasant feeling settling in your core as you bit your lip.
“No way you did it!”
“You did tell me you wished it was something else buzzing other than my phone,” Ashton held the bullet vibe between his fingers, tracing the toy over your skin, slowly moving it over your stomach before pressing the button at the bottom, the toy softly vibrating as he held it against the top of your panties. “What do you think – shall we try it?”

bandaid - a.i
summary: you cut yourself making dinner and your boyfriend is dramatic
Tumblr media
“It’s fine, Ash,” you tell him, voice reassuring as you take your hand up to your lips.
Putting your finger in your mouth, you sucked at the small cut as you moved to the sink beside you. Turning the tap, you let the water run and waited for it to turn lukewarm before rinsing your hand under it.
Within a second, a tall frame was pressed against your back, leaning over your shoulder and letting out a small gasp.
“Oh my god, it's bleeding,” he exclaimed, placing a tight grip on your hip. “Should I call the doctor or something?”
You let out a chuckle as your eyes rested on the small gash. At most you would need a bandaid.
“No, leave the poor doctor alone.”
“But it can get infected.”
“How would this get infected?”
Shutting off the water, you turn around and face your boyfriend. Placing the other hand on his chest, you offer a gentle smile and tell him. “It’s fine, honestly.”
“I just worry about you.”
He leaned down and pressed his lips against your forehead, planting a featherlight kiss and wrapping his arms around your waist.
You smiled softly as he propped his head further down, his lips coming to a halt beside your ear. A shiver ran down your spine as his breath tickled your skin, voice low as he spoke.
“I’ll get you a bandaid though.”

Day 9 of Kinktober: Car Sex with Ashton Irwin
pairing: ashton irwin x fem!reader
warning: Making out, unprotected sex, blowing
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV
Ashton picks me up to go out on a date with him and he recently got a new car, a Cadillac, and I’m really excited to see inside.
He drives up to my house and the car looks gorgeous and big enough to fit 5 people in it. I get in and I’m jealous on how the car looks so fucking amazing inside.
“You ready?” Ashton ask me.
“I am.” I smile.
He takes us to BOA Steakhouse with the other members of 5 Seconds of Summer and their girlfriends. A lot of us got a bunch of sea food, steak, and pasta. Some fans of us came up to talk to us and some wanted pictures of us or just 5 seconds of summer with them.
While we were eating Ashton whispers some sweet nothings in my ear.
“When we’re done here, do you want to go somewhere?”
“Where Ash?” I whisper in his ear.
“Maybe, the Overlook.” He whispers back.
The Overlook, which you can see the city view, and people can make out up there, I hope we’re actually going to see the city view.
“If you want to Ash.” I said.
“I wanna go.” He whispers again.
“We’ll go alright.” I whisper back.
After dinner Ashton and I went to the Overlook, which the city looks amazing and pretty. Ashton kisses my neck, I giggle a little bit. I kiss him back, I tug his hair.
“You wanna go in the back?” He stops kissing me and says.
"Yes," I say.
We got in the back and continued making out, he began to kiss my neck again giving me hickeys. I moan, he makes us do nose to nose.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” He said.
“We have done it before.” I said.
“I know but not in a car.” He said while looking into my eyes.
I mean it’s true but I’m scared we might ruin the seats. I nod. I love him and I want him so badly.
Ashton lays me on the car seats, unzips my dress and I unbutton his dress shirt and I try to unbuckle his belt, he helps me out with it. I help him getting his boxers off, I need him now.
“You ready?” He makes sure.
“Yes. Make love to me Ash.” I said.
He kisses me again, I tug on his hair again, which made him smile in our kiss. He positions himself towards my pussy, he starts to go in and out of me slowly, I moan, I can feel him how big he is. I put my right leg around his waist, I feel him touching my leg. He goes a little faster, I gasp. He’s so good at this.
He gives me love bites on my chest, I look up to see the windows getting foggy, holy hell. I make him lay on the car seat and have him hickeys as well. The way he moans, it sounds so sexy. I start to blow him, I can feel him tugging my hair l keep going.
“Keep going baby, fuck, you’re so good at this.” Ashton says in a deep voice.
