Please do halloween headcanons about Leon and Steven ^^
i am well aware that it is 1. past halloween and 2. ages since i last posted but i have been sick (i wasn’t even able to celebrate halloween ☹) and i am a spoopy bitch 365 days a year. plus it’s my blog goshdarnit!
anyways here’s some fun hcs! thanks anon!
Leon
Him and Sonia sed to bring Hop trick-or-treating around Postwick and Wedgehurst when they were younger
Nowadays Halloween is either a cosy affair at home or a party at a friend’s
Pro couple’s costumes HOWEVER you’ll have to organize it because he’s so busy
Partial to a slutty costume on you obvs, but also himself (AKA tits out!)
But not too slutty because he still has a family friendly image to uphold
Not that he’s really posting pictures from a party to his heavily curated social media
If you’re just staying at home, he probably won’t dress up (but will if you ask)
You’ll probably just snuggle up and eat sweets and watch spooky (but not really scary) movies
There aren’t really any children in his building so he doesn’t get many knocks from adorable kiddos on his door
BUT when you move somewhere more cosy and family-friendly
You KNOW it’s a full size chocolate bar house
Leon has a great time handing out sweets to the kids and complimenting their little costumes
Some of them dress up as him and his heart melts
Speaking of children
If you guys have kids you can bet your ass you’re doing a family costume!
Baby’s first Halloween is him in a Charizard onesie, you in a Charmeleon one and baby in a Charmander one
He will continue doing family costumes, even when you have moody teenagers who are "too cool" to dress up
Steven
Halloween wasn’t too much of a thing in his house growing up
But as an adult, he enjoys it a fair bit
He’s not really into the spooky/scary side of it, just likes the fun and cosy vibes (and all the chocolate)
Wallace probably throws an extravagant Halloween party every year, and you and Steven are definitely invited (dressing up is a MUST)
Steven’s Halloween costumes are quite elegant
And yes, he is very pro couple’s costumes too!
They typically involve Steven in a suit (old habits die hard lol)
You’ve been detectives, Indiana Jones style adventurers, a royal couple, space explorers, etc.
The scariest (and naturally, sexiest) costume was when you two went as classic, Victorian-era vampires
One year you went as your birthstones (aka just regular outfits in that colour, decorated with fake gems with matching makeup) and nobody had any idea what you were supposed to be and Steven was VERY aka mildly upset
Also a full size chocolate bar house
Mossdeep isn’t big, so you only get a couple trick-or-treaters every year
It’s good though, Steven is happy to chat with the little ones and the little ones are excited that the champion is chatting to them and giving them big ol’ sweeties
If you have kids, he will gladly bring them trick or treating
And take photos of the kiddos in their cute little outfits
HOWEVER he won’t dress up for it lol
One of your kids dressed up as geode four years in a row and Steven was never happier

It's that time for me again... time to make theoretical Pokemon teams for my characters based on vibes. (If you want to play with the team planner you can find it here!)
Reverie:
Tumblr media
Jigglypuff 'cuz she's a sleepy girl who likes to sing. Talonflame because her primary/favored element is fire and it makes me think of griffins a little. Mightyena because wolf. Swadloon because again, sleepy, look how cozy it is. Charizard, again, fire and I mean... dragons. Bewear because she is a great hugger, is cute, and has a mean left hook.
Rann:
Tumblr media
Gallade for the knight/protector vibes, Meowstic for being super powerful but literally called the constraint pokemon, Banette has always been a Rann pokemon for the creepy ghost doll vibes, Polteageist because, yanno, tea, Meowscarada for magey vibes, and Indeedee for the... whole emotion/serving thing they do.
Olivia:
Tumblr media
Galarian Rapidash for the fairy tale vibes (Olivia is the princess and the knight on the white steed all in one), Aegislash because... well... yanno. Corviknight because... well... yanno. Ceruledge because... well...- Though, Aegislash and Ceruledge are both funny because she's so scared of ghosts. ^^ Arboliva is purely because of her name. Milotic just felt right like of course she would have this beautiful pokemon.
Emrys:
Tumblr media
Em gets Absol, my favorite poke cuz... the whole disaster, harbinger of calamities 'thing', (shiny) Haxorus just because literal cool dark edgy dragon, Honchkrow just fits him and is a nod to Olivia, Lycanroc feels on point too and Decidueye obv has the classic archer thing going on, and Grimmsnarl is all dark and briney.

I had no idea pokemon cards could be so pretty! I collected a little when I was in middle school but only ever got the real cheap basic ones so I never really got a good impression as to what the appeal for more serious collectors was, but seeing that poliwhirl? man that card is so pretty I fully understand now like waow
totally get it now. also those vmax cards are awesome, I hope that umbreon gets to touch the moon one day...
they've really popped off in the last 5-10 years, it rocks so fucking hard. the appeal of pokemon cards for me has always just been having a little art gallery to pull out and look at every so often, hehe
that umbreon is fucking BELOVED. it goes for over a thousand dollars in proper condition and has been nicknamed the "moonbreon" by collectors. a lot of people consider it to be the second coming of the base set charizard. i didn't get it at first until i really thought about how cute it is. and obv it helps that the card is beautiful, too.

