Bdubs’ “SCAR IS TRYING TO MAKE US ALL FURRIES” thing in his video surprised me so much that I instantly had to pause the video and sketch it. I hope you enjoy my hermit furry alignment chart as well. A little boatem knights au writing for Scar's birthday!

Scar woke up a year older, and as it had been with the last few centuries, things were unchanged. The sun was shining (which brought with it the leafy scent of Mumbo's sunscreen), the birds were chirping, and Scar stepped out of his tent to greet the day.

He walked out to a very different sight than what he had expected.

“Surprise!”

Standing there were the knights, Cub, Jimmy, and Tango, who had clearly just been rushing around preparing... this. The camp was covered in mismatched decorations, trinkets likely taken from Grian's treasure hoard (with great reluctance from the avian, Scar imagined) strewn about the camp, shining when the light caught them.

Scar blinked, looking around at everyone. “Huh– what's this? What are you doing here?”

Impulse grinned. “Well, I was with Cub the other day and he just so happened to mention that it was your birthday today! So I told the others, and we grabbed Cub and Jimmy and Tango to help celebrate!”

“It's because no one here can bake to save their lives,” Jimmy explained, “and they wanted a cake.”

Mumbo held out the, to be quite frank, monstrosity on a plate. “Grian and I decorated!” he chirped, and Scar squinted at the near illegible frosting words.

“I wasn't here for this,” Pearl explained, “I was out getting decorations.”

“It says happy birthday Scar!” Grian told Scar, “and you can just ignore the redstone dust in the frosting, that's Mumbo's fault.”

Mumbo squeaked, eyes widening. “Look, I washed my hands! Very thoroughly!”

Cub chuckled, shaking his head. “Slight redstone ingestion never hurt anyone,” he pointed out, Mumbo, Impulse, and Tango nodding in agreement.

Scar beamed, holding his hands over his heart. His eyes shone with joy and barely held back tears. “Why, you all are so sweet! This is absolutely amayzin', thank you so much!”

“I still think we should sing,” Pearl piped up, to a resounding, unanimous "no."

“You do not want me to sing,” Mumbo told her with a slight giggle.

“Or me,” Impulse added, scratching his head right behind his horns. “Not a good idea. Tango will tell you.”

Tango grinned, elbowing Impulse. “Oh, I absolutely will, buddy.”

Scar took the cake from Mumbo, his face hurting from how much he was smiling. “Thank you all so so much,” he said once more, sincerely. “This is– this is so nice!”

“Of course, Scar!” Grian's wings fluttered slightly from the excitement. “You're our friend! Of course we'd celebrate your birthday!” He leaned over, pointing at the red and green blobs of frosting on the cake. “And these are poppies, see? They're your favorite flower, I remembered you telling me!” He was so proud of himself for this, eyes shining as he bragged to Scar.

Scar gasped. “Oh wow, G! That's absolutely fantastic! I think we should go eat it now!”

“Count me out.” Jimmy backed away, his hands held up. “I live with this man. I've seen what redstone does to him.” He gestured at Tango with his head. “I refuse to take part in any of this.”

Tango laughed. “Your loss, buddy!”

Cub nodded, holding back a smile of his own. “More for the rest of us, then.”

Pearl wrapped an arm around Jimmy's shoulders. “Does poor Tim have a sensitive stomach?” she teased, to Jimmy's indignant squawking. “It's okay, mate! Nothing to be ashamed of!”

“I'm not–!” Jimmy splutttered, face turning a light shade of red. “Oh, my gosh. This is awful. Why do I come here?”

Grian hopped up to Jimmy, a coy grin on his face. “Because you love us, Timmy!”

Scar began walking to the eating area, carrying the cake with him. “C'mon, guys! This cake isn't gonna eat itself, y'know!”

The rest of the day was spent joking around with the knights and their friends, and eventually ended under the stars with a crackling bonfire.

Scar heaved out a contented sigh. “So. Have you guys given any more thought to matching uniforms?” he asked, and laughter broke out among the knights.

