“What the fuck…” You mumbled, scrolling through your email.
You were sitting in the library, trying to study for your upcoming biochem exam, but failing a bit. You were getting distracted by everything, hence why you were scrolling through your email on your laptop instead of studying. The email was from two hours ago and it was asking you to come to the dean’s office today at three for a meeting.
You began to panic a bit, wondering why on earth the dean wanted to have a meeting with you. You had never, ever been in trouble academically or ever, for that matter. You were a bit behind on your loan payments, but not so much they were rescinding your admission, right? You cursed when you realized that it was currently two-thirty, and the dean’s office was on the other side of campus.
Quickly shoving your laptop, books, and stationery into your bookbag, you hurried out of the library that you loved oh-so-dearly. Going to Columbia University had been your dream since second grade, and that day that you saw the main library on your tour in tenth grade just confirmed that this was the school for you.
You slowed your pace a bit when you got closer to the building, taking a moment to soak in the crisp, fall air and the splotches of autumn that decorated the New York City sidewalks. You pulled your cardigan tighter around yourself and hurried up the steps of the School of Professional Studies.
“Hi,” You whispered quietly to the lady at the front desk as you signed in.
“Oh, it’s you,” she said, eyeing you up and down. “You’re a very lucky girl.” she winked.
You furrowed your brow, wanting to ask what she meant, but not wanting to be rude. You eventually just shook your head and sat down in the lobby while you waited to be called back. This was a huge school, full of children of the rich and famous. She must’ve had you confused with someone else.
“Y/N Y/L/N?” the dean asked, walking out into the lobby. “Follow me.”
You quickly picked up your backpack and followed him, deep into the building where his office was sat. You struggled a bit to keep up with his long strides, being a bit out of breath when you finally reached his office.
“Take a seat,” he said not unkindly, opening the door for you. “This will be quick.”
You took a tentative seat on one of the down chairs on the opposite side of the desk, trying to control your breathing. You were afraid your features would show your fear, so you tried to keep your face even.
“Ms. Y/L/N, you are extremely lucky…” he started. “Your tuition has been paid in full by an anonymous donor, to include everything you will need to complete your undergraduate degree.” he smiled.
“I’m sorry, what?” You asked, trying to stay polite, but also wanting to know what the fuck was going on.
“Someone has paid your tuition in full. Do you have any idea who it could be?”
“I…no…” You said, hoping the blush wouldn’t creep onto your cheeks.
You knew exactly who it was. There was only one person in your life that had that much money. Ivy League schooling wasn’t cheap, after all. You wouldn’t tell the dean who it was, though. That wouldn’t be good for a number of reasons.
“Enjoy your time here at Columbia, Y/N. You’re free to go.” the dean smiled, nodding towards the door.
You stood on shaky legs and walked out of the room, trying to process what you had just heard. No more student loan payments, no more living paycheck-to-paycheck, no more working at your shitty fast food job until 2 am. You pulled your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans and typed out a message as you walked out of the building and stood on the steps.
You: was it you???
Luke: Was what me, darling?
You: you know exactly what i’m talking about
You sighed, deciding to walk the half a block to your favorite cafe while you waited for Luke’s response. Your relationship with the blond was complicated. He wasn’t quite your sugar daddy, but he also wasn’t fully your boyfriend. It was never meant to spiral into a relationship, but Luke made you want more. Being a Columbia graduate himself, you had met him at a philanthropy event last spring. You had shared drinks and dancing, before he took you back to his large penthouse for a hook-up.
Ever since then, Luke had made it clear that he enjoyed your company. He spoiled you beyond belief, both with material things and with a very active sex life. Being a Wall Street investment banker had given him the attitude that he would take what he wanted, and you were no exception. As much as you were an independent woman in your studies, having Luke in your life took some of the stress away. Going over to his place after a long day of classes, only to receive a mountain of physical affection and usually a gift or two, was just what you needed.
Just as you finished ordering your chai latte, your phone pinged with a new message. You sat down at a cozy table in the corner and pulled out your laptop while you waited for your coffee, looking over the text.
Luke: Come over. You’re done with classes for today, right?
Luke: I’ll order dinner.
You smiled, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen loose from your braid behind your ear. You quickly typed out a message, thumbs flying across the screen. Even as frustrated as you were at the possibility of Luke paying off all of your tuition, you couldn’t help the way your heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing him.
You: getting coffee, then i will<3
You smiled when Luke typed back three red hearts. He was never one for emojis, mostly because of how professional he was. Every now and then though, you were the lucky one to see that softer, less-professional side of him. As soon as your coffee was placed in your hand, you dashed out the cafe door, walking towards the nearest subway station to catch the train to Luke’s apartment at the southern end of Central Park.
Your heart was absolutely racing as you got closer and closer to the blond. Luke was unlike anyone you had ever met. He had an almost electric pull on you. Luke bore a striking resemblance to a prince, or maybe a king. The way he commanded his office and then carried that dominance home to you was probably the hottest thing you had ever experienced in your twenty years of life.
As soon as the subway pulled up to your stop, you were leaping off the train and up the stairs to the sidewalk. As soon as you got out of the tunnel, you couldn’t help but to crane your neck. No matter how many times you came to Luke’s apartment, you couldn’t help but to be in utter awe when you came upon Billionaire’s Row. The sky-high buildings made of glass and steel were highlighted so beautifully by the rest of the city lights.
You hurried your pace a bit, eager to see Luke inside of one of those penthouse suites. Eventually, you came upon the building that you knew all too well. Walking inside the lobby, the man at the front desk smiled at you, his name tag reading Randy.
“He’s home,” he smiled. “Right over here.”
“Thanks,” You smiled. “I don’t mind taking the regular elevator, y’know.”
“Oh, please. Take this one.” he unlocked the private elevator that would take you directly to Luke’s apartment.
“Thank you,” You smiled as the doors began to close when you stepped in. “I’ll see you later?”
“If you leave tonight.” Randy chuckled.
As soon as you were on your way up, your heart began to flutter faster. You hadn’t seen Luke in a few days because the stock market had been picking up and so had your classes, which made you so beyond eager to be around him once again. The elevator dinged and the doors to Luke’s apartment opened.
You stepped out onto the plushy, white carpet, looking around for the blond. “Luke?”
“Hey baby,” he hummed, coming out of the kitchen and wrapping you in a hug. “Miss me?”
You giggled when he buried his face in your neck, his stubble scratching your neck. “I did.” You said sweetly.
As soon as Luke pulled back, you looked up into his deep blue eyes before speaking again. “Luke, were you the ‘anonymous donor’ that paid my tuition?”
“I was. What? I can’t spoil my girl?” he led you into the kitchen, rolling up the sleeves of his white button-down.
“Luke,” You insisted. “I never said that, but that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars. You don’t need to do that.”
“Watch your mouth, princess.” Luke gave you a stern look as he poured you a glass of Merlot.
You blushed, shrinking under his gaze. Even when it wasn’t sexual, Luke had a dominant aire about him. Maybe it was because he worked in such a high power industry, or maybe it was just the way he was, but the blond made you want to submit to him, clinging onto his every word.
“I just want to make sure we’re, y’know, equal. I want to make sure you feel loved, too.”
Luke slid the wine glass across the island to you, where you had taken a seat at the bar. “I don’t need that.”
You snorted. “Contrary to popular belief, you like feeling loved too.” You craned your neck and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Luke rolled his eyes, walking around the island and wrapping his arms around your midsection. “So you wanna know how you can make me feel appreciated?”
“If you wanna call it that, sure.” You shrugged.
“You can be my little toy for the next week. You’re free use for me,” he smirked, growling softly in your ear. “You think that’s equal?”
You nodded quickly, knowing Luke was going to take free advantage of the week, but not caring. “I think so.” You giggled.
“You know I love you, right?” Luke asked. “I don’t want you worrying about your tuition anymore. It’s done, it’s taken care of. You’re going to relax and let me make you feel good, darling.” he hummed, massaging your shoulders.
You blushed under the subtle dominance of Luke’s words, relaxing into his touch. You nudged your head into Luke’s chest and he chuckled softly, knowing exactly what you wanted.
“You’re so cute when you need me, baby girl.” he picked you, holding you under the ass and abandoning your wine glass on the counter so he could carry you to his large master bedroom.
You laid your head on his shoulder, speaking out a soft ‘I love you’. It had been a long day between classes and the stress of the news you’d received and now you just needed Luke to take care of you so you could relax for a little while.
Luke placed you down on his soft, silken sheets when you reached his bedroom, humming softly. “On your knees, honey.”
You did as he asked, kneeling softly and looking up at your dom with soft doe eyes. You were practically reeling with relaxation and happiness over Luke’s validation. You watched him softly while he bustled around the room, taking off his watch and getting things ready for the night.
“Good girl, baby,” Luke praised you. “You’re doing perfect, honey.”
“Thank you.” You said sweetly, knowing Luke enjoyed it when you responded verbally.
“Go wait in the bathroom for me, honey. I’ll be there soon.” Luke told you, looking at you sternly but speaking softly.
You scampered off to Luke’s luxurious bathroom, wondering what he had in mind. Usually, he would dom you in bed. You wasted no time on kneeling on the bath mat beside the jacuzzi tub, still fully clothed. If there was one thing you loved to do, it was be Luke’s sub. Something about letting someone else take the reins and guide you, sexually or not, helped you relieve your stress from attending such a demanding university.
Luke didn’t make you wait long. He came into the bathroom and saw you kneeling, giving you immediate praise. “Look at you, honey. Waiting like a good girl.” he cooed, flashing that million-dollar smile that had been on the cover of Forbes magazine last month.
You blushed, giggling softly. You could feel yourself slipping into subspace, that floaty feeling taking over your head as Luke fussed over you and took care of you. You leaned into his touch as he ran a hand through your hair, before moving to start the bath water.
“Nothing like a nice bath to help you relax, right love?” he smirked. “Arms up.”
You did as the blond asked and Luke pulled off your sweater. He left your glasses on, but reached for the button on your jeans. Luke slowly helped you stand up and then pulled your pants and your panties off, trailing little kisses from your collarbone down to your pubic bone. You could feel the way your body had completely relaxed into your subspace, molding like jelly at whatever Luke told you to do.
The blond fiddled with the settings on the tub, turning on the jets and adding the red lights, which were his absolute favorite. Luke put your favorite, rose-scented bath bomb into the tub before speaking. “Get in the bath, honey.”
You stepped into the large jacuzzi tub, holding Luke’s hand and sinking into the warm, fizzy water. “Thank you.”
Luke smirked, enjoying the way your face was tulip-pink at all the attention being showered on you by him. He wasn’t going to push you today; he had seen the stress lines that had burrowed their way deep onto your face. Besides, you two still needed to have the tuition conversation and he didn’t want you to be totally fucked out for that. Just enough to help you relax.
“I think you need some entertainment while you’re in the bath, hmm? Wouldn’t want you getting distracted…” he smirked, running his ring-clad pointer finger under your chin.
You immediately rested your chin on the ledge of the large tub, watching Luke with expectant eyes. He pulled back for a moment, just enough to make sure you were fully paying attention, but not enough to make you panic. Luke began to undo the buttons of his white shirt, smirking at you as he teased you so fucking slowly, ringed fingers pulsing as he worked.
Letting out a few soft, sensual moans didn’t seem to phase the blond. He simply continued to slowly undress, making sure you were watching the whole time. He wasn’t not not acknowledging you, but he also wasn’t giving you the attention you were oh-so-craving. Finally, Luke came to his gray, Calvin Klein boxers. He slid them off slowly, smirking at you as he did so.
“Mmmm, want you to dom me, Luke. Please. It’s so big.” You whined.
“Ahh ahh, we don’t whine, honey. I think you forgot to ask nicely, hmm?” Luke stood towering over you, completely naked, but in all his godlike authority.
Even in your fuzzy subspace, you could see why all of Luke’s female assistants fawned over him. He looked like something sent straight from Mount Olympus with his blond curls, perfect nose, and regal body type. He had a commanding aura about him, no matter what he was doing, and despite his multiple (yes, multiple) PhDs from different Ivy League universities, it was easy to understand how he did so well in the New York Stock Exchange.
“Sorry sir,” You whispered out. “Can you please dom me?” You asked in a sultry tone.
“That’s what I like to hear,” Luke planted a kiss on your head as he stepped into the tub with you. “Good fuckin’ girl.”
You giggled and blushed, still kneeling even in the bath. You kept your eyes trained on Luke, which proved a difficult task from here. Luke’s master bathroom was made up of crystal clear glass windows that allowed for a view of practically the whole city since he lived on the 69th floor. With the sun starting to fade into a hazy dusk and the lights of the skyscrapers popping on one-by-one, it was hard not to get distracted, but you wanted Luke’s pleasure much more than you wanted to enjoy the view.
You and Luke sat face-to-face, and he watched your eyes intently, wondering what joys he would unlock tonight. He began to rub your thigh up and down with his hand under the soapy water, keeping his eyes trained on you.
“Relax, pretty girl,” he whispered. “Just let me take care of you.”
You began to relax under Luke’s touch and gaze, that is, until he began to sneak his fingers closer and closer to your opening. You unconsciously clenched your thighs around Luke’s hand, your nerves sensitive. You began to whimper, wiggling your hips closer to meet his fingers.
“Oh god.” You whined.
Luke smirked, running his fingers along your wet slit and trailing it over your clit. He smirked as he did so, scooting closer to you. “I want you to cum all over my fingers, princess. Get all that stressed properly fucked out.”
You moaned, thrusting your hips against Luke’s pulsating fingers. The blond began to make small, raindrop-like pulses on your electric spot, enjoying the view as you squirmed under him, practically riding his fingers.
“Good girl, honey. Takin’ it like the slutty little school girl that you are.” he coached you.
Your climax was beginning to build up, and you couldn’t help the moans and whimpers that escaped from your mouth as Luke finger-fucked you. As he tapped near your clit, he used three fingers on the other hand to slowly slide them in and out of your pussy.
“That’s it, baby. That feel good? Yeah?” he smiled, knowing you were entirely too close to say anything other than small ‘yes’’s and ‘uh huh’’s.
You were nearly crying as you tried to hold yourself back from clenching and cumming all over Luke’s fingers until he told you to do so. Your sex was absolutely throbbing with the way Luke was touching you, and the warm water from the tub was not making it any easier.
“Luke,” You nearly screamed out. “Making me need to cum.”
The blond gave one last time of really working up your rhythm, before kissing your chest. “Go ahead and cum for me, baby. Cum all over my fingers.”
You didn’t need to be told twice. You quickly released, and your walls began to clench around Luke’s fingers, coating them in your cum. The blond coached you through your climax, offering lots of praise and compliments.
“You are so pretty when you cum, princess,” he cooed when you had finished, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Takin’ my fingers like a good girl.”
You blushed under Luke’s words, leaning your head against his shoulder when he pulled you into his bare chest, hand running up and down your side. Luke had an almost intoxicating way of making your orgasms one of the most exhausting, but best, things you did.
“I think you need one more for good measure. Make sure all that stress is properly fucked out, yeah?” he asked you.
You quickly nodded, never saying no to Luke pleasuring you. The blond ran his fingers through your hair and down your face and upper body, making sure to keep you fully relaxed in subspace. Because you were essentially sitting on his lap, you could feel Luke’s cock hardening under you and you couldn’t help the blush that spread across your cheeks.
“Turn around on your knees, honey,” Luke coached, moving you off his lap. “Right over the jet.”
Doing as Luke asked, you had to bite your lip at the sensation of the rushing water tingling your clit. “Oh.” You moaned.
The blue-eyed man chuckled, caressing your upper back. “Feels so good, doesn’t it, princess?” he whispered in your ear.
You nodded, gripping the edge of the tub to keep yourself steady. Luke grabbed his white button-down that he had oh-so-conveniently placed on the tub ledge. He quickly used it to wrap your hands around the faucet.
“I want to make sure you enjoy this in the right way.”
You moaned at Luke’s erotic words, angling your hips back so that your ass would meet Luke’s boner. He pulled you back by the hips slowly, offering you lots of praise as your body melted like butter in his hands, allowing him to touch where and however. The blond told you to stay on your knees and lean forward into your bond, angling your back, and you whined as you felt the pressure placed on your already sensitive pussy, even without Luke’s dick.
Luke was practically a sex expert, and he knew your anatomy almost better than you did. That being said, he knew he needed to take you from behind in order to hit your G-spot. Your second orgasm was always faster than the first, and he wanted to make sure that he would get the pleasure of you cumming not only on his fingers, but on his dick as well.
He slowly straddled you from behind, his hips pushing into your ass, before inserting only his tip into you. The pleasure on the blond’s face was evident as he heard you release tiny moans and pants, already nearly overstimulated, just from an inch of him inside you.
“Someone’s eager,” he chuckled. “Did studying all day wear you out? Made you nice and needy for my dick, baby?”
You moaned, nodding your head and straddling against your restraints. “Yes…” You breathed out. “Yes sir.”
“That’s what I like to hear. Good girl.” Luke slid more of his dick inside of you, painstakingly teasing you.
You pushed your ass further against him, trying to take as much of him into you as possible. Luke was a big fan of doggy style and you had gone through this many times before; Luke didn’t give in to what you wanted right away, but nevertheless, you always tried. You tried desperately to distract yourself by looking out at the scenic cityspace in front of you, but the view was no match for the magic that was Luke.
“You are so fucking hot when you listen to me, Y/N,” Luke growled, tugging on the ends of your hair slightly. “Obeying just the way you’re supposed to like a good sugar baby.”
You moaned, craning your neck back and arching your back as the jets overstimulated your clit and electric spot and Luke’s dick teased your hole. “Uh huh…oh god, Luke.” You whined.
Finally, after what felt like forever to you, Luke slammed all eight inches of himself inside of you, bucking his hips so that you could feel his shaft pulsating. He began to ride you at an almost frenzy rhythm, slamming his hips into yours so that the sound of skin hitting skin and jacuzzi water splashing echoed around the room. The blond knew that if people in other high-rises looked hard enough, they could see him riding you doggy-style within an inch of your life. He didn’t care, though. You wanted to act like a good sub that was practically begging with your eyes for a slutty fuck, that’s what you would get. Besides, billionaires were too scandalous themselves to speak about their colleagues’ sex lives.
“Luke,” You nearly sobbed out, overstimulated by the jets rocking your clit and Luke railing you from behind. “Need to cum.”
Your second orgasm was always faster than your first and you could feel the tight ball building up in your lower stomach, begging to be released. The overstimulation from pressure on your clit and penetration from Luke was having tears running down your cheeks. Luke wasn’t letting up though. He wanted you to be so worn out that you could just relax and let him take care of you.
“You can cum, honey,” he hummed, fucking into you one last time before slapping your ass. “Cum all over my dick.”
You immediately did as told, crying out and straining against your bond as you released your climax. “Uh uh…feels so good.” You panted out, walls clenching around his cock.
Luke rubbed your back as you did so, gently guiding you through it. “That’s it. Good girl. Cumming all over my dick.”
You moaned loudly, thoroughly exhausted. “Thank you.”
“Ah ah,” he tutted. “You’re not done yet, baby girl,” Luke slowly untied the shirt that had bonded you. “Turn around.” he huffed coldly.
You did as he asked, looking up at him through your lashes. He had a smirk on his face, body radiating dominance and power as he lifted your heads above your head and tied them once again to the faucet with the shirt, only this time, you were facing him.
“You really thought you were gonna be done without me getting my pleasure off you?” the blond asked.
You blushed under his gaze, unconsciously bucking your hips to meet his. “Use me. I love you, so use me.” You panted.
“Think you need a nice facial to help you relax, hmm sweetie?”
You nodded quickly, knowing what Luke was getting at. “Please.” You said, eyeing his massively-hard boner.
Luke began to pump himself with his right hand, rings still on. It was probably the hottest thing you’d ever seen, with his head thrown back, blond curls wet and plastered to his forehead, and his muscles bulging as he worked himself. You wiggled in the grasp of his white shirt, moaning loudly. You were beginning to get cold in the water without his body on you and you were making it very clear that you wanted him again.
“Gonna cum, baby.” he huffed out.
“Do it. Cum all over me, sir.” You whined in a sultry voice.
Luke didn’t need to be told twice. He immediately came all over your face, coating your eyes and cheeks in white ropes of cum.
“God, baby. So pretty.” he said, watching you blink the cum out of your eyelashes as he rode out his high.
You blushed. “It’s because of you.”
Luke reached for a washcloth in the fine basket beside the large tub and dipped it into the water, slowly wiping your face off with the warm, wet rag. “I love seeing you when you know you belong to me, princess.” he crooned.
You giggled softly, loving the floaty feeling that was coming from being in your subspace. “Thank you.”
The blue-eyed man continued to wash you off with the cloth, removing the stickiness from your face and body. Luke looked over and realized he had left a crystal champagne flute by the tub the night before.
“Do you need your hair washed, princess?” he asked.
You immediately nodded, absolutely loving it when Luke washed your hair. “Please.”
Luke smiled, placing a kiss on your forehead before using the flute as a sort of cup to wet your hair and using his own shampoo (which was vanilla scented, but no one else needed to know) to wash your hair. You melted under his touch, allowing Luke to take full control, directing you to close your eyes and lean your head back so he could wash your hair.
“All done, honey. Sit in the bath while I dry off.”
His words hardly registered in your brain. The wonderful feeling of being totally fucked out and having someone wash your hair had made you so sleepy. Luke quickly stepped out of the jacuzzi, wrapping a plush, white towel around himself and grabbing his phone from the vanity. The view of you naked, fucked out, in his huge jacuzzi and against the background of crystal-clear glass and the lights of Billionaire’s Row in Manhattan was too pretty for him not to snap a photo of.
The blond quickly dried himself off and dressed in a pair of cozy gray sweats with no shirt. No matter how much money he made off of Wall Street, that outfit would always be his pajamas. Luke pulled the plug in the tub, lifting you out of the tub easily and wrapping you in a pink towel with your initials monogrammed that you left at his apartment for hookups like tonight.
“Kneel, honey, so I can dry you off,” he told you. “Good girl.”
You melted under Luke’s touch as he dried you off and lathered you with sweet-smelling lotion. He slipped your red, silken nightie with lace details over your head before picking you up. Being your sugar daddy, he figured it was only fair to spoil you after you had pleasured him so well and that was exactly what he planned on doing. Luke carried you to bed, tucking you in softly. “What are you feeling for dinner, baby?”
You shrugged, feeling so sleepy and out of it. “You pick.”
“Nope, it’s your night, princess.” he chuckled softly.
“You already did, well, what you did today with the money and all. Let me order it.” You said, reaching for your phone.
“No ma’am,” Luke jerked it back. “You’re going to let me spoil you. You have two choices, baby. Seafood or steak.”
“..steak. Thank you.” You blushed.
Even though you had known Luke since the spring, you were still getting used to the whole “sugar daddy” thing. It was still rather unfamiliar to you to let someone else care for you, especially someone as rich as Luke. The blond easily ordered the food from both his and your favorite Michelin Star restaurant, easily curling up in bed with you after.
“Thank you for today. For everything. Are you sure it’s okay?” You asked quietly.
“Princess, I told you. The only thing you owe me is free use of that slutty little body for the next week.” he told you, burying his face into your neck as he spooned you.
You blushed and giggled softly, pushing yourself further into him. “That sounds good to me. But seriously, thank you. Helping me with my education means more to me than you know.”
“I know. That’s why I did it. Besides, smart girls are hot girls.” he smirked.
You happily cuddled into Luke’s side, sighing happily. And if Luke spent the rest of the night being beyond soft and caring for you, no one else had to know.