I keep on going, I feel his cum in my mouth and I keep on going up and down. He groans. God damn it, I don’t want to stop. He cums in my mouth, he tasted so good to be honest.
I lay on Ashton and I can feel his heart beating, I can tell he enjoyed that session of ours.
“That was so good Y/N/N.” He heavily breathed.
“I’m glad you liked it Ash.” I look at him.
“Liked it? I loved it.” He smiled.
“Can we do this at home not in a car?” I ask him.
“Why’s that?” He asks.
“The bed is more comfortable.” I cuddle into his chest.
“I rather do this more often.”
“Ashton.” I playfully hit him.
“If you want to, I’m not going to force you Y/N/N.”
I give him a small smile, I love him so much but I do not want to have sex in a car what so ever, it’s just not my thing to do anywhere.
“I love you Y/N.”
“In what way? like me blowing you or actually you’re in love with me on I do on a regular basis?” I question.
“On a regular basis, besides on what you just did to me, I love you so much, a lot people can see it Y/N/N.”
I kiss him, I love this man and he loves me but car sex is so uncomfortable to do in any car.

why are you here? - l.r.h.
requested: no. bruh at this point i don’t even know when im gonna get my last requests done 💀
a/n: i haven’t had my zoloft in a week 🤞🤞 doctors appointment on thursday tho 🫶
cw: SMUT!!! bathroom sex, name calling, slight angst, a bit of a fluffy end. (if there’s anything else lmk in the comments)
———
my heart dropped as i spotted him across the room. he was dancing with some chick. my fingers tightened around the glass i was holding, hardly listening to anything my friend in front of me was saying.
“helloooo?” ryan waved his hand in front of me. my eyes snapped back to him, my heart beat quickening as i thought about how he was in the same room as me.
it had been six months since the break up. what we had was fantastic, but we crumbled down, and ended terribly. “sorry, erm, you didn’t tell luke you were going anywhere tonight, did you?” i asked.
ryan raised his brow. “why would i have? he said he was gonna be staying at home anyways.” he shrugged. i raised my brow. “then who’s that over there?” i asked, pointing over his shoulder. ryan turned his head, locking his vision onto luke.
he turned his gaze back to me, wide eyed. “y/n i didn’t know he’d be here i’m so-” i waved it off. my small motion drew attention to me, luke looking my way. i locked eyes with him, not breaking eye contact.
ryan turned his head back to luke. he then saw ryan, his face going bright red. he pulled away from the girl he was dancing with, going to the bar.
i excused myself before going to the bathroom. i stood at the counter, splashing water on my face. i made sure not to mess up my makeup, wiping my face dry. the door opened, his tall figure standing in front of me. he closed the door quickly, locking it so no one else could get it.
“real classy, sneaking into the women’s room, luke.” i rolled my eyes as i looked at him. “you and i both know its not the first time.” he remarked, walking towards me.
he pushed me against one of the stall doors, hands on either side of my head. “why are you here?” he spoke lowly, staring into my eyes.
“needed to get out and do something for once. ryan offered to bring me out. guess your alibi didn’t work this time, huh?” i asked. he scoffed, bringing his face closer to mine.
“we can never be friends, can we?” he spoke, his eyes glancing down to my lips before meeting my gaze again. i shrugged, smirking up at him. “fuck it.” he said before kissing me roughly.
his tongue met mine, swirling around in each others mouths. he grabbed my thighs, wrapping my legs around his waist. my dress hoisted to my hips when he did so, exposing my ass, as i wasn’t wearing underwear. he quickly found that out once grabbing me.
he smirked against my lips, brining me to the countertop. “expect to get some tonight?” he teased, his hands going between my thighs. i rolled my eyes.
“yeah, didn’t think it would be you, though.” i grumbled. he chuckled darkly. “oh please, you act like you don’t want me.” i bit my lip as his hands went for his belt.
“shut up” i mumbled, watching him pull down his jeans. i tried to clench my thighs together once i saw the sight of his cock peeking out from the waistband of his boxers.
“wanna say that again, brat?” he said, pushing my thighs open wide. i let my head fall back against the mirror. i shook my head quickly. “no sir.”