It was a good day.

One of my mother's clients is threatening to put her in jail for fraud for having fallen behind on some work, and international tax is suddenly on my father's ass about my dead grandpa's trust account years later. Their credit cards are maxxed out. We might lose the house.

My brother and I are both unemployed and entirely dependent on them. We have three pets. There are five people in this house that they feed. Everyone in this house has horrible medical problems.

And my grandmother (who lives with us) is dying. It has been a long time coming but I cannot really stomach the thought of it. She can hardly move anymore. She needs my brother's help to go to the toilet. She has been having horrible medical problems for years and it has just gotten so bad within the past few weeks. She is going to die within the next year and it is horrible. My father is having to watch as his only living parent dies. It is already taking such a toll on him.

If anyone is able to do any of the commissions, then I can help take some of the stress off of them. There's a lot of things I need for my health and wellbeing that they just cannot afford to give me right now. If I can pay for it myself, or at least need less money from them, then it would help so much.

It is horrible watching my family fall apart around me and be unable to even help around the house with chores.

Having a bit more monetary freedom, being able to reduce the financial burden on my family, would help so so much.

Yay!! Here's my nonhuman headcanons for everyone I watch!

Mumbo is an android! He's completely human-passing, he tends to do things the 'human way' (building things instead of modifying himself), and he has never ever mentioned that he's a robot, so everyone thinks that he's a really weird human. He does not know of human concepts like 'fear of death'. Nobody understands why he never got redstone poisoning despite his complete lack of PPE. It's just because he's not organic

Grian is a parrot avian ofc but he also gained cod-like traits when he started spending more time near the ocean. It happens

Gem was human at the start of the season, but she's an anglerfish hybrid now! Same reason as Grian

Doc being a creeper goat cyborg thing is canon so I'll share a little hc on his cybernetic enhancements. He can detect redstone signals! It allows him to locate problems with his machines without having to look around, saves a lot of time. A side effect of this is that he knows that Mumbo is an android because he can detect his redstone!

Etho is a phantom hybrid! He needs very little sleep and he still manages to be sleep deprived. He doesn't use fire res potions to protect himself from the sun, instead he wears his clothes over his wings. He says that it works perfectly, so why would he change it?

Tango. blaze. we all know this one. He doesn't take any special precautions around water. In fact, he forgets that water is a thing until it starts raining and then he screams really loud about it

Pearl is a shapeshifting salmon! She enjoys her human form, but she will correct anyone who calls her a human because she's actually a fish

Joel is a moth hybrid. Yes, he does like lights. Just look at his base!

Well Cub being a vex isn't exactly a headcanon is it. Specifically I hc that he used to be human and became a vex later on, while Scar was born a vex! (the cannibalism is unrelated to this. there's just something wrong with him)

Hehe of course! "If Etho was gonna run it then we can put all this on hold." I mean everyone's runs always come first to working on it but Etho's are the pure pure joy. Tango's smileeee when Etho says in chat he is here just to play it 🥹🥰

Of course Tango's hoping Etho's there just to hang and of course he'd drop everything for him. "Can't pass up Etho runs."

And of course that's all Etho came for! To play it on its first day back (and ask after T's vacation) 😊

And we especially win when Etho says things like, "Tango. You're never allowed to leave again!" with so much emotion 😂 And when Tango says things like, "I apologise for my inability to stop smiling" 🤗 Etho (Etho/Tango) runs are cheeks-hurting, perma-smile for everyone but especially for Tango xD

And Etho loves it he loves playing with Tango there. He loves the runs and he loves the back and forth with Tango and giggling at what Tango says. And he gives compliments to Tango (this time, "I gotta say, I'm really impressed with your card system in this game"). And always always tells Tango that it was so much fun 🩷

We do win these!! We win sooo much rn 😂 They're such a joy :') The amount of Etho Tango stream time at the moment is 💫✨🌟💖😊