“I’m sure you boys are incredibly busy now more than ever,” the interviewer said, referring to the band’s many new surprises in store. “I can’t help but wonder what you guys are most excited about.”
Luke was nodding along to the woman, barely paying attention and silently hoping for the interview to end faster. Ashton had always teased Luke for having a blank stare during these interviews and the fans have caught on, too, but he couldn’t help being bored talking about the same things over and over again.
“So busy,” Michael agreed, taking the reins on the question. “We’ve got new music coming out, we’ve been working nonstop to release them and film music videos, too. Not to mention our tour coming up in a couple of months. But to speak for the boys, I think we’re all pretty excited to have our music featured in a movie.”
Ashton was quick to chime in. “Yeah, we’ve worked real hard on this one, we were in the studio for hours trying to perfect it and we hope we did the movie justice.”
The interviewer shifted through her binder of notes and questions. “It’s safe to say everyone is stoked to hear it in theaters,” she concluded. “But the question that’s been on everyone’s minds is, Luke, how do you feel about writing a song for a movie your girlfriend is the face of? Could you walk us through that process?”
Calum quietly nudged Luke in the side, bringing his attention to the woman sitting before them. “Oh yeah,” Luke coughed, readjusting his posture in his chair. “I’m super excited to help bring this story to life, it’s been a real journey to go through the entire process of it all. I’m especially proud of y/n for getting the lead role, it’s been a dream of hers to get this far and I’m so lucky to have her in my life and watch her grow as an actress.”
“Aw,” Ashton leaned into his mic, making the boys laugh. “So cute.”
“Very cute,” Luke retorted with a small smile. “She’s great and definitely deserves this role; she’s worked so hard on it and it really shows on the screen. As for the music, I agree with Ash when he said we worked our asses off on it. y/n definitely put in a lot of input on this one, not actually, but she was a great inspiration throughout the writing and producing process.”
Michael grinned at his friend, picking up his mic. “He’s downplaying it,” he quipped. “When the producer reached out to us to write something up for the movie, Luke was really into it. I mean reading through the tidbit that the producer sent us, rereading the book the movie was based on, all of it. Out of the four of us, Luke was really the one who took the wheel on this project and y/n was a big part of the reason why.”
Luke turned red at Michael’s explanation, but it was true. He was ecstatic to hear they wanted 5 Seconds of Summer to add to their soundtrack, and he was even more excited to hear it was for the very movie you just received the lead role for. You both found out the news on the same day and were over the moon excited.
“I got the part!” you yelled, running down the hall to Luke’s office with Petunia following close behind you. “Babe! I got the part-”
Luke swung the door open, a look of disbelief on his face. “They want us to write a song for the movie,” he announced.
Your eyes were wide at his news. In an instant, you jumped into his arms and he caught you, spinning you around as you both let out shouts of joy. Luke peppered kisses down your face and neck, anywhere he could reach, in pride.
“I’m so proud of you, baby,” he told you earnestly. “I’m so so proud of you. You earned this!”
“We earned this,” you corrected him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling into a kiss.
“Guilty,” Luke sheepishly admitted to the interviewer. “I love my girl, what can I say?”
The woman let out a chuckle before getting back into the interview. “All the fans are happy to hear that,” she told him. “Last question and it’s for Luke again; so Michael said that you read the book for “What Lies Between Us,” and so you probably know that there are a couple explicit scenes in there, particularly between the lead and her love interest, played by Harry Styles. We all are very aware of your past with One Direction, having toured with them and gaining your fame through the tours. How do you feel about your girlfriend and friend coming together for these intimate scenes?”
The boys “oohed” immaturely as Luke blushed, shaking his head. You had already told him there would be scenes like that in the movie, not because he was jealous or would prevent you from doing them, but just to be open with him. After a discussion, the both of you were on the same page about the scenes, agreeing that it’s just work and holds no value offset.
“Yeah, n/n told me about them,” Luke chuckled, taking a sip of water. “And I don’t have anything to say about them. y/n is a great actress and so is Harry. They’re respectable workers and take their job seriously. I trust them both, not that that matters.”
“Well said,” the interviewer applauded. “So even beyond the explicit scenes, do you mind that they will be portraying lovers throughout the film?”
Luke set his water on the ground. “I mean, who doesn’t love Harry Styles, he’s handsome,” he joked playfully. Luke’s crystal blue eyes stared deeply into the camera. “No, I don’t mind at all. It’s all for the movie. Styles may have my girl in the morning and afternoons, but at night she’s mine to hold to sleep.”
Luke entered the bedroom, sighing loudly as he hunched over to throw off his shirt. You had been laying there waiting for his arrival home, reading over your agenda and going over your lines in your pajamas under the covers. Petunia was sleeping soundly at the foot of your bed, unbothered by his usual antics.
“You’re home late,” you mused, setting your pen down. “Everything okay, bub?”
Luke moaned and groaned while kicking off his dress pants and replacing them with his more comfortable pair of sweatpants, eventually falling face down onto the bed. You giggled at his dramatics, your hand going to play through his blond curls. He relaxed at your touch as he reached for your hand and kissed it softly.
“Do you think Harry is more handsome than me?” he asked, eyes peering up at yours.
You raised your eyebrows curiously. “Do you want the answer of a 1D fan since high school or the answer of your loving girlfriend?” you joked. You and Luke both knew how deep your love for One Direction was as a teenager. He loved to tease you about your posters and t-shirts, not to mention the Harry Styles cardboard cutout you received as a birthday present one year.
Luke let out another grumble as he rolled onto his back. You scooted forward to rest his head on your lap. “Both,” he decided.
You hummed, resuming your twirling of Luke’s hair. “Well as your girlfriend,” you began. “I think you are the most handsome man to ever walk this planet.”
“And the 1D fan?” he begrudgingly asked.
You took your finger and softly traced along the bridge of his nose, trailing down to his jawline. “I think Harry Styles is very very handsome,” you answered. Watching Luke scrunch his nose in childish jealousy, you leaned in closer. “But I think the lead vocalist of the band that opened for One Direction was way better looking, sweeter, and all around so much better,” you whispered as though you were letting him in on a secret.
Luke pushed you away, sighing loudly once again as you threw your head back in laughter. “That’s the girlfriend speaking!” he whined.
“We’re one and the same, Lu,” you scolded playfully, reaching for your boyfriend. “Just because my seventeen year old self was too obsessed with Harry doesn’t mean I don’t love you and find you all the more attractive now.”
Luke let out an unconvincing huff, making you furrow your eyebrows in confusion. “What’s gotten into you, bub?” you asked, concern taking over your curiosity.
“The interview was all about you and the movie today,” he responded, tucking himself into bed and taking his spot beside you, nestled warmly in your chest.
You snorted, resting your hand back into his hair. Not only were his curls extremely soft at the touch and soothing to play with, you knew -while he would never admit it aloud- Luke loved when you played with his hair. “Didn’t realize I was a tough topic to talk about,” you jested.
Luke rolled over so he was practically laying half of his body on yours. “Nooo,” he said, voice muffled by your shirt. “You know I love to talk about you, baby. It’s just I got a question about you and Harry being love interests.”
You stiffened, clearly caught off guard. “Oh,” you could only muster out.
The musician nodded, burying himself into your chest and wrapping his arms around your waist. “People can be so annoying sometimes,” he huffed in frustration. “Why would I care if my girlfriend is playing Harry Styles’ love interest? It’s not like it changes anything between us or between me and Harry.”
“It’s because people are misogynistic and gross,” you explained with an equally upset frown. “Just because I’m a woman in the film industry, they think I’m going to fling myself at any man I act with. It was the same for my last movie. I don’t understand why people are so quick to judge and point fingers.”
Luke lifted his chin and cupped your cheek affectionately. “I’m so sorry this is what you have to deal with everyday,” he apologized. “It’s bullshit, and I’ve made it crystal clear that you should be respected and valued for your work, not who you kiss or whatever on the screens.”
“You can always shut down the questions if they ask you,” you reminded him. “You don’t have to make yourself uncomfortable.”
Luke bit his lip in thought, a habit you found adorable and mesmerizing to watch. “But I’d rather answer these questions and stop the narrative about actresses and showmances. It’s not fair for you guys to be scrutinized about your love lives and image while male actors never get those kinds of questions.”
Your lips trembled in awe of Luke’s small rant. You had never felt so loved and appreciated by the man like you did right now. He was ever a gentleman in a world of childish boys. “You know I love you, right?” you asked him with a tearful smile.
Luke raised his thumb to the corner of your eyes to wipe away a stray tear. “It’s the bare minimum to support my girl,” he told you. “I love you, too, baby.”
Settling back down under the covers with your lover, you rested your head on top of his. “You don’t have to worry about me and Harry,” you reassured him. “It’s strictly business between us, and he’s aware of that.”
“I’m not worried,” Luke said, his eyes fluttering closed. “Get some sleep, love. You got an early morning ahead of you.”
The next morning, you woke up refreshed with your boyfriend still fast asleep beside you. You smiled to yourself, taking a mental image of the singer nestled beside you. His arm was snug around your waist and his nose was buried in your chest, a normal routine you’ve found the both of you falling into when he was home from tours. What you hated the most was ending said routine when you had to wake up before him for filming.
You slowly removed his arm and slid out from under the sheets, trying to not wake him. Of course, ever the heavy sleeper, Luke remained asleep, taking one of your pillows as an adequate replacement for you. You quietly began your morning routine of brewing coffee for yourself, brushing your teeth, and styling your hair. Petunia followed behind you, being the momma’s girl she was. You let her go outside as you got started on preparing breakfast. Normally, you’d make breakfast and coffee for two but you were called for an earlier shoot, barely before sunrise, so Luke would no doubt be asleep for a while.
Finished with breakfast and giving Petunia her required pets and kisses, you went back upstairs to get dressed for the day. You thought you had been relatively quiet, but nonetheless the singer woke up to you, half dressed, on the other side of the room.
“What a sight for sore eyes,” his raspy voice praised.
You turned your head around as you slipped on a pair of pants, rolling your eyes at him. “You should be asleep,” you scolded lightly.
“And you should still be in bed with me,” he reprimanded in the same tone. Luke lazily reached across the bed for you, only short by a few inches.
“I have to be in for an early shoot,” you reminded him. “You know I’d be asleep right beside you if I had the choice.”
Luke groaned, making you laugh as you ruffled his hair similar to how you’d pet Petunia. “Why can’t you call out?” he whined like a toddler.
You kissed his forehead and set for the door. “If I did, I’d be out of a job,” you told him. “Then who would Harry kiss on camera?”
“Not funny!” Luke yelled out as you grabbed the rest of your things and left your home.
“Love you!” you shouted back, closing the door behind you.
Luke rolled over back to his side, grabbing his phone and absentmindedly scrolled through Twitter. He figured that since he was already awake, he might as well look through his notifications before formally getting up.
On Twitter, he realized in the bottom of his screen that he received thousands of tagged mentions. Curious, he clicked on the icon to see multiple photos of you and Harry outside the studio. You two were snuggled under a blanket, far too close for his liking. The smile on your face was one Luke was familiar with because it was the look you always gave him. Jealousy burned in his chest before he realized it.

Luke frowned at the back and forth in the comments, as well as additional tweets he was tagged in regarding the Hemmings vs. Styles drama, a drama he didn’t even knew had begun. Frustration and envy brewed inside him despite his strong attempts to fight the urge. He had promised you he wouldn’t get jealous. Hell, he didn’t expect himself to feel this way. He knew you, of course. And he knew Harry very well. In his right mind, he knew there was nothing behind the photos nor your staged romance. But the damn photos and tweets and people raising the question of the stability of his relationship…anger was clouding his mind and he could barely think straight.
By the time you got to set, you were rushed into hair and makeup. You were used to the fast paced nature of the studio and settled into your routine with ease. As your hair designers twisted and pulled your hair back to prep for your wig, you saw a familiar figure catch your eye.
“Good morning, darlin’,” Harry greeted with a chaste kiss on your cheek. You snorted at his thick Southern accent he had been practicing all year long. While he had improved significantly, you found that his drastic change from a charming British lad to a cheeky Southern man was still too bizarre to get accustomed to.
“Hello, honey,” you said back in a Chicago accent, remembering to stay still for the dressers to apply your wig. The accent you portrayed was one that your character had, a sharp-tongued divorcee. “Didn’t expect you to come in on time.”
“Love, I’m always on time,” he chuckled, sitting beside you to allow the artists to work their magic. “You’re just cooped up in your trailer doing God knows what with that husband of yours.”
You laughed, eyes shut as your dear friend and makeup artist Alisha applied eyeshadow. “Not my husband,” you corrected him.
“Well you’ve been dating him long enough for him to might as well be,” he joked. “You seriously mean to tell me Hemmings hasn’t put a ring on your finger?” You nodded as much as you could, considering Alisha was very adamant on perfecting your concealer under your eyes. “Well, he’s got to get a move on before I make a move myself.”
The two of you laughed, knowing the banter was light and all jokes. “Careful now, sweetheart,” you said, reverting back to your Chicago accent. “Mr. Hemmings might get a little jealous.”
“Can’t have that now, can we?” he drawled, back in his Southern accent. “But you make such a pretty little wife on screen, how can I resist?”
“You tease!” you exclaimed, clutching your heart and remaining in character. “Mr. McClantire, you know I’m a faithful woman.”
Finished with his makeup, Harry stood up and readjusted his suit jacket. “Mrs. Abernathy, a lady like you should be cherished,” he explained, taking your hand and brushing his lips against his lightly. “I’ll meet you on set.”
You chuckled, taking your hand back to fix your hat your stylist had expertly pinned to your head. “I’ll see you then, Mr. McClantire.”
Leaving you be, Harry left the dressing room and gently closed the door. Alisha clicked her tongue at the British singer turned actor, shaking her head. “Always a tease, isn’t he,” she hummed, applying hair spray liberally. “He better watch himself or the media will end up in a frenzy with his flirtatious attitude.”
“He’s a sweetheart, I know he means no harm,” you defended him, sipping your tea serenely. “I do believe he’s been seeing someone though so I know there’s no weight to his words. But I do admit his habits are going to make Twitter go crazy. Luke has already gotten wind of some of the news and gossip.”
Alisha rested her hand on her hip, lips pursed in thought. “Only a matter of time before he gets jealous,” she mused playfully.
“He won’t,” you said back, not expecting Alisha’s warning.
“Oh honey,” she shook her head. “You know men, they’ll get jealous.”
Luke looked at the TV through the mirror reflection in his dressing room as he adjusted his dress shirt’s sleeves. Nearly a while had passed since the finish of filming and it was a matter of days until the movie’s premiere. Your schedule consisted of plenty of interviews and promo events which resulted in more drama tabloids being released about you and Harry. A scowl rested on his
and Harry on the screen talking with the host of the show. You were animatedly telling a story while Harry’s arm rested behind you. Albeit casual, Luke couldn’t help but glare at the gesture.
“If looks could kill, he’d be dead,” Ashton mused from behind the blond singer.
Luke brushed off his comment, turning away from the vanity. “I just wish he’d keep his bloody hands off her,” he muttered enviously.
Calum was distractedly scrolling through his phone on the couch, no doubt bored, waiting for their cue to get on stage. “And sit fifty miles away from her?” he suggested plainly, sarcasm dripping from his voice. “Mate, they’re friends, of course they’re going to sit beside each other.”
“But with his arm around her?” Luke pressed impatiently, fighting the urge to run his fingers through his hair. You reminded him constantly before arriving at the studio to not touch his hair. You’d worked so hard to style and gel it while he focused on his makeup. The blond settled for crossing his arms on his chest and tapping his foot.
“Yeah,” Michael agreed with Luke. “He should cut it off,” he joked, dodging Luke’s swat of his hand.
Ashton patted Luke’s shoulder, setting him down on the couch. “Calm down, Luke,” he instructed. “Take some deep breaths or else you’ll pop a vein. I understand how annoying publicists have been with Harry and n/n, but you shouldn’t let them get to you.”
“How can I when they talk about my girl?” Luke seethed, his composure rigid. “They talk about her like she’s a fame chaser, going after Harry for publicity even though she’s been practically an A-lister since she was a kid.” Luke shuffled in his seat, frown permanently on his face.
“Then I hardly see how Harry’s got anything to do with it,” Calum raised an eyebrow.
Luke stood up from the couch as quickly as he had sat down. “Because he’s–he’s–” Luke stumbled over his words. Finding no reasonable excuse, he angrily kicked his foot against the table only to yelp in pain, clutching his foot and jumping up and down. “That fucking pretty boy.”
Michael sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You can’t really give into those gossip tablets, can you?” he genuinely asked.
Luke paused, long enough for the boys to shake their heads in disappointment. “It’s the hair!” he lamely blamed, throwing his hands in the air.
The boys’ conversation was interrupted by a set assistant, knocking on the door while opening it. “Five minutes till your performance,” the boy squeaked.
Ashton was the one to speak up for the group. “Thanks, Roberto,” he said gratefully. The moment the boy left, Ashton turned to the boys. “We’re going to discuss this more later after the show. Luke, please be civil with Harry.”
“Says the one who fucked his sis-”
“None of that now,” Ashton cut Michael off, not wanting to rehash his past. “Now let’s get on stage before they have our heads.”
The boys made their way down to the set, hiding discreetly behind the curtains. A frenzy of assistants scurried by, ensuring that the boys had their instruments and everything was perfect before they got on stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Five Seconds of Summer!”
The stage manager nodded at the cue, ushering the boys through the entrance. Luke was the first to walk through, waving at the audience and smiling at fans screaming in the back. They got settled on the side stage, instruments in tow as they turned to the host of the night.
“Thank you for having us, Jimmy,” Luke spoke into the mic, trying not to wince at the squealing girls in the crowd. His eyes were trained on you, who had stood up and clapped for the band as they came in. You were now seated, eyes sparkling in excitement.
Jimmy Fallon leaned back in his chair. “We’re glad to have you, Luke,” he responded. “Hope the dressing room wasn’t too snug for your guys?”
“Oh no Jimmy, we quite enjoyed it,” Ashton answered from behind his kit. “Reminds me of the good old days when we’d share Luke’s bedroom to change before filming our performances on YouTube.”
The crowd laughed at Ashton’s quip, Jimmy especially as he shook his head in laughter. “Good to hear,” he said. “And what do you guys have for us today?”
Michael was next to take the lead. “Well initially we thought we were going to perform our song for What Lies Between Us,” he began, followed by more applause and cheering. “But we thought it would be better to leave that for the premiere.”
“Correction: our publicist thought it would be better,” Calum joked, however there was no fabrication behind it; their publicist did think it would be best.
“So we decided to play a song from our album that’s yet to come out,” Michael finished. “Jimmy, this is “Bad Omens.””
The crowd loved the song as much as you did, finding that song to be one of your favorites of the album. Upon finishing the song, the boys set down their instruments for the backstage staff to collect and made their way to the couches.
You and Harry stood up to greet each of them, Harry with a handshake and you with a kiss on the cheek. Luke took your hand, kissing you brightly on the lips before sitting down beside you. Jimmy made a cheeky face, teasingly looking at you and your boyfriend. The crowd chuckled at his behavior and you did the same while Luke kept his hand possessively on your knee.
“Well this is a new development,” Jimmy mused, folding his hands on top of his desk.
You waved off his comment with an airy giggle. “Oh this?” you asked, gesturing between you and Luke. “Old as time.”
“We’ve actually been together for what, a little over ten years now?” Luke explained, glancing over at you with a proud smile. He relished the feeling of the crowd clapping and whooping at your relationship.
Jimmy whistled at Luke’s comment. “And no ring on the finger?” he pressed. “I mean, you’ve had to have thought about it before?”
You nodded reassuringly. “Oh a million times,” you responded. “But God knows that when you deal with one of these boys, you have to deal with all of them.” You jabbed your thumb at the three boys to the left of you, shoving their lanky arms against each other as they tried to get comfortable on their seats. Luke cleared his throat to get their attention, the boys flushed in the face as they quit their quarreling. “I’ve known them since they went on tour with One Direction and we finally ended up dating afterwards. But now, I’m ready to get married and settle down. I’m just waiting on Hemmings, here.”
Luke chuckled at your last comment, seemingly taking them lightly. You furrowed your eyebrows at his reaction, but decided not to act upon it. “She’s very much so anticipating that question, Jimmy,” he confessed. “It’s only a matter of time, but I’m in no hurry. This one, however…” he trailed off, grinning at you.
“A girl has dreams,” you defended yourself.
Jimmy snapped his fingers at your words, a thought coming back to him. “Yes, you certainly do!” he exclaimed, reaching under his desk for a frame as he changed the subject. Confusion and hurt brewed inside you, but you quickly pushed those feelings down. “y/n, you’re not a stranger to dreams, right?”
“Oh, definitely not,” you agreed with a dubious expression on your face.
“So I hope you don’t mind when I show a little memento from the past your mother sent over.”
“Oh God,” you groaned, turning to hide your face in Luke’s shoulder. “What did she send over now? I told you to lose her number, Jimmy.”
Jimmy raised his hands up in surrender. “She makes a great lunch partner,” he defended himself. “y/m/n, if you’re watching tonight, we’re still on for Tuesday?” You rolled your eyes as Harry threw his head back in laughter. “Joking, joking, not really, but-”
“Jimmy,” you said in a warning tone.
“Alright, alright,” he relented. “Anyways, your mother found a letter you wrote back when you were in middle school to the tooth fairy-”
Michael choked on his own saliva, jerking forward. “n/n, you still believed in the tooth fairy when you were in middle school-”
“I don’t want to hear it, Clifford,” you clipped back through your teeth as you smiled rigidly. You still had one last baby tooth in at the time, you still had your hopes out for the mythical creature.
Jimmy raised his hand to cut off the side chatter as he read from the framed letter. “And you, at age thirteen, had one dream that you wished the tooth fairy would grant you.”
“Dear Tooth Fairy,” he read aloud as you crumbled in embarrassment. “I have finally lost my last tooth, so I guess this will be the last letter I can send you.”
“Aww,” the boys gushed in unison, causing you to shoot them an icy glare.
“To end this amazing tooth filled saga, I have one last wish. You see, it’s been my dream to meet One Direction.”
“Jimmy!” you screamed, covering your face in humiliation as the memories started to flood in. Luke covered you in his arms as you folded over yourself, laughing along but equally curious about what was in the letter.
Jimmy, nonetheless, continued reading. “And I have a favorite singer in the band. If you could pull some strings and make Harry Styles my boyfriend, I swear to you I’ll write a letter to you everyday -even though I have no more teeth to give you- and will solemnly swear to be your best friend forever. Let him be my boyfriend, pleaseeeeee.” The audience let out a boisterous laughter as Jimmy emphasized your silly, childish writing. “Love, y/n.”
More clapping filled your ears as you raised your head to face Jimmy. In the corner of your eye, you saw Harry resting casually beside you, facing you as he leaned against the couch.
“I’m flattered,” Harry told you, an amused smile resting on his lips.
You pressed your lips in a straight line. “Thanks, Har,” you deadpanned.
He patted your shoulder in a friendly manner. “No, it’s real sweet,” he reassured you. “Truly, cute, even.”
“That’s not all we have,” Jimmy spoke up as he put away your framed letter. He waved off your groans and complaints. “It’s not bad, not bad. I’m sure you all remember the Golden Globes back in 2012 when y/n made her first appearance in the hit TV show, The Last Elites of Cardenia.”
The crowd cheered as a photo of you as a child appeared on the screen. It was a shot of you in the show, dressed up in your furs and pearls as per your character, Cecilia. The next photo was of you on the red carpet with your show family. Your braces were highly visible in your smile, making you wince at the rough photo.
“I loved that show,” Ashton sighed, full of nostalgia. “Cal, Michael, and I would binge that show every night after concerts.”
“You didn’t watch it, Luke?” Jimmy asked curiously.
Luke sheepishly shook his head. “No, I didn’t,” he answered honestly.
“I’m offended, babe,” you teased, your hand over your heart in mock offense.
Michael snorted. “It’s not like he didn’t like the show,” he told you. “He just could barely follow the storyline whenever you popped up on screen.”
The boys gave Luke playful punches as he blushed. “I-I couldn’t help it!” he exclaimed. “You were just so cute on screen, you were my celebrity crush for the longest time. I mean you were a right entitled bitch in the show but meeting you in real life, I just was-“
“So down bad,” Ashton finished for him. Luke was about to correct him but you were quick to cut him off.
“Baby,” you cooed, pinching his cheek.
Jimmy laughed along with the conversation, pointing towards the screen as he spoke. “Speaking of celebrity crushes,” he continued. “We have this old footage of you on the red carpet answering some questions.”
The day was bright as you appeared on the screen. A youthful innocence covered your entire self, from the way you gathered yourself to your voice. A woman was behind the camera, only her hand holding the microphone could be seen.
“And who might you be?” the woman asked you.
You smiled brightly. “I’m y/n!” you chirped. “y/n l/n but most people know me as Cecilia from The Last Elites of Cardenia.”
“Nice to meet you, y/n, I’m Mei,” the woman greeted, shaking your hand. “This is your first time here at the Golden Globes, how are you feeling?”
“Oh, I’m sooo excited, Mei,” you answered honestly and giddily. You could hardly stand still. “My mom picked my outfit today so I’m feeling very confident and pretty!”
“And who do you want to see most today?”
You cocked your head in thought. “Harry Styles!” you exclaimed. “I heard One Direction’s going to be at the after party, so I really hope to see him. He’s my biggest celebrity crush,” you gushed unabashedly.
The clip ended and everyone turned to you, where you were frozen and wide-eyed.
“Where the hell do you find this stuff, Jimmy,” you sighed, face palming annoyedly.
“Oh, the vault, you know,” Jimmy responded cheekily. “But that leaves us wondering how you feel now, starring alongside your celebrity crush in the film “What Lies Between Us?””
You tapped your chin. Harry glanced over at you. “Be honest, darling,” he reminded you in a sing-songy voice.
“Well I can definitely say that my teenage self is absolutely losing her mind,” you answered. “It’s something out of a dream, if you think about it. I mean, I never knew I’d come far enough to star in a highly anticipated movie, nevertheless star alongside Harry. It’s a blessing, surely, but now, I think that fangirl side of me has been laid to rest.”
Jimmy turned to your boyfriend. “And what do you think, Luke?”
The musician gave the host a close lipped smile. “Whatever makes n/n happy,” he settled brusquely.
Jimmy, satisfied with his response, began asking questions for the other boys about touring and their music. You whipped your head around and raised an eyebrow at Luke for his short response, but Luke didn’t make eye contact with you. Concerned, you reached for his hand on his knee but he pulled back, folding his hands together. Never had you felt more confused and isolated than you did at that moment. You used to be able to read his mind, but now it felt like he’d closed his mind in walls you couldn’t seem to get past.
“What was that about?” you demanded, following closely behind Luke as you walked into your shared home.
After that awkward end to the show with Jimmy Fallon, you, Harry, and the boys went out to dinner. You thought that moment with Luke was just a one-off thing, but he remained in his rigid composure for the rest of the night. The boys would talk boisterously throughout the dinner, sharing stories of the past tours with One Direction and catching up on life afterwards. But Luke was the only one who remained silent, opting to focus on his glass of red wine he never seemed to finish. You made attempts to speak to Luke, nudging him or trying to meet his eyes from across the table but he refused to look up the entire time. Frustrated, you let it be but it was clear you were upset to the rest of the table. Harry had even pulled you aside after you all paid for your meals, asking if things were alright and if he had overstepped at all. You reassured him he did nothing wrong, it was Luke who was being childish at the moment.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he brushed you off, heading upstairs to your bedroom. He removed his suit jacket and started unbuttoning his dress shirt nonchalantly, as if he hadn’t done anything wrong or pissed you off.
You entered the bedroom, heels kicked off as you crossed your arms on your chest. “Let me refresh your mind,” you spat. “You’ve been nothing but rotten towards Harry and I tonight. What’s gotten into you? I thought you said you wouldn’t get jealous-”
“And I’m not,” Luke fought back. “God, you can be so conceited sometimes, y/n.”
“So that’s what it is?” you snapped back. “I’m just being self-centered and your head isn’t stuck up your ass?”
Luke aggressively pulled his sleeves up, leaving half of his buttons undone while placing his hands on his hips. “Yes, it would appear so,” he answered shortly. “You’re overthinking what’s going on, y/n, I don’t know what to tell you.”
“Do not gaslight me, Luke Hemmings,” you ordered, walking up to him to stand chest to chest. “I know your mother taught you enough for you to know that is not the way to go when arguing with me.” Luke huffed, giving in on that one statement because you were right; he did know better.
“Fine,” he muttered. “I am upset. And I have every reason to. I don’t like how close you and Harry have gotten, okay?”
Your jaw dropped in utter shock. “You mean my coworker?” you clarified sarcastically. “I’d hope I’d be close with him considering we’re playing lovers in the damn movie-”
“There you go again!” Luke’s voice boomed across the room, throwing his hands in the air. “You and Harry being lovers. Sometimes I’m led to believe it’s more than for the movie with the photos I’ve seen and the mere way you act with him.”
“Luke, I have no idea what to tell you,” you fumed. “We are acting. I have no romantic feelings for him and he has none for me. He’s seeing someone, for crying out loud! I thought you had enough trust in me to know nothing is going on between me and him.”
“I do trust you,” he argued. “But you couldn’t possibly look me dead in the eye and tell me you didn’t have romantic feelings at all during filming. You have been crushing on him for far too long for that to just go away.”
You hesitated, your face burning with frustration and humiliation. You hated to admit there was some truth to his statement. “I-I,” you stumbled over your words.
Luke’s nostrils flared as he glared at you, proving his point exactly. You threw your hands in the air. “He was a celebrity crush from when I was a teenager, Luke!” you shouted exasperatedly. “I had a little crush, that was it! And maybe it resurfaced a little at the beginning but I swear to you I don’t have those feelings anymore. It was a childish crush, Luke, you’ve got to believe me when I say that. I love you.”
Tears lined both of your eyes as you went to reach for his hand. Your thumb grazed his ring, the one you bought for him for your first anniversary. “I really don’t know,” Luke whispered, slowly pulling his hand away.
Your heart shattered at his words, falling to the ground you stood on. You had dedicated ten years of your life to this man, ten of the best years of your life to him. You grew up with him, made the best and worst mistakes of your lives, and survived all of that together. He was your person, your lover, your one being that you’d lay down your life for. Yet, the moment your relationship is tested, he falters. But you couldn’t blame him. One little crush resurfacing, and that managed to wipe out everything you ever created for yourself over the past decade.
You took a deep breath, fighting the urge to fall over and sob on the ground. Your hands opened and closed into fists as you took a step back. “Fine,” you said, shaky and uncertain. Luke almost caved at your voice, the mere way you spoke. You had always carried yourself with dignity and confidence. He was the one who stripped you of that, and you were just a shell of who you once were.
“I think I’m going to spend the night at Crys’s,” you told him, walking over to your closet and pulling out a bag. “It’s clear we both need space and time apart.”
Luke shook his head, taking your wrist. “Don’t do that,” he said. “Your premiere is in two days, you’re going to be worn out and exhausted if you don’t sleep right. I’ll head over to Cal’s and you can stay here.”
Taking back your wrist, you continued to pack your things. “It’s your house, Luke,” you reminded him. “Don’t worry, I’ll be okay spending the night with Crys and Michael.”
“Don’t bother them,” Luke insisted. “They’ve been busy building the nursery for when they plan on trying for a baby and-”
You winced at his words. He didn’t understand how much he hurt you with them, where he was only looking out for their sake and not yours. Realizing the deeper meaning behind his words, Luke tried to correct himself when you just raised your hand to stop him. He had said enough for the night, and so had you.
“I’ll find a hotel,” you finally decided. Luke was silent, heart aching and yearning for you, but too frozen to speak up and do anything about it. Finished packing, you zipped up your bag and turned back to him. “Goodnight, Lukey,” you said, kissing him on the cheek before leaving the house entirely.
Driving down the streets of L.A. you managed to find a small hotel on the side of the road that looked safe enough to spend the night. Carrying your bag, you pathetically entered the hotel in your dress from the late night show and a pair of flat shoes you slipped on before leaving. Your hair was no doubt a mess, no longer styled to perfection as Alisha once had it. Your mascara was probably running down your face, too. God, you looked like a mess in front of this poor worker.
The boy lifted his eyes to meet yours, slowly recognizing who you were but deciding to not speak on it. You looked like you had gone through enough tonight. “Room for one?” he asked you. You wordlessly nodded, rummaging through your bag to find your wallet for ID and your card. Handing them to the worker, you kept your gaze on your bag. In the process, you found your phone and checked your notifications.
Lukey <;3: please let me know when you arrive safely
You: im here now
Lukey <;3: okay, love. use the card i gave you to pay for your room
You: no, it’s fine.
You left the conversation at that, not caring if it were dry. You were exhausted and didn’t want to fight with him anymore. You had no more fight in you to give him.
The boy behind the desk handed you back your things along with your key card for the night. “Let me know if you need anything at all to improve your stay,” he told you politely.
You fought the urge to scoff at the boy. Like you could do anything to improve your stay, tonight was hell as it is. But you reminded yourself it wasn’t his fault you were arguing with the love of your life; it was yours. Thanking him quietly, you made your way to your room and tossed your bag on the foot of your bed, tucking yourself in next, still in your evening wear. You didn’t care if you’d ruin your dress or damage your face from leaving your makeup on overnight. It was too much for you to deal with right now.
Lukey <;3: goodnight, y/n
read 2:43 am
The next two days were utter torture for Luke. He kept contact with you through it all, ensuring that you had eaten, slept, etc. but that was all you’d tell him. Luke couldn’t decide whether or not he was grateful for your shortness with your words, if it would make him cave and go to you and forget everything or make him more upset. He was grateful he had your location still on his phone, and you had his. At least he could check on you and make sure you were alright and not in any trouble.
Luke was also guilty of checking if you had gone to Harry’s house. Guilt and upset rumbled in his stomach, as he felt like he crossed a boundary and invaded your privacy. But how could he not be curious about your whereabouts when you had confessed to him you still had some feelings toward Harry? It didn’t matter that you said those feelings came and went. What would happen if you tied the knot and you changed your mind about him?
Luke had trusted you with his life. He took your word as true most of the time, but now he was unsure. He wasn’t sure where he lied with you now. He loved you still, yes, and he’d still sacrifice his own happiness for you. Perhaps he blew things over proportion between the two of you. You swore you still loved him and no longer felt anything for Harry. But why did Luke still feel something wrong in his chest?
He still had mixed feelings about your argument on the night of your premiere. Luke was in Ashton’s living room, quietly sipping on a beer as he waited for the rest of the band and their significant others to meet them there to travel to the theater together.
Ashton slipped on his jacket, entering the room and looking over at his friend. “y/n not joining us tonight, mate?” he asked. He knew what had happened those nights ago. He was the first person Luke called the moment you left, staying on the phone with him until five in the morning. You had even called him later that day to ask for his advice. He was grateful you both thought of him as an older brother figure, and he wanted nothing more than to get you both together to talk through it.
Luke set his bottle down, not wanting to get drunk on your important night. “No,” he replied with a heaved sigh. “She texted me that she’ll get there on her own because Alisha wanted to do her hair and makeup.”
Ashton sat down beside him, patting his back. “That’s good she’s still talking to you, right?” he brought up, trying to look on the bright side.
“Only because I made her swear to keep me updated,” he grumbled. “If it weren’t for that, I think she’d block my number.”
“Now that’s not true,” Ashton told him seriously.
Luke shrugged his shoulders. “I practically told her I didn’t trust her anymore,” he said, ashamed of himself. “But it’s fair, isn’t it? I knew in my stomach that there was something going on between her and Harry.”
“But there wasn’t,” Ashton reminded him. “She said her feelings toward Harry resurfaced, but she didn’t act on them in any way.”
“But what if one day she wakes up and realizes she can do so much better than me?” Luke asked, voice cracking. He didn’t want to think about that, but that’s all his mind would conjure. “Then she’ll leave me for him and I’ll be the idiot that was strung along the whole time.”
Ashton leaned back on his sofa. “I think you owe y/n more credit than that,” he said. “She loves you, she said so herself. And if she really wanted Harry, she wouldn’t have fought for you like she did.”
“You’re right,” Luke supposed. “I just feel so guilty now.”
“You can talk to her after the premiere,” Ashton settled. “Trust me, she wants to talk to you, too.”
The two were interrupted by Ashton’s door swinging open to reveal the remaining boys and their significant others. Ready to go, Ashton and Luke joined them outside to hop into Michael’s car.
Luke got settled in the back seat, reaching for his seat belt when Crystal turned around to face him. “How are you holding up, bub?” she asked, a comforting smile on her face.
He grimaced but tilted his head in response. “Definitely could be better,” he said earnestly. “But Ash helped me through it.”
Crystal reached behind her to pat his knee soothingly. “I’m glad,” she said. “y/n’s the same. I stopped by her hotel this morning to catch up on things.”
“And she’s okay?” Luke leaned in, interested in learning anything about your whereabouts and how you’re doing.
Crystal put on the same expression as Luke. “About the same as you,” she responded. “But don’t worry, everything will work out in the end.”
Luke braved a smile. “I hope so.”
The carpet leading up to the theater was packed with reporters and photographers trying to get a glimpse of the actors featured in the film. The band was far behind, stuck in the traffic of people stopping them to ask a few questions.
“Boys!” a man called out. “Over here! I’m here with Vanity Fair.”
The boys shared a glance and went up to the man. “My name is Aamir and I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about tonight.”
Michael stood in the front, taking Aamir’s extra microphone. “Let’s hear them!”
“This is the first time your music is being featured in a movie as big as this,” Aamir stated. “How are you all feeling?”
Calum drew in a breath, deciding to take this question. “I mean, how can we feel?” he responded. “It’s a mix of feelings, I can tell you that. I think on behalf of the band, we’re all just really nervous but excited to put out this music for the film. It’s really different from our typical kind of music, but we hope you all love it the same.”
“I’m sure we’ll all love what you have in store for us,” Aamir said confidently. “Luke, how are you feeling tonight? It’s a big moment for your girlfriend, y/n l/n, as this is her first lead role in a highly anticipated movie. Can you give us an insight on how y/n is feeling and how you both prepared for tonight?”
Luke tried to not let his rigidity and awkwardness show on camera. There was enough dubious press about the two of you after that show with Jimmy Fallon. “I’m sure she’s over the moon about tonight,” he answered, eyes flickering to the camera. “She’s been so excited for this moment and all her hard work has come down to tonight.”
“And how have you prepared together?” Aamir repeated his second question with curiosity as to why Luke didn’t answer in the first place.
Luke bit his lip, trying to answer without showing he was completely unsure. “Well-“
Cheers erupted from the crowd as a limo approached the carpet. Luke thanked God for that distraction because everyone -including himself- turned to see what the commotion was about.
You stepped outside of the car, dressed in a long white gown that resembled a wedding dress. Luke could only describe you as ethereal as you shyly waved to the photographers and interviewers. He’d never seen you so shy in public, since you’d been in front of the cameras since you were a child. Your eyes were trained on the ground, a shaky smile on your face that didn’t quite reach your eyes.
Reporters shouted at you, desperate to get a word or two with you. Dazed by the flashing lights and loud noises, you took a step forward to where the people were blocked by a gate. In your nervous stature, you began to tremble, hands reaching out for stability but struggling to do so. Your ankle gave way, causing you to fall to the ground. People shouted and “ooh’ed” but no one ran in to help you.
Rushing forward, Luke ran over to you and wrapped his arm securely around your waist as he guided you back up. You gasped, looking up at your savior and realizing who it was. His name was on your lips but no sound could come out; you were too shocked to say anything since you hadn’t formally spoken to him in days.
Luke gave you a reassuring smile, eyes glancing down at your lips to silently ask for permission to kiss you. You nodded, allowing him to cup the side of your face to kiss you softly. The moment your lips met his, you felt yourself get regrounded. Knowing he was by your side, you felt like yourself again: more confident.
The press ate up yours and Luke’s stunt, taking photos left and right of the two of you. You pulled away, your hand on his chest and feeling his heart beat quickly. “Thank you,” you whispered. Luke gave you a small nod but remained silent as he led you to the reporters.
A young woman caught your attention, pointing her microphone in your direction. “Are you alright, y/n?” she asked you, camera pointed at you. “I’m Irina with TMZ. We’re happy to see you tonight!”
Nerves began to creep in as you drew a blank at her question. Luke’s hand squeezed your hip comfortingly, providing you with the stability and strength you needed to get through the event. Nodding to yourself, you opened your mouth to answer.
“I’m doing great, thank you,” you answered. “Just some first premiere nerves but they never killed anyone! I’m just really grateful Luke was here to save me from that little trip there.”
Irina pointed her microphone at Luke, who was taken aback but spoke nonetheless. “Anything for my girl,” he said with a shrug of his shoulders. “It’s her big night and I’m her biggest supporter. She’s my rock for concerts, I’m her rock for premieres. We have each other’s backs.”
Your eyes were stuck on Luke, mesmerized by his face and how his eyelids glistened in the light from his eyeshadow, no doubt from the palette you gifted him on his birthday last year. The corners of your lips quirked upwards, a warm and fuzzy feeling growing in your chest as you looked up at him with pride and love. You almost didn’t hear the interviewer’s final question.
“y/n, it’s been all over social media how you had a long standing crush on your co-lead, Harry Styles,” Irina stated. You felt Luke’s hand tighten around your hip without him realizing, no doubt irritated by that question. “How did it feel to kiss him and perform in intimate scenes with him?”
As you opened your mouth to respond, Luke cut in. “Respectfully,” he began. “I think y/n’s work goes far beyond who she kissed or who she did what with. She’s been in the film industry for as long as I can remember, and definitely deserves more questions that dive deeper than who she harbors romantic feelings for.”
The interviewer’s face flushed in embarrassment. “Of course,” she agreed, rushing to apologize. You simply waved her off, politely excusing both yourself and Luke out of the conversation with grace.
Luke remained by your side as you made your way through the reporters and photographers, staying silent unless asked a question. You thought he wouldn’t look at you from the way his eyes never met yours -except for when he kissed you, of course- but in fact, he had stared at you the entire time you spoke. Nothing but adoration filled his mind when he listened to you speak about the work you worked so hard to make. It made all of your past problems fade to gray, and he nearly forgot about your whole argument.
Once you entered the theater, you expected Luke to pull away to find the boys but he didn’t. You stopped in your tracks to turn to him. “You can go back to the boys now,” you whispered gently to him.
Luke was taken by surprise at your words, and hurt flashed across his face. “Do you want me to go?” he asked you.
You were quick to shake your head. “No!” you rushed. “I just thought…you know, it’s your big day, too. I figured you’d want to spend it with them.”
The blond took your hands in his and kissed them softly. “I want to be by your side through it all,” he assured you. “I haven’t seen you in days, and I don’t want a petty fight to get between us and celebrating your greatest achievement.”
Your publicity manager approached you, checking her watch every second or so anxiously. “The movie’s about to start,” she reminded you hurriedly.
You were about to tell her to give you both a few minutes, but Luke stopped you. “We can talk more later, okay?” he said. You agreed wordlessly, leaning in to give him a quick peck on the lips.
“Let’s go in together, babe,” you decided. Luke resumed his position beside you, entering the theater together proudly to watch the film the both of you dedicated so much time and effort into. And as Luke took your hand while you both sat in your seats, you knew that everything would be okay in the end.
Once the movie had ended, Harry invited you and the boys to his home for the afterparty but you politely declined, opting to spend the rest of the night with your beloved boyfriend.
Now, you and Luke took a walk around the finally quieted city, hand in hand. You were grateful you brought another pair of shoes with you because your heels were killing you, and you were more thankful for Luke who insisted on holding your strappy heels for you as you continued your walk.
“I really can’t thank you enough for saving my neck there on the carpet,” you said in a slightly teasing tone. “I would have actually melted into the floor if you didn’t come to my aid.”
“I meant what I said when I said I always had your back, y/n,” Luke replied, eyes trained on the sidewalk.
A pregnant silence followed as you made your way through the city, taking in the lights and cool summer air without any fear of paparazzi following close behind you. You found yourself nervously playing with the rings on Luke’s fingers as you tried to find the right words to say.
“I’m sorry for that night,” you began, avoiding his questioned gaze. “I should have been more open to you about how I felt from the beginning, but I really do promise that I don’t have any feelings for him. Not anymore, at least. It was a teenage dream come true, but…”
Luke raised an eyebrow at you. “But?” he pressed gently.
You stopped walking, turning to cup his cheek affectionately. “But that’s not my dream anymore,” you finished. “My dream is to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. Whether or not you decide to marry me, I want you in my life for all the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’m really sorry for ever making you doubt my love for you, and I’m sorry for not being receptive to your doubts and insecurities.”
“What makes you think I don’t wanna marry you?” he asked you. “Of course I do. I want to see you walk down that aisle with a dress as giant or as small as you want, as long as you become Mrs. Hemmings at the end of it. Or if you don’t want to take my last name, that’s fine, too. I don’t care if you want a big or small wedding or a wedding at all. If you want to take that oath in the townhouse and officially be mine -and I, yours- I’m perfectly okay with that, too.”
You bit your lip, trying to fight back your tears. “I was just nervous,” you confessed. “I knew you were upset by those questions about me and Harry, but I was upset, too. I just never told you how upset I was.” A stray tear trickled down your face but you stubbornly wiped it away, not wanting to cry. “We’ve been together for ten wonderful years, and all people would ask me is “when are you getting married?” “when is he going to propose?” And at first, I was fine with it. But the more people asked, the more anxious I was about the stability of our relationship.”
When Luke’s face gave away he wasn’t exactly following what you meant, you continued to explain further. “I’ve read so many tweets and articles about how undesirable I am, from the moment I turned sixteen. And the fact that you kept pushing off the idea of us getting married,” you looked away, embarrassed by your reaction to all of this. “It hurts, Lukey. And I know marriage isn’t a thing to rush into and I don’t want to force you into anything you don’t want, but those drama tabloids just make me feel so insecure.”
“I didn’t know you felt that way,” Luke frowned, pity settling in, but you waved your hand to brush it off.
“It’s stupid,” you decided, wiping away the extra tears that managed to escape. “I’ve always told you not to give into the press and social media, yet here I am doing that very thing. L-let’s focus on you, Luke.”
“We can talk about my stupid jealousy another time,” Luke fought to stay on topic. “y/n, why didn’t you tell me you were feeling like this? If I had known, I would have said something-”
“But that’s not how proposals work, Lukey!” you exclaimed. “It’s not something you do out of pity. It’s a decision you make when you’re sure and you’re not! That’s okay, I don’t want you to make a decision you’ll only end up regretting just to please me in the present.”
Luke took your hand in his, forcing you to look up at him. “Why do you think I’d ever regret marrying you?” he questioned. “y/n, you’re the love of my life. You’re definitely not my first girlfriend but I intend for you to be my last. You’re it for me, n/n. I do want to marry you and I intended to propose, I just wanted to find the right time and place for it. As for my behavior the past few months,” he sighed. “It wasn’t right of me to villainize you and Harry. You’re friends and coworkers, of course you’re going to get close. And I knew that the press would twist the narrative to make it seem like you guys were more than friends. I should have felt secure enough in our relationship to trust you completely, but I was also too insecure to let that be.
“Harry’s great. He’s talented, a better singer than I’ll ever be, and kind hearted. I’ve always felt like I was in his shadow, and seeing him with you made me feel self-conscious all over again. And all those news posts about him being your celebrity crush as a child made me angrier. I know it’s not something I should have blamed you for, I was just so jealous I could barely think straight.”
Luke stepped closer to you, his breath grazing your face. “I’m sorry for being jealous and ever doubting you,” he said honestly. “I should have trusted you when you said you no longer felt anything for him.”
“I’m sorry for brushing you off and not listening,” you said in response. “I promise you, Luke, you’re it for me, too.”
Luke choked back a laugh of disbelief, grateful for this whole ordeal getting resolved as he bent down to kiss you deeply. Your hands wrapped around his neck, pulling him in closer to finally taste him, smell him, feel him again.
Once you pulled back for air, you crinkled your nose as you smiled. “Does this mean we’re engaged?” you asked curiously, eyes sparkling with happiness and love. “You know, since we’re in agreement and everything.”
“I would have preferred to get down on one knee and that whole spiel,” Luke sighed dramatically. “But yes, I do suppose we are engaged.”
Grinning, you pulled him back down for another kiss. “We can get to that sappy stuff later,” you insisted. “I just want to spend the rest of my night with my husband-to-be.”