Favourite Pokemon? Mine is Feraligart
Favourite Pokemon companion in the anime? I'm between infernape/gliscor
I'm a normie. I love Charizard (judge me i deserve it)
AAAAA, I LOVE THEM ALL. I can't choose. Specially the sinnoh mons. They're just all my babies QwQ every single one of them.
I also love the Hawlucha, his husband talonflame and their son Noivern. Wish we had more of those 3 and their lil gay fam in xy~
Corphish is a silly silly and I adore him! Totodile too! Also Ash's Charizard will forever be my baby, doesnt matter how big he grows.
But I do have a huge soft spot for Infernape. So I guess I do would choose him as my favorite Ash mon (along with Pika).
For main mons in general, I obvs adore Piplup and Croagunk the most. Also I believe in Psyduck over Togepi supremacy. And I like how Sophocles' Vikavolt was Ash's gift.

pokemon is one of my main interests and im about to make it everyone elses problem okok so. since trisha dark type she'd have a midnight form lycanroc,,,yea u know why. i think she'd also like an umbreon though kelly would have an eevee nd a bidoof i think just bc theyre both so silly. tex,,,im gonna cheat. tex would have a silvally with a bug memory. he's just,,,so silvally coded. otherwise i think he'd have like,,,a joltik nd wurmple or smthn. red,,,darumaka. the little stripes on it match his mask nd i think thats silly. however,,,i thnk he would also have something like alolan marowak or something rly basic (but rly cool) like charizard. tara,,,mawile, very important 2 elaborate that she mega evolves it too. she would also have like. the future paradox pokemon from pokemon violet. toad,,,tentacruel nd qwilfish nd whiscash. terry...ABSOL. he would love that little guy i think. nd liepard (kitty).
tex is SUCH a wurmple kinda dude. joltik too. and again ur so right on silvally why didnt i think of that wtf. I think red would have small pokemon so darumaka (little guy) & alolan marowak is so true also im thinking maybe im wrong & red shouldnt train fire types as a guy who has severe burn injuries but in a pokemon au the sun isnt. like that. so maybe itd be from a pokemon he trained.
yer lycanroc midnight trisha obvs.... & i have a shiny one :) tara would 4 sure mega evolve...... I agree with ur picks for toad but i also put forth wishiwashi
if terry was a human person he'd look like absol. kelly would train an eevee and get hyped for it to evolve only 4 it to evolve into a slightly larger eevee.
i also want avery to have a slowpoke after the events of paperteeth ( i say that like pokemon exist in paperteeth )

Putting together ideas for what Pokémon some of my favourite Stranger Things characters would have as partners, were they characters in the Pokémon world (as opposed to what they would have on their team if playing the video game)
(Incidentally I am still not over that episode of the Sun and Moon anime where Ash gets sent into a parallel dimension, an alternate Alola that’s all dark and post-apocalyptic because of the Ultra Beast Guzzlord and there’s this moment when he finds the ruins of his own school and I was like HOLY SHIT HE’S IN THE UPSIDE DOWN)
(I don’t think most people in the Pokémon world have competitive teams in their pockets at all times or really large catch-em-all collections; Ash Ketchum is an outlier and should not be counted. I’ll just give them each as many as I think makes sense.)
Steve - favourite character first obvs. Steve used to have a very conventional selection of Pokémon popular in competition, including a Charizard. These were mostly confiscated and sent away by his father when he failed to get into college either academically or on an athletic scholarship; clearly he was wasting his time with those things. He managed to hold onto Charizard because he’d left it in his car, but gave it to Dustin after that. For a while he didn’t have any, until the Vanillish that was the store mascot at Scoops Ahoy latched onto him. He was initially embarrassed and annoyed but now if you have a problem with his silly ice cream Pokémon you have a problem with Steve.
Since then he’s started catching a little bit again, just figuring out what actually appeals to him rather than what’s supposed to be cool. Steve pretty canonically likes teddy bears, so now he’s that guy with a Teddiursa, a Cubchoo and a Pancham and he’s given them all Everstones because he wants them to stay cute (he will not admit this). The cuteness of his team can lead people to underestimate him until he breaks out a huge fuck-off Crobat (because bat, also it can only evolve to that form through the power of friendship).
Steve is probably going to end up becoming the leader of that first Pokémon gym on a journey, the one that’s easy to beat to give the kids confidence. Brock energy.