‘that’s what i thought.” he pulled down his boxers, lining his cock up with my entrance. i let out a breathy moan as he pushed into me, his pace quick and steady. i clenched around him, feeling every vein in his cock. my jaw fell slack as i took him in fully.
my eyes rolled back, making him slap my face. “look at me while i’m fucking you, y/n. i know you haven’t forgotten my rules, so fucking follow them.” i whimpered as i opened my eyes, looking into his.
he smirked at me, watching me try and keep my eyes open. he stuck his thumb in my mouth, my lips wrapping around his finger as if it were his cock. i moved my tongue how he liked when i would give him head, causing him to groan.
“fuckin hate how much i love this.” he tilted back his head, swallowing hard. his brow furrowed as his thumb pulled from my mouth, grabbing my hips tightly. his movements became quicker, but rather than feeling rushed, they felt almost filled with love.
i tried not to think about it, tried to remember that this is just one last time together. his teeth sinks into the flesh of my neck, sucking slightly and running tongue over the marks he’d left. i moaned at the sensation, my nails clawing at his back.
“getting close, lu.” i moaned, speaking the nickname i had given him when we were together. he whined at my words, pushing himself deep inside me, massaging my breasts through my dress.
“fuck, cum for me beautiful, come on.” he breathed. his tone had changed from hateful to kind within a matter of seconds. my heart fluttered as i released all over his cock.
he groaned as i tightened around him, causing him to pull out, finishing on my thigh. i kept my arms wrapped around his neck, keeping him close to my body. “guess we really never can be friends, huh?” he mumbled into my neck. i took in a deep breath, feelings the aching in my chest.
“guess not.” i sighed. he pulled back, pulling his jeans back up, situating himself. he helped me off the counter, pulling my dress back over my thighs. he grabbed my hands from where they were at my sides, brining them to his mouth, leaving soft kisses on each of them while looking into my eyes.
“as much as i hate that i saw you again, im real fuckin glad i did.” he whispered. i bit the inside of my cheek, watching his guilt filled eyes. “six months feels like hell when im away from you. will you try this again with me?” he asked.
my eyes welled with tears as i bit my lip. “you haven’t changed, luke. i know you haven’t,” i looked down at our feet. “you just want to bring back the past and hold on to what you lost.”
he shook his head, pulling me into his chest. “i’ve thought about you every minute of the day, y/n. i mean it. i mean, fucks sake i said your name when i kissed another girl. she kicked me out immediately when i had to explain that you’re my ex. i want this. i want you.” he begged, his eyes looking down at me, brimming with tears.
“i need time to think.” i whispered, blinking away the tears. he nodded, kissing the top of my head. i pulled away from him, grabbing the door handle.
“how about we go back to your house and get pizza? watch movies on the couch?” i asked, turning around to meet his gaze.
his eyes were wide. he nodded his head, quickly following me out of the bathroom.
i knew we could never be friends, we’d only ever be in love with each other.

Summary: In which you decide to finally let Luke know how much you love him<3
Warnings: Smut, vanilla sex, missionary, making out, virgin!reader, fluffy aftercare
Word Count: 1.9k
A/N: I'm am so terribly sorry for the late post, anon :) I have been going through...a lot in my personal life, as well as working on a full-length fic with lots of queer and neurodiverse rep (hint hint ;)). Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy and thank you for such a sweet prompt!
You smiled, blushing and averting your eyes as Luke kissed your knuckles from across the dinner table. You two were currently out for dinner at a wonderfully luxurious French restaurant for Valentine’s Day, and Luke was making the butterflies in your stomach go wild. You’d been dating for a little over a year now, but he still made you feel like a young girl, giggling and blushing over her school crush.
“You are so beautiful,” the blond hummed, gazing at you as the candles on the table lit up his blue eyes. “How did I get so lucky?”
“More like how did I get so lucky?” You smiled softly, sipping your wine.
Luke kissed your knuckles again, taking his time to admire how beautiful you were. He knew that you were rather insecure about still dating in your late twenties while all your friends were married, but he felt so beyond lucky to have you that he felt a strong pull to make sure you really knew just how much better you made his life.
“More wine?” Luke asked you, nodding his head towards your empty glass.