———
i shivered slightly as i stepped out of my car, the cold december air nipping at my cheeks and nose. i forgot how cold it got here. i had decided to visit my parents for christmas this year. i hadn’t been in my hometown since senior year of high school. i stepped to the back of my car, grabbing out my suitcase, then closing the trunk.
i rolled my suitcase up the driveway behind me, softly opening the front door of my parents house. i was quickly consumed by the warmth of my childhood home, and the scent of cinnamon and pine. “y/n! i’m so excited that you’re here!” my mother squeezed me into a hug. i smiled and placed my head on her shoulder, taking in her warm embrace.
“i’ve missed you, mom! where’s dad?” i asked, shrugging my coat off. she rolled her eyes, smiling softly. “watching football in the basement, of course. he’s probably fast asleep in his recliner.” she chuckled. i laughed, bringing my suitcase to my old room.
it looked exactly as it did before i left for college. my mother followed behind me, smiling wide. “we kept it all the same. figured it would be a nice trip down memory lane.” she nudged my shoulder. i smiled seeing my room again. id experienced so many things in this room, some good, some bad. i examined the photos sitting on my dresser. i bit my lip seeing one of the photos. i grabbed it, running my thumb over the frame, smiling sadly.
“i didn’t know if you wanted to keep any of those pictures or not,” my mom rest her hand on my shoulder. i shrugged, grabbing her hand. “it’s still all very bittersweet to think about.” i sighed, setting the photo back down. my mom held onto both of my hands, smiling warmly.
“his mom keeps in touch still, every so often we meet for coffee or tea.” my mother spoke, leading me into the kitchen. i sat down a the counter as she looked through the cupboards. she furrowed her brows, moving things around.
“well damn,” she breathed. “thought we had stuff to make homemade hot chocolate. wanna run with me to the store?” she asked, turning around to look at me. i nodded, getting of the stool i sat on. i slipped on my coat, and pulled on my boots, waiting for her to get her boots on too.
“alright, lets go!” she spoke, grabbing her keys off the hook. i smiled at the feeling of christmas nostalgia as i sat in her car. she started the car, cranking up the heat. she turned on the radio, the soft sounds of christmas music playing. as we drove to the little store in town, we reminisced on when i was younger, and how excited i’ve always been for christmas. we pulled into the parking lot of the small grocery store, making our way inside quickly to avoid being cold.
i rubbed my hands together to warm them a bit as my mom grabbed a shopping cart. “okay, first on the list is coco powder, then vanilla extract. those should be pretty close to each other.” my mother spoke as she lead the way to the baking isle. i scanned the shelves, getting distracted by one of my favorite drink mixes. i stopped quickly, grabbing the apple cider mix off the shelf. i walked quickly to where my mother was in the isle, seeing she was talking to someone.
“y/n, god i was just talking to your mum here, i haven’t seen you in years, how are you?” liz pulled me into a hug. i giggled at her happiness. “i’m real well, liz. how’ve you been?” i asked, pulling away from her. i looked into her kind eyes, missing that comfort.
“i’m great! all the boys are home for christmas and-” she was cut off. “hey mum i found the stuffing mix you needed,” his voice was as beautiful as i remembered it. i stood there fiddling with my hands as i watched him speak. sure i’d heard his voice on the radio when his band’s songs would play, but it wasn’t the same as hearing it over the radio. he glanced over at me, doing a double take when he realized it was me.
‘y/n? wow, uhm, hey.” he spoke nervously. i smiled softly, looking down at my feet. we had broken up just before i left for college. his music career was taking off, and we both knew it would be better for us to break it off. i never stopped loving him, hell, if i’m being honest, i never stopped thinking of him.
“hey, lu.” i spoke. his cheeks flushed at the old nickname. our mothers both chuckled at us, seemingly acting like kids again. “why don’t you kids go next door to the little cafe, yeah? we’ll do our shopping and catch up while you two go and get a coffe for yourselves.” liz smiled, nodding her head towards the direction of the cafe. i nodded, smiling at luke.
“y-yeah, okay.” he said shoving his hands into his pockets. i did the same, walking quietly to the cafe with him. “so…” he trailed. i nodded, smiling. “so. how have you been?” i asked, looking at his rosy cheeks. he was always one to get cold quickly. the tip of his nose had already been the same color. he bit his lip, making me notice the lip ring he once had was gone. he breathed in as we sat down at a table together.
“i’m good, erm, we just finished our fifth album a few months ago, were gonna start touring pretty soon.” he twiddled his thumbs around as his hands rested in front of him on the table. i smiled, pushing my hair behind me ear. “i’ve uh, actually been thinking about you, a lot.” he admitted. my cheeks grew warm.
“yeah? ive been thinking of you a lot too.” i spoke softly. he shifted in his seat, his leg bouncing under the table. i put my hand out on his knee, stopping the bouncing. his face grew bright red at the small gesture. “nothing to be nervous about, lu, relax,” i giggled. “it’s just me.”
he sighed, running a hand through his hair. “that’s the thing, its you. i’ve been thinking of you nonstop. i’ve honestly never stopped thinking of you.” he huffed. i lifted my hands to the table, reaching over and grabbing his. he looked up into my eyes. his baby blue eyes twinkled as he watched me. “i haven’t stopped either, lu.” i reassured him. he nodded, his blonde curls bouncing. “you think my mum would be mad if i asked her to ride home with yours so we can take my car and drive around town like we used to?’ he laughed lightly. i smiled, pulling out my phone, texting my mom to ask if they would mind. she quickly replied, telling us to go ahead, and that she'll see me later.
“so, riding around town?” i asked, standing up. he smiled, getting up after me. he lead me to his car. he opened my door for me, making me laugh. i slid into the seat, shivering at the still, cold air. he quickly scurried to the drivers side, starting the car. warm air blew at my face, making me relax. i looked at the buttons on the console, turning on my seat warmer. he chuckled at me. “not used to the cold anymore?” he teased. i tapped his shoulder lightly, rolling my eyes.
“oh hush. cause you’re so used to it still?” i poked at him. he chuckled again. we pulled out of the parking lot, driving through the empty streets. christmas was only a few days away, and i was only staying for a few days. i’d only been with luke for less than a day, but it felt like we’d never been apart.
“no, i swear on it, ashton really thought tadpoles were baby turtles! there’s even a video!” he laughed, i shook my head, gasping for air. we had been driving around for over two hours now, just talking about anything and everything. luke pulled off the road, driving on a trail. i had hardly recognized where we’d been until he stopped and parked.
i blushed, my heart racing slightly. we used to come here all the time for dates. we’d look at the stars and lay on top of his car, or we’d have a picnic. of course, we’d come here when we wanted to be alone. there’s a lot to the imagination of the events that have happened here.
he unbuckled his seat belt, turning himself to look at me. i did the same, looking into his eyes. “i never stopped loving you, y’know.” he spoke shyly. i nodded. “i never stopped loving you.” i grabbed onto his hand. he squeezed it, looking at our intertwined hands.
“a lot of songs were about you.” he blushed, playing with my fingers. i cocked my head. “how many?” i asked, playing with his fingers too.
“all of them.” he spoke flatly. he looked back up at me, his eyes glossy.
“i know that it was a mutual decision, but i always regretted leaving.” he sighed. i watched him as he tried to explain his thoughts. “i thought of you constantly, i still do. every song ive written, it’s been about you. it’s always been you.” he blinked, letting a few tears fall out. my hands lifted to his face, wiping the tears off. i moved my face closer to his, placing a soft kiss on his lips. his breath hitched, his hands traveling to my face.
the kiss was soft, full of passion. our lips melted together, just as they used to. i finally felt whole again, but i knew that this was temporary. soon i would be back home at my own apartment. as i pulled away, my eyes welled up with tears.
he wiped my tears away this time. “luke, i-” he cut me off, kissing me again. “i know. we’re both leaving in a few days. let’s make the most of it, yeah?” he kissed my forehead. i nodded. leaning my head against him. he snaked his arm around me.
“let’s remember the good times.” he pulled me out of my seat, making me giggle. i was on top of his lap, his face was red. he pushed his seat back, my hands falling atop of his chest. he grabbed my waist. my heart fluttered. i shifted my waist around on top of his. he groaned softly, guiding my waist to grind on him. i gasped as he pressed me down, the pressure making me shiver.
“fuck, y/n, been so long, keep that up and i’ll cum soon.” he whined, lifting my hips. i moaned at his words, my hands making their way to his waist, fumbling with his belt. he lifted his hips allowing me to slide his jeans down.
his hands found the button to my jeans, his hands sliding inside. i gasped as he pressed his hand against my bundle of nerves, my thighs trying to close against his hand. i pulled down his boxers, letting his cock free. i swiped my thumb along his tip, making his hips buck.
“no more teasing from now on, just wanna be inside you.” he moaned, pulling my jeans down my thighs, moving my panties to the side. he guided himself to my slit, rubbing against my clit as he did so, making my hips jolt. his other hand grasped my waist, making me stay still.
i moaned softly as his tip pushed inside me, both his hands now on my hips. i lowered myself on him, my head throwing back as he filled me up. “shit, feels so good, lu.” i cried, slowly rocking my hips. his grip tightened as i moved, his hands encouraging me to go faster. i began gasping for air as i bounced on him, his hips thrusting up to meet mine. “gonna cum, feels so fucking good, luke.” i choked. he groaned, pulling me down so my chest was to his. i hid my face in his neck, sucking and biting at his skin. his pace got faster as he fucked into me, my moans coming out in small gasps and sounds.
“come on baby, doing so, fuck, so good, love how you’re squeezing my cock,” he praised, my walls clenching around him as i got closer to my release. “cum on my cock, darling, wanna know how good i make you feel.” he kissed my shoulder. my orgasm washed over me, screams of pleasure erupting from my lips. he helped me ride out my high, pulling out from me soon after.
he kept my hips moving, grinding against his cock. he bit his lip and rolled back his eyes as hot ropes of cum shot from his cock onto his stomach and shirt. he slowed my pace, holding me as our bodies stilled. his hands traveled to my back, rubbing it as we tried to catch our breath. his fingers traveled to my hair, playing with it, stroking my head as i nuzzled into his chest.
we laid there for a few minutes before shuffling around, pulling our pants back up, and getting situated. he quickly pulled me back to him afterwards, holding me tight. i knew he was scared of losing me again too. i allowed myself to enjoy what time i had with him, even if it would only be a few days.
i looked at the window, seeing it was fogged up. i lifted my head to look at the other ones, seeing that they too were all fogged up. i giggled softly, thinking of how we caused that.
“what’s so funny?” he asked, smiling at me as i looked at him. i swiped my finger across the window. “we caused that.” this time he giggled, pulling me back into his chest. he kissed the top of my head before letting me get back into my seat. “what are we gonna do after our short time together is gone?” i questioned. he bit his lip, his eyes filled with sadness.
“i don’t know. i don’t want to say goodbye again.” he sighed, grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. i wracked my brain trying to find ways we could keep seeing each other. “me either. know what? let’s not think about that for tonight, okay? we’ll figure it out later.” i spoke, squeezing his hand and giving him a soft smile.
he nodded, grabbing his seatbelt and buckling himself. i did the same before he put the car back in drive, making our way back to town. we were only about fifteen minutes away from my house, and ten minutes away from his. we sang along to the christmas songs on the radio, holding one another's hand. “would you like to stay for dinner?” i asked him as we pulled into my driveway. he smiled, unbuckling his seat belt and turning off the car. “i’d love to.” he said, getting out of the car quickly so he could open my door for me. i rolled my eyes at him playfully, leading him to the front door. i swung the door open, hearing soft music playing in the kitchen and laughing from my mother. we walked to where she was, seeing that my parents and luke’s parents were both sitting at the kitchen table, each with a glass of wine in hand,
“well how wonderful it is that you two are here! would you like some wine?” my mother asked, standing up to grab two more glasses. i smiled at her, nodding. she poured the dark maroon liquid into the glasses, handing them to luke and i. we sat down with everyone, getting lost in conversation. once dinner had been done, and we’d all eaten, luke’s parents had gotten in their car and drove down the street to go home. my parents went off to bed, leaving luke and i alone in the living room, sipping on more wine.
we were sat on the floor, leaning back against the couch. my feet rest in his lap, giggling as i started to feel the effects of the alcohol running through my body. “your face is cute.” i said, stroking luke’s cheek. he nuzzled his face into my hand, his skin flushed from the wine.
“you’re drunk.” he giggled, kissing my palm. i smiled lazily, leaning my head against the couch. i stared at his features, taking in his beauty.
“so are you.”
he nodded, a goofy smile on his face. i downed the last bit of my wine, setting the glass on the floor next to me. “time for bed?” i asked him, slowly getting up. he nodded, rubbing his eyes. i grabbed his hand to lift him up, but he lost balance while doing so, the last of his wine spilling onto my white sweater.
he gasped, immediately apologizing. i giggled, waving it off. “doesn’t matter, just gives it character.”
i pulled him to my room, grabbing out a new sweater for myself. i found an old pair of his sweatpants, throwing them to him. he thanked me, sliding his jeans off, and pulling on the gray fabric.
i gripped the hem of my sweater, pulling it over my head. i threw it into the small basket in my room, and unclipped my bra, throwing it where my sweater was. i pulled the new clean clothing over my head, and threw on a pair of leggings.
luke already crawled into my bed, curled up under the blankets. i smiled at the site, crawling in next to him. i wrapped my arms around him, spooning him. he smiled softly, grabbing one of my hands and kissing it. we drifted off to sleep, enjoying the warmth from each others bodies.