Dustin - okay well I just finished saying that about most people not catching ‘em all. Dustin is very seriously trying to catch ‘em all. He treasures Charizard because it’s an objectively cool Pokémon and Steve gave it to him, but his main partner Pokémon is Dart, a Guzzlil, which I just invented as the pre-evolved form of Guzzlord (I mean, the pollywog to demodog to Demogorgon sequence is pretty much the worst. Pokémon evolution. ever). He swears it can be trained and won’t be dangerous! It’s barely an Ultra Beast at all, just an Ultra Baby. Fortunately his mother’s Meowth knows Fury Swipes.
Robin - I associate Robin with sound and hearing, both as a musician and with her interest in languages, so I’ll give her Kricketot and Noibat, plus a Fletchling because it's the Pokémon that looks most like a robin to me and that would be cute. Robin has mostly treated her Pokémon as companion pets and doesn't typically battle but will step up to help when needed.
Eddie - it would be simple and obvious to give Eddie steel types because duh, metal, but I think I want him to have an odd assortment of Pokémon that he's sort of collected lost-lamb style over the years. He has a Trubbish that he loves because someone should love Trubbish, a Gengar which appeals strongly to his sense of mischief, and is super excited that he recently managed to trade for a Galarian Zigzagoon to raise into an Obstagoon (Eddie is a huge fan of Piers of Spikemuth). His one actual steel type is a Perrserker which feels pretty perrfect for him, but his overall favourite is an Amped Form Toxtricity (with a Quirky nature). The preponderance of poison may or may not reflect the whole drug dealer thing.
Eleven - El and Mewtwo escaped from the lab together.
Nancy - Nancy doesn’t have Pokémon.  Nancy has guns.

i only write with 18+ admins. i am personally 27.
i don't use icons, but don't mind if you do!
this blog is low activity. i am a full-time student/employee and by god adulthood is coming for me fast.
i write whatever length. usually i'll match you, or do what i feel in the moment! usually this is a few paragraphs.
shipping is great. i don't do any 'autoshipping' or whatever it is called now where you ship right from the jump unless we're besties. let's build something! (obvs shouldn't have to say it but pls no incest, pedophilia, etc. i will beat you to death with my hooves).
in my lore, charizard had to suffer an early retirement due to a major injury from battle. leon's ace is a luxray gifted by my oc because leon screams luxray energy. charizard is still his bestie and acts more of an emotional support/emergency back-up.
idk just don't get weird.

Girl I wanna read some 2009 creepypasta so bad. Girl if I don't read about a Pikachu crying hyperrealistic blood right this minute I'm gonna lose it.
#when i was younger my favourite creepypastas were always the lost episode types and the#i bought a fucked up and probably haunted game cartridge at a yard sale ones#also the scary and evil video game found prototype ones#now that im older i think this was the precursor to my interest in lost or hard to find media and also weird old obscure stuff in general#one of my favourite creepypastas were ben drowned obvs but also like every pokepasta ever and that one about the spooky local tv#it was called 1999 and it was set in my province and i loved it a lot#oddly enough i wasnt into squidwards suicide or suicide mouse i think i just didnt like the suicide themes#i did like cry baby lane a lot tho#i think because even tho it was incredibly easily debunked by the time i read it (you could find copies of the real movie online)#it was fun and based off something real so it was fun to think about another world where cry baby lane was actually fully like the pasta#also i remember liking barbie.avi and candle cove genuinely rules#OH and i absolutely ADORED exe pastas#i straight up got into pokemon NOT because i liked the cartoon#NOT because my friends had pokemon games#NOT because i liked the cards or toys#BUT.... because i loved pokepastas so much qwq#the funniest thing i ended up playing some pokemon games on emulators because of my love for pokepastas#but i was also 10 and while i was tech savvy enough to download and set up and gbc emulator#i was NOT savvy enough to figure out how pokemon worked....i only leveled my charizard and got pummeled by misty.............#didnt get into the games proper until a friend sold me their copy of x in highschool and it finally clicked#(and then pokemon immediately became kinda blah.....xy was the sweet spot not too easy but still accessible for someone like me)#(its the exp share man... i know there's practucal reasons to not have it but also i come from normal party based turn based combat)#(so i just couldn't deal without it qwq)#anyway the lavender town theme is permanently lodged in my psyche

laventon mentions alolas ride pokemon, meaning it’s an ancient tradition apparently from even before pokeballs since they’re a new invention in legends
since obv the technology for them won’t be the same as it is in modern alola where the people would have chips to call the pokemon, i like to think that it’s like uhaul where you borrow a pokemon then drop it off at the location where you end up, where someone else then uses it to go somewhere else etc.
but if they even predate pokeballs, does that mean that people just. domesticated groups of tauros, charizard, machamp, etc? raised them from babies and trained them to be good with humans? it’s certainly not impossible, but if legends has taught us anything it’s that even low-level pokemon can be very aggressive, and it’s definitely a species thing (like how a shinx will attack you but a starly will run away from you).
then at that point too it could be safe to assume that alola has a different culture regarding people and pokemon, as the people of hisui are very scared of wild pokemon to the point where some won’t even touch them if they’re caught and calm, yet ride pokemon in alola are so common that laventon has heard about them. perhaps alola’s pokemon are exceptionally calm/friendly, or hisui’s aggressive, or maybe a mix of both. or maybe people in alola are just super brave or have a lot of faith in the ride pokemon
i love this game sooo much

If you could cross over two of your favorite games, which would you choose? Please explain, why that crossover would be a good match.