“I was actually thinking that we could head back to yours?” You asked softly, blushing the whole time.
You’d recently been thinking about your life and how you felt about Luke, and realized that you wanted him on a deeper level. You knew Luke was your person, soulmate, if you would. You watched as Luke’s smile grew at what you said. He quickly called over the waiter, paying the bill, and standing up, taking your hand.
“That sounds perfect to me.” he smiled, kissing the top of your head.
One of your favorite things about Luke was how protective and loving he was. He refused to treat you as anything less than a lady, and that was evident as he held your hand through the restaurant. The evening air was chilly as you walked out of the restaurant, and Luke held you close as you walked to his Range Rover, giggling softly at how adorable he thought you were. He had never had a girlfriend that was as wonderful as you were, and he absolutely relished in the fact that he could spoil you, but you still respected him as more than a cash cow.
“God, you make it so easy to love you.” You told him, kissing his cheek as Luke started the car and helped you in.
“I’m amazing, aren’t I?” he asked with a satirical hair flip.
You giggled as Luke began to drive, leaning your head against the window as you watched the lights of downtown go by. You had recently moved in with Luke on the outskirts of LA where many celebrities and musicians lived, and getting to have this life with your boyfriend made you so eternally grateful. It was a stark contrast to how you had grown up, and even to your early 20s, but it was amazing nonetheless. Luke took care of you in the best possible ways, making sure that you were cared for not only physically and financially, but emotionally and mentally as well.
Which is why you took his hand, tugging him to the master bedroom once you two had arrived home. “I wanted to talk to you.” You hummed, sitting down on the bed.
“Is everything alright?” the blond asked, worry creasing around his blue eyes as he took off his watch.
“Yes,” Your blush deepend. “It’s just…you know I’m a virgin.”
“I do know that,” Luke walked over to where you were sitting and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Is that what you wanted to talk about? Because you know I’m okay with waiting until whenever you’re ready.” he whispered softly.
“That’s just it. I am ready.” Your eyes sparkled as you looked up at Luke.
You could see the expression on his face change from one of concern, to one of eagerness. His eyes roamed up and down your body, spending an extra bit of time at your cleavage.
“Are you sure?” Luke kissed you softly, running his thumb across your jawline. “Don’t do it for me, baby girl. Do what feels right for you.”
“I’m sure,” You nodded firmly, kissing him back. “I want to lose my virginity to you, Luke. Tonight.”
“Well in that case,” Luke chuckled, running his hands along your back and then under your shirt until they met the clasp of your bra. “May I?”
You nodded, moaning softly at the electric touch that was Luke’s warm hands on your skin. He slowly undid your bra and then pulled it off along with your shirt. The blond quickly unbuttoned his own white button-down, tossing it onto the bedroom floor.
“My gorgeous, gorgeous girl,” he whispered, trailing kisses from your lips, across your cheeks, to the sweet spot behind your ear. “Tonight is all about you.” Luke told you with a soft growl, beginning to suckle softly.
You ran your hands along his bare back, feeling the warmth seep into your own skin. The feeling of Luke leaving hickeys along your neck was alighting your nerves, making you buck your hips closer to him. You were filled with want for your boyfriend, and you were pretty sure this was the first time you’d ever felt truly horny. Your clit throbbed against the seams of your underwear in your jeans and you nearly had to cross your legs to fight the feeling.
Luke laid you back against the soft, cushiony pillows of your shared king-sized bed, straddling you and hooking his finger into the waistband of your jeans before speaking. “Is it alright if I take these off?”
You could feel the blond’s hardening cock brushing against your already sensitive crotch, and you let out a small whine. “Please.”
Luke kissed your tummy, slowly undoing the button of your jeans and sliding them down your legs. “You are so, so beautiful. I’m so honored that I get to be your first.” he whispered, planting a kiss on your lacy, pink underwear.
The blond was being extra slow and gentle, and you loved him for it. Most men would jump at taking a woman’s virginity, not even considering how she might be feeling, but not Luke. He was taking his time, worshiping every inch and curve of your body and leaving soft kisses and hickeys all over your skin. Luke pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned on a slow, romantic R&B playlist, before setting it on the nightstand and focusing on you again.