He never meant to hurt you. I suppose no one ever means to hurt anyone. It just sort of happens and then they’re left to either pick up the pieces or hide away in shame or God forbid show no remorse at all. He felt guilt. He felt a tremendous amount of guilt actually. That was a good sign, maybe not for you but for him, definitely. He wasn’t a lost cause. He could rectify it or hope to. You’d let him drive you home too. You can’t have completely hated him if you allowed that. You could have called an uber just as easily as you’d asked him to be the one to drive you. You looked on the verge of tears when you asked him, not ideal for him. He hadn’t enjoyed it, not like that.
You don’t sit beside him in the passenger seat like he expects. He glances to the empty seat beside himself as if he were still waiting on you to settle there. You don’t beg him to turn the radio down. You don’t say anything at all. He suspects you might cross your arms over your chest in some form of tantrum or way to signify how badly he’d fucked up and that you were pissed at him because he knew in his head and heart that you were. You can’t even find it in yourself to do that. Your hands are lay flat against your thighs, one on each, so still. You’d given him nothing. You just looked out of the window, feeling as if you were in some kind of movie, some sad film sequence, just watching the world fade away. You’d never looked so dejected before.
He finds it hard to focus on the road. He watches it more than he watches you, but he finds himself flickering over to you so fast his eyes start to hurt. At the next redlight he decided to dig his hand into the glovebox compartment, digging through takeout receipts and old CDs to fetch his glasses. He curses under his breath when he struggles to land on them immediately. He watches the lights, then you, then the lights again while he grabs them, anxiously rushing himself. He shuts the compartment, sliding the lenses over the bridge of his nose, notably on edge. He dared to glance your way again. He could now see your pain with 20/20 vision.
He feels he should say something. He could distract you. He could engage in small talk. You didn’t even have to answer, a glance in his direction would have been a win for him. He’s tapping the steering wheel. It’s as if his entire vocabulary had escaped him. His mouth had gone dry. He finds himself scratching at his chin, his short beard a pleasant feeling under his fingernails. He still darts eyes over to you as if you’d have gone somewhere in the seconds it took him to think.
The headlights of the car behind had given you this glow and upon noticing it he’d let out a deep and painful sigh. He hadn’t ever seen you look as beautiful as you did right then. Which is a shocking realisation for him when he’d always considered you breath-taking. He swears he could crash this car and go out in an eternal blaze, and it would have been worth it because the last thing he saw was you.
He saw you, like this, biting your lip to avoid speaking to him. Brushing your fingertips over your thighs, occasionally tugging your skirt down towards your knees. You with your legs growing cold even under your thick tights that you’d picked because you thought you’d get a chill. He saw you unable to look at him. Fighting internally (or so you thought) to avoid his gaze. You were such a sight to behold. As he neared your side of town, just a mere 10 minutes from your home, he found himself unable to take you there. He was left powerless to his deepest intentions. He diverted your journey.
You don’t think too much of it. There were so many routes he could take. He would take you there, you were sure of it. You didn’t show signs of stress, of anxiety, no more than you already had just being in this position. You just watched the buildings whiz by. The streetlights flickering here and there. Worst of all, the billboards reminding you of just why you’d been upset in the first place. You couldn’t look out of the window much longer.
You had a dumb fight. All fights were dumb but this one especially. You went to his stupid party, at his stupid friend’s house. You couldn’t have known. You still wouldn’t have known, even now, if it hadn’t been for someone else. You feel the tension knotting in your stomach as your mind wanders back to it. You wanted to cry so badly, to be able to feel anything at all without the intensity of his eyes catching you at any second because of course you noticed him. You couldn’t not notice him. He was all you were ever aware of, and you were so god damn hurt because he didn’t have the decency to share the same sentiment with you.
You sigh with frustration. You’ve had enough. “Let me out.” You say it sternly. “What?” He responds as the words are still leaving you. “Let. Me. Out.” He’s puzzled. He’s still driving, far enough away from your house that you wouldn’t dare walk from here, not at this hour. “Are you kidding me? No, I’m not stopping.” He watches the road intently for the first time since you left the driveway of his friend’s house. “Luke, let me out of this fucking car.” Your tone is calm, and your heart is anything but.
He wants to fight you on it. He doesn’t want to lose you. He might lose you if he doesn’t stop. There was also a heavy possibility that he would lose you even if he did. “Then what?” He asks. You look to him in the mirror, your lips are parted, nothing coming out. “No plan? No way of getting home?” He’s trying to gesture with his hands while they remain on the wheel. “Not letting you out then.” He thinks he has you defeated. He’s not even close.
“I’ll call a taxi.” He scoffs. “Yeah? Why didn’t you do that about 20 minutes ago?” He’s shocked he’s managed to argue with you. Just minutes ago, his heart was aching, and he was terrified he’d upset you and now he was arguing. It was fight or flight and you were important enough for him to pick the former. He’d regret it another time, he’s sure. “Because I didn’t think of it then.” You exasperate, flinging your arms out. “Just let me out Luke.” You stare right into his eyes; you have a cold and serious glare. He pulls over begrudgingly, but he doesn’t unlock the car.
You know not to bother with the handle, he’d already thought of that. Considering he was such an airhead on a day to day, he seemed to be carrying himself pretty well tonight. He was just hellbent on destroying your happiness. Maybe he should progress that as a career on top of lying to you. That would go down a real treat.
“Talk to me.” He pleads. It was worth a try. “No.” He rolls his eyes, fingers running along the leather of the steering wheel before returning to the top, gripping it tightly. “Just yell at me already, do whatever you have to.” He slumps back in his seat, head hitting the rest behind it with a thud. It had to hurt. Good, you thought.
“You could have fucking told me.” You surprised yourself but not him. He knew you’d kept tight lipped for too long and now the second you were given real opportunity you were going to come for him with all you had. “You know who told me?” He doesn’t respond. It wasn’t necessarily rhetorical, but you knew he knew and there was no point in adding more fuel to the fire in confirming it. “Jordan. Not you, not Ash, not Cal not even blabbermouth Michael, fucking Jordan!” Your hands slam down against the seat so hard it made your palms sting. He winced as you did it. Even if he didn’t see it. He heard it. He’d kiss your delicate skin better if he wouldn’t get slapped for even trying to.
“I was going to tell you.” He was. He really was, he just didn’t know when, hadn’t found the words. A pathetic excuse, he was well aware. “What? When you were already halfway across the globe? You’re leaving in 2 weeks Luke.” You sounded so wounded, and you recognised it, and you hated it. He couldn’t have felt more stupid if he’d tried. “I just don’t understand.” He dared to look at you in the mirror. You were appeared just as crushed as you sounded and to make matters worse, you were looking right at him. You weren’t glancing into the mirror like a coward. You weren’t like him. You were looking directly at his poorly positioned, lanky body sinking into the leather seating of his car.
“Did you just think I’d see a billboard and be like yeah cool, amazing, so glad you’re touring again, congratulations.” He wants to speak but no words come out. There wasn’t a way to apologise for this, not when he’d fucked up so badly, not when he’d ruined everything. “I would have been happy for you Lu.” His heart was aching in a way he’d never felt before, come close to but never quite endured. The nickname had sent him over the cliff he was afraid he’d been back stepping onto. One more wrong move and he was done for.
“I’m coming back there.” Before you could protest, he was pulling the keys and burying them in his pocket. The best plan for him was none at all. The door was opening and closing, and he was slamming another behind him, sliding into the backseat. You stare ahead of you. Your heartbeat so loud you both heard it. He locked the doors again and you laughed. He’d actually disliked the sound for the first time in his life. “I’m not going anywhere. You made sure of that. I don’t even know where we are.” You run your fingers through your hair. He doesn’t look at you like he wants to. He looks forward. You’re both staring at the seats in front of you. You wished you were in complete darkness; it may make this easier to live through. Unfortunately for the both of you, you were parked conveniently next to a streetlight.
“I couldn’t find the words.” He says, he wanted to be as transparent as he could. “I wanted to find them, I couldn’t. Like every time I tried to tell you, they just got jumbled up like some kind of word vomit or something.” He pulls a disgusted face as he says the word ‘vomit,’ he’d never liked that word. “You’re a lyricist. I find that hard to believe.” You cross your arms over your chest. A weak argument. “You don’t have to be so hard on me.” He’s right, you don’t, and you might feel a shed of remorse for it, but you wouldn’t drop it. “I’ve been beating myself up all night you know.”
You allow yourself to look at him. His stomach twists when your eyes land on him. His body is flooded with a warmth he could only compare to the sun. A blistering but comforting heat that reminded him of where he came from, where he was most at home. “I didn’t actually want to face the fact that I was leaving.” He starts to fiddle with the tear in his jeans. He wasn’t sure where the rip came from, he’d grown out of intentionally ripped jeans long ago, but the threads were tactile and useful to him now, soothing him as he worked through his emotions. Since he had no choice but to do so.
“It’s what you do.” Your voice is so soft, he wants to lean in and let you surround him with it. “But I haven’t done it, not for 2 years.” He laughs nervously. He’s not sure how the conversation morphs into his anxieties for the future but here he was. “Hell, I barely remember how I did it before.” He’s running his fingers through his bleached blonde curls and you’re biting your bottom lip at the thought of replacing them with your own. Hard to stay mad when you lose your focus at the sight of anything he does. “You really are scared.” He would feel relaxed at your compassion returning but he doesn’t know how long it will last. “Terrified more like.” He reaches forward to prod the headrest before him. There’s no reason for it other than impulse and he tended to act on those a lot.
“I could have helped.” He sighs, sinking into his seat, he’d connected those dots already. “I know.” You don’t push it, sitting quietly, maybe even patiently. “I know and that’s why I’m so stupid.” You’d never correct him there. “You’d have supported me no matter what because you’re a good fucking friend and I’m just a coward who doesn’t deserve it.” You roll your eyes as he hits his head repeatedly off the back of his seat. “Cut the pity party.” He gulps. He almost gives into temptation, glancing to the right of him as you command his silence. He settles for leaning his head back instead.
He couldn’t have looked more inviting if he tried. His neck outstretched like that. His adam’s apple prominently bobbing as he took a breath and gulp of air. The way he wet his bottom lip with the nerves he felt. The damn near sheer shirt he coated his top half with. When did he start dressing sluttier than you? You wanted to bite his neck, you wanted to forget all of this and wrap your lips around his jugular and never let go. You’re not even sure what you were fighting for anymore. “Sorry.” Even if you knew it wasn’t meant as his formal apology, you had known that he meant it. He would never not be sorry for this. You were the last person he wanted to hurt.
“I am a good friend.” You say. He would laugh if he could. He doubts he’d ever feel joy again until you forgave him. He was still picking away at his jeans, cursing his chipped nail polish at the same time. “I am happy for you.” You were, somewhere in the pits of your soul you were, somewhere very far and unobtainable at this moment in time but it was there. “I miss you already.” He says in a low whisper and that’s enough to crack your hard exterior just like the rasp in his voice had. “You what?” You hadn’t heard him right. You couldn’t have. His voice was too husky to be understood, you’d bet money on it. “I-“
He turns his body around, knees trying to face you, as much as they could in the cramped space he’d forced himself into. You didn’t look at him. He was starting to take it personally. “Would you just look at me?” Its making it much harder for him to grovel without your eyes giving him a chance. He wants to reach out and touch the hand you left on your thigh, but he thinks better of it, couldn’t step in too soon. “I can’t,” you mutter, you’re avoiding his gaze even more now that he’d asked for it. You were just trying to make sense of it all. You’re acting ridiculous and you’re acutely aware of it but you’re processing. “Can’t or won’t?” Where had he robbed these few braincells from? You didn’t like it; he wasn’t supposed to be this perceptive, that was never his game. “Both.” You grunt.
“Can’t keep doing this.” He says. You’re not sure what exactly he’s referring to, but you feel him burning the words into the side of your face like he’s branding you with a hot iron. “Doing what?” You’re suddenly breathless and this tiny car had felt a whole lot smaller, closing in on you. You had to fan yourself with your hand to satiate the heat. The more you focused the more you noticed how his long legs had barely fit a gap between the two of you, it was only a matter of time before you were crushed together.
“I don’t know- I don’t want to say it.” He bites back the words he so keenly wishes to utter. “You don’t or wont?” You turn his words back on him without so much as a second glance. Your pulse rockets as you do. “Both.” He says, his body is shifting still. He’s moving closer. Not quite beside you but getting there. It wouldn’t be long. He doesn’t want to cross your boundaries; he’s had better ideas than to mess with them, but they were just there. The temptation was overwhelming. He starts to slip back where he was, his knees digging into the back of the driver’s seat thinking better of it. He was a coward, and he didn’t need to look at you to know you thought it too. He’d returned to his original position and your heart ached at the distance.
Even when he was on a different continent, he’d never felt further from you than he did in this moment. What’s worse was that you saw him retreating, not just physically but mentally. He was sat debating whether to leave you not just on tour but for good. When his nails dug into his own thighs, his breathing deepening into exhausted sighs. The wheels were turning with no signs of breaking. He’d gone from suffocatingly close to a million miles away and he hadn’t even moved. It’s just what it felt like when he closed himself off like that. You didn’t like it. He didn’t have to. You were scared he felt he needed to. You were mad, you were so mad, but not even because you of what he did anymore, but because of what he wouldn’t do, what he continued not to do. There wasn’t enough honesty between you. You needed some truth. You may have to force it from him, but it was far less unsettling to picture than the thought of him leaving without the air cleared between you.
So, you did the unthinkable. You clambered onto his lap in a way you never had before; sober or otherwise. Your legs fastened on either side of his thighs. Your head bumps the ceiling briefly, not enough to knock you off track but enough to hurt. You’re well aware of the clumsiness of your actions and the inelegance of jumping someone’s bones. Not to mention the wardrobe malfunctions that ensue. Your skintight skirt flipping up, essentially exposing your underwear in the process. Even hidden under dark tights the risk of him seeing them made a hot flush creep across your stomach.
You had made it now. You sat in his lap, and you made him see you, you begged him to see you and he saw you all right. His mind raced. He didn’t know where to look or what to say. He was going a million miles a minute. The possibilities, he was lost in them, what could have been, the what ifs and even the why on earths. His trousers were already tightening. Just another thing to worry about. If he hadn’t upset you enough before, an inappropriately timed boner might as well do the trick.
You wonder where to put your hands. The internal battle chipping away at you piece by piece. You’re hovering over his lap, too petrified to sit your full weight on top of him even if it pained you not to. If you didn’t clutch some support you’d be aching for days. It was as if he saw a thought bubble appear above your head. He wearily placed his hands on your legs to push you down and make you sit. His eyes were transfixed on his hands. He’d moved them with no communication to the rest of his body. He’d not spent a second thinking about touching you and yet, he had.
He shouldn’t have looked down at his hands. He had the thought now, the regret in his choice of actions, the placement of them. He knew how your skirt had betrayed you, lifting to show him more of you than he’d ever dreamed of. He knew that if he just looked even a millimetre to the side, he’d see the cotton of your underwear concealing you away from him beneath your tights. He felt every bone in his body screaming at him to move, he wasn’t quite sure which direction yelled louder. To look or not to look? He wanted to look. He’d ruined himself.
You took this opportunity to look at him. You analysed his expression while he avoided your gaze. How had you been so stupid? To be blind to him. You watched his every move and waited on his every word with bated breath and yet you just hadn’t seen it. You hadn’t seen how hard he fought with himself every day. How he’d never really looked you in the eyes before because there was such a deep secret locked away inside of them. It was almost like this was your first time seeing him properly. You’d never seen him so clearly in fact. His little freckles dotted around his nose. The glitter shimmering across his eyelids, he shone like some kind of fairy. It wasn’t the worst way to describe him. He was quite ethereal. A bone structure a model would die for. Sweet blue eyes so clear you felt cleansed just being seen by them. His smile lines sinking into the corners of his mouth. There was something kind of magic about the way he looked in the dim light and it drew you in enough to leave not even a little bit of space between you.
You kissed him. You leaned in quickly, too quickly to catch yourself, not sure if you even would have wanted to. It was too late to prevent it now anyway. The wheels were fully in motion and like a freight train, there was no stopping you. Your lips had reached his and you had felt your body surging to life.
He can’t move. He can’t breathe. He can’t- well he doesn’t know what he can’t do, he just can’t do it. You’re kissing him. You’re sat on his lap; his hands are on your thighs and- his hands are on your thighs. He needs to move his hands. He lifts them and he’s thanking God inside his head for giving him the strength to do it even if it pained him to leave the safe space they’d been left to rest in. You’re panicking. He’s not kissing you back, he’s not doing a damn thing. He moved his hands away and you expect them to push you back at any moment, but that moment never arrives. He needed to kiss you back. Your lips felt so nice, so soft, supple, and shit- he needs to kiss you back!
His body is on autopilot, kicking into gear. It was better than nothing. It was way better than nothing. He instinctively leans forward; you’re so scared to fall backwards that your hands are gripping onto his shoulders for dear life. Maybe it’s to secure the kiss, maybe it’s because you need him closer, either way you’re elated, you’re not the only one involved any longer. He’s still leaning, he’s pushing forward, your back is pushed into the seat behind, his hands are floating around to your back and then-. They land. They’re overlapping each other near the base of your spine and tugging you inwards away from the seat. He’s pulling you in close, into his atmosphere. His car was becoming suffocatingly tiny, and you hadn’t even minded it anymore because you weren’t trapped alone, you were trapped with him, him, him. The air was thick with fear and lust, but it was invigorating. It smelt like him. It felt like him. Fuck it was him, all him.
“Oh God Luke why haven’t we kissed before?” You’re gasping for a breath between kisses, and you can’t help yourself. You take the words right out of his mouth. You can’t stay away. You kiss him so much he can’t get a word in. It was almost as if you’d only just discovered it. You’d experienced the pleasure of kissing for the very first time and you needed all the practice you could get before it’s taken away from you again. He’s just as invested as you are. Your lips are so sweet he wants the taste imbedded into his brain and he suspects it would be from here on out. Your scent, your taste, he’s not the best at describing things but you remind him of the air after rain. Fresh and earthy. Floral and saccharine, a conforming aroma he wanted to bottle and keep to himself forever.
He’s not breathing anymore. He’s not taken a single breath out of fear the oxygen would somehow wake him from this dream he had to be having. But you’re pulling away because he hasn’t said anything and it’s starting to dawn on you just what you’d done. You think you’re going crazy. He kissed you back, sure, but that didn’t mean anything, he took his time, it wasn’t instant. It wasn’t confirmation. It didn’t mean he meant to. He just did what anyone would do, act on impulse. You think you’re shaking with fear. You meet his eyes with nothing but anxiety in your heart. You’d kissed him like you meant it. Did he?
His glasses are so foggy you can’t even see his eyes anymore. It was undecided if that was an advantage or not. On the one hand you wouldn’t see the shock or horror. On the other, you couldn’t see if he felt the opposite. If he looked at you like you were the piece he’d been missing all these years. You don’t even know if he’s looking at you or not. He’s facing you but is he seeing you?
His hands slip from around you and you hold back the whimper of disappointment. You needed to keep your expectations to a minimum. His hands tug his glasses away from his face before he looks down, attempting to clean them with the bottom of his shirt. You bite your lip so hard you fear it may burst at the slight exposure of his happy trail beneath. Sure, you could faintly see it through the mesh but seeing it bare was something that had you fighting for your life and begging your legs not to squeeze together. You heard nothing but the pounding of hearts and the occasional car whizzing by on the quiet road as you processed the previous events.
“Lu.” His eyes lift to meet yours and they’re filled with a kindness that is so compelling you might just make it out of here alive. He notices that your pupils are dilated to an extent that he could have mistaken them for black. He’d never seen you like that before. Your cheeks, they’re so round, darkened with a blush. Your lips, so beautifully shaped, swollen from his own. Your cupid’s bow so prominent and alluring, you were so naturally pretty, he’d always known it but seeing it this close, breath-taking. He can’t believe he’s never been this close to you before. That was a crying shame. A monumental mistake on his part. Even if he wouldn’t have been able to control himself. He would certainly have remembered it though, memorised every feature of your face like the lyrics to a song he must sing and be happy to for the rest of his days on this earth with you.
He sets his glasses in your lap and your stomach flutters as you feel the weight of them. They weren’t heavy in the slightest but the sensation, the reminder of just where you were situated. You were still in his lap, still in his orbit. It was dizzying. “You look really pretty.” You let slip, one glance into his eyes and your mouth ran without thought. His lips turn up in one corner. “You think I’m pretty?” He’s laughing at it but it’s the sweetest thing he’d ever heard. Deep down, it’s probably the nicest compliment you could have given him. You thought he was pretty and even better than that, you liked that he was pretty. “With glasses,” you gesture to your lap. “Even prettier.” It takes an incredible strength not to let it be known that he loved hearing you say that.
You try something different. You have only one chance at this. You owed it to yourself to explore the unanswered questions you’d been stacking up in your brain for the entirety of your friendship. One’s you hadn’t dared to speak into existence and thought better of verbalising even now. Instead, you answer with a touch. You place your fingers into the curls at the nape of his neck and while you fumble to grip them in a light tug, your nails graze his scalp. He whimpers beneath you elegantly before snapping his mouth shut, a flush of red blotting his cheeks as a result. Fuck. He’d always had the prettiest voice, but you weren’t even remotely aware that it was melodical even in this situation. “Did you just-“he wants to hide, he wants his hands to cover his face and he goes to fulfil that want, but you stop him.
He's looking at you and he hasn’t felt this vulnerable in a long time. You didn’t have many secrets. You knew almost everything about each other but this. Knowing his kiss, knowing his sounds. This was an unexplored territory. Continuing forward at this trajectory could have the most fatal consequences for the two of you and your ongoing relations. You’re so painfully aware of that but you still tug his hair back hard in efforts to hear him again. “Fuck.” He gasps, his pink lips slotting open not even trying to save himself the embarrassment, he was already exposed, may as well accept it.
You had to kiss him again, had to kiss him and pull his hair and feel his little bitch boy whimpers on your lips or you may die. You throw yourself at him with nothing more to lose. His hands wrap around you so tightly you knew he’d struggle to let you go and there wasn’t a chance in hell that you’d ever allow him to if he tried. You tug on his blonde curls, and you kiss him and he’s grunting into your mouth like a desperate slut. His tongue slides inside your mouth, granting itself permission. You weren’t the only one wanting to take charge and the idea of fighting for it turned you on more than it should have. His one hand leaves your waist to cup your cheek while he pushes his face right into yours. His precious little nose digging into your cheek as his mouth is enjoying you, savouring you.
‘You’ by definition as declared by Luke Hemmings.
pronoun
1. Used to refer to the person or people that the speaker is addressing.
"Are you listening?"
2. Used to refer to any person in general.
"After a while, you get used to it"
3. Used as a treat for him to devour, tasting better than any gourmet, expensive delicacy he’d ever had the pleasure of trying.
"He loves you; he loves your taste; he loves you"
Your kiss was replaying in his mind before it even ended. It was hung in a museum full of his greatest achievements. He’d be visiting the archive on numerous occasions just to relive this feeling, whether you developed from here or not didn’t even matter anymore he was in it 100% for as long as it lasts. “Luke, I think I love-“He stops dead in his tracks as your words fill the silence. His eyes are not nearly as panicked as they should have been, unlike yours. “I love kissing you,” you finish, your breath shaky as you catch yourself before confessing to something far too soon, even if you’d felt it with every fibre of your being since you met him.
“Yeah?” He’s so drunk on your lips he can’t possibly think straight let alone filter his words to have more caution in them. “Love kissing me or love me?” In the short pause he’s watching you expectantly. It’s not for you to confess your love. It’s not even for you to reject him. It’s just to hear your voice and know he’s not alone like he fears he might be. “Both.” You breathe out. The relief washed over you both like a tidal wave.
You can’t keep away any longer. You’d be damned if you let there be any more silence without it being a result of locking lips. “Have to have you.” He groans.” Your hands are sinking down between you. Your brain is foggy. There’s an unmistakably lusty cloud over your head. You felt as if you’d been hit by cupid’s arrow, infatuated to such an intensity that you were unable to process any information that wasn’t related to your love for the man beneath you. Whatever sick love spell it was, you were grateful for it. It had given you the courage to act on your true feelings and there was no way you were turning back now unless he asked it of you, and he swears he would never dream of such an outcome.
He wants to cry when your fingers brush his stomach. His tummy flips at the coolness of your fingertips delicately toying with the material resting above it. You lift it slowly, your hands deliberately feeling along his torso as the shirt rode higher. He wants to tear it off, he’d even burn it just to prove how little he needed it and how much he needed you instead. You bite on your lower lip at his eagerness to remove it. “Take it off.” You say. He’s way ahead of you. In a flash he’s throwing it to the front of the car. A problem for him to deal with at a later date.
Luke exposed in this way wasn’t something new to you. You’d seen him shirtless. You’d touched him shirtless. The only benefits of living in a ridiculously sunny state were the opportunities to lounge by the beach or the pool. To witness the tightened torso of your best friend with a pair of sunglasses shielding him from knowing just how much you were checking him out. You wondered if he’d ever done the same to you, but by the way he’s staring at your chest, it’s like he’s never seen it before.
Luke had wanted to. He’d thought about it so often, mostly at night alone in his room, but still he’d thought long and hard about the way your body looked in very little clothing. He remained as respectful as he could in your presence. He didn’t let his eyes wander too far from what’s socially acceptable between friends. But he had thought about this moment for what felt like an eternity. He could never have imagined the location or the dim light painting this portrait of your silhouette, but he wouldn’t change it for the world.
He's getting braver. His hands are caressing your hips, pushing upwards to rub along your sides before returning back. “Luke, please.” He’s ignoring your need. He’s playing with you how he wants to when he wants to. He’s repeating his movements at a snail’s pace. You couldn’t rush him, not after making him wait for so long, he deserved to take his time. You’re not happy about it. You’re ready to rock over his lap and take what you need but he catches your hips. “No.” He says confidently, sternly too. Your eyes almost bulge out of your skull, a tantrum ready to slip from your tongue. “Wait for it.” As if you hadn’t been waiting for it every single day of your life. Fucking hell, he’s not even looking at you. It’s like you’re not even there anymore. His eyes are fixated on your chest and somehow that had increased the wetness between your legs more than you thought it would. If it were Luke objectifying you, you would make an exception. You just sank back onto his lap, running your fingers through his hair while he explored you, doing as you were told and praying he’d end your torture if you did. He never thought he’d see the day, you are being obedient.
It's worked out better than you’d imagined. His teasing touches, they’re working you up just enough to leave you wanting more. You worry your enjoyment can be felt through the fabric of your clothing. The more he touches, the more he gets to know you. He feels it, he just doesn’t show it. Somehow that made it even hotter for you. You were embarrassingly speechless for him, and he pretended he hadn’t caused it, couldn’t possibly have known. He wasn’t completely clueless. He wasn’t all shy. He knew what he was doing. There was such a power in shutting the pretty mouth of his best friend with simple caresses. “You seemed to have a lot to say before.” He’s now fondling your breasts, pinching hard over the fabric of your blouse, not even daring to touch beneath but you didn’t even need him to. The gasp that leaves your lips makes his cock twitch and you felt it. “Where’s all that energy gone?” He doesn’t even need to smirk; you hear it in his tone, even if you were deaf, you think you’d hear it.
This time he looks at you. He watches your expressions patiently with a glimmer of enjoyment as he pinches hard, trapping your nipple between his thumb and forefinger. You gasp upon the sharpness of his touch. “Luke.” He had to smile, had to let it show how unbelievably thrilled he was to be doing this to you, to hear you sighing his name because it was real, and he was living out his fantasies. “Kiss me.” He says. You’re surprised he says it. You thought he’d have just taken it by now since you were clearly putty in his hands but instead, he’d instructed you and you had to do it and you were so eager.
You lean in to close the gap and he’s groping over your chest harder as you inch in. Your lips are parted, his tongue slipping in. The moan that escapes you sends his hips bucking upwards into you. There was some kind of a heaven between your thighs, he’s sure of it because the way it felt to just brush against your clothed cunt was already more than he could take. Every ounce of you was blissful to touch. “Oh my God.” You gasped. “No, that’s not my name.” He grumbles into your mouth. You want to roll your eyes with annoyance but they’re already rolling for a different reason. “When you touch me like that, what’s the fucking difference?” An excellent point, you think. He had to be some kind of deity.
He catches your bottom lip between his teeth, and you whimper. The bite is sharp, and it hurts but your lack of release is starting to hurt more. The build-up was fun, but not nearly enough. You had to take your shirt off, move this further. You start to unbutton it. You slip it down over your shoulders and he doesn’t help, no he just watches you. His blue eyes so dark like an ocean you could dive into. You feel a chill as your bra drops from your chest. You were equally exposed now. It suddenly felt so much more real. Seated in the backseat of his car, 2 weeks before he leaves for a tour you didn’t even know about 2 hours ago. Its sinking in, just how much this would hurt you from here on out.
“We can stop right now.” He pushes his forehead against yours. His lips hover above your own. Hot breath fanning over them. It’s not as soothing as it should have been. You’re breathing is more erratic now. His proximity, you need his lips, need his touch, no hesitation, no-. No. You need a pause. You feel as if you could cry, maybe you were crying. Things were catching up to you, hard. “It won’t be easy.” He tries to laugh. “But we can stop.” He pecks your lip. Letting his words sink in. “I don’t want to stop Luke.” He could smile, but it didn’t seem right to, not yet, not while your mind is still restless. “Everything changes from here on, doesn’t it?” Now he’s smiling at you; his hand reaches up to cup your cheek lifting your face in his hands. “What’s to change?”
You weren’t sure exactly what he meant; somehow you felt comforted by it anyway. You silently urged him to continue. “I’ve always been in love with you.” He rubbed his thumb softly over your jaw, your face started to feel heavy in his hands as you melted into his touch, at his words. His heart wasn’t on his sleeve, no, it was being handed to you, given with a stroke to your jaw, a glimmer in his eye and a softness of words on his tongue. “The only change is that you know it.” He’s grinning as he reveals his secret, finally able to clue you in on his little plans. You could have told him then and there, just how relieved you were to feel the same, you felt it could wait. As sweet as it was, you need something less precious, he had to finish what he started or so help him you’d vanquish him.
“Take my clothes off.” He’s way ahead of you once again. He lifts your skirt, and you feel the need to correct him, tell him it needs to come off the other way around, he’s already fiddling with your tights. He’d grabbed them, the material stretching over his hands and before you could raise a brow in suspicion at the oddness, he’s tearing them, splitting the crotch for access. You were lost for words, and he was the same. The only difference was that he was silently praising himself for his strength no to look sooner. Where he thought he’d find cotton, instead he found lace. You were wearing soaking wet, lace panties. “You’re fucking kidding me.” He can’t supress his moan at all. You think you may be engulfed in flames, the only explanation for the fire burning you up inside. He. Tore. Your. Clothes. Off. LITERALLY. How can anyone ever compete?
Butterflies are swarming in your stomach as his fingers don’t hesitate to rub over your core. You sigh at his touch, it’s not even near your clit but you feel like you might cum. “Have I always got you this wet?” He’s surprised. He’s impressed and proud too but mostly surprised. You could laugh at his outburst, if it wouldn’t reveal just how ridiculously on point he was. “More often than I’d like to acknowledge right now.” He decides he’ll put a pin in it for another occasion because he’s absolutely certain now, there will be more occasions.
Your fingers find his hair, tugging on his curls in hopes to bring him back to the task at hand, you. “Think you can hurry this up?” You’re trying to stay cool, but you’re anything but. You don’t want to beg for it, it felt so beneath you before this moment, but he needed to pick up the pace. His fingers rub over the wet material clinging to your cunt. “Would usually have to work for it.” He’s smiling against your lips uncontrollably. “Guess I don’t need to.” You want to wipe the smug look off his face. He’s looking at your lips right before crashing his own against them, distracting you from his hands slipping away beneath you.
He’s freeing himself from his jeans and you so desperately need to look but you can’t. You can’t pull away. You just kiss and kiss and he just- oh God, he’s dragging your hips over him. He’s rocking up into you, still separated by the restrictions of your underwear but you feel him. You know you asked for more, but this was really happening like right now. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Your hips start moving with the guidance of his hands. “Do something for me.” He breathes, tone too calm for your liking. His lips are trailing from yours, down to the column of your throat. “Anything.” You mean it, you truly mean it, he owns every piece of your soul. “Put me in.” You’re done for.
There’s no hesitation. You reach between you, hands blindly chasing after him. When you feel the hot, weight of him barely fitting in your hand, you want to whine. He’s so hard, burning up too. He’s hot to touch and it’s so unbearably arousing. He twitches at your slightest touch, and you’d be proud if you weren’t so needy. You work your hand over him, just gathering the beads of liquid already leaking from the tip to drag it back over him. He’s pushed his face right into your neck, kissing and nipping, his beard scratching your flesh as you bring him to you. It’s so nice to feel him humming along your throat. You are ruining him just as much as he did you.
Your breath hitches as you slide your underwear to the side. Your heart hammers as his tip brushes your entrance. Luke’s cock throbs as its sinking inside you. It’s barely inside and you feel so snug around him. He bites down hard on your neck as you take more but not nearly enough. You can’t think of anything but the fullness. You wonder if he’d fit inside you fully, scared he might not be able to go further, that you couldn’t possibly cater to his size but then he wiggles his hips, careful not to hurt you but he’s still forcing himself deeper inside.
You gasp out as you stretch for him, gripping the leather of the seat behind him. “So, fucking tight.” You were so wet he felt you dripping onto his thighs and yet you squeezed him so tight it was like you weren’t ready at all. “Is it too much?” It was so hard to speak when you held him like that, but something wasn’t right. He needed you to feel good. It wasn’t worth it otherwise, meant too much to fuck it up like this.
You’re nodding your head in response, entirely against your will. You’d failed him. You finally get to take it to the next level, and you can’t even take him. You were mortified. You were disappointed. You were devastated. You’re ready to give up, accept this as the mistake it must be, he doesn’t share the same sentiment. “Gonna try something different, okay?” He’s bringing your eyes to meet his. You’re so shocked. If it were anyone else, you’d have been discarded like dirty laundry. You’d be no fit for use. But Luke? Luke wasn’t giving up on you. He’d try a thousand times to get it right if that’s what it took to please you, to give himself to you the best way he could. You had never felt so loved in your life.
His cock can’t help but twitch when he sees your panic. “Trust me?” You nod profusely, it wasn’t necessary, but you were so close to losing it you couldn’t be stopped. “Think you can lie down for me?” You nod again. It takes all of your combined energy to pull away from each other. It feels like you’d lost a piece of yourself when you moved away. You’d collided and now been torn apart prematurely and the part of you that finally felt whole, was gone again.
You slipped off his lap, seating yourself back where you’d started. Luke’s shuffling around, removing his jeans completely before moving over, pulling your legs apart for him to slip between. You curse yourself once more for missing out on witnessing him naked for you, but your mind was racing with other information. He hadn’t warned you before his cock pushed past the threshold of your entrance. Instead, he eases himself in. Your cunt instinctively squeezing him at the intrusion.
“Oh, fuck.” He cried when he slid inside, his full length splitting you open. This angle was better, he’d fit, he’d not struggled and yet, you’d never felt so full in your life. He watches your expression, your eyes sealed shut, lips parted, cheeks burning. He watches you until you show any signs of regret or pleasure. He would stop immediately if you needed it. You just whimpered and moaned, and it was filth to his ears. His cock was so painfully hard he couldn’t hold back any longer. He did that to you; he didn’t even have to move either. He’d got you looking fucked out, crying for him and he’d barely started.
“Can I move?” He’s trying to keep his tone calm but he’s breathless. “Please baby, I gotta move.” His thighs are shaking. He’s gripping the seats like his life depended on it and it probably did. Your heart is warmed at the fact he’d asked. It shouldn’t feel anything of the sort with him so fucking deep inside you, ready to fuck you into oblivion but you did, he was so perfect. You nod your head, leaning up to capture his lips in a kiss. “Fuck me.” Please, please, please, you thought. “Give it to me.” He kisses you back, retracting his hips simultaneously before dipping back in. “So, fucking beautiful.” He mutters. “Fucking your best friend.” It felt so dirty hearing it from him like this. But that is exactly what you were doing. Your hands are reaching up around his waist, clawing into his back when he ruts deeper, the car starting to rock with each movement of his hips. “So deep in you.” You choke after a particularly harsh thrust. “So good.” You’re stuttering it. Hearing your broken panting is nearly enough to send him over the edge.
He didn’t rock his hips quickly this time, not wanting to overdo it, to break you so soon. Instead, he slows himself. He’s grinding his hips down into you with a precision you’d never known before. “All you can say?” He teased. “You’re lucky you feel so good.” You warn him. “If I could think straight, you’d be done for.” He nips at your shoulder before layering it with kisses. “Is that so?” You whimper when his body lowers over yours. His body is no longer held up above put pressed into you. The new position providing more stimulation than the last. The closeness had his pelvis rocking into your clit. The extra stimulation leaving your cunt clenching and tingling, bursting with pleasure.
“Fuck, feel you tightening.” He’s starting to speak but quickly losing his train of thought at your body’s natural response to him. He’s wincing like it hurts him when you squeeze. In reality he’s just holding onto his load by a thread, ready to bust at the seams. He didn’t think he’d be able to pull out if he did. You probably should have thought of that sooner. He couldn’t exactly ask now. He should though. “Need it.” Your sweet whining brings him back. “What?” He’s losing himself in your eyes. Dark, lust filled and reading him like a book. “Need you to cum inside.” He’s gripping the seats so tight the material is about to tear. Just when he’d worried he’d made a fatal error you swoop in and save him. You wanted him inside. He didn’t have to move, he wanted so badly to stay, and you let him as if you knew. You knew how fucking feral he’d go hearing it dripping from your lips like that, a sultry dream. He needed this, needs to cum, needs you to feel it, everything he’s got.
He picked up his pace, abandoning his previous rhythm. He was going to pound into you so hard you’d be begging him to be the only man in your life for eternity. He would give it to so good you never had to wonder where your loyalties may lie. You were going to be his and no one else’s if it killed him. No one could ever fuck you like he could. “Fuck, tell me you’re mine.” You feel startled by the request. Not because it’s out of the ordinary but because you thought he’d have to be mad not to know it already. Not when the request alone had you cumming around him the moment the words touched your ears. You felt it so hard, it was a wonder you hadn’t blacked out. Your walls a tightening mess, thighs wrapped around Luke’s waist so tight you couldn’t feel the shake in them, stabilised by his frame. Oh, you felt it in your core though. Holy shit, you’d not cum so hard for so long. He hadn’t even realised you’d done it at all. It felt so unreal that you’d even doubted it yourself. Finishing from a sentence, from fucking without the aid of touching yourself, simply unheard of. Maybe you really were his.
“I’m yours, all yours.” It had never been truer. His eyes close as he lets the words float around in his brain over and over. “Yeah? All mine? Belong to me?” You don’t think you could ever profess it enough. You instead move your hands, wrapping them around his neck, bringing his chest down into yours. You lift your head from the seat, your lips coming to his ear as he slows himself, meeting you halfway. You’re whispers send him right over the edge, tumbling towards his demise. He’s grunting, spilling inside you, hips slowly grinding before coming to a halt. He’s muttering sweet sentiments. “You’re so pretty. So good, fuck baby.” His head is spinning. He’s so blissed out he felt like he wasn’t even with you, he was on a whole other plain. You’d taken him to heaven, you’d actually killed him. What a pleasure it was to be killed by you. He was utterly destroyed.
He’s trying to hold himself up, arms on either side of your head. He’s not looking at you, more your bodies still entangled. He looked so conflicted. You try not to imagine the worst. He can’t regret you already. You’d only just ended. Usually, it took some time. He at least should drop you home before that kind of clarity kicks in. Your heart picks up speed again. A panic starting to drip a sweat over your brow. You don’t want this to end like that. “Stop that.” He places a singular kiss to the tip of your nose and the thoughts are erased. “I can practically hear your thoughts” He kisses you again so nonchalantly. “I’m just thinking about moving.” You try not to sigh so loud with relief, but you fail miserably and he’s laughing because it’s so effortlessly you. “Probably should have planned that better.” He’s scolding himself and his tone is light and airy, and you don’t feel so scared anymore. He was right before when he said nothing would change. The only difference was the physicality.
“Why couldn’t you be shorter? We could have lay here for a while.” He’s glad to hear your laughter returning even if it is at his expense. “In my defence, I’ve never done it in a car before, I’m sure there’s a way of doin it, I just don’t know it.” Your eyes widen. “Why are you looking at me like that?” He’s furrowing his brows above you. “I thought this was exactly the location 2018 Luke would be going for.” He gasps in offence. “Sorry to disappoint, it’s all beds for me.” You don’t believe him for a second. He’d had some messy eras. You reckon he just forgot them or tried his hardest to.
“Why have you?” You smirk. “Might have.” There’s that gasp again before a moment of confusion. “Wait, you don’t have a car.” He needs to investigate further. “Correct.” He’s thinking. “Matt didn’t have a car either.” Of course, only he would mention your only ex immediately after your first time together. Very on brand for him. “Did you fuck in my car?” You struggle to contain your laughter. “No! What the fuck?” You shove him. “Thank God, that would have been awkward.” You snort. “More awkward than this sorry excuse for pillow talk?” He pecks your nose for the last time before beaming an infectious smile down at you.
“Not to ruin the moment or anything but uh, will you drive me home now?” He’s suddenly reminded of the purpose of this entire event. He was apologising and giving you a lift. “That’s why we fucked then, just wanted that trip.” You nod along with him. “Mmhmm, didn’t bring my purse, gotta pay my way somehow.” He rolls his eyes. He’s amazed by you. You manage to make his heart pound and dick throb all from making jokes with him still buried inside you. “You fuck all your uber drivers?” You shrug the best you can beneath him. “Only the hot ones.”
It takes you both a little time to dress yourselves. The moment he pulls out you’re sighing and missing the feeling. He’s just as devastated to leave you empty, the sight of his finish leaking from you certainly made up for the fact though. You don’t miss your opportunity to check him out this time. His shoulders are so broad and so freckled. You’d never really noticed that before, always assumed he was pasty beneath those clothes. You were pleasantly surprised. He was a work of art in every manner of the word. “You’re so pretty, you know that?” He’s knelt in front of you stark naked and yet it’s your words that bring him to blushing. “You might have mentioned it.”
Once he’s dressed his bottom half, he moved to help you. He’d gathered as many items of clothing as he could, your shirt and your vest, your bra was certainly gone forever. You sit up straight, bottom half not moving for the risk of making a larger mess than you already had. You were thankful the seats were leather. You both ignore the elephant in the room, well vehicle, for as long as possible before eventually addressing it, looking to the pool of his cum on the seat. “How bout we get these off?” He tugs your shredded tights. “Can use them as a, um, temporary fix.” He cringed as he said it. It was a very sensible idea despite the uncomfortable subject. You work to remove them, cleaning the best you can. “Think you’ll sit in the front seat this time?” You ponder it. “I don’t know about that one.”
You find yourself in the passenger seat just minutes after he asked. Which surprises neither one of you. He’s sat shirtless beside you, even though he’d located his shirt. His glasses are once sitting pretty on the bridge of his nose. You can’t help but admire the marks you’d gifted him. You welcomed the eye candy with open arms. His hand reaches to rest on your bare thigh every now and then. Each touch a bolt of lightning to your senses. You were almost distracted enough not to notice he’d made another diversion. “Thought you were taking me home.” You stare at him like he’s crazy, maybe it was you who was the crazy one, too fucked out to see straight. You wouldn’t put it past yourself. “I am.” He didn’t seem phased by your inquiry. “This isn’t the route to my house babe.” You drop the babe in for sass, but he quite likes the sound of it anyway. “No, I said I’d drive you home.” He turns to smile at your puzzled expression, lips ready to part with an argument before he cuts you right off. “Never said I meant your home.”