Oh you’re going to regret asking this one, I’m bout to GET SERIOUS.
So Pokemon, obvs, I love the whole world it’s built in, but the games imo are REALLY boring, I haven’t enjoyed one a lot since gale of darkness, the main ones just are a little too linear obvious plots, pretty standard setups for story and style. Speaking of style, the games lack personality, the models aren’t animated well, moves have no dynamic energy or visual difference at times, and the turn based battle style just feels kind of, I don’t know, old? Slow? Just doesn’t suit what I enjoy personally, gives me a FInal Fantasy vibe and I just cannot stand the speed at which things happen in those games, plus not into 3rd person ‘let’s build a team of people’ much, but that’s a problem for another time. With this all in mind, the game I wish would happen is like gen20 Pokemon, far future sadly, I doubt I’d see it in my lifetime but god I’d be happy if I did!
Ok so take the newest Zelda graphics, the visual treat that was BOTW, open world, puzzles, not JUST combat, you got side missions, hunt the chickens, find missing pets, parcels, items, whatever. Love it! The horse taming?! Amazing you funky little game. Now take the bad guys and beasts from that. And put Pokemon in instead. Give them the diversity, the life and believable natures that BOTW gave the animals, I followed a frog in BOTW for 15 minutes, and it was a great experience, it felt like it was believable. Above world spawning, ACTUAL difficult gameplay, rare spawn rates, make dragons hard to get again, cmon, it’s too easy now, make it so we need a certain set of Pokemon for certain tasks. Water types big enough to carry you will be able to get you to new areas, rock types that can help you climb mountains faster, or break through blocking boulders. Actual towns with more than 4 houses in them, shops, barns, farms, homes. Like little link with the heat, maybe ice types would struggle in volcano areas, or bug Pokemon not be so comfortable in gale force winds. Give the weather more of an effect on your partners. Mounts, don’t even get me started that Pokemon Let’s go had you able to ride any of the larger species, but swsh did not???? Bitch please, give me my rideable Pokemon. The wild area too was far too closed, limited, online was laggy and a mess, camping is limited, let me do more with my team. Pokemon for me is all about the actual creatures, how they live with humans, and the many wonderful things they’re capable of. Yes of course it’s cool they can fight, but like what else you know?
I’d love a game that lets me buy a plot of land, maybe plant things, custom build things. I’m a sucker for the fallout4 settlement builds when they’re modded to hell and back, they’re fun! It can be a really calm and creative process. If I could do that and skip the main campaign and all the battles for a bit? Amazing, it sound perfect for me. I am that distracted hoe collecting flowers while the kingdom burns in the background. Side quests are everything to me. Let me give homeless people enough money to get them in a home? Let me adopt Pokemon that are stray around the town? Plz oh plz bring me a Pokemon game that allows me to work WITH my team to do more than KO other species. I want to save and buy a plow for my buddy gogoat, and grow amazing foods to sell to get currency to spend in decorations, to spoil my team. Give me actual game consequence, if I ignore that sick and injured Pokemon I find in the wild, later maybe it’s family don’t want to help me out with a different problem, too stricken from grief. I am all about the average bits, the old women who need help, the lost pets board in town, the general day to day stuff. Let me get cosmetic items for the Pokemon I keep, cute outfits, special gemstone items, let me actually live with them, or even feel remotely like they’re realistic.
Ok so in game, if it’s looking like BOTW it’s pretty beautiful but also stylised, I’d have it so you can send out a maximum of 3 Pokemon from your 6, using bumpers and such to throw them out. If you hit the trigger you switch from controlling the human trainer, to the Pokemon you’ve targeted with a standard lock on targeting system. You then can be the leader, but be the Pokemon. You could technically defeat the game without a human if you wanted, which incorporates the mystery dungeon games I think, and caters to that crowd. I’d love to see the use of attacks out of battle, things like using water gun to grow plants, using ember to start a campfire faster and stave off the cold. There’s no consequence to Pokemon anymore, and I think that’s where it’s lost me. I have to admit I miss the days of a poisoned pokemon fainting if you don’t heal them soon enough, I miss gym battles that were actually tough, damn, try picking charmander in red and beating brock without grinding in viridian forest first, it’s not easy. And I loved that. Yes it’s a child’s game, it will never be difficult again, but god it’d be nice to have a bit of a challenge, or maybe a difficulty setting, so some could play it with hostility turned off, great for kids, or you can be n adult like I know so many Pokemon fans are, and play it on expert mode and ACTUALLY have to work hard to beat the game. Alternate skill trees anyone? Train gun a fire type to ACUTALLy combat water moves?? Please! Cmon! It frustrated me that every challenger has pretty much a systematic set of moves to use to win. Grass opponent? Fire attack spam until you win. It’s dull, so at least with very difficult tricks to either find or learn in game would make it more achievable if you can send that fire type in and I don’t know, train them so much the heat evaporates the water mid-battle and you suddenly have a shot at winning. Pokemon has taught me that if you work hard enough you can achieve something, but the games just have such strict ways to win. Feels wrong.