This was exactly how you had imagined losing your virginity would go, and to say it was perfect was an understatement. Luke was grinding his own hips into yours with the beat of the music, quite literally ‘making love’ to you as his soft, blond curls fell in his face. He paused for a moment to remove his own dress pants, leaving the both of you in nothing but your underwear.
“Is there something you would like me to try?” Luke asked you, his deep blue eyes looking into your own as he brushed a strand of hair from your face.
“Please, Lu. Just fuck me,” You whined out. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
Luke chuckled, kissing you as he slid your panties off. “Someone’s already losing her innocence, huh?”
You giggled and blushed, pecking his lips. “Only for you.”
Your boyfriend removed his own underwear, and you nearly gasped at the sight. You had seen Luke naked before, of course, and you’d seen him hard through his underwear, but you’d never seen what his dick looked like free from boxers while he was hard. He was huge. A part of you worried that there was no way all eight inches of him was going to fit, but at the same time, you knew Luke would take care of you.
He rolled a condom onto his throbbing cock, topping it with some lube. “Are you ready? I want to make sure you want this too.”
You nodded quickly, your walls already clenching with want for him. “Please, Luke. Do it.”
“Tell me if you need me to stop, okay? My love’s comfort is my number one concern.” Luke kissed your lips deeply again.
The blond wasn’t a virgin by any means, but he knew you were, and that made him feel extra protective over you. Luke left one last kiss on you before he slowly inserted his dick into you, practically moaning at how good you felt. You winced from the pain of suddenly being full, but slowly eased into it, enjoying the sensation.
“God. This feels…good.” You whimpered, already running your nails down your back.
Luke knew you would probably be extra sensitive, so he took his time riding you, finding just the perfect rhythm. You panted as he rode you, not used to the feeling of being so aroused. You had never gotten yourself off before, so all of this was a whole new experience. Slightly unsure of what to do with yourself, you tangled your hands in Luke’s blond curls, panting heavily.
“You doing okay, baby?” the blond asked you, beginning to ride you harder.
You gasped and whined, nodding frantically. “Oh my god, Luke.”
“You look so pretty, baby. Look like you’re about to have your first orgasm, darling.” he smirked.
You blushed under his gaze, still getting used to the feeling of him inside of you. Your lower tummy had been building up with a warm heat ever since Luke had started teasing you, and it was only getting hotter. Luke caressed every inch of your body, humming sweet nothings and leaving slight hickeys as he continued the exact same motion, knowing it would make you cum.
“You’re so wet for me, baby,” he moaned loudly. “You and your tight little cunt.”
Letting out a high-pitched squeal, you ran your nails along Luke’s back. “Please,” You whined. “Think I’m gonna cum.”
The blond railed into you one last time before speaking in a deep, sultry voice. “Go ahead, baby girl. Show me how much you like having me take your virginity.”
You gasped as your cunt suddenly clenched around Luke’s cock, your cum coating his condom-covered dick. “Oh my god,” You yelped. “Oh god, Luke. Feels so good.”
Luke chuckled as he came himself, panting heavily. “God, you're such a good girl.”
You blushed, feeling yourself tighten again at his words. You had heard of a praise kink before, and you were pretty sure that that was your thing, seeing as how your pussy was practically dripping every time Luke complimented you. Your boyfriend slowly pulled out, removing the condom and tying it up, before throwing it into the trash can beside the bed.
“Was that okay?” he asked you with a smile on his face.
You giggled, eyes glazed over from being fucked out. It wasn’t a lot, but for someone who had never had an orgasm before, you were wiped. “It was perfect.”
The blond smiled, grabbing a bottle of lotion off his nightstand and beginning to rub it across your body. Your skin was slightly red and had a few scattered bruises blooming from where his fingers had dug into your hips, and Luke wanted to make sure you felt as loved as possible. He rubbed the cream onto your skin, taking great care to treat your body with love. You had just given him a great honor, after all, and he wanted to respect that.
“You were perfect, you know that?” he hummed. “My perfect girl.”
You blushed as Luke finished, curling up next to him and pulling the sheet over your naked bodies. “That was the way I always imagined losing my virginity to go, you know?”