Tattoos were a big piece of your life, loving to get important things inked onto you so that you could remember it forever.
The question of “you know that’s permanent, right?” or “what if you stop liking them or that thing and then it’s stuck on you forever?” never really bothered you, because you knew that if something was a big enough deal for you to get a tattoo of it, that you could always look back on it and remember just how much it meant to you at the time, fond memories would fill your mind.
So, if there was something that meant enough to you, you would get it tattooed. You’d gotten music artists, movie characters, flowers, things related to concerts, and more. There was next to nothing that you wouldn’t get if you had a special enough connection to it, and that’s what led you to your current tattoo appointment, the one you were getting ready for now. Your boyfriend was part of a band, and you had been with him for multiple years. You’d been a fan before even getting lucky enough to meet him, and then to end up dating him was a dream come true for you. You’d always wanted their original band logo tattooed, and now that you were dating their lead singer, it felt like the perfect time to get it done.
So you had booked the appointment, told Luke you had the appointment, but conveniently kept what exactly you were getting a secret, dodging the question every time he asked. He had eventually dropped the subject, realizing that he wasn’t going to get it out of you, and accepting the fact that he was just going to have to wait and find out what it was when you finally had it done. You had told him he wasn’t allowed to go to the appointment with you, not wanting it to be spoiled by him peeking over your’s or the artist’s shoulder, and he had pouted about it before finally giving in and agreeing to stay home.
The appointment wasn’t until around four in the afternoon, leaving you with a lot of time, and giving Luke a lot more time to try and figure out the design without making it obvious. However, he wasn’t very good at that, and you shut him down every single time until he fake-pouted and sulked on the couch for twenty minutes. He was lucky you loved him so much or his dramatics would be entirely ignored. You laughed for a few seconds before going to sit next to him, moving until his arm was around your shoulders, kissing away the obviously false pout. He broke into a high pitched laugh, turning on some random show to pass time before you two ordered delivery for lunch. Neither of you wanted to get up and make anything.
As two in the afternoon rolled around, Luke had finally given up on begging you to tell him what it was, pretending that he didn’t care instead. He was the most dramatic partner you’d ever had, but it was all lighthearted and there was no cruelty behind it. He was truly fine with not knowing, he just loved to tease and see if you would break and tell him early. However, you stood strong and kept your secrets close to your chest. You were excited to see his reaction once it was done, and you know it would be much better and much more worth it if you waited until after.
Just an hour later, you got something else to eat and drink, and were on the way to the shop. Michael had recommended it to you when you told him you were looking to get a new tattoo, but it was quite far away compared to some of the other shops. But, you trusted Michael’s judgment, and booked the appointment with the same artist that had done Michael’s bands and symbol on his right forearm. When you eventually got there, you were just a few minutes early, which was perfect so that you could go over what you wanted, make sure you had the placement you wanted, and get everything absolutely perfect and sanitized before you started the actual tattoo process.
You decided you wanted it placed on your wrist, on just the outside edge of it. It wasn’t thick lines, thin ones that wouldn’t take very long to get done. It however did take a bit of time to get the stencil placed perfectly, because of where it was, it was kind of awkward to do. However, your artist was patient, and didn’t complain about adjusting it so many times. Obviously, you’re paying for their work, which would be permanently on your skin, so you shouldn’t have to deal with an artist being rude about it, but it was still nice that they were so patient. A lot of artists in the industry weren’t as kind, so you understood why Michael considered this shop and artist worth the drive. You hoped that you could say the same by the end of your trip here, and you were sure youd be able to.
The initial sting of the tattoo artist beginning their work sent you a few waves of shock, having been quite distracted on your phone, glancing at Luke’s texts asking how it was going. Getting used to the feeling, having gotten quite a few tattoos before, you sent a few replies before setting your phone down to watch the satisfying appearance of black ink dotting your skin. Only a line or two was done before Luke texted back, you instantly picking it up to see his message asking for a photo of the progress with that begging emoji that only he could send without it being cringy. You fought the urge to laugh and jostle your arm, texting back a “no, nice try, give it up.” Getting a tattoo wasn’t your favorite feeling in the world, it was needles sinking into your skin, of course, but it wasn’t as terrible as it could’ve been, especially with the small design only calling for a singular needle, instead of like Michael’s bands, being a thirty two point.
Halfway through the design, your artist paused to check in on you. It was a tiny design compared to some, but she still took the time to make sure that you weren’t more affected than usual or needed anything. You took a small water break, not a long one, just enough to move your body a bit so your arms or legs didn’t fall asleep. The rest of the design went by in a flash, and you were ecstatic to get to see it. She took her time, gently cleaning it off, making sure that none of the soap or ink that wasn’t supposed to be there stayed on your skin, examining carefully to check that everything looked right and there were no immediate red flags, before letting you see it in the mirror. You loved it, and immediately told her so. The smile on her face as she was also proud of her work was worth everything. You held as still as possible, partially out of anxiety, as she wrapped it.
You couldn’t wait to see Luke’s reaction, but still patiently sat through the aftercare rules that you’d heard time and time again, making sure to thank the artist profusely before paying, and leaving a generous tip before you left the shop. You would definitely be coming back to this shop, it was absolutely worth the drive, and the artist you had worked with was one of the best you had ever gone to. You texted Michael informing him so, and he replied with nothing less than an “I told you so.” His ego was truly something to be studied in a lab one day. You headed home, knowing that when you got there you’d be unable to avoid Luke and would have to show him immediately, but you still attempted to stall him for as long as you could. It didn’t work, of course. He immediately demanded to see it, and if it had been lower on your wrist, he probably would’ve grabbed it in excitement, but he didn’t, knowing the area was probably still very sensitive.
You laughed, knowing you couldn’t stall him any longer. With traffic, and since you left the shop, it had been closer to an hour and a half since you got it wrapped, so you removed it, very, very, carefully, before angling your wrist so that he could see it. You wished that you had a third hand to record his reaction, or that you had thought about recording it, because his face was absolutely priceless. There were not many things that made him speechless, but he was fish mouthing, seemingly unable to find anything coherent to say, and you couldn’t help but laugh at the stunned expression on his face. You stopped your laughter when you saw tears building on his lash line, ever the emotional one.
“Lu, are you crying?”
Your tone was lighthearted, no anger or meanness behind it, and he smiled and tried to wipe away any evidence of it.
“I, we, mean that much to you?”
Avoiding the area that had just been tattooed, you immediately wrapped him in a hug.
“You knew I was a fan before you decided you wanted me as a partner, of course you do! Besides, now we match!”
It was his turn to laugh, hugging you back as he stared at the tally on the outside of his own wrist.
“No wonder you didn’t let me see it beforehand.”
“That would have ruined the surprise. Don’t you agree that it was better to wait?”
“Fine, but if I’d known I might not have reacted like this!”
You still hadn’t let go of him, enjoying the hug.
“I have no idea why you think that’s better, the whole purpose of waiting was to see this reaction!” Luke spent the next few days absolutely obsessed with the tattoo, always managing to somehow have his matching one pushed up against yours. You two now had matching tattoos, if in slightly different styles, he was certain you weren’t going anywhere now.