In terms of battling, let us BE the Pokemon, let us learn to dodge, train our speed, train our defence, make a team of truly tough Pokemon instead of just, average? Some species have a cap on their skills, a squirtle has lower stat points than a Charizard, but you can’t ever change that? Let me choose the Pokemon I believe in, and let me work with them until they’re just as good, if not better than the game tanks. This would also make online battles more interesting. Everyone picks the top trio. Fairy, dragon, legendaries. And yknow what? It’s boring. That one IRL fight with the monster Pacharisu that won in the world tournament with follow me and the situs Berry? Unbelievable, I love that little rat so much because of this, so let us all have a chance to build a team that’s strategically viable, strong, and potentially a winner formula, even if they aren’t fully evolved, or the biggest Pokemon in the world. Yeah maybe you have to grind way harder with your unevolved Pokemon, but you get to the end game and win, because you put love and time into species that you enjoy, not just good fighters.
Unfortunately I am beholdent to Todd-idiot-Howard, and I love the Eldrescrolls and fallout games (before they got dumb, not that I don’t play the new ones. 76 I’m looking at you, you big asshole game.) honestly I hate online games, so none of that junk, just a good old fashioned open world sandbox game is plenty. Games for me are an escape from others, not an invitation to socialise. To each their own of course, and I do play online games sometimes, just pretty short lived ones, over watch and rdr2 for example. Would they be sometimes better on private servers? Yes of course, fallout76? Want to play with others? No. I do not. Please leave me alone. And if you buy a private server you’re feeding the monster that is Todd Howard, the man the myth the asshole, then we’ll get more bad games like 76. I just so desperately want the Pokemon company to see what a beautiful potential game they’ve got on their hands, that could be suitable for far greater audiences, but instead they’ve focused on the kids. It’s fine, it’s functional, but it’s lost to the fans from day 1, that are all 20+ years old now and want something meatier to play, something far more broad and inclusive. I also hate that there’s no wheelchair option in any Pokemon game. Like cmon, it’s not hard to include that.
In short, BOTW + Pokemon, with a sprinkle of open world sandbox to it, less fighting, more fun. Or, at least both options. Sure, go fight everything, great, but I want to farm carrots over here with 6sunflora, plz let me have some peace.
Edit: I forgot about harvest moon, chuck some of that in there too.
SECOND EDIT: someone in the comments mentioned to put this in Unova? Plz love yourselves, this game would be ALL MAPS. Stuff one singular location, this is the ideal game, put every map in it, join them, put islands in, make them more explorable, more detailed!

If you could make a new pokemon game, what features would you include?
Disclaimer that obviously there's a lot that goes into the games regarding the size of the franchise and how it impacts other parts of Pokemon media blah blah. These are mostly for fun but I tried to keep them semi-realistic (assuming more dev time is given as well, like 3+ years instead of 1).
Also disclaimer that I'm not good at gameplay mechanics or RPG mechanics; if I was making the game for some reason I'd be hiring a ton of people to help with that obvs.
First, go back to sprite art. It's painfully obvious that the 3D models don't look as good and cause a ton of problems, so just? don't use them?? you could even do 3-dimensional sprites possibly
Now that so much time isn't dedicated to 3D models, spend time doing more animations; unique ones for each Pokemon for release, hit, attack, defend, victory, etc. Think like Colosseum or XD.
Fitting all the Pokemon is starting to get implausible, so why not just?? Split them across both games? So one game would have half the Pokes and the other game would have a different story line and the other half. Release one first and then the other to have extra time to work on it. yeah people will be pissed but they'd be pissed regardless as this is inevitable, and this feels like the most fair way to handle things
Second set of games should be sequels with different plots, not just more polished versions
For location maybe China or Australia? Australia has a ton of unique wildlife and China has a rich history and tons of Pokemon that fit the setting already
Retire all gimmicks, but bring back Megas. No two forms and restrict them to less-popular Pokes that are already fully evolved or have a reason to stay 1 or 2 stagers.