Luke smiled and kissed you. “I love you, darling.”
“I love you, Luke. Thank you. For everything.”
And as you two fell asleep, he knew you really meant it. You were his girl. Forever.

Ashton was obsessed with how much bigger he was than you.
At first, he just thought it was adorable. He stood at least a foot taller than you, and he loved to pick you up or give you piggyback rides. When he realized how much bigger his hands were, he teased you about it constantly. He’d put stuff on the top shelf just to watch you struggle to reach it, or so you’d have to ask him to get it for you.
He thought it was adorable and hilarious, until he realized how hot it was.
He could pick you up and fuck you senseless against the wall. His large hands could wrap effortlessly around your throat as he pounded you into the mattress. And occasionally there was a bulge in your tummy when he would bury himself completely inside of you that drove him absolutely wild.
When he realized how hot he found your small size, he just couldn’t stop himself from grabbing you whenever he was feeling needy. If you were in another room, he’d just pick you up effortlessly and carry you to your shared bedroom. Or he’d bend you over the armrest of the couch and make you stand on the tips of your toes so your pussy was the same height as his cock. Or he’d get you in the shower and pick you up to fuck you against the tile wall.
He was a horny bastard, and he’d be the first person to admit that.
It wasn’t always Ashton’s fault, though. You loved to tease him until he had no choice but to fuck you senseless.
Like the day you were at work and he was home, and you decided to tease him through text the whole day.
It started with an innocent enough picture in your work outfit, but you were wearing the skirt that Ashton went crazy for. For good measure, you had pulled it up a bit just for the picture, to make it look shorter. When he responded the way you had wanted him to, you followed up with a dirty text. You had him hooked, and you didn’t stop until you got into your car to drive home.
The second you walked through the door, you found yourself shoved up against the door and Ashton’s hand around your throat. He was squeezing just enough to make you feel lightheaded.
“You naughty girl,” he said, his voice husky with lust. “Do you know how difficult you made my day? I couldn’t get anything done because all I could think of was bending you over in this skirt.”
You squeaked as he slipped his other hand under your skirt. He ran his middle finger over your clothed clit. You whimpered.
“You’re already so wet,” he said. “Have you been fantasizing about having my cock all day? Is that why you were teasing me while you were at work?”
You nodded, but he squeezed your throat a little more. “Use your words.”
“Yes,” you whimpered as he relieved some of the pressure on your throat. “Yes, Ash.”
He was smirking. “You naughty, naughty girl.”
You gasped as he slipped a finger under the lace of your panties and started to run it through your folds. You moaned as he applied pressure to your clit and rubbed agonizingly slow circles. You were becoming lightheaded from the pressure he was applying to your throat, and that was making the feeling of him working on your clit more intense.
He slipped a finger into you and you cried out in pleasure. With your eyes screwed shut from the pleasure, you couldn’t see the look of satisfaction on Ashton’s face. He loved how good he could make you feel, especially when it was just with his fingers.
“Does it feel good, baby?” he asked. “Do you like these big fingers inside your little pussy?”
“Yes!” you cried out. “Fuck yes, Ash, it feels so good!”
He added a second finger, stretching you further. He curled his fingers to stimulate that soft spot inside of you that made you start to see stars.
Your first orgasm hit you without warning. You started to tremble and your vision went white as you clenched around him. You went slack in his arms as your body went numb. Ashton pulled his fingers from you and took hold of you so you wouldn’t fall. You tried to stand on your own, but your legs were too weak. Ashton picked you up to carry you to the bedroom. He laid you down gently onto the bed and pulled your skirt and panties off at one time. You could see the outline of his boner fighting against his sweatpants. You sat up to tug at the waistband of his sweatpants, pulling them and his boxers down just enough for his hard cock to spring free.
He ran a hand through your hair. You looked up at him through your eyelashes and asked, “Can I suck you dick, Ash? Please?”
He groaned in response and pulled your head towards him. You took his cock in your hand and pumped him a few times before wrapping your mouth around the tip. You ran your tongue around the head just as slowly as he had been touching your clit early. His breathing was already becoming staggered as you did, and the hand that was resting in your hair still was starting to grasp at the strands. Slowly you started to take more of his length into his mouth. You didn’t want to over do it just yet, but Ashton involuntarily bucked his hips forward in pleasure and drove his cock into the back of your throat. You gagged and pulled off of him quickly.