The day was getting to him and they’d practically just started. Doing promos all day is something they all got used to when they first started, but it has become repetitive and unhealthy after years of being in the spotlight.
It’s not like Luke isn’t grateful for the opportunity he has of making music with his best friends, he loves what he does and why he’s doing it. But he has to admit priorities have changed for him lately, and being away from home for too long was making him angsty.
“Dude, cheer up!” Ashton would say, giving him a big smile and patting him on the shoulder as they waited for the next interviewer.
Luke would give him a half-hearted, tired smile that mimicked his feelings on the inside. He would see how Michael, Ash, and Calum would joke with each other a little bit, already getting in the mood for another seven minutes of answering questions - although everyone knew Ashton would be speaking the most again, thank you very much. And for a moment it was nice to see them slip from the personas they present in front of the camera and just let them be.
He also took this moment to check his phone and take it out from “do not disturb” when a text message showed up. After reading it his smile was for real this time.
“Is it Y/N?” Michael asked, noticing the grin on Luke’s face.
“Yeah, she says hi”
Quickly, Luke texted you back, noticing the interviewer was already making their way to them. Still, he couldn’t shake the smile off of his face.
* A few years ago.
The party was a success - or a mess if you’re the one cleaning afterward, which is pretty much what Luke promised to do if Ashton threw a party that weekend. This time it took more than ten minutes to convince the eldest of 5sos to throw a party, which is more than anyone would’ve expected coming from him.
“Luke, I already hosted a party three days ago” Ashton sighed while doing the dishes, giving his back to the youngest of the band.
“But Aaaash,” Luke pouted even though Ashton couldn’t see him “It’s the weekend!”
“Don’t you think you like partying too much?”
“Funny you’re saying it,” Luke rolled his eyes, but when he noticed Ashton stare once he turned back, he knew he was serious “C’mon, dude”
“Luke, you’re deflecting” Ashton crossed his arms in front of his chest “Don’t think we don’t notice how you use parties as an excuse to avoid the elephant in the room”
“I’m fine,” He scoffed, and the eldest raised an eyebrow at him.
“Oh? So you’re ready to tell me what happened the day you showed up at my house with your dog and a U-Haul filled with your things?” Ashton sighed again when noticing Luke’s eyes deflecting his gaze “Look, you know I love having you here, but it’s not fun to see you hurting, Luke. Whatever happened with her… you know we’ll support you, right?”
And Luke knew they would. Fuck, Luke loves his friends because of it, they will never leave him behind if the ship was sinking. But the ship was already at the bottom of the ocean and they were still looking for the remains of his broken heart, not knowing there was nothing left to save. Not even himself.
“Luke…”
“Fine, if you don’t want to have a party then forget it,” Luke said, turning around and going to his room.
Ashton groaned loudly and threw his head back before calling out “Okay! We’re having a stupid party! But you’re cleaning up the next day!”
And so came Saturday and the house was packed. Except for one lonely soul sitting outside against the wall, drinking a beer, and not being able to figure out what was so wrong with him. Ashton was right, he was deflecting. But what was wrong with wanting to have a little party to try and forget the past?
The lights were low, so no one could recognize him that easily as he slipped out. The loud noises of the party drowned the sounds of his mind telling him he was the one that fucked up and that he should go back to what he knew was an unhealthy environment. At least that’s a place familiar to him; the feeling of not being enough but still trying to make it up somehow; being the butt of the joke everyone and laughing along even though they never knew the struggle or the pain behind every word or comment he read on the internet.
He was in love, or at least he thought he was. Damn, there was his whole life ahead of him and he thought she’d be by his side through all of it. But love doesn’t have to be black and white, it doesn't have to make you doubt every single word or move or Instagram post. He never thought love could be so cruel… or maybe he didn’t know what love was after all.
What’s worst of it all is that he knew he hurt some people along the way. Fuck, he even made Ashton throw him a party every week to try and cheer him up even though everyone knew it was all a charade. After everything that he did wrong, his friends are still there for him when he least deserves it. All because he was too hung up to see the reality, or too scared to face it.
Still, at least he was sound of mind and heart and didn’t plan to go back to her, even if that meant waking up and facing the unknown future again.
“Cheers to that,” He mumbled as he brought the beer bottle he was nursing to his lips.
“Amen,” A voice said behind him, making him spill his drink all over his shirt “Oh shit! Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you”
Luke wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, counting to ten in his head so that he won’t curse this person out. But soon a hand was stretched out to him, offering some napkins to clean himself out.
Finally, his blue eyes were able to look at the person who so rudely interrupted his self-deprecating moment. And for a second there he was speechless.
“I’m truly sorry,” The girl gave him a shy, awkward smile, “I thought you heard me get out and- Well, that’s what I get for trying to be funny, I guess”
Luke blinked up at her, losing his train of thought when he noticed how cute she looked when blushing and the way her eyes sparkled before she looked down. He couldn’t help but chuckle as he accepted the napkins.
“It was funny,” He said, dabbing his shirt “I always hated this shirt anyways, so thank you for helping me get rid of her”
The girl smiled “I don’t know if you’re making fun of me… but, yeah, that shirt is very 2015”
Luke fake gasped in surprise “Are you saying I have bad taste?”
“I’m saying that maybe you did but are now repenting for your sins”
“So quick-witted”
“One of my many talents”
“What’s another one?”
“I can run faster than a wolf”
“Don’t you get tired?” He asked, scooting to his side so that she could sit beside him. She did.
“Maybe when I do I’ll finally find the place that makes me what to stay” She shrugged “Do you have a talent?”
“I can’t seem to differentiate heroes from villains”
She looked at him, resting her chin on her hand “What do you think I am, then?”
“I don’t know yet” He laughed, looking back at her and getting lost in her eyes for a second before asking “Should I be offended you'd rather be out here than at my party?”
“Should I be offended that the host of the party would rather sit outside in the cold than at his own party?” She challenged him “My friend dragged me here, but I’m not much of a social butterfly and I need a moment to charge my battery before she tries to set me up with another stranger”
“Ooff, tough crowd?”
“The toughest”
“Good.” Luke said, leaning back and looking up at the sky “Easiest way not to get hurt”
“Maybe,” She shrugged. “But if we don’t get hurt once in a while then why bother to feel anything at all?”
Luke turned to her, frowning as he examined her face. “Did Ashton send you here?”
The girl looked at him quizzically, “I literally have no idea who Ashton is, but if he’s like- I don’t know, your “guide” in the universe, then maybe?”
Luke laughed “He’s my co-host”
“Oh! The one singing “I will survive” in karaoke! Yeah, no, I haven’t talked to him. But if you want me to call him I could-”
“No!” Luke said way too quickly and she noticed that as well “I mean if he sees me he’ll know he’s right and I would rather eat another one of Calum’s veggie lasagnas than do that”
“Ouch, tough crowd?”
He groaned “You have no idea”
“I might, a little bit”
“Yeah?” He bumped her arm with his “What’s your story then?”
“Who wants to know?”
“Luke,” He said, extending a hand for her to shake.
“Y/N,” She took his hand in hers, shaking it firmly “Well, Luke, I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours”
“And if we never want to see each other after we do?”
“Then that’s a risk we’ll both have to take”
*
The memory faded as he noticed all eyes were on him.
Shit.
At least there’ll be more elevator memes after this interview.
“Sorry, could you repeat the question, please?” Luke asked, ignoring Calum’s chuckle.
“Of course!” The interviewer smiled “I said that you were one of the main writers in almost every song of this album. What’s the inspiration behind it?”
“Oh,” It was an easy answer, of course, something he had rehearsed with the guys beforehand. But as the memory of your first encounter was still so fresh, another answer came to mind “Love,”
“Love?”
“Well, I guess that the right way to say it would be the feeling you get when you know you’re safe” He started, “When you feel safe around that special someone, no judgment nor fears or doubts. When that person means the world to you and you would do anything to give it to them just to see the smile on their face even for just a second. Or when you make a mistake and you’re willing to put everything on the line to try and make it right, just hoping the other one will forgive you when you think you least deserve it. “I had my doubts about love for quite some time. Thinking I was defined by it when we just create the context ourselves when we find the right person to share that love with. I always believed love would be…”
“Burning red?” Michael smiled, finding the words right out of Luke’s mouth.
“Yeah,” He smiled “But love is not supposed to burn or to hurt. Love is supposed to keep us warm and safe. Love is golden, like daylight”
“But not our old song Daylight,” Ashton said, making everyone laugh “That truly was a mistake”
“But it is part of our history,” Calum added.
“Like heartbreaks and hurt,” Luke chimed in, going back to the original question “But without them, is it even worth feeling anything at all? They’re just passing by until you find the place you want to stay, with the ones you love”
Luke watched with a smile as the other guys answered the rest of the questions, knowing full well that this is where he was meant to be. But there was someone missing.
*
The car dropped him off first, his friends all saying their goodbyes or see you tomorrow and saying I love you to him before he got out. He cracked his back before he grabbed his bag and made his way to the front door, waving one last time at the guys.
The moment he crossed the door he hung his keys and got rid of his boots. He was about to call your name when a faint mixture of sounds got to him. He frowned as he walked toward the living room, quickly finding you under a pile of blankets, wearing his hoodie and with an arm wrapped around a very sleepy Petunia whose snores were drowned out by the sounds on your phone.
Luke smiled as he shook his head, walking over to his two girls and sliding down next to you, wrapping you with his arms.
“What’ you doing?” He said, kissing you on the cheek “Are you- are you watching 5sos TikToks?”
“What can I say?” You said, turning into his embrace and facing him “You guys are very entertaining”
You ignored the rolling of his eyes as you leaned over to kiss him sweetly on the lips, feeling how he relaxed against you.
“Hi,” You mumbled once you pulled back just enough to have only your noses touching.
“Hi, darling” Luke smiled, kissing you briefly one more time.
“Long day?”
“The longest without you”
“Sap” You giggled, trying to scurry away before his hands found your waist and started to tickle it, but not being able to succeed.
This is what he meant about love. Coming home after a long day and having your laugh be music to his ears. Being able to touch you and kiss you like it was the first time every time. Just relaxing with you on the couch with your dog, watching hours and hours of tiktoks before any of your stomachs started to grumble. Talking about your respective days while you cook dinner together with Fleetwood Mac’s music surrounding the house, listening to all the good and the bad and the ugly, and just being there for each other.
The words “I love you” never made sense to him before you came along. But when you kiss him goodnight and whisper those words to him, he knows them to be true. And when he says them back, he knows he’s falling short. Because a love like that is impossible to describe.
A love like that is golden. A love like that is kind.
So every night he adds:

Here I am waiting, I have to leave soon. Why am I holding on?
Luke lays under the cool silk sheets, your body close to his as he lightly caresses your face under the moonlight. He can't sleep.
He hasn't been able to sleep for weeks. He's been stressing about going off on tour, without you. He loved his job, he loved travelling the world and he loved his fans.
But he also hates his job, because it takes him away from you.
Tomorrow is the day he has to leave, you had fallen asleep pretty early, tired from helping him back and prepare. So Luke had been staring at you for hours, memorizing what your face looked like and touching every square inch of skin he could, trying to hold on to you.
We knew this day would come, we knew it all along. How did it come so fast?
Luke doesn't know why he's desperately trying to hold onto you when this day was inevitable, how could he be so upset when this day had been coming for months? Shouldn't have he accepted it by now?
He thought it was just yesterday that he came home to you, announcing that he could finally go back on tour after the pandemic. How happy you two were and how proud you were of Luke. There was so much love and happiness in that moment, yet that memory in Luke's mind has faded into a blue hue of hidden regret.
It's too soon. Luke begins having second thoughts. I can't leave.
This is our last night, but it's late. And I'm trying not to sleep. Because I know when I wake, I will have to slip away.
Luke has hit the point of exhaustion, he can barely keep his eyes open but he refuses to go to sleep. The moment he wakes up he has to get in the car and get on the road, you couldn't take him because you had a school priority that you couldn't get out of.
"That's okay," Luke had sighed when you told him that you wouldn't be able to see him off "you need to do what ya need to do YN"
Inside he was torn to shreds, knowing he couldn't kiss you at the gate made him not want to go through it.
So Luke kisses you now, soft kisses all over your face while you sleep, his soft lips lingering on your warm skin every few seconds as he makes sure to kiss every inch.
And when the daylight comes I'll have to go, but tonight I'm gonna hold you so close. Because in daylight we'll be on our own. But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close.
You actually cried so much before bed. Once Luke got in the shower, you lost it. You were in such hysterics that Luke heard you from the bathroom and came out to comfort you, tears escaping his face as well.
As you held each other, Luke kept promising that he was never going to let you go. That he'd never let anything come between the two of you, that he'd hold you forever if he needed to. He made a slight joke that he wouldn't go if it made you stop crying.
Was it really a joke though?
What the big thing was about the next day, was that you two had never necessarily been separated for each other for a long period of time. You two had gotten together right before the pandemic started, so you spent all of your time at each other's houses. Moved in together pretty quickly, he hadn't gone anywhere for work and if he did you went with him, because of the pandemic you had online school.
But now with societal normalities back in place, you and Luke had to be separated from each other. Something that you both would have to learn how to deal with.
You two really didn't know how to exist without the other one on hand, some would say it was an unhealthy codependency but you and Luke were just happy.
What would you even do without Luke? It'd be so quiet. So empty. You'd no longer have his comfort coming back from class. No more making pancakes for him on Saturday mornings. Your routine will be all out of sorts, what will make up for it?
You tried not to think about it once it crossed your mind, instead, you let Luke hold you as you drifted off, sinking into the last night you had him next to you, dreading the daylight.

Double Life | Luke Hemmings x Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: gangmember!luke hemmings x f!reader
Word Count: 4.1k
Summary: when y/n comes home early, she has a run in with her longterm boyfriend that leaves her questioning everything and wondering who exactly it is she’s in a relationship with (requested)
Warnings: depictions of violence, swearing, angst
Masterlist | Ask/Tell/Request
A/N: my first ever ‘gang themed’ fic and i’m a little nervous about it. i’ve never written something like this before, but for the most part i think it turned out ok! this is also one of my first ever requests, so hopefully the user who requested likes it! i’ve also been working on loads of other fics so if this one isn’t for you, don’t worry, others are coming! also, can we just talk about the fact how both of my luke fics are angsty? lmao I swear I'll write a fluff piece for this man soon. anyways, enjoy and lmk what you think :)
The moment you step into the house, you can tell something is off.
There’s this rumbling coming from the floor, it’s not extreme and only happens every few minutes so you know it’s not an earthquake, but it’s definitely suspicious. You feel like you can hear yelling as well, but it’s mumbled and sounds distant.
You’re not even supposed to be home right now. If it was like any other day, you’d still be at work until at least the late evening. There was an emergency, though, no one was hurt, but everyone got sent home early.
On your way home, you had called your boyfriend, Luke, but he didn’t pick up. You just figured he was with the band or working on something, but now you wish he had picked up because the yelling is getting louder and you’re pretty sure it’s coming from inside the house.
The smart thing to do would be to leave the house, call the police, and stay safe inside your car until they got here. Instead, you succumb to the urge of checking things out for yourself. Maybe Luke has the guys over and they’re just messing around like they always do.
You reflect back to when you pulled up to the house. There’s no other cars out there except yours. Maybe the guys got Ubers here? Jesus, you think, I’m grasping at straws at this point.
Inching your way to the back of the house, you strain your ears to try and make out the yelling. It sounds like there’s multiple voices, each one screaming over the other. Your heart rate picks up as the floor begins to shake again and the yelling becomes louder the closer your get to the basement door.
You never, ever go down there. When you and Luke bought the house it surprised you that there even was a basement. Majority of California homes didn’t have them, especially the ones in the hills.
It’s not like there’s anything down there, everything you need is either on the first floor or the second. The fact the space isn’t even finished is what prevented you from ever turning it into anything either. This first time you went down there was the last time. It was cold, dark, and gave you bad vibes in general, definitely not a place you’d willingly spend time.
Taking a peek around the corner, you notice the basement door is slightly ajar. The sight makes your heart rate skyrocket. There’s someone inside the house. It’s most certainly time to abort this mission and call the cops, now.
Taking several steps back to try and get out of here, you stop when a familiar voice makes it’s way to your ears. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” A scoff follows the sentence and your nerves drastically settle when you realize who it belongs to.
Luke! Who in the world knows why he’d be in the basement, but thankfully it isn’t some burglars. You wonder what he’s doing down there…
Opening the door, you start to make your way down the steep steps. Holding onto the railing, you nearly fall down the stairs when the rumbling starts up again, and so does the yelling.
“You son of a bitch you better answer me right now! Or I’ll show you just how angry I can get!” You watch in horror as your boyfriend of three years throws a punch at some guy tied to a beam in the middle of your basement. The moment Luke’s hand connects with the guy’s face, it causes his head to fly back into the beam. Your blood runs cold as you realize that’s what the rumbling feeling in the floor was.
“Luke?” It comes out like a gasp and suddenly every head in the room snaps towards you. Luke’s shaking out his hand when he turns towards you. You’ve never seen him so angry, so violent. His features soften when he realizes it’s you.
“Y/N? W-What are you doing home? You’re supposed to be at work.” From your place at the bottom of the stairs you can see the way his Adam’s apple bobs up and down. You’ve caught him off guard, you’re not supposed to be seeing this, not supposed to know.
You feel like you’re gonna be sick.
“I got off work early, there was an emergency, I tried to call you,” you reply weakly. When you go to speak again, it comes out like a whisper. “What’s going on?”
Looking around, you take in the three other men in the room. Two of them who you recognize immediately, guards the boys have for the band, and the other is the guy tied to the beam. Your skin crawls when you get a good look at the apparent hostage. His face is beaten and bloody, the bodily fluid trickling down his face and onto his shirt, small pants coming from his mouth.
“It’s nothing to worry about, just go back upstairs and I’ll be with you in a minute.” Luke’s voice is clipped, it’s formal and affirmative. You’ve never heard him speak like that before, and what the hell is that supposed to mean? I’ll be with you in a minute? What is this, a business office?
“Nothing to worry about? How am I supposed to not worry when my boyfriend is beating the shit out of some guy in our house!?” You’re yelling at this point, fear and anger bubbling up your chest. How could he do this? “What is it you’re not telling me? You better start explaining yourself, Luke or I swear to God.”
The blonde rushes over to you, determination and concern mixed in his eyes. He reaches out to grab your hand, but the minute he touches you you shake him off, tears prickling in your eyes as you notice the cuts and bruises littering his knuckles.
“Y/N, I promise I’ll explain everything to you, I just need a minute.”
An exasperated laugh leaves your lips. “What, so you can finish him off?” You shake your head and look the Aussie right in the eyes as you say, “Who even are you?”
Rushing back up the stairs, you let the tears fall freely. Never in your life have you felt so confused, shocked, and angry. You think over every possible explanation as to what can be going on right now, but nothing justifies it, nothing excuses the violent actions the man you love has taken part in.
It's not long before Luke is barreling up the stairs after you. He wasted no time in telling the other men what to do with the, apparently useless, insider. He clearly wasn't gonna talk so there's no need to keep him holed up any longer, Luke would get what he needed another way. Right now all he wanted to do was talk to you, try to explain. He knows instantly it's not gonna go well, but he hopes to God he can somehow fix this, somehow not lose you. Please.
"Y/N, hold on, just wait a second." Luke meets up with you in the living room, you lightly pace back and forth, not caring about the tears dripping onto your shirt.
His voice halts your movements, you turn towards him, confusion and disbelief written all over your face. "Tell me everything, now." You have no patience anymore, you need answers and you need them now.
The blonde raises his hands in defense, but his act to try and calm you only heightens your anxiety as you get a really good look at his hands now. Dried blood you know doesn't belong to him runs down the creases in his palms, the bruising so much more evident now that you're in a lit area.
"I'll tell you everything, but I need you to trust me and trust that what I'm telling you is the truth, okay?" Luke looks at you with those big blues eyes and in that instant it's so hard not to trust him, so hard not to just break down in his arms and try to forget the nightmare you just walked in on, but you can't and you won't.
"Just start talking, please," you say, it almost sounds like you're begging at this point. You just can't wrap your mind around this, nor do you really want to, but you know you have to.
"I'm in a gang, Y/N." The Australian native drops his hands to his sides, looking at you with a soft but serious expression.
The laugh escapes your lips before you can even think about stopping it. "A gang? Really, Luke? You're kidding me, right?"
"I'm being serious, I told you you had to trust that what I'm telling you is the truth." You scoff and shake your head, this is ridiculous.
"You seriously expect me to believe that? You're in a band, Luke! One of the biggest ones out there, might I add. You couldn't possibly be in a gang, you're lying to me."
"I'm not lying! I'm telling you the truth, I swear. I'm in a gang and I have been for a long time. Before I even met you I was in it," Luke sighs, looking away from you before returning his gaze. "I've been in the gang as long as I've been in the band."
It takes a moment for it to click in your mind. If Luke's been in a gang as long as he's been in the band that means...
"Are the other guys in on this with you?" Luke nods curtly, his gaze hard at the realization everything's reached a fever pitch. This is happening and there's no turning back. "Oh my god."
Nearly doubling over, short gasps make their way between you lips. Your head spins at the fact not only has your boyfriend been keeping something so incredibly consequential a secret from you, but so have three of the most important people in your life.
"I'm sorry this is how you had to find out. I wanted to tell you when we got more serious as a couple, but I couldn't, for your own safety."
"For my own safety!? Luke, what the hell!? If anything you put me in more danger by not telling me!" You run your hands through your hair as you let out a frustrated groan. "How did you even get in a gang? You mean to tell me when you started this band, when you were fifteen years old, you also joined a gang?"
"That's exactly what I'm telling you! I know it sounds insane, but it's the truth! I told you how we didn't have any money when we started, our families couldn't help with everything we needed, so we looked into alternatives to help us keep the band going."
"So instead of getting jobs at a grocery store you went and joined a gang!?" Your voice is rising as the minutes go by, the anger and betrayal being the only thing keeping you going at this point.
"It wasn't supposed to be forever, okay!? Ashton was older than us, he went to school with different people. Some of them reached out to him and gave him an offer for us we couldn't refuse. We needed that money, Y/N. It was just petty stuff we had to do, no big deal!"
"No big deal? I don't think you can call torturing someone in our home, no big deal, Luke!" Luke is getting frustrated now, he's trying to explain it to you in a way he'd think you'd understand. He knows it's a lot to take in, but it's who he is, this is part of him, and he wants you to grasp that fact.
"It wasn't like that in the beginning. I'm telling you the truth when I say it was just small stuff we had to do. They understood our situation and didn't force us to do anything insane."
"Okay, if they were so understanding, why didn't you guys leave when the band got big? I know for a fact once you guys took off you could afford to fend for yourselves. Why stay and object yourselves to stuff like that when you knew the risks, knew you had a fanbase full of teenage girls that could easily get wrapped up in something like that if the wrong person came after you!"
"It's not that simple! Once you get in, it's really hard to get back out. We knew that when we joined and we've been doing just fine with it ever since. Nothing has ever happened that would put someone involved with us in danger, but to make sure, only the people that need to know about the gang, know. I know you saw the two security guards, they're part of the gang too, they just present themselves as our band security but they're really there to ensure everything is safe and to handle anything we need if something happens."
"Luke, you're saying all of this as if it somehow makes it better! Nothing about being in a gang is safe and it shocks me you're so sure it is. I don't care how hard it is, you and the other guys shouldn't be involved!" You can see the anger building in Luke's eyes, as you're sure he can see it building in yours.
"You don't understand and it's obvious you never will! I get it, you're probably scared, but you shouldn't be! You're safer than you think-"
Cutting him off immediately with a sharp scoff you say, "I shouldn't be scared? Please, tell me how I shouldn't be scared of coming home to find my boyfriend beating on a man in our house!"
"I'm sorry you saw that, you weren't supposed to! I've never brought people like that to our house before now. Things just got out of hand and we had to move fast so I brought him here in order to be in control of the environment, it won't happen again."
"You're damn right it won't happen again because you're leaving the gang!" Your voice echoes off the walls in the living room, your distress evident in every word.
Luke pulls at his curls, trying to keep his emotions in check, but it's getting increasingly difficult. You both are beginning to lose it. This is definitely not turning out how Luke had hoped.
"I'm not leaving the gang!"
"Why not!? Why are you so attached to this!? I know there has to be a way to get out of it, nothing is impossible! I don't understand why-"
"Because I'm the goddamn leader!" The blonde's voice practically rattles the walls around you, the admission sucking the air right out of your lungs.
"You're the leader of a gang?" You stare at your boyfriend with utter disbelief, tears prickling your eyes and your skin burning. "We've been together for over three years and I'm just now finding out that you're not just a member, but the leader of a fucking gang!?"
You're shaking your head, not wanting to believe any of this. Wanting so desperately to go back to being in ignorant bliss to everything that's just happened. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I told you why it had to be like this. I'm not leaving the gang and that's final. Over the years the original leader took notice in me and once it was his time to step down, I was his first choice as his replacement. I’ve been the leader for a while now and I have a responsibility, I have people and things to look after. This is important to me!"
The anger between you both seems to continuously deflate and swell. Each confession leaving room for a moment of dissipated anger, only for it to rise once more. Your eyes widen at Luke's comment, fury boiling under the surface of your skin in an instant.
"And am I no longer one of those important people!? What about me, Luke!? What about your family!? Those are the people you should be looking after! Not criminals who probably wouldn't hesitate to hurt you if it wasn't for your status!"
"Don't you dare try and flip this! I never said I didn't care about you or my family!" Luke takes several steps closer to you and you don't even think for a second about backing down. "I love you and I always have! It's not fair of you to try and diminish that!"
"Really, Luke!? Because it's pretty damn hard to tell right about now! I don't know what to believe anymore, it's like you're living some, some double life!" The tears are rolling rapidly down your face but they do nothing to cool your rising temper.
The blonde's eyes are filled with an emotion you've never witnessed from him before. His face is red and his lips are set in a straight line. You've never seen him like this, hoped you never would. He's such a different person right now, it makes you dizzy.
"That's the way it's supposed to be! How many fucking times-!" Luke raises his hand to try and annunciate his point, but the movement startles you, images of his hand raising to hit the man downstairs flashing in your mind.
You're frozen in your spot, blood running cold, nothing but fear running through your body. Luke stops talking, yelling, immediately. His eyes flash from his raised hand to your frightened expression. He notices the glossiness in your eyes, your rigid shoulders.
What's happening registers instantly in Luke's head. You thought he was going to hit you.
"Baby-," Luke croaks out, his voice weak. He continues, but it's at a whisper. "Did you, did you think I was going to hit you?"
Your silence is enough of an answer for the man before you. His eyes fill with tears, the anger and frustration leaving his body almost as quickly as it entered. "Y/N, I would never hurt you, I swear."
He reaches out towards you, wanting to embrace you and let you know just how much you mean to him, but you take a step back, turning your head away from his approaching hands.
"I-I need some time alone." It's barely a whisper, but Luke hears you and understands. His heart shatters at how he's made you feel, how he's handled this. "Please just let me be alone for a while."
Out of the corner of your eye you see Luke nod slightly. You waste no time in walking away from him, practically running up the stairs to your room.
When you walk in, you close the door and lock it. The action happens almost like an instinct and it causes your heart to break even more than it already was. How could it take less than an hour for your whole perspective to change on the man you love? How could it take less than an hour to become scared of the man you share this very room with...
Choked sobs erupt from your throat as you fling yourself onto your bed, burying your face in the pillows, wishing with everything you've got that you could start this whole day over and prevent any of this from even happening.
*****
It's been hours since your argument with Luke. The house is still, quiet. You heard his footsteps outside the bedroom door earlier, could practically hear the thoughts inside his head of if he should knock or not. He ended up walking away and it confused the hell out of you that you simultaneously were relieved and sad he had.
Your head and throat hurts, no doubt from all the crying and screaming earlier. Your eyes are puffy and you quickly gave up on trying to make yourself look presentable.
A little over an hour ago you called one of your best friends, you decided it was best to get away for a few days, try to clear your head and think all of this over. It's going to be hard just leaving like this, leaving Luke, but you don't know what else to do. You need to get away for a while, from all this, from Luke...
Taking your suitcase off the bed and putting it on the floor, you grab the last of your things and walk to the door. You take a deep breath before slowly unlocking and then opening it.
The hallway is empty, but now you can hear the light strumming of a guitar you couldn't hear before coming from downstairs. You can't help the small smile that graces your lips. You've always loved that sound, Luke playing random songs or ones he's working on. You feel a tiny squeeze on your heart as you go to make your way down the stairs.
You know the moment Luke notices you because suddenly the music stops and it's followed by shuffling as he gets up to make his way towards you. Using what little strength you have left, you look up and take him in. He's got a fresh set of clothes on, his hair is slightly damp, and you notice his hands are no longer caked in blood. He must've cleaned up in the guest room when you were holed up in your shared bedroom. You swallow the lump in your throat before it has a chance to grow.
"Hey," Luke says lightly. You can tell he's scared to make any sudden movements, to frighten you or cross a line.
"Hey," you reply. You watch as blue eyes trail swiftly over your luggage, can see the sadness that fills them when they reach your own again. "I'm gonna go stay at Y/F/N's for a bit."
Nodding his head, Luke gives you a small smile. He understands your need to get away, he would want to as well if roles were reversed. He feels like an idiot and wants to take it all back and start over, but he knows he can't.
"I really am sorry about everything, Y/N. I made such a mess of everything and I know I can't take any of it back. I hope you know that I truly would never, ever hit you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did." The sincerity in Luke's voice is evident, you can tell he means what he's saying.
"I-I know, Luke. I'm sorry too." Luke rushes towards you but stops dead in his tracks when he realizes it, knowing you could still be scared even if you're saying you know he wouldn't hurt you.
"Baby, you have nothing to be sorry for. This is on me, I did this to us. I should've told you. You're the most important person in the world to me and keeping something like that from you, even if I thought it was the right thing, was wrong. I understand why you feel the need to leave and I want you to know that you can take all the time you need. I'll be here for you, always." The Aussie takes a hesitant step towards you and at no sign of discomfort, he slowly reaches out and cups your face with his palms. "I love you so much."
Tears sting your eyes once more, but you do your best to blink them away. Taking an unsteady breath you say, "Somehow, I still love you too." A weak laugh mixed with a sob comes from Luke and the sight and sound nearly breaks you. You give him a small smile as you lightly place your hand on his chest.
Luke leans down, his lips brushing against yours and you make no move to turn him away. The moment you two connect, you feel yourself melting into him instantly. No matter how upset and heartbroken you are over everything, it still hasn't changed the way this man makes you feel when he kisses you.
It takes everything in you to pull away, but you do it. Luke leans his forehead on yours and you revel in it for a minute, not wanting to leave his warm embrace, but you have to. You need to take a few days, so you step back and grab the handle of your suitcase.
Turning towards the front door, you open it and begin to step outside. Before you can close the door behind you, you take one last look at your boyfriend, at this man you thought you knew everything about but now feel a little clueless over, this man you can't believe you still love with your whole heart.
"Goodbye, Luke."