Following Pokemon is a must
Gameplay needs to be completely overhauled:
Your Pokemon can use up to six moves in a battle, and there's a "bank" of moves that you can switch around to be active between battles. No more forgetting moves to learn new ones.
You can carry up to 15 Pokemon at a time (though battles are limited to a max of 6 to avoid padding out fights)
You can train your Pokemon to fight a certain way, IE be more defensive, offensive, sneak attacks, ect. You can only choose one category per Pokemon and this affects how they attack during battle. Pokemon can also be trained to work together, which allows them to unlock combo moves during team battles
Moves are assigned to buttons
get rid of trade evos. no one likes those. or maybe there’s just an item that substitutes for a trade or something
When attacking maybe like a VATs system where you can aim the attack yourself, as well as an option to dodge? so there's more engagement to gameplay aside from just selecting moves, but it's still turn-based
Pokemon can have up to three types, but they're percentage based. So Dhelmise for example might be 50% Ghost, 30% Steel, and 20% Grass. Percentages change effectiveness so you're not ending up with 5x weaknesses.
Difficulty slider when you start the game. Why has this not been implemented yet??
Rework the entire dex. Longer entries and make sure all data is consistent (Charizard no longer being like 4 ft tall for example).
Voice acting??? literally it's 2021 why are things not voice acted yet. Give the Pokemon more range while you're at it, so they have a hit noise, an attacking noise, ect.
Wild Pokemon appear in the environment, and you have to use different techniques to approach them. Wild battles have a different mechanic than regular battles. (Legends seems to be going this direction maybe?)
A little thing in Pokemon-amie that lets you gain items from your Pokemon once you have a strong enough bond, like the gifts in Neko Atsume
A wider range of Pokemon abilities can be used in the overworld
Play as an adult because why not. Maybe a parent who's child got kidnapped or something??
Maybe a plot wherein the main villain is a Pokemon instead of a villain team, and they're trying to forcibly create a kind of Pokemon rebellion (Pokemon Rebellion would be a sweet title come to think of it)
There's probably more that I'm not thinking of rn but this is long enough as it is

Ash’s Kanto Team if I was writing the anime.
He’d still get Pikachu the same way as the normal series, obv.
He also catches Catterpie in Viridian Forest and evolves him into Butterfree quickly. Unlike the canon anime however, Butterfree sticks around a little longer, being released after the gym battle with Erika.
Unlike canon, Bulbasaur is actually caught around the outskirts of Pewter City, making him Ash’s way to make a comeback against Brock.
Ash encounters Charmander like canon, however, unlike canon, he doesn’t capture him yet. After learning about his trainer’s true intentions, Charmander runs off into the wild, growing bitter towards trainers. (Which will feed into the rebellious Charizard arc). Ash later catches the same Charmander, now a Charmeleon, in the same general time and area that he catches Primape in the original timeline. He evolves battling the Aerodactyl, same as canon.
Ash catches Squirtle a little after encountering Charmander, no real fuss. Only major change is that he’ll evolve into Wartortle around after Saffron City, giving it a little extra buff in power.
A little before reaching Lavender Town, Ash catches a Cubone that’s running away from Team Rocket. Honestly, Cubone just seems like a very Ash Pokemon to me, so I just wanted him to have one.
After losing his first battle with Sabrina, Ash goes to the Pokemon Tower and catches that Haunter everyone wanted him to get. This time, it remains a permanent member and gets to show its stuff in more battles.
After losing to Gary in the Indigo League, Ash heads to the Orange Islands where he temporarily catches a baby Lapras to surf around. He later releases her so she can go with the rest of her pod.
Ash also catches Snorlax in the Orange Islands, same as canon.
If you enjoyed this little fan project, but have more questions, feel free to ask! Though if those questions involve whether or not I’ll be doing the other regions, don’t worry, I will.

Ooh! Interesting for Raihan to be the overworked one, yes!! What a cute idea 🥰  This is set when they’re obv crushin’, but no Official Moves have been made. Enjoy!!

Hugs & Hammocks & Shuckle Conspiracies (LeonxRaihan)
After a yawn, a stretch, and a discreet butt scratch – er, lower back scratch – Raihan sauntered through the sliding glass doors of Rose Tower. How many yawns were too many to make it unhealthy? Was there even a limit? Maybe he shouldn’t have stayed up all night finishing his training schedule. He probably could have reviewed his and Leon’s match at least, then maybe he could be napping right now instead of meeting with Galar’s darling Champion to watch himself lose on the big screen of the conference room.
"Hey," Raihan told the secretary. "I've got a meeting with Leon."
"Champion Leon," she corrected with a smile. "And I'll let him know you're here."
Raihan barely offered her a nod in response and leaned against the counter. He tried to be in Rose Tower as little as possible. It was so sterile, almost an insult to the roses that bloomed beneath the floor. They were probably fake, anyway.
"He's waiting for you in Wyndon Park, Mr. Raihan," the secretary said.