“Awe, my little princess,” he cooed. “Can’t even fit this big dick in her little mouth. How are you going to fit all of it in your pussy?”
You ignored his comment and took him in your mouth again. You knew you wouldn’t be able to take the full of him, but something about his comment made you want to take as much as you could possibly handle. You wrapped your hand around the base of his cock, pumping whatever of his length that you couldn’t take in your mouth as you began to bob your head at the same time. Ashton threw his head back and groaned into the empty room, completely taken with the way your mouth felt around him. It was one of his most favorite feelings in the world, second only to the feeling of being buried balls deep inside of you.
You didn’t have him in your mouth for long before he was pulling at your hair, taking you completely off of him and pulling you into a kiss. It was sloppy and quick, and soon enough he was pushing you back down onto the bed.
“I can’t do any more teasing,” he said. “I need you.”
You stripped off your shirt and bra, and he took off his own shirt and kicked his sweatpants and boxers somewhere onto the floor. He climbed onto the bed, towering over you. You remembered how intimidated you felt seeing him like this for the first time. You knew Ashton was anything but intimidating or scary, but his height made it feel like he was towering over you. Not to mention the size of his cock actually had you worried at the time that he wouldn’t fit.
Now, though, the sight of him kneeling over you, his cock red and stood at full attention, was an extreme turn on.
He lined himself up with your entrance, running his tip through your folds to collect the moisture that was left from your orgasm. He pushed into you slowly, giving you time to adjust to every inch of him. One of your hands was gripping at the sheets beneath you, while the other was holding onto Ashton’s hand. He watched as he disappeared inside of you until his pelvic bone was pressing against your clit. He leaned down to kiss you, his entire body covering yours.
His thrusts started slow as he buried his head into the crook of your neck. He placed small kisses over your neck and collarbone. Each inwards thrust made his pelvic bone brush against your clit in a way that sent shocks of pleasure through your body. You could feel the pressure slowly building up in your stomach. While you didn’t want to cum again just yet, it was almost frustrating how slowly it was starting to build. You wanted to chase that high quickly once it had started.
Ashton pulled away from you to sit up on his kneels. He pressed a hand against your stomach and you gasped at the feeling.
“God, I love when I can see the bulge,” he said, looking down at where your bodies were connected. “Can you feel me deep in your guts, princess?”
“Y-Yes,” you breathed. “God, Ash, it feels so good. I’m getting so close.”
“Cum for me, princess. Let me feel you tightening around my cock.”
He pressed his thumb against your clit and started to rub circles until the pressure in your stomach became too much. You called his name as you felt yourself cumming again, this one somehow more intense than the first. Ashton groaned at the feeling of you squeezing his cock and it was enough for him to hit his climax, too. He buried himself completely inside of you as he spilled his seed into you. You were both panting messes as he slumped on top of you.
You giggled and pushed at him. “Ash, you’re going to crush me.”
“Can’t move. Feel too good,” he responded.
“You won’t feel good if you crush me to death.”
He pushed himself up on his elbows to hover over you. “I wouldn’t crush you to death. You’re dramatic.”
“Try having someone who’s basically twice your size lay their full weight on top of you, then tell me I’m being dramatic.” You sat up a little to kiss his nose before flopping back down onto the bed.
Ashton reluctantly pulled himself from you. You couldn’t help but pout from the empty feeling as he did so. He got up and went to the bathroom to get you both clothes to clean up with. He passed you yours, still nice and warm from the sink, and you quickly wiped yourself down. You grabbed his shirt from the floor and pulled it on while he pulled on his boxers.
“So,” he said, “got what you wanted, then? That was the idea behind sending the naughty texts?”
You grinned slyly at him. “Well, I did expect you to fuck me until I couldn’t stand, but I also just felt like being in a teasing mood.”
“I can’t believe you wore the skirt. I love that skirt. That skirt was supposed to be for me to see and me only.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him back down onto the bed with you. “Other people may have seen it, but just remember you’re the only one allowed to bend me over in it.”