A/N: I'm am so terribly sorry for the late post, anon :) I have been going through...a lot in my personal life, as well as working on a full-length fic with lots of queer and neurodiverse rep (hint hint ;)). Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy and thank you for such a sweet prompt!
You smiled, blushing and averting your eyes as Luke kissed your knuckles from across the dinner table. You two were currently out for dinner at a wonderfully luxurious French restaurant for Valentine’s Day, and Luke was making the butterflies in your stomach go wild. You’d been dating for a little over a year now, but he still made you feel like a young girl, giggling and blushing over her school crush.
“You are so beautiful,” the blond hummed, gazing at you as the candles on the table lit up his blue eyes. “How did I get so lucky?”
“More like how did I get so lucky?” You smiled softly, sipping your wine.
Luke kissed your knuckles again, taking his time to admire how beautiful you were. He knew that you were rather insecure about still dating in your late twenties while all your friends were married, but he felt so beyond lucky to have you that he felt a strong pull to make sure you really knew just how much better you made his life.
“More wine?” Luke asked you, nodding his head towards your empty glass.
“I was actually thinking that we could head back to yours?” You asked softly, blushing the whole time.
You’d recently been thinking about your life and how you felt about Luke, and realized that you wanted him on a deeper level. You knew Luke was your person, soulmate, if you would. You watched as Luke’s smile grew at what you said. He quickly called over the waiter, paying the bill, and standing up, taking your hand.
“That sounds perfect to me.” he smiled, kissing the top of your head.
One of your favorite things about Luke was how protective and loving he was. He refused to treat you as anything less than a lady, and that was evident as he held your hand through the restaurant. The evening air was chilly as you walked out of the restaurant, and Luke held you close as you walked to his Range Rover, giggling softly at how adorable he thought you were. He had never had a girlfriend that was as wonderful as you were, and he absolutely relished in the fact that he could spoil you, but you still respected him as more than a cash cow.
“God, you make it so easy to love you.” You told him, kissing his cheek as Luke started the car and helped you in.
“I’m amazing, aren’t I?” he asked with a satirical hair flip.
You giggled as Luke began to drive, leaning your head against the window as you watched the lights of downtown go by. You had recently moved in with Luke on the outskirts of LA where many celebrities and musicians lived, and getting to have this life with your boyfriend made you so eternally grateful. It was a stark contrast to how you had grown up, and even to your early 20s, but it was amazing nonetheless. Luke took care of you in the best possible ways, making sure that you were cared for not only physically and financially, but emotionally and mentally as well.
Which is why you took his hand, tugging him to the master bedroom once you two had arrived home. “I wanted to talk to you.” You hummed, sitting down on the bed.
“Is everything alright?” the blond asked, worry creasing around his blue eyes as he took off his watch.
“Yes,” Your blush deepend. “It’s just…you know I’m a virgin.”
“I do know that,” Luke walked over to where you were sitting and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Is that what you wanted to talk about? Because you know I’m okay with waiting until whenever you’re ready.” he whispered softly.
“That’s just it. I am ready.” Your eyes sparkled as you looked up at Luke.
You could see the expression on his face change from one of concern, to one of eagerness. His eyes roamed up and down your body, spending an extra bit of time at your cleavage.
“Are you sure?” Luke kissed you softly, running his thumb across your jawline. “Don’t do it for me, baby girl. Do what feels right for you.”
“I’m sure,” You nodded firmly, kissing him back. “I want to lose my virginity to you, Luke. Tonight.”
“Well in that case,” Luke chuckled, running his hands along your back and then under your shirt until they met the clasp of your bra. “May I?”
You nodded, moaning softly at the electric touch that was Luke’s warm hands on your skin. He slowly undid your bra and then pulled it off along with your shirt. The blond quickly unbuttoned his own white button-down, tossing it onto the bedroom floor.
“My gorgeous, gorgeous girl,” he whispered, trailing kisses from your lips, across your cheeks, to the sweet spot behind your ear. “Tonight is all about you.” Luke told you with a soft growl, beginning to suckle softly.
You ran your hands along his bare back, feeling the warmth seep into your own skin. The feeling of Luke leaving hickeys along your neck was alighting your nerves, making you buck your hips closer to him. You were filled with want for your boyfriend, and you were pretty sure this was the first time you’d ever felt truly horny. Your clit throbbed against the seams of your underwear in your jeans and you nearly had to cross your legs to fight the feeling.
Luke laid you back against the soft, cushiony pillows of your shared king-sized bed, straddling you and hooking his finger into the waistband of your jeans before speaking. “Is it alright if I take these off?”
You could feel the blond’s hardening cock brushing against your already sensitive crotch, and you let out a small whine. “Please.”
Luke kissed your tummy, slowly undoing the button of your jeans and sliding them down your legs. “You are so, so beautiful. I’m so honored that I get to be your first.” he whispered, planting a kiss on your lacy, pink underwear.
The blond was being extra slow and gentle, and you loved him for it. Most men would jump at taking a woman’s virginity, not even considering how she might be feeling, but not Luke. He was taking his time, worshiping every inch and curve of your body and leaving soft kisses and hickeys all over your skin. Luke pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned on a slow, romantic R&B playlist, before setting it on the nightstand and focusing on you again.
This was exactly how you had imagined losing your virginity would go, and to say it was perfect was an understatement. Luke was grinding his own hips into yours with the beat of the music, quite literally ‘making love’ to you as his soft, blond curls fell in his face. He paused for a moment to remove his own dress pants, leaving the both of you in nothing but your underwear.
“Is there something you would like me to try?” Luke asked you, his deep blue eyes looking into your own as he brushed a strand of hair from your face.
“Please, Lu. Just fuck me,” You whined out. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
Luke chuckled, kissing you as he slid your panties off. “Someone’s already losing her innocence, huh?”
You giggled and blushed, pecking his lips. “Only for you.”
Your boyfriend removed his own underwear, and you nearly gasped at the sight. You had seen Luke naked before, of course, and you’d seen him hard through his underwear, but you’d never seen what his dick looked like free from boxers while he was hard. He was huge. A part of you worried that there was no way all eight inches of him was going to fit, but at the same time, you knew Luke would take care of you.
He rolled a condom onto his throbbing cock, topping it with some lube. “Are you ready? I want to make sure you want this too.”
You nodded quickly, your walls already clenching with want for him. “Please, Luke. Do it.”
“Tell me if you need me to stop, okay? My love’s comfort is my number one concern.” Luke kissed your lips deeply again.
The blond wasn’t a virgin by any means, but he knew you were, and that made him feel extra protective over you. Luke left one last kiss on you before he slowly inserted his dick into you, practically moaning at how good you felt. You winced from the pain of suddenly being full, but slowly eased into it, enjoying the sensation.
“God. This feels…good.” You whimpered, already running your nails down your back.
Luke knew you would probably be extra sensitive, so he took his time riding you, finding just the perfect rhythm. You panted as he rode you, not used to the feeling of being so aroused. You had never gotten yourself off before, so all of this was a whole new experience. Slightly unsure of what to do with yourself, you tangled your hands in Luke’s blond curls, panting heavily.
“You doing okay, baby?” the blond asked you, beginning to ride you harder.
You gasped and whined, nodding frantically. “Oh my god, Luke.”
“You look so pretty, baby. Look like you’re about to have your first orgasm, darling.” he smirked.
You blushed under his gaze, still getting used to the feeling of him inside of you. Your lower tummy had been building up with a warm heat ever since Luke had started teasing you, and it was only getting hotter. Luke caressed every inch of your body, humming sweet nothings and leaving slight hickeys as he continued the exact same motion, knowing it would make you cum.
“You’re so wet for me, baby,” he moaned loudly. “You and your tight little cunt.”
Letting out a high-pitched squeal, you ran your nails along Luke’s back. “Please,” You whined. “Think I’m gonna cum.”
The blond railed into you one last time before speaking in a deep, sultry voice. “Go ahead, baby girl. Show me how much you like having me take your virginity.”
You gasped as your cunt suddenly clenched around Luke’s cock, your cum coating his condom-covered dick. “Oh my god,” You yelped. “Oh god, Luke. Feels so good.”
Luke chuckled as he came himself, panting heavily. “God, you're such a good girl.”
You blushed, feeling yourself tighten again at his words. You had heard of a praise kink before, and you were pretty sure that that was your thing, seeing as how your pussy was practically dripping every time Luke complimented you. Your boyfriend slowly pulled out, removing the condom and tying it up, before throwing it into the trash can beside the bed.
“Was that okay?” he asked you with a smile on his face.
You giggled, eyes glazed over from being fucked out. It wasn’t a lot, but for someone who had never had an orgasm before, you were wiped. “It was perfect.”
The blond smiled, grabbing a bottle of lotion off his nightstand and beginning to rub it across your body. Your skin was slightly red and had a few scattered bruises blooming from where his fingers had dug into your hips, and Luke wanted to make sure you felt as loved as possible. He rubbed the cream onto your skin, taking great care to treat your body with love. You had just given him a great honor, after all, and he wanted to respect that.
“You were perfect, you know that?” he hummed. “My perfect girl.”
You blushed as Luke finished, curling up next to him and pulling the sheet over your naked bodies. “That was the way I always imagined losing my virginity to go, you know?”
Luke smiled and kissed you. “I love you, darling.”
“I love you, Luke. Thank you. For everything.”
And as you two fell asleep, he knew you really meant it. You were his girl. Forever.

Angel (lrh) Chap. 2
warning: language
note: not edited but i dont care. i said next fic would be a george daniel fic. i lied. deal with it
12 hours ago, Luke had been dumped onto his front porch like a bag of trash, and at the moment, he didn’t feel that different from one.
Luke had tried almost everything he knew to solve a hangover: exercise, hydration, even some weird concoction Ashton whipped up for him in the morning that sent a weird tingle through his veins for just a moment, but the throbbing of his head and sickness in his stomach made him wince at every sudden move surrounding him.
At precisely 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Luke downed half a pot of coffee, and by 3:23, he got into his car and drove to the local strip club, Les Belles Femmes, to right a wrong.
The wrong, in this instance, would be referring to the beautiful woman he thoroughly annoyed last night. Maybe he wanted an excuse to go back to the strip club, maybe he wanted an excuse to see her again, that eye-catching individual he felt a strong sense of guilt for burdening last night.
His car comes to a rolling stop, well, Michael’s car, in the trashed parking lot of the club. This place looks a lot different in the day time, the sign not so glowy, the building not so alluring, or maybe he’s just sober this time. Michael didn’t know that Luke took his new car out, and Luke had no intention of telling him. After the stupid fistfight Michael got into last night at the party, he had been passed out his bedroom with the lights out for hours. Ashton checked in on him a few times, checking for a pulse, and Michael simply swatted him away like an angsty teen.
Luke’s hand slides onto the metal handle of the door and he exits the vehicle, approaching the club, coming face to face with the bouncer.
Of course, with Luke’s luck, it’s Steve from last night. Steve remembers Luke, Steve doesn’t like Luke, Steve won’t tolerate Luke, not again. “Beat it, mop top.” Steve starts like a bully from a 2000′s movie.
“Please, man, I gotta talk to her,” Luke all but gets on his knees and begs the other man, though not much larger than him vertically, he had much more more on him horizontally. In other words, dude was jacked as hell.
“Who?”
“Angel.”
“You’re here for Angel? Sure. What’s her real name?”
“...Olivia.”
Steve sighs. “Just go home kid. You’re young. You’ve got better things to be doing at 4 o’clock on a Saturday.”
“I really don’t. Can I please just talk to her? Please?” Luke considers poking his bottom lip out in a pout but ultimately decides against it, not wanting to risk it.
Steve sighs like that’s all he knows how to do. This must be an everyday thing for him. “I’ll call her out here. That’s only if she wants to come out, got it? If she’s busy, you’re out of here.” Luke enthusiastically nods, and Steve disappears into the tinted front doors of the club.
His heart is in his chest, thumping and thrashing about and he wonders if he’s too young to be having a heart attack, and the overworked muscle threatens to stop all together when he sees the door open again.
“Oh, it’s you,” she rasps at him, and Steve is following right behind her, keeping a watchful eye over Luke, as if he would get handsy any second now.
She’s not wearing a typical garb of someone in her line of work, she dons some black sweatpants and a black Nirvana T-shirt, much to Luke’s approval, but he keeps that to himself, at least for now. She must have just gotten here, perhaps not even a few minutes ago. Lucky timing.
“It’s me. Can we talk?” Her face is bewildered, she seems mildly annoyed that she’s out here off the clock, but nods.
“So, uh, I kept thinking about you, the random act of kindness you showed me last night when you really didn’t need to, I felt bad about not deserving it. So, if you’d allow it, would you like to have dinner with me?”
“No.” She turns on her heel, ready to bolt back inside to her safe space, but of course, he just won’t have it.
“Wait! Okay, that’s fine, you don’t need to go on a date with me, totally fine, I get it. I’m a creepy guy who shows up at your work to ask you out, not my proudest moment, I’ll admit. Um, I - uh - I’m playing a show tonight! Me and my band. I’ll get you a ticket, two if you want to bring a friend, free of charge.”
“What makes you think I want to see your crappy little garage band?” She counters, contrarily. He cracks a smile, unreciprocated.
“Because your a kind woman?” She scalds him with a stare, “hey, we’re not awful. And it’s free. It will be fun, I promise, I’ll play a great show, just for you.”
She sighs, just like Steve would, and speaking of Steve, he’s been watching in amusement, slightly in disapproval, yet doing his best to hold in a laugh at the patheticness of this young man.
“If I show up,” Luke’s smile doubles, “ if, heavy if, you promise you won’t be weird about it? You won’t make some weird mention of me on stage. No random love confessions?”
“Pinky swear,” he extends his smallest finger to her and she stares again, scalding him again, he puts his hand down.
“Angel? It’s 4:30,” Steve warns from behind, standing guard at the doors.
“Write down the time and place, give it to Steve, if I’m feeling nice, I might come. Don’t get your hopes up, freak.”
He should be mildly offended at the name he was just called but he isn’t, and for some weird reason, he kind of liked it a little bit. He’d have to explore that more later.
“Perfect. Cool. I’ll see you later. Maybe, I guess. Either way though, it’s fine, really.” Luke’s still shouting stupid things as she goes back inside, leaving him alone, with Steve.
“Alright, alright, I’m leaving,” his hands raise in surrender as he walks back to Michael’s car. He can’t wash the smile off his face as he pulls out of the carpark.
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
“What’s wrong with you, dude?” Michael appears behind him in the dressing room mirror. He’s got a shiner roughly the size of a young woman’s fist and Luke doesn’t even feel bad about the full body laugh that escapes him. “Yeah, yeah, have your laugh,” he grumbles.
“I’m sorry mate, what were you saying?” Luke fusses a little extra with his hair tonight, experimenting with different strands laying out in variations across his face.
“I was asking what’s wrong with you. Why are you so excited?”
“What? Am I not allowed to be happy anymore?” Luke turns back to look at Michael but Michael deathstares him.
“No.”
“Whatever,” he mumbles as Michael walks away. The band was going on in 10 minutes, and once again, Luke was worrying if he was of age to be having a heart attack with how furiously it assaulted his ribcage in deep, heavy pumps.
Sure, he doesn’t necessarily take care of his body, but he’s only 20, he doesn’t have to, right?
The stage lights are hot, bright, and blindingly white once they shine down on Luke. He feels like he could fall off this stage right now, hoping security could act fast enough to catch him in the front row. Or maybe he’d stagedive. He did say he’d give a good show to Angel. Hey, maybe if she liked it enough, she might even tell him her real name. Maybe agree to the date.
Either way, his ass was on the line with tonight’s performance. Tonight’s venue was only big enough to host 300, maybe 350 people, so he hopes she doesn’t see the small crowd and imagine his band sucks so much that no one even comes to see them live.
Sure, they were no Fifth Harmony, but he could hold a tune pretty well, and as long as he jumped around the stage looking pretty for about 45 minutes, the fans seem content with him.
Needless to say, he had never been so worried about a performance since his very first performance that didn’t include at least 3-10 family members in the audience. The first few shows of the band were mostly family, friends, and anyone else they could beg to come, but eventually people started coming on their own terms, no begging involved. If you squint, this nights was not one of those, as Luke had to do some serious begging to get this girl in the audience.
She probably didn’t know he knew that she was here tonight, as she didn’t dress up in any way, blending in with the crowd, but little did she know that Luke put in a word with the entrance security to alert him when a certain someone with a VIP ticket shows up.
VIP means that she, amongst a few other fangirls, would be coming back to meet the band after the show ends, that is, if she wants to. She could decide the four of them are shit and go home early.
Whatever, whatever, whatever, don’t think, don’t stress, don’t worry, whatever a therapist would say right now.
The setlist consisted mostly of songs off their newest album, Sounds Good Feels Good, along with some classics from their self titled album, and a few sentimental songs, mostly just for the old fans, off the B-Sides album.
The band ended the first portion with the set with Jet Black Heart, coming back for an encore of She Looks So Perfect, then finally exiting the stage for the night, and Luke almost started biting his fingernails even though that’s something he doesn’t do.
He sprawled himself down on a backstage black leather couch, feeling sweaty and overall a little rank, and Michael walked up to him, fake-punching him in the stomach with an explosion sound effect, then continued walking to the entrance that the VIP guests would be entering through in just a few minutes.
“Dude, you coming or not? They’re almost here.” Ashton nudges him with a gentle knee and tiredly, Luke sits up, stretching out his arms loudly, enjoying every snap and crack emitting from his tired joints.
He suddenly hears frantic female chatter and he knows it’s time, so he stands up, turns around, and is face-to-face with her. Angel, the one who he had been waiting for all night. “You’re here,” he pretends to be surprised.
“I am,” she smiles nicely but he can sense there’s something behind it, a heavy ‘but’ lingering in her words. Before she can continue, he starts.
“You look nice, tonight. I like the jeans,” he comments on the ripped black skinny jeans that look like they’d be straight out of his own closet, speaking of which, he is also currently wearing black skinny jeans, the only difference being the lack of a tasteful rip over the left knee.
“I know. So do you. It was a great performance, by the way. Though, I’m getting the feeling the crowds usually aren’t this small, you had some serious die hard fans out there.”
“Yeah, we’re doing some smaller shows before we go on a hiatus for the next album we’re writing. This one tonight, it’s the last one, actually.”
“Oh really? Cool.” He doesn’t know what else to tell her, as there’s no other concert to invite her to again, and he doesn’t want to rush her by asking her out again, he could easily fuck this up and never see her again as easily as he convinced her to come tonight.
“So, I-”
“Listen-”
“Sorry, you go first,” she continues.
“Okay, um. Do you wanna hang out again sometime? Maybe go to a party my mate is having in a few days or something? Or, if you wanna keep it lowkey, that’s cool too, maybe a movie or something?”
“Right, so listen, I don’t usually do this, and I’m starting to realize why. I think driving you home last night was a mistake, I know that now, and I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong idea with this whole thing, but I try my best to keep my private life and my work life separate.”
“What?”
“Hey, don’t take it personally. You’re a great guy, got a lot going for you, you sing, you dance, you’re cute, you’re persistent, girls love that, and I’m sure any day now, you’ll find a good one, but I’m sorry, I just don’t think it’s gonna be me.”
He doesn’t say anything, just hopes nobody is listening to this right now.
“So, I should probably head out now, thanks for the show, and for the ticket. I appreciate it, really. Maybe sometime you can come into my work and I’ll give you a freebie or something,” she’s already at the door with her back turned when she gives it a second thought. “I’m kidding, by the way, don’t do that. I’ll have Steve kick you out again. Bye though!”
He’s just standing there dumbfounded, when a girl with a VIP pass comes up asking for a hug and a picture, and he does as he’s asked with a content smile on his face but his mind is elsewhere from his loving fans.
She called him cute. She called him cute! At least the night wasn’t a total failure. Sure, that’s what he’ll tell himself to avoid hiding in his closet and crying like an insecure teenage boy who just got rejected by his crush.
No, he was a 20 year old boy who got rejected by a stripper, this is different, these are adult problems, not teenage problems.

why are you here? - l.r.h.
requested: no. bruh at this point i don’t even know when im gonna get my last requests done 💀
a/n: i haven’t had my zoloft in a week 🤞🤞 doctors appointment on thursday tho 🫶
cw: SMUT!!! bathroom sex, name calling, slight angst, a bit of a fluffy end. (if there’s anything else lmk in the comments)
———
my heart dropped as i spotted him across the room. he was dancing with some chick. my fingers tightened around the glass i was holding, hardly listening to anything my friend in front of me was saying.
“helloooo?” ryan waved his hand in front of me. my eyes snapped back to him, my heart beat quickening as i thought about how he was in the same room as me.
it had been six months since the break up. what we had was fantastic, but we crumbled down, and ended terribly. “sorry, erm, you didn’t tell luke you were going anywhere tonight, did you?” i asked.
ryan raised his brow. “why would i have? he said he was gonna be staying at home anyways.” he shrugged. i raised my brow. “then who’s that over there?” i asked, pointing over his shoulder. ryan turned his head, locking his vision onto luke.
he turned his gaze back to me, wide eyed. “y/n i didn’t know he’d be here i’m so-” i waved it off. my small motion drew attention to me, luke looking my way. i locked eyes with him, not breaking eye contact.
ryan turned his head back to luke. he then saw ryan, his face going bright red. he pulled away from the girl he was dancing with, going to the bar.
i excused myself before going to the bathroom. i stood at the counter, splashing water on my face. i made sure not to mess up my makeup, wiping my face dry. the door opened, his tall figure standing in front of me. he closed the door quickly, locking it so no one else could get it.
“real classy, sneaking into the women’s room, luke.” i rolled my eyes as i looked at him. “you and i both know its not the first time.” he remarked, walking towards me.
he pushed me against one of the stall doors, hands on either side of my head. “why are you here?” he spoke lowly, staring into my eyes.
“needed to get out and do something for once. ryan offered to bring me out. guess your alibi didn’t work this time, huh?” i asked. he scoffed, bringing his face closer to mine.
“we can never be friends, can we?” he spoke, his eyes glancing down to my lips before meeting my gaze again. i shrugged, smirking up at him. “fuck it.” he said before kissing me roughly.
his tongue met mine, swirling around in each others mouths. he grabbed my thighs, wrapping my legs around his waist. my dress hoisted to my hips when he did so, exposing my ass, as i wasn’t wearing underwear. he quickly found that out once grabbing me.
he smirked against my lips, brining me to the countertop. “expect to get some tonight?” he teased, his hands going between my thighs. i rolled my eyes.
“yeah, didn’t think it would be you, though.” i grumbled. he chuckled darkly. “oh please, you act like you don’t want me.” i bit my lip as his hands went for his belt.
“shut up” i mumbled, watching him pull down his jeans. i tried to clench my thighs together once i saw the sight of his cock peeking out from the waistband of his boxers.
“wanna say that again, brat?” he said, pushing my thighs open wide. i let my head fall back against the mirror. i shook my head quickly. “no sir.”
‘that’s what i thought.” he pulled down his boxers, lining his cock up with my entrance. i let out a breathy moan as he pushed into me, his pace quick and steady. i clenched around him, feeling every vein in his cock. my jaw fell slack as i took him in fully.
my eyes rolled back, making him slap my face. “look at me while i’m fucking you, y/n. i know you haven’t forgotten my rules, so fucking follow them.” i whimpered as i opened my eyes, looking into his.
he smirked at me, watching me try and keep my eyes open. he stuck his thumb in my mouth, my lips wrapping around his finger as if it were his cock. i moved my tongue how he liked when i would give him head, causing him to groan.
“fuckin hate how much i love this.” he tilted back his head, swallowing hard. his brow furrowed as his thumb pulled from my mouth, grabbing my hips tightly. his movements became quicker, but rather than feeling rushed, they felt almost filled with love.
i tried not to think about it, tried to remember that this is just one last time together. his teeth sinks into the flesh of my neck, sucking slightly and running tongue over the marks he’d left. i moaned at the sensation, my nails clawing at his back.
“getting close, lu.” i moaned, speaking the nickname i had given him when we were together. he whined at my words, pushing himself deep inside me, massaging my breasts through my dress.
“fuck, cum for me beautiful, come on.” he breathed. his tone had changed from hateful to kind within a matter of seconds. my heart fluttered as i released all over his cock.
he groaned as i tightened around him, causing him to pull out, finishing on my thigh. i kept my arms wrapped around his neck, keeping him close to my body. “guess we really never can be friends, huh?” he mumbled into my neck. i took in a deep breath, feelings the aching in my chest.
“guess not.” i sighed. he pulled back, pulling his jeans back up, situating himself. he helped me off the counter, pulling my dress back over my thighs. he grabbed my hands from where they were at my sides, brining them to his mouth, leaving soft kisses on each of them while looking into my eyes.
“as much as i hate that i saw you again, im real fuckin glad i did.” he whispered. i bit the inside of my cheek, watching his guilt filled eyes. “six months feels like hell when im away from you. will you try this again with me?” he asked.
my eyes welled with tears as i bit my lip. “you haven’t changed, luke. i know you haven’t,” i looked down at our feet. “you just want to bring back the past and hold on to what you lost.”
he shook his head, pulling me into his chest. “i’ve thought about you every minute of the day, y/n. i mean it. i mean, fucks sake i said your name when i kissed another girl. she kicked me out immediately when i had to explain that you’re my ex. i want this. i want you.” he begged, his eyes looking down at me, brimming with tears.
“i need time to think.” i whispered, blinking away the tears. he nodded, kissing the top of my head. i pulled away from him, grabbing the door handle.
“how about we go back to your house and get pizza? watch movies on the couch?” i asked, turning around to meet his gaze.
his eyes were wide. he nodded his head, quickly following me out of the bathroom.
i knew we could never be friends, we’d only ever be in love with each other.

Thank you once again for your kindness and your request, I hope you enjoy part 2, I actually condensed it a little and I think it's more effective this way.