"What?" Raihan asked. He tried to cover his sneer, though his exhaustion left little ability for such disguises. "We're not meeting here?"
"No Mr. Raihan," the secretary said, still with that plastic smile. "His assistant says you're to meet him at Wyndon Park."
"That's halfway across town," Raihan muttered. Good thing he came all the way here just to retrace his steps through Wyndon. "Thanks for letting me know."
"It's my pleasure, Mr. Raihan," the secretary said. "I suggest hailing a cab, so you don't keep Champion Leon waiting even longer."
"Thanks for the tip," Raihan muttered as he turned back towards the doors. "Wouldn't want to insult him with my tardiness."
"Thank you for understanding, Mr. Raihan."
Raihan didn't respond and tried to keep his steps light as he left through the sliding glass doors. As soon as he was far enough from the building, he let out a groan, then a sigh, and his feet dragged along the white concrete. Taking the monorail again would be double the expense, and apparently that secretary couldn't be bothered to hail a cab for him. Guess Leon will have to deal with his insulting tardiness, since he wasn’t about to fork out the extra cash for a fancy lift.
Raihan flopped into the monorail seat and bit back a yawn. The city of Wyndon flickered outside the window, though the colors were fuzzy from how fast they were moving, and even more so from how Raihan's eyes kept closing. He tried playing on his phone, but his eyes kept blurring and the light burned the back of his eyes.
He reached his stop, paid the fair with gritted teeth, and began his trek through downtown. How were they supposed to critique their match if they were in a park? Did they reserve the amphitheater for a showing, or something? Or was this meeting some cover up and Leon wasn't even going to be there? He decided if Leon wasn't at the park, he was just going to move onto the next thing in his schedule. He'd rather get an earful from Rose than continue this demeaning goose chase.
He offered a few waves, a few smiles, and a few pictures to fans as he walked through downtown. Hopefully the bags under his eyes weren't too prominent, or at least disguised from a photo filter or something. After walking long enough for late midday to shift to evening, Raihan finally reached the park. He pulled out his phone and shot a text to Leon.
Thanks for letting me know about the location change. I'm at the park, where are you?
A response came immediately.
Sorry! I told the secretary to tell you, guess she forgot. I'm at the top of the hill between the 2 trees
Raihan didn't bother responding and tucked his phone back into his pocket. Top of the hill? Did they set up a screen or something?
The fresh air of the park was nice, but it took so long to get there that Raihan sent a guilty text to Nessa telling her they may need to reschedule their training session. He said that the darling Champion couldn't be rescheduled with, and she said she understood. A few kids were throwing a frisbee with their Yampers, and Raihan let a smile slip. This place was much nicer than the stagnant air of Rose Tower, at least.
"Raihan, over here!"
Raihan turned to see a hammock hanging between two tall trees at the top of the hill. It had the League insignia plastered on it, and a plume of purple hair hanging from it.
A… hammock…? How the hell were they supposed to watch a match in a hammock? Was Leon expecting them to canoodle and watch the sunset together instead?
Leon's face poked up from beneath the side, and immediately Raihan had to swallow that twang of excitement to see him. What a doofus, hiding in a hammock at the top of a hill in the most populated park in Wyndon. How did he manage to not get bombarded by fans?
"Sorry again," Leon said as Raihan reached the top of the hill. "I thought you knew to meet here."
"Well, I didn't," Raihan sighed. He glanced around. "So, what, you want me to stand the whole time? Sit on the ground? Are we still going to watch our match?"
"Yeah," Leon said as he patted the spot beside him. "Hop in."
Hop… in…? To… the hammock…?
"What…?" Raihan asked.
"I thought out here could be nicer than the Tower,” Leon said guiltily. “Not so many other people watching us, either. I've got the match pulled up on my phone."
"I've… I've never sat in a hammock before," Raihan said as he scanned the equipment. "How do I…?"
"Just slide in," Leon said with that doofy smile. “Easy.”
“Easy...” Raihan repeated. “Right.”
He turned, backed up a few inches, then haphazardly flopped into the hammock. Its dip was more than he was expecting, and Raihan tumbled straight into Leon’s lap. He lifted himself up, only to slide back where he started.
“Shit, is this supposed to happen?” Raihan grumbled as he tried to scooch off of the Champion’s firm thighs. His cheeks were flaring red as red a Charizard’s tail - probably just as hot, too. He pulled his hoodie collar up higher to hide it.
“Eh, don’t worry about it,” Leon said. “Okay so I already skipped the introduction and whatever and got to the part where you bring out Flygon.”
Leon continued explaining his perception of their battle, but Raihan’s focus was latched to the fact that he was still mushed up against Leon’s side. He wasn’t sure what would be worse: sitting with one leg over Leon’s, or risking moving again and ending up on top of him. Was he moving too much? Would Leon notice? He was still babbling about Flygon and Dragapult, apparently not fixated on how Raihan had no idea how to sit in this rubbish piece of fabric.
“Arceus how are you supposed to sit in this,” Raihan muttered as he tried to scooch away again. “I keep sliding on top of you.”
“That’s okay,” Leon said again. “That happens sometimes. Just sit like this.”
Leon pushed Raihan down by his shoulder, slid his leg beneath and between Raihan’s, and pulled Raihan’s head so he was resting on his chest. Leon hooked his arm behind Raihan’s head, rested his head on his fist, and held his phone out with the other.
“Can you still see the screen?” Leon asked.
Raihan blinked a few times.
“Um,” he muttered as he processed their arrangement. “Yeah I can see it.”
“Great,” Leon continued. “Okay anyway, so when you beat Dragapult I was kind of surprised you didn’t switch up the weather again, you haven’t been doing that as much lately and I think that would be a good theatrical element like Rose was talking about, the fans really like it when you do that, makes the battlefield more dynamic, too.”
After Leon babbled for a bit longer, and after Raihan slowly eased into leaning against Leon’s chest, Raihan offered some insight to their battle as well. Before long they were offering suggestions, offering scathing rebuttals, and plenty of teases, too. The first time Leon laughed and Raihan felt it rumbling in his chest, he may have tried a few more times to get that feeling again.
They watched their battle a few times, then other Gym Leader’s battles a few times, then some suggested videos on the sidebar, until they were eventually watching conspiracy theories on what’s really inside a Shuckle.
“It’s berry juice!” Leon snorted. “People drink it!”
“Wrong,” Raihan said. “You’re wrong. It’s gotta be like, a black hole or a lot of spit or something. Maybe even reproductive juices-“
“Ugh, ew, stop,” Leon grunted, though that shiny smile was easily plastered on his face. Raihan couldn’t see it because of how they were sitting, but he certainly felt it bump against his head whenever Leon shifted their position.
Leon started telling a story about how him and Hop found a Shuckle once, and Raihan bit back his own smile at the enthusiasm that was rumbling through Leon. He was gesturing with his hands, even his foot, and little pangs of something warm started pulling in Raihan’s stomach. Leon was such a doofus.
Although their conversation skills were evenly matched, Raihan found himself pausing longer and longer between sentences in favor of listening to Leon’s voice. The sun was beginning to set, and the bold oranges and pinks shone over Wyndon, speckling color over the bustling city. He had to admit, he also enjoyed this spot a bit more than Rose Tower.
Raihan’s eyes closed longer each time he blinked, too, until they fluttered open when Leon gently nudged his shoulder.
“You okay?” Leon asked, and Raihan jolted into focus.
“Hm? What?” Raihan mumbled. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
"You're overworking yourself, Rai," Leon whispered gently. "You should take a little nap."
"What?" Raihan mumbled in return, though it was getting challenging to keep his eyes open. He couldn't stop the yawn from escaping, either. "Maybe, I guess. We should watch our match one more time though, then I have to train with Nessa, then I've got to work with the new Trainers at the Gym, then I’ve… I’ve…"
His sentence slipped into a mumble, then into another yawn. The soothing rocking of the hammock was slowly luring him into sleep. He tried to sit up, but didn't try very hard to resist when Leon pulled him back down.
"How about you just close your eyes for a couple seconds," Leon whispered. His voice was a soothing rumble against Raihan's ear. "Then you can get up and do your stuff."
"Well, maybe a few seconds wouldn't hurt," Raihan mumbled in return. He folded his arms and slumped backwards again, though the side of the hammock was doing a good job of adding to that crick in his neck. “Just for a bit.”
“That position looks like it hurts,” Leon said softly. “You should lay down.”
Raihan grumbled again, though didn’t stop Leon when he gently hooked his arm around his waist and pulled. Raihan easily collapsed into Leon’s chest, and again didn’t resist when he adjusted them lower and lower.
“Stretch out a bit,” Leon suggested, and Raihan sleepily obeyed. “See, not so bad, huh?”
“Hmm,” Raihan hummed as he easily faded in and out. Was this Leon’s chest or two perky pillows? “Just for a few seconds.”
“That’s a good idea,” Leon chuckled as he wriggled his leg out from under Raihan. He set it on the grass to gently rock them back and forth. “Just a little bit. It feels really nice out here, doesn’t it?”
“Mmhmm,” Raihan hummed again as the soft breeze combed through his hair, lightly scratched the top of his head. “Yeah that feels really nice.”
Gentle head scratches, a brush over his cheek, the white noise of the breeze and the birds chirping, the faint beat of Leon’s heart, the soothing rocking of the hammock; each was an ingredient that slowly lured Raihan further into an easy sleep. As he slipped in and out of consciousness, Raihan was glad they didn’t have this meeting in Rose Tower either.