You have to cover your mouth to suppress the scream that threatened to escape it. Luke had dragged his aching cock through you wetness, hitting it against your clit more times than you could handle, and you honestly start to wonder if he’ll enter you at all. Ever the performer, he had to build it up, show you every trick in the book he had learned in hopes that one day he’d be able to give them to you. As you start to relax, tensions in your body lessening, Luke’s lips crash against yours catching your gasp as he slides inside you. You grip the sheets at the intrusion, although welcome and certainly invited, the burn from the size of him was something you weren’t equipped for. Sure, you’d been wet for him, relaxed enough to take most men, but Luke was built different. You needed to adjust.
He stills his hips, hands on either side of your face supporting his weight as not to push himself in any further until you were ready for it. His lips were pursed as if he were about to whistle or something but the only sound that did occur, was the soft puffs of air, the rapid breathing technique you’d seen him use to calm his nerves. He was extremely nervous after all. He also just needed to hide the panting. He couldn’t bear the thought of showing you how close his thread was to snapping. He needed to stay strong, what use was he if he lost his cool the second he felt your warmth engulfing him. “Are you nervous Lu?” Your little hands reach out to touch him, sliding over his shoulders, rubbing them encouragingly. Even the silky smoothness of your voice had him fighting to hold on.
“Of course, I’m fucking nervous.” He leans down to kiss you, hopefully to hide it, a smile forming on his lips the moment he reminds himself this is still happening and it’s not some dream of his. He’s actually allowed to kiss you now, any time he thought about it, he simply could. As he kisses you softly, a cool metal drags across your chest, chills climbing the length of your body in waves. His chain was dragging across you. Butterflies begin to erupt in your stomach, and he must feel them. He’s so deep, buried in the pits of your tummy that he must have known them, met them there.
When he retracts his lips, you’re met with a look on his face that you’d never seen before, not in this context anyway. He was smiling, mouth wide, cheeks burning and bunching under his eyes, dimples sinking into his smile lines. “I finally got the girl.” You want to snort with laughter at the cheesiness of his remark, but it pleased such a sweet little portion of your mind that you couldn’t bear to mock him for it. You were glad it was a long time coming for the both of you.
“What are you going to do with your prize?” Your lips hover over his as you wait patiently for his turn. He’s sweating to death as he holds himself in place, he has to do something about that. “Fuck you silly.” He mutters with confidence before pushing his hips down to press right up against yours. “Shit, fuck Luke.” You can’t even begin to describe how full you had felt. When he finally bottomed out and his pelvis was flush against your own, that overflowing, full to the brim feeling made you want to cry. You might have cried. He’d felt thick and long in your mouth but in your cunt, even more so. His cock brushed up against something deep within you, pressing your nerves of pleasure, coaxing another orgasm out of you.
You felt so awful for Ashton in the room next door. There was no way he didn’t hear you gasping for air, gagging for the rough torture of your best friends hips ricocheting off yours. Luke knew he’d have some explaining to do the next morning but for now, he needed to make you his, really his. Your legs were wrapped so tightly around his waist that you clung to him, feet digging into his back to push him in deeper while also lifting your back from the ground. Your hips angle upwards when he urges the position switch, and you feel so euphoric you can scarcely breathe. “Feel you squeezing me again.” His nails are digging into the flesh of your hips, latching onto you with a strength that would bruise you for weeks. “Feel so fucking good.” He pecks your lips. “So good for me.”
“Want you to forget bout her.” You whine into his ear. “No one can get you like this Luke, no one but me.” He whimpers at your words, nodding his head along with you but it’s not enough for you. “Tell me, you have to say it.” He looks you dead in the eyes, his hips rolling slowly into you as he holds you close, forehead resting against yours. “You were fucking made for me.” Considering how out of breath he’d been before; his words are steady and serious. “It’s always been you, only one for me.” You weren’t sure what you expected from him, but it certainly wasn’t that. You linger under his gaze just a few seconds longer before throwing your lips on his.
You kiss him more, chasing his mouth every time he dared to dodge you. He didn’t do it because he disliked kissing you or anything, it was quite the opposite. Your tongue stroking his, flicking inside his mouth, licking into it in the gentle but familiar way that only you could. With the additional taste of his cock still lingering on it, that would have him finished in seconds. He needed just a few moments longer. Just enough time to get you there first, he needed to feel you come on him this time. “How’s it feel?” He makes more forceful ruts against you, skin slapping hard. “So- so- fuck, so good, oh god.” He throws himself down, body draping over you but leaving enough room for him to continue his assault on your pussy, riding you for dear life.
He fucks into you so hard you squeak out in response. He’d knocked the air from your lungs. Filled you so good, tightly packed inside you, feeling so familiar and sweet, being welcomed home to where he belonged. Where he’d always belonged but just never known it for certain until this moment. “Luke, baby.” You cry with urgency, arms tightening around his shoulders while he fucked up into you enough to destroy any innocence you’d ever had or may have again.
“Baby I’m-“ He keeps his pace, nodding in acknowledgement of your warning. “Cum for me, cum again baby, let me feel you.” Your head rolls back while you feel yourself constricting around him. “Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, Luke.” Your eyes snap shut, mouth contorting, widening with wonder. “That’s it, let it go.” He’s pecking kisses over your cheeks an exacts juxtaposition to the way his thrusts never faltered their pace. He’s never felt anything like this before. He felt weightless, free, he felt all the positive emotions someone could feel. The feeling of you releasing around him had rendered him invincible.
You tried your hardest to focus on him as he chased his own finish. Considering you’d edged him along nicely earlier, he’d certainty put that in the past, no longer affected by the deprivation of his orgasm, just powering through as if he’d never been at his limit at all. You on the other hand were so dead set on getting him where he needed to be, feeling so much sympathy at his lack of and ending that you tried everything to help him, determined still to be the best he’d ever had. Even if he had absolutely no doubt in his mind already that you were exactly that.
“Do me a favour?” He stared at you in disbelief, unsure if he could trust what his ears had heard. “Now? Can’t it wait?” He says attempting to stop gritting his teeth. You kissed him briefly before shaking your head, teeth sinking into your bottom lip for just a second while you attempted to phrase your next sentence. “Want you to take me from behind Luke.” He blinks rapidly a few times, just to make sure he’s actually heard that. Not because he’s shocked by the request, he’d always loved that position, loved you begging for it even more so. He just honestly didn’t think you could get any more perfect for him, and then you did. “Use me, please Luke please.” You started pleading for his sake, never imagining it would be the push he needed to dissipate the loving side of him and bring out the feral.
He pulled out, groaning at the loss and the effort it took to flip you over. You go to set yourself on all fours to offer yourself back to him. Your back arched with your ass sticking out, your front half leaning on your hands. Luke decides he didn’t need you on all fours, he just pushes you back down, face first into the cushions, your pelvis and legs flattening down too. You were lay on your stomach, Luke not giving a damn if you could breathe or not. You can breathe when he’s done, even if you feel you may never breathe again because you’d surely died and gone to heaven. You feel your whole body tingling with anticipation. You already missed his fullness, first fearing to take it now dreading being without. You try to encourage his return, reaching behind you to lift your cheeks, spreading them and your thighs a little beneath him. You put on a show for him. Showed him how needy you still were, even after he’d wrecked you.
Luke’s legs are situated on either side of yours, his front lowered to encase you, necklace once again dangling against your dampened skin but this time on your back. He spreads your ass himself, batting your hands away. He creates enough of a gap to slip down into you again, this time you felt unbelievable, even more so than the last time. You were so fucking tight he may as well have been getting suctioned into you. “So, fucking big.” You cry when he moves, rocking carefully into you for both your sakes. He knew the angle could damage you if he weren’t careful, but you were so irresistible. Such a sweet, wet little hole for him. “You can move, don’t be shy, I can take it.” He arches his brow, not quite believing you since the shakiness in your voice was hard to ignore but he needed to move. He had to or else he’d wreck himself prematurely in this new position.
He pushes in and out of you, gradually gaining speed, hands both finding their way to grip your hips, pulling you to meet his thrusts but also bleeding you dry as he clawed at your delicate skin. “Fuck, fuck.” You are so broken, voice fading, words starting to lack sense. You made so much noise it was impossible to tell if you’d had a coherent thought at all in the last 20 minutes. He’s not giving up though, his cock was almost there, twitching from the base, balls ready to drain into you. “Baby.” He tried to catch your attention, you’re so fucked out, he’s treating you like a rag-doll, ramming himself into you so hard you might never walk again. “Baby, need you with me.” He’s being vulnerable, he needs to reach you, wants to hear your sweet voice, needs your kindness, needs your love. As nice as it was to have his way with you, reducing you to a moaning mess beneath him, he needed a stronger connection to send him over the edge.
“I’m here, right here.” You lift your head the best you can, turning your head back to catch his eyes. His hair was so sweaty, his curls had slicked back flat. His cheeks, whole face and even his chest was rose tinted. His eyes found yours with a kindness you wanted to smother yourself in. “So close.” He softens his words, his thrusts too, not enough to let you catch a break but enough to show it wasn’t just fucking anymore. It was much more than that.
“Let go for me.” You encourage. He’s whimpering, hands kneading your skin, hips rocking, breath catching, cock pulsing and throbbing against your walls. “Fuck I’m done, I’m cumming, oh my god.” He brings a fist up to his mouth for him to bite down onto for the sake of the other guests in the hotel as he fucked himself into the strongest orgasm he’d ever known. He repeats your name over and over like a sacred prayer under his breath and you melt at the melody of it. “Feel fucking amazing, fuck.” The warm spurts of his cum within you are a welcome sensation, it made you his, well and truly. You didn’t want him to pull away, wanted to revel in the feeling of him stilling inside you, even as he curses while catching his breath.
He goes to pull himself away, stroking over your back to brace you both but you stop him, covering his hand with your own the best you could. “Baby I’m so spent.” He tries to argue, knowing there wasn’t a chance in hell he’d get hard enough for another round anytime soon. “Shh, sh just stay here a little while.” It soon registers in his head what your request actually meant. You just wanted to feel him, have the closeness without it being all the way sexual. His heart warmed at your neediness to continue feeling full of him.
“Can we lie together first?” He tries to persuade you, his body so achy and tired, he’d love nothing more than to curl up with you for hours. You allow him to remove himself, his cock dragging free from the warmth of your pussy, his finish leaking from you messily. You whine at the loss of him that you’d now grown accustomed to, but you enjoy the slow drip of his cum that begins to trickle from your entrance. You beg him to hurry, to scoop you up in his arms and return to you, laying beside you, his chest against your back, arms tight around your waist.
He falls into the position of big spoon, brushing your hair across your neck allowing him to press sweet kisses along your newly exposed shoulder. You sink down onto his softening length and feel satisfied with the knowledge that he was still larger than average even then. “Feel so right for me.” You start your journey, letting your hand run across your own hips, walking them down until you met his own hand, linking your fingers immediately, sighing with relief that you were connected there, as if you could never have enough contact with him.
“Told you.” He whispers against your ear, a hot flush spreading from the area like a rash. “You’re gonna need me all the time now, you know why?” You’re too sleepy to make the guesses he wants you to, but you indulge him in the small ways you can manage. “Why?” You fight a yawn after asking, he finds it adorable. His lips press into your shoulder once more and you feel his lips switching from a smile to a smirk before he grazes you playfully with his teeth. You wish he’d lose the busy of energy he suddenly gained, he was getting too confident again, needed knocking down a peg or two, even if you knew you were the cause of his happiness, it was ridiculous that he wasn’t tired.
“Told you your pussy was mine.” His hot breath accompanying the filthy words he’d spoken, had your cunt fluttering around him the moment he referred to it. “Knows who it belongs to now, never yours again babe.” You saw no sense in arguing with him, not when there was absolutely no word of a lie in the things he said. You start squirming around, but he holds you tight, nowhere to escape, leaving you to lie there and accept it. He was so correct. So right, you’d say he’d been made for you from day one. No one else could compare. No one else could make you wait so long only to feel so fucking impeccable the moment you finally had him. There was absolutely no slither of doubt in your mind, your pussy was never yours, it was always meant to be his. It didn’t matter that anyone else came before you, you were it from now on, his only one. And you’d have no problem reminding him of that as soon as you had some rest.

Waste a Night Pt 4
I Luke Hemmings x y/n
Ok so it’s been over two years since I have written the first three chapters, and it’s only right that I finish this story.
Smut* angst* fluff
Y/n is sure that spending anymore time with Luke will just end in misery, so she takes the cowards way out the back door. Fortunately Luke isn’t going to let her Waste the Night.
Y/n feels the cool air hit her face when she opens the door to the back alley, the door slamming shut behind immediately. “Fuck” she breathed out not the smartest move she thinks as she is grabbing her phone out of her back pocket. “Way to go dumbass your in a dark alley alone and you have t even ordered an Uber yet! Once again you fucked up!” She whisper yells at herself.
A chuckle has her snapping her head to the right. “ Well Y/n. I didn’t expect to see you of all people out her arguing with yourself.” A smirk plastered on his face.
“Oh god. Please tell me I’m hallucinating, someone slipped something in my drink. Anything just don’t make me really be seeing him.”y/n spit out. She was nervous, unsettled it seemed like he knew he was going to find her out here, he must have been here tonight and she was just to wrapped up in Luke to notice.
“So beautiful where is your Little Rock star, hmmm?” “Jordan go away im not in the mood for you.” Y/n says turning away from him and trying to bring up the Uber app on her phone.
“But it’s been so long sweetheart, don’t you want to talk to me?” The hairs on the back of her neck were standing up he had moved considerably closer to her and it was making her uncomfortable. “Don’t call me that!” Y/n hissed at him. She hated him calling her that once it was a cute pet name then he only used it when he was putting her down or making her feel stupid.
“So I guess your fuckboy got tired of you, hmm seems I’m the only person who can actually put up with your pathetic ass.” He snickered at her. This is what he did always did to her made her doubt herself she had worked so hard she couldn’t let him break her down again.
Jordan moved closer to her almost like he was stalking towards her like she was prey. “Maybe I’ll just take you home since “fuckboy” ditched you.” Y/n backed up “NO!” She yelled at him “I’m not going anywhere with you.” Jordan just chuckled “yeah beautiful days who?”
Suddenly the back door swings open “Says me the fuckboy rock star.” Luke seethes as he jumped down the steps landing right next to y/n. “Oh come on you don’t really want to waste your time on some small time bitch.” Jordan spit. Luke smiled at Jordan as he walked closer it was easy to see Luke towered over the guy.
“I’m gonna take my girl back in the club and have a good time.” He turned to y/n “Ready baby, everyone is waiting inside?” Y/n could only nod did Luke really just save her from her asshole ex. Yeah she thinks he did wtf maybe she needs to give Luke a chance, really what could it hurt she thinks as Luke links their hands and leads her back in the club.
The rest of the night was a blur, she knows for sure Luke asked her to come to dinner tomorrow with Lily at the place they were staying for a barbecue and swimming. Y/n agreed and of course Lily did!
When the boys were dropping them off at y/n’s with promises of getting Lilys car back to her tomorrow. Luke walked her to the door.
Y/n smiled up at him and thanked him for everything he did for her. He only hums as he brings his hands up and cups her face and slowly brings her in for a searing kiss, y/n if half dazed as he chuckles a little and puts a little peck on her nose, then forehead followed by one more quick peck to her lips. “I’ll see you tomorrow, we’ll actually.” He stopped an looked at his watch, “make that later today. Bye baby, bye Lily nice meeting you.” He called and got back into the suv.
Both girls stood dazed on the porch for a few minutes before y/n shook her head grabbed lilies jacket an drug her in the house with her.
Fuck she was going out with Luke tomorrow and we’ll she already knew Lily was walking on clouds maybe this won’t be to bad, He’s nice, hot and an amazing kisser. Her mind goes right to gutter thinking what else he’s good at.
Now all she knows is she needs to go shopping for a bikini that will make Luke loose his mind.

Luke had been following you around like a lost puppy ever since he got back from touring. He was there when you woke up to the time you went to sleep, he wanted to do everything together.
One day, he wasn't as attentive as he had been for the last few days, he wasn't in bed creepily staring at you when you woke up.
Odd.
You get up to go find your Luke, trotting down the hallway and down the stairs and around the area until you find Luke in the kitchen, making waffles.
"Hey, whatcha got there?" You ask Luke as you walk up behind him, wrapping your arms around his torso.
"Waffles!" He grins, "they're your favorite, figured you haven't had some since I left."
"You're right," you smile and peer around his shoulder to look up at him, "only you make 'em the best."
"Oh! I even got whipped cream-"
"Stop simping for me you simp." You giggle, "ever since you got home I've been treated as royalty."
"All I did was get ya whipped cream!" Luke argues, "m'not simping. Yes, I'm so in love with you that I even remembered the whipped cream, but, I'm not a simp."

vulnerable l.h. - cologne
At a particularly loud clack, Luke looked over to Calum and Seph, who had been dominating the air hockey table. For a college town on a Friday, the bar wasn’t so busy, although that didn’t mean much, since most of the seats at the bar had been taken by groups of people hanging out. Luckily for them, the majority of their group was well over average height and wore varying levels of threatening expressions, so they’d had their respective games to themselves.
Luke leaned against the bar, keeping Calum and Seph’s drinks company, nursing his own. Michael, Ashton, and Priya had gone to play skee ball across the room with someone from one of Priya’s classes.
Priya hurried over, followed shortly by Ashton and Michael almost as soon as Calum and Seph had finished their fifth game. Calum won, again, as he had the past two rounds. Priya leaned over to whisper something to her roommate, which the latter agreed with, and the two girls were gone quickly.
“Where’re they going?” Calum asked, taking a sip of the soda Luke handed him. The group had considered trying to get actual drinks, but figured a college bar, no matter how old they looked, they were all going to get carded. Michael and Seph definitely would have, either way. They both looked nineteen and no older, and had even gotten ID’d at the entrance to the bar.
Michael shrugged, settling into a seat at the end of the bar, next to Luke. “Priya just said ‘girl stuff’.” He said, adding quotation marks with his fingers. “They’ll probably be a while.”
Suddenly finding themselves with nothing to talk about, the boys fell into an awkward silence, trading glances among themselves, taking sips of their respective drinks. Calum and Michael seemed oblivious to the strange tension that existed between the four of them, but Luke and Ashton weren’t.
“So, Ashton, how do you know Michael and Seph?” Calum asked, taking a long, awkward sip from his soda.
His attempt to break the silence fell flat when Ashton shoved off of the bar, brushing past Calum as he walked past. “I’m gonna go check on Seph.” He muttered right before he was out of earshot. Calum and Luke traded a glance, but the latter shrugged and returned to his drink.
Ashton and Priya returned, sharing a laugh over something Priya had on her phone, nearly tripping over one another as they made their way back to the bar. Seph followed shortly behind, seeming even more tired than she had been before, and Luke was keen to recognize the bags under her eyes. They didn’t seem very out of place, although he figured with how tired she had seemed in class most of the time, that they were.
“So, air hockey?” Calum asked, once Seph had taken a long sip of her drink. He nodded eagerly towards the table, leaning against the bar, almost directly between her and Ashton.
Seph offered the slightest of grins, rubbing her under eyes gently. “I would, but I think I just need to recuperate for a minute. Why don’t you play Ash? He taught me everything I know.” She suggested, seemingly ignoring the frantic glare her friend shot her from over Calum’s shoulder.
Spinning around to Ashton, Calum grinned and took the other boy by the shoulders, steering him towards the table, despite Ashton’s refusal. Michael and Priya agreed upon yet another round of skeeball, both making their way back to the machines. That left Luke and Seph, who hadn’t even acknowledged each other since dinner.
Luke didn’t even realize that Seph hadn’t gone with her brother until something pressed against the back of his shoulder. He turned slightly to find Seph, who had been facing away from him, so their backs were nearly pressing against one another’s, with her head tilted all the way back, leaning against his shoulder, apparently napping. With a chuckle, he readjusted, lifting her head and dropping it once so she rested against his arm, almost exactly the way she had earlier that day. Seph didn’t stir during the interaction until she was situated against Luke’s arm, sighing and nuzzling into it, clearly unaware of her actions.
The girl who leaned against Luke’s arm was gently snoring, one cheek pressed into the boy next to her, lifting her lip just enough to reveal white teeth. Her front teeth jutted out just slightly over her bottom teeth, despite the obvious signs she’d worn braces. Her nose was the same as her brother’s, save for the small white scar just below the bridge of her nose that contrasted with her tanned skin. For such a tired girl, and with the skin tone of her brother, Luke would have expected her to be much paler, but Seph was gorgeously sunkissed.
“Is she sleeping?” Ashton asked, unusually quiet, in the lull between games. He had crept over to sit next to Luke, who jumped at his question. “If you want, I can take her home.”
Luke turned to Ashton, trying not to disturb the slumbering figure on his other side. “It’s all good, not bothering me.” His arm was falling asleep, but no one needed to know that. “You can go back to your game.” He continued, waving his hand toward Calum, who was staring intently at the air hockey table.
With a cautious, nearly poisonous look, Ashton turned away, draining his soda and dropping the glass on the bar with a thud. He cast one more look over his shoulder to Luke, who had already turned away in favor of glancing at the girl who slept against him.
The pair at the bar looked surprisingly good together, although no one doubted that anyone in their group was attractive. Seph and Luke had one of the more dramatic height differences – although not as dramatic as the foot between Luke and Priya – but her head was the perfect height to press into his arm.
It wasn’t long before raised voices came from the air hockey table, but Luke didn’t very much care to listen in. Calum and Ashton had been butting heads all night, over some issue Ashton took up, but Calum seemed oblivious to his dislike. Luke figured the arguing was just them getting it out of their system.
“You knew we had to leave early.” Ashton was practically shouting as the pair walked past Luke and Seph. “I asked for the time.”
Calum was following shortly behind the other boy, sighing. “I told you the time. How is this my fault?”
Ashton snapped around, eyes narrowing both at Calum and the couple at the bar, the latter of whom he hadn’t noticed were still in the same position. “It just,” He waved his hands fervently. “Whatever, let’s go.”
“We’re going.” Ashton said, laying a hand on Seph’s shoulder as Michael handed his card to the bartender. “C’mon, Squish.”
Unlike earlier, Seph was quick to blink awake, blue eyes blinking open suddenly, just as quickly as she sat up and brought her hand to her cheek. Her cheeks were red, but just as she opened her mouth to apologize, Ashton yanked her off of the barstool by her wrist.
“Ash, what’s the matter?” She mumbled through a yawn, stumbling over her own feet as Ashton dragged her behind him, following Priya and Michael, who were rushing towards the bus stop. Bringing up the rear was Calum and Luke, speaking lowly to one another as they practically ran to catch up with the group.
Despite it being midnight, the downtown was alive with people, so much so that they were dodging others in their rush to the bus stop. At a particularly sharp turn around a highly populated beer garden, a large, rather drunk guy slammed straight into Seph, knocking her into Luke, where he quickly caught her by the shoulders. By the time both of them had shaken off the confusion, Ashton and Calum had disappeared around the building, and were nowhere to be found.
“Oh, fuck, I’m so sorry.” Another very drunk guy muttered, spilling himself and his beer over Seph as he followed a group of his friends. He didn’t even seem to notice the lack of beer in his cup as he raised it in a celebratory shout and followed his friends.
Unspeaking, Luke grabbed Seph’s hand, sweeping her under his arm to lead the pair away from the bar, and back towards where they had come from. The bus stop they had been heading for was lined with bars, likely to be surrounded by similar incidents that neither of them really wanted to deal with.
“Are you okay?” Luke asked, once they had safely found sanctuary next to a print shop, ducking down to inspect Seph’s shirt, doused in alcohol. “That guy barely even apologized.” He muttered, scowling at the mess.
Seph stifled a yawn, plucking at the shirt, although she seemed mostly nonplussed about the incident. “It’s f-” Her eyes finally met Luke, widening almost instantly. “Why are you taking your shirt off?”
With another scowl, Luke finished pulling off his jacket and tossed it to the girl, rolling his eyes. “Please, princess, this isn’t a peep show. It’s cold out.”
“It’s, like, seventy degrees.”
“Shut up and put the jacket on.”
She didn’t complain further, only obeyed, slipping the jacket over her shoulders and tightening the fabric around her waist. Seph wasn’t so small, but Luke’s shoulders were broad, so the jacket hung off of her in a way that had her shoving the sleeves up to reveal her hands. “What’re we gonna do? The next bus is in, like, forty minutes.”
Luke didn’t really have a plan when he pulled Seph away, but the bus was almost certainly gone, and there was little chance of their friends waiting for the blondes. “Walking, I guess.”
“Walking?” Seph echoed in a much smaller voice, peering up at Luke like he was crazy. “It’s a twenty minute walk through Greek row at midnight on a friday. I wouldn’t go through there even if I was your height and a hundred pounds heavier.” There had been multiple instances of her walking back through the neighborhood that laid between campus and downtown that ended with a punch and Michael bailing her out of trouble with a frat.
The boy said nothing for a moment, although he started towards the heavily tree-lined streets of the neighborhood just south of the buildings. “No need to worry, princess. No one fucks with me.”
True to his word, Seph’s normal encounters were nowhere in the realm of what they experienced. They were approached by the occasional drunken party-goer who recognized Luke, but he didn’t stray.
The moonlight made Luke’s eyes look grey, flashing as they met the streetlights. Seph could make out the smallest imperfection on the left side of his lower lip. It was a scar she was very familiar with, since she shared the same mark.
“Can I ask you something?” Seph asked, breaking the peaceful quiet the pair had fallen into. Her arms came around herself to quell the shiver that ran down her back. The sigh that followed seemed like permission to continue, so she did. “What’s with Princess? I have a name.”
Luke cracked the slightest of grins, lips curling to one side as he looked down at Seph. “What, you’re not into it?” He paused, catching Seph by the wrist just before she brushed past him, and spinning her to face him. “At least zip up the jacket.” He muttered, mostly to himself, as he zipped up the jacket.
“I didn’t say that.” The blonde girl muttered, cheeks reddening. She couldn’t quite figure Luke out, and was sure that was just the way he preferred it. Still, Seph enjoyed the company, and for the first time, she didn’t have the urge to start running when someone stumbled out of a house.
Seph wasn’t a violent person, but there was just something so punchable about a frat guy. And Luke.
She’d heard the name before. Hemmings was an infamous whisper amongst the dining halls, of whatever he and Hood had been doing the night before. Upperclassmen friends she made would warn her away from anyone with an H last name.
Despite her friend’s warnings, Seph couldn’t help the way her cheeks warmed when Luke glanced down at her with that grin. But she’d always been a proximity person, and she chalked the fluttering in the depths of her stomach up to the fragrant depth of Luke’s cologne that flooded her senses. It was mild, not too heavy, which she appreciated, and she hadn’t even noticed it until she was wearing his jacket.
His demeanor was entirely different to how he had been in class. It wasn’t that he was any less confident, but he kept his head down in class, and didn’t say much. He had friends, quite talkative ones, that he enjoyed the company of in class, people Seph didn’t like to associate with, but he wasn’t much for speaking. However, it was a stark difference to the confident way he greeted people and carried himself while they made their way down the pavement.
He fit right in on Greek row.
“So, what does-”
“Luke!”
Luke scowled at the interruption, spinning around to find the source of the exclamation, brow knitting when his eyes finally fall on the person. Under the streetlight that shadows his features, he can’t see the figure very well, but that problem is quickly solved by their emergence into the light.
This girl is gorgeous.
Long legs that seemed to go on forever in the skirt she wore, beautifully golden, compliment the blonde ends of her dark hair and white smile. “Lu, I didn’t realize you were around. You should’ve said hi.”
“Just passing by. This your party?” He nodded towards the house she had come from, alive with a loud party that would definitely fizzle out in a few hours after a noise complaint.
The girl’s cheeks seem to redden as she tucks a lock of hair behind her ear, tittering nervously. “Uh, yeah, not mine. Sneaky link, you know how it is.” The two shared a soft chuckle, apparently recalling their own, before the girl’s dark eyes fall to Seph, who couldn’t look more nervous. “You’re cute. I’m Mya.”
“Seph.”
“Oh, you know, when I was in high school, I had this freshman. Her name was something like Steph, but it wasn’t quite.” Mya exclaimed excitedly, turning her attention to Seph completely. “You know, Steph, you look a lot like her.”
“Seph.” Luke corrected, nudging Mya gently to hammer the point home. “Her name’s Seph.”
There was a beat of silence before Mya squealed and spun back to Seph. “Ohmygod, did you go to Rainer High in Toulouse?” Seph barely had the time to nod before Mya was pulling her into a bone-crushing hug. “Girl! It’s been too long.” She suddenly gasped and pulled back, holding the shorter girl at arm’s length. “Sephie, didn’t we tell you to never go home with the tall ones with pretty eyes? I know they’re cute, but it never goes well.” She leaned in, although she didn’t lower her voice, so Luke heard everything. “Believe me, this one definitely isn’t worth it.”
With an affronted look, Luke cocked his head to the side, scowling at his friend as he pulled her away by the back of the bralette she wore. “Alright, you. This has been nice, but I think Seph’s brother will kill me if we don’t head back soon.”
“Oh, right, you’re Michael Clifford’s sister, right?” Michael was much more known around the town than Seph was. She didn’t have the time to go to nearly as many parties as he did, but she definitely had him beat in the theater department. “And Ashton Irwin! They were always nice.” Mya paused, slinking after Luke as he started to walk away with Seph under his arm. “For boys. You know, Sephie, if you wanted a hookup, I know a lot nicer guys.”
“We’re not-”
“Mya, we’re not hooking up. I’m walking her home.”
Mya’s expression soured as she slipped off her heels to carry them, catching up with the blonde pair. Without heels, she was shorter, although she was still taller than Seph, albeit, not by much. “Like hell you are. Sephie, never let boys know where you live.”
Despite the way Luke glanced down in a silent question if Seph was done with Mya’s presence, Seph giggled at her old friend’s proclamations, filing each of them under the other advice she’d been given. “I’ll keep it in mind. Luke, I can go home from here.” She muttered, just as they approached the greenhouses on the edge of campus, poking Luke gently in the ribs, in case he hadn’t heard her.
“Like hell you are.” Luke said, glancing up at Mya, who giggled at his echo. “Do you realize how much Michael will hurt me if I let you walk home alone?”
“Luke, I’ll be fine, it’s a ten minute walk-”
“Plus she won’t be alone,”
“Yeah, exact- wait, what?”
Mya scoffed, as if the question was dumb in of itself, but she just as easily slung her arm around Seph’s shoulders, to drag her along. “You never let boys know where you live. You also never walk home alone. That’s what sisters are for.” She added with a jostle of Seph’s shoulders.
Rationally, Seph knew that she should call Ashton and have her meet him halfway, which would avoid the worst-case scenario of both options, but something told her to trust Mya. Maybe it was the way that she smelled the exact same as the entire cheer team used to, a group of some of the sweetest and best friends Seph had ever known. It might’ve been her infectious smile that made Seph want to grin instantly.
“Yeah, okay.” She admitted, sweeping a lock of soft blonde hair over her own shoulder. “Luke, I’ll see you in class?”
Apprehension was written across Luke’s face, but he nodded after brief hesitation. His blue eyes searched Seph’s for any second thoughts, but apparently finding none, he took a step away from the girls, running a hand through his loose curls. “Tomorrow. Do you have my phone number?”
“I’ll get it from Mikey.”
Still hesitant, Luke nodded, slowly, taking another step away. “My, text me when you drop her off and when you get home.”
“Goodbye, Lu.”
“Bye, Mya.” He lowered his gaze to Seph, waiting for her gentle nod to take another step away and spin around. “Tomorrow, Princess.”
Both Mya and Seph waited for Luke to lumber around the corner to turn back around and continue towards the dorms, not turning until they saw his tall figure disappear from the road it had been cast on.
“Okay, Seph. You have to fill me in on everything.”
Seph hadn’t realized she still wore Luke’s jacket until she burrowed into it and found a surprisingly pleasant whiff of the cologne she’d become a big fan of.
